Piccolo in other cities:
Good neighborhood restaurant. Ive had catering from here too and they didnt disappoint. On my last visit though someone in my party ordered a dish that came out frozen in the middle but hot on the outside. Clearly not freshly made. It was sent back and took a good 10 minutes to come out overcooked on top and hearted throughout. Again they didnt bother to make a fresh dish. Disappointing. Everyone elses dish was great. Make sure to ask for your pasta al dente otherwise it will be soft.
Wonderful service and food. I went for a family party and thay had great accommodations inside to fit us all as well as offering mostly outdoor seating to other diners. The food was outstanding and the wait-staff was extremely courteous and kept all of our coffees and teas topped up the whole time. Will definitely be back.
We were a party of 8 and everyone’s food was amazing! (Even the picky eaters were happy!) We drove a half hour to have a birthday dinner there and the food was as great as ever! Our server Michelle was delightful. She was very attentive, professional, and friendly. I would highly recommend their alfredo sauce.
Very nice place - you won’t go wrong - home style Italian place - it has it all. Nice cozy & lively bar area - quick pickup pizza slice or sandwich and a nice dining hall which is busy most of the time.Tried the Lucky combo - the Eggplant Parmesan was awesome - the Chicken Parmesan was a bit dry for me. Will be back to try other items for sure.
My wife ordered lasagna, linguini with clams and garlic bread as a catering package for our wedding. She dealt with Jose who ensured that the food was delicious, delivered exactly on time, fresh and warm. Jose helped to setup the food racks too. I cannot wait to come back here and try different dishes! This place is the definition of award winning service!
Absolutely amazing. Food is great the staff cares. I had a death in the family and needed food. They took our order, Delivered it. They werent sure is if wanted the Manicotti with an extra topping so they gave us a tray with the topping and without no charge. When asked they said they knew we were busy and didnt want to bother us. Cant say enough nice things about how they treated us. Thank you
Ordered take out from here 2x and both times we came home with the wrong food & missing items ordered due to the girls at the counter. When I called to complain they didn’t even try to accommodate me. First time although my order was incorrect the food was excellent. Second time the pizza was under cooked and extremely salty. Due to inconsistency I will not be ordering again nor will I recommend it to anyone.Piccolo needs to get it together & hire better staff to answer phones and take orders.
Had a Birthday celebration for my sister in law. They start the meal with a salad which has a little of everything salami provolone tomato cucumber olives with a nice vinaigrette. I had the veal parmigiana with angel hair pasta, veal was tender the pasta was cooked perfect all In all a nice evening.
Good restaurant with tasty food. Food was freshly prepared and service was very good. Restaurant looks nice and clean. Well maintained and has good Italian vibes. Appetizers were good. Salads were good. Pasta was good. Scarsala dish was good. Everyone seemed to enjoy. I would recommend this place.
My wife and I ate here the day that we moved to Wantagh. That was over 20 years ago and we have been regular customers ever since. Food is great and plentiful, and the waitstaff always treats us like family. Love the specials. Haven’t ordered off the regular menu in years! Even had the Chicken Alto brought to me when I was in the hospital on New Years Eve one year. Love that dish.
This restaurant was wonderful. The owner/manager joked about being referred to as the maitre d. The appetizer of buffalo calamari was tender, spicy, and delicious. The antipasto and bread were fresh and tasty. Our main courses, shrimp parmigiana for me, and Prince Edward island mussels for her, were extremely generous in portion size and cooked to perfection. I would recommend this restaurant highly.
We didn’t eat in the restaurant but had a delivery to our home. Putting the food aside, the person that delivered our food was such a gentleman and helpful. I asked his name hoping we could have him deliver our food again. His name is Tyler. What a wonderful person. We tipped him 5x the amount of the food. He’s worth more. The food was hot and delicious as usual. Thank you Tyler..
We probably order pizza from here once a week, tonight we decided we wanted to try a couple of pasta dishes and the calamari corleone, we just received our order and NOTHING is even warm, let alone hot. We live 7 minutes from the restaurant, no reason for that. Super disappointing birthday/Mother’s Day dinner, that I now have to spend time heating.
We usually enjoy the food and atmosphere here. We went there last night for our 5th wedding anniversary. My husbands dish was fine but instead of getting pasta Primavera with linguine, I was served pasta with penne (not my favorite pasta). I decided not to return it when asked. When I requested crushed red pepper, the server brought over the pepper mill about 5 minutes later. My husband then asked again for the crushed red pepper, which we were given a little more quickly.
This is one of the top 5 go-to places wed recommend to someone wanting good Italian food. The menu is large, the specials are fantastic, and they make innovative drinks & desserts. Dont hesitate, just head over to Piccolos and enjoy the food, ambiance & great family atmosphere.
Nice looking place. Huge menu selection. Waitress was ok. She seemed to get annoyed when we asked for bread (wasnt just me that noticed). Food was not great. Got sick.. If it was a neighborhood place, just based on the menu and comfortable look of the place, I would give it another try but wouldnt travel 1 hr (like we did) to go there
Nice local pizzeria with descent dishes. They have a great party room in the back for small events as well as a nice size to seating area for the fuller restaurant. Most of the time I have the pasta and its pretty good. The combo dishes let you try a little bit of everything just know its completely covered in cheese. Easy enough to kill off because its just too much but the food underneath is pretty good.
We sat down and ordered a in house Pie. Kitchen was a little backed up but the guy came over and promptly let us know and gave us garlic knots with sauce. The pie came out shortly after that. And it was well worth the wait. The pie was just as we ordered it. Well done, crispy. The sauce is sweet and the pizza is probably the best Ive ever had on long Island. The staff was very friendly and professional. Definitely be going back very soon. Thanks again Piccolos!
We had our 50th Anniversary celebration here on December 7th this year. From the moment we spoke with Tommy to the day of the gathering, we had a wonderful experience. The delicious, plentiful portions of food kept coming out and Sophia and the rest of the staff were on top of everything. My guests were well fed and enjoyed every minute. I can’t thank you enough for making our day special and highly recommend Piccolos because of their delicious food and service.
I did not eat here today. I was at a store next door. I had sausage and peppers at home waiting for me. I walked in and asked for some bread. Gentlemen asks if I need a big hero or what.I tell him its for a sandwich at home. He knows and walks away.Another gentlemen says its $1.50. okay I take out some cash. The first gentleman walks up and hands me a half of a small bowl bread wrapped in foil. I thank him and offer him money and he waves me off its on the house.WOW I think this is very generous and caring.I thanked the gentleman and left thinking how appreciative I was and how a tiny gift made me so thankful.Gracias, e buen dios primos
Service charge if you use a credit card? Dont embarrass yourself with that fee and trying to explain it. Your a long time business owner you should know better. Food was totally not worth the prices either is the location. Much better Italian food in the area its only a glorified pizza place .
Update August 5th, 2020: Ordered the chicken shoemaker to go last night. Specified that I wanted it cooked al dente with light oil and light butter. The pasta was soggy, it was extremely oily, and there was enough garlic to wipe out an army of vampires. Woke up today feeling nauseated from it. Im extremely disappointed and wondering if they changed chefs/ownership or just stopped caring. The food was so gross, I doubt Ill ever be back. And I have been a loyal customer for well over a decade, including having birthday parties here, taking dates here, celebrating anniversaries and graduations here, and introducing this place to my family and friends. I know they were very busy last night because of the power outages but thats just not an excuse for the poor quality of food. Ive been here when there worse problems and never experienced this before. Below was my original review. Im leaving it in tact for reflection.I ordered the chicken shoemaker, its one of my favorite dishes here and they didnt disappoint. They always bring you out salad and bread and have a friendly wait staff as well.
Id give this place a full five stars, as the atmosphere is nice and the food was great. But when I came, I was with a large party, and our waiter was clearly unequipped to handle it. I couldve forgiven the fact that all the appetizers and bread was placed at the ends of the table, leaving out the middle entirely. But what I cant forgive is that our waiter kept serving the other side of the table by reaching over me. Whether it was out of laziness or incompetence Im not sure, but over a period of two hours, it was quite annoying. So, in short, great food and mediocre service.
It was my wifes 70th birthday my daughter suggested Piccolo a family restaurant near her home. I invited 10 people. The food and service was great but they charged me $ 12.00 non cash adjustment Never heard of it before. it was my wifes birthday so I paid it and left The bill was $370.00 with a $ 60.00 tip. Piccolos lost my for. $12.00
Love love love Piccolo as theyre my favorite restaurant the food is superb the service on comparable and the atmosphere is cozy and romantic. Highly recommended. They can accommodate a party of 36 in their private room which is decorated beautifully. The bathrooms are very clean and spacious.
8/19/2017 Went to Piccolo for my Wifes Birthday. Been there many times also have had catered parties there, Very Good. This night was a Very Bad Experience. Started off with drinks and the Draft Beer came and it was not filled even close to the top, that was OK. The second beer came and it was half head. Told waitress you dont serve a beer that way, she said the keg was running out. Why serve it that way? I sent it back and canceled the order. Salad came and there was no bread. When I finally got a hold of the waitress and asked her did you forget the bread? I was told they burnt it and it would take a few minutes to get it. Bread came after the salad was eaten. Dinner came and my Wifes Chicken Franceses sauce was too grease didnt taste right. By this time we had enough and got our check. Dont know if we will ever come back or recommend Piccolo. Think the staff should be trained on to serve food correctly and how to communicate with the customer if there is a problem with their order and not to make excuses for the problem.
They lose one star for the pizza: sauce was sour and the crust was stale. I’ll be sticking to Manhattan for pizza. However they have amazing salads that keep me coming back to them. However for my takeout order, they didn’t give me napkins or a fork plus it took a while for a grilled chicken house salad and a grandma slice. That’s something they need to work on.
Food is eh. Service was not great. Granted I was there with a party, but that shouldnt effect the quality of the food. Garlic knots were bland, margherita pizza was bland, house salad wasnt spectacular, their meat sauce for the pasta was not good at all.. entree was eggplant rollitini which was palatable with salt and parmesan. House red wine was awful, white was okay. Highlight were the cannolis..So, 3 stars at best.Had to ask 4 times just to get a soda. 2 stars.
Im a chef with a 30 years of experience and I’ve been to piccolos 3 times..I have enjoy every single bite that I have taste in this place . The staff are very friendly and well trained the food is always delicious.. and the portions are very generous and the price is right. well done piccolos👍👍
Great food and service provided by waitress Laurie. The food was good too. I had a special Spaghetti Squash with chicken. Pretty good. I had Peanut Butter Cheeze Cake. Fantastic but I couldn’t finish it. Big serving, my Wife had sugarfree cheeze cake. Suprisingly great taste too. I need to return to this restaurant.
Thank you to Piccolos for helping cater my fiancees 30th birthday! Ordered food a few days before and it worked out perfectly. They helped me plan out just enough food to feed our guests and as always the food was extraordinary. We had the veal marsala, chicken parmigiana and rigatoni alla vodka. We will definitely be catering from here again.
Honestly I dont know what all the fuss is about. Ambiance is pedestrian. I had a combo dish with meatballs that pale in comparison to my own and tasted frozen then reheated. Sausage was ok although Garden State from Costco is tastier. Manicotti were decent as was the ravioli. The sauce was good but the dish was not worth the price. Better than Olive Garden but thats not a high bar. Anyway I tried the famous Piccolo and was left unimpressed.
Terrible service, i was surprised to have a family of 4 sit next to me to at the bar treated with the hospitality one would expect while the bus boy acted as my waiter (whom also served the family). there were even 2 waitresses next to me in the kitchen the whole time, i guess they couldnt be bothered. they just delivered the food to me and didnt come back to ask if i needed anything which i did, didnt even refill my water. food was meh, i got the chicken francese and it was overly salted, they salted the chicken and served it in a salted butter sauce, will not be back.
Eclectically designed, comfortable dining room with two additional private party rooms, My wife & I enjoyed Piccolo Ristorante in Bellmore immensely. A couple of glasses of wine were perfect for their generously portioned, authentic Italian dishes. We LOVED the house salad and focaccia bread included with our meal. The staff were genuinely friendly. High marks for portions, palette, and presentation.
Disappointed tonight. This is the second time that I have had to wait more than one hour for our main course.. I could understand if the the restaurant was busy, but it wasnt. The Chicken Marsala was not up to par, but the Chicken Franchese was quite good. .Our waitress Carol was a doll, and did all she could to keep us happy while we waited for our entrees.
I didn’t like this place and I don’t write reviews that often, but they have absolutely no space for people to eat during the day. If you want to eat pizza with your children or family, you have to sit on the bar stools...What about parents that have infants?Second I found their pizza to be really soggy and overly sweet.Last time I’ll be eating there.
Actually I was pretty shocked, Ive been a long time customer but the service wasnt good at all & unfortunately the food was just ok. Theres also a service charge to use a credit card which we werent told about nor did we see any notifications, not many ppl carry a few hundred dollars cash for dinner on a Thurs Eve & I believe signs should be posted? Disappointed being that Ive been going there since I was a child.
I have to say what a huge disappointment ! Ive been using Piccolo pizzeria for catering for many years. So many family occasions. This place went down hill. The food was terrible right down to the garlic knots and pizza cubes. Im hoping this was just a bad day for the restaurant, but I dont think so. Time to look for another caterer. What a shame.
Simply Amazing! My african american family were visiting New York for the first time and were in search of fabulously authentic italian food. Through various searches we stumbled on Piccolos ristorante. From the moment we opened the doors we were in heaven! the Hostess was warm and friendly! Not only did she seat us at our table but she also came by a couple of times during our evening to check on us and inquiry about where we were from. amazing. Our extraordinarily fabulous waitress Jessica was fast, friendly and intuitive. a MUST for any great waitress worth her salt. Knowing that this was our first visit, she recommended excellent menu choices for our table. She even asked the kitchen if they would augment certain menu items to suit my tastebuds. But the slam dunk of the night was her complimentary platter or fried pasta with a sweet plum tomatosauce. Outstanding!!!Its rare that 5 star service, food and atmosphere are found within the same place. Im glad we found it at Piccolos! I hope thousands more venture to this place!
Overpriced and poor food.We went once and WILL NEVER SET FOOT in this establishment again AND GIVE BAD PRESS WHENEVER ASKED!!!!!!The Chinese takeout place next door makes Piccolo pale by comparison.Next time, use some intelligence when someone asks to add a few shrimp to a plate!
Superb, Outstanding , Top shelf Still the best after eating here for over 20 years, always reinventing classic dishes, always able custom taylor you dish personally, always proffesional staff, cooks, owner always available to d oi walk through asking how are things, food etc..
Watch OutI was surprised by a 4% price adjustment added to my bill for using a credit card. It was not disclosed, and did not see the required signs. That alone made it the last time I will visit this Restaurant. The food is decent, but the tables and chairs very crowded, and service below par.
Im 75. Over half my life, 38 years Ive been coming here with the same wife. Hey! Why switch when youve found a good thing? We stopped in for lunch. Me, the Manicotti. Nice! The wife had their Shrimp cocktail and Minestrone zuppa, Yep, the shrimp was good; but, you gotta try the soup, badda bing!
Food was OK....i had the uno which is shrimp chicken and penne with marinara and mozzarella..the sauce was very basic chicken and shrimp was fresh at least.... I always compare all my Italian outings to a place called Vincents in carle place it always puts Italian restaurants to shame..

2022-04-09As a worker, the experience and culture is fantastic! I love my job working here. Every time I show up to work here it’s like a family hangout. Every helps each other out. It’s actual team work and it feels great. Yesterday was my dad’s birthday and I requested a reservation in the backroom and Tommy, the owner made it happen. My family loved the food and they said they would 110% come back again to have lunch of dinner here. The ownership here is fantastic. I tried the food myself and it’s unbelievable! Thank you Tommy for providing such good culture and Jake the manager for creating such a positive hardworking environment for me. Never had that any other place I worked at. 👏🏼

2022-04-15Piccolo is great. They offer Pizza, Pasta, Salads, Wines, Desserts, etc: Our favorites are the Combo Italian Dishes when you cant decide on one thing. The combos make your decision much easier! We have never had a bad dish at this restaurant. This place is a good staple for any family.

2022-06-06Piccolo’s food is reliably wonderful. Great pizza. We arrived close to closing, and they lavished many remaining slices of pizza upon us. Hot and very tasty.

2020-12-30Food here was good. The grandma pie has a super thin crust for those who prefer that. Pastas were homey and comforting.

2021-12-30We used Piccolo Ristorante of Bellmore to cater our Christmas Eve and boy did they not disappoint. The food is top notch, fresh and delicious. We had a change in our plans and had to revise our order and they went above and beyond to assist us. The service too is just as great as the food. Will definitely be using them again for more parties!!

2022-01-01Classic local Italian restaurant. Extensive menu, good prices, lots of space, full bar, and great pizza. Also family friendly. In addition, they have a private space for parties ( we hosted a baby shower here).
