Beware of fungus bacteria on your dog and jab your dog cant walk 2 days, I took my pet Stormy back to a vet who showed and gave vaccines with love and she was playful and walking, the fungus we been dealing with I had to take my Puppy to E R for a severe fungus and pain all under her belly so apparently the table or floors which I noticed dog urine on after ,because I was making sure rushing to be on time for appointment we had, I called them to tell them they said my Puppy was dramatic and called again doctor hung up ! And calls ignore. The bill is high and the sickness is so severe you must monitor your Puppy every minute with medications and bathe I watched my Puppy suffer for a vaccine and uncleanness which you cannot see until your puppy is very sick and your noticed red bumps and turns to pus bumps, and skin irritating and massive itching. Take your dog to a vet
Teddy is always a little nervous to go, but the lady was very gentle with him and courteous.I bought cat litter & the cashier helped me take it to my car.What great customer service.I like to go Petco for most of my pet shopping now. They have a lot of cat food options, my cat likes Wellness brand and they sell it in bulk.Enjoy!Adopt Dont Shop
The place is very clean. Though there is flies that probably escaped from being food. The workers there is very kind and knowledgeable. While I was there I saw a employee advising and suggesting to a customer that is buying pet fishes for his children. There is not much enclosure for mammals and reptiles (4-8). Overall is very well organized ^.^
I dont know about the other animals besides fish....but the workers here are great in the fish section. I was talking to an asian guy who knew so much about fish, asked so many questions and gave recommendations. He was literally the top 1% fish expert in his field and he was young if I had to guess both. The customers service at the register was also great, I was given a box to put my fish into while I transported them. I rarely give 5 stars, especially since Petco is on average 2, but the workers in the fish section or worker per say, was just AMAZING and CARING and SMART. The cash register person was also great, but not as great.
Not much of a variety here for Guinea Pigs. It seems to be the same throw a toy at it concept. They should sell pee pads for piggies, along with things like hay bags, play pens etc. Most of the items here are just big cages and toys. Including smaller not really necessary items.
I will always somewhat like buying my pet food from here (cats) but their dry food is so expensive and the biggest bag is 16 lbs. I only buy my pet food, when I am desperate from this Petco. Other than that, I have taken my pets here, to get their rabies shot. And also the staff are quite bland in my opinion. I think they need to be groom.
I ordered an item on the phone with one of the customer service representative. She was most accomodating and helped me to identify a store near me that had the product for pickup in stores. She assisted me with updating my points for my account. The store notified within a short time that the item was ready for pickup. The staff at the store amazing and very helpful. Petco is great to purchase all your pets needs. My daughter even applied for a job there because she felt she can be a part of their culture and would have a lot to offer to further enhance customer experience. Hope they would afford her the opportunity.
I went to pickup my order and shopped in store for additional items to add to my purchase.Person at the register was rude, barking commands at me I didn’t understand, scanned items I never saw the item prices.Told me to insert my card without giving me a total. Left the register.Then asked about some rewards I didnt have or knew existed.When she finally got to my pickup order I told her what the item was, it was right next to her, but she went one by one searching all orders to give me mine. Total disaster of an experience. I add to this feedback that NO returns are allowed now for some reason. And stores wonder why everyone is buying on amazon. Well the customer service is horrible why should I return?
This Petco is totally different from the one at Gateway Mall at Gateway Mall you a literally standing there searching for someone to help you while the workers hide this location the people are very helpful and they totally explain to you about the item your purchasing they are very mindful especially with the fish. At Gateway mall you can’t even find a worker.
The employees were very helpful and extremely nice. One employee in particular helped me pick out a proper harness, chew toy and bed for my pup. She gave me a schedule for puppy classes as well! I will definitely attend. Overall, very nice environment and awesome staff!
Ive come to rely on Petco for my pets needs, but the recent shopping experience at this location is making me rethink that. While a group of employees were standing in a corner, on the floor having a good chuckle, I needed help finding specific dietary food for a pet who just had surgery. I was at a loss. Coming to the register, I was greeted by an employee who flat out told me they did not know how to work the register, or help me round up my total to make a donation. Said employee then attempted to give me a one dollar bill for $11 dollars in change. On an already difficult day, having to reason with someone to get the correct change is overboard. Luckily Amazon had the food I needed, and I plan on sticking with them for any pet-related shopping.
Petco near Kings Plaza Shopping Center is a large store with a variety of items for for dogs,cats, birds,fish etc. I went in looking food items for my 2 cats.There were several brands if food. I wanted food for a sensitive stomach cat. They had it, but very little variety. I Would like to see a broader selection of food flavors for older and sensitive cats.
Unlike the other petco’s this was so disturbing. Yes it was poorly stocked, yes it only had two employees working the floor.... but the kicker for me was the super rude Vetco associate who ignores a guest because she assumed I didn’t have a pet with me, me asking her to not skip me was a mistake because she took that as a reason to be speaking to me with all the attitude in the world blinking and rolling her eyes as she spoke, when I asked her what was the reason for all the attitude, her reason was that vetco and petco are two different places... as if that justified her nasty attitude. Just don’t go to this petco if you can avoid it.
STAFF: Great staff. Very friendly and helpful. Ive head a great experience with them everytime I visit this location.INVENTORY: Usually had a great inventory but popular items sell out quickly but you caen expect them to be replenished quickly. Good selection of items to choose from.LOCATION: Not near a train so difficult to get to but if you drive they have a parking lot! Wheelchair accessible too.SERVICES: They sell all of your pets needs, this location has vaccination services, dog training and grooming services.Overall, good location!
I received prompt attention from several sales personnel. They were very informed in what my pet needed and assisted my family in choosing the correct items needed for our newly acquired bearded dragon. The animals they offer were in healthy condition and their habitats are clean and presentable. They employees were very kind and greeted customers with smiles. This, unfortunately, is no longer the norm in many businesses but Petco Brooklyn-Utica provides an excellent customer experience.
I been to other Petco but this location hot to be the worst but the reason for 3 star is they should keep the floors clean very dirty with feaces and urine everywhere. But I blame more the pet owner since they provide you with cleaning supplies to clean after your pet. But the staff are very nice there.
This Petco is awesome and the workers here are super helpful and completely knowledgeable in what they do. I was very impressed. But, although this is a Petco and they do seel cat food and kitty litter etc, they mostly cater to dogs. They only groom dogs and only cut dog nails. Besides that, this is a wonderful store and I recommend it!
Nice location and easy access, whether driving or taking public transportation. The staff was friendly and helpful I had no problem getting the cat littler I needed just before I picked up my online order which was ready. The aisles are pretty big giving clear view to all the products they carry and giving you room to move around freely without feeling constricted. If you live in brooklyn and youre passing through the flatlands area I would suggest you stop by if you have any pet needs to tend to.
Should be renamed DeathCo ..I am somewhat grateful for the long wait time waiting for assistance with the fish because I was able to notice the 20 or so dead fish on the bottom of the tank and stuck in the filter.There was no one to assist on the sales floor. I refuse to buy fish from a horribly managed fish tank.
Cant understand why I had to walk in there and grab my own bag of dog food its called pick up service. guess it meant u had to physical pick it up your self. I will not be using pick up service again. and not only that but this same location is horrible took my 1 year old bull dog for ear cleaning and she end up with an ear infection that cost me hundreds to fix and all they could do was offer me another free grooming 😯
I came here to make a pick up for the company I work for the cashier here was incompetent. My name was on the receipt for the pick up everything was paid already . He seems to have trouble locating my name after I showed him my idea and after I called my boss to make sure everything was kosher. Lack of focus it would seem . Get it together.
For 1 called the store about my UVB $62 bulb burning out & wanted to return it. I was told I could return it for full refund. Got to the store and was told otherwise. Picked up an online order but to be honest can buy from Chewys PAY LESS & they stand behind their merchandise 100%. Why am I unable to return my defective merchandise now?
Its a nice little store with very helpful staff. It naturally doesnt have the stock and selection the larger stores have though, and I hate that you have to walk so far to the parking lot with bags of dog food and kitty litter and pounds of hay. They should have built it with an entrance from the lot instead of just the store room.
The store has a large selection for supplies, but very disappointed in the training classes purchased for my dog. It seems they are more focused on selling new training classes instead of actually following up/finishing sessions with customers after they already purchased.
The place seems neat and clean. I dont go there for my dog or cats but rather to purchase a betta fish. I could not find any employees to help me. I had to walk around the store to find someone that wasnt busy with puppy training. I had seen a fish tank on their website for $9.99 and in the store, that tank was $14.99. I didnt check to see if that was the case with other products. If youre not there for a dog toy or other accessories, come with knowledge and be prepared to do it all yourself
I has a10:30am appt scheduled for our dog to get groomed. I arrived early because she was matted and I wanted to give the groomer time for a proper consultation. The groomer wasnt there as yet however, the two employees in the store were very courteous and helped me to purchase some food while I waited. The groomer finally arrived around 10:50am and informed me that she wouldnt be able to groom our dog because her blades were dull and she didnt want to take any chances cutting our dogs skin. While I appreciated her honesty I felt that it was a huge waste of time to go there. How is it that Petco doesnt provide the necessary tools for its grooming salon? Again the staff was helpful but apparently the grooming salon is just for wash and fluff
My cat Osiris has a Urinary Tract issue which is serious . Everytime I have to order there is a problem with contacting the pharmacy or contacting the vet . Customer service never wants to help . There’s no urgency to get the shipment out in a reasonable amount of time .From this point on . I will no longer spend my money at Petco . I will be going to Chewys I have a co worker who’s cat also has this problem and he ordered Friday afternoon I ordered Friday morning , his food is already on his way to him and will he delivered on Monday didn’t have to deal with the aggravation that I have to deal with Petco . This is the worst most indirect approach to customer service . Almost a hundred dollars in food and I have to fight to have it sent out . Pathetic
Alot of options. Took a walk around the store before settling in the area I needed to look in. Alot of fish and didnt know they had reptiles as well. Didnt get a chance to interact with the staff. When I finally worked my way to the section I needed there were many options to choose from. A bit overwhelming but I rather that any day than none at all or too few.
The people at this site actually own pets other than dogs and cats and are thus far more knowledgeable than the people at the Canarsie Plaza pet store. I spend the extra 20 minutes to go to this site as I am confident that no animal is being neglected by begrudging, unmotivated salary workers. They all love animals and thats all that matters to me.Major shout to the guy who has crested geckos and gave me so many helpful tips to improve my cresties quality of life.
Thomas and Naph at the Utica store were AMAZING!!!! I live by the Petco on 86th street but they didnt have what I needed so a Petco rep called the UTICA store and they had it. It was a bit of a hike but so worth it. I just adopted baby Cockatiels and Naph helped me so much, he knew everything that I needed to buy for them, he calmed my nerves with his patience and extremely friendly demeanor, I hafd tons of questions and he answered every one. Thomas was just as great with his super friendly personality and helpfulness. I will definitely be making more visits to the UTICA store even though its far from me. Yesenia Russo
Extremely Rude & Horrible Service - There is always a long line, there is never anyone on the floor that can answer questions or help. When you do encounter an employee they are snarky. If you need anything in the aquarium section expect at least a 45 minute wait. Last trip there they told me I might as well order what I wanted online. Guess what? I will!
I hate taking my furbaby to new places. Im VERY consistent when it comes to his groomer but this particular weekend I couldnt get to his regular groomer. Crystal cut my pup-🐕 pup with such precision. Hated paying the price but had to tip Crystal. She KNOWS exactly what shes doing. You can trust her with your baby
Bar none, this pet store is one of the best, if not the best In Brooklyn.I originally started coming here roughly three months ago to by a fish tank for my daughter and of course fishes. I had no idea on what size to buy or what fish to get. No more than a couple of minutes of this lost stare looking at the fishes, a gentlemen by the name Dom who works there approached me and asked if I needed any help? I explained to Dom that I want to buy my daughter a fish tank and set it with fishes but dont know where to start. After finishing explaining to Dom what I wanted he suggested I start with a 10 gallon Glow aquarium kit and some glow fishes. He picked out the food, gravel and a few things I would need. After purchasing this 10 gallon glow tank, I took it home set it up and my daughter loves it, thank you. A month later I went back to get a bigger tank and more fishes and was hoping I ran into Dom so I could speak with him on what I wanted so he could help make this easier. When I arrived I was surprised when I walked in to hear someone say good afternoon JonCarlo. I turned to my right and Dom was there. I was like no and he was like way, amazing. I told Dom I was looking for a bigger tank maybe 20 gallons or 30 gallons and he told me about the dollar a gallon sale or 50 percent off on I believe 40 gallons and above. Again I was like no and he was like way. Bottom line I ended up buying a 55 gallon and been going there every since. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful, and theres a lady at the register whos always saving me money when I buy food and other accessories there, sorry I cant remember her name.So basically I now own a 75, two 55s, the 10 gallons and a few others. I became a fish hobbyist and an aquarist and wouldnt go anywhere else but there. I special thank you to Dom for letting me know about the deals, Mimi who I drive crazy every other day with fishes, Miko and oh yeah the lady at the reg who Im always driving crazy to look at the Petco site for discounts,Respectfully,JonCarlo
This store really needs to re stock and keep some dog food on the shelves. Always sold out or just forget to order leashes and collars. I can never get a matching set!The food tends to cost more than other stores. Managers are not all that friendly and staff is ok. Cashiers usually make errors on prices.If you can go to the Ave Y store it is suggested -more stocked items.

DEAD fish in the aquarium tanks. Absolutely unacceptable!!!One star for the neglegiance of a working stuff and absence of adequate manager or supervised and torturing of the animals inside their artificial environment. These tanks are at the eye level and fish doesn’t rot in one day, this is not something unnoticeable, it is very obvious and easily viewed. I want to focus on almost all water tanks with fish, there is a problem with cleaning system, THE FISH got sucked in to the filter and because of inability to overcome that suck in force, just stuck to that filter wall until it becomes powerless and eventually DIES! Look at this horrible pictures, it is not about one fish but about a group of fish in almost EACH water tank. Some fish just was there for so long so that it rotted and could easily spread the infection. Horrible conditions for animals. Animals are suffering here, this is absolute insanely . Animal protecting commission should inspect this place.
Anyone that knows me knows that I am VERY protective of my maltipoo Jewlz. Jewlz is 5 yrs old and has only been going to 1 groomer, my groomer have been extremely busy so I decided to try someone closer to my house I decided to give Petco on Utica and Flatbush a try and I must say I am EXTREMELY happy with the result Jewlz was very matted and she took her time and made her look so pretty. You have to love dogs to be a groomer and this young lady clearly does anddddd she knows her stuff.Adiza Musah took such good care of my little munchkin I will definitely be using her in the future. BEWARE: GROOMERS ARE A RIPOFF!! The adult full service is pricey enough, but they dont wash the face or condition your furry kids unless you pay additional for a blueberry facial spa package (which they charge you without mentioning it). They also dont smooth out the nails when they trim them, because Trimming doesnt include buffing the nail out so our pets dont rip their skin (or yours) UNLESS...you want to fork over another added fee of $15. The seven point inspection is a joke and the groomers are inexperienced and unprofessional. I wont be paying them to practice on my pet. Pay attention and see for yourself.
This pet store has ick/ich (white spot) disease! every time I go there I see dead fishes laying in the gravel! please, do not buy their fish and put it in your tank because your tank water will be infected with the disease. When I complain to the manager hed tell me that I have to buy the medication to cure the fish. they selling sick fish so you could continue buying from them and the medication dont work it only slows down the disease. curing ick/ich (white spot) requires high heat and salt and this process is dangerous, if your fish dont die during the process then their life with be shorten. Please, stop buy fish from this store stop supporting them.

2022-01-25Went in early on a Sunday morning seeking help for my mother’s dying beta fish March. It was stressful for me as I know nothing about the care of a Beta fish and my elderly mother loves him. He entertains her. The sales rep was truly helpful and offered great advise. She even went and got some of the items for me! I was so grateful and thankful. I purchased a water heater, the solution for the water and other natural and silk decorative items for the fish tank. I left the store feeling at ease and my stress level went down to zero! March is no longer looking sick. His vibrant color came back and appears to be happy doing his regular hiding and eating routine. My mother is happy again talking about his one year birthday this coming March. Didn’t know that a little pet fish could bring such joy to a home. Thank you!🐟

2022-05-18They had a wide variety from toys to food for your pets and other things. The staff was amazing also, great customer service. Answered all my questions and concerns about adopting a parakeet. Once you make a purchase you have an option to do a quick sign up with them, took less then 2 minutes and you get your pet/yourself benefits. 👍

2021-08-16The sales rep suggested I buy a different type of dog food for my pitbull puppy whos four and half weeks, she got diarrhea. Its a complete mess. She still have diarrhea. Im mad I paid all of this money for my baby to get sick.

2022-04-21It’s a pretty good Petco. Associates are always lovely, lines have been short when I’ve gone there. Ample parking which is a pleasant reason to go here in this corner of Brooklyn. I feel like for as long as this place has existed, it has had some issues keeping shelves fully stocked, but what I personally need I can usually find or find a good alternative for. The store has never been dirty or smelly when I’ve gone too, which is also nice. Good sales, fun products for my dog, and my husky absolutely loves it here.

2022-06-21Do not use this Petco for grooming. They are very inexperienced, and have absolutely no patience with animals. I had not 1 appointment but 2, 1 for each dog. They wouldn’t groom dog #1 because he’s on medication. He’s going to be on it for the rest of his life. Dog #2 they started and stopped 5 mins into the shave. They called me to come back, I did and I was in disbelief that they were giving me back my dog the way he looked. He’s 5 years old and has been groomed many times before just not here. They said that they couldn’t continue due to him turning his head. He was not attempting to bite he was just looking back at what she was doing. She did not take her time which when I booked the appointment I told them they need to go slow and I want an experienced groomer. The groomer was only certified for 2 weeks. DO NOT USE FOR DOG GROOMING

2022-06-29I’ve had a great experience shopping at Petco as I recently got my first Guinea pig and was excited about the experience. The associate patiently advised me and helped me gather everything I needed to care for my pet, I will definitely be shopping there more often!

2020-10-05Store was clean, didnt have much on the shelves, well since corona havent been much supplies in store, since we r all going online. Great customer service, helped me find what I wanted some algae cleaners, got 2 snail. They look nice and cleaned up my tank.

2021-09-22Good selection of fish. Way more than pet smart. I’m a beginner so the lady was able recommend me to good beginner fish for my tank. I choose two bala sharks and two rainbow sharks. So far so good
