Stay away from the grooming. Unprofessional and unorganized. Waited till an hour and half to cancel my appt. first it was they were short staffed. Then the groomer can’t do big dogs because of her back. Full or stories and the lady on the phone was stuttering and giggling the whole time. Last time I bring my dog there

I like going here for fish and supplies. I recently got 5 tetras and 2 died. When I went in to get replacement because of warranty, they had tetras out of stock. Instead they let me exchange the 2 for another kind of fish so I got 2 otocinclus. Nice.Pros: Good service, the guy who allowed the exchange was nice, friendly, outgoing.Good selection of supplies.LocationCons: usually at the fish section there is no one there so I have to get someone to help

In spite of not finding an item I wanted, this is a nice store (I did get 2 of 3 items). Clean, large, well lit and loads of items to choose from. The cashiers and floor staff are really friendly and accommodating. Plenty of parking available.

Really don’t have enough harnesses and when they do, they are made out of cheap products. Toys are decent and they always have my dogs food in stock. Their cleaning supplies never work and whenever I use it to clean up a pee stain it never works. If your looking for everything , go to pet co.

Staff is helpful and have a lot of information to share. What I liked was when one staff member knew another was more knowledgeable about a specific breed, he walked me over to the other team member, introduced me and asked them to address my specific need. Great team work, friendly accomodating staff, fully stocked store, organized and clean- all while practicing safety.

Brought my dog here for the first time. As I entered the grooming salon to retrieve my dog, the groomer approached me and said wow, hes a barker!. In shocked, I said thats weird because he doesnt really barker. She said he barked the whole time. I said he only barks if he feels you are suspect. She respond, I didnt groom him, he did. I explained that he loves going to the groomer and is well known for being such a pleasant dog, so maybe he didnt enjoy the space here. As the other young lady went to retrieve my dog, I noticed that my dog was still wet. Honestly, I believe the groomer should be more concerned that her job was done effectively before commenting on the type of dog I dont have. Hopefully, my dog isnt traumatized from the experience here!

Wow! Liked the staff there. Had bought a crate which was a nightmare- was able to return it without issue and the manager helped to find the right crate. Will def go back.

I always find whatever Im looking for my dog in here. The groomers are skilled and can easily befriend any dog they see. The establishment is kept clean, and there are paper towels, plastic bags, and spray bottles to clean up after any mess. And the staff is always happy to share any advice or tips they have regarding your pet and how to be a better owner.

I had my dog groomed for the first time at Petsmart and was extremely satisfied. The groomer was friendly and great with my dog. She was very professional. My dog looked great after grooming, and she felt so soft. She was ready in 2 hours. I will take her there when she needs to be groomed again.
- Some staff are nice some aren’t . Called to inform them one of the budgies I purchased from them 2 days prior had died and the employee Andrew said “ okay nice talk” and hung up in the middle of my sentence. Not that much of a variety of birds, just depressed looking budgies and one lonely finch . Employees usually seem sluggish, except for one nice cashier and a man named Joe I think , I don’t know the cashiers name just remember their face and blonde hair .

Took my dog for grooming (as I normally have done since my dog was a puppy, she’s now 4 years old), for the first time they had to stop the grooming. Allegedly, she was biting and kicking and made the groomer drop her clippers. Mind you my dog is 7 pounds. Not only does she look ridiculous because they didn’t shave her left leg, nor her head and shaved half the top of neck. Furthermore, I had to pay full price. After 4 years I’m no longer taking my dogs to PetSmart.
This was my puppy’s 3rd visit and she looks great. They treat her well and I can tell she loves her groomer. Thank you Alysha!
Not so satisfying as my visits to other PetSmart locations. I just hope they can improve it. They dont have a variety of fish most of their aquariums are empty. I was looking for betta food but they only have a single brand which my female bettas are not so fond of it. I was looking for hamster 🐹 toys but they didnt have, all I found were toys for chinchillas and rabbits and those are too big for my robo hamster. I was also looking for something to enrich my hamsters diet but I realized that I have more variety at home than the sad pellets and sunflowers 🌻 seeds they have. I have visited other Petsmart stores but this time I got disappointed 😞. I just hope theyre just waiting to restock the place so people who live nearby wont have to struggle for their pets needs.
Nice store went there to get my dogs nails taken care of little bit of a wait very busy but they did a great job so it was worth the wait and the price was reasonable!?! Lots of parking

My dog peed on floor which this staff person noticed she promptly left . i had to walk after her to ask her for another direction to locate paper towels..I did not expectHer to clean up after my dog..She can walk very fast..
Just left the location with prescription food that I almost wasn’t able to grab because the store was closing soon and I forgot my card. The lady behind the register was SO kind and friendly! If I lived closer I’d give this Pet smart by business ALL the time. A smile and a kind gesture goes such a long way. Thank you for providing good customer service.
One star is for the grooming salon, not the store itself.I received a call around one hour and 15 minutes before the grooming appointment saying my appointment has been cancelled since the groomer bailed out. I requested the gentleman to squeeze me into some other slot during the day as it was really important for me to get my dog groomed since we were flying to California the following day. He said there wasn’t anything available during the day. I requested him to talk to his manager and help me out since I got a car rental and was going to come all the way from Brooklyn, but he said his manager wasn’t in. I requested him to have her manager call me once she came, but I never received any call. Extremely unprofessional from Petsmart.

They have a good supply of products to meet your pet needs, but wheres the service? I went there and there was no one to help me. After waiting a long while for help, someone finally came. I politely told the store assistant this, and the person just seemed annoyed and didnt even offer an apology. Talk about poor customer service, sheesh.. disappointed to say the least.
Prices are much better than Petco. Staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. They were very helpful picking out fish for my new aquarium. I come here often to get food for my leopard gecko.
I absolutely can not put into words how amazing Alysha was with my dog. My dog is so terrified & has anxiety when it comes to almost anything, I’ve taken her to 5 different groomers and they’ve all called me to go pick her up within the first 20 min. because they weren’t able to handle her. I couldn’t believe it was my dog walking out of that Groomers. Alysha was so patient and loving, idk how she did it but she did. If it’s your first time I 10000% recommend her!
For grooming serviceNot going mention the name of groomer but I wouldnt take my dog grooming here again.I arrived at 7am and the groomer showed up 20 mins late. I take my dog here and he came back so nervous and scared. I ask for a medium cut and his fur was almost close to his skin and uneven. His ears were not looking good. I paid $65 and then get a called later to pay an extra $15 for some knots behind his legs. More importantly, I was really upset because my dog just doesnt seem like himself, he is really sad like he went through something traumatic there..
My parents and I have been coming to Arturo from the grooming department for years and I have to say, he is the ultimate BEST! Very professional, patient, trustworthy and friendly to both humans and pets. I HIGHLY recommend him.
I was looking to change a hospital for my dog, Yaya, and this is my first time visiting Pet hospital at Pet Smart. Love the store and like that there are variety services. Also, staff are super friendly and professional.
Great place to pick up a verity of pet related products or even small pets. However, their prices are higher then a lot of places. I recommend looking around and doing some price shopping first.
What a great place to shop for your pets. As a recent rescue dog owner, I highly recommend PetSmart. They have everything you can imagine and more for your furry four-legged friends. They also have great selection of fish for pets as well as varied Birds reptiles and more. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The prices are outstanding and the selection of merchandise is incredible. I highly recommend PetSmart as your pet store of choice.
The woman that helped up (I really wished I remembered her name) It did start with an A. She wears glasses also and has 5 birds. Anyway, she was very helpful and informative on what our bird needed. And the woman at the register was so kind to my son. Ill be going there again for sure.

It’s a Good pet store. They have mostly everything you need for a pet. They also groom and train dogs so right now, I’m going to a grooming appointment for my puppy. The prices are fair.
Everyone is helpful at this location. Most of the time I can find things in stock. A few times the items I needed, were not in stock.The store associates do try to accommodate, but if they dk6nt have it in stock their isnt much they can do.I like this location the best. The pet food is stocked very well. I was looking for items for kittens, they were out of stock in a few things. No big deal. Unfortunately, I had to buy somewhere else. I do stick with this location for most of my pet needs.
Most often I am greeted by someone and that is always pleasant to me. I have a Javanese dog and a kitty so trust I am there often. Most even have a hospital inside.
Timothy and Tiffany On February 4th found my medicine for my dog and paper work the medical staff in the back out it out front of the medical desk so after they left I can still get the medicine and care for my dog. I love this place they helped me with my dog in a time of great need. The medical staff is great and so is tina tim and tiff they worked the night shift at this pet smart. Great place to go to honest people. Staff makes the store great
Had to reschedule my grooming appointment because I was 8 mins late. In reality they were over booked and used that excuse as a crutch. I had been late before with no issues.
This location is very convenient , well stocked in cat food. It also has a Banfield Hospital and dog grooming. It has a lot going on to be a smaller store.
The store was fine, customers socially distancing, cashier awesome but one associate was not wearing her mask. Other than out of clippers I got what I needed.
I’ve been bringing my yorkie Rudy to get his grooming done for years now and I have no complaints. He loves Shaneka, she is the absolute best with him. He always looks sooo good after his haircuts with her!!!

This was a horrible mistake to bring my puppy here. I had scheduled an appointment for my dog on Apr 6 at 8am they call me about 7ish that they have to reschedule me because the groomer called out. They booke me for the following day at 1. I get there and the person speaking to me was very unfriendly. I already had a negative vibe from this but I needed my dogs hair trimmed because his hair was in his face. The dark skin lady from the moment we got there to the moment I had to pick up my dog was very unpleasant. She told me that it would take about 3 hrs or more to groom my dog. I had made a trip from the city and back and my puppy still wasnt ready. Anyhow I go home to wait and she calls me about 430ish to tell me that my dog is ready. I told her I would be there in 30mins and she has the audacity to tell me we close at 5...o well now you wait until I get there. So despite the waiting time the inconvenience and all that to make matters worse they cut the hair on my puppy all uneven!! I asked for a trim and they chopped his hair off and i dont even believe he was bathed. An absolute horror and the price was ridiculous. I will not come back ever to this place they are unfriendly and unprofessional. If your job sucks then move on to something else.

The grooming services over the years have declined. My last trip here, I brought my pet for their 2PM appointment. They noted that they close at 5PM. By 5PM i did not receive any phone call notifying me that she was ready for pickup. When I was able to speak to someone on the phone, they were hesitant to say she was ready to go. A little recap, I dropped my cat off at 2PM and when I arrived to pick her up after 5PM, she was now being cleaned with a towel. The back of her body was still wet, which I dont understand considering I dropped her off 3 HOURS BEFORE. Her nails were clipped, but that was it, they did not conditioner her like I requested and did nothing else that was included in the Furminator package. Horrible service.
So I usually go here to get my dog a pawdicure plus at the grooming station. The first times that I’ve gone it was alright and the staff was nice and did treat my dog nicely. However, the last couple of times that I’ve gone they have not fully done the pawdicure plus. The pawdicure plus consists of many things and one being to take out some of the ear hair - which I barely saw them do, or brush the teeth.Last time I went I was really amazed at the service. They were short on staff so I tried to understand but the staff that was there was showing some attitude and not treating the dogs very nicely. They would yell at the dog they were grooming and calling them lazy. And when they took my dog I asked for the pawdicure plus and only got 2 things done and she rushed it! When I asked about the trimming of the paw hair she said that I had to wait for a groomer to do it.When I got home I realized she had broken one of my dogs nails!! I found the actual nail that fell off and if it isn’t obvious- I’m not going back. I pay $26 dollars for full service not less than half of the service. They need to learn how to be a bit more patient and nice towards dogs especially if they work with them every single day.I wouldn’t recommend this petsmart grooming station. Not all the staff is unfriendly but somehow I always get the same people every time I go. I would look for another store or buy the nail grinder machine and do it yourself. However, the store itself is really great and some of the people working on the floor are very helpful but stay away from the grooming station!

This is a very small location and pretty conveniently located with decent parking. Its great for picking up food and other snacks/toys for my dog but not so much for my other exotic pets such as my parrot and snake.
Never disappointed. I have cats and tropical fish. Cat accessories and treats are well stocked. Always a good selection of healthy looking fish as well as plants and other accessories. Would have given 4 stars if I didnt see deceased fish in some of the tanks.Look, everything dies whether naturally or due to some other reason BUT theres no reason to keep them around. Only takes a second to remove them and keep the health grade high plus it gives the appearance of a healthy environment which is crucial.If I walk up to a tank and see dead fish, one or more, Im going to think water quality, ph, disease and probably walk away because Im not going to buy what may die in a day or two.

Pets are kept for 3+ hours for basic services (basic bath and nail trim). Pet is returned with eye guck. Pet was extremely tired, I’m not sure if it was do to excess stress from being locked up for so long or if she was given a sedative. Not returning to PetSmart for services.

Great store! But they need to clean the front. It smells very high of dog urine. However the store is kept very neat inside. Everything is in its place.
I bought goldfish from this store and they now have ich, given the fish in the surrounding tanks were not in the best condition, my tank has been cycled and was ready for fish, and two days after introducing my fish, they are covered in ich. I would not recommend buying fish from here considering my fish are now ill. Check out other local aquariums instead of resorting to huge chain stores.
I have been bringing my pet here for years and I had a scarring experience the last time I was there roughly two months ago. Gizmo has anxiety and we always explain to the groomer to be careful with his face because he can nip if he feels uncomfortable or threatened. The groomer, Ashley, was dismissive and said she would be fine. Again, I have come here for years now and I have never had a problem. When I picked him up, the groomer proceeded to yell at me and bash Gizmo because he was aggressive towards her. When I asked her to explain to me what happened, she turned her back and began talking about me and my pet to her coworkers instead of addressing me. I had the manager intervene and that was the end of that. When I got home, I noticed that Gizmo had a deep cut on his paw, which is probably why he was aggressive towards the groomer. I called today to book an appointment with the groomers he has NEVER had problems with and I was told that I could no longer go there because of this one incident. It is a shame that records and notes were not reviewed and that Ashley still works there when she is unprofessional, combative and rude.
Lovely pet store, found all the fish supplies I needed to clean my tanks and also they have different types of fish food... the staff was friendly and helpful. Will go back!
Love the grooming services at PetSmart
After being charged $108.00 for grooming my puppy has been afraid of touch like he was abused. Has razor burns all over.I wll be hiring a lawer after his vet visit. Warning dont take your dog here.the staff were very nasty because his hair was knotted on his back leg.Archie will never be groomed with these people ever. Leave your dog at your own risk
I went in for a puppy trim and was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. Desia, our groomer was patient and playful with our little rambunctious Cookie. And she was cute as a button when it was all done!!! I was originally going to use a mobile groomer that was referred to me but after Desias service and personality, I think Ill be returning to PetSmart. 👍👍👍

Some items more expensive than other pet stores and supermarkets. Because i feed indoor / plus 2 outdoor colonies, I have to watch prices . I usually shop st diff pet stores . I find Petsmart prices higher in healthy foods .

2022-03-01Weve been to PetSmart a couple of times now and let me just say that the customer service and kindness of the associates and management was exemplary. We recently bought a parakeet which we named Ocean, and weve come to trust PetSmart for their wide stock of bird supplies and seemingly disease-free birds. The bird is very friendly and we are loving having him in our home. Weve also been there a few times regarding returns, specifically when we returned a smaller cage after buying a larger one for our parakeet. The return experience was smooth and fast and the cashiers were prompt. Below is a picture of the bird we got!

2022-06-14I have to say all of my Petsmart experiences have been top notch. I usually go to the New Hyde park , or Valley Stream or Chelsea locations. Staff always pleasant and efficient. Recently took my 6.5 month old puppy for a cut and shampoo. Our groomer Lily did such a great job. And our loved loved her instantly. They always have what I need too. That’s pretty impressive and they are the only store that sells the pee pads with the adhesive tape!

2022-05-05I took my goldendoodle there to be groomed and they did an outstanding job. Their customer service is on point and I was able to purchase clothing on the clearance rack for my dog. The store is clean and the staff are extremely friendly.

2022-04-27Our favorite place to shop for our little guy 🐕 the staff is friendly and very helpful, plus there is quiet a variety and they do price match with specials that their online site has at petsmart.com. I like the toys selection also. Our experience has been wonderful each time.

2022-07-02Its a pet smart! What else is there to say? Just enough staff to not make it look like no one is working and but get your needs taken care of. They offer just about anything Ive ever needed for my pets although Ive never used their grooming service.

2022-04-10The place is so friendly, but the girl at the banfeild desk is a bit much. She talks fast like almost to confuse you and talks o er you. Just a little to hyper for me. I know she means no harm but it almost kinda rude. Less is more. Very Tall women

2022-06-25Went in to get some gold, platys, algea eaters for addition to my lonely 5 yr old gold fish, lady helped a lot and advised not to keep them in same tank as cold water good fish. She was very friendly and advised/ helped pick minnows and more goldies.

The professionalism and kindness from the entire staff especially, Elizabeth at the New Hyde Park, Pet Smart who puts my dog at ease every time before grooming. Elizabeth allows her clients to feel comfortable before their appointment and understands their needs she cares from the very beginning to the very end of my pets grooming appointment. 2022-02-07SUPER disorganized and unpleasant. Avoid this petsmart groomer if you can. We’ve gone here for my dogs grooming appointment multiple times and they always complain that my dog doesn’t cooperate so they ”can’t” groom her correctly and you are still forced to pay full price. Then they have cancelled my appointment for future appointments 3 times after, one of them being the day I’m there with my dog ready to go and they say “since you checked in after 15 minutes we can’t take you”, yet I was standing there waiting for them to stop talking to customer ahead of them for 10 mins. Never going back to them.
