If you live outside of the US the duty and taxes are simply not worth it, the jacket i purchased was way off despite following the measurements as it was way too large everywhere and way too boxy something you would see out of a GAP store -not really slim. Seeing as it didnt fit me at all i quickly returned it but it that just cost a ton. i recommend going at least 1 size down for jackets as the sleeves were really long. for it to fit me i would have had to go down 2 sizes since im a slimmer build. Quality of the item was good but for the price you pay is it worth it? a bit overpriced especially since i dont feel like your getting a form fitting piece- they form the jackets to fit as many male body types- which i mentioned earlier as being too boxy. those are my thoughts. i will say customer service has been helpful with questions and concerns i had.
Great shopping experience and so great to find clothes tailored to shorter inseams and shorter arms. Such a nice chance. If the clothes weren’t so expensive, I’d have everything in this store.
Fantastic clothes, beautiful showroom. Have had 2 very different experiences there staff-wise. One person was very charming, helpful, and attentive. The other made me feel like I was a nuisance for asking questions and that he almost didnt want my business and preferred online orders only.
I’m 5’5” with an athletic build and have spent my entire professional life wearing business clothes that just didn’t fit right. In my early career, I couldn’t afford tailoring so I just accepted looking like I was wearing my dad’s shirts.Over time my budget for fashion has increased my height didn’t. I took to ordering shirts from Charles Tyrwhitt which does a 1/2 tailoring thing when you send in your size. The shirts more or less fit but the quality of the cotton didn’t seem high. I developed rashes on my neck when wearing certain of their shirts. During a trip to Paris, I discovered Emile Lafaurie, by far an outstanding men’s clothing line whose product is sold in certain US retailers. The shirts were a near perfect fit even for my size. I bought 6 shirts on the spot. During that same time, a tailor in Istanbul would custom fit all my Hilfiger and Brooks Brothers off the shelf shirts to fit me perfectly. The perfect fitting shirts from this epoch are starting to fray. Enter fashion despair. Was I to return to looking like an 8 year old wearing his old mans work shirts?In December 2019, I was racking my brain on ideas for new shirts I briefly entertained buying some Hilfiger or Brooks Brothers and having a tailor fit them to my frame . I googled “business shirts for short men”. The search turned up two places For the Fit and Peter Manning. I immediately ordered one basic blue shirt from each of them based on each retailers unique sizing methodology. For the Fit came first and I was a bit disappointed. The cotton reminded me of Tyrwhitt. It felt a little like fine sandpaper. A few days later arrived Peter Manning’s no -iron dress shirt. Wow! Perfect fit out of the box. Never. Happened. Before. Thank you for creating a quality niche. I’ve ordered 3 more shirts and a Tribeca field jacket since the first shirt came. Happy to finally have quality shirts for a reasonable price both that fit and are comfortable!
This review is based on my online experience only. It’s nice to have a clothing brand catered to not so tall men which seems to be rare usually. I’m a loyal customer for the brand for many years now even though I live in Canada and pay extra money for shipping and duties. The reason might be a lack of competition. The quality of clothes seems decent except for few pieces e.g. winter jackets which feel cheap because they are made in china. Their chino line actually have somehow pretty good quality as they are made in Portugal. The online downside is that they are not consistent with their measurement. The reason might be that they are working with different factories with various levels of skilled workers. For example, for the same Stretch Twill chino pants in the same colour and in the same waist and inseam sizes, you might get different fit for each piece you order. It can be hit and a miss experience. For example one pair of pants that I received was perfectly fine. However the second pair was extremely tight in waist and felt skinny around thigh area. when they introduced their new light summer chino collection, I ordered it right away. To my surprise, the left leg was super skinny compared to the right leg which was ok. If an item is defected or doesn’t fit well I can’t return them because for us living outside of USA we already paid for international shipping and duties. And we have to pay extra shipping fees if we would like to return their items. So I end up either donating or throwing them away. The online store is usually out of stock of their most popular items and they don’t restock until their big sales season which causes them to miss many business opportunities. This is due to lack of stock management skills. The company needs to hire experienced staff to run their business instead of wasting a lot of money on taking pictures of their models and advertising. I’m writing this review here because they usually delete any less than 4 star review from their website and keep high rated reviews. I have a lot of things to say but seriously wish the company all the best and that they try to improve when it come to running their business.
As a bloke on the shorter side I truly appreciate businesses like Peter Manning helping us out. Has the best range of any of these types of stores with excellent quality products. Do yourself a favor and check it out

After trying on their clothes, I was instantly hooked by how they fitted on a not-so-tall guy like me. Peter and his staff were extremely helpful in not only picking the right size for me, but also recommending the combination that each piece could go with. Kudos to Peter Manning!
Fantastic experience at the Fit Shop! Roberto was very patient and helpful in allowing me to try on several different items. If you happen to be in the area, I would stop by because it definitely helped me decide what size was appropriate.
Had an unpleasant experience in the fitting room, the server is just simply unfriendly.Im a regular customer through online but it was my first time visiting the showroom since I happen to stop by New York for vacation.Came excited, left disappointed.Wanted to give 5* for the always perfectly fitting clothes but the experience is just awful.
Finally, finally finally, finally, this place exists! The exuberance from the customers in the place was hilarious. what! this fits! wow oh. my. god. this is amazing, it actually fits & ive never had anything that fits, this is amazing were some of the few things i heard (and also said my own version of as well!) while i briefly stopped by and picked up some new jeans! Such a splendid staff and every article is a classic design! I love Peter Manning product so much! If you dont try it out, youre truly missing out!
I had a great experience! I made a visit to the store on 12/2/2017. I was shown pants, shirts and jackets that fit me. They were all from the shelves and racks -- thats something that hasnt happened to me before. The Alpha M. channel on youtube is how I heard about Peter Manning and because of that video I made this part of my day-trip to NYC. Thank you Peter Manning for treating us well!!!
The clothes are very good quality and perfect for those who are not 6 feet tall (which is most of the USA really). I believe that they are working on customer service issues and hopefully they will soon be as helpful as other reputable brands.
I had such an excellent experience here. I was greatly assisted by Peter Manning himself, who was beyond friendly and warm. Telling all my smaller statured friends about this classy establishment. Its such a more pleasurable shopping experience when you are so much certain that what you like is going to fit you superbly.
I stopped by the shop this past Saturday, when it was very busy. The salesman, Roberto, was extremely helpful with getting me the perfect size in a variety of items, and just giving general advice on matching each item. Would highly recommend.
If you dont live in the US, forget the mail order service. With the added $25 shipping fee to Canada, $98 jeans become pricey. The denim and quality is the same as Levi 516s which you can buy with an inseam longer than 29 inches and have a tailor shorten for considerably less than $123. You can get them faster, too. My shipment to Canada via UPS took nine days. Not saying Manning jeans are bad, just that theyre way overpriced.
Customer service is terrible in person. The guy there was very confusing and his attitude was very unwelcoming. Didnt let me try as much stuff as I would liked. Told me to my face not to move stuff around. I told him I was taking a look he said, We work here all day. What does that mean? Just completely unprofessional and unwelcoming. I complained to the owner and he was not helpful at all. Didnt apologize, and assured me that this is one of his best sellers. I still bought the stuff I liked, but the whole experience is completely terrible, unpleasant and upsetting.
Went to the store and the 2 guys there unfortunately i forgot their names but, they were very helpful. Im only 51 and was skeptical trying this place out but i was able to buy my first suit ever without getting any alterations done to it .If you are short you should definately check this place out or visit his website they ship fast.Will definately shop here again
As someone who abhors shopping for clothing, PMNYC makes it as painless and easy as possible. Using their 1-4 fitting system (Im a size 2), I have saved hundreds of dollars over the past year by being able to avoid the dreaded tailor tax. If youre in Manhattan, I highly recommend you check out their fit shop.
As someone (at 56) who has struggled for a very long time to find clothes that fit well, I was thrilled when I tried on Peters clothes. Finally there were clothes that actually fit me. If youre short guy who cares at all about how they look, you really owe it to yourself to check this place out.
Look, I’m a short guy (5’8”) and in decent shape. Typical S/M/L usually doesn’t align to my size, or the height of the stuff works and doesn’t scale to my torso/bicep/or whatever. In this brand I’m on the larger end and straddle their 3/4 size. It’s a 1-4 scale.
If your thinking of visiting this store or even shopping online with them I don’t recommend it ,with everything that’s going on in the world we don’t want support businesses that don’t respect their employees,I worked with them briefly and I can really say that it was the worst experience ever the wear house guy that works for them is rude to the customers and employees,the own is debiting if he should pay his employers ,they don’t even give you a break to get and they pay minimum wage for doing everything in the store and online,also they expect you to answer text and emails from them in your day off even if it’s not an emergency ,I definitely regret giving them my time!!
Bought 2 shirts online and they both shrunk after the first wash.Customer care doesnt seem to care about feedback.Still waiting for response to my email.
Peter Mannings NYC space is wonderful. A worthwhile destination in the NYC Flatiron district. Peter was on site. Engaging, welcoming, and simply a nice guy! And, oh yeah, the clothing is spot on for the not-so-tall guy.

First time I ordered was spot on.... second not so much. I ordered black jeans and got a pair that was inches longer than what was ordered.
For me, at 56, Peter Mannings showroom was a delight. Peter assisted me himself in trying on several pieces, which are classic in design, cut and selection and very well priced for their quality, which was higher than expected. It was such an odd and delightful experience to try on several jackets, shirts, sweaters and pants, all of which were the right length off the rack, no tailoring needed. Highly recommended.

This is my favorite clothing company as a business professional who is 5 ft 1 inches tall. The clothes are great quality, the shipping is super fast, the customer services is great, the prices arent cheap, but are fair. The only cons are: 1. they are often out of sizes for periods of time and 2. they have limited selection of colors. PLEASE GET MORE COLOR OPTIONS -- bright colors, some patters. But other than these two things, LOVE LOVE Peter Manning. Give their clothes a try.

2022-04-09Fantastic experience! Ive browsed the website for awhile but was unsure of my size so I decided to take a trip to the fit shop and was not disappointed at all! Laura was extremely helpful and attentive. I left with a complete outfit - shirt, jeans, sweater, jacket. Ill most definitely be ordering from them again!

2021-06-22My absolute favorite clothing shop. I dont live in NY, so I order everything online. My first time ordering I had to return a couple of pieces that didnt fit and it was super easy. Now since I know my size, literally everything labeled as that size fits perfectly, which rarely happens in my experience. Its amazing finally having a place that I know will have clothes that fit me. Its been a lifelong struggle. Quality is also excellent.

It is difficult to find clothes that fit properly without tailoring and at their price point. I just bought a pair of jeans, and a shirt, they fit perfectly well, no adjustments, no rolling up sleeves, fit like a glove. I will basically buy clothes from them as long as they have what I need. I wish they sold everything you need to wear and I wouldnt probably need to buy anything from any other store.---------------------------------------------------Could be better.I came back to New York and looked forward to visiting the store after I got a few shirts and some pants online.I learned that it is a fit shop where you find items that fit and then you order them to receive at home.The employee that helped me, a guy with glasses, was just not nice, period. He either didnt want to be there or maybe thought I was just wasting his time. I really like their clothes but the store experience kinda ruined it for me. Another employee walking by seemed friendlier, She said hello and smiled. If I had just walked in a few minutes before or after perhaps the entire experience would have been different. I just left. There is just no need to go to a store to feel like you are not valued as a customer. I guess I will just buy clothes again online at some point.
