This location is robbed on a daily basis. Theres no security, you need to enroll in the loss prevention program.Prices are going through the roof because you are not preventing this + Im paying the consequences. You never have enough staff on hand, especially Sundays.
Got our dog groomed here (pitbull mix). I would say it was an ok experience. Once I got there, the staff seemed not too thrilled to be working at all. The groomer didnt make much of an effort to greet our dog and just took her away even though our dog was strongly resisting with her tail in-between her legs. I feel that wouldnt have been the case if she just took a second to pet her or give her a treat. We got the Bath & Brush FurMINATOR. I think for the most part, the job was done, but I felt like there was a lot of loose fur just sitting on top of her coat which wasnt pleasant to see after I paid extra for more brushing. I mean it wasnt a terrible experience, but I probably wouldnt come here again.
Recently, I took my dog to get groomed. We had one of the early appointments. Got there on time. The groomer was early and already waiting outside with another customer and their dog. The store was still closed and we stood outside waiting. The groomer called the manager and stated to me that the manager will be there in about 20mins. It was already past my appointment time. Thankfully, it wasn’t raining or freezing, although the dog was cold. The manager showed up almost 25mins late to open the store while we waited outside. The manager walked past us, didn’t apologize, or as a courtesy, even said, “good morning.” It was so inconsiderate and rude! Having customers and your employee stand outside waiting for you to come in to open a store when you have early appointments. Quite unprofessional! The groomer was nice and did apologize, although it was not the groomers fault. The grooming was ok. The poor rating is based on time wasted standing outside 25mins after my appointment time, with no acknowledgement from the manager after being so late. It’s unprofessional.
Got what I needed. Store needs more cleaning, darker lighting then other locations and I know stuff on the shelves change every now and then but come up with a plan to make sure older customers arent confused. Example Blue Buffalo was in two locations: Maybe flexing some products or new locations. If you start a project finish.

**this review is for cat grooming only the store alone is great** I took my long hair cat here for the bath and brush package. I booked the grooming through their online service, they did not have my cats breed so i specified that she was domestic long hair. The grooming service was supposed to include a bath, sanitary trim, paw fur trimming, nail clip, ear cleaning and minimal brushing. Things like perfume were listed as add-ons that i did not request. When i went back to pick up my cat i paid but I did not inspect her until i got home because she was stressed and I just wanted to leave. At home I realized no sanitary trim or paw fur trim had been done, and she reeked strongly of a gross perfume. Her fur did not look like it does when I bathe her, usually it looks fluffy. It was greasy and flat. I cannot prove that she was not bathed but it truly did not seem like she was. When I called to ask why the services were not performed, and to confirm that my cat had been bathed, the woman told me yes I remember your cat being bathed absolutely but then the woman told me that my cat was a short hair Abyssinian and thats why they did not do a sanitary trim or paw trim, proving she had no idea what my cat even looks like. Their system somehow reverted my cats breed to the default. Regardless of this, I checked and the package has the same price and services regardless of what breed you pick, and my cat is OBVIOUSLY a long haired cat, that needed the full package regardless of what breed she was wrongfully listed as. To say they didnt provide full service because on paper she was short hair when in reality she is clearly a long haired cat is preposterous. However they did provide a refund, and her nails were trimmed VERY well. I also saw the cat groomer doing a lion cut on a different cat and she seemed very experienced and skillful. So if you go, clear up the package you are getting and make sure they will provide full service. Maybe in the future i will give them another try because the prices are good and i think the next time they wouldnt make the same mind boggling mistake.
Please do not take u pet to get groom here or stay. So nasty the store staff. The store so messy. The store so dark smells in store and u get a bad vibe. The birds are not being cared for right. Or feed properly etc. I bought 3 birds to get them out of there. They was sick and had to give them love and much needed diet. The tanks dirty. Etc this store so outdated. W all the money banfield hospital makes back there you would think this store would look and be more friendly. EtcI saw 8 diff people stealing and 2 workers just sitting and chatting. So sad
I always love going in petsmart. It is always calm, clean, quiet, and I find everything I need. The salespeople are awesome and have great customer service skills and are warm, welcoming and delightful to speak to. I feel like they care about my pet as much as I do. And they dont even know her.
My whole experience from the very minute I walked in the grooming salon until saying goodbye was one that would deserve more than 5 stars! I had heard wonderful things about Madi. Soon as we walked in she opened the door for us and greeted us with such warmth and love. It was my first visit so I hadnt met any of the groomers but Madis energy and way of interacting with us matched exactly what I had heard about her to be! Warm, loving, light and genuine. My dog can get anxious but her magic touch somehow calmed him. I dropped him off knowing he was in the best of hands and when I picked him up he looked and smelled amazing!!! The best part was how happy he was. Madi I hope you know how much youre loved and appreciated!!! Thank you for taking such good care of my baby! I had asked Madi to go as short as possible. Ive attached two pics of my dog to show you how happy he was when I picked him up and a recent one of how the grooming still looks great.love it!!
Pleasant, helpful staff. Well kept and clean shop.Just found PetSmart does not carry the wide variety of products as other comparable petshops. Theres too much focus on their own line of products, which would be fine if it werent for the discernable tastes of our dog, cat and fish 🤷
This was my first time using their grooming services and I love how they took care of my niece’s dog Lola! I want to give a special thanks to Madi who was so sweet and patient with Lola because she has a bit of anxiety. When I first walked in and saw Madi, it was an immediate positive energy. The place is well kept, the groomers were all at the tables being attendant at work. Very professional, warm and inviting. Thank you so much and I look forward to being a regular here
PetSmart is one of the best pet shops that Ive ever been to. I am highly satisfied with their customer service. The employees are all kind and help you find good stuffs for your pet. They all have complete supplies of pet food, essentials, clothes, toys, etc. The prices are budget-friendly and everything that they sell here is safe and perfect for your fur-babies.My dog got really happy with the new bed that I purchased for him and my cat loves the cat food that I bought for her. I am recommending because for sure, youll gonna love it here.
If you love your dogs dont take them there for grooming, one had a cut that needed vet and staples, the other one came home with a Bunch of little cuts and still full of knots. There was another dog that another groomer threw into a table without being gentle at all. Honestly I wish I had read yelp before I went there. In ten years taking my dogs to groomers this is the first time I see something this horrible.
I will never take my dogs back there... I have two dogs one shihpoo and one labradoodle. Our doodle is 9 months and is still getting used to grooming however, with in a day of coming home from there he developed an eye infection. He also developed diarrhea and was throwing up. We are new to the area and getting him into a vet was difficult.
PetSmart had every product in the store I wasnt looking for, which was a dog house and dog mat. Nor did they have an Human Being to assist me with finding dog items on my first visit at the store. Now, that was PetDumb. But I did find a cute pink dog coat and healthy dog food and treat.
I walked in right behind another customer she gets the welcome to Petsmart. I initially thought she didnt see me. But the cashier did! Looked at me and turned away to keep working on her display. Honestly if I could find this dog food anywhere else besides Amazon I would be extremely happy.
Nice location near downtown Brooklyn. Staff is helpful and friendly and I love the variety of cat toys. Unfortunately they dont carry the type of Wellness cat food other than the pate it seems, but I do like to shop in other locations which have what my cat eats. The prices are reasonable no matter the store and PetSmart is one of my favorite stores where I prefer to make my purchases.
Im sitting here waiting for my dog to get done with his bath and stuff. All staffs are amazing patiently serving us and able to communicate with deaf in a lot of gestures and more less communication in written. There are a few cats that Im looking at are ready to be adopted..LOL!
This store can be a little tough to get to if you drove. And, it is a dirty and unorganized looking store. The floors appear to be discolored and the overall appearance is drab. I only point this out because so many other competitors have brightened and refreshed their appearance. The staff was nice and knowledgeable and relatively helpful.
I love this store. The store is so clean and the staffs are very friendly too. They have a clinic,grooming salon, training for dogs adoption center for cats and much more. The place is so big and it has a lot of space. I will give it 10 stars cause it’s a very wonderful place for my dog and of course myself. And I also forget the groomers are very professionals and very friendly.their groom my dog so nice and clean(no left out hairs and etc).And they trimmed my dogs claws and they cut it short. Horrible service at benfield hospital location Atlantic avenue. Extremely rude people at reception desk. Total nightmare.bill have never seen such unprofessional rude employees in my entire life. I will not recommend this place even if it is a natter of life and death. Please stay away from this place. I will never ever walk back to be field hospital at Atlantic avenue location. My appointment made three weeks in advance was not properly recorded by their staff. Instead of apologizing and behaving professionally trying to make it up, I was repeatedly insulted and accused of lying about an appointment made three weeks in advance. I have never felt so insulted in any place the way I was treated inhumanely and insulted at Be field hospital of per smart ayatlantic avenue. I would stay away from these unprofessional people for the rest of my life and I would not recommend this place to my worse enemy.
I absolutely love this store! I have never had an unpleasant or unwelcoming experience at this store (virtual knock on wood). The employees are warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. If I have a question they answer me with clear and concise answers. I never feel weird about leaving my dogs with their grooming services staff, either. This is a great place and they make me feel like I have a strong and firm professional network for my dogs.
I love the staff. They helped me find everything that I needed for our new pets, taught me what was needed for them and was super nice and helpful to me and my boy. Excellent customer service. Store is clean and fully stocked. Perfect place to buy all our needs for our fish and birds.
Great store. Varied and wide selection of a multitude of products for birds, cats, dogs, ferrets, fish, hamster, etc. veterinarian inside. Groomers available as well. Cant go wrong. FYI: always check the website to compare prices online with the store and get a price reduction based on the item that is more affordable online. 50/50 on employee staff.
I went to pick up an extra large dog pillow that I ordered through the app. The cashier brought it out with no packaging whatsoever and held it to me saying its not heavy. I have to take bring it home on a bus. I asked her for packing tape so I can at least roll it up and tape. She found the tape, let it on the counter and walked away. Not only is the pillow huge, I have a disability (multiple sclerosis). I struggled by myself to wrap up the item on the floor while she was hanging out at the entrance of the store to talk to her friend. Beyond unprofessional!
My dog was perfectly fine until i took him to get groomed and they addressed his eye were red and swollen then i realized it was sticking out and he’s crying in pain not once did she call me to tell me something was wrong until i picked up my dog. dog eye is bulging out and he can barely see either she poked him with scissors and soap went into his eye .
Grooming on busy days is atrocious. I paid for a pawdicure plus and the nail grind was haphazard and there was no paw hair trim, the ear cleaning was barely done and there was tons of gunk left in my dogs ears, the associate told me he wouldnt let her brush his teeth so she just gave him breath spray (so, I basically paid $6 for a spritz of canine Binaca), there was no cologne spray or bow/bandana given which I was ok with, but dont put it as part of the package if you arent going to do it. We bought a bag of kibble and a food and water feeder tray, too. The prices for both items were higher than the website prices by 10% for the food and 18% for the tray. I didnt notice until I got out of the store. I had to go back in and let them know and was asked, so, you want a price match? Why else would I tell you? The only reason this is a 2 instead of a 1 is because the first time I went to get my dog groomed there, it was done perfectly (still without the bow/bandana or cologne, but that is fine). Disappointed in the customer service at this place.
Good place for large selection and reasonable prices, including Royal Canin prescription foods. The drawback is the turnover in cashiers and managers. Some of them are good, some arent. The grooming business must be really profitable because they push it hard. Im told that they do not book dogs and cats for the same time slots, so you wouldnt be able to bring in a cat for grooming on the weekend. There is a veterinarians office on the premises.
Wanted to get my cats nails trimmed. Called few days ago and was told appointments are booked online, went online and it says nail trim are walk in service, no appointment needed. I went to the store and the person there said the cat groomer is not here today. I asked him when the person will be here and he said there isnt a fix schedule and Ill have to call before I come.Definitely not what you call a walk in service. Very disappointed.
This location is clean, and they usually have the kind of small animal food I need in stock. It’s a hard brand to find in the smaller stores around the city, so this is the place I go when I need to grab a bag on the first try.It’s not super close to a train, unfortunately, if you’re buying anything relatively heavy. Most lines that run through the area are about a ten minute walk away. There is a paid parking garage around the corner if you’re driving, though.
My experience was phenomenal. I called to see if it was ok to walk-in, with my dog, to have his nails clipped/grinded. Without hesitation, I was told yes. When I arrived about 20 mins later I was greeted by the most cheerful and helpful woman (and Im so mad I cant remember her name). Because Id been to other PetSmart locations she looked at my account, told me what vet records were needed for NYC and then proceeded to enter that information as we continued to talk. I was impressed to see a pet grooming salon full of amazing women, all grooming dogs. Everyone was super nice and friendly. After my dog was returned to me, I was given advice on the frequency of which I should get his nails clipped since they grow so long. Overall, I had a great visit and will definitely visit this location again.
I came here years ago to get my puppy groomed and I had a bad experience. I tried to give them another chance today by making a last minute grooming appointment at 10:30 AM for a 1:00 PM groom. The lady promised that the guy who did a bad groom on my dog no longer works there. He still does. I called at 11:45 to cancel my grooming. The receptionist called back at 2:15 stating I had a 12:45 groom. I told her that we canceled over an hour ago. She said no one called, she asked who I spoke with and I said Im sure it was you. She was very nasty and shes definitely liar. 100 dollars for a groom that takes 4-5 hours!! BYE. I definitely wouldnt give these people another chance. ( FYI the guy who is STILL employed there is super mean and impatient with the dogs Ive seen it with my own 2 eyes)
This was my first time in this store. It was great. The store was clean, well lit and I especially enjoyed the pet adoption center. I like that theres a vet on site and large varieties of food and pet toys and furniture. I did some Christmas shopping for my cat there and I will be a regular customer.
PetSmart is ideal for animals and their caregivers. All manner of animal products are sold here including dog biscuits, dog pads and many other items. Banfield Pet Hospital is also located in PetSmart where animals receive checkups and are well cared for by the staff. Its located in the Clinton Hill section of Brooklyn, NY at 238 Atlantic Avenue and is near to Trader Joes. Accessible via the 4 train (get off at Borough Hall) and also by bus (B63, B45).
Great variety and prices for cat food. The latest time I went in the computer system was down so they had to manually calculate the discounted cans of cat food. I can’t speak for the grooming or vet services though. I wish they had more fresh fridge cat food but they added several new and healthy brands which is a positive.
The people here were very friendly and helpful. I came for an adoption, and although I did not adopt from them on the occasion, I definitely plan on returning. The staff were helpful and gave advice, they really seemed to care about helping me and not just doing bussiness. Definitely would recommend just based on how great the staff were.
This location requires you to carry pet subscription from the vet and the other location in green acres the same food doesnt require one and is sold on the shelf...My Purchase was denied for this reason. However explaining my cat is on a permanent uti /food diet still yielded no results reason was the screen for scanning a prescription comes up and I wouldnt dare try theyre overly priced pet visit. His regular vet visit is cheaper ...
Nov. 25, 2017I came here for the first time with hubby to get cat food. had ordered everything online. Unfortunately they didnt have the things I wanted in stock in Manhattan.First Impressions? Huge store bigger than Manhattan and in my opinion much better atmosphere.The cashier was very nice.This review really goes to Manager Kelly because she came to our aide and was extremely helpful. She got our pickup orders very quickly. They had a sale if you buy any bag of cat food you get any litter 50% off. I had ordered 2 bags. She only the 50% off. I was very happy!Unlike Manhattan store where it seems to be unfriendly everytime i shop ther, the service at this Brooklyn store was fantastic. Very welcoming and on point. If I could give this store 100 stars I would!! I will be back. Thank you Kelly!
I was so happy with the services my son Nubes received in the grooming salon. Courtney was great with Nubes and he was happy when I went to pick him up something that didnt happen in something that didnt happy on his prior hair cut. (some other place). He looked very handsome with his new hair cut.
I came in knowing what types of items I needed for my cat with bladder blockage issues to help prevent future problems, but I didn’t know what brands or models to get. Scott was incredibly helpful in taking me to each section I needed to visit, giving me advice from both his personal and professional experience and making my store visit a positive and efficient one. I will be a repeat customer for my monthly pet needs!
I can usually count on them to have my Dwarf African Frogs which is great. Negatives are that when you call to find out if they are in stock, the phone rings and rings and you have to hang up and call back. Also, I once got a DAF here that made the whole tank sick so they all died. Now I know to keep new frogs quarantined in their own tank for 6-8 weeks. The staff tends to be fairly nice, not always as knowledgeable as I would like though. The store is clean and well stocked. All in all, a mostly positive experience.
I believe my dog was abused at this practice when I brought her to get grooming services, they were extremely rude from the beginning a small guy that may clean the dogs in the back said I was 2 minutes early to my appointment when the groomer was about to start another dog (which she couldn’t finish in 2 minutes) I should have left after this.Don’t be fooled by the open layout, they can still be mistreated in the back where they give them a bath.
I took my cat to pet smart on Atlantic ave in Brooklyn. Courtney S was his groomer and she did a fantastic job on my cat.Trimmed his claws, cleaned his ears, bath and trimmed his fur beautifully. Courtney is patient and very friendly. Looking forward to bringing tom back in December. I recommend this salon and Groomer Courtney S. I give Courtney a 10.
5 stars for the fish section. Every fish and frog Ive bought here were great and healthy. The tanks are always clean and the fish are lively.I made the mistake of buying animals from 3 petcos, all were sick or diseased and even killed my beloved healthy fish and frogs. Its a little out of the way for me compared to the otherPetco locations, but I will only buy fish from here. Petco turned my aquarium into the tank of death.Also, staff is always nice and available when you need them. Prices seem cheaper as well, but Im not sure if it was like a store wide sale when Im there.
I have great respect for the grooming staff especially the way they greet the owners and their pets (dogs & cats). Also, the Banfield staffs, their colleagues and the doctors that truly respect their profession in giving all that they have towards caring for their patience & owners. SUCH A BEAUTIFUL BLESSING.
I went here when I first adopted my cat to get pet supplies. The manager taught me how to pick foods for a cat, what sort of things you need to have abs what you can skip on, and how to keep a cat entertained so it doesnt get destructive. As someone who never owned a cat before, this help was invaluable.
This PetSmart has all the products you could want from a pet store. When you add that to the great services they also provide, such as grooming and puppy training, it really stands on its own. Whether your little buddy is a dog, feline, reptile or bird, you will likely find what you need here.
Nice pet store. They have plenty of inventory and everything is always in stock. They offer grooming and also have adoption for cats. Adult cats can be adopted in singles, but my only issue is that they require you to adopt kittens in pairs. Although I understand the reason for this for the cats sake, so they have companionship, but not everyone is in a position to to adopt 2 at a time. Obviously it is double the costs of food, litter, and most importantly, vet bills. I go with my girlfriend all the time to get food and litter for our guy, and love to hang with the kittens for a few. Too bad Ill never be able to adopt 2 of them.
My dog visited the Banfield vet in this Petsmart for a well visit. When we arrived for the scheduled appointment the waiting area was chaotic. The only employee was trying to start her computer and set up her cash drawer, no one was waiting on clients. There were 5 dogs and 1 cat in the small waiting area, and a human ended up stepping on my dogs paw. She was screaming in pain, and no one came to see what was happening. When I advised that the well visit was now an emergency they finally took us into an exam room, where the aide tried to sell me a wellness plan. When I asked her if we could do that after my dog (who had been injured in their facility due to their negligence) had been treated, she was quite put out and became extremely unpleasant. The vet came in 30 minutes later and told me it would be $300 for x-rays. NEVER greeted my dog or even looked at her. We argued over who should pay for the next 1 1/2 hours, telling me they were not responsible as the dog had not yet been released to their care, and that it would take 2 days to get the results of any x-ray because he was not an expert in reading x-rays. (!) This company only cares about sales, the employees DO NOT care about pets. DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE IF YOU WANT QUALITY CARE.
Think twice before getting your dog groomed at Petsmart!We took our newly adopted rescue dog in to be cleaned. Explicitly asked Charissa not to cut her hair, as she was improperly groomed when we got her and we wanted her coat to grow in fully.When we picked her up, her hair was cut! Not only did they remove what was left of her coat that was starting to grow in, but she was also groomed incorrectly for her breed. They misclassified her as the wrong breed which would be obvious to anyone who works with pets all the time.We also had an appointment specifically with Kiel, but he never showed up, perhaps why we had the issue when Charissa did the grooming instead.
The Atlantic ave location is terrible. Line is always long. They also make me feel uncomfortable,I can’t speak for everyone. I have turtles, birds and a dog, so when I come in the store I need to shop for a few items and also see what’s new. The staff follows people of color, not greeting you for assistance, but following. I also overheard one of the ladies on the headset as I was going to a different isle. The Gateway location is better.
I am not a fan of PetSmart. They have very strict rules that they enforce when you come in but on the phone they dont tell you about them. I had a Sunday appointment to get my dog groomed and when I got there they wouldnt do it without proof of rabies vaccination. My dog has a current rabies tag on her collar but they wouldnt accept it. I asked if I could provide proof on Tuesday when the vet is open next, and they said no. This isnt the first time this has happened. A couple months ago I called to make sure they had my dogs prescription dog food in stock and they said yes, but made no mention that a written prescription form was required to purchase it. So I went there for nothing.In each case the person on the phone at PetSmart failed to inform me of the stores requirements. Meanwhile, out of the several groomers we have used over the years in our neighborhood, none besides PetSmart has ever asked for proof of rabies vaccination. And theres at least one other store in the hood that will sell the food without the written prescription.Shame on you PetSmart. You are so customer-unfriendly. Why dont you post a security guard at the door to make sure that every entering dog has up-to-date rabies vaccinations?
I went and bought my fish, Oliver, here and when I went to check out I had a gift card on my phone. The cashier was extremely rude and told me that they dont accept digital gift cards even though I had it on my phone with a barcode. I asked to see the manager and he came out and said that they would take it and scanned my phone but the cashier was being super defensive and pretty rude saying that he didnt know they took digital ones and never once apologized. The rest of the staff was nice and the building was clean but that one cashier really made me upset.
I took my Milo in for pre exam for his teeth cleaning. The ladies at the desk was so welcoming and pleasant. The place is clean and inviting. The tech was gentle and patient with him, hes anxious about seeing the doctor. The doctor my oh my, was grntle,patient and informative. I really appreciate that speaks for those who cant. I really live this place.
This Pet Smart is pretty big! And Ive always prefered it over prefered it over Petland. They have tons of pet supplies I cant find anywhere else, not to mention they do dog grooming and have a dog disciplining class of sorts *this was new to me last time I went* nonetheless, you can find most of anything your looking for pet wise! Give this place a go!
I once spent like 30 minutes comparing cat foods here. Pretty nice selection. Blue Buffalo or ScienceDiet? Both display a healthy gimmick, so I performed a long and thorough comparison. In the end I went with ScienceDiet and a week or two later my cats started throwing up in various places around the apartment. When I accidentally stepped in a puke puddle this morning I thought, Maybe I shouldve got the Blue Buffalo.
This store isnt great with customer service and the groomers are by far the worst . Go somewhere else ! Sheesh go to a petco before coming here . The groomers Charissa and I forgot the other persons name that was there it might of been Kyle or something else , but yeah avoid them at all cost. Don’t even try calling because obviously no one knows how to pick up a phone there !
My experience Grooming my puppy,OMG the worst place to take your dog, rude, unprofessional, charge extra money and didn’t prove why, my dog stink, when I got there they were all sitting playing with their hair instead of paying attention to the puppies. If you don’t like your job get another one.... I got my dog he was still shaking I’m so stressedThey don’t deserve one star
Came here looking for some whisker lickins treats as my older seems to like them more than the other treats. First time at this location and they only had 3 bags left. This location also has a veterinarian there plus grooming and adoption for kitties. Didnt see many today so hopefully there were lots adopted. 😺
The best pet store.When I came in i knew nothing about fish, except that I want a tank, Andy the representative was very helpful and explained everything to me and helped me choose the right tank for the right fish and the right accessories.Best costumer experience ever.i bought a bigger tank today from this store, eithan is the best, he is very knowledgeable and helped me pick the right tank and accessories
This brand store has a large selection but prices are on the high range. Theres other pet stores like Petco, Pet Land or even smaller Mom and Pop shops that can give you a better price for the same items. Its ok if you have the money to spend like that but smart shopper can get more bang for their buck if they go else where. At times this store has a small number of workers and you end up taking longer looking for your pet needs.
I had called to ask for an item grass for my cat , Wich is sometimes hard to find the staff member assured me it would be there and it was , also he assisted me with the purchase of Blue Buffalo hairball treatment cat food ,I as impressed with the service when I reached the store
I went here for my fist time. My first impression was terrifying. I was afraid to leave my puppy. The way they handle the dogs is questionable. I will not be bringing my puppy here. They recommended shaving my dog and I think it was because it was the easy thing to do and the most expensive. The girl had such an attitude. I was very upset when I picked up my puppy . I was in tears.
I definitely agree that the PetSmart staff here are racist. I took my dog in for grooming. Came in a happy mood and some female snapped at me and my family. I had made an online reservation and snapped at me because she was about to clock out. She wasnt going to stay for a a stupid dog her precise words towards her other female coworker right in front of me and my family as well. I lost my respect for PetSmart Ive heard similar stories. I have reached out to their managers yet nothing, nor an apology was made.
FIRST OFF, it has never costed me $60+ to get my 3-pound toy poodle groomer until coming here. Even at the last pet smart I used to go to back home. Also, for some reason they think its ok to set up automatic grooming appointments and then they get an attitude because youre at work when they call you saying um you have a grooming appointment today. Its not my fault that I didnt schedule the appointment. And then when I inform them that I never scheduled an appointment, I get oh, so you want to cancel your appointment? Ok its canceled THEN HANGS UP ON ME.Is that necessary? If I inform you that Ive never scheduled this appointment since my dog just got groomed already, why get an attitude with me? And the groomer that called about this wasnt even the groomer I would have selected for the appointment because shes too rough with the animals every time I see her there.
My father and I drove by this place and we stopped at a red light. Looking into the window we saw a female groomer PUNCH a small poodle that was struggling against her during a grooming session!! DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PET HERE UNLESS YOU ARE WATCHING. I called 311 to report it but they told me since its animal abuse that we have to file a police report. I pray that your animal has not gone through harm at this pet smart because that Latino lady was EVIL
Just move to NYC with my 2 years old Shih Tzu and wanted to have him a grooming. Made a booking online, but when I arrive they refused to serve him because of his vaccinations : the document I have is both in English and in Thai (as I was living there before) and they refused because it was not only in English which is quite surprising as this is the document I used at the immigration and the Custom people are totally fined as it is both in English and in Thai. Anyway, I guess I will not try again this place for grooming.
Clean store with friendly peoples all over..My casheir was so nice and socal with me ask did I find what Im looking for ect..and had a smile to brighten up someone day..She was humble and real not faking at all.Even Had everything I was looking for my red ear baby slider turtle.This location is very big they have so much items to choose from even have a pet dog grooming station and also you can adopt cats here to..Love this store and will definitely be going back soon to by more things for my turtle...
This review is ONLY about the grooming salon, not the store.WARNING- DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG TO KATHLEEN THE GROOMER HERE!!!!!She RUINED my dog!! I cant even look at him. I brought my dog in yesterday for a 10am appointment (which she was late for.) And boy do I regret it. I brought a clear picture of what I wanted him to look like (pic of him cut the way I liked) which Kathleen didnt seem to pay any attention to. I asked her multiple times if she wanted me to email it for reference and she repeatedly told me she knew what I was looking for. (I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH-KATHLEEN HAD NO CLUE WHAT I WANTED AND ENDED UP DOING COMPLETELY HER OWN THING!) I stressed that I was particular and she assured me she knew what I wanted. She said it would take 3 hours, but it actually took 6. Not professional but understandable. We called at least twice while he was there to check up on his progress which the staff claimed was fine. Needless to say it WASNT. My girlfriend went in to get him and as soon as he came out a wave of anger came over me. SHE HAD SHAVED MY GOLDENDOODLE DOWN TO THE SKIN IN A FREAKING BLIZZARD!!!!! He looks terrible! She shaved his LEGS down to the skin as well!!!!!! Which is NOT the correct way to cut a doodle. Then my girlfriend informed me that WITHOUT CALLING OR ASKING US they decided to go over him with a shorter blade than we had requested. We called this place MULTIPLE times, they couldnt mention to us then that they were having issues? Pathetic and inexcusable. She obviously had no idea how to cut a goldendoodle and instead of informing us that she was incapable, she decided to use MY dog as an experiment. SHAME ON YOU KATHLEEN! I literally was in tears as soon as I saw him. He looks absolutely disgusting and there isnt a single person who saw differently. She basically gave him the complete opposite of the cut I asked for. Which was actually way MORE work than the groom I PAID her to do. Im beyond upset. I demanded a refund, which I got, but that doesnt give my dog his hair back. Also my girlfriend gave her a 20$ tip that she did not in ANY WAY deserve. Kathleen is a completely incompetent groomer. If she were my employee I would fire her in a heartbeat. Please do not take your dog to Kathleen. Now I have to buy my dog a jacket because he is freezing outside. People used to stop us to say how beautiful he is but since his cut yesterday he has only been stopped by one person who commented on how I needed to find a new groomer. Obviously I will never ever go back to Kathleen the ruiner of beautiful dogs!
Staff are friendly but every time I buy a fish from here, I end up bringing some disease back with me. A month ago I bought 2 gouramis and had an ich infestation in both my set ups at home. After curing this I bought 2 angels last week, now my big community tank is devastated with fin rot and Im losing fish by the hour. 5 fish down overnight.
What a horrible place. Brought my two dogs in for grooming. Left thinking everything would be ok. Got an emergency call 1/2 hour later. Apparently my dog had just begun bleeding from the nose. I pushed harder and turns out the groomer lost patience with my sweetheart and smacked her on the nose. I almost called to police to put in a formal complaint. Stay away from this generic factory of a wanna be groomer.

2022-05-11Im so grateful for Franklyn our trainer! As a first time dog owner and especially since Benji is a large energetic puppy, it was important for me to sign up for classes asap. Throughout our beginner, intermediate and advanced classes, Ive seen improvements in how Benji walks on leash, and acts around distractions which are his biggest issues. Franklyn introduced key concepts in positive reinforcement training and rewarding with play and treats and have supported me by answering my questions while my puppy grows up. I appreciate having a consistent schedule for practice and plus Benji has so much fun in class and were strengthening our bond, its a win win situation! Great value, were starting brain games training tomorrow!!

2022-01-24Upon entering this place, it almost feels like two different stores under one roof. To the left, are neat and well-stocked isles of dog treats, foods, and accessories. To the right, is a much smaller feline section that is rarely neat and often low in many items, from food to toys. I appreciate that they offer a large variety of cat food brands, but it would be better if the foods were actually in stock consistently. Oftentimes there are entire areas of shelves that are empty or sparse of cat food. This is not a new thing-- its been like this for years. Personally I have been coming to this location for many years for my aquarium needs, since they also carry a decent variety of aquarium plants and quality fish food. The fish, reptiles, birds and cats that are kept here all look healthy and well except for the Betta fish. Not so much for these poor babies. Like many chain pet stores, the Betta fish are kept in very poor conditions. There are veterinary services, adoption and grooming services at this location, which is a huge plus. Overall a decent store that with some essential improvements could be a great store.

2021-12-19I have Kiara taking care my dog and I loved the way she was trying to get his attention my dog always bark or growls to people but she got him with no problem, overall grooming was great am so happy for job she did with him. Customer service with her was great.

2021-10-23The worst grooming experience ever, when I arrived I had an appointment for a bath, brush and nail grind I decided to upgrade to a full cut and bath. Worst decision ever, the groomer available was Michelle (from her reaction when I asked to upgrade to a full cut it was obvious that she didnt want too but she was the only groomer available to do a full cut) lets just say she butchered my baby It looks as if my 10 year old niece gave my baby a hair cut. His face was cut uneven, it seems as if she forgot to cut two of his nails on his right paw and his tail looks horrible not to mention she cut him way too low and uneven. If Michelle is the only groomer available avoid booking with her. Overall this was a horrible experience. Update after further review my fur baby has several little knicks on his belly and under his arms from where the groomer cut him too low with the clippers avoid this place if you love your fur babies.

This is the largest bag they have of this product… I go to the register and ask for a bag and the employee very unprofessionally goes NOPE! and as I try to ask her for any assistance or creative ways she can give to carry this product out of the store she makes it clear she does not care and stands there dumbly… pet smart an entire store full of three isles of large products in New York City knowing most of their clientele is going to be walking with the product does not have any means to transport large bags of dog food that is absolutely not true…. she was such a disrespectful and lazy person a simple tape would have helped which I asked for and she’s says well there isn’t any around me so… and then when I flag that that’ll be really hard she goes you could walk all the way to marshals to get a bag for $1…. Like Lmaoo who hired you!?? even just saying sorry were out of the tape would’ve been more decent…. I nonetheless politely left and then as I struggled absolutely no one helped me open the door or anything while an employee literally stood next to me and watched my struggle to hold the door open with my feet for my dog with the huge bag… my poor dog was terrified as I traveled home with her I WAS terrified getting us home safe they all just stood around all five employees stood by the entrance and gossiped… again who hired you!??? Will definitely be calling tomorrow to complainI do want to clarify that every other time I have gone here , I have had above and beyond amazing services everyone who is working there tonight I don’t recognize and I am shocked they do compared to the rest of the staffUPDATE: on a brighter note my dog REALLY LOVES this kibble so definitely recommend!

2022-04-22This review is specifically about the dog training classes at this location.The puppy training class is six sessions, but I pulled my puppy out after two sessions. The trainer seemed knowledgeable, but scattered and disorganized. In both sessions we attended, the trainer was late to begin and late to end the classes. In the second session we were supposed to learn about leash training (which my dog REALLY needed) and instead the trainer spent most of the class focused on one particular dog and all the tricks he could already do. Because my dog was shy and nervous the trainer seemed disinterested in working with him. The trainer also spent part of the session doing catch-up with a dog and owner who had missed the first class. My dog received little attention. It wasnt until 10 minutes before the class ended that he finally started the lesson (even after other clients had prompted him multiple times throughout the hour).There was also a very large puppy in the course that scared my small puppy. It really hindered my dogs training being that he was too afraid of this rambunctious dog twice his size running at him full speed. I think puppies should be segmented by size and/or energy levels.We did not return after the second session because it was a waste of time and money. Im so disappointed.

2021-09-14The groomer is so unprofessional! I added a note that this is a westie puppy that you need to give her westie style haircut. My boy friend bring our puppy there and they recommend a medium long which is No.5. I bet the groomer never treat a westie puppy before. You just cannot do this to a longhair breed westie puppy. She has double layers fur which protect her skin. It results the outer layer is totally gone!

2022-04-09Groomer and staff were rude and very unprofessional. I was charged $20 more than the price on their website when I booked the appointment. No extra services were performed. When I inquired as to why the price was different, the cashier was very short with me and said I dont know, its not my job. Ask the groomer. So I asked the groomer who said I must have booked my dog under the wrong breed. I went in to the booking site to see the price if I booked again and it was still the original quoted price. My dogs cut was not as I had requested. She was all but shaved with a clipper. I couldnt figure out why they were so much cheaper than other area grooming salons. Now I know why. Do yourself and your pet a favor and go to a professional groomer and pay more for the service. It will surely be worth it.
