I bought 4 fish and they had ick and all died and I know that they have a 30 day refund or replacement but because we have 2 young grandsons they insisted that they need to be flushed because that is how they go to heaven. I have treated the tank and am hoping that the other fish will be fine but angry that the boys had to go thru that..
There was a young man who helped me immensely while i was doing engraving pet tags for my 2 dogs. he was so patient,friendly, and checked me out also......hard -worker ,as i could see! this was on friday dec 17.. Kudos to him! you need more employees like this fine young fellow!!!!
Disappointed that there were several dead fish in several tanks. Plenty of staff available but never approached or greeted by anyone. Met one other customer with her very cute pooch.No excuses for at least three to four staff but no interaction other than with each other.
The store was clean and the staff were friendly. The prices are reasonable and they have everything I need to take care of my pets.

I am a non stop shopper here at Petco! I get everything from treats, toys, foodies, goodies, an accessories for both my doggie, and kitties. Not only do I buy my pets essentials at Petco but, also I get my dogs grooming here as well. I am extremely grateful for the way that they treat my dog as a family member of their own. After buying online and picking up; went to WalMart. The exact same cat litter box was $8.00 cheaper. I guess I should have checked there first. Thats on me. Your employees were very friendly and helpful. Ordering and pick up went great.
I took my dog, Karma, to get her nails cut and her teeth brushed. The groomers there are wonderful, they are always so good to her giving her lots of kisses. We both are always happy after our visit.
Extremely clean store: it takes hard work from employees and excellent management to keep a pet store smelling fresh. Helpful cashiers. Varied, excellent, selection of goods. My wife adopted a cat, who loves the toys, wands, catnip etc. There is a real selection of cat food and cat litter as well.
Over priced. We already bought things for our new puppy and then on the way out someone handed us a pamphlet with some coupons for your new puppy.... Went back next day returned everything and got everything at Wal-Mart just as cute half the price!
I understand that everyone is short handed, especially in retail. However when you ask one of the two people working for help and they can’t be bothered to stop what they’re doing to help customers, being short handed is the not the issue. Sad that the person who put in their two weeks still cared but your other associate couldn’t be bothered to stop cleaning to help people waiting in line.
Love Petco, especially this particular store. Right now as of April 2021 you can order online and pick up in store and save 25% on orders of $50 or more. Thats amazing! They have a large supply of pet foods and supplies and their quality is great as well!
People were very friendly and had what I needed that I couldnt find anywhere else was very satisfied.
While the staff were fairly helpful, the fish tank conditions can vary greatly day by day. Ive just euthanized my third fish from petco from an infection that surfaced a few days after I bought the fish (10$ a pop by the way) and lost my receipt so I couldnt return them. the service is fine but the fish quality can vary WILDY and Ive lost a few fish from them by no fault of mine. if you buy from this store to stock a community tank I would suggest you quarantine them because sickness is rampant amongst the fish apparently
Its cold out and my dog Gino needed a new jacket and some boots. The store employee fitted him with boots and was so nice and patient with Gino. A great help and assesst to Petco!!
This store has really gone dwn hill sence Covid I guess. The past 4 times I have Ben to the store to purchase fish . No one can even help you. U have to bag ur own fish, long lines long wait . I need frozen fish food and live on the other side of the city . Time by I wait in line for 10 mins for a 5 person line my frozen fish food is melting. I have had to walk out twice b cus of no help and bag my own fish . Ik everyone is short handed but this is a shame. Ever sence Heather isnt at the fish dept, it BLOWS , fish selection is not that great , its sad this is the only fish store /pet store in auburn and its just not a gd experience at all . The counter girls dont greet u or even say hi and there always seem to be bothered when u ask them for help.. one time one of them girls at the counter says I cant leave her alone up here so I cant bag ur fish . Another young kid was asking about fish ? To the other cashier and she said idk and then the kid walked out. and the other counter girl says out loud I hate fish . Thats really cute coming from a place u sell fish. Just un real I watched a guy walk out be hind me today it just makes no sense and it truly is sad. I have to drive to syq for my fish needs 🤷🤷🤷🤷🤷🤷 not a happy customer as u can tell. If u go here GD 🤞🤞
I went in there to buy a fish. Lets just say they are over priced. And I had 3 employees standing there not helping me i had to beg to get help from someone. $70 for a beta fish and a bowl and a bottle of food wow. And they cashier I wont say her name she was incredibly rude I said thank you multiple times and she ignored me completely. Unfortunately this is a bad time for business with covid. So unfortunately Because she was so rude I wont return.
Waited a month to get my dog groomed. Then they canceled my appointment. When i tried to reschedule they said I couldnt get in for another month. A good business would try and help you out since they canceled on me. Wont be returning for grooming services.
Prices seem a bit high, didnt buy any thing, going to buy online. Unfortunately online purchases are not helping local stores.
Auburn has 2 McDonalds and this one in our opinion use to be the fast and efficient one...now the drive thru is sooooooo slow and 90% of the time there is some type of mistake. Was so excited when they rebuilt but I would have taken the outdated and kept the efficiency.
I needed to find Freshstep Lightweight Extreme cat litter and this store had it! This is the best cat litter and it has been very difficult to find lately. I also purchased a bag of cat food and I had a 25% coupon from Petco for food that was sent to me via email. The coupon would not work from my phone so the employee was able to manually discount the 25%. Very pleased!
Always friendly staff and most products available that I need.
Store is not offering returns on products and has no timeframe on when they will be. Purchased a filter and after setting it up its got an awful grinding noise and can be heard several rooms over. Product is unacceptable and Im unable to return. The sales associate I spoke to regarding this issue was rude and offered no help or suggestions on how to resolve this issue. Very unhappy with this company. Will be taking my business elsewhere.
I went to Petco this time to buy a fish. I went to the front desk to ask for help in the Fish Department. Within a couple of minutes a clerk was there. She was very pleasant and advised me on a selection. Check out was a little chaotic but they opened a 2nd register and it was fine. I do like your fish department. I think it’s the best around. However, I did see a dead fish in one of the tanks that upset me. The bottom cleaner was having a meal!

This store has almost everything you need and want for your pets. But I only gave 4 stars because it is arguably very expensive. Every now and then you can find some nice discounts though.
These are pet people, store staff are always happy to get visitors, are very knowledgeable about your pets, and I occasionally go just to visit the puppies when they are available.
I had my pup Sophia groomed with Petco for the first time and did a little shopping while I waited. Christina our groomer was AHHMAZING with my Sophia. Shes never looked, felt, or smelled that good after a grooming ever. We are definitely a life long customer of Christinas now. The store was very clean and stocked and the rest of the staff was mostly nice. Keep up the great work Christina!
I have lived in Auburn for over a year and have three fish tanks and two cats, which means I come here often! The staff at this store is always friendly and very helpful. The store is also well stocked and kept very clean.
Very clean and well organized. Tons of items on clearance towards the front, including $2 cans of cat food only $0.50 and 75% off cat trees and furniture. Fish tanks currently half off. Items very well stocked and able to find multiples of each item
Despite being rushed, Chris did a wonderful job.
Although it did take a couple of minuets for me to find someone who worked there (who wasnt busy). She was very polite and helpful, she knew exactly where the item, I needed was. They should definitely make sure there stations are stocked. My dog had an accident and the closest station, didnt have paper towels which leade to her going to the bathroom, in different locations. (She just had her puppies the night before, we were on our way back from the vets. She was NOT impressed I was carrying her puppies😂) over all 8 out of ten!
May not be the least expensive, but at least they have what Im looking for.
We booked an upgraded grooming package, discussing a thorough brushing and coat trim for our 16 lb puppy with the groomer. After encountering some knots not noticed during the initial consultation we were told they would need to take some more off than promised, but would still try to maintain the length.Based on this we were shocked to return (after the 4.75! Hours) to a dog who had been completely shaved down (including his face and whiskers). The haircut is not only unattractive and not what was agreed upon, our dog also has small scratches with scabs on his belly and legs where he was nicked with clippers.The team were animal lovers, but a clear lack of training and supervision means that when the groomer made a mistake they were unable to recover from it and continued to make a bad haircut worse.

I had an issue with a skunk spraying under my porch. I ordered the Natures Miracle Skunk Odor Remover on-line and picked it up 20 Minutes later at the store in Auburn. I needed it fast and I got it fast. Very great service and a great product. It worked like it said it would and now theres no more skunk smell
Its a very nice clean store. Some of the staff is very welcoming, friendly and helpful while others are not at all. Some were too busy talking to other staff to barely acknowledge me and finish my sale before they started talking again. Id go again being its the only pet store in Auburn that has what I was looking for just wish it was closer to home and the staff were ALL friendlier.
The store location is close by. The staff are friendly and helpful. The curbside pickup is fast and simple.

Petco carries Science Diet Oral Care for cats, usually at a decent price and sends coupons to me, and has the pet tag engraving machines (my furbabies wear tags, which we keep when they pass away, but we also get a spare to bury them with! 😢 #adoptseniorpets )
Very nice place to shop!! Ive been going here more often and their prices are within reason compared to PetSmart. Very nice customer service, pet friendly and people friendly atmosphere. There are always employees willing to help and I was pleased by the amount of attention the employees send to each customer that walks in the store. They may not greet you as soon as you walk in but they will end up asking if you need help with anything let them know. I enjoy shopping here😎
I went in to exchange a fish because it died and the employee asked me to wait for one minute then disappeared for almost twenty minutes then came back and said she forgot my kids and I were there waiting. The new fish also died.
The staff is always helpful and friendly. They give great suggestions for replacements if they are out of what Im looking for. They never seem like Im being a pain when I ask for assistance. This is a great staff!
We go here a lot and there customer service is always alright, but the today how the man spoke to my mother in-law was extremely rude, and unwarranted. While checking out she was telling us that she would pay for the stuff we were getting and he snapped at her. My mother in-law was not rude or even speaking to him. Even if a customer is rude you never snap on them. We will no longer shop at this chain due to this. Their loss we have over 25 large tanks saltwater and fresh. our money will be going straight to chewy and country max from here on out.
Horrible. Does not have good stuff for pets, it’s all unhealthy. I needed to get crickets for my lizard, they close at 8, I got there about 10 minutes before 8 and the doors were locked but people were still in there. Getting crickets takes about 2 minutes.
I can almost always get help when I need it. Heather is the best! She knows her stuff!
I have been using Peco for grooming ever since we got our dog. I had to drive 40 minutes one way for the appointment for them to tell me I had to have a copy of rabies vaccine. They didnt bother to tell me before I got there. Needless to say I will take my business elsewhere. They had a whole week to let me know and didnt bother til I showed up🤬!!!
Ive gone here for a plethora of animals, hamsters, betta fish, tropical fish, cats, hermit crabs, etc. The staff is so kind and are very educated on certain animals, and are always open to help! Over the many years that Ive come here, its always been great customer service

I can almost always count on the employees to be interested in why I am in the store. I have dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, parakeets and recently bought three bettas from petco. Been going there for years.

My kids love going in and seeing all the animals. They have a nice range of different animals. Friendly staff and they dont mind the kids spending time just interacting with the animals. We have picked all our reptiles and tarantula pets from there.
Bought a guinea pig here years ago that lived a long happy life. Every time I have been in here recently I have found an animal that was injured or did not look/act well. Im sure it isnt the stores fault, its just sad to look at. The animals arent exposed to people early on so they seem afraid.

I didnt look at supplies . I was there to inquire about getting my dog groomed. She was abanded before I got her and was quite a mess . So it was $43.00 / thats with tax. You get wash and dry , hair cut ( not a shave ) and she gets her nails done. Kinda like a little spa day. They told me when I call to make the appointment its usually takes a week to 10 days to get in. Overall the people were very friendly and seemed quite knowledgeable , but well see after the haircut.

This place has the WORST customer service i have ever seen. Went in around 1 p.m. today because my daughter got a fish tank and she was excited about finally getting fish (since the tank needs to sit a few days) the entire time we were there 20 minutes or more not once did anyone ask us if we needed help. They had an entire pallet of dog beds in front of all the fish tanks supplies so i couldnt even get to them. A guy stocking dog food seen me struggling to get to something holding my one year old and completely ignored me and didnt even offer to help or to move it at all. My husband finally went up front to the registers to ask about the fish and the girl that was there was writing things down and completely ignored him as well. Finally he had enough and said he refuses to give this place our money. Unbelievable! Shouldve went to PetSmart where we bought the tank, the entire time we were there the employees were constantly asking us if we needed help but a mutual friend told me Petco had a better fish selection. If i could give zero stars i would!
Took my 2 fur babies in yesterday to get groomed and the women who helped me was amazing! I didnt catch her name as Im very forgetful but she was amazing super friendly and great with my dogs! Definitely going back. Bowser and Leia loved grooming day!

Its the only pet store in town. We got a dwarf hampster last year for my daughters 7th birthday. We were able to buy everything we needed, cage, food, supplies and hampster all at once. They had everything we needed and the staff was super helpful. Its also the only place in Auburn that carries bird food for our African Grey.
Friendly staff. Sign says they are open until 8pm but door is always locked 5-10 minutes earlier than 8.
Looking for Melafix. Needed a 16 oz. Bottle for a large tank. They not only didnt have it, they werent able to carry it due to their polygram (what sells most in that area). Felt like a fish out of water. Plus there prices are odd and out of order conditions for animals are inadequate which youd expect from a chain store.

I have taken my dogs to Petco in Hawaii, Atlanta, and now upstate NY.I have never needed to make an appointment for nail clipping. If the groomers were busy they would stop and clip my little dogs nails. Today, the store in Auburn New York was too busy to help me after I drove 10 miles to get there. Of course I would’ve made an appointment if that was expected.

Came to your Auburn Ny location on Thursday April 16th before it was mandatory to wear a mask. Was turned away at the door. Planned on purchasing wet canned cat food. You lost customers. Took my business to Chewy.com and petsmart. Then in your Batavia location you turned a black man away without a mask but let his white girlfriend go in without a mask to shop.
Always have my pamplions food hes so picky and ive tried everything,the only food i can buy him and he eats is racheal rays small bites ,and you guys are the only ones who have this,my vet says to cook his food, but after a few days he wont eat .this product he eats everyday😉

2022-05-06If I could leave less than one star right now, I would. Something I just paid $21.99 for in the store, is advertised on their site for $12.35...for either delivery, or pick up in store. When I called to inquire, the person who answered the phone was less than friendly, as she stated that in store & online prices are different. I sincerely hope you enjoy that TEN DOLLAR difference, as you just lost a customer over it...who will be telling everyone I know. Ill shop at Petsmart in the future!

2022-06-18PETCO CARES- we have 5 cats and, at my age, it’s sometimes tiring to go and physically shop at the store. The order on line and pick up at curb is a gift that keeps on giving. Also, Petco knows we can’t always afford to buy items in large quantities and they will sell you what you want when you need it.I’m thankful they sold Advantage to us in the sizes we needed.

I make my own pet food .and I use organic human product to care for them .oils,shampoos, conditioner,I make it all I just go for things I cant make or dont have time .other than that Petco is a beautiful store to visit with friends and family. To much chemicals in the food and products.

2021-12-19Great service! Employee on the phone was very nice and checked stock twice for us. The atmosphere was inviting and many employees were happy to help us. They handled out new pet with care and briefed us about what he needed... they obviously care very much for the animals in their care.

2022-06-04I went to Petco 7 minutes before they close and the girls seen my truck cuz she know my truck In I get crickets all the time and she hurry up and lock the doors I seen her run up to the doors and lock them I went up there another time she asked me how may I help you and said I need some cricket please and she roll her eyes at me if you dont like getting crickets dont work there if you want to be rude and nasty I will be reporting this to the manager tomorrow morning I guess my chameleon have to starve because shes too lazy and dont like touching crickets I know because they tell me all the time they dont like touching crickets then one time I called and asked if they had crickets they said yes we have plenty I get up there they told me they dont have any
