I did well. Got a beautiful male beta and plants to bless a girlfriend with. Unfortunately they were totally wiped out of food for betas so I had to go to Country Critters for the rest of the items I needed to give my girlfriend all she needs to take care of her Clancy! She is so excited and happy. 😁
Went looking for bunny supplies two weeks ago oh, and they had one large bunny harness and Leash. Went back two nights ago and I was told that they just got a huge shipment and restock the shelves. I went back to take a look and it was still the one large bunny harness. I noticed that a lot of things arent in stock
Prices in store are differant from online prices for the same store. They will match the price, but you have to show them on your phone. Even though they can look it up from their register. There was a long line and i left my phone in my car. When i returned with my phone, i had to wait on line again.
There is a large selections of cat food all priced moderately. When the manager saw a line forming at the checkout, he immediately called other staff to open registers. The checker I had, (young man, name unknown) was helpful, provided a bag and bagged my purchases for me.
I usually do curbside pickup, the associates are typically rude, and I usually have to go into the store to even get my items. I’ve been hung up on by the store when calling for my curbside pickup so many times. Quite literally I was in the store maybe 30mins ago and the associate at checkout was so rude, their attitude was awful and I truly believe Petco needs better staff or management needs to start actually enforcing customer servicing. The only good experience I had was with one associate Moneique.
Walked into the store was greeted and asked if I needed assistance with anything in the first minute or so. I said I placed an order online and received an email my order was ready for pickup and was waling out the door.The whole interaction took less than 5 minutes...what a time saver. Will be getting my supplies at Petco as long as the prices stay competitive.
My wife and I adopted our dog and literally our first stop after picking him up was the Petco store in Patchogue. The store associate Ryan immediately offered his help within seconds of entering the store. He helped us pick out a harness (he actually put multiple ones our dog until we found the right one), leash, crate, food, treats, dog bowls, toys, and everything else. He offered his insights and options for each category and was incredibly kind and caring. I would definitely shop at this store again as a direct result of Ryans insights, and efforts. It was heartwarming how he shared in the excitement of our new adoption.
Had a check up appointment at the New Vet Clinic for my 9 year old Female cat today. Let me just say, I was so impressed with the organization and professionalism of this staff. Every person I spoke with was an absolute sweetheart and made me feel so much better about my cat’s visit. (I was pretty nervous) I wasn’t allowed in the room due to COVID but the check up took maybe 15 minutes and the doctor came out to chat with me about the visit. The whole visit took maybe 30-45 min. She answered EVERY SINGLE question I had and was totally transparent with me. I never felt pressured or “scammed”. They texted me the link with the Vet bill which stated everything very clearly with prices. Her visit was extremely affordable and I was so happy she just needed some antibiotics for a skin issue. Also everything was done virtually which was so amazing. I am so happy to have found a great Vet and I hope they keep up the amazing work. Lily and I thank you guys so much for everything!
I scheduled my grooming appointment June 23 and today, July 9th, received a call they cancelled my apt because their stylist is going to training. Two of the three working that day and they refused to reschedule me to the other stylist whose working.Mind you, I’m moving out of state and they kept offering me dates past my move date when I said multiple times I won’t be there. Horrible customer service and all around bad company. Will never ever give any Petco my money again. Neither will many of my friends.DO BETTER PETCO
I went today with a lot of questions about kitten food! A gentleman name MATT took his time to answer all my questions, and to read all the ingredients in the kitten foods in the isles with me! MATT told me I can return anything the cat doesn’t like, even if it’s opened. MATT answered every question went over and above and he was wonderful!
I found all the things I needed and was given a coupon and everything . The customer service was impeccable :) they understand my dog is training to be a service dog and they understand when I cant finish my order as a curbside order and help me finish it in store . I couldnt be happier with the customer service . Outstanding !
The place is very clean and friendly. Everything is in order and the shelves are always fully stocked. The employees are very friendly and very knowledgeable.They love dogs there .They will answer all your questions and make you feel welcome .Stay on top of the rewards and you can get a great deal on a lot of stuff.Definitely worth signing for the rewards card.On the weekends they have different dog clubs there . Extra dog friendly.
We just love everyone at our Petco but mostly Brooke. She met our baby Bubba at 7 weeks when he was only 3 pounds, now at 7 months and 13 pounds I feel like she has watched him grow up. She picked out his collar, his harness. As first time pet owners it sure was scary but she made it easy and was so very helpful. She is the reason we came back a second time. The whole crew there is the reason we come back again and again and again!! Great job!
The floor staff (with exception of grooming- I never used their grooming service so cannot comment) is always very sweet, helpful, and very good with my Dane (who is on the timid side). She loves the staff, so that is a testament to their good energy and patience with animals. 🐾
I just called regarding booking a grooming appointment. I spoke with Brook. Just wanted to say how friendly and helpful she was. She went out of her way to get me all the information i needed. It makes me happy when someone goes above and beyond. So thank you Brooke. It was a pleasure speaking with you.
(Disclaimer: I am not a pet owner but sometimes shop for friends pets). Staff is pleasant, dog grooming and cat adoption are available on-site. Adoption and training events are also on the regular here. Prices and selection are okay. However when it comes to supplies (toys, collars, grooming gear, etc.), the prices and selection are a tad better at Pet Warehouse around the corner at Gateway Plaza.
In home we have the very first time having pet, we thought that having fish is gonna be so easy but not and we need all the guide necessary from petco they are so knowledge full how to manage and maintain the fish tank and what to get it to keep the fish smells contained, they help us a lot my wife, kids and myself we thank for all that help and tips we received.
I have found the majority of the staff here to be really great. Friendly and helpful. However I have two issues with the store and the stores pricing policy. First, they are one of the most poorly stocked pet stores (at least when it comes to cat food). So often I would go and there would be very few or no cans left of what I wanted to purchase. When I mentioned it to an employee, I was told the best day to come was the morning after the orders arrive. I feel a store should only rarely have no stock, it makes no sense to consistently be out of products that vanish before the next delivery. This problem caused me to order from Chewy rather than taking a trip the store only to find they did not have what I needed. That was probably one year ago, and sometimes I still go to Petco for an emergency, and have the same problem. My second issue I only noticed today, but wonder how long the policy has been in place. I needed Wee Wee Pads and checked online first to be sure they had them in stock. They were advertised as on sale for $53.99 and available for in store pickup. I was rung up for $63.99 When I mentioned the difference, I asked the cashier who checked online and told me because I mentioned it, she could give me the lower sale price because they match online prices. I did not understand this, because it was THEIR price, advertised online for in store pick up. No mention online that it would cost more at the store unless I asked at the register for the lower price, nor did they word it that this was a price for online orders. Simply, available for pick up in store. I even checked the policy when I got home because I thought she was wrong. Nope! So my recommendation is, if your are going to purchase from the store, it probably pays to check online first to see if they are advertising it there for less money. Personally, I find that to be a little deceptive and also annoying to feel that I have to check online before shopping to ensure a lower price.
If I could give a zero stars I would. I am so disappointed with the staff at Petco today. Especially the female blonde employee with the glasses. I came in expressing my concern for my two pet geckos because crickets I bought YESTERDAY evening, are all dead this morning! I went in and explained my concern and was turned away by the blonde employee saying there was nothing she could do. No refund no checking to see if the crickets were bad nothing. I have had issues in the past with this store but never with the quality of the food I provide to my pets. Especially with all that’s going on with covid.... now I have to worry about my animals. What a disgrace.
I went in tonight to get food for my snake. an employee named lindsey was working. i knew her previously so i tried to be a normal, friendly person and tried to catch up a little, again, as normal people do. i said “hey, i remember you. how are you?” and all she said in response was “can i help you with something?” if she’s that rude to people she DOES know, i can’t begin to imagine how she treats strangers that walk in. probably shouldn’t be working there, no people skills at all, clearly.
Ive been to a few petcos this place stands out the most. They have boas frequently, carpet pythons, and even tegus! Staff is friendly, if youre looking for something a little more exotic and you only shop at petco I highly recommend this one. Other than that, its a petco, you can get just about anything for your pet here
You guys always have what Im looking for.. The associate on the floor helped me with questions regarding our new kitten. And gave me a couple of other ideas for my 2 Bostons. The guy that rang me up at the front was nice. I never have any problems there.. Only complaint I could give is I recieved a couple for the science hill dog food. I could not find mine. I wish your systems could see the couples that where mailed to me so I would be able to use them even if I dont have them.
I like to Petco in Patchogue the girl that helps you with the fishes a very nice and helpful but what I didnt like is when the guy walked over and he couldnt catch fish and you got three people waiting for fish and the guy just walks away because you cant catch fish I suggest dont put them in the fish department no more but the girls that work there I have been there on a couple times theyve been really helpful Petco is a nice place but they should have more sales on fish I dont think neon should be $3 a piece I think they should sell them at a price which is maybe five for five because they School best in 5 or more its official been healthy Ive only had a couple died but thats what happens when you buy fish and I think that the fish food prices are a little high to the ones that they had on sale or mostly pellets
I’ve been going to Denise for grooming for the past 6 months. She is unbelievable. She genuinely cares for every single dog and does a fantastic job. I will never go anywhere else for grooming for any of my dogs-I have a Shepherd mix, Husky mix, and a Norwegian elkhound. All have different personalities but all come back shiny silky happy and healthy after she’s done. I used to get so anxious leaving my dogs with anyone else but I know with Denise they are in good hands. Again, she’s amazing. Highly recommend.
I do not come here often as I do most of my shopping for pet products online due to cheaper pricing, more selection and easy accessibility. I will state that the store is much cleaner, more organized and has a larger selection since they did the renovations about a year ago. However, there is still always a wait at the register whether there are two people on line or ten people on line, which is a bit confusing to me. Its also difficult to find a store associate to ask for help if needed.I did one of the training classes when my dog was about six months old and didnt really feel that it was beneficial, especially considering that it was somewhat expensive. At that time, they did the training in the middle of the store on busy Sunday mornings, which I felt had a lot of distractibility for dogs of that level. It was good socialization for the dogs but there wasnt much actual training that occurred. I believe that theyve since designated a separate area for training but Im still not sure what the qualifications of their trainers are as they seem to have a high turnover rate.This store is okay if youre in a pinch and really need a product but I feel that the standards for cleanliness and helpfulness of employees could be much higher. You can also find almost all of the products online for much cheaper.
Personal experience is okay.The reptiles there, specifically the bearded dragons seem unhappy. One of the premium beardies looks like hes not getting the nutrition he needs, hes basically dying. They all are in a tank together and its not good for them. When you buy beardies they specifically tell you to not house them together, yet they have 7+ housed at once. Yes its a big tank, but they should not be together. They cant thrive to the fullest when they are bullying one another.Walking around looking at hydrometers for iguanas, snakes, frogs and etc. They dont seem to be mantaining them. It was hard for me to just walk out of the store without saying anything.
As a new pet owner we needed a place to shop so we visited Petco. Friendly and informative employees who are animal lovers that make you feel welcome. If they dont have an answer to your question they run to get the answer. I observed and experienced visitors are treated special. Place is clean and prices are fair. 🐾
I feel the online shopping should be excepted at store locations....Seems as if the right hand and left hand at Petco HQ are not on the same page....I strongly suggest the two parties should come together for the sake of your company. WE have already started to venture away from Petco do to the confusion. This is just a suggestion, but you may want to take it serious.
Today we took our new puppy to puppy playtime the new trainer was awesome with our large 40 pound 5 month old puppy he was a handful and needed some assistance. I loved that she pulled one of the girls to help her and was awesome handling all the dogs but it only lasted 5 min of play because the rotten manager wouldnt let the assistant help for another 10 min the manager spoke to the employee rude and you can see that the assistant was torn between helping us with puppy play when the mean manager probably wanted her to sweep and stock shelves. This assistant was helping US The costumers and we were signed up for puppy training . BAD MAMAGER BAd CUSTOMER SERVICE ON HER PART. I will be back next time Ill tell her myself bad bad manager . The trainer gets 5 stars the girl who helped 5 stars,manager 0 stars ...5 min of play is not what I come for. Ill be back but Ill make darn sure Ill tell other puppy parents my story.
I went in to have my dog’s nails clipped today. I did not have an appointment and they salon was very busy. All of the groomers looked frantic and overwhelmed. One of the male groomers paused what he was doing and asked if I needed my dogs nails clipped. I said yes but then I was ignored after that for about 15 minutes. I understand that they were busy but I was less than thrilled with their customer service. They should have given me an estimated time or asked me to come back at a different time. I usually bring my dog there because they are very good at taking care of her but today was not a good day for this department.
The woman peg who works there or thats what it says on her name tag is consistently rude to myself and my fiance. I even stopped bringing my dogs in because of her. I notice her nastiness with other guests as well. She is not accomadaditing whatsoever if you have a question or issue and will push you off to another employee or tell you to call customer service.
I had the worst experience with the groomers in Petco. I scheduled an appointment and the groomer asked me to bring my rabies shot document for my dog. I did! I had everything. I was taking my dog to PetSmart for the last 4 years to get groomed with no issues. My dog has always had a Banfield wellness and insurance, so I stay on top of getting everything done. When I arrive for my dogs appointment at Petco Grooming the staff was very rude to me. I waited 45 min before I was acknowledged. The lady asked me for my dogs paperwork, so I gave it to her and she read it over for 10 min. After that she told me that other clients were waiting outside ahead of me, so I waited another 20 min. I had a feeling that the groomer was very racist. She looked at my dog and said that she couldnt groom him. I was so upset! I asked her why, so she called another groomer from the back and a guy approached me. He told me that he didnt have time as well. So what was the reasoning of me scheduling an appointment and receiving reminder text messages. I called PetSmart 15min later after almost being in tears. The groomer from PetSmart asked me to come right in & they did a marvelous job. I was trying to change to Petco because the location is closer to my home. The PetSmart location is in Commack but its worth the travel. Im so disappointed in Petco in Patchogue on Waverly on Sunrise Hwy.
Ok its a big national chain right? Sometimes a little overwhelming with the amount of stuff they have in this place. But they do have some experts that really do go out of their way to help. From cat foot do guinea pig bath supplies, yep, this location truly does a good job. Minus one star because of the long lines.
Mark the sales person was very nice and helpfull. I found petco a little on the pricier than other pet stores. The same harness that I was looking was $10 more than pet value on Setauket store on ponds path. But Mark talked to his manager and was willing to match the priceI would definitely shop again at petco
If I could rate this petco with no stars I would. The customer service here is terrible. The employees make you feel like youre an inconvenience to them. We shopped here tonight for a 45 dollar bag of dog food and wanted to use my 5 dollar off reward coupon. The cashier with blonde hair could not be bothered because the coupon was on my phone. It was too much work for her to type in the sku number of the coupon even after we had volunteered to read it to her. She then said that in order to use the coupon she would have to void out our one single item that we bought and redo the entire transaction, as if it were a huge order. We told her whatever is easiest for her. She then proceeded to have an attitude and call over her manager with a voice that made us feel like we had annoyed and inconvienced her. We told her dont worry about it and well just pay the full price because she already made us feel bad enough. Bottom line is, if you shop here dont expect to be treated kindly, its clear they dont care about or respect their customers here.
Always check the website for their prices before checking out! I wish they would just charge the same prices at the store that they do online, but their store prices are usually quite a bit higher than their internet prices. If you show the cashier on your phone when you check out, they will honor the lower price.
Id give it 0 stars if I could... DONT COME HERE!!! So I came to this store with intentions of getting a bearded dragon with all of the lights and things in order to create a bearded dragon habitat. So once I got everything in my cart, I wanted to get the actual lizard. I looked around the store for about 20 minutes, and nobody was even around to help me. One guy was working at the counter while there was about 20 people waiting on line. So I called the store from my phone to tell them that I needed help and nobody was around. 5 minutes after I got off the phone, somebody finally came out to help me. When she opened the tank, I asked to see all of them (there were some out of sight in the back of the tank). So she got the one in the back, and it was dead. She showed no emotion either. Just ew, its dead. Better yet, I think she was the manager, too. I ended up leaving. So... Thats my Petco experience!
Watched a groomer be totally abusive to a sweet dog because the dog had enough of her rough handling. The dog would not remain perfectly motionless so the groomer could continuously shave his snout and head. Totally overboard grooming. People - dogs are not toys, they feel pain and stress. They are like 3 year olds. There is only so much they can take. Stop with the foofoo styles. The groomers get frustrated and become abusive.
The only thing I purchased was a small container of crickets which came to almost $8. I am extremely aggravated that petco would price gouge its customers in this very difficult time. The same amount of crickets from Petsmart is $1.5 at most. This will be the last time I ever step foot in one of your stores.
I bought my son a parakeet here and all the stuff to go with it (cage, food, toys etc.) two days later we got him another parakeet so the first one could have a friend. A week later we noticed the first bird was just lying at the bottom of the cage not moving. I picked it up and he was still breathing but barely. Within 10 minutes it had died. About an hour later the other one didnt seem right suddenly. Brought him back to the store. They said it was too cold in my sons room and the bird probably wasnt going to live either. Thats lies! My son doesnt even have ac in his room and I dont have central ac. Not to mention, they have ac on in the store so how could they blame my son for having his room too cold? He took very good care of them while he had them. I truly believe the first bird was sick and gave it to the second one as well. Will never shop here again! They gave us a store credit for only one bird. The one that was still alive, they wouldnt give credit for the one that died. Fine by me...theres nothing I want in there anyway ...ever again! My poor son is so upset!
Petco Patchogue is huge reasonably priced educated staff I gave a test to a few employees on fish frogs snakes and they all passed I was impressed very nice store and worth the trip..Im going to call in the morning before I go because I actually want to go in and shop Im not paranoid and Im not concerned about corona every item on the web is curb side pick up 🤷 country critters allows you to enter and shop as every other store 🤦 corona has worn out its welcome if you allow entry Ill be around on my lunch hour..
DO NOT PURCHASE ANIMALS FROM PETCO. I’ve had multiple bad experiences buying animals from this store. My recent purchase was a baby corn snake who got sick after 3 weeks. Upon taking him to Petcos emergency pet clinic, they held him for an additional 3 weeks and only updated me when I called. They gave me mixed updates regarding his health and ultimately called me to tell me he had passed away. This is the third animal that has passed within 1 month of purchasing from Petco.
Was going to put a 5 star rating but one of the cashiers named Catheleen was really disrespectful and had no patience, every question i would ask, i would hear a SIGH, if i polietely asked for help i would get a SIGH, i was trying hard not to get mad so i just simply left. here is a tip if youre having a bad day dont put it on others because it can really change our mood.
I loved the $10 do it yourself bath stations at Petco in Riverhead but theyre not doing them anymore. A shame because theyre $10 Nail clipping and $10 anal expression made it a One-Stop shop. Staff is competent and helpful but I dont know what I will do now about my little puggles monthly bath
Do NOT go to petland! Its always something w them. My hamsters died soon. They sell hartz if u dont know the brand look it up dangerous for animals. I went to Petco and she helped me so much from minute i walked in. They dont sell hartz good decision! If u need anuthing to treat cats and house for critters go to them and suggest advantage or sernesto. And they are clean in this big store.
GROOMING DEPARTMENT!!I have a 5 year old 5lb morkie who has been groomed by Phil since she was 6 months old. I now also have a 10 month old boy morkie 9lb who phil grooms as well. My dogs are always well cared for, look perfect when I pick them up each and every time. I have recommended Phil to all my family and friends and they love him too!!! Book your appointment in advance he books up!! Great department over all!!
While you have a large selection, I have a hard time finding what I need. Today I tried to return something I brought yesterday I was told that my transaction could not be processed. I dont understand why the issue was not immediately addressed with the computer. Ill try again tomorrow.

2022-02-21Tried to buy a clown fish for a home aquarium and I was questioned what size tank and how long it was set up for. Then I was advised how many gallon tank I needed for 1 single clown fish. Ive owned fish my entire life... I know the answers this little boy was looking for. I own fish older than him. Petco needs to get their animals under control. Ill be buying my fish elsewhere.

2022-05-22Ok so, for the basics for a whole bunch of different critters, they are well equipped. Every single person there is great, I do think the store itself needs updating and thats keeping me from five starring it but if I could Id go with 4.5 stars and since I cant... 4 stars. This is the only pet store in my area I go to.

2022-06-14I get my crickets and oinkys from here .there much better than pet warehouse for crickets because the other place acctually tries to count each cricket ..and Im getting 100 usually its ridiculous..just give a bunch maybe a little more because its better to give customers more than less .. Because its not like you can actually count a 100 theyre always moving its almost impossible.. And theyre not cheap either I pay $17 for a 100

2022-04-04Dont go here there gross, disrespectful and there animals are sick they low quality customer service, very uncomfortable,workers seem like they dont sleep every, wasting time Gossiping instead of taking care of the customers after uncomfortable interrogation there are better pet shops/supplie, dont go there if ur planning on getting a healthy pet and a pleasant time shopping

2022-01-14Horrible customer service! Took my dog for grooming and he still smelled and looked dirty. Ears were filthy and wrinkles werent touch. Money spent and lost. Never going back!
