Just moved into the area and have 3 dogs; a Chihuahua & 2 Frenchies, and they all arent too fond of the cold but excited to go on walks in their new hood. -- Came across this store randomly while walking Peepo (Chihuahua) at sunset and the wind was picking up big time. Was tempted 2 order clothes for them online, but Im an IRL/old school kinda shopper across the board. I gotta touch it and see it before buying it. --Anywho, I googled pet stores nearby and this place was the closest around by far, had prety damn good reviews & looked like their selection was right on the mark. - Service was friendly, the selection & prices: good. We tried on two sweaters because hes so small and found the perfect fit. Ill be back soon to get two more for the Frenchies.
Pets on Broadway is your friendly neighborhood pet store. Without having to travel far or shop at a giant chain, I can get everything my Gia needs to be happy and healthy. If they dont have what you want, they order it for you. The staff, including Charlie, are super nice and professional.
Do not use Pets on Broadway for grooming. The groomer will tell you they can do the cut but they cannot and then they will be rude and charge you full price.
This is such a friendly pet store. They value their customers and easy to order with speedy deliveries. My pet was groomed well and even had a mini photo session done. Thank you.

My girlfriend brought our cute little Cavachon in for a grooming yesterday only to find out that the groomers weren’t in. Someone messed up the system and didn’t call to let us know that the groomers weren’t in and we would have to reschedule. Because it was at night I made her Uber both ways costing us 50$ and my dog wasn’t even groomed. Didn’t offer us anything for this huge inconvenience. Horrible horrible horrible. With I could give this establishment no stars. 0/10 recommend.
I looked for a pet store, and I finally found this place. I really need a great man to cut my Pomeranian dogs fur. Two months have passed since the pet shop near my place closed down. My charming dog now desperately needs a groom. Fortunately, the employees of this pet shop answered my questions and managed wonderfully to do the grooming for my puppy.
Sam is the best, most dedicated pet store owner ever! He’s always on time ordering my cats’s special food, always asking how they are and even throwing in a little treat for them at times. He really cares about his clients and he even does pet sitting- my girls love him. I recommend him and the staff at Pets On Broadway any day!
This pet shop is great! They have many items and fairly reasonable. The staff and owner are super helpful, and they have everything I need, particularly high-end food for my pets, which I cant get at the grocery shop or big-box pet shop. We will come back and recommend the pet shop with my friends and relatives!
If you call to book a grooming service they give you a price and in the end, it turns to be more. Also the groomer attitude towards my pet, not the best.If a charge has to be applied you have to inform it before the service not at the end. By the way it was my cat not a dog. And also the nail clipping wasn’t accomplished.
I couldnt give this place more than 3 stars due to the owner of the store. Theres a lot of variety of pet foods and supplements with reasonable prices but the owner rarely has change when it comes to purchase something and has told me to go to a restaurant to ask for change. It has already happened to me a couple of times.
I forget how many years Ive been going here - certainly as long as Sam has worked there. Pets on Broadway has a surprisingly large selection of food, treats and toys. I go there to pick up things for my cats but they have a great selection for dogs and other animals as well.This alone earns PoB a great review. What merits five stars is Sam. In fact, I often joke that they should rename this to Sam’s Place. He’s unfailingly friendly, knowledgeable and consistently goes above and beyond to help. I’ve often called or texted to ask if they have something. If they don’t he’s happy to order it. He even does delivery. In fact, he even once went by my place to feed my kitties when I was stuck and unable to get home! Oh, and his kitties Charlie and Jasmine are adorable and friendly.I’m a die-hard fan of Pets on Broadway and highly recommend them.
I took my dog Juicy to be groomed and she looks beautiful. It took less than an hour when I picked her up she looked soooo different but beautiful at the same time her groomers name is Andrew hes very attentive with the dog which made for an easy process and hes such a sweet person. When and if you decide to go ask for Andrew because hes the best.
Excellent service and results! My dog was calm and absolutely adorable when I came to retrieve her. Will definitely go to these folks again!

My favorite pet store in NYC (and I’ve been to a lot of different ones)! I take the subway there because I’m not in the same neighborhood (though I’m not incredibly far or anything), which to me shows the quality of the store since I wouldn’t go out of my way otherwise. The people who work there are so friendly and knowledgeable, including the feline staff of course!, and the cat food/overall cat selection is excellent. Sam was super kind and went out of his way to help me after my kitty got sick and I went in for the first time. I really appreciated that and his helpfulness in general.

Came in here to get a toy for a beautiful doggy my brother was pet sitting, first of all youre greeted by the friendliest cat ever, he approaches very shyly but then weaves in between your feet, nicest welcome ever! Everything is displayed very nicely and its clear to distinguish what specific pet is catered to in each aisle. Im not sure of his name but the person behind the counter is friendly and super helpful. I went in looking for a toy, walked out with treats too. Even looked around and might just upgrade my fishs tank. Ill definitely be coming back.
We go here all the time for our two dogs. Good selection and if you ask for something that they dont have they will come up with alternative options and/or order it.We have used their grooming services for our Schnoodle several times and have always been very pleased.Petco, Petsmart and other big box places are fine but here you personal service, familiar faces and support a local business.
My favorite pet shop in the city! They both know me and my cats, always have what I need in stock, are very friendly and hop right up to help you if you need it. Plus, you might get to pet Jasmine and Charlie, the two kitties that hang out in the shop.
Such a lovely little neighborhood store. Not a chain, and very reasonably priced (competitive with on-line services!), with a careful selection of quality products for primarily cats and dogs. Sam gives personal service, knows his customers and their pets, and the store cats Charlie and Jasmine are the best welcome team. (Note that its on 149th, between Broadway and the River!)
Since they opened, we have been coming here. We love their selection of dog food and dog treats. If they don’t carry it at the moment, SamWill order it for you and deliver it to your home. Hamilton heights is lucky to have Pets on Broadway. I go weekly, and sometimesJust to say hello and for some free treats which Sam spoils our neighborhood furry four legged friends. My favorite place to shop for all of my pets necessitys. My dog Hennessy loves going there to be groomed. They treat her so nice and always give her treats. They also have a large variety of different healthy dog foods and treats. For anyone living in the area you should definitely go there for all of your pet needs
Pets On Broadway is a wonderful neighborhood pet supplies store. Sam and Mehdi are always friendly and helpful. I have been going for years and they always have what I need for my cat. Highly recommended.
Took my dog in today to get a bath and nail trim today. Such friendly staff and people. They took great care of my chihuahua. Sam the manager is very sweet and charming. Definitely coming back!

Took my 3 dogs to get groomed. Was charged $360 and to my dismay this man completely butchered all 3 of my dogs and skin shaved them entirely to the point none of my dogs were recognizable . Entirely opposite of what was asked. He removed all the hair off their faces and ears. My dogs have been miserable since and scratching non stop. I will never come back here again, I feel like I was robbed!
Love this place! Surprising well stocked for a small space, with our picky kittys favorite food at a good price.Most of all, we go there for the people; both shop cats and humans are always super friendly, welcoming, and helpful :)
Excellent place. Friendly and knowledgeable people who truly love animals. Great prices on food, supplies and grooming. Sam is the best. My dog loves him and even walks towards the store from a block away and walks up to Sam for pets and a treat.
Pets on Broadway is everything you’d hope an independent shop could be. It’s a warm, friendly place with an excellent stock of quality products at competitive prices. And, best of all, the staff gives expert one-on-one service for every animal. I can not recommend Pets on Broadway enough.
This place is very small but has a lot of great things for your pets. I was in need of some kitten milk for some rescue kittens and just wen I thought I had to travel far. I found this nice store tucked away waiting to assist me. The staff was nice too.
Ok, the guy at the register was nice. He told the price for my Yorkies hair cut was going to be $70. I bought my.baby over and the girls in the back told me, $70 to wash and cut, And trim her nails and to buff her nails is another $5. Plus $5 for conditioner sowith tax itll be $87. They mentioned if she bits its an additional $5. Ok $92 total. I show up at 7pm to pick up our 4 legged daughter and the guy tells me $102 (SMH) at this point Im stuck because the job was done. He said that my 3 month yorkie nipped the girl 3 Times, lime really. OK no problem I would never bring my baby to them again....

The grooming service at this pet store is among the best I have ever used. I have a Havanese and a shih-tzu. They have gotten groomed here three times - consistently well done. Havanese is a difficult breed to groom and these groomers know what they’re doing. I highly recommend this pet store.
First time took my puppy for grooming they did a great job
A mediocre pet store where they tell you that they groom cats then if the cat doesn’t walk into the bath by themself, they say the cat is too scared and they refuse to groom them. Incredibly disappointed and should have gone to Petco where it’s cheaper and they actually do their job.
Great variety in treats and foods, plus wonderful grooming and care. Prices are good tooo! Customer service is absolutely superb and shows plenty of hospitality.
Their groomer, Andrew, cut my Chihuahua/Papillon. I am very particular with how I like his hair cut and all I had to do was tell him the basics and he came back looking just perfect. His mood was even different afterwards. Not to mention, it was done in great timing too. I will not take my Munchie to any groomer besides Andrew now!

Great selection of pet food brands. Sam was very helpful. I called asking for a specific brand and size of dog food, he reserved the last bag and had it ready for me to pick it up.

2021-08-03My review is based off the grooming itself and the experience.The experience as a first time customer was less than ideal. Of course no one can predict this would happen but my dog had an allergic reaction to either the products used or a chemical in one of the products. I didnt notice it at the time of pick up in the hustle and bustle of the checkout process but his eyes by the time we got home were swollen shut. I frantically called to get the product names that were used and report his reaction and ask if anything had occurred during the grooming. I highly doubt If something did happen during grooming- sprayed something in his eyes, shampoo/conditioner got in his eyes- they would say it but they offered to give him an eye wash solution if I came in before they closed. My partner and I hurried over and they gave us the eye wash free of charge and they put some in his eyes.The grooming itself was a bit sloppy- He has small tufts of long hair throughout his coat. His eye lashes were cut down and the fur on his neck is like a fade! I asked for the long strands hanging down his ears to be trimmed slightly but they were pretty much cut down to where his ear ends. I paid more for a teeth cleaning and I cant tell if that was done. But I am happy that the groomer recommended the hair cut #7 instead of the #6 because if we had gone with that one - hed look like a naked mole rat.Is my dog okay?He is fine now but the swelling lasted 2 days and he had to take a few halves of benadryl- thankfully he wasnt blinded!Does the haircut look awful overall? At first glance I didnt like it but it grew on me and hair is hair- itll grow back so its fine.Will I go back? Definitely not. Next place I go to Im taking our own products.

2022-01-24The companys website has one price for a bag of food, then I go into the store and buy the bag and Im charged a totally different price. After checking I called the store and they tell me the pet food company just raised their prices. Thats funny because no other retailers are reflecting this sudden 40% price increase. Definitely will never return. Dont shop here unless you love being price gouged

2022-04-16After having a really positive grooming for my mini Australian Shepherd here, I booked a repeat service. I got a phone call from a different person two hours later saying I would need to reschedule my appointment because I was the only appointment and the groomer “couldn’t come in for only one appointment.” Disappointing, and not sure why the previous person would have booked me if that time wasn’t available. Since their scheduling was unable to work around mine, I guess I’ll be looking for yet another groomer or just doing it myself.

2022-03-03I am so disappointed of pets on broadway. I normally take my puppy there but i will not take him there again. I notice something was wrong with my dog because every time i touch his ears he will scream, I notice something brown, gross looking and didnt smell good.There was a little cut and i guess all the ear wax was outside he end up having an ear infection. What bothers me the most is that the groomer never told me anything when i pick him up and never try to even apologized to me. Also that pacticular groomer wasnt as friendley as the other ones.

2022-03-08Brought my overly rambunctious husky Shadow here for his first grooming, I was a bit worried since he can be a bit anxious. I have to say he was well taken care of and he looked amazing upon pickup. They were so good with him, definitely going back.

2021-03-17Bruno loved it!I went to the store looking for food and toys for my need doggie! They were so nice and helpful that I had to go back next day to introduce Bruno (my frenchie), he got groomed and I got him snacks and sweaters, happiest pup ever! The staff is amazzzzing and I can’t wait to go back!Ps: they gave him the cutest little bow after grooming!
