Its not the same anymore like before, the quality of the food is very poor now, they hire young people as server now and so lazy, they dont change our grill until burn, slow service dont even care the customers needs. Many food is not the same taste like before, the meat quality is so bad now, the marinated beef with bone is fake, they put other cheap meat with the reuse bone (meat & bone is seperated bcs the meat is not the part of the bone) so the customer think its the same kind of meat, I dont know how long they reuse the bone to put it in the container so people will think the meat is part of the bone. The bathroom is so disgusting with sticky water flood on the floor. This restaurant going down to the hill, they will going out if the business matter of time if they dont fix it. Shame that this restaurant used to be my favorite.Cast Iron all you can eat Kbbq in other hand is much better with quality meat, cheaper price and the waitress cooks all the meat for you, they have BETTER FOOD, BETTER PRICE AND BETTER SERVICE !!!ITS TIME TO MOVE ON FROM THIS DISGUSTING RESTAURANT !!!
The food here is good. But there is the new rules. If you’re a couple. You should not come after 6 pm. I even call earlier to make reservations bit they said we don’t make reservations for 2 people. You can come no wait for 2 people. Then when i arrived. The hostess said. The i arrived at 6 pm. They told me to come back at 9pm. (Why dont they tell me by the phone) and I live in the City. Just imagine how disappointed.
I used to love this restaurant but now really disappointed.1. Bad service especially man server, they really dont care about customer, I dont know where they go after they serve drink, we always look for somebody to change the grill.2. Bad Hygiene ! A shame a nice place like this with so many employee dont clean good, the restroom is disgusting!!!3. The quality of the meat is far from before, they mix some meat with junk meat and reusing the bone to deceiving people.( You can see the picture attached, the reuse the bone and put chunk fatty meat in it to deceiving people, I dont know how many time or days they using the bone to make it look the meat is part of the bone, but is not )4. They try to get more money so people pay for dinner price in the lunch time now, the latest lunch you come at 1pm otherwise you pay for dinner time. Its really make me disgust with this people. Its used to be good service and now very BAD SERVICE , BAD FOOD and BAD HYGIENE.
Came here with my family from NJ today for my birthday dinner and thought this was the worst AYCE Korean bbq place Ive ever been to. There were five of us and they seated us at a booth with one tiny grill. We had to find creative ways to put some mushrooms and meat. My husband brought a little foil container with what I believe was meant to be steamed egg but the raw egg never cooked so we didnt get to eat it. My brother also said dont get the pork since it would take very long to cook. The beef we got was mostly fat. They gave us like 15 cups of water too even though we never asked for it. My brother said he liked this place over cast iron but Im thinking we should have gone there instead. My father paid and said it was way expensive for low quality meat. Well probably go to a regular non AYCE) place next time.
Its OK. In regards to lunch, some of the meat looked like it was on the verge of being too old but there was also plenty fresher looking meat. They were slow to bring out the Korean Fried Chicken for lunch. The service was very 3 star. All in all, for $22 lunch, it was worth eating.
They have no regard for your time or money. I went there to meet a few friends for the lunch special we arrived at 1:15 because on the website it states that lunch is from 11:00am to 2:30. She explained that they know the website is wrong but they will still charge dinner prices because lunch ends at 1. We believe that they never made the change on the website because it’s an easy way to make more money. The staff is rude and the raw food is not fresh and looks like it’s been left out for days. We ended up not even staying after looking at the meat. If I had the ability to give it 0 stars I would. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Friendly service, Good Idea and Concept. However I personally was not a fan of the meats they had to offer. It’s not to my level of quality. But they do have all you can eat buffet style and cook at your table so it is definitely a fun experience. Hopefully they continue to improve!
The food is delicious. I love that they have a hotFood buffet with options you can munch on while you wait for your raw meats to cook. The wait time isn’t bad and their food is always coming in fresh and kept at the appropriate temperature. I always recommended this spot to people
First of all , food is Good. But, We came earlier today. The blonde hair Asian lady ( see attached photo she wrote her name to me) gave us very bad attitude. There should be a better way to explain restaurant policy, instead of yelling us. After I asked her wrote down her name and looking for manager. Her voice became softer and softer.I dont know why She has sneakily took pictures of us. Anyway, I will complaint to her manager tomorrow. Hoping restaurant manager could explain to us ASAP.
Went there for our first indoor dining since the restriction was lifted. On a Saturday, the place was only a quarter full on a Saturday at 4pm. It started to get half full by 6pm. Waiters will serve you the selections you choose instead of self-service. Table seatings have been spaced out to accommodate the 6ft distance rule. Nice to be dining indoors again. Even the ice cream desserts are Hershey’s brand so it’s pretty decent quality. Place is clean, staff are friendly and food is bang for your buck at $21 for lunch & $35 for dinner on weekends (all you can eat).
The food was alright but the service here is terrible. There were maybe three tables that were seated and four severs and while me and my family were eating, three of the servers all stood right at the empty table right across from ours and watched us eat and talked amongst themselves. Weirded me out. Though they were obviously not busy when I went, my server left the meat on the grill until they were all very burnt to the point where the meat were unrecognizable. Food was not the best quality and they have a very limited selection of hot food during lunch. There were almost no vegetables and none of the meat was labeled so you did not know what was what. The kinds of sauce they had were were also very limited. The price for lunch is maybe worth the quality but I personally would never come here for dinner.
The worst experience ever. The food quality is low. We arrived there around 1 pm. They told us we can pick up food up to 1:30. But after we started to grab food and sit they told we have to eat buy 2 pm. The food even could not be cooked by then. They were coming to us multiple times insisting we should hurry. It was a crazy day. We could not eat and the little things that I ate made me sick.
I came here for my nephews birthday, and let me say it was good lots of meats but the only problem was there was hardly sides and the buffet food that was cooked was almost gone it hardly had things to eat for the price , I asked if they was able to bring some honey wings that they had in the cooked buffet section and my waiter said no they was done and after I paid 37$ on a Thursday pp and was denied I won’t return it’s not fair so we just ate a bunch of meats with the only side they Gad was crystal noodles it was an ok experience!
If you are a party of 2, be prepared to be turn away. Apparently, they don’t want any party of 2 during 6-9pm. I was there around 6:30pm. The receptionist told us, they not taking any party of 2 until 9pm. Even though, I saw many tables were empty there. I was very disappointed. Been a loyal customer for more than 10 years. I will never come back again.
It was quite a surprise when the website says the weekend lunch price is $27, but the waiter tells you its $39 while leading you to your table. They also opened half an hour late when we went today. The food was good, but worth $27, not that ridiculous increase. For such a price, I would expect a larger variety of food and certainly not cheap & flavorless Hersheys chocolate ice cream in a plastic cup. I hate giving poor reviews, and Im sure inflation is causing everyone to struggle... but the cafeteria ice cream needs to go! Lol
The service is great for an all you can eat establishment. When we got there on a Saturday night... there wasnt any waiting. We were seated right away and given the drink menu. There is a great variety of meats and seafood. And there are good amount of pickles and cooked food as well.
Friendly and professional staff, no reserveration required in advance to get a table, and easy to find parking within a block away from the restaurant. Pretty decent variety of dishes not limited to just meat, but also vegetable, seafood, soup, and dessert. Preparing and cooking food is more on you, then on the waiter/waitress. Waiters/waitress will swing by every 10 minutes or so to make sure everything is satistifactory by swapping out the dirty grill with clean ones, making sure the water pitcher doesnt go empty, and making sure there a steady supply of napkins available. Price is a bit on the pricey side at almost $50 per person after taxes and tips.
My daughter and her friends were there this afternoon. I understood that pricing on Saturday afternoon is 27 dollars per person but they were charged 39 dollars. When I asked if they gave her a receipt she said no theyre young and naive and didnt ask for one. I feel like they we taken advantaged of because of their age. This will be the last time we ever patronize your establishment.
AYCE. $39 for adults and $26 for any kid over 4ft, (which I think is overpriced for kids). A 7-8 yr old kid would be paying $26 and they won’t be eating that much. Food quality I feel has gone down lately. Place is still packed as usual. Music is a little loud. The sauces and condiments are definitely lacking for Korean food. Ventilation is horrible, they need to clean or get much better vents. But for $39 per adult u will come out full.
I was so disappointed. The place was awesome before. It is my first time since it reopened. I was rushed in my meal. Cuz I dined in by myself. The waitress told me it is 40 dollars for one person. But they charge extra for one person and it should be around 70 dollars including tips. I kinda agree with that cuz I know I will have a good meal anyway. I don’t care about 70 dollars or 100 dollars. I was eating like 30 min. And I got the bill. Cuz it is limit time for one person. So I have to leave. Anyone who came before me they all stay and enjoy food. I cannot, I have to pay 70 dollars and leave. Such a wonderful experience in my life. Thanks for everything here. By the way I ate two plate meat and they told me I cannot take anymore. I don’t think anyone will come to this place anymore. And probably it is because of racism. They treat customers differently. So please ask what race customers can get in. It is said all you can eat buffet. I feel like all you can eat Anger today. By the way, I felt stomach ache after I left. The quality of the food is bad. Probably all cheap stuff what they order. I haven’t had such experience in my life. They gave me a lesson. Maybe they need to find a new manger who knows how to manage a restaurant and how to find good employees to work.
I have been going to Picnic Garden for 5+ years and if you like barbecue meat and unlimited quantities of it on your plate... look no further. It can get crowded and noisy but the quality of service and food have not faltered. Their new location is really clean and well maintained. Now go eat some meat!
Prices increased, expect to pay around $50 per person on a weekend. I asked 100x for lettuce and it came maybe twice throughout the night(I had party of 5). Customer service definitely went down. Quality of kalbi went down. I used to come here every week sometimes twice. You can find cheaper places but In terms of style I still prefer this to other kbbq because of their self-serve style and lots of cooked/side dishes like scallion pancakes, fried chicken, japchae, kimchi.
To be honest, Im really disappointed! The dishes are simple, the taste is mediocre, and most importantly the service is really bad! I understand that the restaurant is busy, but youve been urged to leave your seat before you even leave! If you need water or drinks or vegetables, they are very unfriendly! Will not come to this place again, is not the previous picnic garden!
I used to frequent the original location with the original owners a older husband and wife couple always in the restaurant in the late 1990s and was always a very happy buffet patron stuffing many a plate of Kalbi, other proteins, japchae, veggies, fruits, and dessert. Many as in 8-12 plates in a sitting then having to lie down on the wooden bench seats. Those were the days when I was young and the price was $23 or something with great selection, taste, and refill at the buffet bar. Always happily hobbling outside after loosening my pant belt and smelling like BBQ till we got home. Then in the mid or late 2000s the entry fee increased and quality of the meats decreased so we barely visited for years as there were many other AYCE and non Korean BBQs in NYC and NJ. Finally returned in 2011 or so - I was older & couldnt down as many plates but what went up was the price to a $45 or so. That was high back then but the quality of the meats improved so we were happy with that but the value wasnt much there anymore thus I never revisited with all the other options out there. In the 10+ years to modern times, yes Im old lol, I heard a year or so ago that Picnic Garden relocated and was still a AYCE Buffet thus I always wanted to give it another try just for old times sake and curious what the new Picnic Garden is about. So one Sunday night in May 2022 we stepped in to a nicely decorated huge restaurant compared to the OG Picnic Garden with the same and familiar menu items of the OG Picnic Garden. I was please to see this and pleased to see the current price was not crazy high compared to what I remembered it climbed up to 10 years earlier. Presently it is very reasonable at $39 or so. For this you get fresh and tasty decent quality cuts of Kalbi, beef, chicken, pork, squid, other proteins, prepared hot and cold food, japchae, soups, veggies, fruit, and ice cream. This night brought back many a happy memories of nights we stuffed ourselves like we were going to the electric chair the next day. Only thing I missed were my old friends/family, the older owner couple, and my ability to down 10 plates when u was younger. Lol. I will come back to new Picnic Garden more frequently now and highly recommend you try as well. Eat on!
If I could give this place six stars I would. Picnic Garden is the original Korean BBQ buffet in Queens. Im talking since like 1996 Ive been eating here. But back then it was their old location about a mile away from the new location. The interiors are just so inviting and you can see just how clean and well kept this place is. The meats here are always fresh and their hot food are delicious. They even have unlimited ice cream cups think small elementary school vanilla and chocolate cups! If you pay with cash, they will knock off $3 per guest. The service here is pretty good as in they wont rush you out the door like other places. Highly recommended!!
Eat all you can Kbbq at its finest! If you are looking for a spot to satisfy you’re koreab bbq cravings, then by all means, visit Picnic Garden BBQ Buffet. This is my go-to spot whenever I am in for some Kbbq feast.I missed this place when restaurant restrictions were enforced. But once they opened again, I immediately went and relived my Kbbq fantasies. What I like with this place is you get your money’s worth. They have a massive selection of meats - from beef, pork and chicken to a variety of ban chans! They also have some “western” food for those who are slowly assimilating to the kbbq experience.Visit Picnic Garden and let’s support our small businesses. Covid times are hard, but we New Yorkers need to stick together and support our own.
Food was just ok, barely served, loud music with low quality meat& food, not worse the price in my opinion. But I mainly giving this for the rude servers who worked on replacing food, they hate you and hate the job that’s how I felt, overall I regret my experience lol not recommend
Ive loved picnic garden since they ran business in the smaller place and always stopped by from time to time when me and my friends were hungry of meat, especially the ribs. Their ribs were very great, compare to the buffet price this is a steal. Moreover, there were a lot of improvements, such as the smoke hood, which worked very sufficiently. Thank you for this improvement. However, the service of staffs there were a bit rude. I understand how the pressure of working in the buffet place like this, but we paid nice on top of the service charge. Dont get me wrong, I still like picnic garden, and would love to go from time to time but it would be more happier if we were greeted by the smile of staffs there too.Ps. Dont forget to have the ice cream after meal. It comforts your heavy stomach very well.
Great experience as always here. Picnic garden has a pretty good buffet selection of already prepped and raw foods. They offer soup and porridge as well!I enjoyed the service here since they would often come to our table to help cut and cook the meats. They would also replace the metal tray after it was not possible to cook on it anymore. One particular food that they had was the cheesy corn. That one was not bad and it was an interesting twist to the Korean BBQ experience! They also had small cups of ice cream. Vanilla or chocolate, take your pick!
This place discriminates...... Very racists.....My African friend walks in ask for Table for 4 while we are outside and the asian lady said no tables available for 1.5 hours. could clearly see there were empty tables through the window... Seriously. Then our chinese friend goes in and ask for a table for 4 and she says their cleaning one for you. We get a table in 5 minutes. You guys are playing the wrong game....
For an all you can eat bbq, this is not bad. They have 1 hot food station and 1 raw meats station. In order to get your money’s worth, get all the meats like short ribs, beef flanks, marinated chicken and etc. For all you can bbq, you can’t expect everything to be great. The only gripe I have is the sauce and seasoning station, it is a mess. I wish they could put the sauces in a large sauce dispenser instead of bottles.
Picnic Garden has renovated from their previous location for the better! The place is huge! The food is great, and the people there are very nice and will help you with your food. The condiments area is a little all over the place, but it will suffice. Great food and great service!
One of our favorite Korean BBQ spot. They moved to this new location so the new place is bigger and newly renovated. They have great selections and price is fair. It’s not too pricey for what you’re getting. Plus it’s all you can eat so make sure you come hungry haha.Service has been great and they are usually very attentive in changing the grill and helping with the actual BBQ. Highly recommend them. One last thing, I would also be careful in not wearing your favorite dress because the smoke is pretty extensive and you will be smelling like korean bbq after haha.
I really love this place! First time coming here since the pandemic started and the only difference is instead of self serve buffet you tell the employee what you want at the buffet bar. Takes a little longer to get your food if its busy, but its not terrible. Very long wait on weekends to get a table so come early, but come hungry!
Be to a couple of these places now and I must say this one stands out among some of them. This place has a great selection of meats to choose from, also their prepared food is pretty tasty. The only complaint I have is the grill top could be a little bigger, but that is a nonsense complaint. I will definitely be back!!
Servers are pretty busy constantly but theyre awesome and pretty helpful when they stop by! Their food is so delicious and theres always something different and new to try! (My new favorite try is the thin beef brisket!)Dont get full on the sides because their meat selections are great!!
It was my first time eating Korean BBQ. Had a wonderful experience. You do not have to know how to cook the food to eat here. They usually go around checking on your food and making sure everything is ok. Large selection of meats and seafood. Price is a very reasonable. Time limit is 1.5 hrs but they do not rush you to get up and leave unless its busy. I highly recommend this place. Tables are usually big and can accommodate 6 ppl very easy.
Im only writing this review due to the fact this was our 2nd time trying to go to this restaurant. So as everyone knows that restaurants in nyc have a vaccine mandate that ends tomorrow. Ive been wanting to take my wife and family to this place for over a year now due to how much I loved this place before. First time we went there over a year ago they needed vaccine card. Ok we let it go have to respect the business. This time I called in trying to make a reservation of 4 and stating only 2 have vaccines. They said no problem we can come in and eat and they dont check vaccine cards. Something happened and the other 2 people couldnt show up so we decided to go alone. Just the 2 of us. We show up when they first opened and this was the second time Ive noticed that theyre selective with who they check for vaccine cards. They did not let us in even with negative tests and im like I asked you guys over the phone about it. So thank you guys for wasting our time traveling there. Another restaurant happily took us in. Do not lie to customers. We respect rules but dont say one thing and mean the other when we come in. I made sure to ask that very question multiple times before I came in. Tomorrow vaccine mandate will be gone and only due to the fact you guys treat customers like this is why I will eat elsewhere. I am not writing this because I do not agree with rules. I do. I dont agree with being lied to.P.S. they have been saying their credit card machine isnt working for God knows how long now. I think by now they could have got a new one.
Ive gone to picnic garden multiple times at the old location before it moved here. This place is much better than the old one. It is nicer, roomer and cleaner than the past restaurant.Their ribs are the best. It is seasoned so well and tasty. My recommendation for anyone is to eat the Ribs and Squid. Both products are fantastic.Although the price is a tad expensive, it is unlimited KBBQ.If i remember correctly, there was no ribs during lunch, it made the trip unworthy as the ribs are the important product of this store.
The food was ok for an all you can eat buffet. But I can not believe they do not provide garlic in a Korean BBQ. That’s really unheard of in any Korean restaurant! In addition the grill plate is really small. We have 6 people from two families and they refused to open another grill on the same table!!! Some of our guests had to wait to eat because the plate was so small and can not accommodate for 6 people! The manager’s attitude was so rude and bad! It was a terrible eating experience in Picnic Garden!
This is a cook by yourself Korean BBQ buffet. The service is really good. On the buffet they have variety of meats like beef short ribs, pork belly, pork skin, beef brisket and more. They also offer soups, seafood pancake, ice cream and more. The price is pretty reasonable for dinner during the weekdays it was only around $33 per person.
My significant other and I went to this location with a service dog with a vest on and were stopped by the waitress and told that we could not enter because they do not accept dogs inside. We informed her about the ADA policy and she left to get her manager/owner. The manager/owner of the establishment told us that we needed to have a card or ID because all my friends have a card or ID for the dog and that the dog was way too big, they are usually small dogs. We told them no such documentation exists and we only have a certificate from the training school that she went to, and any size dog can be a service dog. They continued to deny us entry despite them ever asking us what service the dog is trained to provide. I already filed a complaint with the DOJ for this blatant discrimination of someone with a disability and I hope that the employees attend mandatory service animal training so they know that what they did is unacceptable.
Poor service while using doordash to order food from this place.Menus WAS NOT CLEAR if the food is raw or not when ordering meat. NOTHING ON THIS MENU SAYS ANYTHING ABOUT THE MEATS BRING COOKED OR NOT. SHOULD MAKE CLEAR TO THE CUSTOMERS WHEN ORDERING MEAT. ONLY A SMALL SECTION IS HOT FOOD. NO POINT OF ORDERING THE FOOD IF I COULD DO THIS MYSELF AND COOK IT MYSELF. IF I KNEW THE FOOD WAS GOING THE BE RAW, I WOULDVE JUST BOUGHT THE FOOD MYSELF ON MY OWN TIME. WHY SHOULD I EVEN BOTHER!Update! The menu across all platforms used for delivering food. Cant expect someone to have access to a stove or grill to cook the food.
Great for meat lovers, variety of meat isnt the greatest, but enough to satisfy any meat craving individual. Have limited cooked foods selections, along with soup and rice. The booth seatings are awkward, very hard to get in and out to get food for large party. People seating on the outside needs to constantly move out for people sitting in the middle to come out to get food. Mini Herseys ice cream carton for dessert. Can get very crowded, come early. Street parking only, needs to park at residential area.
I loved it here, everything is perfectly seasoned, loved the experience of good atmosphere, friendly staff, very attentive, food was good! Shozu was awesome strawberry was my favorite didnt like the yogurt flavor shozu. It was amazing to watch the egg cook in the liquid fully separated & scrambled. Was a wonderful experience with the love of my life. I recommend this place if you want to impress that special person in your life, or to just have an amazing! dining experience
Absurd and pathetic how the lunch time finishes at 1 and after 1 pm it counts as dinner. Let me suggest you to do a correction, why don’t you call it breakfast fares instead of lunch fares ??????and like if it makes sense that I’m gonna have dinner at 1:00 pm come on That’s so irrational
Definitely one of the best Korean BBQ Ive visited in a long time. The atomosphere was great, extremely clean, service was great and pretty cheap in my opinion. This was one of the few places where they change the grill for you very often, every 10-15 min. There was a ready made food section so you dont have to wait for your cook your food, which was great only wish they had a larger selection. Few tables over from the ready made food section was all the meat you can take and cook at your table. Our only complain was the variety they definitely could have had a larger selection. With the selection they had we were limited to only beef because none of us eat pork. Our favorite was the steak and beef ribs. Word of advice stay away from the lamb, it had a weird taste to it definitely didnt enjoy it. Overall Id definitely recommend this place.... Dont forget to try their ice cream
The best Korean BBQ buffet Ive been to. There are many raw meat options that you can get like chicken, beef, pork, sausages, etc. In addition, there are also some already prepared foods that you can eat while your meat is cooking. They have noodles, sushi, dumplings, wings, kimchi and some other Korean classics. The parking can be a little difficult, but this restaurant is so worth it.
Great looking place with great atmosphere. The seats are arranged in chic square set up that allows for comfortable socializing even in large groups. The food is all you can eat and you are able to walk up and grab food as you please. There are also some pre cooked foods such as rice and chicken nuggets, though they leave a bit to be desired.
Not bad for an AYCE kbbq. Seems inconsistent sometimes where the food is either good or subpar. Some meats are even divided into this category. Service is normal though, and they will change your grill when it gets dirty. Gets you full because its AYCE and meat. They also have a wide variety of meat and sides, so itll probably leave you satisfied.
The best all you can eat Korean buffet you can ever eat. The meat is great quality unlike other korean bbqs and not just all you can eat. Its way above most places in comparison. They just built a new place which is super clean and very nice. The space is much more open and bright compared to their old facility as this was built to their needs vs the space they kept growing into. They have beer both American, Import (European and Korean), Soju, Makkuli, as well of course of sodas, juices, and other korean drinks. This is an absolute must eat. If you are especially hungry or with a big group the cost of eating here vs a regular korean bbq restaurant will be much cheaper.
Off the beaten path from the middle of Manhattan. This is a very popular Korean BBQ buffet place that all the in-the-know food enthusiasts flocks to. Not easy to get to if you dont have a car but definitely worth the drive. You get more than bang for the buck here. Make sure you come on empty stomach. Sometime there is an over one hour wait. Depending on when you get there and what for of the week you go. But still. Great serve staffs and incredible selection of very fresh food because they always sell out all the food everyday.
My family and I have been going here since I was about 6 or 7 years old (I’m 25 now) and it always was our favorite but I went recently and I’m so disappointed! Most of my favorite items were removed they used to have garlic string beans, sweet wings with chives, fried fish, fresh garlic, a lot of the desserts, more raw meats, etc. and yet the price stayed the same! They cut down on a lot of stuff I’m so sad! Also for some reason the raw meat doesn’t taste as marinated and I picked up a cut of steak that wasn’t marinated at all. The meat is and always was good quality and the place is very clean but nothing like it used to be. Overall it’s still good but definitely not worth the same price after all the items that were removed. I’m so sad that I might need to find a new place! Hopefully they can bring back more items!
This was one of my favorite spots because I could come with a group of people and on my own. Now they became like every other stupid place that either dont let people come by themselves just by adding a $25 table fee for coming by yourself?? Ridiculous. I sas coming here the August 14 with 10 people to celebrate my friends birthday and now unfortunately Ill take the business to somewhere in Manhattan. I use to come here regularly even tho I live in Manhattan and just wasted 45 minutes of my life coming here to be told I have to pay $25 for coming by myself.
First time here, and last time here. Not really a buffet, as the food can only be picked by the staff, instead of yourselves, which means the quality and quantity of what you get is not something you can determine. Besides that, the staffing around the food counter is far below how much I would call sufficient or flexible. Long lines of people were waiting. Meanwhile, social distancing is not enforced at all! In addition, this place has some obvious issues with their BBQ stove insulation below the table and exhaust system on the top. Ive rarely seen this same problem at other Korean BBQ places. While your legs are feeling the unpleasant consistent heat, you can easily observe Tyndall effects around their possibly too bright focused lights! More personally, I am not a fan of the music they played in the restaurant. The music is good music, but I suggest having that kind of music in a dance pool rather than a Korean BBQ buffet, or at least having the volume lower, so that I can hear my friends at the same table. Above is just a brief of what I experienced. I understand that the situation is different from usual, but this is crossing my borderline. Be wise with your hard-earned money!
Self-serve buffet is back! You should have a mask for the lobby and buffet area.Dont forget to wear clothes you dont care about because the KBBQ smell will stay with you when you leave.Make sure to check out the last buffet table, theres wings, crawfish, and clams.Looking to save money? Go Mon-Thu and pay in cash, but them know youre paying cash when they give you the bill.
Overall a great all you can eat experience! Definitely get the kalbi. Bulgogi was really good. The squid was great. There was a large assortment of sides and variety of meats and seafood to grill. The kimbap was good to snack on while waiting for the meat to grill.Great food and attentive staff. I highly recommend coming earlier because when we left there was a long line of people waiting.
First they dont follow covid protocol. They are not checking whos vaccinated or not. Second they variety of meat from pork, beef, lamb. However, only few options for seafoods. Not too much with dessert. The place is clean except for some plates that looks like that were not washed at all. Staffs are fine. I think the place is a little pricy compared to other buffet places that I went. Only street parking .
If you like all you can eat meat buffet this is the place! Service is friendly and they constantly check up on you to make sure the grill is replaced with a new one every so often. The variety of styles of meat available at your hands is pleasing. If you eat almost anything like me, pork, chicken, beef then you must go here. Been here multiple times and everything is consistent. You will not be disappointed, eat away!
This is an all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ location right on Northern Blvd. in Flushing, Queens. Since the restaurant is on a main street parking can be a bit of a challenge - either on Northern Blvd, which is not easy to come by, or on the residential side streets behind the restaurant, also not that easy to come by.The restaurant is clean and spacious with tall ceilings. Korean club-style music plays in the background which was fine but the volume was a bit loud for my taste. It made conversation somewhat challenging since we were seated under one of the speakers. Seating is in booths or long tables (for larger groups) with a grill located in the middle of the table. Ventilation is very good - an exhaust vent sits right above the grill to capture most of the smoke created from your grilling activities so you dont walk out of the restaurant smelling liked smoked meats (which is often the case at other Korean BBQ places). The food is buffet-style. Located at the rear is a hot/cooked area that has soups (miso, congee, seaweed), white rice, and precooked items such as wings, fries, boiled corn, and some other vegetables, etc. The raw buffet area contains the items you choose to bring back to your table to grill. The items there are your standard KBBQ items - short ribs, marinated beef, lamb, chicken (marinated and spicy), pork, squid, and prawns. Vegetables included green peppers, zucchini, and mushrooms. Of course, kimchi was available too, along with glass noodles though the tray they had out went cold when I got there (it was eventually replaced with a hot tray about 20 min. later). I shaved a star off my rating for the lack of a number of the traditional KBBQ side dishes that are traditionally served as well as one of the raw beef offerings looked to be a bit on the older side (the meat had both the pink/red hue you associate with freshness but many pieces had ends with a dark color to them, the color change that you see when you leave fresh meat in the refrigerator too long and it starts to age/darken). You are able to return to the buffet as often as you wish, which was frequent since the grill at the table is not really that large (portion control!). Dessert is lacking - you have a choice of small ice cream cups (chocolate or vanilla), orange slices, and what looked like an orange/pineapple mixture that may have come out of a can.Service was excellent - our server checked on her tables and both stirred and rearranged the items on the grill to ensure even cooking and to prevent burning and to also cut up the grilled items into single portion sized servings (the raw items can be quite large). She also changed the grill plates so that we had clean ones for each roundUnlike the experience of another reviewer I was able to charge both the meal as well as the tip to my credit card. Perhaps they changed their policy since that last review.Overall I liked Picnic Garden and would certainly return, esp. when you have a desire for protein overload.
Came here for indoor dining and it was an amazing experience. The only thing that’s changed is the employees serve you the meat/sides instead of you grabbing it yourself. The service was impeccable, within 1 hour our grill was changed 4 times and when we asked for more lettuce, it was there immediately. If you get there at 5-6pm, you won’t have to wait as long, especially on a Saturday
For the price, there isnt much of a selection. The hot food is just cheap and greasy while the better cuts of meat disappears as soon as a new batch comes out. If you came with the intention of eating expensive cuts, dont be surprised when you find yourself waiting some time to get it
It was ok...selection was spotty at times...service to clear off plates was bad...kept piling up the dishes w no takeaways for long periods of time..Def understaffed...which is why I rated as a 3...went for a Sunday noon lunch and it was full dinner pricing...selection could have been better. Service was sub par...at that price pt...I expected better
Wasnt the best Korean BBQ place in Queens and for the price they charge it was a bit of a let down. The real disappointment was dessert. .. a cheap frozen ice cream cup you can buy a bag of 12 for $3. But they had a decent variety of meat and sauces. I wouldnt go back. Much nicer places for the same price only a few blocks up.
Went for lunch, new price is $21pp for weekday. My husband does not eat pork (which there were many options of) but only 1 beef (bulgogi) and 3 chicken. Very surprised at the lack of options considering dinner offers so many more varieties. This was my first time eating out since the beginning of the pandemic and it felt fairly safe. Unless you were seated, you must have your mask on. A server will put your meats on a plate at the food station instead of you using the tongs yourself.
Never gonna dine in this place again. So many customers, not safe at all! Worst service, you have to wait in line to get food, the line is so long and there are only one or two people who can give you service. You can not serve yourselves!! The music is crazy loud as if you will be deaf if you stay there for more than half an hour, you can not hear your friends voice! All that I feel is that they do not want you stay there to have a good dinner time! The sanitary condition is very bad, heavy smell, bath room not clean at all. Worst experience of having BBQ. I don’t know why so many people go there since the price is not low. Horrible!!
The best BBQ place youll ever go to, not only is the staff attentive and ready to help, they are professionals that will make sure you have a pleasant time. The quality of the food was splendid and the grill was constantly changed to prevent the flavors from being lost.Highly recommend, you will leave not only full but extremely glad you came
Ill start with the best thing about this place: the price cannot be beat. All you can eat, including a hot food bar, with bottles of soju, and my friends and I paid about 60 dollars each.As for the food: its Korean BBQ, its either for you or its not. Expect to do a lot more work than at a normal restaurant, in slightly more crowded surroundings than a steakhouse. They have a decent variety of meat, so youll be able to expirement with what you like (I was partial to the la galbi). The sides are kind of limited to whatever is at the food bar, mostly rice and chicken wings and other basic stuff youd expect from a takeout Asian restaurant. The one downside: wear sweats or something that washes easily, because you will reek of grease after you leave. Its really bad. Be warned.
Apparently they are not much into kid customers. They rather have the other adult customers seating first. We went there with large group with kids, but they gave us 2 separate tables and signed the 2 long available tables for Reserved even though we booked a reservation at noon! By the time we paid and left, those 2 long tables were still empty. Greedy business practice will end up getting negative star and doom for failure!
Didnt get a full five because they dont have their own parking spot, which is fine- but parking can be difficult in that area. Otherwise the spot is pretty spacious and allows for large groups. They offer a variety of buffet options including cooked food and uncooked meat that you grill yourself with some help from the staff. Some of the options were amazing- the way they marinated the squid or the tangy-spicy sauce that we used to dip the chicken nuggets in had everyone wanting more. Overall one of the best Korean/Asian spots Ive been to. Love the twist of self-grill + buffet, definitely worth checking out for casual outings with friends, coworkers, etc.
Fastly seated with reservations. Womens bathroom is adequately clean but music in the bathroom is way too loud (like you are in a club volume) so its not hangover friendly. Food at the buffet is now being served by their staff as covid precautions. All selections are the same. They did not skimp and cut down on selections due to covid like some other restaurants.
👎📢EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW THAT IF YOU ARE ALONE ((JUST YOU HAVING LUNCH. THEY WILL CHARGE YOU $10.00 EXTRA, THEY DONT ADVERTISE THIS))👍Service is good👍Place looks clean👍All you can eat is $21.00 for lunch group of 2 or more 👎👎👎$21.00 if is more than one person eating with you. ((One person is $31.00 for lunch)).
The bulgogi meat is so tender & tasty! $35/person for all you can eat is a great deal when the meat is so good. Wish they had more hot food & dessert options available-if they did theyd get 5 stars. All the servers there are wonderfully polite & helpful. Sadly, they dont have birthday cakes, but they were willing to have the servers come to my table & sing happy birthday to my father. They gave me a candle to put in their little ice creams & they lit it for me.I love this place! I come here for dinner often.
Amazing selection of meats and cooked food/sides. The place is pretty big but there was a crowd as we left around 830pm. The servers would come around and help cook the meat but you were mostly left to cook it on your own, which is great. The price is great considering all the food they offer.
This was great. We came with family and each of us must have gotten 3-4 plates of meet. It satisfied our craving quite a bit. We did the dinner, which I think has more meat and seafood selections than a normal lunch. We also only had the meat / seafood and didn’t try anything else such as the egg.
Worst place I ever been to the food was not that great I tried eating because I was already there and hungry and unfortunately with horrible luck I found hair in my food not once not twice but 3-4 times and all they did was take the food say okay and act like it was nothing. After that I could not bare no more and when I received the bill they disknowledge anything about the hair in the food and only wanted to take off 2% of the bill when I told them about it. Never again will I come to this place or recommend it to NO ONE, very unprofessional. If you want to risk going just beware and check your food before eating.
I dont know how to describe my experience here with my family.First, the quality of the food was just so so.Second, not too much choices. Especially when you have toddler. The porridge was so runny. My daughter didnt want to eat anything, just a few fries.Third, it wasnt like what I expected for the price $35 per person. Just unsatisfied. The good thing about this place is the staff was so nice. I mean cause we have two toddlers messed up and she still have a good attitude, she deserved 20% tips.
This place is so good!!! The staff is very friendly and the food is delicious. I definitely recommend it. In order to get in you need to use the elevator. The only reason why I’m giving it a star off is because of price. The meal is a bit pricey. However, I recommend getting the combo that comes with everything it is around $100 and you get a lot of meat ,side dishes, lettuce to wrap the meat in, and a soup to share. I definitely recommend this place for couples that want to try something new. It’s fun and different. Also, because of the location it is in you get to experience Koreatown and walk around.
Simple and quick! Clean layout and attentive staff. The beef and the pork are so tender since that marinate was worked properly. I will definitely bring another group again. I was in a group of eleven and they were able to accommodate us with no problems. I like to describe it as “happy full.”
Awesome. Staff helped my friends and I who werent familiar with typical Korean BBQ fare. They were quick and prompt as well. Food was delicious and well prepared/marinated. My friends took a long time to leave after paying but the staff didnt try to rush them. I really liked the service , Ill be back.
Excellent restaurant to go with friends and family. Nice price for all you can eat, if you like to eat Korean BBQ, this place will make you go again!Their meat is marinated very well, fresh cuts, ice cream is included in the price.I definitely love this place.Because its a good place, sometimes have to wait like 30min to get a table. But, worth it!
This is a unique dining experience. You take vegetables and raw meats from the buffet bar, and grill them at your table . Star deducted from last visit. Most items at the buffet table are NOT labeled, and the items that are labeled are incorrect🤨. The quality of some of the meats were so so. Dessert choices: a cup of vanilla ice cream or orange sorbet, or fruit. thats all , nothing else. The price for dinner is $35 per Adult...totally NOT worth it.Also card machine was broken on the day of my visit. Cash only;P touch noted on the check binder : cash only for tips ....( this is to avoid having to declare tips on their tax return). Theres no other reason.Go there for the dining experience, but dont go out of your way to get there.
Love eating here, always fulling. Food is great as usual. Miss their old place though, this is more commercial I would say. I didnt give out a five star because of the pricing, it seems pricey now even on a weekday. Anyways , would recommend this if you are hungry and could eat.
The place was clean and the staff was on top of keeping our Grill clean. I thought would have more of a seafood selection but their selection was great. They had both already cooked and raw foods for you to prepare at your table. It was a first-time experience for myself but I would definitely do it again. At approximately $32 per plate for a 90 minute sit down its a little expensive but you do get good food. Parking is a little bit of a chore. You may have to park a block or so away if youre going during lunch or dinner times.
This used to be my favorite place for eating Korean BBQ, but since they change the policy that if you go alone you have to pay $25 extra, then I don’t wanna go there anymore. Food is good tho, but their service is horrible!!!!! Really really bad, they don’t pay attention to you at all. And most of them are very rude. I would not going back to there anymore and wouldn’t recommend to people who prefer one person meal. If you like good service with good food, well this is not the place!!!
The only downside of this place is the price. Do you think you can eat $50 (after tax and gratuity and excluding drinks) of meat? I love the food here. The service is sometimes good, sometimes bad. When it was bad, usually the server will apologize and explain that they are understaffed. This place usually gets a lot of business so they should know they need more servers. To reiterate the problem, I never feel like I get my moneys worth when I leave this restaurant. Ive had less food that cost more at other restaurants and felt that it was worth every penny. Here, I dont feel the same.
I went to a k-bbq restaurant a few days ago for a friends birthday party. It was fantastic and received the best service. It can bring my favorite meat and cook it at the table. The waiter named jay was really friendly. He pointed out what I hadnt brought to the plate and told me how to eat. With his help me and my friends ate deliciously. I wish to go there again with other friends and would like to meet him again.
Great place for Korean BBQ. Loved it. There are also cooked dishes to choose from. They also come and change the grill plate when they see that its dirty which is good. This will not contaminate your meat, meaning you will not get any burnt taste in your food unless you burn it.Would love to come back here.
The food tastes pretty good, but I feel as if the heat source at the bottom was pretty dangerous. Also if ur tall (like me ) its very uncomfortable to sit. Also they replace the grills but when they did the 4th grill replacement it was kind of dirty. The food is good but there are some hazards with the restaurant itself that drops the experience. And be aware that if you dont clear your plate then you will receive a $20 fee for each person in your party.
Been here twice. First time service was lacking but food was ok for the price so decided to go one more time.Second time I went the ceiling began to leak over the food, and they stayed open.Literally water was falling and splashing into the food. Automatically they should of closed but they stayed open. Which got me to researching their health violations. Not sure why people give them 5 stars, guess they don’t care about sanitation or their health...

2021-12-21If you are up for a bountiful meal better this is the place to go. Love the freshness of the raw food choices and how they marinate some to taste mouth watering. You need to be creative on how you choose your sauce for dipping and mix your vegetables to create a tastier lettuce wrap. They have soup options and cooked food too with drinks and fruit or ice cream desserts. They have plenty of seats for small group to big.Staff are fast and attends to their customers. You will need to book your table before coming in.Will definitely recommend! $$

2021-09-08A really good dining experience for Korean BBQ in Flushing! Plenty of meat, veggies, sides, and sauce. The staff is very attentive too, changing out the grill every 15 minutes or so. We also got a great supply of lettuce to wrap the meat in.However, I wish they had a larger selection of beef. They had short rib, bulgogi, flank, and brisket, but what would have made the pricing more worth it is if they had a nicer cut of steak. Their pork and chicken selection was massive, but were not there for chicken! They were also missing some items, like garlic. But overall, the meat quality was good and for an all you can eat, it was very good!

2022-02-14Above average Korean AYCE BBQ with large selection of well marinated meats and beers. Definitely one of the better BBQ in Flushing area to get your meat sweat on without breaking the bank.Very popular with the locals and often crowded.

2021-12-31Ive been here a couple of times now but yea i just want to address a few things.1. Some of the raw food to be cooked does not look fresh or presentable.2. Japchae was not fresh too. it was just on top of the RAW meat. mind you it was cooked already.3. very limited options on the things u can cook. And the price is not worth it.So far those are the reason why.

2022-07-07I had a terrible experience at Picnic Garden today. The staff was not welcoming and asked what deal me and a guest wanted today. When I mentioned that I was only interested in the $22 all you eat pork and chicken deal their attitude totally changed. When we went to get our meat to grill we were being watched like hawks which made me feel so uncomfortable. There was also a section that had food that was already prepared and included fries, chicken, fried squid, glass noodle, seafood pancake, etc. The seafood pancake was not available often.Waiters helped to grill the food but after a certain point would not let us get more food otherwise they claimed they would begin charging extra (despite this place being a buffet). This made me feel even more uncomfortable and started making me not want to stay. We continued to eat and around one hour into eating the same waiter, as seen in the picture, came to give us our bill even though we werent done eating! We were totally being rushed and discouraged from enjoying our meal. I would definitely not want to return to this place given how unwelcome the staff made me feel. If I could I would give this place 0 stars. The food wasnt even good. You might as well travel a little farther in search for a better buffet.

2021-12-24Before you go, there are few things to know. Their LUNCH HOURS are 12-2 pm. They take their LAST lunch customer at 1 pm. This wasnt clear on the website (outdated) so I had to call few times to confirm this. Their food was alright. The only reason I came here was that its self-serve, meaning I can control the portion I bring and I can cook my own food (the servers do come by to cook, but not all the time). This restaurant has the potential to be much better restaurant if they improve on their management and communication.
