Great pier to visit when social distancing isnt in motion. Plenty of green grass to lay out on. Kayak and stand up paddle board rental next door. As well as circlen cruise lines and the intrepid. A full days worth of things to do all in just a few feet from one another. Highly recommend
This is a wonderful place to visit. The greenway is great for jogging, cycling or going for a walk. The pier has a beautiful green space which is nice for the summer. There are benches, restrooms, and a shop to rent bicycles and the circle line. As you can see I take advantage of this beautiful area to do yoga amongst other fitness routines. Its very family oriented and clean. Theres also a huge dog run for my fur baby!
Howdy all.I recently moved to the neighborhood. At my immediate disposal is this beautiful park. I live on 52nd street and ninth Ave.You can see me several times a week walking from where I live down Hudson Park to Christopher Street!I love cardio and walking.Hudson River park is beautiful.Cant wait for the spring and do some real walking. I must add that the staff who keep the grounds, the gentlemen working on Little Island are all so polite. Good morning greetings and lots of smiles through our masks.Very beautiful walk and views.Thank you NYC for being so FIERCE!
Went to the park for my nephews birthday. We bought food & grabbed a table to eat. Everything was going great until I had to use the restroom. I looked at the time while walking over & it was 7:50 pm. There were two gentleman who were reminding the maintenance guy that the restrooms dont close until 8 pm. The mens room door was closed but the womens restroom door was open & the maintenance man made sure to rudely tell me that the restrooms were closed. He had his mop & bucket in tow & had commenced to mop the bathroom & remind me, ever so rudely that the restrooms were closed. He was moving like he was in a rush & didnt care who had to use it! Evidently, this guy didnt care that I really needed to use it & denied me & the two gentleman, admission to the restroom. Ive never experienced anything like this before & was taken aback. Unfortunately, I had to go across West Side Highway & use the mini storage facilitys restroom. So whatever you do, please make sure to enter the restroom by 7:45 pm because you will be denied entry. At this time, Im filing a formal complaint because Id really hate for another young lady to experience his total rudeness & unprofessionalism.
Situated between the Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum and the Circle Line, Pier 84 stretches almost 1,000 feet into the river and measures nearly 100,000 square feet, making it one of the largest piers on the Manhattan waterfront.Pier 84’s most distinctive feature is an interactive fountain that greets visitors and entices children and even some adults to get wet in fine weather. Enjoy the fountain while dining at Hook’d or renting a bike at Bike rental nyc.Walk west and you’ll find a dog run, Manhattan kayak and an environmental classroom. Relax on the gently sloping lawn that accommodates picnics and sunbathing.Manhattan kayak offers kayak and paddleboard adventures, lessons, rentals and group outings on Pier 84.
Beautiful and not overly crowded - this park was maybe 90% empty when we came walking down after dinner on a Friday night. Incredibly relaxing, it felt like we had left the city. Fun to see the side of the Intrepid on one side and a different part of the NYC skyline. The ships nearby will give a fun toot. There were a couple of people picnicking on the grass, and there are lots of benches along the park as well as near the water. Lovely find.
What a place! Awesome place to see a concert, or an event. There is often, in the summer especially, so much going on here. It has been the place, for years, where the Run 10 Feed 10 race started and finished--and that was a great event. Im not sure if that is over for good (???), I sure hope not. This is a wonderful place--right along the Hudson River bike path--to pull over, find some shade, and share a meal.
A great place, they have food, playgrounds for children, a dog run, fountains, views, and other good stuff.HUGE cruise ships go by on occasion, you dont realize how long 1,000 feet of ship is until you see one up close like that. You can see the intricate ballet when the tugs are working in concert to get the ship docked and hear the sounds of foghorns and horns and whistles from ships and boats. And theres convenient aircraft carrier right next door, right next to the SST on the other side and the carrier has a space shuttle on deck along with a good assortment of military planes. Interesting stuff for avaition buffs and kids, old and small.Part of the Riverside Park, in total a wonderful place in the big city. If you have a good imagination you can hear traffic noise as the gentle sound of waves.
The boat ride, Circle Line, was quite enjoyable. The master of ceremonies (tour quide) was extremely knowledgeable about the historical sites and gave clear explanation of what sites we past in the river. All I was missing was Debby Harry to sing her song on board about the Circle Line. Cool place to enjoy your leisure and vacation time.
Great place to walk around and take in the sights, along the Hudson River. Family and pet-friendly. Lots to do from kayaking, biking, cruises on the Circle Line, visiting the Intrepid, or take in one of the many free music performances sponsored by the Hudson River Park Trust
Wow. Great views. Easy to see right off of 12th Street in Manhattan. Parking on the street is available but it fills up fast especially on the weekends and at night. There are parking lots very close. Great for families. Public Restrooms. Food stand also. We will definitely be going back.
I spend a lot of time here, heck I watched the modern pier being built—before it I watched drug deals going down and hookers being dropped off and picked up at the stub that used to be here. Today I paddle out of MKC inside the boathouse, a great facility. The only reason the Pier is not receiving 5 stars is because of its high level management. What do I mean by this? The Trust regularly rents out the pier to largely non-local groups and organizations to make up for budget shortfalls with no notification to those that regularly use the pier. Often security people working for these groups are oblivious to the fact that many of us pay to belong to the company in the boathouse and try to prevent our entry. Aspects of maintenance and and repair are often taken care of only after months or years of dithering, bureaucratic delay and who knows what else. Despite all this it is a wonderful place.

2022-03-16Nice place to relax and enjoy nicer weather with great backdrops of the USS Intrepid and the Hudson. Also has a dog park, boathouse, seafood restaurant, and sprinklers (during warmer weather). It is easily accessible by nearby M42 and M50 busses, and is steps away attractions (Circle Line Tours and the Intrepid Air & Space Museum).

2022-02-11Nice pier. The food court was closed as it was winter when I visited. Chairs to sit and watch sunset. Nearby is the tour boats and the intrepid museum.

2021-04-29Lived in midtown west most of my life and this is my go to spot for quiet. Love it here weather its sunny, cloudy, drizzly, flurries and especially in a BLIZZARD!If you have a four legged friend, be sure to pick up after them too!! The one downfall of this park is reckless dog owners that dont help keep the grass clear for us all to enjoy.

2020-12-06Love the view of the nearby intrepid. Also a much needed bathroom stop if you’re on a run/walk/bike ride along riverside. Dog park nearby and beautiful river views. Truly nothing to complain about, enjoy some photos I added.

2021-04-27Wonderful and quiet park with a good view of the Hudson. There’s also a small dog park that usually have a few pups running around who are a joy to watch. If you want to get away from the high foot traffic that you see in Central Park, this is a great option place for you!

2020-12-15Beautiful, easy escape from the canyons of buildings in midtown Manhattan. A few blocks west to the West Side Highway and suddenly air...open space, water, the Hudson River, views of Jersey and even, looking back, views of midtown’s skyline with a a little distance. Biking, walking, couples taking disco dancing lessons on summer evenings, a good dog park, a big water feature for kids to run through in hot summer days.

2018-09-09I always have a nice time at Pier 84. The last time I was there I got to listen to some jazz from 7 - 9 p.m. You can bring your own chairs if you want to pick a spot on the grass or under the trees. There are plenty of benches even tables to sit and eat near the water. It’s a beautiful view at night and a nice place for a small romantic picnic. There are restrooms but it seems like after 9 p.m. they start to close the closer bathrooms. I believe near the Skyline there’s a 🚽. You might even hear music at times because of the boats that come and go. The only reason I gave it 3 Stars is because of the restroom situation.
