Perkins Restaurant & Bakery in other cities:
Food is GOD AWEFUL. No flavor at all. Food was cold. I don’t think they know how to use a salt and pepper shaker. They also shorted my shrimp order and would not make it right. The salad is so bad they didn’t even bother to cut the lettuce. Lazy hands in the kitchen for sure. This place sucks!! Makes denny’s look like a 5 star restaurant. Food is terrible. We will never eat there again!!!
Seating fast waitress very friendly made sure we were satisfied food was good except bacon flimsy and thin sausage links were fine but the other sausage they mustve cut it into three pieces then sliced in half but not all the way through kinda lame besides that everything else was great especially the pies.
We visited mid December. We will definitely be back! We got the breakfast burger and the salmon to go, with some cinnamon rolls and eclairs. Everything was just absolutely amazing. The bun on the burger was sweet and tender, beef patty and egg cooked just perfect. The fries were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The salmon was cooked just right. Roasted vegetables were tasty. And the pastries... just wow.The staff was very polite and genuinely friendly!
Virtually no wait for a table.Other patrons were at least 6 feet from us.Great Friendly Attentive Service!!The food was good. The only reason I didnt give five stars is because about 15 minutes after we left I became insatiably thirsty. I hadnt realized there was so much salt when I was eating. But after leaving I could feel it in my mouth. As a member of the Over 55 set I pay way more attention to salt intake these days!! Perkins might want to revisit their recipes.
When there on good friday afternoon my first time that I cross the border since the pandemic the place was not busy but the waitress seem annoyed and even made an bored face I use to be a waitress I know its a hard job but being a waitress its like being an actress you have to be nice even when you dont feel like it my husband did not drink his coffe cause the cup was dirty and he though it was not a good idea to tell her and annoyed her even more anyways we did not wan to give her what she gave to us so we gave 20% tip
Busy Sunday morning but we were greeted and seated fairly quickly. Our server was very kind and got all of our orders, including special requests, correct. The food took a little while, but again it was busy so very understandable, nothing extreme. It was all hot and delicious. Will be back!
We were pleasantly surprised. The food was tasty and plentiful. And, the service was outstanding! A special shout-out to our server, Paul B., who has the customer service thing down to perfection! He was attentive and incredibly polite, even while the restaurant was super busy. I would recommend this Perkins, and I hope you’re lucky enough to have Paul as your server!
Havent been to a Perkins for breakfast in a while. Food was served hot, tasted like it should. Unfortunately like most businesses, seemed to suffer by lack of workers ( the ones that rather get the free hand out instead of participating in making America stronger), so there was a wait to be seated. Todays staff was great.
Let me just start off and say, what a PHENOMENAL diner to eat at! This is the most I’ve enjoyed a meal in a long time and cannot wait to come back. It was 8pm when I was suddenly hit with a craving for French toast and I knew I wouldn’t be able to sleep until I got it off my mind. So I called up my buddy and we headed straight for Perkins ST Laurent. The food was to die for and the some of the best French toast I’ve eaten since my last trip to France.
Food and service was good but I’m giving this restaurant 2 stars for the lack of management. The kitchen staff was screaming so loud and laughing at a noise level that matches a frat house, and they could be heard across the whole restaurant because they left the kitchen door open. The screaming was only broken up by the clanging of pots and pans. Our server spoke with them but it continues and not once did a manager step in to tell them how unprofessional they were.
Paul the server was awesome. He was polite, listened well and checked on me at the right times. He was pleasant to talk to and I felt like he really wanted my lunch to be a good experience. The meatloaf was very good and the presentation of the plate showed there were rockstars in the kitchen.I praised Pauls abilities to someone at the front cash register and she seemed to just dismiss it. She could have been having a bad day... but I wanted to make sure his service was appreciated, especially during such difficult pandemic times.
We went for breakfast when they first open. There was a large to go order but only one person working in the kitchen. Food was too cool for my liking. It was not the standard we usually get. I do not blame the kitchen or waitress, but looks like the manager should better plan and be there to assist when these things happen.
We are locals.. we go as often as we can in the morning every so often later in the day. The food was great however the service was slow.. today there was a group there they were loud and rude.. they made comments about the wait staff.. the staff didnt hear.. they had a huge group.. when their food came a comment was oh six waiters to serve food only 2 brought out their food.. my God people need to have consideration for the people that serve you they are there to make a living too.. thank you staff.
Ill always choose a local spot over a big chain restaurant. Dont waste your time here unless simply picking up a bakery item to go. I know a lot of people who have worked at this Perkins location and they all say the same thing, that the kitchen is disgustingly dirty and you couldnt pay them to eat the food served here. Yikes.
Call me a spoiled New Yorker but the food was meh.Hash browns were far from crispy, the english muffin under my egg benedict was not toasted, making it very doughy. Generally speaking everything is sub-par. Diluted maple syrup, tasteless avocado… and the oil they use must be old, or else it’s not good quality oil.I generally don’t write negative reviews, but seeing all the wonderful reviews that they get I thought I had to contribute, just so that people who are like us don’t get lured into this underwhelming experience.
Best place for breakfast. Amazing value for the price. It cost me $12 for 4 huge pancakes, 4 sausage links, 3 eggs, and hashbrowns. The breakfast can easily feed 2. I also had the loaded baked potato soup which is very filling, if ordering a bowl, I wouldnt order anything else. I shared a bowl with my mom. My uncle got a burger and it was huge and my mom got a turkey dinner. She said it was just ok, not the best shes had, but I definitely reccomend the breakfast item as well as the freshly baked muffins. I always get some to go. Cranberry orange is my favorite.
Went there dec 3rd 2022 meal was ok steak was not good at all we ordered 2 pies to go got home the banana cream pie was good but crust was barely cooked the raspberry pie plainly was terrible no sugar at all in pie and also crust was not cooked we probably will never dine there again
Saturday morning birthday breakfast for my husband....waited a short time for a seat ..... seated near door w lack of social distancing to eat our meal .... we waited quite awhile for our meal.... eggs under cooked for my daughter , toast over cooked and I was charged for extras that I ordered and never received .... w that being said the manager Jason on duty was yelling out names to people waiting like a bingo hall ..... maybe the booth seating by the door should be left empty for people pouring in to eat.
Loved the food and Paul our waiter that served us.....but I did not like the guy that sat us he had glasses and was just very unprofessional, we waited ten min for him to even look at us while there wasnt anyone else waiting, I want to give highly satisfied with everything except that man and your restaurant would be better off without him........very very impressed with Paul
We eat here often.. menu is seasonal and selection has variety. This is pot roast season and its excellent. Service is always courteous and prompt. They have a senior menu which is perfect. Of course.... buy three get three free... gets me every time. I buy the cookies.. but they are too chewy so I take them home and bake them. After that..yum! Overall we find the menu just perfect for our tastes.
We have always wanted to stop at this place but never did. We finally stopped in today for breakfast and it was amazing. I had a skillet meal which had a ton of meat and cheese and my wife had the French toast and bacon with eggs. Although it was a busy Saturday morning, service was quick, friendly and accurate and the food was spectacular!! I almost cant wait to be back in Plattsburgh during lunch time just so I can try lunch! Thank you Perkins
We are a family of 2 adults, 2 kids that are 4 and 5. Yesterday was very rough for us at this restaurant. There was not enough staff on for the level of business for a late breakfast early brunch shift. You could tell that the service was chaotic and stressful for the employees. That stress then permeated throughout the restaurant. It made waiting for your seat, cashing out and food ticket times very long. My food was fine but pancakes were cold. During the 1.5 hours we were there there was only one Hostess who was both seating people and cashing customers out. We has to wait 20 minutes to get our check and cash out. Will not return anytime soon.
In mid-December, my wife and I were staying in Plattsburgh at the hotel that is attached to the restaurant. We didnt feel like going out to get food, so we called ahead for our order. My wife got the Salmon plate and I got one of their signature hamburgers The Breakfast. We were completely satisfied with our order. My burger was cooked to the proper temperature, the bun was toasted and resisted any moisture, the eggs were cooked to perfection and the garnish was really fresh. My wifes salmon was, likewise, cooked perfectly and the vegetables were seasoned well and tasted wonderful. While she was picking up our food, she was talked into getting some cinnamon rolls and eclairs. Holy cow they were delicious. As we could not finish them all that one night, we took them home and had two more desserts from them.Needless to say, the next time we are in the area, we will very much consider returning to get a second helping. The staff was friendly and seemed to genuinely care about our order. Hats off to the crew and managers that made this all possible. See you soon!***On a side note, I didnt know that I needed egg on my hamburger before that day, and I am quite sure I will need it on any subsequent burgers I have either at home or at a restaurant. Thank you for adding one more thing I am going to have to put on my burgers!!!!***
We went for breakfast. We only waited about 10 minutes for a seat but waited over 1 hour for our food. When it finally got to us it was cold. It was $30.00 and not worth $10.00. Plus a couple that came in behind us received their food before us, the same dish. Never again!!!
They were packed, BUT the service was still pretty quick. Our food was amazing. Seriously you have to try the seasonal strawberry crepe frenchtoast, its absolutely incredible. My mouth is watering thinking about it 😂 i ginsihed it, and i rarely finish all my food when we go out to eat. Our server was wonderful, very friendly and checked in multiple times. Definitely reasonably priced too.
Staff great. Why do you always get indigestion fir the rest of the day? Have a couple people I breakfast with. We all enjoy the meal. An hour latter. Through the day. Even with different meals ordered: strong awful indigestion..all of us. So we now go elsewhereHave good breakfasts. No indigestion.
The food is pretty good, I was glad I could find some plant based options to make up a meal. The atmosphere is alright, nothing special, nothing youre going to really notice or that stands out. Customer service was alright. Its a place to go for a hot meal you dont have to prepare that you would go again and have some options.
Good place to go out to breakfast and the baked goods are pretty tasty, but beyond that its really greasy. It is connected to Champys fun zone which is a really cool place for kids with laser tag and a decent sized arcade. Sunday mornings are kinda busy, expect a wait to be seated.
Was told a 5-10 minute wait. After waiting 10 minutes was told 20-30 minutes. So we agreed. As we’re about to sit down they say another 45 minutes for our food to be out. Lady was rude and the entire restaurant was empty. Its graduation week meaning you know it’s going to be busy. Meanwhile she proceeded to say there was only 2 cooks so very well understaffed. Not a pleasant experience.
I have only had perkins in Florida so this was our first time at this location. We got the build your own sampler just like always. And we werent disappointed. We also ordered loaded baked potato soup. Both appetizers and soup were hot, and amazing .I was completely full before leaving. My 4 year old got chicken strips and fries along with build your own ice cream after .She finished all her food and enjoyed it. The prices were amazing for us 3 to eat along with 2 cups of soup it was 30$! We didnt get to experience the game area since we were there for shopping. But maybe next time . Will be back for sure.
NOT OKAY!😡 Walking into the restaurant planning a dinner with my friend. I’m 13 and she is 12. While saying a table for two, the lady gave us a dirty mean look. And hesitated to sit down. Then we sat there for 45 minuets waiting to order our drinks. Finally 25 minutes later we got our waters. It tasted like rotten eggs. In my friends water had chuncks of unknown substances. NOT ICE. Then we ordered, I ordered a 10.00 meal, and then questioned if I had enough money to pay for it, by the waiter. Then 1 hour later we got our food that was cold. And stale. Then I asked for ketchup, and the waiter said, “ Get it yourself”. This is not okay. After we wanted desert which we weren’t asked if we wanted some. So paying the same ladie that gave us the dirty look, gave us the same look and made a loud sigh. Giving us the cups meanly she told us where the ice cream bar was. We went over there to pour the ice cream and it was melted. Madly I went to put cherries on, when there was a bug that came out. And there was gum on the sprinkles. Then we went to get spoons and there was none. So we asked a lady holding spoons and she said no. So we asked the people at the hotel and they gave us some. I DO NOT recommend eating here at all.
Went in for breakfast because I really liked their food items, That was until I ordered coffee with regular milk and the waitress brought me out milk that was GREEN...Yes...GREEN in color with stuff floating on top of what appeared to be milk. So, I think Ill eat my breakfast at the hotel I stayed in again. FORTUNATELY I didnt use the milk.
The food is very good have eaten there the last three night and had no complaints until last night. are server was not very good she gave us our bill with our food instead of waiting to see if we wanted any desert. she also was not good at refilling our drinks i had to ask another server to get us a refil. then sat there for 20 mins after done eating waiting on her so that we could get a box for out food and she was to busy talking to some of her friends that had come in to eat. its really sad when u have to ask another server to help u because yours is to busy running her mouth at a table right behind yours. hope if we go back tonight we do not end up with her again or we will not eat there. by the way she got no tip.
I never normally write reviews but Ive never been so disappointed with a restaurant. The service was very slow. The waiter brought out a wrong dish than what we had asked for. The food tasted so cheap and I found a hair in my onion rings. All across the board it was horrible.
I go on Monday evenings, as you get a piece of pie for free on Mondays! I typically order a duo, which allows one to pick a total of 2 items from 4 different groups (soups, sandwiches, salads, desserts). So, on Mondays, a duo is actually a trio, as I order a salad and sandwich, and get 3 items including a free piece of pie. All for $7.99 I could go to a fast food restaurant and spend a lot more than than I do at Perkins but the food at Perkins is better quality, tastier, more filling, and less expensive that the fast food restaurant.
The food was so bad it would have been funny if we had didnt have to pay for it. Maybe it was because we picked something that wasnt breakfast. If you want pie, breakfast or a burger than this is the place for you. If you was something that resembles comfort food dont come here. The only comfort you will find is walking out the door.

2022-05-14Friday mid morning and diner was a little busy already.First time at this location and will certainly go back.Servers are friendly and efficient. Food was good and well prepared, and prices were not bad at all. We really liked their pancakes and the apple pie (even though it was a very small slice). Coffee was fresh and tasty. Do give it a try next time you’re in Plattsburgh 👍🏻

2021-11-12Host and server were quick and efficient. The meat loaf dinner was quite good, though the iced tea was a little off, perhaps not fresh since it was close to 7:00PM and this Perkins closes at 8:00PM according to sign.Service was friendly, food was good. I would return.

2022-06-05Staff were efficient and pleasant. Meal preparation time was average. Reuben sandwich was tasty, but I expected a larger portion. Waffles were excellent but alas, no more strawberry syrup 😦. Restaurant was practically empty. Makes me wonder as we arrived after attending a nearby, large school recital and many other restaurants appeared busy.

2022-01-28Thinnest pork chops I’ve ever seen!!! In what world do people want thin pork chops? Less than a 1/4” thick.Side note….1st time the waitress came to see us after the food was dropped was to ask if we needed 1 check or 2. Not great service.

2022-04-19My breakfast was really good and most enjoyable. Coffee too. I only went out because I just didnt feel like the muss and fuss of cooking breakfast, or anything else for that matter. Wont be doing it often. And its not the fault of Perkins. But...2 eggs, 2 sausage patties, crispy hash browns, 2 strips of bacon, 2 toast, coffee and a glass of water was $17 and change. Plus a $5 tip. And I always tip. If I cant, I dont go to a sit-down restaurant. ✌️

2022-06-16Had dinner with my wife and mother. We were seated immediately and our server appeared in a minute or two. Turkey dinners with dressing were excellent. Desserts are always great at Perkins! Great dining experience.

2022-06-13Perkins has always been one of my favorite breakfast chains. This location has good service and my food has always been good. A basic eggs and hash guy here, but it always hits the spot. Every waitress Ive had has always been delightful and attentive.
