Poor maintenance. They are lucky that building inspector lets them get away with electrical code violations.

I was offered a job here in Rochester and had to secure a place to live quickly and inexpensively. I saw one of the One Bedroom apartments online and reached out to the office and spoke with Alayne. Throughout the course of the next 2 days, Alayne went out of her way to assist me in a ton of ways. She showed the apartment to a friend of mine who was local, as I was 3 hours away and had an oncoming snowstorm. She coordinated working on the application process online to make sure I got the property at the price that I had seen, and really went beyond to make it seamless. I was sure Id never get the unit, but she really seemed to be more than just a leasing consultant and was acting simultaneously in both her company and my best interests.Once I was able to get to Rochester to see the apartment, she was accommodating and kind, took the time to go over every single page of the lease, and addressed my concerns over the fact that there wasnt a door separating the livingroom from the bedroom area. She completely outdid herself working very hard to make sure that a door was supplied, and kept me informed of everything regarding it during every step of the process.Ive worked in Management for a decade, and know the difference between someone doing their job, and someone who goes out of their way to do the best they can. Alayne is an incredible employee and deserves nothing but praise for the work, dedication, and kindness that she puts forth on a consistent basis. Also, the apartments are clean, spacious, and generally quiet, especially during quiet hours. The location is outstanding, right between Pittsford Plaza and the proper town of Pittsford. Walking distance to the Erie Canal and other trails. Fantastic and overly fair prices.Do not miss out on this place. You cant do better!

Good Location and affordable rent, but loud appliances (fans, ac, refrigerator), rodent problem, etc. Living conditions totally depend on who your neighbors are. If you want to smoke joint, ask where people are smoking weed crazy. The management seems to encourage them to smoke in their apartments. More people are smoking joint. Just stand in the back of the building, this is a heaven for those who smoke weed!

Thanks for the offer. I have multiple times with different issues and absolutely no help. Everything from the smell of weed, cars blocking carports, to snow and ice removal. Always the same we are working on it. Never anything done. Previous maintenance guy Dave was great.Update: new management same old employees. Car parked in the fire lane last night and blocked the access to my carport (that Im charged for). I was unable to park there, so I parked in the only spot available the office spot. This morning I had a sign on my window saying my car would be towed. But the car still parked in the fire lane was fine. Great job guys!

TL;DR: Outstanding location; awful maintenance. The location is fantastic—walking distance from grocery stores, restaurants, a movie theater, and more. The apartment itself is also pretty nice for one person—big enough to not be short on space, but small enough to not be a pain to clean, soft carpeting in the living room and bedroom, and a decent kitchen. It is fine as long as you are fine with being responsible for 100% of the apartment maintenance, as maintenance requests take ages to get resolved. The apartment was dirty to begin with when I moved in—nearly every surface was dusty, and there was so much dirt around the edges of the windows they could barely slide. The windows also had multiple broken blinds. Whoever last painted the apartment did the messiest job I have ever seen, with paint drops stuck in the carpet and door locks stuck with dried paint. After I moved in, I discovered multiple issues with the bathroom plumbing, and it took weeks of e-mails and phone calls to get it in a usable state. As of writing this review, the water temperature can still be a little bit unpredictable, but it is a vast improvement over the stuck knobs and leaks I dealt with during my first couple months. The bathroom also has no fan, meaning the humidity from taking showers (and water from plumbing leaks) stays in the bathroom more, which contributes to mold. No fan also means when you are scrubbing that mold, you choose between opening the window to the freezing Rochester winter air, or breathing in bleach fumes. The heat was also broken when I initially moved in (another reviewer apparently had a similar issue); thankfully, that got fixed before winter really hit.The refrigerator has the minor inconvenience of having drawers that do not fit and the more major problem of a seal that peels off the door—I gave up on maintenance and glued that myself. Some other reviews mentioned the complaints about the laundry situation, and I can confirm—there is only one washer and one dryer per building, and they are located in the basement of each building. The washer often leaks, forming an inconvenient pool in the middle of the floor. When the machines break, you just have to find somewhere else to do laundry because it might be a whlie before they get fixed (as of writing this, the washer in my building has been broken for over a month).

Not even the prime location of Pittsford Garden could save it from itself. The management was horrible. It took four months to get me a log in for my online portal account. It wold take anywhere from 3-4 calls to ever get through to an actually staff member there and my voicemails were NEVER returned. The application process itself gave me the first red flags as it was extremely disorganized. The apartment itself was not bad... except my front door which was warped and would get stuck constantly, was told a work order was placed before we moved in but was never fixed. The hallways constantly smelled of weed, there was dog poop everywhere, neighbors were obnoxiously loud in the other buildings and courtyard, my car port (which I paid for) was blocked by cars in the fire lane 80% of the time (so I could not get in or out) and nothing was done. When compants were made usually in voicemail or in person I was told they would look into it. When our apartment was flooded by our upstairs neighbors we called the emergency line and once the maintenance guy arrived we were told to use our towels to clean it up since it was slowing down and when our toilet was broken (continuously flushing) we were told just turn off and on the water. This apartment is not worth the cost nor the location. My roommate and I could not wait for our lease here to end. We scheduled a move out appointment for day after the lease ended which was not told to staff so while we were grabbing last of our stuff people just walked in. And to finish off after having been moved out for over 2 months I have not received my security deposit back and have been routed through multiple people all telling me contradictory stories. I have given them not only the written change of address but told them on the phone 4 times. Would not move here again or allow any friends to move in.

I found this apartment online. I needed the apartment for my daughter who is going to school nearby. The property manager was extremely helpful in helping us with the apartment. If we have any problems, they care of them very quickly. I would rate this property 10 out of 10. It’s very clean and well cared for.

I recently moved into an one bedroom apartment at Pittsford Gardens. I had not lived in an apartment for the past 20 years so was very apprehensive about it. I was surprised how private and quiet the place is. The grounds are well kept and the staff in the leasing office are friendly and very helpful It is in a central location, close to the village and Pittsford Plaza. I highly recommend this place

When looking for an apartment for my son it was very important to have one in a nice area and well taken care of. We were driving by and stopped in and it was exactly what we were looking for. The Property Manager was great to work with and very accomodating for move in and move out dates for my some as he was attending school. We will definitely return as we send another off to college and would recommend others!! Thank you!!!

Location and pricing are good, but this lease has been hell so far. Took away their carports after the poorly constructed old ones collapsed, and have been doing long bouts of construction since. Had to park on the lawn on the other side of the building for weeks. They also just cut down all the trees on the property, its just ugly now. Bait and switch trash.
