One of the most well stocked, organized and clean Petcos Ive visited. The staff is very willing to aid your pets needs. They answer the phone and check inventory, and will actually put aside the correct product. Chris mans the register and the floor, and is quick to retrieve a product even if its on the second floor. Every customer is treated like a VIP.
I wish I could give a lower review for this but I called and was put on hold 3 times just to ask if they had an item and Im looking for my pup opposed to them helping they kept putting me on hold and when I asked if someone can help me they hung up on me. Worst customer service wouldnt waste my money to shop here when they couldnt even try to help me through the phone.
Kinda small and tight. Dog and cat stuff is plenty, cuz there always is...+They actually have a very good selection for reptiles!! Shocking! Heatings lamps and accessories for all kinds.💡💡They had plenty of cute baby bearded dragons too when i went.🦎-Tiny section for birbs!!?? Sigh..🐦And only parakeets available.- Dont buy the Guinea pigs unless you know the many consequences!!👀👀🐖🐖Adopt from NY Animal Care centers*** theyre many who get dumped there because ppl dont understand their many needs!😩😩
Went there for the vaccination clinic and was so impressed by the service and care that employees had for my dog. The clinic makes vaccinations more affordable and accessible and I was able to watch my dog with the vet, which is a plus. Overall the process was smooth and efficient and I will definitely go back. I have been recommending their vaccination clinic to just about everyone.
Terrible experience! If you care about your dog do not bring him to this place! They gave my dog rabies vaccine but didn’t put it in his file! I called customer service and they promised to send me a proper documentation, that never happened! Then we came back to get our last vaccine that was scheduled earlier. They gave my dog vaccine and than realized that he was supposed to wait one more week to get it. Vaccine was given one week earlier which put my dogs health in risk. They didn’t seem like they care, didn’t even apologize, just said if I notice reactions to take my puppy to the emergency room!!!! They don’t know what they are doing and it doesn’t seem like they care!! If you want your pet to be safe don’t bring him to this place!
Very thankful for this Petco. Easy parking. Its got the largest selection available for curbside pickup and online pricing is amazing. The staff is always friendly and quick, and they love the pups. Also, it always unpredictable how your pet will respond to a product and they are always understanding with returns/exchanges. Best pet store in the city.
Theres parking for Petco customers in front of the store but most times the spots are taken by people shopping in Costco across the street or in stores nearby. The shelves are never stocked by any means, the cat litter choices are very limited, and many times theres a long wait to check out.
My puppy attends puppy training here. The training space is not private. Its just a open area in the corner with a door divider in the store. Customers in the store will watch & interrupt the lessons. I have a good trainer but the training space is the problem. My puppy gets nervous and doesnt follow the lesson well. This store looks understaffed. There is no one on the floor to help customers.
I went there tonight for a new harness for my 5 month old cavalier who has already outgrown his old one. After purchasing, the woman at the register offered to help me put it on him. Even though my pup was being a lil feisty (which we will be working on through training at petco) she still worked with him at getting it on and graciously so. After a few treats and pets the harness was secured and fitted to his liking. Her name began with a Z ( please give credit where it’s due !) and she is why we will be traveling from Jersey to Brooklyn to visit this petco regularly ! Much love .
Avoid. I ordered my pet fish two weeks ago and confirmed with the shop. When I was there to pick up they said someone accidentally sold it out and they didn’t know when the refills will come. They also claimed to not know which staff sold it so I don’t have a name to file compliant. Mind you I already paid half of the price to secure. Nobody apologized for it. Horrible customer service and 0 respect for honest business.
The best! I was in and out within 20 minutes. The process of getting my kitten her shots was a breeze. The staff there are very nice and handle pets with care. I really liked that the prices werent crazy high, and they even referred me where to get my kitten spayed for a lost cost.
I am not rating the store I am rating the access.I use a walker and I could not get in. After driving around for a while I found a spot closer to to 2nd Avenue, even though Petco is near to 3rd, but most of the Petco spots were blocked off and there were also no handicap spots. After walking up to Petco with my walker and being puzzled as to how I would get in, I was told that they handicap ramp was was all the way down by 2nd Avenue so I walked back to 2nd Avenue only to find that you needed to use this lyft which was not workingNeedless to say I will not be returning to Petco And as a result of this bad experience I doubt I will even order from them online
Well-stocked, seems clean, helpful staff when needed. Only downside was that it was a little busier than I was comfortable with and considering the number of customers shopping, wish there were a couple more hand sanitizing stations in high-touch areas (e.g. pet food aisles). Everyone had masks on but social distancing was difficult as the aisles are tight and the store overall is quite congested with shelving. Probably wont shop there again during the pandemic unless I can find a really off hour when there are less people shopping.
This store has very little selection of cat and kitten food. Sometimes i dont have time to go to other Petco locations and each time I come here I have to look for another food supply places . I assume Whoever is responsible for inventory is either one a dog person or just lazy one.
I waited an hour to get a price adjustment on 15 cans of cat food that apparently had to be individually returned and then repurchased. Your inadequate register system was processing it as if it was the stone age, 2 people could not do this transaction without it taking an hour, and instead of getting back $1.50 I somehow ended up with only 45 cents. Needless to say I was not, and am not happy, and Im hoping to hear from the district manager about why there is no quantity button on your register keyboard.
This is my favorite Petco in Brooklyn only due to the fact that its conveniently located in walking distance from my house. However, my Mom believes it is necessary for me to mention that the isles and bins feel rather bare and could often use restocking. I rarely associates around to help but that could be due to Covid. Overall parking is available, and its a fast fix if youre pet needs food or something fast.
I like that the majority of the time when I come here there is parking available. I have been coming to this specific location for years. I’ve done training and Vetco at this location. I’ve never had a bad experience. The staff are very nice and welcoming. They truly love animals. Even post covid their customer service has stayed great.
This review is about the grooming salon. If I could give this zeros stars I would. I have a one of the most playful shihtzus I know. We made an appointment for 12 pm. They told us it would take about 2-3 hours which is pretty normal for a grooming. 3 hours go by and I have not recieved a text nor call so I decided to reach out. They tell me another 40 minutes and then she will be ready. 40 minutes go by and I dont receive another call so I decided to go in but when I arrived I could see that they were just staring on her hair cut. What did you for the past 4 hours? It has been two days since and she is extremely drained and not the same puppy she was before I dropped her off. Not worth the $100 I paid for this grooming service. I have a feeling my dog was left in a cage the whole 4 hours.
A bad experience with a certain employee ruined my vision of the place. I simply asked the employee if they had any adoptable cats at this location. He brusquely responded “no, I just told that kid like 5 minutes ago”. I don’t know which kid he was talking about, or why my question ticked him off to respond in that way. I totally understand if they were having a bad day or something, but that doesn’t mean I liked to be snapped at. It was rude :(The store itself was nice and clean. I always like to go to Petcos and watch the animals and fish, this was my first experience here though.
If there was a no star option, I’d click it. I noticed when I walked in there were more options for dogs than cats for almost everything in the store. The shelves for cat medication was not stocked at all. When I asked the employee (Abigal) sales partner 29. (Noticed name and partner on receipt) her customer service was very displeasing. When asked her if another Petco store had the medication I needed for my cat, she told me to google it for myself rather than help me be a returning customer to a petco in general. Definitely won’t be a returning customer. Such a disgrace.
I wish I could give different ratings. 5 stars for the employees they are nice and helpful. 1 star because they never have anything in stock and when they show online they have something in stock they then send an email that it’s actually out of stock. Not sure who does the orders for the store but ORDER MORE this is clearly a location that gets busy.
The organization is quite lacking, but the grooming services are above average. The wait time for all aspects of the store can be excruciatingly painful. However, the staff is well intentioned, courteous and accommodating. If they can fix their systems, be a bit more organized, add an additional staff member, it would have been a better experience.
THE TANK I PURCHASED 40 GALLON BREEDER IS A UNIQUE SIZE AND IS VERY HARD TO FIND AND PURCHASE. THE ORIGINAL PRICE FOR THE TANK WAS 100.00,I GOT IT ON SALE FOR 49.98.I ALSO PURCHASED THE ALL GLASS VERSA TOP AS WELL AS THE METAL STAND. THE YOUNG STAFF WAS COURTEOUS AND KNOWLEDGEABLE.IM SETTING UP THIS GORGEOUS TANK FOR MAINLY SEAHORSES, PIPEFISH AND INVERTEBRATES.I AM EXTREMELY PLEASED WITH MY TANK, VERSA TOP, STAND AND MY INTERACTION WITH THE PETCO STAFF.
My appointment was first in the morning. The groomers were very pleasant, and displayed a sense of calm and gentleness to my pets. I was very confident that my cats were in good hands. The reason why they get a four star, and not a five, is because of the wait time, between the drop-off and pick-up time was like four to five hours wait. Due to the are there wasnt much to do to pass time, which makes it kind of bored.
My dog was not feeling so well. So asked questions all the associate gave the same advice . It was not 10 different opinions on things I should do. When you come in you are under a little stress because your pet is not feeling well. So you don’t want to be any more stress we’ll what product should I purchase. All in all it was great experience and my pet is doing well.
If I had a dog I’d give this Petco 5 stars because that’s mainly what this store caters to. But I have cats so I’m out of luck. Went in to buy cat food they have like 4 brands and no refrigerated food in stock. Also the refrigerated food is upstairs with the dog food and they have like 20 different kinds of food for dogs. So many dog treat and toys. Don’t get me wrong I love dogs but there should be a balance, it’s Petco not “Dogco.”
The staff is helpful, the free parking right out front is super convenient but unless you are shopping for dog/cat supplies, they dont have a wide selection of goods. Shopped for a replacement hamster and habitat after we got a sickly one from a Petco in Queens and the selection was significantly smaller than the aforementioned store.
I signed up for dog training with Natalie, and couldnt be more happy with the classes. Natalie is an incredible trainer, she takes the time to really understand your dog and its needs. My dog has been so much more obedient since working with her, and i have the tools to command her better. The store overall is very ckean and the staff is helpful.
I love this Petco. The entire staff is very helpful and friendly. I bring my dog here at least a few times a month for toys and food. She loves walking around the store. This Petco has a self wash upstairs that is fairly reasonable. It is so much easier than a bath at home and it is cheaper than doing a full groom.
As a upstate resident , I was really surprised with the well stocked store, lots of items I cant find upstate where here, but the rudeness and impatients of the employees is making me say thanx for the beautiful stocked store, just be nicer and polite to customers , the girls at the cashier didnt even say thanx after my purchase, wow thats a new low even for Brooklyn
I am happy I can share my pick up experience the teller was not friendly and helpful she handed me the box and said thats it I had to ask for a handle to carry the box she said to to me there is none while waiting on line notice the other cashier glue a handle for a lady on a small bag I couldnt hv believe having to carry this heavy box then she gave me one handle then I ask for a second one asking for the second with facial reaction she went to the other cashier to get one is this customer service no it is not
My trip on Sunday to Petco went from calm and content to annoyed and impatient. A manager at the time working, named Julia, gave me attitude and was completely ignorant when greeted. I greeted her and asked her for crickets once she was available and she simply walked away without saying anything. I waited literally 20 minutes before asking another associate to assist me. Her personality is disgusting and she always smells like cigarettes. Id rather travel further to a different Pet store than to this location on the days that shes on shift.
I had purchased 2 parakeets for my daughters 14th Birthday back in March.. But after finding out that we are not allowed to have birds in the complex. I quickly called back and was given the opportunity to return them with no hassle. I was given a refund and both birds were put up for adoption with cage and accessories.. I honest felt better knowing they be sold together to someone that will enjoy them since they bonded so well..
First time at this place, Beautiful store here. They have all sorts of animal food and supplies, big aisles, big selection. They got a training booth, vet section. Many different types of freshwater fish available. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, but Evelyn was outstanding with her super friendly personality, knowledge, patience and service. Good place to shop!
They sell animals that are sick here. First time getting a guinea pig there a few months back since the shelter did not allow my zipcode due to covid to go and unfortunately my guinea pig died due to having pneumonia!!!!!!!!! She was sick before i even got her and for some reason my review keeps getting deleted. Very sad that i had to witness this!!!
I love the service in 241 37th St Brooklyn NY. Jose helped me with my dog food selection and it was loke a miracle because Paxton loved it. In the shoes and clothing Department two other girls helped me and I was very satisfied, the prices were excellent plus a good discount, thank you Petco!!!
This was the first time I came to this local Petco (even if it was a good 30 minute walk) and I can say that I had a marvelous experience here. As soon as I walked in an employee offered to help me and showed me around for what I needed and made sure I had everything I needed who was later accompanied by another employee and helped out aswell. The cashier there was also very lovely, overall the Petco Community will make sure you have a great experience here and I will definitely come back here.
Veterinarian was great with my baby. He was so scared. However, she was able to give him the shots that he needed and explained everything to me. Staff was very friendly and very helpful. One of the cashiers didnt know the puppy food was on sale and if I werent told my the worker that recommended it, I wouldve paid full price instead of 1/2. Overall, i highly recommend this Petco. They also carried my items ro my truck because 1) they were heavy and 2) my baby was still shaking he was so scared and wouldnt walk so I had to carry him.
I believe i was helped by jose who answered my question over the phone the day before and remembered me the day after when I came to the store to buy a kennel. Very cool rep great customer service came in to buy a kennel for my cat and he assembled it for me without an extra charge. Definitely coming here again.
I only come here to get fish or fish supplies. My daughter loves the fish section as it also has a bunch of animals like iguanas, hamsters, turtles among others. As for the fish section, it really depends on who you get to help or who’s on duty that day. Some are much better and more knowledgeable than others. Service could use some work as I feel that some days they are just way understaffed and it takes ages before you can get someone to help you out. I was standing there with my daughter for over 30 mins once as no one showed up to fish section (well actually one girl did but she disappeared and never reappeared after promising us she would be right back to help us)
I went into petco looking for dog food and asked two of workers to recommend me a good dog food brand and Both workers were no help. The first worker I asked directed me to go upstairs to look for the other worker and has I went upstairs, I see the other worker is busy with another customer. So I decided to wait for the worker to be finish helping the customer. When he was finally done helping the customer he decided to avoid helping me. Basically all I want to say is that I’m beyond upset over how their was not one person that helped me.
All the fish looked to be in bad condition and their tanks were dirty too. There was a hamster that looked sick too. The staff were very nice and eager to help though and thats the only reason why I didnt give it a 1 star. Management really should focus on the health of the animals there, it doesnt look for them or the store.
Very organized store. Great selection of pet toys clothing food and care products. The staff is very professional and extremely helpful. I found awesome stuff for my pitbull titan that he enjoys so much. I was also recommended a birthday biscuit that was both nutritious and delicious seeing as he ate it very quickly lol. Overall a great store great service I will definitely make this my go to petco.
Walked in, was not greeted. Looked at the fish for about 20 minutes. When I finally found what I wanted, theres was no one around to help. There was a employee on her cellphone, but I didnt want to disturb her. Its a shame cause I like this place. Its close to my house.
I really wanted to love this Petco because everyone is so nice but extremely inconsiderate of customer’s time to the point where it was concerning as they were not giving us our dog back. Everything takes longer than 30 mins, dropping off your pet for grooming, paying, picking up your dog from grooming, it’s insane. Groomer wanted to charge us extra for everything and then claimed he needed an extra 1.5 HOURS to dry our dog because our dog didn’t like the blow dryer. Our dog has been getting groomed at petco for over 5 years, never had an issue. Idk who’s running the grooming session our dog or the groomer. At the end, we had to call several times to have them HAND OVER our dog because we were waiting over 1.5 hours from the pick up time and there was no one in the grooming session. At one point, we said we didn’t care if he’s still wet, it’s fine as we had things to do and they still wouldn’t hand him over. Overall, major anxiety and left feeling extremely uneasy as what was happening to our pet and why they couldn’t just give us our pet. Do not recommend.
The Petco I went to was mainly filled with fish, but thats a different story with other Petcos. Luckily thats what I came here for. They have good decor, but I dont recommend the tank decor that doesnt have the material of a cup. The cups that feel like glass but are not completely glass. Dont get the ones with paint, as it comes off inside the tank and the water will become toxic.
2 days ago(Friday after 7pm) called to see if they had an item in stock because my dog was in a lot pain. They had put me on hold for at least 10 mins then got back on the phone and said they didn’t have GLANDEX in stock. My friend happen to be going there for whatever reason and I had asked her to check for it and they did indeed have it. The reason why I’m writing this is because my dog is VERY IMPORTANT to me and for them to say they didn’t have this item that saved him from pain instead of being lazy and not checking is not customer service or appropriate.
Compare to other petco, for some reason this one never smells. Always nice & clean, but they are a little cheap when buying crickets. They actually count everyone of them, like if they are going to get in trouble lol. I like petsmart better bc they dont care. Petland also, too bad they closed down.
I just moved to the area and I love that there is a Petco in walking distance, since I used to have to order online and wait for deliveries. I’ve been getting my cat food and supplies from Petco for over a year since we adopted our cat and I’m very happy with the company.
Petco at the movement isn’t letting customers go in and grab their own pet’s food. Instead get ready to tell some random sales staff what you want and still get the wrong item.Petco instead of having 8-9 sales staff on the floor, reduce this to 2! One to be only on cash wrap and one to be doing online order and have the manager be the one letting 5 customers at a time shop.
This Petco, like other franchises, offers a wide array of pet needs with an emphasis on dogs and cats. This Petco is located directly in front of a Costco to help you get all your weeks shopping with one stop. The staff is friendly here and they offer training and grooming for your pet.
Absolutely awful. Ive bought many many fish in the past and from a variety of Petco locations but this one didnt even put Stress coat in the bag after she gave me my fish. I asked two employees there and both claimed that their fish specialist did not put stuff in the bag so they didnt know what I was talking about. For anyone whos ever bought fish before, you know they need Stress Coat so they dont die from anxiety on the way home. Guess what? My fish died. ON THE WAY HOME. I specifically opted for a more expensive fish at this location because all the cheaper fish tanks had dead carcasses floating or half dead fish around. If this is how they treat their aquatic animal God only knows how they treat their other animals. Please find a healthier location if youre going to shop from Petco.
For a major pet store they were low on some things for other than cats and dogs. Which is surprising because this isnt their Unleashed subbrand which is entirely cats and dogs. They did have fish for sale but nothing for the many people in Brooklyn who have not aquariums but ponds. It was surprising that of the major brand of pond fish food they had only one option and not much of that (other stores would have had the three major types in probably two sizes of container.) It was also clear that they didnt ever have it as an employee knew nothing. Disappointing.
Easy shopping but they need more team members on the floor to help cutomers they have a small crew but plants and fish are ok reptiles are clean birds a d small furry animals are kept clean. Just wish they had an array of aggressive cichlids other than oscars firemouths and regular jack dempseys convict,

I like going here unlike my pass vists from petland on 51st st and 5th ave where they mistreat animals and the workers are a joke but anyways this place is cool but they need extra workers how you going to have a cashier going back and forth constantly to help people on the ile while people waiting online he/she doing the double the work and it’s stressful that makes work delayed to do what you gotta do cause if you rush you will mess up and to find help at times you gotta walk around or go downstairs at times I see tanks dirty and I have seen dead fishes and some pets needs clean up well of course because you have one person doing everything on a floor plus always trying attending customers and customers got questions and doing everything else because everything else is delayed the workers doing there job I give them that but they can’t and they try they work hard owner needs to fix this because it’s owners fault to me that sounds owner being cheap and doesn’t care for workers and to sign an application for a job omg the most ridiculous questions they ask that has nothing to do with the job and they time you lol plus that application will take you forever to sign that is a joke
Bought 1 guinea pig here, it died a day later. Had to hunt down employees twice to get any service, registers were unmanned. No knowledge about animals, and then refused to sell us female guinea pigs bc we had a male, with no real explanation behind it. Petco is where the pets go to die

2021-12-08Very large store. Two floors. Self wash for dogs $15. All your pet needs in one place. 45 minute parking right in front of the store. Dog grooming and training is available on site. Staff is really friendly.

2022-03-23This was my first time in this Petco, its a big store. I think having your own store parking is great. Not everyone who needs a handicap placard has one, so the parking is convenient. Also love that inside they have an elevator. I didnt spend too much time looking at the animals but from what I saw the cages were clean and they looked well cared for. The store itself looks clean and the items seem to be pretty well stocked. The cashier didnt do anything amazing but she was very nice, she acts as if we found everything we needed okay and she thanked us and told us to have a nice day. Overall it was a pleasant shopping experience and I will definitely shop at this Petco again.

2022-01-26We drove here (picking up lots of pet supplies and taking the bus with that weight would have been hard). There is parking out front, just expect to circle maybe once or twice as traffic from Costco likes to park there. That’s not my complaint. I was sad to see how empty all the shelves were. I’ve been to other Petco locations and gotten everything I needed there but so much wasn’t shelved so I had to order online.

2022-06-09I called up and asked if they had neon tetras. I was told they did. I got there and they did not have neon tetras in stock . The young man who helped(?) me told me they had black tetras so I took one. I got home 15 minutes later and he was dead. I called right away and the assistant manager said to come back and since I couldnt get back for a couple of days, I need not bring the dead fish back. I went back yesterday because I had been told that neons would be in on Tuesday. I approached 2 employees one of whom seemed to feel the need to keep telling me that I should have brought the dead fish back even though the assistant manager said it was not necessary. Of course, there were no neon tetras yet. Even worse, the man who helped me, told me that the tank that contained my fish was a sick tank. I bought a different kind of tetra and guess what? This one is dead. Its not worth the gas it will cost me to drive back. Needless to say, I am done with this store.

2022-04-28Went for appt to the grooming section. My dog was being attend by Brittany who was sweet and attentive to my dog. I was informed that the stylist would be attending to me soo. However when she did finally arrived after waiting about 15min, she proceeds to attend to another dog who just arrived and left my dog unattend and disregard that i who had an appt with my dog was there and took a walk in instead. Truly unprofessional and she didnt apologize or acknowledge the fact that my dog n i were waiting.However Brittany apologies when i ask her to return my dog even though the service requested was not completed.Very disappointed with my experience and although this location is close to home I will be going to a different location.

2022-04-22Dont come here. Spend the extra few dollars to go to a boutique groomer in your neighborhood. These scoundrels will overcharge you and youre going to pay a similar amount. The haircut will not be very good and the customer service will upset you.
