I wasnt shopping. I was buying. Petco stocked the large crickets and large worms I needed for my ten inch yellow gecko. Still hearing crickets on monday so he must be full or tired.
Will NEVER let Jen work on my dog, after the unprofessional behavior I witnessed from her IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS and how she treats her co-workers/groomers. I am horrified. No class what-so-ever.
Asked an employee where lint rollers were with a petco shirt and a name tag on clearly working and she very rudely said excuse me??? And so i repeated the question and she said i have no idea and continued working, so i found someone else and they were polite about it and showed me right where they were so props tobher for doing her job, but not the first lady.
Took my cat for rabies shot and wellness check. A lot less expensive than a vet. Go through vetco.com
The petco didnt have what I needed and I have been to petcos before that did.There were also items that said one price but when I asked about them they were over at least 30$.I was also up sold on stuff I didnt even need and the entire time I was in line I had a line behind me giving mean looks because they wouldnt open a second register even though people were available. I was then rushed out the door with no assistance on the several things I was sold.I have since been back to this pet smart and had a more pleasurable experience. Its been about a year though so they must have changed management.

Brought in returns from my online shopping since my cat has had to change her food.It went pretty smooth. It was made easier since I used my pals loyalty card and brought in the card I used to buy the products.
You can never find anyone to help you. I walk around to find someone to ask for help and no luck. I just want to buy some fish for my 135 gallon aquarium. This happens a lot at the Watertown NY store. I will buy my fish somewhere else for sure. Never again will I go back in that store..
Very nice store but lately there have been dead fish in at least one tank every time I go. That can be a huge turn off from buying a fish from that tank also sometimes i want a fish from that tank but dont buy them because of other dead fish being in there.
Super friendly, very reasonably priced products and the grooming was the best! They actually came out to my car to bring my dog in for me. ( hes a big boy ) Already made his next grooming appointment.
Our pets always love their toys, treats and presents from PetCo! Ive been shopping here for years and I love it. This picture is of our dogs Christmas presents. Not only do our dogs love them, but also my two year old niece haha.
Friendly Staff but poor fish management. I bought 3 dalmatian mollies, 6 neon tetras only to have them die in less than 8 hours. An employee let me in 5 minutes early with my mom. A worker was scooping up dead fish from multiple tanks and using the same net across multiple tanks. The mollies I bought were ok but slow moving and hovering in place and the neon tetras lacked color and were severely faded. I bought mollies down the road from their competition and they are still alive under the same water conditions. I gave 1 star for the fish care. I give 5 stars for providing my mom with a chair to sit due to her feeling weak. Dont buy fish acting slow or faded color. Look for lively and happy that swim away from the net not let you freely scoop up like my mollies that are dead.
On facebook I was presented with a very upsetting post the bearded dragon there looks very unhealthy and looks like it has been sick for awhile this is not the first bearded dragon I post I have seen I have seen a bearded dragon in the parking lot of a petco in another state that looked about as sick something needs to change.
Not terrible but not amazing. Staff are knowledgeable about their lil furry coworkers and dont squeeze hamsters or rodents into 3 ft cages so thats good. Fish die quite a lot though :(

If it wasnt for the wonderful personality of the cashier, I would have rated this place a 3. The shelves were barely stocked with food or snacks for dogs. I did find a remarkable non-rawhide bone that looked just like a rawhide. The cashier was super friendly, and chatty..., quite adorable and happy to be an essential worker. Thank you for your courtesy.
Service was excellent (friendly and helpful). Wish they carried Victor classic hi-pro plus for active dogs and puppies. Also found the wide assortment of dog clothes available. Enjoy the assortment of interesting and beautiful aquarium fish.
I howled the grooming experience. They are go good with dogs. It was our Huskies first time and they did such a good good with his dashed it like he is a new Husky smells good and fluffy. They were also able to fit our small dog in for a quick nail trim. I am also happy how well they handled he with having severe anxiety. The staff was so calm. I will be going back from now on.
Bought five fish to play with the one we won at the Great Lewis County fair. The person that took care of us was the GM and she was a GEM. She got us to grab some plants to go with the fish and explained everything so I could understand. All the fish except one have survived....I think our fair fish was a bully. Im heading back soon to grab one more fish and a couple of plants...plus I think I need a dog...these fish dont fetch.
The clerks were very friendly and very knowledgeable about what I need for my dog. They have paper towels and spray all over the store because they know pets will be pets. Kim helped me find the right products for the dog I have. My dog seems to love the associates at the store. It is a convenient spot for pet lovers. I highly recommend going here.

I can honestly find everything in this store either online or at Pet Supplies Plus, for a lot less money. Plus they dont have the best in store goods for large breed dogs. However, the customer service is great, the stre is very clean and they do offer other in store services!
Ive done an online order twice, and both times you were out of something. Yesterday I did a pickup and you didnt have the Advantage II in the XL dog. So I got the Large. I was charged a total of $35.18 for the original XL, I had 20% off because my order was over $50. You charged me a total of 47.50 for the large, and I should have got it for the same price. I will call corporate on this. The last time I did an online, you said you didnt have most of the urinary tract ProPlan I ordered. I walked to the back of the store and picked up a few cans. Very disappointed with this store, and will take my business elsewhere. I have 2 dogs and 10 cats. It would have been to your advantage to take care of business.

Brenda in aquatics was very helpful. She gave me recommendations to help with my fish tank. But the prices of the saltwater fish are incorrect on the tanks.
I like this store.. But its like super expensive there.. Even target has some of the merchandise in there cheaper.. Found and even better dog cage for half the price I paid (even with the member discount) which was pretty crazy.. They do have alot of animal stuff specially dog stuff.. You can also buy fish and get your animal groomed..

My puppy looks and smells amazing after her grooming. Alyssa, our groomer, really made an effort to be extra kind and gentle with our little wriggling ball of fluff. All of the staff today were really sweet and welcoming. Best of all, the grooming was perfect. 10 stars if possible.
Love this place. I would give it 5 stars, but they dont have enough associates to assist customers with questions. If you need help, it takes a little while to get it. Also they have a nice selection of fish, but it would be nice if they had more fish to choose from.
We occasionally buy fish from here for our kids and seem to have mixed results. Weve purchased probably 12 fish over the past year and 5 have died including 1 that contaminated our tank and killed 2 other fish with it requiring us to treat our whole tank. We were able to return that one.
They have never have the things I need for my ferrets! I have relied on this store for years, and now in the past two years or so, I can NEVER get what I need for my animals to stay ALIVE, let alone healthy! I used to love this store, but now it’s completely unreliable, so two stars, sorry.
We have rats so, unlike other stores they have more of a selection tan the others. Cages, toys and food/treats. Very friendly employees that love their jobs.
The Grooming is not good here. I took my dog here to get a bath when we first moved to Watertown and they said they couldn’t trim or buff his nails because “he wasn’t letting them”. He got groomed at the Petco every month at our old location and they never had an issue. He’s not even 20 pounds and they couldn’t cut his nails right? PLUS i was still charged for that service! So mediocre.
Grooming area smells bad! Need to clean it up! They dont do a good job on my dog.
The young lady who helped me out with choosing the different choices of cat food as well as choosing only a few cans to try and informed of the return policy should my cats were unsatisfied. Also, due to the shortage of cat food where I live, I have the option to have the food delivered to my house. This will take a blg burden off of me as I live almost two hours away from Watertown, NY and the fact I find it harder to carry heavy items. Thank you so much. The young lady who helped me, I would give her a five ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ rating.
Grooming is great. Their dog trainer is super knowledgeable. However most of the stuff in store weve been able to buy on petcos website for a significantly lower price and get same day delivery....
Variety and quality of products, but mostly because of the associate that helped me find things fir my puppy and her recommendations that were not based on price, but on things she has tried and worked for her with her dogs and she even explained why. She was friendly and knowledgeable.
Love the people here, and maybe its not their fault, but the husbandry for ALL their animals is inadequate, and almost all animals are sick. Ive had 2 hamsters die the day after I got them here, a snake came with mites and super malnourished. I bought over 300 worth of fish here for my saltwater tank, within a week all dead. I only have one animal that is still alive from here, a ball python that was dying when I bought her.
Always friendly, and decently stocked with a variety of options. Dog toys could be a little wider of a variety but it works. They could stand to be a little better about fish care, there is constantly dead fish in the tanks.
I took my dog there to get his nails 💅cut and I bought his treats because they calm him down and I told them that so I handed them the treats and they never used them so I got half the job done I will never go back
Never bad experience going to Petco as well as the source of where my new Buddies come from, as I have acquired 2 Parakeets from Petco. Not to mention the woman assisting me getting the bird was so polite and friendly and if I may be so bold quite attractive that too made the experience that much moore comfortable as always.
The staff is friendly and professional. In addition, the staff that works there clearly cares about animals. The hardest part about being at Petco is how the betas are sold. I wish they were sold in a bigger tank possibly a full set up so people understood that they need more than just a small cup. I also hope that Petco the corporation will ban selling red dye for hummingbird feeders, due to the danger it does to hummingbirds.
Dog poop in aisle ...no staff member to clean up after the in-store canine....and they were rude about us informing them of the hazard. I know it should be the owner but obviously they did not so it is up to the staff. Shelves are bare
Just got our new dog groomed at the grooming salon and it was a seamless experience. We were nervous at first since our dog is full of energy and we havent yet fully trained her to not jump or pull on the leash. The groomer there did a phenomenal job of taking care of our girl. She removed any fears that we had. Our girl got her teeth brushed, nails clipped, and fur brushed out. Shout out to Allie for doing a great job and for awesome customer service.
We came here to get fish for my sister and the fish staff was extremely nice and knowledgeable. Not only did they care that we found the fish we were looking for, but they were even looking out for the fish too wich is very surprising. It has been a little over a month and we have bought 10 fish. Only 1 fish has died but we brought it back to the store and got a new one. All in all, I am very impressed with this Petco and will for sure be back.🙂🙂Like if this was helpful.
Staff here are very friendly and respectful I got my bearded dragon red ear slider turtle and my ball python and my two gerbals from here and all my animals that I got here are doing well. I go here all the time to get crickets for my bearded dragon I got 4 tanks from here and they have good prices

They have okay prices on cat food and the cashiers were very nice. I went in to buy a snake but the guy in the reptile section wouldnt let me hold it first. I feel like checking an animals temperament before purchasing is kind of neccessary so I went to pet supplies plus instead. Crickets are very expensive too, 17 cents a piece vs. 5 everywhere else.
Typical big chain pet store. Employees have some knowledge of the department they work in, but like to act like they always know more than the customer. Do your research prior to going to Petco about what you are wanting and you should be fine. They do have some really good prices during their sales.
The pets are taken care of phenomenally and when I went to the fish section there was only one dead fish. The only problem I have is that the animal cages were barren and they had very little animals to sell even though they had the price tags on the bottom. I would love to see more pets stocked for purchase.
Very kind and helpful in picking out what I needed. It did not fit my dog and they were great at helping me return it. Also I got a bearded dragon here too and they were excellent at explaining to me the things I didnt understand.
My first time in a petco, i was very impressed compared to other pet stores, you can tell workers care about animal well being and people well being! i could definitely spend hours in that store!
They always do a great job with my dachshund/terrier mix. Hes not afraid at all when we walk into this groomer, which says a lot about how hes treated. My only complaint is that I always get the same service but somehow have a different total each time. Anytime I ask about it theyre like maybe they used a coupon, oh they probably rang it up differently, etc.
They take very good care of my dog . He always looks amazing when he gets groomed.
I went in over the weekend to purchase some animal supplies. I don’t typically go out shopping during this pandemic but I needed it that day and ordering online wasn’t an option. I was greeted nicely by the male cashier (I can’t remember his name) but he was very cheerful. I was then approached by one of the managers Cheyenn. She asked me who I was shopping for today and I told her I had a new puppy at home, 2 cats, and my grandkids have lizards at home and we needed a lot of supplies. She took my shopping list from me gave me the grand tour of the store and got everything I came for that day. She talked to me about my dog and cats diet and made some recommendations for enhancing their meal times with wet food and broths. The same young man checked me out (brown hair) and he was still very chipper and continued to Make small talk about their dog training program. The store was very clean and well kept and it was nice to see such pleasant employees coming from a big chain store. Kudos petco.
My dog is picky. I needed THE toy she wanted and you are the only local store I can find that sells Chihuahua sized Kongs. I stocked up LOL

Love a store that treats me like a human being when I bring inanimate objects into it after drawing weird faces on it and putting it on a leash and dragging it around the store. Its part of my disorder you know its not my fault that day I wanted to have a pet banana riding a stiffed unicorn or chimichanga with a little sombrero on it with his own little doobie, thanks for getting me Petco
It’s just an all around great pet store and one time I went there and asked why they didn’t sell baby turtles and the guy working there said it’s because they want to make sure it can survive even with bad conditions. Which to me shows that they aren’t just in it for the money. I enjoyed my visit very much and will come again.

Pretty typical Petco. I cant complain too much; I gave 4 stars because Petco tends to be more pricey. I still enjoy the large selections they carry of pet treats, toys, and food. Their animals always seam to be in good health and living conditions. The employees are also usually very courteous and helpful. We love bringing our pups along to pick out treats and socialize
Pleasant to walk around and visit the animals. Staff are pleasant and always willing to help if they can. One problem I have is, my cats Wellness Core grain free indoor cat food in the small bag is rarely in stock. I had to order it on line. I prefer to buy from the neighborhood store. Hope it gets better.

Loved it...All though its a Bit Pricer than Wal Mart for Dog Toys it Pays Off in the End. Our Dogs are Big and They can Tear a Wal Mart toy apart in 5 Min. They Still have a Couple Toys from Last Year .
Petco website did not know what was available at the Watertown store. After twice completing an online order only to be texted that the item was not available, I called the store and one of your associates checked the shelves for what was really available. I then went online to order and pay. Later we did a curbside pickup of our new cat tower. Thankyou, Thankyou, Thankyou!
They have fish & birds for sale but hard to get the food you need
About 5 months ago I bought a puppy training package for both level 1 and 2. I did this with the understanding that I would be receiving lessons with the lead trainer, Christine. My time with Christine was AWESOME and my little pup really grew fond of her (shes pretty shy). I went in for a lesson one day and Christine was no longer going to be training dogs. Im not sure what happened but I tried to talk to Christine about it and the manager on duty was so unprofessional and essentially scolded me to get away from Christine and then told me theyll call soon to arrange a new trainer. Well, about 7 weeks went by and NOBODY called. And to be honest, I only wanted to train with Christine because thats who I understood was going to be training my pup when I bought the $200+ package. I called to talk to the manager to get a refund for my puppy package level 2, since I never started it and the new amatuer trainer called me back, NOT the manager. Finally I went in to talk to the store manager and she was beyond rude. Told me that unless I had my receipt from (at this point) over 6 months ago, she cant do anything because store records are only from the past 3 months. Im sorry....do they not pay taxes? I have it on my statement that I spent that much at Petco on the date I purchased the training package , and youre telling me they cant look that up? Or have corporate look it up? Nice try. Store manager was a young girl, probably in her late 20s. So rude, spoke to me the whole time with her arms crossed. Pet supplies here I come!
They have a decent selection of fish, birds, reptiles and some rodents. There are $1 per gallon sales in the spring and fall on fish tanks. There is a nice selection of toys and I can bring my pet inside. Its a bit more expensive than some places, cheaper than local stores in some regards. I always get a good feeling from the staff here. Nice, clean, well kept store.
Staff was friendly and reasonably helpful. Not thrilled about how many fellow patrons werent wearing their facemasks properly, and there was a family with 3 kids seemingly visiting as if Petco were a zoo, but niether of those situations are Petcos fault.Anyway, we stopped in for crickets and earthworms but they only had nightcrawlers which are too big for the salamanders we have. It was pleasant otherwise.
We picked out a guinea pig. Was going to get a hampster but she told us it would be better to get our daughter a geunie pig. I wanted to spend like 50 and spent 160 but lets hope it was for the best haha
Im only giving a 4 star rating for the fact that we made an appointment to have my dogs nails trimmed and buffed, show up to the appointment and the lady who made the appointment added on a package that we did not ask for. After my wife and I resolved the issue with their employees all was good. Their staff is friendly and curtious and I recommend this place...
Always a good place. Wish the saltwater selection was larger for both live stock and supplies. Also would like the saltwater live stock they have price tags for to be in stock; most times there are few options in the tanks actually in stock each time Ive been there. For most stuff prices are fair and competitive to other retail stores.
So, I typically don’t go to petco for grooming but I really needed to get my dog in for a bath and get cleaned up and I called and this guy Alex told me they they don’t do just baths before 5pm, and they don’t do haircuts after 5pm? And to make sure I heard him right I had my husband call back and the same guy told him the same thing. And last week my sister took her dog in on Wednesday at 545 and we’re told they don’t offer hair cuts after 5pm. If this is true you need to adjust your grooming hours because your doors say your salon is open way past that. Wont be bringing my dogs back since I can’t get an evening appointment for a hair cut. How silly.
Fish tanks are always clean, lots of birds. Reptiles. Extremely cute and playful ferrits. Always have my pets needs and can hardly ever walk out without some tasty treat for my dog on cashing out! Very nice store for sure
Its great to take my dogs shopping, then to ask em to find their food, or selection. First time theyve pulled me outside to use the restroom, so, Petco should consider adding an indoor pet potty station along with their clean-up station. Small selection of vegan options, and pet clothing/gear.
We bought an item for our dragon that he could climb on. We discovered the dragon had got cut on something in its aquarium so we cleaned it out and discovered there was a screw sticking out holding the wood together!! So we took it back to Petco where we purchased and they apologized and gave us a full refund. We were past the refund policy however since it was a manufacturer issue they had no problem with our concerns. Thankyou Petco!!
My fiance and I went in later in the night looking for a bearded dragon. Due to it being closer to the end of the night we werent expecting much in terms of help from staff. Not only did Nate help us find what we needed for supplies, he was personable by telling us about his own bearded dragons. You could tell he truly enjoyed animals and was trying to make sure we were all set with out overselling anything. He made our experience with Petco efficient and enjoyable 😊

Best hub for pet supplies in the general area. Theres never been a time I couldnt find what I was looking for. The only think that could make it even better is a little more of a friendlier environment. Its very quiet and all the employees are pretty silent.
The girl that assisted us was short and abrupt. She was more driven to sell expensive merchandise than help us. She was not at all helpful. I sought out a very nice young man for advice with fish we were purchasing.
I love bring my pup to Petco. I would say they have a good selection of everything. There is always some type of dog treat on sale. The cashier was friendly and even mentioned I could grab another bag of treats for free since there was a sale on them..score!
The center is clean, theres a variety of brands available for the food of your choice for your pets. The workers are friendly and helpful. Also, when I visit they had a rescues dogs event and that was very nice!
Their dollar a gallon sale was great. Their selection of fresh water tropical fish not so much. Limited quantities and what they did have looked sickly
Good selection of pet supplies, but some are rather pricey. I dont mind high prices if something is good quality, but some things have fallen apart pretty quick. Overall, I like the pet adoption area, and the groomer area, as well as the large selection of pet supplies.
Every time that I went into this Petco everyone there was very nice. The workers are pretty sweet and I really liked how they had Santa Claus there for Christmas to take pictures with my dogs. I took one star away only because there were times where I had to wait in line for a very long time because they didnt open any extra registers. That would be my one and only complaint.
Overall a good and clean store with friendly and helpful crew. The scaled down dog toy section is disappointing. My dog had her very favorite and specific toys and theyre are no longer carried here. The cat toys always seem to be the same and my two cats are not interested in most of the ones I hope theyd play with. In the past they too had their favorite go-to toys but theyre also gone as well. Yes, my fur-kids are spoiled in certain ways but thats what you do with your babies.
Well when I entered the store the female cashier was very nice and greeted me and she was cleaning/disinfecting. Nice to see when a store is keeping up with the disinfecting and trying to keep everyone healthy during these tough times.
Petco is just okay. I can get what I need half the time, and the staff is mostly helpful. It just seems like there is always that one family who bring in their children and allow them to treat the animals badly. I wish the staff would speak up more about that. They have some questionable equipment in their rodent cages (wire wheels, very little bedding, very soiled cages) but thats what you get at a chain pet store.
I love shopping here for the dogs. They have the brand of food the dogs like and a wide variety of treats and toys. Carrie is always bright and cheerful and willing to help. The grooming staff is excellent. They take good care of all of our fur babies.
I love taking my dog here to get groomed. Jen is the best! And Jemma always comes home fluffy and smelling like a dryer sheet haha

Use to love buying fish from here ever since they took Dylan out there tanks are moldy mangers are scattered I have over 600$ of saltwater fish and use to come here for water last stop I made here for saltwater had no salt even though they checked my content level and almost killed my fish. Until Dylan is back in aquatics wont buy from here he seems to be the only one working when I come in maybe corporate needs to come and have a look at how there running this shop not impressed with the service
Its really hot in the building but besides that everyone was intensely friendly and treated my Bear like he was the best, most handsome pup ever. We went to the vetco they offer on Sundays. The wait was over an hr but still, great friendly people
I had the worst experience ever today. The fish I got are fine and everything but the reptiles their are sadly mistreated. Their was a tank full of baby ball pythons and they look like they are dying really. They were all so skinny. I felt so bad and sadly wanted to save them all but unfortunately I know that only leads to them getting more so I didnt get any and I told the staff the snakes need more food then what they are feeding them but they didnt care obviously. Sadly I dont think they should sell reptiles or amphibians or spiders

Impossible trying to find someone to help me! Finally found someone & she told me a large crate should be big enough for my lab. So glad i didnt listen to her! Bought the extra lg crate & my dog needs it for heighth. Went back twice for cat item & was told if it wasnt where she said, they were probably out & no idea when theyd get more. Its ok- Ive found a new store!
I was taking a picture of an animal that I was considering purchasing to show my husband. An employee down the aisle yelled at me that I wasn’t allowed to take pictures. Firstly I didn’t know, secondly they could have approached me and told me politely. I do not feel welcome to shop at petco again because this employee will most likely be watching me. If they are going to hire rude people, it will be better for you to shop elsewhere. I have told people about this incident and they agreed to shop elsewhere.
I literally walked by aquatics and there was a girl in there- sitting on the floor scrubbing salt water tanks with a toothbrush and sponges. Thank goodness! Those tanks have looked terrible for MONTHS! I never see anyone cleaning. I came back the next day and she was still scrubbing the tanks. They already look 100% better. She was telling me about her plans for salt water and some cool tangs she ordered. I’m so glad to have her back - maybe now I’ll come back and buy fish! Smart move petco!
We are working with Destiny, a trainer at the store. She is wonderful and she loves our English Springer Essie.
There really is great people working here, always happy and looking to help you. Store is always clean, and every time Ive been there at least 1 (often more) employee is doing something to care for the animals.
I received attentive staff that helped me with my cats birthday. She loves the sticks and the bunny.
The associate in the fish department was very knowledgeable and really a very pleasant person. I really liked talking to her. Great employee!! We need more like her in the business place.
It was like a maze, didnt like the set up.
Has made good progress in keeping the Reptiles correctly, Has a decent supply of Enclosure needs and Price Matches their online site.

We went to Petco to purchase a hamster. I kindly asked the worker if we could see a hamster we were interested in. She said she could not take them out unless we were purchasing one. I explained that we were interested in purchasing one. She seemed bothered and hesitantly said Ok... which one were you interested in? I pointed to a group of dwarf hamsters and she immediately said Oh no I DEFINITELY cant take those out. Well alrighty then! So off we went to Pet Supplies Plus to purchase a hamster. I mean really, they burrow under the bedding and its impossible to choose a hamster without seeing them unless we just wanted her to pick a random one. So stupid.
Petco is great. They sell birds, ferrets, guinea pigs, chinchillas, hamsters, rats, mice, lizards, snakes, spiders, turtles & fish. They have everything you need for all those pets. Just wish they had a bigger exotic animal selection. They also have grooming & training available. My only problem with them is that they are expensive. I can get almost everything there at my local pet store for a little less, plus I save the money in gas. Other than that they are great.
I usually come here for all my pet needs, but not anymore. I arrived at 703 last night I figured you were open late. When I walked up to the door a man opened the door and said Theyre closed a woman walked up behind him and my wife asked are yall closed?Womans response YA!!! very loud and angry, then slammed the doors together right in our faces. If this is the standard of Petco I can happily take all my business to Pets Supplies Plus as I did last night.
I love petco I was getting new fish for our tank and did have to wait quite a while to be helped which wasnt a problem... then they guy gave me the wrong fish because he said they where out of the one I asked for... which I didnt like because I had to drive all the way back to the store I would of preferred he told me they where out because those fish couldnt go in my tank they where too small and would be eaten... but on another plus side when I did go back the manager and the person who helped me after that wherw very friendly and help me get a few other fish in exchange for the fish the guy gave me so overall a fairly good shopping trip besides having to drive all the way back.
Overall the store is pretty good, my issue was with grooming. I have taken my dog many times before and it was good. This time they decided to shave my dog bald, I was very upset that I almost cried when I saw him. I was not expecting him to look the way he did. I explained to the people that my dog need certain spots shaved because of his hair being matted, but instead they shaved him bald everywhere except his head. Im very upset and disappointed. Ill be taking my dog somewhere else for his next appointment.
Every time I go in there I just love everything about it awesome people very extremely knowledgeable if one person doesnt know theres two or three other people that do awesome place.
I like this place, the stores associates are awesome, they take time to answer questions, concerns about your pet (s) the staff is very helpful, professional, and they care about their customers. I would recommend Petco!
I will never go back to Petco again. ☹️☹️☹️. Purchased a goldfish there and when it died a day later the staff at Petco treated us like we did something to cause the fish to die and refused to sell us another until we brought in a water sample to prove it was not our fault. All of our other gold fish are just fine. We felt like they were going to call in the CSI, FBI and HOME LAND SECURITY for a goldfish. I told them to keep their fish and there money that we paid for the fish. $7 nope never setting foot in that store again. ☹️😕😕
OVERALL RATING AT THE BOTTOM!Friendly staff for the most part. Good products for an average price. Not always affordable, but overall the products are reliable. I dont like the grooming so much, however, because I suspect they were rough with my puppy. She used to let me bathe her, but after letting them do it twice, she growls and snaps at me! Its not like her at all. They do a good job on her nails though. But be careful! The groomers are very clever at getting you to agree to extra purchases. They almost got me a couple of times. They poorly explain the packages and you end up spending $40-$50 on what couldve been $20-$30. Also, the trainer is very pushy about trying to get you to sign up for lessons. Theyre never rude about it, but annoyingly persistent. When the customer says no, you should just leave it alone. Overall, not bad. Although, Ive never been super impressed with any Petco.OVERALL RATING: 6/10 (Average)
I used to buy fish here all the time Dylan was always very helpful, but ever since they took him out the tanks are moldy, Everytime I come in there is leaks. Most of the tanks have dead fish. Last time I came I asked for salt water and even had the manager check the level of salt, she told me it was all good, I then brought it home to check there was zero salt in the bucket. I was very disappointed due to that was the point of me coming to the store. I will not be returning until they put Dylan back, because I believe he truelly knew how to care for the fish and the customers.
Great way to get the item I need for my cat. Like shopping locally.

2022-06-18Our dog, Nigel is a 4lb 4oz 15yr old Yorkshire Terrier and is blind due to cataracts and has Alzheimer’s. Jen in Watertown is the best! She does what I request and always loves on him. The only negative thing is that are prices are high. I definitely would use them again.

2022-04-15I need to start by saying that I really like Petco and the variety of services and products they offer. I’ve been to a lot of Petco stores and was truly disappointed upon returning to Watertown and going to this store. The smell when I entered was second only to a dog shelter! Obvious urine on the bottom corners of pretty much all the counters. The floors looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. After speaking with the manager of the store, who was extremely nice, I was assured that this would be rectified. I sure hope so because its not a place I want to shop in at this point.

2022-04-28Good store, helpful staff. One staff member told my 3 yr old she would have stickers for her for when she came back. And she actually did!!! Was very impressed. Wish I could remeber her name, she could for sure use Recognition and a raise!

2022-03-27Items were a little hard to find. The aisles were unorganized and nothing was labeled. I had a hard time finding dog shoes and ending up walking out empty handed. I will say that the fish tanks and general animal areas were clean and maintained. Animals come first and you can tell they are taken care of. I wish it was a little more organized and I wish there were more employees walking the floors to help assist in finding products. Overall a 5 star because maybe there were rearranging the store when I visited? Not sure, but Ill give them the benefit of the doubt. I would go back if needed.

2022-01-28We come here regularly for saltwater fish. We added a hamster to the family from here. Very pleasant employees who spend a lot of time answering every questions and helping with any fish we choose. Christian is very knowledgeable and helpful. He never makes us feel rushed or a bother. We have shopped here multiple times. Definitely worth the 2 1/2 hour drive.

2021-11-24I’ve been bringing my dog here For a few years. Our last visit was not like the rest. He did not look like he usually does when he comes out of his “spa” day. I chalked it up to maybe the groomer was having a bad day. I wasn’t too happy because the prices are outrageous. Today, I brought my dog for his Spa day again. After waiting 15-20 min at the counter without acknowledgement (there was another couple waiting there also) Jennifer came in the side door and asked if we were helped and went into the back to get someone else. I didn’t get her name but she was very sweet. She asked the normal questions, age, medications. I told her the same thing I tell them every time I have come for the past 3-4 years. He takes a medication for minor seizures. He hasn’t had one in years. I was then told by Jennifer they couldn’t bath him because of his medication. Wait, I’ve been coming here for years with the same medication. I asked her if this was a new policy and she said no. They were never supposed to do it and she would look into it. So, every counter person and groomer for years was going against company policy? I find that very hard to believe. Maybe it was company policy but I do not think for a minute it’s always been like that. So, after my 35 min drive I had to turn around and drive back home. Never will I ever step foot in there again. My advice to anyone is not to tell them the truth about any medication that your babies take even if you’ve told them forever, or maybe there will be someone else behind the counter and it won’t matter.
