The staff are always friendly and helpful. They leave fish listed that they dont always have and theres always a risk of snail infestation, especially if you get live plants. There are never enough cashiers for the line length. The location is great for me, and the dog and cat supplies are excellent. They also usually have plenty of pocket pets and cats for adoption, and they offer doggie daycare, grooming, obedience classes, and veterinary services.
Went for pics with the bunny they had a vary good system in place someone outside haveing people line up and giveing coupon for the store cleaning stations at every other aisle in case your furry friend decides to go, becouse there was the extra traffic of people coming in for pics they had extra staff for check out. It was grate shopping even when theres no special event the cleaning stations are still there, so staff is frendly and the store is super organization, each service has little windows that you can see if it is right for your pet (except veterinarian service) that is a good thing. But like the groomers and training you can watch see how you like it ! To sum up everything I really enjoy Everytime I go there (event or not ) I would recommend to everyone 20 out of 10
Bought 2 hermit crabs, didnt think much of them being in their shells at the store. Got them home, left them in their new environment for a few hours and noticed no movement. Well, theyre dead and Im almost positive they were sold to me dead. Will be back tomorrow for a refund.
I order monthly through Petsmart online door dash. My online order this time was delivered missing myDogs food. The manager on duty (however I forgot his name) personally drove it to my house instead of having me go back and forth with door dash customer service. Kudos to the manager that was in duty for giving this option. Very much appreciated and very professional.
I just had occasion to call the Orchard Park store and an associate named Sarah answered the phone. She was extremely pleasant and very helpful. When she couldn’t find exactly what I wanted, she suggested I check back as the spring items were just coming in. Her very pleasant tone and her willingness to help were very refreshing.
Terrible!! Took my dog there today, he has been there previously mind you. Anyone who meets him, comments on how sweet he is -- he is only 1 1/2 yrs old. I dropped him off at 4:00 and the groomer called me at 5:15 stating she would not be able to finish his groom, meaning the haircut portion. She stated he bit her hand when she was trying to blow dry him. When I got there to pick him up --- his groomer had another dog on the table whom she was cutting, hmmm interesting!!! First off my dog would never bite anyone! When she saw me, she said Ill get him. I then proceeded to say to her --- Im not sure what when on here, however my dog is one of the sweetest dogs and has had NO problems being groomed in the past. Basically she stated Im not sure, he was jumping around when I was trying to dry him, then he bit my hand. I looked at both her hands, well she had NO marks or band-aids or anything on her hands!! As I said -- she was cutting another dog when I got there!!! Maybe she double booked herself is what Im thinking, b/c obviously the dog she was cutting on the table, had already had its bath, was dry, etc.I will NEVER again take my dog there!!! As I said this dog is the sweetest dog and I do not believe for one second this story!!
Always a good experience with helpful staff. They have great customer service.Update: On the afternoon of 11/25/2019 I shopped with an injured back. I asked for some assistance getting my cat food into the car. The girl that helped me was so nice. She loaded everything into my car and she refused the tip I offered her. It brought me to tears knowing that there are still kind people in the world. Her attitude and customer service was absolutely wonderful. My cashier was also very friendly and helpful.
Doesn’t even deserve one star! Worst veterinarian office experience in all my life. My dogs are terrified to visit. Scheduled a routine teeth cleaning and called twice before the appointment to verify the fractured tooth in my dogs mouth needed to be removed. Most most important part of this visit was to have that tooth removed. When I called to see how he was doing I was not surprised to hear the vet actually had to remove 2 teeth. (Not surprised because my dog has bad teeth) The vet tech I spoke with verified that 2 TEETH were pulled. Then when my 8 year old dog awoke from ANESTHESIA and it was time to go home I notice...no teeth were actually removed. They said I didn’t answer my phone to give permission to pull the teeth. I was under the impression that I gave my permission when I talked to the vet on staff in depth twice before the appointment. We talked about how his tooth was fractured 2 years ago and has since fallen apart in his mouth. I LET IT BE WELL KNOWN THE TOOTH WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE VISIT. How many times will my dog need to be put under for their mistakes? It’s not safe. I call this negligence, poor communication, unprofessionalism. Highly disappointed and disturbed. Not only was I misinformed about the procedure but my dog came out with blood on his face. Like he hit his head on something and his eye was swollen. What is going on over there? Are these people trained professionals? One last thing, there are two doors in every office. One for patients one for doctors. I’ve been to many banfields across the country and this had never happened anywhere except Banfield in Orchard Park NY. Another patient walked into our room like he didn’t know where to go. My dogs lost it. A large confused dude walks into the room and he is clearly afraid. He could have been bit or something if I didn’t have the leashes held tight. Seriously? Putting patients, and customers at risk.
Always clean store and staff is very helpful. I cant lift heavy items and a young man named Derek came over and offered his services before I even asked and then when I checked out he came out and pushed cart and loaded items into my car. He was very pleasant the whole time!
Recently adopted a kitten through Second Chance Sheltering Network, Inc. PetSmart provides space for them to showcase their adoptees.Ron, the volunteer, was fantastic. With his professionalism and knowledge, the process was effortless. Additionally, the store associates were welcoming and attentive.Thanks!
Upon my visit to Petsmart a few weeks ago I was very disappointed with the customer service I received, I was searching for new food for my corgi when I encountered Derek. I asked Derek if he could help me and had any information on the best brand for my dog seeing how the kind she has currently is not working out for her. He was beyond rude while talking to me, he was very unprofessional, and gave the impression that he hated his job and would rather be anywhere else at that moment without any help he walked away and another employee helped me. The new employee to help me was very professional and the only reason that I stayed at Petsmart and didn’t go elsewhere. Petsmart should put a little more thought into who they are hiring these days.
Poor communication, poor workmanship, was charged full price as was told not to bring pet back because he was too old. groom not finished and was still wet. No apology jet here is your full price bill. Will not be back ever, even though we have been there with him for ten years. SAD
My saleswoman was a very professional adviser on my choice of fish. She was not afraid to advise me otherwise of my previous decision and I liked that in her. I only wished that I would of gotten her name but I was in a rush that day. I am sure I will run into her again when I come there next time. Please let her know. She sold me 3 cichlids. I was with my grandson. Tell her for me thank you very much for her advice. I am very pleased
They sold me two fish with the ick that after being in out tank for 48 hours we noticed. Our fish tank has been set up for about six years and we have never had a problem. They then said we could return them. But they would not treat the tank. So we had to go buy treatment for our whole tank. Very dissatisfied, will never buy fish from here again.
I took my dog to get a bath and get his nail filed and when I went to pick him up he seemed scared and traumatized. I don’t know what happen but from the beginning when I walked in I had a bad feeling about it with all the dogs in the crates and how loud it was. For his bath he smelled like wet dog if I could’ve known I would’ve bath him myself and I had to bath him anyway because he kept scratching after I took him there. Overall it was a very bad experience.
Horrible all the employees are very rude and have no knowledge on animals. Why work at a pet store if you don’t know anything about animals. I went in to hold the chinchilla to see what his personality was like and he was the sweetest thing. All of the employees said he was vicious and aggressive. A complete lie they just said that because they didn’t want to take him out. I only go to hold him for like 2 minutes and one employee walked by and said to put them back they are not allowed out during store hours. She should mind her own business. On the cages it says Do you want to hold me? Ask for an employee to help you. That’s what I did and they were not friendly. They best employees their are Brianna and Tyler the rest are snotty and stuck up. Also the chinchilla and guinea pigs should never have plastic in the cage. They chew it and if they swallow a piece it will harm them or even kill them.
Decent place, except the woman who works with the fish who has been doing this for fifteen years sold us fish infected with ich and ended up killing off my entire fish tank. Never had any problems with any sort of fungus or parasites in my fish tank until I bought fish from here. Dont claim to know your product and then sell unknowing people infected fish!
Wish they had more pet food supplies for fish, freshwater fish to be specific. Had limited options whos ingredients were more than questionable. I go to big chain stores to have options immediately. If I knew I was going to waste the gas I would have gone to Amazon and got it to my house just as fast. Please update your product selection and prices to match reality
For Christmas 2015, our family decided to set up a fish tank at home. We visited this store to look around for ideas for decorations and other accessories for the tank.My boys loved pet stores, and this one did not disappoint, there are several types of live animals there to look at and the equipment needed in order to keep them as pets.It was clean and neat. The employees were friendly and helpful.
I just spoke to a woman named Christina on the phone. I spoke to her regarding doggie day camp for my beagle mix. She was very informative and helpful. Im very excited to send him there now in a couple weeks while Im working! Shout out to Christina for being personable.
Just drove an hour and twenty minutes for my dog’s 2:00 grooming appointment. Got a call at 2:27 to say she was pacing and had diarrhea and they can’t cut her hair she’s too stressed. Maybe 27 minutes in a cage caused the stress. She’s not used to wing caged. They wouldn’t listen, she said they were too busy today. Too bad, I usually tip well.
I go in here to pick up wax worms for fishing. Sometimes they are out of stock. And you also have to watch is some of the containers of wax worms have quite a few did ones in them so sometimes it takes a while to find a container that has good live ones. Ive always found the staff to be helpful, knowledgeable and willing to answer all your questions.
Really nice folks and great selection in the store itself. My only complaint is that the pet hospital staff in the back exude an attitude of being above the rest of the petsmart staff and will quickly let you know that they are a separate entity. Dont try asking them any questions!
I love Beth for dog grooming. My last German shepherd I rescued at 20 months old was dog aggressive and didnt like many people. Beth was able to manage her and did a great job keeping her calm. She groomed her for 8 years without any incidents. Now she grooms my 13 month old german shepherd since she was 4 months old and does a fantastic job. She truly loves dogs and knows how to handle them.
Honestly, one star is generous. Used to take my dog here to get groomed, but after one too many times of them clipping her nails to the point of bleeding they told me they were not able to handle her and to take her to the vet because there they could give her a sedative. We had also used their boarding services because our vets boarding was full. After she spent 2 short weekends there she messed in her kennel. She is almost 2 years old now, and has been house and kennel trained for almost a year (we got her a few months before she turned 1). Not only was she off her normal schedule, but now she was no longer kennel trained. The only reason I can think that this would happen is because they dont take the dogs outside, but just make them go in their kennel. Our dog is very well trained, and listens incredibly well so someone had to have done something to break her training. This is no way to treat dogs, even if they are just animals, they should be treated humainely, and this simply is not.
This morning 8 :30 am and I got treated like a teenager late for the exam! Usually i can blow off a bad attitude but when 2 employees gang up on you because u are late its hard not to ask to speak to the store manager. I apologized for being 15 mins late and then get the first snotty slap your appt was at 8 not 8:15 again i apologize and feel bad.... Im so sorry I wrote 8:15 in my purse calendar....her response very snippy was you should reschedule but we should be able to fit you in again in a very apologetic voice i say thats fine i will still take today, so she proceeds to slam down the mouse on the desk and let out a big groan....to which i say hey ive been coming here for years and this is the first time i have been late (we had a snowstorm the day before so it was a little slow getting out) and from the back of the room another female groomer says Mam .... (which right away raises the hair on the back of my neck and i can hear my heart beating in my ears)....we all got here on time IN my head im saying well gold star for you....instead i say im sorry (again) but i dont appreciate being ganged up on. I wont be bringing Abby here anymore. Their loss....i am a darn good tipper! My point to the manager was you never know whats going on in a persons life so if their day is running a little later than usual or they just have an off day dont stand there making them feel like they broke the law or something! These women I got b-slapped by this morning need some sensitivity training or something! Take a chill pill!
We went there to get Guinea Pigs there were two old ones so we got those, but we wanted two more, so we asked “do you have baby guineas pigs” they said that they didn’t know and they will go check in the back. They ended up having a bunch of babies so they took us back there. We went into the back and they had one of those cheap plastic 4 drawer storage carts, filled with baby guinea pigs. There were about 20-30 baby guinea pigs in each SMALL drawer, no bedding just ONE water bottle in each drawer, that’s it.

2022-04-08I board my kitty at OP Petsmart Hotel and Collin, the Manager, and his Staff are all so amazing and caring. My kitty had a tough time adjusting to being away from home. Collin found a way to make things better and to put me at ease through the stress this caused. Petsmart is so fortunate to have Collin and his wonderful staff.

2022-02-14We absolutely love the Pet’s Hotel at the Orchard Park PetSmart. This is the second time that I’ve taken my dog there and plan on coming back. Everybody takes such good care of my little girl. She can be very nervous and fearful but the employees treat her very kind and gentle. The manager of the hotel, Collin, is amazing. My dog has taken a liking to him so he always makes sure to check up on her and give her lots of pets! The employees are all very honest and tell me about my dog and how her stay was. I know when I drop her off that she is in good hands. Thank you guys for taking such good care of my Cecelia. ❤️

2022-04-11Great place to shop, but hours of operation are confusing. They should have one set time that the store opens not two separate times. They have one time for grooming only and then a second time which is an hour later for the store. However, they are letting people go into the store and shop before store hours. The automated doors are not turned on so people are forcibly opening them. They should choose and fix the hours of operation to one time only so that the confusion does not happen.

2022-05-15Would be 5 stars but theres no doggie wash station unless you want to go to one of their groomers. My dog was traumatized by a groomer at another per supply store so we have to do all her grooming.

2021-06-25I am typically pretty happy shopping at this PetSmart. My only gripes are routine fish stocking and petcare customer service, but I dont believe this is the only store with this particular issue. Distribution centers at most retail stores have been affected because of Covid. And petcare associate service is spotty but again, I think its due to Covid staffing. I recently purchased 3 butterfly koi and 2 regular koi from this location. The colors are starting to come through after being stressed and they are all beautiful. Very happy with my purchase. Will buy more in the future.
