Love the chain of stores. Shop there all the time. My ownly complaint would be the same for every pet store out there, they dont have a big enough cat section. Theres aisles of dog toys but usually one for cats. Someone needs to open an all cat store and put a small aisle of dog stuff in the back corner of the store.
My puppy attended the Puppy Kindergarten 6-week course with Ryan A. It was a great beginner class. You learn basic training for a new puppy. The trainer, Ryan was great! He gave details about why certain actions are important with puppies. I plan to take the next level course with Ryan.
Horrible. Brought my dog in just for their nails to get cut. Should only take 5-10min tops. The salon was empty when I walked in mind you. Long story short, 30min later my dogs’ nails were still getting cut…Had the absolute worst person keeping me informed. Barely said hello when I walked in. Don’t know how they have a JOB. I went at 2:30pm on a Sunday. I’ve gone before at 9:00 in the morning and had no problem and the team was very friendly. Do NOT go to this location unless it’s the morning hours. The staff in the afternoon was god awful. The service I received was pathetic.
Hello my experience at pet smart has been great .i have had trouble keeping my fish tank water clear .ryan asked what i was doing. on cleaning it . i explained mt procedure .ryan explained i was draining to much water and i was cleaningb the gravel to much. .then adding the water but not adding a bacteria starter and feeding them to much. .i have followed hid advice .now tank much better. .THANK YOU RYAN so much. truly trained well
Horrible experience. Staff in the grooming area very rude and disrespectful. They cancel appointments at the last minute. Amanda , one of the groomers, is very nasty and lacking in people and dog skills. Will be taking my business elsewhere. I will be talking to corporate about my experience.
Large pet store mainly go for fish and cat supplies. My half moon male betta which cost around $10. Only lasted three days in my fish tank. He was the only fish I purchased that trip that didnt stay alive. Here what the tank looks like now. All the plants and gravel came from this location as well.
I have no problem with this store. However was not impressed with the in store pick up/curb pick up. Just recently got a guinea pig and placed a pick up for supplies after I got out of work because its right there. I guess the computer went down and they didnt have time to do my order yet nobody contacted me. I stopped anyways wondering what was going on and ended up just pickin everything up myself.
I just adopted a new dog today and wanted him to have a new coat and a bed. So I also got him a jacket with a hood, a winter coat, a doggie bed and some oatmeal shampoo/conditioner combo. To soothe his skin. Im very please with my purchases. This Pet Smart is in the Walden Ave Price Rite and Target Plaza. Near the Mall. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I truly love going in there.
On my dogs last day, we didnt know what to do. It was rainy out but we wanted him to see humans and other doggies. So we took him to Petsmart to smell all the treats and pick some out. We were approached by a couple of employees, asking how old Dirk was. I broke down and they immediately said we could have whatever treats for Dirk. We picked out chicken and sweet potato treats and little freeze dried chicken treats. They brought us to the area where they have the dog training lessons and thats when they grabbed their iPad and took photos. They took photos with our phones too. Told us we could stay as long as we wanted.Honestly, the staff at Petsmart on Walden was just absolutely amazing and comforting. They pet Dirk and gave him all the lovings he deserved. They genuinely cared about us and Dirk and the situation. I am forever grateful that they got such great pictures of us.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would ! I went into this location a few weeks back to book a grooming appointment for my dog who has been to this location one other time before. I even told them I was going on vacation so this was the only day that worked for me! In his profile it shows he has to get an express grooming service due to him having a seizure in the past. My Vet told us it wasn’t nothing to be concerned about. I understand the stores policy great! Get to the 10:15 appointment that was scheduled weeks ago !!! Under the same profile I was checked in with today ! I was told by Janet with a nasty attitude my appointment had to be rescheduled for an express appointment instead of a regular appointment. Even tho I came into the store and made the appointment with one of them ! Who should of booked the correct appointment ! Poorest customer service I’ve ever received . Want to speak to a manager ? Better off speaking to your pet or a wall I will be speaking to the corporate office about my experience I will not be returning to this location again.
Thank you for helping me during our daughters medical emergency. After bringing our new emotional support dog there for her first visit, which staff was super helpful with, another staff ran out to the sidewalk when my daughter had a medical emergency and helped walk her to my car safely. I will forever be grateful... and to the other family that assisted us also!!! Ty ty ty
I can usually find prettyich what Im looking for, but I swear the shelves are never truly fully stocked. Im sure they run out of stuff faster than they can stock the shelves as its a busy location, but I get frustrated when I cannot find exactly what Im looking for and have to use an alternative. Im looking at you, flea and tick prevention section 👉
******CUSTOMERS BEWARE*******I took my dog there in December everything was fine his hair cut was good. I had no issues. The second time I took my dog back they canceled his appointment and I rescheduled. Due to rescheduling they said they were going to give me 10 dollars off. Which they didn’t do and over charged me more than what I set him up for. It was busy and they said they’ll call me when he’s done. I dropped him off to get a trim and they did a rush job and botched his hair cut. Even cut him twice. He was anxious the whole time after his haircut. I do not recommend bringing your dog there.
I Come here for most of my pets needs , been using Sam as our groomer for years , I’d be lost without her .... Like if there were to be a world pandemic and all stores close down and your forced to cut your own dogs hair and they walk around and people start calling them FALKOR from never ending story 😔Yea like that ....Sam your the best part of pets mart they are lucky to have you as a groomer and so are we :)Love Cakes
Lets start with a massive mess. I have taken my dog there before to get her nails done.I called to set a new appointment and was asking if they needed anything from me. They hung up on me!!!! Called back once I calmed down to see what was going in and make an appointment, was told my dog was not in their system and I needed paperwork. When I told them she should be in the system because I had the receipt from her last visit. Was told I still needed the paperwork. I setup the appointment and about 2 hours later my wife gets a text Your appointment has been cancelled.Called them again, was told they never showed it being cancelled and I had no appointment on their book, MADE ANOTHER appointment asked AGAIN if my dog was in their system yes we show her in the systemWent to the appointment and told my wife just in case bring the paperwork, I dont trust themSure enough got there and again my dog was NOT in the system.Will never go back.
This is now the 4th time on separate occasions that I have received a phone call on the same day of my dogs grooming appointment saying they had to cancel the appointment. They are booked out sometimes 2weeks in advance, and I’m getting phone calls 30mins before my appointment time to cancel and reschedule. Will NOT be booking from Walden Ave store again!!!
On April.18th had appointments for my dog who get groomed there every 10 weeks. When dropping him off he was nervous which he usually is but always calms down after we leave. Actually we are always told how wonderful he was. We get there and was told by their tech that they would not take him because he was nervous. Also said his eyes did not look good. Well he has had cataracts for over 2 years and on medication will not go back again. How discriminated the tech name was.Katie
Come to store due to convient location. It an expensive pet store like any other. Purchase the same product every 4 to 6 weeks again because of convenience. They have the social distancing signs in place and hand sanitizer but dont really enforce the social distancing guidelines let alone face covering. Every time Im in this store one register open and more talk than moving people along.I really cringe everytime I need to go there.Hire more front end people and get rid of the forced donation on the screen they make you touch in the days of covid.....
My pet is 3 months old, second time getting groomed 1st time was early AM second time late afternoon he had anxiety from noise people and was unable to complete the service. I was not charged for the bath however was told to take him to a less noisy environment instead of stating bring him at an early time again so we can see if thats the issue and its more quite . I took him to pet supplies plus early in the AM he received the full service ..they were quick to lose a customer and pet supplies plus gained a customer
If I could rate lower than 1 star I would.I have been buying my pet supplies from Pet Smart for years and never had an issues. Recently I bought a banana ball python from this location, and with in 49 days my snake passed away. This my first snake. So I did my research and made sure his enclosure was near perfect and took extra precautions; feedings on fridays, I researched what size mouse to feed him, two hides, small water dish, humidity gage, thermometer for heat pad, temperature.After my snake passed, I was very upset and did extensive research as to what could have happened, what I came to realize was I was sold an extremely emancipated and malnourished pet, who likely didn’t have a shot living when he was sold to me. The day prior to his passing, I had him looked at due to his behavior and was told he was in the top 3 worst conditions he’s ever seen regarding unweight weight snakes. Despite my efforts and feedings, I lost a wonderful pet snake! I understand there is a 14 day return policy, however when I called to discuss my issue, the manager would not even speak to me and I was told there was nothing they could do.I am extremely frustrated, upset, and disappointed. Pet Smart lost a loyal custom and the Better Business Bureau of animal abuse will be hearing from me. All animals deserve good, healthy, satisfactory living conditions, which are not being provided by pet smart. It disheartening the animals are living in such conditions, then being sold to customers.
The customer service at the Cheektowaga location was as poor as you could get. I made an appointment for my two dogs 4 days ago through the app. We got there as the store was opening due to our appointment being at 915 am. The woman simply pointed us to the groomer door, as we tried to open the door to go in the woman rudely claimed we had to wait as the lights werent on and the groomers werent open yet. So we politely walked around the store for a few minutes and as we came back a guy and his dogs were in the sign in area for the groomers. So we assumed the groomer would tell him theres an appointment ahead of him and that he needed to wait due to the covid restrictions or at least come out and let us know whats going on... But as expected they did not. By 9:30 after waiting a half hour we were not updated, greeted, or talked to once by the employees, the lady at the register, or the groomer who was late to begin with. We received no explanation after waiting patiently, so while on our way out we watched the groomer prep the guys dogs for their treatment and left extremely disappointed and upset! This was supposed to be our pups first time getting professionally groomed and was a poor experience non the less.....
A lot of times its an issue finding staff to assist you, however that is not something to take out on the staff, they really do what they can to help customers, its just a shame to see them stretched so thin, whether thats a corporate thing or store location issue. Id probably give less stars due to this factor because its really quite maddening when you need help and also that checking out is equally abysmal BUT as I said the staff that does help IS great and really dedicated to helping people and making sure to prevent people from being ignorant with live animals.
The building itself was clean, parking ample, guest services mediocre at best. If you have a question be prepared to figure out the answer yourself (good old internet) or get turned over to three different associates to help you only to find out sorry we dont carry that at this store. Additionally, there prices are high compared to other stores, milks, ECT.
Its a big box pet store. I normally go to the one In Boulevard Consumer Square. The location in Cheektowaga i like better as once the Amherst one moved locations In the plaza they rearranged everything and they stopped carrying the cat food I buy for mine.I go to Pet Supplies Plus now. A bit smaller but I find what I need at a lower price and with much friendlier staff. They even send customer surveys to get feedback on your visit, good or bad plus offer carryout service.
I have been shopping at this PetSmart for quite some time, I adapted my cats here at a special SPCA event, and I have gotten fish here that are doing great, and when I was having some problems with fish they were great about returning or exchanging. I sometimes get my cat food here and litter, and it is the only place where I can find dental treats for my cats that they love. Staff here is always friendly.
The associates were more interested in socializing with people instead of paying attention to my dog as they clipped his nails, he was getting nervous about how they were lifting his front paws. Once they finally started talking/petting him he calmed down. This was not our first time there, so they know him. Very disappointed in how he was treated.
I was very glad to hear Samantha was still working in the grooming salon. She has been our usual groomer for many years and I am very happy with her grooming talents. Henry and our previous family pet, Sammie, both were well cared for during their visits with her. Samantha is a great example of kindness and compassion and an asset to your business profile. PetSmart is well represented by Samanthas job performance as a groomer.
I just switched to petsmart for grooming. My dog has cancer and needs surgery, he also has a heart murmur. Petsmart Is first place to tell us that our dog should not be left in a cage or put under any extra stress because of heart murmur. So petsmart cancels our first appointment and sets us up with an express appointment (old groomer never offered this). We were in and out in 1 hour!!! Not only does our dog look great, he is happy and being himself the same day he got his haircut (use to take him 3-5 days to start acting normal again!!!On top of the fantastic care they gave my dog, Katie (the girl we booked appointment with). Gave us a card, signed by all groomers, wishing us luck on our babies upcoming surgery, and a stuffed animal for him to snuggle with. We couldn’t be happier with Katie and the rest of the staff at Petsmart!!! We are going through tough time with our dog right now and it was awesome to have someone go out of their way and do extra for us now!!!We can’t thank you enough!!!!!Thank you KatieLove,Brooklyn ❤️❤️❤️
Ok store. Place is generally pretty clean and staff are pretty helpful. Most of the time they have what Im looking for. Like most big box retailers their prices are a little high and variety in pets low. I would rate higher,but literally everytime I go there I wait in line for way longer than necessary because they always seem to only have one person cashing people out no matter how busy they get. Nice people,but staff your store accordingly,dont punish the customers
So, Today I went to Petsmart around 6pm, like i do every 2 weeks or so. So I walked in and browsed the dog food section, and picked out a bag of dog food. Same dog food. Then, I went over to the bones and picked out my dogs favorite. Then, finally i worked my way over to the Fish tank section. There were 2 people ahead of me. Nosey me listened to the conversations amongst the sales lady and the customers. Both customers were scold by the lady and she told them, the fish they wanted were either not compatible with each other, or they needed to bring in water samples to make sure theyre ready for fish. Both customers didnt have much fight and walked away looking sad. Great I thought. I am next and Shes educating people.So me being next, I asked for the same thing I always get...Some snails, Minnows, and cheap crabs for bait. My puffer fish loves crabs and snails. She looked at me and asked what fish im feeding the Minnows and why i wanted snails. At this point, im kinda getting aggravated because i Know Exactly what i want and I am not interested in having this conversation or listen to her input. She insisted on knowing what the crabs were for. So, I just told her they were for my tank with Cichlids. She then tried to force me into not purchasing the crabs stating they will attack and eat my Cichlids. 😂😂 So i said do you really wanna know what theyre for? Theyre for my Puffer fish. He loves them. She looked at me with this Snickering grin and said unfortunately, i cant sell you any fish today sense youre using them for feeders.
To Luster, you MISSED 3 appointments, so you basically removed money from the pockets of those employees, why be surprised they dont want you as a customer??? They arent paid by the hour, you stole their time, does that make you feel important? ME big important man, you must lose your pay if I dont want to keep appointment!!!. To the person who didnt answer the phone when you had the chance to confirm, did you think they could magically confirm your appointment? You basically admitted you ignored the call, so they probably did their best to keep an opening available for you. Did you think to thank them for that? Or did you feel entitled to have the appointment and ignore the follow up call?Im truly sick of people blaming others for things that could easily be fixed, my doctor doesnt play phone tag, why should others? If I dont confirm it, I can take a chance to have it as so many others need care too, just using that as an example, but it makes sense. Blame yourselves for your disappointments if you didnt follow the simplest of courtesies.Ive had nothing but positive experiences with that company, how about getting over yourselves? Be blessed in everything you endeavor for. I will continue to shop at the Cheektowaga Petsmart, they always have helpful staff and if they dont have what Im looking for, at most, it takes just days to get those items in. Way better than Amazon or other on-line companies. I get what I pay for, no surprises. I dont even mind the sales tax as I rarely have to wait for anything.
My dogs nail was cut too short and the groomer didnt disclose this information. She had obviously put something on his toe nail because it didnt start bleeding until we got home. I called the store and we told by the manager that I should put flour on the toenail. My dog was groomer perfectly so I was very disappointed that I wasnt informed that he had an accident.
This place has always done a nice job trimming my dogs nails, sometimes she can be a real pain, and does get nervous. Usually the staff here is patient and does a great job working through this, however when I went there today this just was not the case. First of all my dog weighs 76lbs. Normally this would require some help to get her on the table 3 feet off the ground, well not tonight as the other woman working did not want to help, so my groomer managed to get two paws on the table before my dog slipped off and fell on the ground. They then discussed trimming her nails on the ground. I was then asked if my dog ever had a seizure which I said no. I was then told by the woman who did not want to help that from this point forward I would need to take my dog to the vet to trim her nails and they would not be doing it. Which I honestly believe was her plan from the moment I walked in. She then went and got mats to assist my dog in walking out. Which was way more effort than she used in helping the other groomer out. I honestly believe that with the right people helping my original groomer she would have easily been able to accomplish trimming my dogs nails. However this night she was working with someone who was not willing to help and therefore they job did not get done and I was told I cannot go back.
They have everything you need for what ever pet you have but everything online is twice the price in store. Watch out for an employee named Kim. Every single time me or my husband go in there shes there. Extremely rude and disrespectful. She will take her time doing absolutely everything and when you get frustrated she goes slower. Also lies about what the have in the store and tries to make you buy something else. I wanted a 25$ fish tank and it was clearly in the box she Sayed it was not and tried to sell use a 75$ tank instead. 3 stars for rude employee and not have a store availability tab on there website
Nice place for dogs cats bird all animals great supply of stuff from dog food to cat food to bird seeds to treats for the dog the cat the bird also leashes collars all kind of supplies they also groom and wash dogs of all size love this place its a animal owners best friend would recommend to new or novice or even experienced pet owners
Called around looking for a young male guinea pig or skinny pig. Finally found a store that carried skinny pigs which was what I really wanted because I have one at home. Wanted to hold and look at the skinny pig I was thinking about purchasing. The employee(an older lady) acted like it was a pain for her to get them out to let me hold them. They were also priced at 65.00 so I wanted to make sure the guinea pig was healthy and friendly. When she took out the skinny pigs I noticed that they had a prolapsed penis. They were not inside their body like normal. I asked her about it and her response was she dealt with horses so shes seen big penisis. She had no clue. I figured I would purchase him and so some research and if it was a problem return him. Well I did research and this is a serious problem so I returned him the next day. Before I brought him back I spoke to a manager there named Ronnie and she told me they noticed it on both boys!!! And they couldnt do anything about it! I guess I just couldnt believe that they knowingly sold me a 65.00 skinny pig with a serious problem! But I guess they didnt think a thing about it because the young girl working there later told me that one of the employees there was going to adopt him out for free if a customer returned him! Are you serious! I guess I really couldnt believe what terrible customer service the whole way around! Wow! Ended up getting a furred male there and it seems like he might have a cold! I hope I dont have to return this one too and an employee adopts him out for free. I should have thought twice about this. HOpefully things work out so this poor animal isnt tossed around from owner to owner. I guess if I wanted a free animal, I should work at petsmart!!!
Was looking at cat gym and was ignored for about five minutes until a lady with red hair asked me ma’am do you need any assistance? I told her just looking for now but I’m wondering how I would get one of these cat gym in my car? she gave me very brief information didn’t to care at all about my question then I actually became interested in one of the cat gyms and tried to get it into the cart I told her I don’t know how I’m going to get the cart... and she completely ignored me... I stood there for about 2 mins... & her and a man working there were setting something up and acting like I did not exist. A few employees walked by and saw me struggling and did not say a word. I’m offended and disappointed.
They have a wide selection of pet products. The prices are usually a little bit higher than other places. They do have brands that other stores do not have which is why we go there for our dog food. I stopped buying fish here because my tank always ends up with ick after bringing new fish home.
I have your app on my iPad since it wont fit on my phone but when I get coupons or discounts, etc., & then go spend money IN the store I cant redeem anything (except paw points). I spent $177 in store yesterday & couldnt use any of my discounts without showing them from the app & I obviously didnt have my iPad with me. Why arent those things loaded on to my rewards card account when I use it AT the store?? I couldve saved 20% yesterday, thats upwards of $30! Also, please, PLEASE hire more cashiers. It never matters which location I go to or what time Im shopping, theres always only 1 cashier & none of these people have a clue about urgency. I might just start using Chewy to avoid all this extra hassle.
The staff at this store (that I have interacted with) are extremely rude even had one person tell me how much she hates Guinea pigs as she was getting my new babies out of their enclosure they refused to sell me bedding that was on the shelf with an advertised price I will never go back to this store again I will go to petco or the petsmart I. East Aurora
Usually my local favorite however i was in there to replace a fish that passed and was told i was wrong on what to put in my tank for 20+ years i have had a great community tank w expertice on what breeds go together ... Please keep your 3 day course to your self i dont need an education on community fish
Called Petsmart on Sat 8/9/14 for a grooming appt none was available till Monday @ 7am so I took that appt. Sunday I received a call to confirm on my answering machine when I heard Molly say this is petsmart calling to confirm i hung up because i knew i had a appt on the following day at 7am. I arrived at 7am and was told that there was no appt for 7am only 9am I explained i made appt for 7am she said she called to confirm with me sunday because she was AFRAID I THOUGHT it was for 7am????? Why would i think it was for 7am if I wasnt told that???????? I would of never made a 9am because I am at work by that time. Well I was told that there was no 7am appts and they couldnt groom my dog. Come to find out after talking to a coworker this same thing happened to her at the same petsmart!!! Needless to say I was late for work because now I have to travel all the way back home to drop my dog off. I purposely made an appt at this location because it was close to my work so I could just take my dog with me and drop him off and have a relative pick him up for me. NO MORE PETSMART FOR ME ILL CONTINUE TO GO TO PET SUPPLIES PLUS AS I HAVE BEEN THIS WAS JUST AN EMERGENCY!!
Sunday I was in Petsmart I want to use the bathroom and I could hear someone screaming at someone,as I came out there was a male employee screaming at a female employee I am apalled that this is going on in the store I’ve been a customer for years and I don’t think I’ll be coming back I believe his name was Jim I can’t believe this kind of treatment is taking place ...this is not how employees should be treated.

2022-06-29Both of my dogs had a great training experience! Ryan was very knowledgeable. The training was positive and we had fun during the class. He took the time to listen to our training needs to obtain our goals. The training class also doubles as a way to socialize your dog(s). I would 100% recommend taking one of Ryan’s classes!

2022-06-29Ryan is an amazing trainer. My 3 year old dog Cleo barely knew how to sit before we took his beginners class. Now she knows how to do so many different commands it’s amazing! 10/10 would recommend Ryan. Very nice and very helpful.

2022-06-10Ryan is the most wonderful trainer. He takes his time with each dog even if he has to go over something more than once. He talks to the dogs in a very soft yet firm voice even when my puppy Growled at him on her last class he got right down on the floor with her so she knew he was ok and remembered him because she hadn’t been there in a few weeks. He was just so good with her. She’ll be taking the 3rd course as soon as her knees are better I wouldn’t take her anywhere else. Thank you Ryan for all you do and your compassion for the animals you work with.

2021-11-05Stopped on by to purchase some food for my Guinea Pig. They have all you need for all types of pets. Its like a one stop shop! I usually purchase my pet food online and have it delivered. They offer sameday delivery with Doordash for free.

2022-05-16It was the best experience that could be. Store has a wide open welcoming entry, and spacious aisles. Though I did not have to ask for help on this trip, employees were visible through out the store. The variety is excellent, and serendipitously, the exact specialty food I wanted to find was literally right at eye-level facing me at the end of the cat food shelves. Thank you.

2022-05-14Associates are always super friendly, super helpful to myself and my puppy. They have an amazing trainer Ryan who even prior to me signing up for puppy class with my new puppy gave me a couple tips and was noticeably passionate about training which was one of the reasons i picked her training to be with him. During our 2 training classes weve completed so far he has been above and beyond helpful and caring. I know for sure our dog would not be where she is now without the classes and all weve learned from him along the way. Simply the best!

2022-06-16A bit more pricey than say a pet supplies plus but a greater selection. The rewards are nice. 12 bucks off my bill from previous visits. Pet supplies plus you get a occasional useful coupon from a mailer. However, I have not received one in quite some time. PetSmart is always my first choice. This review is subject to change.

2022-04-10Stopped in for shrimp and a snail for my tank. The two associates that helped me were very kind and helpful. Had to wait a bit, but I went during peak hours and they still handled it very well.
