Ive lived in the city for 4yrs now & this is still my undisputed favorite place to go & enjoy the architectural genius that permeates this area with perfection... The swings gives you your own live cinematic view of the Manhattan & Brooklyn Bridge. My Fortress Of Solitude for sure!
I mean what more could you want with a spot like this?Hands down an absolute must at sunset. The skyline sings sweetly.Once the sun goes down, the buildings glitter. The city comes alive. There is an incredible amount of human consciousness flow. This pier is in the heart of the best harbor views, in my personal opinion that is. The vistas over the East River and then BOTH the Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn Skylines are insanely surreal, especially at night. There’s outdoor workout equipment, plenty of room to jog and bike, and some really gorgeous architectural design going on here. They have bench swings, surfaces to sit on, and surfaces to eat at. There’s also a variety of spatial design elements to keep ya occupied and coming back.
The views ! And the swings are fun ! Its a cute little date spot too, you can come out here with anyone actually and just talk. The views create good vibes and its a serene perspective of the hustle and bustle that goes on 24/7 in NYC. Bring some food or snacks if you want and just sit back and soak in place.
NYC is just beautiful has so much to see and so much to do and definitely a lot of places to eat haha. It’s turning into every Sunday trip that we are venturing out to explore our own hometown. This weekend we went by pier 35/36, they have built these metallic swings where you can sit relax and overlooking the beautiful waterfront and the iconic bridge, I can just imagine the view during the sunset must be priceless.
This is a great spot to come and relax in the city. It is not easy to get to, and you have to be willing to put up with a bit of noise from the freeway, but you quickly forget about all of that once you settle in to a swing and enjoy the view. The parks department did an amazing job in re-purposing this old pier for everyone to enjoy. There is grass, plenty of seating, and a gentle vibe that lets you enjoy the city scenery while being removed from the crowds. We came early in the morning to watch the sunrise and enjoyed it.
I mean it’s a cool spot and all having the Manhattan bridge and Brooklyn bridge as your backdrop. but it seems a little sketchy area. Idk. I’m not really around this area often to make conclusions but that’s just how the vibe was when I was there. So definitely only go here during day time.
(27th October, 2019)It started raining heavily when we reach the Pier, the wind was so cyclonic it blew my umbrella metres away 😂 but the stretch till the pier is very nice from the clean roads, sideway small open gymnasium to the swing there at Pier, one can enjoy the great view of this popular place of sky scrapers, over bridge and yatches passing by (face of New York City from many movies and posters) just by sitting there watching beautiful people jogging and walking of various age groups.
Beautiful place for lovers to enjoy N.Y.city night life. I went there few days ago, a music band were playing , I had a great experience. They have swings that people can sit on, beside a stage and stairs too. You will love the view of the light of both bridges Manhattan and the Brooklyn. I highly recommend to see it specially at night.
The immersion experience is amazing, its worth the trip here. The area is a bit busy with traffic and an on ramp to the FDR right next to it. If you take the FDR exit 3 is the best exit. However parking is extremely limited here so plan ahead or give yourself extra time to find parking. Your best bet is a car service.
This unfinished pier is about 75% completed and Im waiting for construction to be finished to put in my final review. So far, it has a panoramic view of the two bridges and its a very tranquil area, surprisingly being close to the roadway and highway. Plenty of seating & on warmer conditions, youll be able to cool off near the river.
It was relaxing until it wasnt. unfortunately the peace went out the door when i guess the neighborhood people came and started smoking marijuana in front & side by side of the elderly and young kids as well. also there were some young kids that were bothering an asian elderly man with his puppy. the puppy wasnt comfortable when ever it saw any type of bikes which made it bark a lot. so one of the little boys started hitting the puppy in the mouth while his owner had it on his lap. eventually they left the puppy alone and left the area. definitely bring clorox wipes to clean the benches seats and tables. because they are filthy sticky and have bird poop all over them.
The now finished pier offers panoramic views of the two bridges, the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges x plus the Brooklyn waterfront. Youll find solice knowing that its kept clean and has plenty of space to move around. If its too crowded for your taste, then go around to the back of the pier for a peaceful view.
I went there during sightseeing at Monday afternoon and local kids were occupating all the swings making some crazy noise and they never move out though we asked them to because we wanted to take phoros. I am so disappointed this place is no longer place for enjoying the view having conversion with my company.

2022-06-21A peaceful escape from the city life. The beautiful view of the water, either ferries traveling back brings along the river. There is so many options for seating, but the best view is from the swings, at sunset, when the city lights are on, and you can see the orange and purple sky.

2022-05-27If you want a perfect picture of the Brooklyn Bridge this is the place to go for the pic. There are also some heavy duty swings to use while you admire the beauty of it. My wife and I tried the little outdoor gym they had and it was pretty decent I would recommend this stop for anyone e wanting to take great pics and enjoy.

2021-10-23An amazing spot to watch the sunset with views of the Manhattan skyline from Manhattan. There are also cute giant swings but since no one is patrolling the crowd people will camp out forever. I was watching the sunset for over an hour and was never able to get on any since the groups on each swing never left. Some people asked them nicely for a turn but they never moved. So come for the views but dont expect to enjoy the swings.
