I started visiting Philip Williams in the 80s in downtown New York - i found a treasure of vintage Greek and Egyptian travel posters - 3 of them by Spyros Vasiliou made in the 40s - i framed them and took them with me to retirement in Greece 30 years later - they are fabulous and Philip is such a simpatico pro.
Awesome place! Staff said it is the biggest poster store in the whole world, and hell yes. Although it results kind of difficult to look for a poster by yourself, employees are friendly and make the search a little bit easier.I also met the owner, this gray-haired geek that immediately denotes his huge passion and love for the store. Really nice experience, hope to come back soon.
This place is heaven for vintage art fanatics. The staff is extremely knowledgable and they have terminals set up throughout the store where you can search for names or genres, which makes sorting through the massive stacks of paper less stressful. Even if you dont have the budget for authentic vintage art, stop in just to look. Its beautiful.
What a find. This place is like poster heaven. Thousands of old world posters of any size and probably any budget. Most of them are not framed. Its really hard to go through the inventories as most of the posters were piled on top of each other. Need to spend a good amount of time if you really want to find something to buy there.
I came here to search for vintage posters and magazines - not disappointed. They had original covers and magazines in some instances - not reprints you normally find in art shops/streets.There is a framing studio just across if youd like your posters framed - Trilogy Photo Lab.
Youd be surprised what little gems you can find for $15 in their plethora of posters. And for those looking to spend $800+ on a grand decoration, this is the place to go. The owner and staff are all very friendly, they really want you to walk out with what you were looking for.

2022-01-24The place is incredible. You can spend the entire day there just gazing and analyzing all of the posters and art. Pricing of the posters is really good too for the originality and quality that you are getting. The owner has been doing this for over 40 years and he knows exactly what to have in store. Very kind, worldly individual as well. I plan to come back to decorate my apartment from floor to ceiling with large posters :D Highly recommended looking online if you’re looking for something specific, you can really filter to the T, countries, languages, movies, decades, etc. luv luv luv

2021-01-30THE BEST POSTER SHOP IN ALL OF NY!! Not the mention Philip, the owner, is so kind and knows exactly what he’s doing. You name any type of print, he has it. Make sure to check out the vintage magazines. Tip: Look online beforehand to get a better idea of the thousands of different posters to choose from

2022-05-24Came today at 3:30, poster says « closed until 4pm », came back at 5:30, poster says « closed at 5pm today »… the pictures look great from the street (hence the 2 stars), but updating the timetables would help

2020-01-19This store is a real gem. The selection is mind boggling. I really liked that they had back issues of Life magazine - I wanted to pick up the issue for my dads birthday but sadly they didnt have it in stock. We did pick up some nice covers from back issues or The New Yorker, which I imagine will look even more beautiful once framed. They also do international shipping (handy to know as I was visiting NYC and could not fit a massive poster in my cabin luggage! The staff are very friendly/helpful and the full catalogue is contained online (but that still doesnt beat going down to check out the wares!). Highly recommend checking this place out.

2022-04-04I liked it. I would go again. Its a place to shift through a lot of posters and magazines, and while that can be a delightful surprise on its own, I would have loved more curation.
