I have been treated in a rude way with one of the staff members with no fault from my side, he asked me to leave the building and he is going to cancel my membership. When I asked him what is the reason he said no reason!!!. , I requested to talk to a manager he refused and refused to provide managers contact, I hope management take care of that kind of discrimination which is unacceptable and not legal.
Gym is good but they need to upgrade on bicycles cardio machine all bicycles does not work properly some are out of order
Since I love Midtown I am going to that gym. But for the price of black card which is bit more then $20 you can visit any branch in New York City. Here you have everything you need for a normal workout. The crew really cares about cleanliness. Its pretty clean, big variety of machines, and friendly crew.
I love this gym!!!!!! It wasn’t crowded99% of the equipment was workingOnly thing wrong was the toilet wasn’t flushing.
I like that it’s open 24hrs. Lots of machines. However, I was traveling out of town. My hometown fitness center has their employees consistently cleaning the machines. I visited this Plant Fitness 3 times during my stay, I Never saw them cleaning any machines. I know we are supposed to clean them ourselves, and I do, but with Covid around these days, it wouldn’t hurt for the employees to stay off there phones behind the desk, or hiding in the bathroom using there phones and help prevent Corona Virus. I’m also a little concerned that they spray we used for cleaning was just water and not cleaner?Thanks for listening.
There are three stair climbers in this gym and two of them don’t work. Reported the issue to the staff two weeks ago but nothing happen so far. Very disappointed.

I did not like the atmosphere I went around 3 in the night and people were actually sleeping sitting on the machines like what kind of behavior is this also homeless people with there stuff by the machines ewww and cleaning 👎 ! Not coming back here
Great machines and they are usually not too busy when I go. Only issues are the dumbbells don’t go higher than 70 pounds and there are no free barbells. Despite this though, I’m still able to get a solid workout in that leaves me wiped. The 24/7 aspect of if it also very convenient.

I joined this gym 09/27, the next day I cancelled my agreement, once I didnt find anything that it was offered on the website (not even the initial session with the trainer which I received a confirmation email, because they didnt have trainer). According to my contract (and the staff who I cancelled my contract), if I cancelled the contract within 3 days from the date that I did, all money paid pursuant to such contract shall be refunded within fifteen business day of receipt of such notice of cancelation . Its been more than one month, and I still didnt get my money back. I already sent 4 emails called twice, and didnt even received an answer from the gym. Would like to know when I ll get my money back
Tanning is always broken at this location. Also, never seems as clean as the other locations

Standard NYC gym. Enough to get the heart rate up while traveling and it was clean.
It was like 12pm and the ladies locker room was FILTHY the trash cans in the stall were over flowing and there was three people at the desk and there was no excuse for the showers and restrooms to be that filthy. They were immaculate pre and post covid now its disgusting theres a lot ot of new faces. The team that was there before kept the place spotless
Nice to be able to work out while out of town. But after purchasing a lock, and using the locker at the Manhatten location, I worked out for a couple of hours. When retiring back to the locker, someone removed the lock and took all of my cash. Beware!
Dirty. The floors look and feel dirty. The “spa” is dirty. That tanning booth feels STICKY from the ground up. The worker with the black and pink KPOP wig has an attitude.
Missing a few AB machine compared to new PF gyms. Unfortunately they do not provide any water refill stations either so you are encouraged to buy their very expensive bottles of water.Not very green or sensible when everyone needs water after a good workout.

Not a lot of people. You have plenty of space to workout anything you like. Staffs are friendly as well. They will assist you with checking in as well as for the guest. Recommend signing up with this branch.
As a flight attendant, I have been to many PFitness locations in many states. This location is clean , staff is professional but could smile some more. I transferred my basic membership to this location because its easy to get too. There are some things that I noticed would greatly improve the facility, for instance. Consistently keeping locker room clean. Repair water fountains. Promoting Adherence to the no street clothes rules, no dropping weights and grunting. There are a lot of cardio machines which is great, but its hard to have a smooth workout when members are holding up the limit equipment due to texting or social media. For the most part I love your club and the staff.
The staff here has been infected with the lowest morale, causing lack in both cleanliness and customer service. Locker rooms/bathrooms left in unusable states for days on end as well as the aloof and insensitive manner the employees carry themselves will leave you with a very poor experience.
This gym is so worth the money its worth it just have a place to use the restroom in Manhattan but its open 24/7 its so easy to get to take the SAT or the sea and get off on 34th Penn Station boom right there
Im rewriting my review and giving it 5 stars because during COVID these places have been the only way for me to release my stress. This location is so convenient and there is never any line outside. Also want to say that I posted a review a year ago and someone responded with care and concerns. I just recently got an email asking how my experience has been. It was someone following up on my review from last year. That shows that they care and are trying their best. I appreciate that. Overall no complaints because I have seen improvement in the women locker rooms
I signed up at this location yesterday and I went to the lockers and put my gym bag up did my workout and came back my lock was clipped. Nothing was stolen but the brand new lock I bought was gone. I worked out for 2 hours and came back and I lost my lock ?! When I told the staff they said file a police report. I dont recement this location. Dont come here unless you like your lock being clipped during the same day you sign up and/or workout for 2 hours.
A complete, and completely unnecessary, nightmare. Choose any other gym in the city. Literally anywhere else. Zero Stars.I was a member of this gym a few years ago when we live in NYC. When we moved back to Europe, I cancelled the account. For months after, they continued to charge and every month I would call and go through the same process. Finally, when covid started, they confirmed that the account was closed... only to reactivate it without authorization when they reopened the club!!! Dozens of calls and requests to support and this problem is ongoing!Arlette doesnt respond to emails, and poor Jose isnt the one who can handle this (though he has done his very best to be helpful, and continues to ask her to fix this.) Our only choice at this point is to report the team and location for fraud and escalate to small claims court - an unimaginable nuisance all because of incompetent management.
Hands-down the number one Perk of a planet fitness membership is definitely the fact that they are open 24 hours followed by the tanning beds and the red light therapy besides that the gym is nothing special
BEWARE! This place will SCAM you if you’re not careful! My parents came to visit and they wanted to sign up for one month. They were told multiple times that they would only be charged $10 for that month and could cancel by a certain date without being charged anything else. My parents don’t speak English very well so they called me on the phone to make sure they were understanding everything correctly. I spoke to a PF person on the phone who assured me multiple times that as long as we came in person and cancelled by a specific date, we would not get charged anything else. Well low and behold we went in on the day they said we needed it cancel by and were told it would be a $58 cancellation fee! When I told them what we were told the people on call basically said there was nothing they could do and we’d have to speak to the manager who wasn’t even in that day (there should ALWAYS be a manager on call if they’re the only people that can get things done). We had to come back 2 more times (3 in total) to make sure they cancelled the membership and didn’t charge us the cancellation fee. If we hadn’t gone through that trouble, they would’ve gotten away with their SCAM. They took advantage of the fact that my parents did not speak the language to try to rope them into charging them more money than they were initially told. It is disgraceful, the people working there do not care and clearly management is shotty. Unless you are willing to jump through hoops when you’re ready to leave, DO NOT SIGN UP HERE!Updating my review based on owner’s response: we did go on the 10th, we were told AT SIGN UP that we would not get charged ANYTHING (not a cancellation fee nor an additional month, which I asked about separately and directly multiple times) so long as we went in person and cancelled on the 10th. We went in person and asked to cancel on the 10th and THEN were told about the cancellation fee that NO ONE had mentioned before. Any explanation given is just an excuse to disguise the scammy behavior employees in this location engaged in. Like I also said in my review, we were able to fix the issue after going back two more times so I will not be reaching out to any billing department. Do not listen to the owner’s comments as they do not give any sort of accurate explanation and fail to address their lies and complete lack of customer service. STAY AWAY!
Clean. Simple gym. Needs a stretch area. Very poor musical selections - no variety and only caters to the taste of the very very young ( not reflective of a diverse NYC clientele)
I have been going here for over 2 years. Their customer service is fine, however I wish they kept bathrooms cleaner. There is rarely any bathroom tissue. Overall, they have a big variety of training equipment. However, there is always few machines which are broken. I think it is a great value for the money regardless.
Open for late quick workouts and cardio for a great monthly price.
Ive been a member since the opening and the quality of the gym has gone straight down.Pros: There are lots of cardio machines and never a wait. Its incredibly cheap compared to almost any other gym. Yes, you get what you pay for.Cons: The showers are poorly maintained. Twice in the last week, there was no soap in the showers. Its rare when all 4 mens showers are working. Hot water is hit or miss. When I talked to the front desk, their attitude was clearly I dont care.I understand, its really cheap. But it doesnt take much to fix the issues.
The convenience of this branch’s location is matched only by the paucity of its gym lockers. I arrive at approximately 5:30pm, which is surely an unusually busy time, but can get a locker maybe 20% of the time. I am relegated to carrying about my backpack coat and suit coat whilst working out, which certainly disrupts the experience of the several hundred other people there and is also contrary to gym policy. There are other locker room designs that would have significantly increased the availability of lockers. Outside of that I think the layout is basically the best they can do in that small space given the rabid zombie apocalypse that strikes this gym on a daily basis. And you can’t beat the location for Port Authority commuters (except perhaps within the Port Authority...?)
This is the most unpleasant experiment in this fitness club .They make the temperature in the room very hot, like in a steam room. When I asked the administrator SIMBAL why it was so hot, He told that this was done so that people sweat more! I asked if they conducted a survey among their clients if they wanted to work out in the hot room and whether the majority of clients supported this, he replied that they did not ask anyone and that I just do not understand what is good for sport! considering that you have to practice wearing a mask this makes the oxygen supply difficult plus when you do exercises the body heats up by itself when doing physical activity, if you add to this the high temperature of the room, it turns out something like hot yoga, only fitness. I didn’t buy a hot fitness subscription! but nobody cares, this hall does not want to listen to the voice of its clients. And why do the administrators who work here allow themselves to say that I am not smart enough to understand these things! I worked out in many other clubs of the same network and everywhere it was cool and comfortable to practice, but here ...I first time meet such an attitude towards clients and such a position in terms of temperature selection...(((((
This is one of the best locations that ive ever been at.The manager and the girl at the front desk are so nice and kind. I had a trouble with my membership which I got at Harlems PF, but the girls helped me with everything!!!Im so glad and thankful!!
Its a good place that pretty much has what youll need. Its not the citys best gym. But, what do you expect for $10 a month?

Love the location as I can go directly after work but that’s it. The locker room are way too small and there are way too many cardio machines. They only have TWO bench presses and a small stack of free weights which are shoved in a corner. Poorly design layout
The facilities are as good as what youd expect. The male staff members are pleasant and friendly, however 75% of the female staff act as if theyve never heard of customer service, or a smile. Its rare to have a gym that doesnt say a word as you check in, but this gym makes it common place.
Today was my first time here, and it was a great experience. It had everything plus more than I can imagine for the price of the gym. Maybe at different times people have different experience, but I was here around noon, it wasnt packed and things were clean. However I was leaving around 1:15pm and it started to get packed all of a sudden in locker room, so Im not sure what happened there. But overall, I enjoyed the visit today.
NEW UPDATE: Second week in row no WIFI. New Assistant Manager is great! She is keeping things her a lot better and it’s cleaner. UPDATE: not the same! My orginal review was good. Now not so much. The price 2 pay for a budget gym are bathrooms that are not cleaned as much as they should be- hair clogged showers, open garbage bins. What I hate the most is repair people that show up at 7:30 in the morning? How am I supposed to take a shower in the morning when there are men in there? I’m not walking around with a towel on? They could come at 10 or 11 after the crowd leaves. I hope the owner reads this! This has happened more than once!

Cheap gym so expect the worst clientele and customer service. Favorite spot for the homeless and local crooks, cops called to the gym a few times every week for some shenanigans, most often theft. Managers and staff don’t care who goes to their gym, paying customers or not. Open 24 hours but late nights bring the worst people and front desk staff are usually asleep so anyone can stroll in. You’ll often encounter bums who aren’t there to work out. Just a nasty gym that either needs to hire security or close down.
This place is a dream! Very clean! I always see the staff wiping down the equipment. I’ve never seen that at any other gym. It’s also very easy to cancel membership or transfer membership to another location. The temperature is always on point as well. It’s never hot or uncomfortable. A++
Gym is located on multiple floors of a building, so walking to different machines can be a hassle. The area seemed a little bit on the older side; it is definitely not as modern as other locations. The massage area was extremely hot and unconformable.
Not a friendly place to go. I had to go to the front desk 3 times to get answers about the massage bed, No token during the late nights for massages chairs. I felt very uncomfortable at all, left the gym as soon as I got there. Ive been to many gyms around the city and this is the least of my favorites.
Just joined PF this week, and starting to regret it. Despite the owners responses to the contrary, no hot water. Bathroom smells like a sewer. Locker room incredibly small considering how many people use this gym. Many machines dont work. Will walk down to 27th street to see if that location is better, otherwise may try to reverse my recent membership.
I been waiting for years for this location to open since I worked around the corner. Although I dont anymore, when I heard they opened after the long wait I made the trip out there only to be turned away. Today, 5-1-16 Sunday afternoon the two employees working the front desk denied me entrance when they claimed my membership was no good and cancelled for a year. I explained that it was not possible since I am a regular member Nd have been for 5 consecutive years and visit many locations with my black card. Despite providing detailed information on my original membership from Harlem and my current one in jersey and explaining that just yesterday I visited the white plains location they still wouldnt let me in. All that I would be fine with if the male employee working there not been ignorant enough to make a stupid comment. When he asked me if I been paying my membership and I replied with a yes he responded, you sure? That sounded like a fake yes. I kept my composure though and showed them on my bank app the payment taken from my account two weeks ago. Even then both told me that I could not use their gym. Ridiculous. Until they have able employees on board the manager should not be taking Sundays off. In the mean time after learning of my experience Mr Daniel Figueroa takes his time to show proper customer service etiquette and teach these two characters how to fix the glitches on their system. I guarantee you I will be visiting again and hope to have a better experience.

Ur only getting older better stay in shape for tomorrow. But as far as this gym goes, its pretty nice spot clean locker rooms and just like the rest of planet fitness. They have everything. Now on the flip side. Alot of people come here rite after work, being that this gym is in the middle of the city. The gym is constantly crowded. With the exception of maby Friday and holidays. The water fountains dont always work and when they do you lose pressure (bad). The air conditioning situation if iffy at times. I dont know that could be part of there plan make you sweat it out. Still a nice place they do sell water. And if you occupy you time while you wait with a different workout you can have any machine you want with a short wait.
The gym is usually always crowded and I work out at 6am. My main issue is with the showers and locker room in general. I can put up with a lot but the showers are just disgusting. I have seen bandades and toletpaper (used toilet paper in the shower for days and today was the last straw. I saw these little black leatche things all over the walls and floor of the shower. Im a member with a black card. My home gym is in FL. I wanted to like this gym however the members are pretty gross. They never clean the equipment, theres garbage all over the place (and left for days), they camp on the Smith machines while sitting on their phones... I did not enjoy this gym. The best thing I can say is its pretty convenient to times square.

Good location and equipment. My only real issues are the space allocated for the free weights and there are only two the Smith Machines. The space is incredibly too small.They could take out some of the cardio machines and expand the space. Just two Smith Machines for such a busy gym? Even going on Sunday at 2pm was a little challenging to find space to workout. Also the mens room always seems to need attention though, regardless of when I visit, but I still go because its close.
I usually go during off peak hours to beat the crowds. If you come during the week after 5 good luck. Place is usually clean, except the mens locker room. I also dont understand how 50 lockers have locks on them at 6am. The entire gym has about 4 people in it.
An amazing gym . Very clean a lot of space . And most people are cool. Workers are amazing . This being said they have a lots .of machines and material .
I called this 35th Street midtown location Planet Fitness right now to ask why was I charged this month since I haven’t been at the gym since mid March due to the Covid-19. In March I got an email from PF stating that my account was frozen and that I’m not gonna be billed going forward. So when I was on the phone with 35th Street Planet Fitness front desk girl, she was very harsh and rude in her explanation ending every sentence with OK and I mentioned to her about it, her response was to tell me she has a face mask on, I said that’s not an excuse to communicate that way to which she hung up on me. When I tried calling right after she picked up the phone and hung up again before I could say anything. So no one would pick up the phone for the remaining of that day. It’s frustrating to deal with poor customer service I encountered today. PF you should hire people with better skills handling customers and phone calls than this. I don’t have any problem with the location or the gym in general besides this incident. But this was an unfortunate experience I would never want someone to go through.
“If I could give no stars, I would”First of all, this gym is not well kept. Especially the locker rooms. The toilets get clogged almost every day and the smell is ungodly (even for a gym locker room). The water fountains have been broken since December (can’t fill your bottle so make sure you bring one), and half the time the free weights and kettlebells are strewn all over the place. The layout is ridiculous. You have to squeeze into one of the theee corners available to do any mat stretching or exercises.But what happened today really takes the cake and I will never ever step foot in this gym again. A female employee was cutting a lock in the women’s locker room around 2:10pm. This in itself it’s alerting - why were they cutting a lock off of a locker? I understand this can happen if you leave things overnight, but mid day? Strange. She was having trouble with it, so in waltzes a male employee to help her out. No announcement, so notice - just waltzes right in. Women changing, women showering and all of a sudden a male just comes in. A poor woman stood in a towel hiding in the shower area because he was there.I walked out when this happened, but I noticed there were no signs posted on the entrance like there have been in the past, giving a heads up to any woman who is entering the locker room.I am absolutely disgusted by this and will be canceling my membership immediately. I filed a complaint with corporate but haven’t gotten a response.Take your $25 and go to any other gym - planet fitness is horrible.
I go at midnight so its pretty calm, check the timing when to avoid. Overall the place is clean and staff is friendly. Occasionally youd have that one guy that looks like he can bench press every single machine in the gym ask, how many more sets you have left. But overall a good gym.
After two weeks of trying to resolve a billing issue, Ive had enough. I was charged the membership fee after having cancelled my membership. I have called nine times, visited the premises five times and e-mailed once – the manager is conveniently out when I call, never in when I visit, and did not reply to my e-mail. Extremely poor customer service; do not give your billing info to this pf.

Great for quick-and-dirty workouts, this is not a place that has a lemon scented cold towels. It is highly functional and has the basic equipment that you need to get the job done. The staff is totally inattentive and not very helpful in general but is that really why you go to the gym?
I visited with my black card while traveling. I found this little crowded and cramped, but they have everything a typical Planet Fitness does. Staff arent the friendliest or most helpful, but youll get a good workout. Fellow gym goers are nice.
Really small and always busy. This Planet Fitness really cant support the amount of traffic it gets. There are only two Smith machines and 4 showers (if theyre all in order). Plan your workout well and you wont have to wait in line.Like most PFs it does have great membership fees and happens to be in a very good location. They just need to figure out some way to expand or cut traffic.
At a glance its pretty tidy but the bathrooms are very gross. And those lockers are pretty beat up. Some clearly have been pried open at some point. And other ones have locks on them in the open position so that they are unusable.
I would agree the cleanliness is low and also the water fountains do not work consistently. I thought it was an issue only in the winter that would be fixed, but some days the water fountains work and some days neither fountains work at all, truly inconvenient. Some of the staff also seem unpleasant. I used to work at the 27th Street one and would get threatened to put my phone in the safe if I kept using it during slow times at the desk, but here the staff sleep leaning on the counter or dont even look up from their phones to greet you.
Generally ok but every now and then there is a terrible stench kind of like sewage. It seems to be coming from the bathrooms but it takes over the entire second floor.
Ive been a sporadic member here for over a year. Recently, the gym has started to go downhill a bit, specifically in the locker rooms. I would estimate around 30% of the lockers in the mens locker rooms are unusable due to broken locking mechanisms (from what appears to be the staff clipping the actual metal tabs instead of the locks). Hot water in the shower is a crapshoot - sometimes it works, sometime youre waiting 3 minutes or more for the ice cold stream to warm up to above freezing. Not acceptable in the middle of winter.Overall the gym itself is decent for a low cost fitness center. Most of the machines work, and I have only had a few issues with the cardio equipment - far less than I had when I was a NYSC member. Some of the TVs on the treadmills no longer work, but there are almost always enough empty treadmills to jump on another.Just please, fix the locker rooms!
I signed up for membership at Planet Fitness Herald Square on June 19th. I went in to cancel on July 17th since I was going back to school and couldnt use my membership anymore. I enjoyed my experience at Planet Fitness and would recommend the gym to my friends. I signed the pin-pad and they told me my last billing date and said that my account had been cancelled. About a week later, I saw that I was charged about $40 by the gym. After calling Planet Fitness, they told me that I did not cancel on time and so I was charged the annual fee. After mentioning that I didnt know when the date to cancel in time was, they suggested that I speak to the store manager. I went to the gym the next day and they told me that the manager was not there and gave me her hours for the next few days. After coming in 2 days later, they told me that the manager was on vacation and to try again next week. I spoke to the assistant manager that day instead, and he told me that my account had never been cancelled. I spoke to the manager the following week and she said that since I never received a receipt for my account cancellation, she couldnt help me. I explained my situation but she said that all she could do was cancel my account now. I was extremely frustrated because I felt like I did nothing wrong but no one was supporting me because the receipt never came in. Although I enjoyed my experience at the gym, I felt that they didnt care about me as a customer. They told me that there was nothing I could do and left it at that. I am a student and cannot afford to pay fees that I dont have to. I went in to cancel and just like the first time, I signed the pin-pad and they told me the last billing date. This time, I received a receipt but I would like a refund if possible since I was charged the annual fee and an additional month of membership because there was a mishap during the first cancellation. If you sign up for this gym, make sure to get a receipt for everything or else additional fees can rack up. I also sent an email to planet fitness but they said to contact the local gym since their office has limited information on members.
Its a Planet Fitness... You get what you expect. Relatively well maintained. My only complaint would be in the locker room. Here maintenance could use improvement. Broken lockers, water always on the sinks, toilets and urinals not kept up. At least half the time, no hot water. This PF is close to several hotels, work, MSG and other mid Town venues.
FREEZING!Planet Fitness as at any other location: affordable and simple. I like they added recently rowing machines. My biggest complaint is temperature. I have never seen so many people wearing long sleeves, hoods or hats at gym. It is 35f outside and they set AC to some ridiculous temperature like 68 or even 66F. If you sweat at gym like me, you are likely get sick from freezing windy air blasting at you in some areas. If you come just to pretend doing something while sitting on your phone that is maybe the place for you.
Planet fitness doesnt give out masks anymore and they dont provide towels for showering either. Either of these would be nice, but the value of price compared to whats available is pretty good so still 4 *
This gym has several qualities that are not positive. It is really too small to handle the crowd size.The locker room is small and cramped. along with small lockers. It is very hard to to get a locker and change into your clothing due to the small space.The free weight area is very small with a line of people waiting to use it. Many of the TVs on the aerobic equipment do not work.There is no where to stretch and there is not enough weight machines to accomme the crowd.The locker room gets dirty. Also I have a concern for security because people hang around the locker area.I have seen police at the club respond to several locker robberies over a period of time.
This locations biggest selling point is the price. You cant find any monthly membership thats cheaper in the city. The equipment is also reliable-- everything works and seems to be in relatively good shape.Beyond that, the gym is not the cleanest, and you might have to go to a second sanitation station to find cleaning solution to wipe down the machines (the spray bottles are often empty). There is normally a wait for weight-lifting equipment during busy hours (5-7pm), but I can usually find a treadmill, elliptical, or bike. I wouldnt expect any help from the staff in regard to training or form.This PF offers a decent experience if you want an affordable gym and basically know what to do during your workouts. This probably isnt the best fit for anyone who wants more guidance or access to advanced equipment.
They never fix or upgrade the lockers!! Most of them are broken and today someone broke and took my lock! When do you guys fix lockers??? Not safe at all!!
I already have a love hate relationship w Planet Fitness. It’s not for serious weightlifting and they say that. I use it when I travel because it’s better than no gym at all. So I was EXTREMELY disappointed with this location, which is basically a glorified fitness room for the adjoining hotel. They have twice as many aerobic machines and half as many strength machines as any other PF. There are only two squat racks, no machine bicep curl I could find, and the weight machines are scattered arbitrarily around three different floors so you have to spend half an hour searching for the machine you want. The little dumbbells with half pound increments aren’t near the large dumbbells. The locker rooms are tiny but the gym is actually one of the more busy locations I’ve been to. Everything about this location is just absolutely senseless.
Great place to work out. Theyve really spaced the area due to the pandemic. I was hesitant to return because I had safety concerns. Theyve addressed those fears and anxieties. Only wish they didnt charge me for the 4 months Ive been gone since theyve reopened.✌
Note that this PF is across the street from the address listed. It is always open and reasonably clean with good hot water in the showers. Even though it is located in a busy part of Manhattan —just uptown from the garment district and Penn Station etc—it seems to have adequate space and gear for a good workout. As always with PF, the price is right!!
Its not the most fancy gym but the price is impossible to beat. I can always get equipment no matter when I go -- afternoon, evening, etc. They keep the place fairly clean too.Every first Monday they have pizza too, which I like. I know that it goes against the whole purpose of working out, but still.
They dont have things like proper yoga mats, or Thera Bands or rollers that most gyms will have on hand. Also the T.V.s are hit and miss....they often dont work. However, the the price is unbeatable and you can still get a good workout. They keep it pretty clean and even at busy times one of the machines that you want is almost always available.
Clean and spacious compared to Manhattan NY one I frequent. Bathroom/lockeroom was immaculate and so much nicer than what Im used to. Multiple machines for everything but pectoral fly/deltoid which seemed odd considering how many duplicates there were of other machines. Overall, nice PF location.
Think ahead when joining a no frills gym. They dont provide towels here. So, that will be sitting, wet, in your gym bag until you get home. Bad if youre a lunchtime exercise person.Also, this place has no bench press in the free weights section.
I dont find people rate realistically considering a premium membership at this gym caps out at a measly $20. Simply put, you get what you pay for. Are there towels? No. Are there a plethora of machines? No. Is it 100% sanitary? No. Is any gym? No. For a $20 gym membership youre lucky to have AC and running water. PF prides itself on being an entry level gym. If for whatever reason the gym is sub par to your expectations, go elsewhere and pay for the amenities you want. Its NYC, you want quality anything, unfortunately, you have to pay for it.
When I started at planet fitness I tried working out on my own with little success. About a year ago I fell and twist my ankle which torn a ligament and damage my right knee. I tried doing my own therapy to heal my ankle in my knee after seen the doctor several times. I end up doing more damage than anything else. I signed up to work with the personal trainer Jasmine and More success with her,than on my own. Im so confident that my ankle and knee is doing much better. I have signed up to do a 5K walk with my job. I love going there the staff is friendly.
PF member for years now, this location by far is my least favorite. Decided to give this one a try with my coworker as guest...so that eventually she would join. Wrong location to try to impress her ( n y s c , crunch kindda girl).6:15 rush hour time i get it...front desk reps had no time to be polite 😣 One token for massage chair, that i had to give back...only when your ready to GO to 4th you will get it back ( buzzed up on elevator kind of gym)Small gym for that location, limited equipment in fact I believe they havent upgraded. Most P F s now have counter on the equipment. Sweat box.I dream of a gender specific gym again, makes no sense males dominate the machines and weights like they do at PF.Equitett gone.
Be careful Ladies, on 34th Street PF in the Tanning Rooms area holes were found on the ceiling and a wall missing from its back. It is easy for anyone to creep up as you undress. While tanning, I heard something in the area and then a guy happens to be outside the booth. This should be fixed and secured. The tanning room shouldnt have holes for others to peek.
Im a member at Planet Fitness and use multiple locations. The bathrooms locker rooms at this location are awful Way to small and specifically the toilet and shower areas are never clean. Ive been coming to this location since the opening. ABSOLUTELY unsanitary in the bathroom. Dirt in the showers that hasnt been cleaned in months.
I wish I read the reviews. This is a hot spot for the homeless who are allowed to sit in the locker room and watch tv all while nodding off. How are honeless people allowed to bring a cart and bags into a gym. Stay away
I been to other gyms where the AC is not cranked up when needed and the smell.... who can really workout hard if they are breathing that in!? PF keeps it just right and always clean!!
I like this planet fitness spot very nice and clean. right in the hot spot of herald square its good if you come in off LIRR or NJ Transit and you want to walk right into the gym and work out.. there is 2 floors of gym space which only complaint being a tother planet fitness locations it is a bit cramped up. i usually go in at 8 am and its pretty empty never been here at night so i cant tell you what hat it is at night.if you want a basic workout this is perfect place to go.
At the end of the day. You get what you pay for. Dont expect nothing fancy just because its on 34th street. Its planet fitness all over again. Except with 70lb dumbbells. Thats it. Ive always gone at night time so I never had to wait for a machine. Everything in this gym is machines. Except the dumbbells part Oh and the barbells. The staff is friendly. The people are also friendly. And yes you will run into someone who can curl the entire building. But that shouldnt discourage you. Everyone needs to get a pump
There are a large variety of equipment you can use. Very spacious. But they let homeless people takeshowers in their lockrooms. Also saw a guy touching himself while staring at other guys in the room
This is the best planet fitness gym Ive been in. I have the black card membership so I have worked out in several locations. 35th St. Is number 1 in my book.
I dont understand why amateurs complain about this gym which suggests your gym goals are not realistic. This gym is for amateurs and quite frankly it is quite fair for its price. You want towels, bubble bath and a rub on your butt-cheek go to a gym that offers that with a price you will pay!! If you are an experienced gym goer (such as myself who came here to train a friend), dont go here because its all machine with very limited free weights section. THIS IS A GREAT AMATEUR GYM!
This is the cleanest Planet Fitness around the city. It is also at a prime location. They clean this place continuously throughout the day and you would never get sick from here. And trust me, gyms are notorious for various bacteria and viruses. I use to go to other PF around the city and this by far is the most hygienic. The crowd is also better comparatively. 5 stars!!
I have no complaints about the staff they always smile and greet me.Its very cramped and they do not supply adequate air conditioning especially in the areas that need it the most. In the summer where it can get to the 90s and above its not just a matter of being uncomfortable its also a health hazard.The 3 stars are for the nice staff.
Its open 24 hours so its good of you want to hit the gym on weekends at night

Dont come here if you like to lift weights. The gym is insanely packed so you effectively have no equipment to work with. Dumbbells only go up to 70 lbs. The equipment is new, but the free weight area is TINY. Do come here if all you do is cardio. There are always a ton of free cardio machines open.
Decent equipment in the facility like most planet fitnesses but this has to be the dirtiest Planet Fitness Ive ever been to. In there more than once to determine how disgusting the bathrooms are.
Convenient location and good range of workout gear. Usually I dont need to wait for equipment to be available. Friendly staff. Note: no kettlebell at this location, but its a full featured gym otherwise.
Ive tried many PF in the city and in Brooklyn and I must say this one is my favorite. They have more and different machines than other PF. Staff has always been nice and it is cleaner than other places I seen. The downside to it. The weight area is extremely tiny. Everyone is working out so close together. Yeah the locker rooms are small too But you make it work and you get used to it. I actually travel a little over an 1hr to come to this particular one.
Convenient location by the subway and LIRR stations. Great place to work out after work but it gets pretty crowded around 4:30PM - it may be the post New Years rush to get fit, Im hoping it dies down around March lol- Equipment is maintained.- Womens locker room gets a bit crowded.- Bathroom seems clean.
Great hours. The staff is stingy with their coins for the amenities almost like fast food places with their sauces tho. But its very clean and very little wait for machines so i tolerate it. Good overall
This convienently located gym offers a good selection of equipment and amenities and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. While consistently busy, the gym is clean and well maintained. Dumbells max out at 70lbs. Amenities include HydroChair, massage chairs, tanning, and red light therapy.
Good location and great service ( not all but most of them ) but the most important what I giving to the gym 5 stars is because of the trainer Jazmine . I signed up to work with her and I am getting more success with her routines . I will suggest a better space for the classes cuz I think the space that we have for the classes is not enough.
The workers dont do a good job cleaning the bathroom and showers they can do better..they dont greet you in a friendly manner when you swipe your card to check in...one person in particular does that.They need more lockers the longer ones.
Woof this is not the best Planet. Im an avid member of the Planet and have been for some time. I wish I wasnt, but you dont get much more bang for your buck. This Planet is tough. Along with the fact that the changing room is comically small, this Planets proximity to Port Authority and Penn Station all but seals the deal as the smelliest and less clean one in the city.I burn the kcals at the planet daily so take my review with a grain of salt.Cheers,-William
Today was my first time in this location and the bathroom was horrible, stinks like feet and is extremely crowded. I went at 7 am and the floor in the room with the wall mirror was so dirty and sticky. I took a picture and I was hoping to upload it. I give two stars because of the machines.

This GYM is the only 24/7 i know of that has TV attached. The only bad thing about this location is that the hydro and massage chair is located few stories above and you gotta take the elevator up there. The process take so long that you end up not using it..
The second floor water dispenser have been without water for 2 weeks and they don’t have an explanation why it’s like that “....

Dirty dirty dirty. I go around 8 to 9 pm and it is sooooo dirty they never clean and the mens bathroom r horrific. No one seems to care at all. The mangers ve attitude and donot care about having a clean gym.
I like exercising here. The machines are clean and the trainers are good at coming up with a plan that addresses my goals. I pay the extra ten bucks for the massage chairs.
Your average planet fitness location, slightly clean, some gym members have no gym etiquette what so ever, also the reason I say slightly clean... This gym location clearly doesnt use a cleaning solution for the sprays that gym members use on the machines to wipe down, their bottles are tinted, but they just fill it up with water, you can tell because it doesnt streak nor smells like anything and dissolves too quickly, if you go to any other planet fitness location youll easily notice this, but besides that, well stocked machines, lots of weights, everything you would need to get a really good work out, and just as a reminder peak times tend to be very early in the morning like 7 to 10am then it transitions back around 6 to 8pm, but this is pretty much what you can expect from a $10 gymJust as an advisory the cleanliness of this gym has gone downhill in the span of 2 years which is the amount of time Ive been going to this location.just as a point of constructive feedback for you planet fitness herald square if you want to compete in an area with so much traffic you need to make sure your machines and equipment are able to be kept clean dont half ass it.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Update 7/6/2018 on this locations cleanlinessConfirmation of this locations use of water on customer cleaning bottles, routinely youll notice that atleast once or twice per day usually before peak times an employee walks around with a large cleaning rag, and the actual cleaning solution that planet fitness locations are supposed to use, its a dark purple scented solution that he or she uses to clean both the machines and the seats on the machine vs the customer bottles only being filled with water, as much as this locations half asses their cleanliness its tough to deny the build up of sweat and bacteria that is on their seats due to the incosistency in their standards and how frequently they have someone actually clean their machines----------------------------------------------------------------------------------My previous review was 5 stars 2 years ago
No hot water... Consistently... I joined about a month ago (Aug 2018) and so many times we dont have hot water!!! Very upsetting. I would like to cancel my membership and be fully refunded as THEY ARE BREACHING THE CONTRACT!
10 bucks a month and free pizza once a month? Whats not to like? This is actually a brand new location so the equipment is all brand new. Not a lot of free weights here but great if you just want to do cardio or machines.
The locker rooms and bathrooms could be a bit cleaner. The staff is nice but the cleanliness from the entrance down stairs to upstairs need some work.
After 3 months of working with Jasmine the Trainer at Plant Fitness on 35th street in Manhattan. Today I finished my 5k run/work and ran the last mile proudly. I will continue going to the gym and workout with her. She is amazing at what she does. 😊😊😊😊

Much more variety of equipment than the average P.F... one downfall: womens bathroom was disgusting, full of water on the floor, and lacked sufficient toilet paper. Was uncomfortable.
One of the most affordable gyms in NYC, but, with that you get excess crowd and between 5-8 PM, you’ve got to wait for equipment with less elbow room.
It has allot of machinery to excersize with. All good with Trainers at PF. Total body enhancement is amazing. Beauty Angel stuff!!! So many reasons to love Planet Fitness...

Apparently this is a homeless shelter with workout equipment...can we please do something about the creepy guys just hanging out in the changing room? Id like a little privacy, theres always 2 or 3 guys just in there watching tv? Why?
This is my favorite location for Planet Fitness. Its huge! 3 floors. And something about i just like better than 14 street. I think theres no smell at all!
So basically I went to the gym on January 7,2019 at 12:00am to do my work outs and what I noticed is that the men’s bathroom smelled like something died and there is no hot water in the showers.... I don’t recommend this Planet Fitness because the staff don’t even clean the place at night and it’s disgusting.
Pretty solid. Could fix the lockers though.

This is worse location Ive ever been to. Its Hot to many people the staff are always on cell phones not on top of things .people put their clothes in locker with no locks unfair to those that do bathrooms are dirty.
I just been robbed inside these gym, i m tourist, i left my back in front of me, i was watching the screen in the elipitic machine than i ralease that my bag it wasent there, the cleaning lady took it and take it to the front desk, i went to look for my bag, they giveme the bag, i checked the wallet and my money was gone, almost $300

They shoukd educate the beginners on how to circuit train and inform beginners that the yellow machines are for circuit training. They dont know this and it postpones peoples workouts. I tried to explai. it to a rookie and she thought I was bullying her off the machines.
The machine and weights are fine but the employees are horrendous, just watch a worker not bother cleaning up a bathroom stall, knowing well enough there was urine on the seats, bad enough I have to clean it up myself in order to use the restroom

Its a decent place to work out but the locker room is too small for such a busy location (34st). Ive actually left and not worked out because of that.
Major security issues at the gym. Ask people in the locker room, youll find out that so many have been robbed. The manager just kept putting her hand up and saying Just a minute when i asked for help.
The best and cleanest gym consistently especially for the price. They have the friendliest gym staff in NYC.

Slightly rundown & small. I prefer the Canal St. branch, where its bigger & has more equipments.
You get what you pay for. The facility is very crowded and the customer service isn’t great but it’s cheap for a gym in the city.
Has everything I need. Its clean, the people are pretty nice anf its rarely uncomfortably packed with people.
Owners: Please provide some space for people who want to exercise on mats. Please take of that machine from the corner by staircase, you can fit it somewhere else, that was the only corner where we could place a mat.
Clean gym and if youre visiting east Harlem my friend who I took said its one of the better ones they visited

2021-11-16If you travel, hands down their Black Card level, which allows use of all the Planet Fitness properties is worth it. This location is conveniently located very close to the train station so if you’re staying in the area it’s a great choice. Saw some comments on the lack of cleanliness, but come on, it’s a gym where you workout and sweat. I thought it was clean so no complaints there. It’s two floors and wasn’t very crowded. One item to note, for the free weights they only went to 65lbs. Not a big deal for many but something to be aware of. Solid choice for a workout.

2022-05-29Not sure why there are so many negative reviews. Its like any other planet fitness. Clean. Friendly staff. You get what you pay for and even more. Its not Equinox so cant expect the same amenities but its a decent place for a good workout while saving a few bucks in NYC. All I wanted was a good workout in a less crowded, safe place and this place addressed the needs. Also the gym is not so crowded and there were many machines available which was nice. Bought a membership and it feels good!

2022-01-09Very solid gym in a very convenient location. Each staff I have encountered is friendly and very open to assisting with any questions. Cleanliness can be improved, but ultimately I would not consider this place to be disgusting... it is a gym after all. I thoroughly appreciate that this branch is truly 24/7 as I sometimes work odd hours and this prevents me from creating any excuse about not being able to go in for quick work out.

2022-02-18I feel its kind of dirty. the mens locker room definitely needs more benches the lockers could be renewed they look terrible. very small shower area staring right into the mens toilet stalls.The gym floor was dirty with debris/paper was all over the place. Saw some dust bunnys rolling on the floor between some machines.Didnt see any employees cleaning for COVID like they advertise.However, there were paper towels and spray cleaner to use after you use equipment, but no one was doing it.

2022-04-22Im going for cardio so gym wise it works for me but my main issue is most the big lockers were clipped and not fixed so you cant put a lock on them which Is an inconvenience because I go early in the morning and then go to work and need the space . The 2nd thing is the showers are disgusting. There was homeless guy brushing his teeth over the shower and spitting in the shower . I guess he was trying to be thoughtful and brush at the sink but it was just nasty and its obvious a few homeless people have memberships just for the shower purposes which makes it feel more like a shelter then a gym . So I never plan on using the shower and PLEASE FIX THEM BIG LOCKERS besides that the staff seems cool and I just go there run the treadmill for an hr and leave.

I know no one like working but its your job , so try and be respectful . I was already going to cancel my membership but he made everything so much harder for me that I am definitely canceling my membership now . id rather pay more at a gym that employees Better people.

2022-02-15The temperature is too high in this place and the air is stagnant and suffocating. It is not an healthy environment to work out in because you are already sweating the minute you walk in. This morning I went there just to walk out because I knew that there was no way that I could feel comfortable working out in such heat. It is called a gym not a sauna. I am in the healthcare field so I know that working out in this condition produces nothing but germs and bacteria, leaving me with the imagination of the bacteria thats floating around in the air from people breathing and sweating. Put on top of that, the staff are not very friendly. They dont even give you the slightest acknowledgement when you walk in. They dont say good morning. I have worked out there about 2 times and mentioned to staff how uncomfortable it is to work out in such heat. Maybe they dont take into consideration the conditions that are healthy and comfortable to work out in. Maybe the staff adjust the temperatures for their comfort. The first planet fitness I have ever gone to with this experience.

2022-03-14After leaving Diamond kuts barbershop and recieving a shape up from my barber Joey Awesome. I went to this planet fitness since a few blocks away.Its all good, basic overall gym equipment to get in your regular routine. Clean and staff has always been friendly, when Im in the area I definitely stop in.

2022-03-02Great gym, easy commute. Certain equipments need an upgrade. The rods are missing.... Large room for runners .. need more dumbbells... Above 70 pounds..

2022-06-21Cardio equipment is on the upper level and is always so hot!! Very uncomfortable to work out in. Downstairs with the weight machines is cool and comfortable, cardio equipment is NOT. The membership is cheap and it shows unfortunately.
