I just needed a bit of exercise so I biked down to 70th street and stopped at the pier. WiFi gave me the chance for a relaxed Whatsapp call with a friend in Norway. Enjoyed a nice beer by the water while I cooled down. Great place for a break.
Amazing!! Our son 4 and half-year-old son made a new friend at the old train train parked in the park. We all loved our time there.

Ive visited this pier many times, whether running, on my long board with Kahuna stick, bicycle or my favorite mode of transportation: by paddle board. It is an interesting space and one much loved, especially by locals in the hi-rises above. There is also no shortage of events held there. Just this past weekend my dog and I happened upon the MamaPaLooza concert (see photos). I highly recommend. And any new visitor should really take a look at the railroad gantry, the freight locomotive and the carved stones identifying the many rail lines that served Manhattan, coming in on the float barges that utilized the gantry.

A good spot but getting a bit too popular. Food is fairly solid, but the drinks are expensive, especially considering no table service. I do appreciate being able to order from your table via QR code scan. Saves time.
Its a public pier with a nice panoramic view of all of the west side and downtown manhattan. There is a great outdoors restaurant there, but only during the summer and fall months. Pier I cafe. Great veggie burger.

Good food, good view, not terribly expensive for NYC. I spend every birthday with close work friends here, and especially during the pandemic, its a breath of fresh clean outdoor air. Also not a bad selection of drinks! Family friendly, and very fast counter service. A mainstay of UWS NYC day or night. Many find memories here. Btw, its actually Pier i but lets not quibble!
It was march 2013 when i visited this place! i was my last night in new york i was amazed by sunset view i made a wish at that moment which is that i could return back with my family as a tourist to show me this beauty in personi liked new york city and its tremendous energy and may good people i met therethanks

Nice enough stopping point on a run/walk along the Hudson path. Theres a seemingly popular restaurant where the Pier begins. There are metal chairs facing the water, around the perimeter. Nice views of a few NJ towns😎, the GWB in the distance,, Riverside Dr bldgs, etc.. No activities or grassy areas like other piers have and no water fountain
Great place to enjoy the waterside fews of the Hudson River in Manhattan. One of the beautiful spots that are dotting the coastline of the ever expanding Riverside Park . Great for NYC sunsets . A cool breeze and a cool drink makes for a cool place to stop by!😎

The Hudson River pathway is an amazing adventure... We like to walk from the cherry walk to pier I every week in the evening and stand at this pier for a lovely sunset. This pier is worth a visit and is one of the coveted spots of mine. For people who think NYC is a jungle of buildings and concrete, it will be refreshing to visit the pier to enjoy the tranquility of Hudson and an amazing view of the uptown.
A nice pier with good city views along the Hudson River. Lots of folks fishing out here. Theres a cafe opposite of the pier, alcohol available. Plenty of seating. Clean bathrooms located nearby as well underneath the highway. Great stop for cyclists along the greenway.

2021-09-13The pier goes well out into the water and there are many chairs near the shores part of the pier... Also there are chairs and benches all around the pier as well as all the chairs over at the Pier 1 Cafe. People meet on the pier while I was there there was a group of urban Skechers and some dancers who were doing some practicing. A bottle of water was $2 at the Pier 1 Cafe - - pretty reasonable for New York City! There are also some decaying remains of the old industrial activity near the pier that are pretty interesting for photography.

2021-10-18Delicious food, way above average. And a healthy mix, some items cooked to order. the real benefit of this place is the fact that youre sitting outside along the water. They have a well curated but limited selection of beer on top and wine by the glass.

2022-05-12The Pier is a great spot in the upper west side, super unique now that boat basin has closed. Right on the Hudson, have great views and a relaxing setup as a pickup at the window type joint and all outside aeating with almost all seats having an umbrella for the sun. Wide selection of food and alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. Highly recommend the burger and old bay fries, but most everything on the menu is great - they have beer, wine, frozen drinks and plenty of tables setup. Just a great place to hang out on an afternoon or weekend - especially great in the spring and fall. If you have kids, there is a big field right next to it where the kids can run and around and play while the adults can relax haha.

2021-06-17Great location to get a riverside selfie or group photo that is conveniently located along the bike path as well. The cute restaurant was still observing social distancing requirements and therefore they were using a loudspeaker to announce people’s orders were up. While slightly annoying, it’s not the norm so still deserves 5 stars. I’ve always felt safe here whenever I come by and they are doing new construction all nearby so it’s only getting better. Make sure you do take care and pay attention to the weather. Just after I snapped this photo I stopped under the West Side Highway that runs over the bike trail (side note: surprised it was so quiet under there) as it started to rain and so I could pack my camera. Within seconds a bolt of lightning struck 100 yards out from the end of the pier sending those remaining out there running for their lives. There is no protective shelter out on the pier so err on the side of caution when it comes to Thunderstorms!

2019-03-05This pier sticks out so far into the Hudson River that you feel like youre halfway to New Jersey. There is a fantastic view of the George Washington Bridge looking north, and the skyline of New York City looking south. This is a nice, new pier with lots of seats and indirect lighting. It is not a pier for boats; it is a pier for walking, running and gathering. There are lots of special events held here in the warmer months, and there is a very nice burger restaurant — Pier 1 Cafe —at the base of the pier.

2019-03-15Great view and nice breeze. Good place to enjoy warm weather during the day or night. There is a cafeteria style food place that completes the relaxing days of Spring/ Summer/ Fall. It’s right off the bike path. Bikers, dog walkers, local residents, and sometimes their guests are the usual crowd.
