Place was pretty packed Thursday night around 7pm. Honestly, wings are greattttttttttttt! I like to ask for the sauce on the side so I can enjoy these wings with different dipping sauces. They have a great selection of beers on tap (founders all day ipa is my favorite) and staff is very friendly and fast. I will come back again with some friends.
Simply a Must to add to your pub crawl in New York city, Very friendly staff, and the best food bar none. We had the Steak sandwich, 3 layers of steak, cooked to your preference, melted cheese, and some sort of house sauce with a portion of Fries, Just Mouth watering and Full of taste, all washed down with an Ice Cold Miller Lite, Gorgeous. The pics you see were the next days lite bit sliders, a small snack not long after breakfast. So Treat yourself and visit PJCs for a great experience, Hey dont take my word for it, Go find out for yourself. Colin and Nicola, BELFAST.xx
Heres the deal with PJ Carney’s Pub - it is small and cozy and super friendly and it has nice pub food and good beer and drinks and tons of regulars. Id argue THE WINGS (shown in picture) with sauce on side are worth the visit alone. When you need a beer or just a place to space out or get a decent fish and chips PJs is the place. Also soccer on the TVs awwww yeah. Zero strikes against this place. Its not fine dining but its perfect at what it is.
Food here was incredibly delicious and calling the prices reasonable might be an understatement. Considering the location and the quality of the food, this may be one of the best deals in NYC. Lots of similar Irish pubs will charge way more than this place. Will definitely go back.
My husband and I discovered this place by accident on our way to the train after dinner almost 6 years ago. Was our first date! 😁 Staff were friendly and attentive, fast service, and chicken wings were amazing! We still go here regularly once or twice a month for happy hour, and its our go to place to hang out with friends, like today. They have been consistent in terms of atmosphere and quality of service, and I believe the chicken wings even gotten better! Casual, fun and friendly neighborhood bar. Love this place!
Its your average bar. Nothing exceptional nor is it disappointing. Good spot for a quick drink or two but thats about it. Would I visit again? If Im in the area I would stop by. Although, I only had drinks and the patrons there seem to enjoy their food orders as well. Then again, its my opinion. I prefer cocktail bars were old fashions are done to the tee and delicious.
Love this place!! The shepherds pie is delicious, also the burger is a great choice. By night the place is happily crowded with great people and great ambience, an authentic Irish/American pub with great beer options. The staff is always friendly, fast and professional. One of my favorites in the area :)
Pretty classic New York crowd for a Friday afternoon. Waitress was super nice, specials were on point, and its a great location between Carnegie Hall and Central Park. You can sneak in as a tourist and immerse yourself in Daily Midtown life. Note - go easy on the happy hour beer specials as its a one-person bathroom right off of the bar. Enjoy!
WHAT IS THE POINT OF GOOGLE MAPS IF IT ISNT ACCURATE?!!!!!! I am planning my travel around it and it’s so off that it’s completely worthless to use. Please edit and revise whatever system you’re using because all it causes is problems. I’d rather have you not mention a time if it’s not even close to being accurate. Would have ubered. I will jump over th w turn style at least 5 times to make up for this ridiculous experience of
Pretty good Irish pub right off of southern Central Park. Perfect location to grab some simple, tasty food after a day walking around midtown. The staff is nice, food is standard wings, nachos, Shepards Pie youll see around NYC but it was still done well.Only issue is the restaurant is a bit small and wraps around the bar. its very likely that tables are filled making it hard to fit a decently sized party but if you are looking for dinner for 1-4 its a great choice.
This site is my first choice place. Of all restaurants I know I prefere it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to visit this restaurant. when I I need a special dinner, this place comes first to my mind. fresh and food and a rich cuisine.helpful staff, and agreeable mood. In addition to that, the bill is reasonable. I tell about this spot with great pleasure.
Ive been here several times both for meals and drinks. Everyone on the staff had always been friendly and the service is great no matter how busy they are. All of the food had been good. They have your basic pub fair, so dont look for something healthy of fancy. The prices are also reasonable, which is hard to find in this part of the city.
A friendly place and staff. Basic pub food, but excellent and plentiful. You likely will not be able to clean your plate. Lots of tv sports and vintage pop music. Fish & chips is superb. Lots of draught. I stuck with Coors Light, $5 for honest pint. You will love this place.
This restaurant is my preferable site. Of all restaurants I know I prefere it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to visit this place. when I want to go to a good meal, this restaurant comes straight to my mind. superb and food and a rich menu.trained crew, and good atmosphere. Not less important, the bill is affordable. I sent my friends to this restaurant with great pleasure.
The last time I was here over 2 years ago I really enjoyed it bar my last night where I was charged double which left me bitter. This time around the staff where different and......lovely. I like the look and feel of this bar and I find the food to be very good.Rush hour and lunchtime the bar can be very busy but it is a most when in New York
I have been here several times over the years. The reason I like it is because its great place to drink and watch people watching one another. The whole place is seating around a bar which is in the middle of the square room. Sitting at the bar, youre across other people so looking at one another is inevitable.
I sent my friends to this place with my warmest recommendations. I go their often. This recommendation is always successful. The the cooking is delicious and the stuff is very friendly and cooperative. Whenever we eat in this place we enjoy a delightful evening. I recommend this place with pleasure.
Stopped in here for a drink before an event after work. Decent sized bar that wasnt too packed when we got there, but every seat at the bar was taken. They make their Moscow Mules with the Crabbies ginger beer! AKA.. the drink is all alcohol. Great prices and even better location right in Midtown. Will be back
I remember taking someone on a date there a few months ago. Although the place is a bit busy, man the food is amazing. I forgot the name of the sandwich but it had steak and some cheese but wow, it was so amazing. (Order it medium rare btw) Anyways, the flavor just came to me with the first bite.
Today afternoon I went to PJ Carneys to have lunch and drinks. Its a great place with great food and drinks. It was not my first time there today. I have had only good experience until today. The waitress was very rude and grumpy. She was the younger one of the two working today. She ruined my lunch with her mood killing skills. It was this bad that made me leave a review here...
This was a totally happening Irish pub before a show at Carnegie. I think every table and chair was taken. The environment was nice and pleasant for the most part. It felt Irish-ey. It was service to the point. I think the food looked good by the looks of the menu and other peoples plates/desire to come to such a hustling place. It looked like authentic Irish fare along with authentic Irish service most likely. Wine was a little pricey too and limited. Probably a beer and burger type of place with some Irish spin.
I’ve been here during lunch, dinner, happy hours (There are two a day!), and late nights. I think the late nights have been the most packed, at least when I’ve been there. The menu is simple, basic bar fare and the food is pretty good. Food and drinks are average price for the area.
Good food and drinks. Touchy with happy hour drinks 5 hours walking sightseeing etc. Asked for double round, really thirsty and tired .IT DOESENT WORK THAT WAY we were told, silly. Customer always right Got one drink ordered another immediately . Why all the sillyness.music too high. Would still recommend . Just stop the silly stuff. Ps. Dont serve drinks by handling the glasses by the top. Hygiene. It is the little things
Its your standard Irish Pub, but made to NYCs tastes, which is mildly understaffed, and the service is pretty rushed. That being said, Id happily come back here. It filled my craving for chicken wings after walking around the Met for a few hours, and the prices they have are pretty reasonable for NYC.
Amazing irish pub. We had dinner and drinks just like home. However we left our hoody there and flew back to ireland emailed them and within 24 hours they had it kept ina safe place for us. Still trying to figure out a good postal method.. all in all very kind caring and friendly pub. Have a pint for me in it. 😁
They thought that I could drink 15 drinks in 6 hours and still query the bill. Basically because I had 7 pints of Guinness, they took advantage and added an extra 3 pints to my bill. When I asked about the bill, instead of talking to me, I got a huge emotional reaction. Which is a pretty sure sign that something is wrong. In the end I paid with zero tip, never to return.
Best Fish n chips Ive found in NYC. The batter is thick, and the oil permeates gloriously through it, so it has a crispy, fried, layered texture on the outer part- reminiscent of of the crystallization in the caramel of creme brûlée. Delicious tartar sauce. The fish breeding reminds me of the tastes in a Krispy creme doughnut, without the sweetness. Good pub environment.
I used to go there in the late 80s, all through the 90s and up until 2004 until I came home to Ireland, I worked in Desmonds/Kennedys up on 57st, PJs is possibly the best bar in the neighborhood, friendly staff, good food served quite fast on even a busy day, one of the few bars I miss in New York.
The sever was awesome but when I ask the bartender to plug in my phone so it can charge so that I can stay and keep drinking she just put it behind the bar and did not plug it in and when I ask why she gave me an attitude and said that she was busy but the customers where still out side and she was just standing around so I asked for my phone back and when back to my hotel while I was still able to get a uber before my phone was to die

2021-08-29My wife and one year old son went here the other day. I got the french onion soup which tasted different than normal but was still amazing. I also got the Taxi burger. It was cooked exellently but there was 2 eggs on it which was a little too much. My wife got the avacado and BLT which had plenty of bacon and avacado. The service was amazing and we loved tge experience.

2022-04-18The weather was hot, the streets were crowded and we just wanted to get out of both. We dropped into PJ Carneys pub and received a warm welcome. The friendly staff brought over a jug of water and we ordered some food. I can highly recommend the Gaelic burger, it was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious.

2019-01-10We have been fortunate to make it to NYC a few times. The first time there we happened upon this place by accident. We have made sure that we return each time. It is crowded but that is the beauty of it. It is definitely up beat and there food is great. The prices are reasonable and it is so close to Central Park.

2022-03-165 star service, 3 star food. Go if you want simple pub food, but this is not a dining destination by any means. Cozy and good music and the proximity to Central Park is quite convenient. I recommend the BLT.

2022-03-19I paid 30 bucks for 2 Jameson and cokes. I live in Hells Kitchen and find much cheaper options in the area. Felt completely ripped off. Other Irish bars offer cheaper prices so try avoid.
