Terrible!!! Equipment is fine. Always good condition and clean. But, bathrooms are worse than prison. Monday morning 11/9/20. ALL I CAN SAY IS TERRIBLE. with all the comidies stuff going on your team should be on top of cleaning all the time. Not just when they feel like it especially when you have 4 workers standing around at the counter doing absolutely nothing. BAD.
Love everything about planet fitness except they dont have free barbells just Smith machines which kinda ruins the whole point of squatting but its fine
Great gym. Staff is always friendly and cheerful and there to help. Everything is clean. In addition to gym clients wiping down equipment after they are done, the staff also come around and clean all machines. Love this place!
This Planet Fitness location is pretty good. I have noticed that the staff consistently work to keep the gym clean. People come to the gym and basically focus on working out. Everyone seems to be respectful of each other. So far I am very satisfied with this particular Planet Fitness.

Ive been a member of the Bayshore location since they opened. Ive complained multiple times about the free weights rack and how much dirt there is on them so as to when I pick them up, dirt falls on my face. Till this day it still hasnt been cleaned. Its like if they dont care.
Very Clean .. they have a massage / bed .. it shoots water .. gives you a wonderful massage .. also has tanning beds .. they are so so .. small beds .. no tanning feature .. gave me a mild sunburn.
The gym is very clean and they have a good variety of equipment. The staff is super nice and helpful for beginners like myself😄

Its a simple gym .... different work out machines available for use. For $10 a month you cannot find a better deal for the price. Good luck on your health journey!
Staff is nice and friendly but weights are never re-racked, plates are always on the floor and there is garbage all over... i’ve seen the same water bottle everyday for 5 days in the same spot before someone took it upon themselves to throw it out.. Love this gym!! Just always a mess..
No gymtimidation is something that the staff live by. Everyone is very great, even fellow members, dont be afraid to ask for a helping hand. As for pricing, this one of the most affordable gyms on the island and you get way more than you pay for.
Love this gym. They live up to their judgement free motto. I always feel free, theres ample machines to accommodate guests, and staff is always willing to be of assistance. Love the message bed. Only peeve is the check in process. Usually Im trying to get a quick workout in before work and 9/10 im waiting on a preoccupied staff to check me in. On occasion honestly Ive just walked in and started my workout out of frustration and after waiting a good 5 minutes or more just to have my tag scanned. They most def need to have a more efficient check in process.
My wife and I still work out at this gym due to the location and the tanning included for $20 a month. It’s what I would call a beginner gym as it lacks in the equipment Dept but you can still get a good workout here regardless. The front desk staff needs some customer service training. I am a Personal Trainer and have worked in gyms before, and it’s common place to have the staff smile and greet the members as they come in/exit. At this gym you’re lucky if they even look at you when you hand them your card...the men mostly I must say bc the women are more friendly and actually speak. This is a very simple and will keep people wanting to come back as opposed to looking for a more welcoming atmosphere. Also, The fire alarm has gone off three times since I’ve been a member here and each time we all were asked to leave. This happens I understand, but having to cut 3 workouts short was very frustrating to say the least! I’m not sure how many times it happened but 3 that I was present for, but it seems that they have since fixed that issue. All in all it’s an OK gym, but if your looking for a friendly smiling face when you enter and lots of advanced equipment than keep on looking. I can say that if you get the black card you can go to other locations, and the Happauge one is really nice so there are options.
Suppose to open on Sunday at 7. Always late. When I called to complain they hung up on me. I’ll be calling corporate. Very unfriendly, stand around on their phones all the time.
Planet fitness is a pretty good gym. I try to workout early and beat the crowds. The staff are great abrochable and are always cleaning and picking up after members mess! I would recommend a bicycle rack in front for members to ride and secure their bikes. Great for the money you pay.
I joined almost two months ago. My friend took me in there and I received a one day pass with no issues. They only take checks to open an account, however, they were willing to let me come back with my check within 3 days after getting started. I came back the next day. Clean, enough machines, all is good here.
Havent been here in a few yrs. Decided to join since its one of the only gyms that allowed a my 14yr old to join. Well I was highly impressed love the update(yeah im sure it happened a while ago lol). Staff was super friendly and everything was super clean. Keep up the good work PF Bay Shore!!!
This was my beginners gym to get over the hurdles of feeling intimated and learning all the machines. The staff is super friendly and helpful. All resources you could look for, they offer. No longer there but recommend them for anyone who is starting out.

I generally like Planet Fitness it is a no nonsense gym. You go in work out and leave. This location is no different. Im not sure how old it is but I love the machines down to the treadmills. I like that they have hydromassagers and the staff is not cheap on coins for the chairs lol
I like it no mess no fuss no mess go in workout leave they did crank the heat a little too much today but I dont think they notice because it must have been cold in the place because of the snow otherwise I enjoy it privacy nobody bothers you in and out
I really like this planet fitness. Conveniently located on my way home from work right off the highway. Friendly staff. Spacious. The only reason for the low stars other people give are because of some of the rude obnoxious customers that go there.

Someone step on poop and there is feces on peddle on one of the machines. I told the shorter stature female employee with red dye on her hair, i showed her where it is, she did nothing about it. It was still there the next day.. it smells. If they clean it the next time i go there i will take this review off, if not, i might take a pic and post it for the owner to see.
The planet fitness in Bay shore NY is very unsatisfactory. Customer service is very poor. I frequently go to work out there, but find that the equipments are not maintained well and unsanitary, although,I do clean the equipment I use prior to and after use the dust build up and garbage left on the machine is not good. I did visit several other planet fitness locations and found the staff to be more curteous. I just returned from a 2 week vacation in Ponce Puerto Rico the equipment there was cleaned every half hour staff are making rounds making sure papertowels are stacked areas are clean not on thwie personal cell phones or walking around waving at the customers while garbage is all around the equipment. When i asked one of the associates Dena why she stated to me that it was the cutomers responsibility to clean the after using it. When i told her there was garbage and dust build up she said well its not our rexpi si ility when you signed up you have fo ckean it. I also questioned why 6 employees are behind the counter and not taking care of the place. She would not answer.

You really cant go wrong for the price. Its VERY no frills, but if you know that going into it, it shouldnt really bother you.Other gyms ofer much, MUCH, more, but at an elevated cost.The gym itself, including the bathroom/locker room are clean, and all the machines Ive ever used look fairly new and work properly.For the people that complain that its too crowded, its a result of going during peak time, which is the same for ANY gym out there. 5-8pm will always be the most crowded time for a gym, as people are getting their workout in after work. I usually go between 8:30 and 9:30, after I get the kids to bed, and have never had to wait for a cardio machine/treadmill/stationary bike. Theres a chart in the gym showing the average members in the gym at certain times, so no one should be shocked at how crowded it is during peak hours.My main gripe so far is people not using the 30 Minute Workout area properly. People tend to hover around one machine to get their 3-4 sets in on that particular machine. For the most part, every machine in that area has a comparable machine in the regular weights area, so I dont know why they feel the need to use those.In the same vein, the staff does nothing to enforce the rule that the 30 Minute Workout area should only be used by people that are doing the circuit. Ill be moving from station to station, only to have to skip a station because someone is hovering on the bicep machine. Thats my main gripe with the gym. But if you go at the right times, you can have the place more or less to yourself.
I looked at others peoples reviews after going to the bay shore location twice this past week and noticed that the only reviews about the gym being clean was mostly from people that are new to working out in a gym. I have been working out in gyms for about 25years and have obviously been to multiple gyms over the years and I went to this gym 2 times this week and from my experiences it is the filthiest gym that I have ever been in. Both times the garbage pails where overflowing with used paper towels in the gym area and the locker room and bathroom was even worse with the paper towels over flowing all over the floor and being left all over the locker room. I didnt even finish my workout and I had to leave because of the condition of the place. The reason way there is plenty of equipment for people to use is empty compared to all the other planet fitness gyms Ive been to. Corporate should be aware of the condition of this location and either clean it up immediately or shut it down!! With all the germs and viruses going around these day this is extremely unexpectable!! And just for the record I have never wrote a review on any business but I feel that with good people dying from the flu and other germ related illnesses these days that this need to be said I just hope that the issue is addressed!!! I would recommend trying another planet fitness before going to this one because for the same money you can workout in a much cleaner gym... Good luck to you all and do your best to be health!!!

I think its a great place to work out. Cant beat the price. Equipment is easy to use. Staff is helpful. Its a clean environment. Feel very comfortable working out here.

I called Planet Fitness in Bayshore, NY and spoke to Jason who was extremely incompetent. I was having issues online transferring my home gym from Bayshore to Lake Mary, FL. Jason advised me that I should speak to the manager as he was not sure how to resolve my issue. He said I had to email the manager and they would call me. Are you kidding me? Jason I would recommend that you get training or choose a different position.
The planet fitness in bay shore is Ike a prison not a gym. Ive been forced to jump rope outside in the elements for 6 months now, ridiculous. The manager is not friendly at all, she acts like a warden in a prison. I just made the switch to retro fitness and couldnt be happier. Retro fitness allows and has jump ropes and the equipment is better. If you have to join planet fitness join the Medford location not bay shore.
Best Planet Fitness location in LI. Clean and newest equipment and not usually crowded.

The air in there is thick and moist. My aunt passed out during her workout due to that same reason, even the EMT said the air quality/circulation was poor. Many people have complained but no changes were made. I switched to Hauppauge Planet Fitness....HUGE DIFFERENCE!!! Its new and they have more machines! Make the switch if you live close to Motor Parkway.
Good gym for the price. The place is usually clean and no patrons or staff are annoying, like they can be at other gyms (flirty or intimidating).
I’d go to this gym a lot more if it was closer to my house. The only thing that takes away a star is the fact that there are no arc trainers like the other locations. Not a huge deal but I’m not a fan of the ellipticals they have.
Can be cleaner. Should also have more Bench press stations. Also notice, there is no water bottle filling station. Great feature found at other locations
This is a good gym. And it has my favorite work out equipment. I plan on visiting again soon
I stopped going because the dust on the equipment was crazy on the ceiling too plus they charged me my annual and plus my month when I stopped the membership like really I hadn’t gone in a month the staff aren’t friendly and stand doing nothing with COVID they should clean more
I just joined the gym, so far its good the only thing I hate is that they wouldnt let my 16yr old sister work out with me. They should at least let her in since shes with an adult. Other than that I guess its ok.
The Bayshore location was incredibly clean and the staff was top notch. The greenlawn branch needs to be like this location
This one is better than the one by my house! Its much more open, theres more tv channels to choose from and they have rowing machines, which my PF doesnt have. The equipment is a little older but it does the trick!

Worst gym ever... I joined 3months back in Bay Shore PF and they cancelled my gym membership today saying u didnt pay for the gym for 2months whereas they had all my info and my phone# .. Didnt even get one call or notification that there is something wrong with my account and how come the gym allow someone to come use the gym if there was a non payment for 2 months.... Ridiculos!!The assistant manager was so rude and uptight ..and wanted me to join the gym again and pay the ridiculos pay membership fees and there $20 joining fees .They have 0 customer service and no happy faces working there... Never ever again!

My experiance with planet fitness has been terrible,The management hasnt a clue how to run a gym,The trainer Mike is great in training you how to use a cell phone , that is all he does.Lots of homeless find the showers a great deal for 10 dollars a month

The staff is friendly and approachable. My only problem is the other members that dont understand that they need to wipe a machine down after sweating all over it, but thats not the staffs fault.
I got kicked out of Planet Fitness for leaving a business card I clean Cesspool septic tanks sewers and drains in the bathroom they said they that I was warned numerous times not to do that and once you get three warnings you get kicked out for life nobody ever told me anything they completely lied if they would have actually said something I would have not done it but these people are just jealous evil people that work for the Illuminati they will all rot in hell teeming up on you like bullies its a very uncomfortable place to work out they treat me like s*** maybe because Im skinny and every personal trainer that works there I wouldnt let them go near me with a ten-foot pole so I asked who is the guy that actually wrote me up I want to see this guy want to talk to him and then they told me that he doesnt even work at the Bayshore Branch he works in Centereach so I had a f*** could you have kick me out when you dont even work there I would just love to meet the guy that wrote me up thats all just see him face to face see what he looks like I could just imagine hes probably some freaky wacko if you actually talk to him just rambling in circles like a jackass thanks Planet Fitness for the great experience by the way Ive been going there for over 10 years and just the last 2 years or so the management turned into s*** the one guy that works there always follow me in the bathroom to see what I was doing mean while I was just shaving and taking a s*** and a shower like if I was doing something in there I wasnt supposed to be it was just a very uncomfortable place to go in the end I knew just had bad feelings and Vibes every time I went in there so as you walk out the bathroom down that little hallway does a camera pointing at you so I used to flip it off everyday and I think they just got mad and some kind of little evil streak and just did some kind of evil s*** and wrote me up without saying it just evil people thats all God has a place for them its hell which thats what theyre rotting in right now because thats why theyre so evil they think going to the gym is going to make them look pretty meanwhile good looks is from genes well I would have to do is work out a little bit get caught up and I would probably be a sex machine they could never touch me

Really nice employees that work at this location, its just too small and a lot of the equipment is outdated and noisy. Its doable, but the Medford, Hauppauge and Melville locations are a lot better and bigger

Planet Fitness is not upfront with their fees. To many hidden fees and their customer service at the Bay Shore, Long Island Branch is HORRIBLE!I would only recommend this place to my enemies.Adios
This is a little smaller than my usual Planet Fitness with less choices of machines, but it was nice and clean.
Manager needs to be changed asap she is very rude and very unfriendly this shouldnt be the behavior of the manager . Very unprofessional I loved this place until jerry and Nicole were here and the morning staff isnt that bad either now the place sucks so much I might change my gum very soon to 24 hours fitness .

This is just an over sized hotel gym. Your usually waiting for a tredmill not enough free weights no plate lifting. Floor us worn down in many areas. Looking forward for my year to be up.

2019-10-17This review is not for the planet fitness on bay shore!!This is a relatively new location. It is in Hauppauge. Opened in early 2018. The facility is huge with brand new equipments. Staff members are nice. Members are also nice and respectful to each other. $10 monthly membership with no contracts. $21.99 monthly for black card, which you can bring a guest each time and use the hydro bed and chair, massage chairs, tanning beds, etc. On top of that, the black card member can visit all other Planet Fitness locations cross the country. There are plenty of parking outside.

2021-03-19Hauppauge Planet Fitness has to be the worst. I personally havent been there in over a year and now glad I have not. It seems that the staff is ill advised on basic replacement of common gym equipment etc...Staff response to this issueitems are discontinued. When all other local Planet fitness have either added the item/still providing the benefits of its availability. CLEARLY NOT DISCONTINUED. Though plenty of staff on board,the bath room is filthy! I was forced to leave w/o using it. Due to the horrendous stench dirty stalls that were filled with waste or out of order. Best part of this ordeal was to leave so I thought. Only to discover someone hit the bumper of the car. Didnt even spend a full 30 minutes to have this happen wow.Had to file a police report etc. STAFF TOTALLY UNHELPFUL. Advised new C19 policy doesnt allow them to access camera footage!!! And only the corporate office has access to cameras.Needless to say this is the second parking lot car incident at this Gym in 2years. Never going back to this location. Totally disgusted. Conveniently the manager was on vacation. leaving the assistant manager,not that this should make a difference in professionalism. But for the new staff at this location I havent a pleasant word for any of them. Yesterday 3pm Jan/27/2021. Much rather exercise from home if it means ever going back. WOW!

And everything is supposed to be %50 off for black card members but BESIDES THE MUSCLE MILK. These people are like scam. Not happy w this place at all. Additional edit; i have been buying the muscle milk for %50 off at every other planet.

2021-05-31Signed up PF over the past 2 weeks.So far it is a pleasant experience.Machines are clean, staff is helpful, and machines are available.On the other hand I do see people growing out of this gym relatively quickly.It’s great for beginners but experienced Gymmers would prolly not find PF up to par.

2021-05-18Cleanliness is atrocious!!! Besides the wipe down done by clients using equipment it’s evident that staff does not clean nor disinfect equipment by the thick layer of dust at foot of treadmills. Alarming, given we in a pandemic.
