Let my start off by saying the how the food was amazing!!! Me and my husband got two pho Tibet special with some dumplings and it was the best thing we’ve ever had. The girls working were also amazing. She was so friendly and told us how the pho soups were made. We will For sure come back again:)
We went to New Paltz for an afternoon out of the city. We were looking for hot spots in town and came across Pho Tibet. We weren’t welcoming in great manner, music was awful, it was rap music with very explicit lyrics that my toddler shouldn’t listen too, specially in a restaurant!. I saw a family across of us and they seem bother for the loud music too. I asked nicely to the waitress to change it and she did. Food was ok, nothing special. But the customer service was not good at all. We felt rushed and noticed how they went back the explicit music just as we were getting ready to leave. Wondering if that was the motive for such an awful service and rush?Owner of this place: pay attention to your customer service, it’s killing your business! Your staff is not friendly.
Everything about this restaurant is amazing. The food is fresh, delicious, and even reheats well. The service is great (Phurbu and his team are gems). My entire family will continue to come back whenever possible. The Momo are a personal favorite but you can’t go wrong with Pho, a Banh Mi, or anything with the duck in it.
Probably my favorite restaurant in New Paltz, have tried practically all the places here on main street and I keep coming back here. My house blacked out for a few days, so I couldnt cook at all and had to eat out. Was craving warm comfort food and this hit the spot. Came here five days out of the week even though my house got power again. Wanted to try more dishes, dont have pictures for it all, but wow Pho Tibet really did not disappoint - the flavors are so so rich and savory.Even brought my dad and recommended this place to a bunch of my friends. And they have all loved and enjoyed the food, the broth for the Pho is IMMACULATE, sooo flavorful, my friends and I drank every last sip of the broth. The waitresses, waiters, and chefs are all so nice and it feels as if youre eating at your familys. They even started to recognize me and I feel very welcomed. I could go on about how good the food is, but you just have to come try it for yourself. You will not regret it.I have tried the following and have already re-ordered it all:1) Avocado Summer Roll2) Shrimp Spring Roll3) Pho Tibet Special4) Classic Banh Mi5) Grilled Porkchop Banh Mi6) Lemongrass Chicken Banh Mi7) Beef Momo8) Beef Shabtak9) Tingmo10) Vietnamese Hot Coffee11) LemonadeAll in all, good music, beautiful decorations, authentic Tibetan and Vietnamese, and chill workers.
It is located in beautiful small town of New Paltz. There are plenty of parking around the corner. They have great selection of authentic Tibetan food. Their Vietnamese style pho is also really good. Their chicken momo is so good. Price is decent and service is great. Beautiful ambience, due to covid less seating available indoor.
Today was actually my first time at pho Tibet and the sandwiches are just made in heaven which goes same with the shrimp spring rolls I had. As it was my first time in pho Tibet the manager took my order and talked me through the whole menu. She even taught me how to eat the spring rolls which made it taste 10x better. I will sure be taking that 30 min drive for this restaurant.
Delicious food at a great price in the heart of Newpaltz.Decour was cosy and wait staff were nice.I had the Pho Tibet special with rice, and my friend has the Pho Tibet special Pho Noodle soup. The braised short ribs were cooked perfect and so tender, and the noodle soup was packed with flavor (I got to eat her leftovers). We also had the shrimp spring rolls which were crisp and crunchy, it was especially good with the mint and lettuce your supposed to roll them up in. And the Beef Momos which to be honest I could have probably gotten 2 more orders with how juicy and mouth wateringly delicious they were.If your looking for something tasty on main Street this is definitly the spot.
It was my first time at pho tibet and the pho tibet special was to die for just like the avocado summer I had. And my server with the red hair was also so nice and fast most definitely gon try it again 😋😋😋😋 the momos were really good nd the food came fast, overall I recommend this spot it’s really a good spot if you new to Tibetan food.
I would totally give this place 4 stars if the waiters weren’t so rude. As my husband and I were nearing the end of our meal (but not finished), one of the servers asked if we were ready to settle with the wireless credit card machine in hand. We politely said, “we’re still working on our meal”. She then rolled her eyes and walked away annoyingly. That just killed the vibe and really made me upset. I used to wait tables and manage restaurants. Never roll your eyes at your customers. I’ll come back for the food though, I’ll just lower my expectations for basic clientele courtesy.
I would avoid the restaurant serving spoiled food intentionally. We had lunch here. Everything was good until the grilled corn. It’s served 2 pieces grilled corn, one top, one bottom. The top tip was molded,(since it’s grilled, it’s actually hard for customers to taste or see it unless you look carefully. )We asked server, she apologized and made a new order for us.The second order came. The interesting thing is that they are 2 bottom parts of corn this time ( corn normally starts molded from the top). I look carefully and see little mold spot on one of them too.It feels like they know their corns are not fresh and molded, but tried to hide it and still serve them to customers. It made me worry about other food I’ve eaten already. It is bad.
Service is terrible. They took a long time to get back to our table and with attitude. They only offer chopsticks so you mY have to request for forks if you dont know how to use chopstickd. The menu is limited compared to any other Vietnamese restaurants. Prices are expensive for a small portion. Food was just alright. I tried many Vietnamese restaurants before so i know the food price and quality but this place is just terrible. It has high ratings due to many customers are students, tourists, and visitors who doesnt know much about Vietnamese food.
Frist time I tried this place after a long day hiking at lake Minnewaska . I don’t know how this place got high ratings and their pho is nasty and size big is like a baby bowl. The broth tastes watered down and even then it’s not authentic at all, there were a few beef inside the bowl ( i have ordered the pho Tibet beef special ) it’s cost $13 for a kid size? It’s ridiculous and service is terrible you find yourself always have to flag down the waitress when the place isn’t even busy at all and when you do finally get their attention they give you the cold shoulder and brush you off. No matter how polite you are. Very disappointed and never come back here again!
Every time I come in to this place the young girl with glasses is always the rudest nastiest person. She has such an attitude and it’s clear she only works there bc we family owns the place. Do not go there, there are plenty of other places in the area where the staff are nice.
Really great restaurant to dine in. It is quite a big place as compared to most of the New Paltz restaurants. The food is amazing. We are vegetarian and we did find loads of options here. The vegetarian momos and vegetarian pho was delicious. They gave a hot chilli sauce with momos which in house made in Himalayan style. It was so hot and tasty that we ended up buying some for our home. Definitely recommend this place.
It’s been a while since I had really good Pho, and this place delivers, big time !The broth is amazingly flavourful.I had the beef Pho which was amazing. We also had the chicken lemongrass Momo which was delightful.I don’t live in the area, but I’m starting to think an hour and a half drive isn’t so bad for great Pho !
Wowow! wasn’t sure what to expect! but super yummy and filling! i ordered their pho tibet special pho and it was the right amount of spicy! they also packed with so much noodles and meat. could barely finish… the brussel sprouts is also a must! it was savory and cooked nicely with crunchy fried shallots and cilantro.would highly recommend and return to this place if i ever visit New Paltz area!
I was pleasantly surprised by this place. The food here was absolutely AMAZING!!! I order the grilled pork chop and catfish with rice to top it off with Vietnamese hot coffee and wow! I was blown away by how flavorful everything was. This place is a must visit if your in town, trust me you wont regret it.
Pho Tibet is my favorite place to eat in New Paltz! The staff are always so nice and the service is great. The food is also amazing. The pho noodle soup, momo, and spring rolls are all must haves. I highly recommend supporting this amazing local business, you will not be disappointed.
So many options in New Paltz, a local recommended we try Pho Tibet. I usually order pho ga, and but the waiter recommended the “pho tibet special” with the short rib, and it was the right move. Its incredible! Great atmosphere, manager is so kind. We came back the next day, and got 2 bahn mi classic sandwiches. Love this place! Absolutely recommend!!
Please note, the 1 star is basically based on service. If i rated the food it would be 3 or 4 stars. We are a family of 4, a toddler and a 5 yr old. Upon entering, no greeting or direction as to sit or wait to be seated. The entire dining experience was a rush... when the waitress took our order she was knowledgeable of the food. I was very clear that I wanted a side of rice and a side of plain rice noodles (both for the kids). The spring rolls appetizer was brought with NO plates. I had to eat the salad portion of it over a napkin where all the dressing spilled on the table. We eventually got plates after asking. Then we had to wait again for utensils for the kids. Our food items came out 1 at a time. We finally had everything except my sons noodles. I asked the waitress, she acknowledged it but still never brought it. I then had to ask another waiter who brought them right away. Every time we needed something I had to get up and ask someone. It was a very displeasing dining experience. We will not be returning.
Fast service and delicious pho & banh mi. I highly recommend the fried catfish banh mi as it’s not often you can find it. They can also make it spicy if that’s something you’d like. The momo dumplings were also well seasoned and tasty. Would return for sure next time I’m in New Paltz!
Stopped by on main street on the way back from Hudson valley. While walking around the cute street, browsing stores, this restaurant caught our eye. Being a crisp fall day, pho seemed to be a great snack option. Got the chicken pho coupled with summer shrimp rolls and a side of beef momo. The pho was delicious and hit the spot. The shrimp summer rolls were fresh and delicious with the complimenting peanut sauce condiment. The beef momo ..was not the greatest primarily because I prefer some flavor and the momo was a bit lacklustre for me.All in all, friendly and prompt service and a yummy stop-over on our way home.
The worst Viet food Ive eaten in my entire life, avoid this place at All costs. I grew up eating Viet food all the time, so i gave this place multiple tries and all their dishes i ordered were not good, not authentic, small portions. The shrimp spring rolls i tried today tased like they had gone bad, Odered short ribs pho, broth had no flavor, ribs were old taste. Also poor customer service, young girl waitress was so rude. i will not return!
Not recommended! Asked if the pho is spicy, waitress confirmed it wasnt. Looked at the menu no mention of it. Guess what, its spicy and filled with chillies! The owner blamed the waitress for it, NOT HER fault! Nowhere on the menu it said the meat was marinated in chillies! Dishonest owner kept trying to blame it on the new waitress, she did her job perfectly fine. Take ownership. Will not return.
Stopped in New Paltz to meet up with some friends and we decided to try this new place out. We got the veggie Banh Mi and the veggie Phō and it was perfect. The service was great as my water was always being refilled without my asking (something I always look for when I’m at a restaurant). The restrooms were also really clean (as was the whole restaurant). This will be a staple spot when visiting the village.
I eat Vietnamese regularly in Flushing, NY at a Vietnamese restaurant which has been there forever. I must tell you the food at this restaurant is on par with the fare I have been eating there forever. I had the Pho Tibet Special which features melt in your mouth short ribs. Try the Mo Mos as an appetizer and you wont be disappointed. I cannot wait to come back and try the Ban Mí and other specialties they offer
We loved the pho and momo but this last time we were there, I found a tiny beetle in my pho. I was disgusted. But what was more upsetting is the young girl that was waiting on us. She was so rude! She had a nasty attitude the entire dining experience and did not seem to be phased by the bug in my pho. No apologies, no remorse, NOTHING. We will not be returning because of that server. Someone should teach her manners and how to properly serve your customers.
Highly recommend this place. Beautiful ambiance and very attentive staff. The foods are delicious and portioned well. If you are in New Paltz area, this is a must visit restaurant. Try their dumplings which you can get in beef, chicken or vegetarian options. Will try some Vietnamese dishes during next visit.
Sweet scene, not only is the food delicious but the prices are very affordable for a single person or a student on a budget. Ive had the opportunity to go to the Himalayas, this restaurant brought back such positive memories. Thank you Pho Tibet, so glad you are in New Paltz. Im proud to have such an establishment right on main street!
The pork chop pho is amazing! To the one curmudgeon that commented this was not authentic Vietnamese, the place is called Pho TIBET. Tibet is not in Vietnam. Are you really surprised? I agree it’s not authentic traditional Vietnamese (at least the pork chop pho isn’t), but it is delicious noodle soup worth every penny. I’ll be back again and again.

2022-05-03Had lunch on a Saturday and was happy they were able to accommodate a party of 7 with no issues. We had the Pho Tibet Special and Beef Pho as entrees. Both had tasty broths, if I had to pick one over the other, Id go with the Special as it was more savory. We also ordered the Avocado Summer Rolls and an order of Vegetable Momo. Both were nice appetizers, though some in our party thought the Beef Momo they ordered was a little bland, vegetable momo was flavorful however. Overall, the food was nice and for a good price too. We did need to repeatedly ask for some of the food and drinks we ordered and the matching amount of silverware per person from the server, which wasnt the best as they werent slammed, but we were understanding.Give this place a try if you havent already, its worth the visit!

2022-03-01Despite the fact the young lady with glasses did not care to provide good customer service the food was enjoyable. She was rude and short with us. Did not feel welcome by her at all. Atmosphere was nice, food presentation was on point, and the taste was exquisite. As an avid food lover, I recommend retraining your waitress to provide better service to your customers. The food may be great, but it only takes one staff member to ruin it for everyone. Thus, three star review.

2022-06-19The food is great. But the music doesn’t correspond to the theme of the restaurant. Please play Tibetan/Vietnamese music so people can experience the vibe of the culture:)

2022-02-23It was a cold windy day and I thought a hot bowl of Pho would hit the spot. But I wasnt sure if getting a Vietnamese dish here would meet my expectations. Im happy to say it did. The broth was very flavourful. There was more meat in the dish than I expected or that I get in my usual Vietnamese restaurants. I can definitely recommend the beef pho.

2021-12-29Went to Tibet Pho for a reunion with my friend today. Pho broth was good and the spring rolls were tasty too. Portion is a little small compared to the price. However I had to give 3 stars because of terrible customer service. The young waitress in glasses and red hair was rude and always had an attitude. It seems like she’s not happy working at the restaurant? She was not friendly and made us feel unwelcome. If it wasn’t for the food I’d never come back here… Nobody would want to eat with an attitude like that…?

2020-12-26A simple restaurant with friendly and hospitable staff. They serve delicious food and customize it well for vegetarians. Staff members are very humble. The place a calm ambience with soothing music and lights. Pho is served hot and fresh. Dumplings and coffee is a top notch. I would definitely recommend visitors to check out this place at New Paltz and enjoy a sumptuous meal.

2022-05-01Went with a group of 5, everyone had something different and loved it - Spring Rolls, Summer Rolls, Vermicelli, Pho and I had short rib Banh Mi which was delicious. Staff was great and knowledgeable helping with a required gluten free meal. They have a great selection of gluten free items.
