We had a reservation and still had to wait in the shop... although it wasnt full. So my guess : its a trick to sell goodies. Our waiter was funny and kind. He took our order fast which was great cause we were hungry and so was our toddler. But we had to wait a long time for the food. Had a citrus kale salad with chicken it was delicious and I guess worth the wait. At the table next to us they had a huge ice cream, see pictures... reasonably priced and nice service.
Very cool place. My family and I dined here on out last full day while on vacation. We ate.a late lunch, so we got there around 3 PM and they weren’t that busy.We got seated fairly quickly and our server was very prompt in coming to our table. We all ordered “The Big Bacon” burger. We all thought it was delicious! We didn’t spend any time looking at the movie memorabilia, as we had other things to attend after eating, but the items I did see were interesting. We have no Planet Hollywood near our home, and figured this may be our only chance to dine in one. I’m glad we did!
Great service! I went here to celebrate a birthday it was our first time there. The place was spacious and not a lot of clients which was great for us. The food was delicious my friend loved it. We also ordered a brownie sundae that was so huge we all four ate from it i just loved everything. The decor of the place is great.
Had the omg burger of youve never been there this is something the cook whips up so its always changing this one was hamburger with pepper jack cheese ranch dressing and bacon and it was awesome throw in a bunch of Hollywood memorabilia and you have a great place to have dinner wasnt crowded easy to find great food and great service highly recommended enjoy
Love the atmosphere and vibe at Planet Hollywood. You have classic memorabilia as well as during holidays they incorporate special themed pieces to the decor. Our service was prompt and friendly. The staff was knowledgable of the drink and food menus. Our food came out hot and with enough time in between to make room. The portions were generous and filling. If you like mixed drinks they have some of the best plus you can opt for a souvenir glass. They also have a great gift store to check out while you wait or before you leave.
It was fast and the food was delicious but when I got my check my food was $25 and I paid $40 and gave back to him and he came back with my change and I only got like $5 back and I told him that he needed to give me $10 dollars back and he looked at me like an idiot, looked at the ticket and said ohhhh I am very sorry. So I really didnt mind it much but just make sure you get the right amount of change back.
This location had a long line outside the doors and it definitely took a long time to get in, but the food was definitely delicious and made the wait definitely worth it. The service was pretty speedy and the servers were kind, respectful, and responsive. The decor of the restaurant was well decorated and represented the theme very well. This restaurant is definitely worth visiting.
Very expensive, which is to be expected considering the location. Service was a quick and the staff were all friendly, the food tasted great and there was so much of it! My girlfriend ordered a chilli as a starter, and ended up with a full plate of con carne with 3 slices of a garlic bread! I had wings as a starter with hot buffalo sauce, messy but tasty, and then a lovely chicken in lemon sauce with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Sadly we had no room for desert. The atmosphere inside was great, and very appealing if you are into movies. Overall a very enjoyable experience.
To be honest, I feel that Planet Hollywood is by far one of the most famous places I have ever been to. Plus, it has a lot of memorabilia relating to Hollywood itself, like a typical museum, combined with a restaurant and a bar. I would highly recommend this place to anyone I know, like a family relative or a friend, if they have the chance to get to NYC. Just an interesting suggestion Id simply come up with.
What kind of menu is this? Laminated and ratty with literally 4 options, looking like a kid’s menu, and my food (chicken, Mac & Cheese) was terrible, as was our dessert (brownie with whipped cream, which was even more limited than the entree because we had no dessert options).
Delicious American-themed fun food in casual dining atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and helpful. You can make reservations earlier in the day and return later. A little loud inside, but then youre in Times Square. Andre is an excellent maitre d out front and I had Kyle as a friendly and helpful server inside.
It was alright. Insanely expensive but it is times square New York I suppose. Ate there in a hurry to get dinner one night. In hindsight we should have gone to somewhere authentic or better for the process we paid. Cost 125 bucks for 2 people to eat dinner with one margarita. Could have had some delicious cuisine somewhere better in NYC I can guarentee that.
Whenever I go into a Planet Hollywood, I am like a kid in a candy store. Im a HUGE movie buff, so seeing all the props and costumes from famous movies was right up my alley! The food was your typical diner food, so not much to say there. The only downside for me is theres no Planet Hollywood near me! My favorite location was the one in Rome where we got to see some of the props from gangster movies. The location in Orlando was fantastic too and I really enjoyed seeing both the bike from ET and one of Leonardo Di Caprios costumes from Titanic!
Planet Hollywood has an amazing atmosphere. It’s a great place for family’s, couples, or just about whoever. You can bring your kids and have a great time or just come in with a few friends for drinks and have a great time. The food was great with a lot of options to choose from. It also was not too pricey.
Our waitress was super rude once she realized we only wanted to order off the shake menu (mind you, a majority of the shakes are the same price as a dinner). She rolled her eyes at us and snatched the menus away before we could even finish. We had to ask for the menu back and she continued to act very annoyed. Once we got our shakes, she checked up on us once (about twenty minutes after we had been drinking them). Before we could respond she was already walking away. We waited another fifteen minutes for her to walk by and flagged her down for our check. When we asked for sperate checks she rolled her eyes again and stormed away. I understand we were not her biggest meal of the day, but I always too very well (especially if I order less food, or. Just dessert) but her attitude was completely uncalled for and the shakes werent even very good. They were cute but not flavorful at all. Didnt taste like strawberry or chocolate at all. Not worth the money or attitude. Wont be returning or recommending. Go to the hard Rock Cafe instead. They are way nicer and the food is more reasonably priced and the desserts taste even better!
Four main points to the experience measured out of 5.Atmosphere - 3While the idea behind the restaurant is a good one, the props and costumes providing a strong feel of nostalgia. Overall it comes across a little outdated, bordering tacky.Service - 5All staff we dealt with were incredibly friendly, giving fantastic advise for things to do in the city. Service was fast and efficient without rushing. Overall, brilliant!Food - 4Tasty, plenty, free drink refills. Not Michelin star but you could definitely do a lot worse!Cost - 4Cheapest lunch of our little holiday, four people very well fed for well under a hundred dollars. Plenty of bang for your buck!Overall 4/5, Ill be back
I always dread having to eat there. Everyplace is ridiculously busy and with a large group and two toddlers, waiting would not be fun! I was so surprised that you can make reservations for Planet Hollywood in the middle of time square! After reading the reviews on here, we made our reservation. Once we arrived we took the elevator upstairs to the dining area and told the hostess we had a reservation. She immediately had someone prepare our table while we looked around in the gift shop. Within minutes, we were seated and asked for our beverage order. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. After placing our food order, I expected to wait for some time for our food to arrive because it was so busy but we didnt have to wait long at all! The food was very good, and everyone in our party was pleased. It is a very fun environment to dine. We will definitely return!
Not bad , definitely great for kids and Excellent super fast service. My salmon was over cooked but had a good taste to it. They could use some more gluten free options like gluten free bread for burgers and they have a pretty spacious dining room and party room. Lots of things to look at here too.
One word thoroughly describes this place and that is LOUD. But I knew going into this place that that is what is designed for and so this review is based on the food and service despite the loud, gaudiness of the place.Service: very good.Food: I ordered the broccoli chicken penne with basil cream sauce. The sauce was delicious as was the chicken. My 13 year old ordered a personal size pizza, which was very large for personal size and looked good.
Great place, love the atmosphere. Great music, and always love to see all the Hollywood memorabilia. And the slide shows during dinner were excellent to put each piece into context. Made it a more personable experience. Would have liked to see more themed drinks, and maybe more variety in terms of food options. The menu was sort of lacking in those areas. But the burger and salad that we ordered were good.
Went here for dinner while on a trip with my school choir and I absolutely loved it!! The inside is so welcoming and cute. Its very colorful and hip. They play relevant/popular music that is hard to resist singing along to. Only negative is the amount of stairs. They tire you out before you get to your table but then again I eat more and drink more when tired.
This restaurant was designed with excellent quality. There is even stuff to look at about Hollywood Films and stuff actors and actress wore while acting and a little bit to read so the food was worth the expensive price. This restaurant is like a little museum to look around while waiting for your food. The young waitress made food we ordered and got it right. I got a hamburger and french fries. The ceiling was even designed with excellent quality.
The only reason why I dont give it 5 stars is that for the amount of food on the menu is not a lot, so to me its overpriced. The other reason is because the waitress was just too aggressive, my meal had just been delivered by the server -- yes, there were 2 different people -- and I had just picked up my fork and havent even put it in the food when the waitress shows up & asks if the food is good.
Waited almost half an hour to be seated even though we had a reservation. Host was rude and arrogant, trying to give off a vibe of trendiness and importance. We were seated right by the kitchen, where garbage was dropped on me as staff walked by, oblivious patrons bumped into my chair running to the gift shop or whatever, so that was not fun. No one came over to our table for at least 15 minutes after we were seated. Our waitress, Mary, was very nice and did the best she could. There just wasnt enough staff for the crowd. My drink was one of the worst Ive ever had, and we had no condiments on the table. I had to borrow ketchup from other diners whod just arrived so my daughter could eat her appetizer. And my sandwich and fries were ice cold, but my daughters food was warm, so mine was just sitting there waiting for hers to be ready. My expectations were not high, but it was disappointing nonetheless. A hundred plus dollars later, I couldnt get out of there fast enough. Gets 2 stars in stead of 1 because my daughter enjoyed her food, and because our waitress and one other employee were nice and friendly.
The service here was not good at all. The wait staff as well as the manager was not willing to help when a problem arose. I went with a group of approximately 50 and everything was prepaid with a set menu to select from. It seemed like once they received their payment they didnt feel like they had to uphold their end of the deal. The food didnt taste freshly cooked. The salad tasted stale. This was not a good decision to come here at all. I have been to Planet Hollywood in various states and other countries and this by far has been the first one that I didnt like. This was the worse food, staff and service. This location may be good for individuals or small groups, but for large ones, I would pass.
Planet Hollywood is located just around the corner from Times Square and is very convenient and easy to get to. I went on their website and booked a reservation very easily and quickly. When we got there, we had to go upstairs to get to the restaurant itself. Once up there we checked in at the reservations booth and they told us it would be just one moment. While waiting the guy at the gift shop, Michael, began to tell us all about all of the Hollywood props and memorabilia around the restaurant! We were so impressed and enjoyed talking with Michael that the gal seating us waited patiently for us to finish talking with him.The good was pretty great. Decently priced for a restaurant in Times Square. Our waiter was a little inattentive but all in all not bad. I ordered the blackened chicken pasta, my husband had the chicken Parmesan, and my daughter had the kids chicken fingers and it was all delicious. We would definitely eat here again next time we come back to the city. The Hollywood memorabilia was pretty awesome too!
Service is really bad. But the food is good. We ordered two sandwiches, one salad and one burger. At first we got 4 burgers. After saying that to the waiter, he ordered a salad and it arrived when the 3 others had finished. Wouldnt go again. But the waiters are friendly and the food is good.
Im honestly surprised they are still in business. The place was practically empty by 9pm on a Saturday night! This place is just not what it use to be. Our food was disappointing, service was poor, the hostess was having inappropriate conversations with other workers and the bathrooms need doors! The odor was filling the restaurant! Only thing interesting were all of the memorabilia hanging and the creative milkshakes (tasted pretty good).
Planet Hollywood is a gimmicky place with mediocre food. The restaurant is in a very convenient location in the theatre district. Its a place where you, if you dont like to experiment with a new place and new food, can find typical and decent food. The atmosphere is quite nice. The place is very large and has interesting and colorful decorations. The seating is comfortable. Service is also decent but not great. With a large downtown restaurant you can expect it to be full and busy and the service a bit lacking because of it. The price of food is also what you can expect from the large downtown chain restaurant - about $60 for 2 people and in NYC, you have to pay for drink refills. Overall, not a bad place to eat, but, once youve been there you dont feel the need to go again.
Our waiter, I think his name was Richard, he was awesome, attentive and funny as well! The desserts looked amazing, I was eye-balling our neighbors table because they had the most AMAZING LOOKING MILKSHAKES! Sadly, I was too full to enjoy one myself! I would definitely come back here!
To be quite honest, me and my party of 5 hated this place. To start, we had reservations at 7:30. The people made us wait a good 5 minutes, but as i looked around about 3/4 of the tables were empty. I didn’t judge at first. Yet, it took 50 minutes to have our food come out. Our waiter was barely around, he came a good 3 times, and gave a bit of an attitude every time we called him over, just asking for simple things such as water or utensils. After waiting until 8:20, we got our food. Not going to sugar coat this, but it was not appetizing at all. Half of us ordered the personal pizza, and it tasted raw, along with the cheese tasting absolutely fake and uncooked. The other 2 ordered certain burgers, and although i did not taste them, they complained how it tasted off and as-well, just not appetizing. We got a appetizer of fries around 8, because we were all a bit hangry, but the appetizer came after our food, aswell as the nachos tasting like literal salt water. I kid you not, these nachos were coated in salt, a also being cold. The prices are extremely overpriced, and the food wasn’t even a quality buy. The one “good” factor of this place is the decor, as it is filled with hollywood themed items and is a bit of an eyesore for the older movie fanatics, but really nothing new. All in all, I would not recommend this place at all, unless you’re simply coming for the decor and possibly a light meal. Other than that, It is a total “No” from me and my friends.
It’s my first time in New York as I surprised my girlfriend for her 21st, we went to planet Hollywood for dinner the place was well presented. We had a warm welcome when we arrived! We was served by TJ who was outstanding on recommending food and knowledge about New York! The food was amazing! Very affordable prices! Would highly recommend this place! And the service we revived! Will definitely go there on our next visitP.S good job to everyone there! I know it’s not always nicest place to work as customers moaning all the time and people not giving positive vibes about place, where planet Hollywood needs recognition!-Happy customer
For my first time experience I would say it wasnt a good one. Now heres why. Our server approached our table with one question that stood out to us during our entire dinner experience where are you guys from? From here, NYC, we told him but now we question if that response made our entire dinner experience the way it was. Our order was taken and was out within a few minutes except for my sons order. So we then tried to catch the servers attention but he did not have any eye contact with us at all we had to wave him down for him to come to our table. He then went back and forth telling us we never placed my sons order to begin with showing me his notepad. As a server the customer is always right. Do not go back and forth just admit that someone was wrong and the right thing to do is get the order out as quickly as possible. Our water at the table was never refilled as we had to ask the server himself for more water, something we should not have to do it should already be done. Overall experience one star.
With all honesty our experience here was not very pleasant at all. The sodas were completely flat and the food did not seem fresh, tasted as if microwaved. The waiter had a little attitude didnt seem like she wanted to work anymore. Very very pricey (well it is NY)! The props in the restaurant were really cool and the host was really nice and informative on the props. It was easy to get to since we live in NJ. I wouldnt recommend any of my friends or family members to come there.
Spent a weekend in NY with children and after a day of walking in the cold, we were hungry and looking for a kid friendly place for a bite to eat. We decided Planet Hollywood would be fun for the kids. Found the atmosphere to be too noisy, especially the music. The kids werent overly interested in any of the decor. The menu could of had more variety, a bit disappointing to me. Nothing really to rave home about here.
This tasted not as good as I expected. I ordered a Asian salad, burger, and 2 pepperoni pizzas. The worst was the salad. It was bland. Then the burger. Then the pizza. The best thing was the fries that can with the burger. The restaurant was not as I expected. I heard it was going to look WAY differently. The staff was kind though.
Love this hotel and staying there every year. Service is great and rooms are great too. Location could not be any better- right on the center of the strip. Also has internal food chains restaurants inside the hotel. Highly recommended- already booked my next staying for this upcoming January! Looking forward to be there again!
Really great service. My waiter was very personable. I loved the decor and all the movie decor. The food was very great as well. My only problem was being seated. The person who seated us gave us attitude and wasn’t very friendly. That’s why I didn’t give 5 stars but other than that it was great.
Great tourist spot. They take your pic at the table and give you a post card of your visit which is fun. Typical American menu but the deep fried lasagna is pretty unique. You can make reservations easily on line which I would def recommend. The main negative is our waitress was really rushing us out - we werent even done eating!
So I didnt eat here because I was meeting up with family whom were in town and the place is definitely a location for tourists. Personally, I would visit again and eat because the food did look delicious. My older brother had a steak which looked delicious and he liked it but my sister-in-law was not a fan of her burger. Towards the end, a huge ice cream brownie cake was ordered to celebrate a birthday and it was delicious. They also shouted happy birthday instead of singing it which is nice for people who do not like the attention. There does seem to be an excessive wait time and I went on a Wednesday afternoon - cant imagine what the weekend looks like here.
The Bar Room is so so so beautiful and the people there make you feel right at home, no matter what you’re there for. Including one of the employees, Anna, who goes above and beyond to make sure you’re perking up with a good smile and laugh. Drinks, meals and good company- oh my. If it seems too good to be true, it’s because the rumors are true- go to this bar always. I know I am.
Came here after seeing the Christmas spectacular. There was 11 of us. Service was horrible. I had to ask to clean our table after we ate. Never received appetizer plates. Was overcharged for items I had not ordered or ordered, but never received. Waiter could not be found. They don’t know what a bus boy or food runner is. When having asked to clean my table, bus boy did one side and other bus boy ignored the request.
This restaurant was close to the hotel we stayed in, so we went there and ate there twice now. I have to say, the food is good. Not brilliant, but good anyways- its a worthy dinner. But thats not why i liked it; This is very unique and has AWESOME models of Hollywood stuff and fancy paintings on the walls! But what i loved most was the life size, never before seen unique model of Arnold Schwarzenegger in terminator 2!! I loved it, and so authentic that it itself earnt the restaurant a star!
The chicken tasted weird, our food was barely warm when we got it, and the Mac and cheese with chicken tasted old and horrible. There was a fruit seed in one of the cups at our table, the silver wear was dirty, and the service here is not good, our waiter was rude to us.
Jake is THE BEST! Great concept for the restaurant. I had the mac n cheese it was good minus the chicken. I wasnt a fan of the chicken at all, it kind of tasted old. My boyfriend had the steak fajitas and they were very good, with a blue moon. Priced fairly high but on time square in NYC. Great spot, amazing customer service.
Went here on the 14th Aug, once there we was told we had to wait for a table even though there were only 5 tables taken, you can clearly see the restaurant from the waiting area, when we got a table we was taken to it but had to dodge the buckets on the floor collecting water from a leaky roof, not good for a restaurant really, once sat at the table we had to wait a good 10 minutes for my order to be taken as the staff were busy chatting to each other. Once we got our food it was delicious, however once the last bit went in my mouth my plate was taken, my son was still eating his food, the same happened once he placed the last bit of his pizza in his mouth, we didnt understand as the restaurant was empty why try to hurry us out, we soon found out why as our servers shift was up and he wanted his tip before he went! The menu was so poor, needs to be more choices!
Food was ok, not a great variety... drinks... billed for glasses we didnt ask for and as soon as we questioned this the servers attitude changed greatly! No drink sizes are stipulated on the menu so just make sure you check your bill. Place was rather tatty and tired! Dessert menu ... could do with some more choice... not everyone wants a sundae!
Went with group of 4 on Saturday night around 10:30pm. Place was empty. Music was extremely loud to a point that we couldnt hear eachother talk. Waiter was friendly and pretty attentive, but brought me the same sides (mashed potatoes and fries, who the hell wants two servings of potatoes with steak?) with my filet, when I made it clear on two separate encounters that I wanted vegetables. Im not one to usually send food back even when its wrong, so I just took the L and left my unwanted side to waste. Prices are definitely Hollywood as just our small group of 4 was about $250 before tip after our meals and a few drinks. You cant hang out here without the tab getting extremely high (although I havent tried happy hour), so be sure to take in cocktails at a less visually fancy spot. In the beginning as we were seated I asked the waiter discreetly if they do anything for birthdays, to which he replied that if we buy a dessert hell try to set something up. We never bought a dessert out of the 4 of us, as the food is still superb with decent portions, and we were all full by the time dessert would have been ordered. So nothing even slightly special was made to accommodate our birthday guest. Overall: great food, decent service. But high prices and lack of care for adult birthdays, and the audacity to insinuate us having to purchase a dessert for them to even consider caring, along with a bit of confusion on how to get to the dining area, is why I give 3 stars. Thats generous based off this sole experience. Maybe if we attended on multiple occasions our experience would be generally better. Lets hope its not busy though, as we went when it was empty.
Took my niece for her birthday. In online reservations, upon arrival, and after being seated after watching staff sing to 2 other customers at two different tables (both adults) I reminded them 3 times and NEVER did anyone come to sing to my 10 year old niece. Poor service. Very disappointed. Never go there again. My money and patronage are important and expect quality service.
I’ve been in the restaurant business for 25 years; so I have seen it all. I dined at Planet Hollywood NYC with my wife; daughter and a guest a couple of days ago. We had the worst experience ever!!! Our server Maritza was plain rude with an attitude. We asked for extra lime for my guest 3 times before she remembered; and when she brought it; it was on a plastic lid (no plate). Every time we needed something; we had to ask twice or three times before she remembers. When she brought the check; she took the liberty to add 18% gratuity although this was a party of 4. I did not want to complain to the manager in front of my guest; so after I went back to my hotel; I called the restaurant so I could speak to a manager and share my experience. The host took my info and told me the manager was busy but he will call me back as soon as possible. I never herd back from anyone.I will never go there again.
We a group of 30 which we had called informed them and made a reservation. We were not seat together very well. We also explained we had several people who must eat gluten free. We placed orders and one gluten free person was served a gluten bun. When they were called to the table and told they did another bun with no apology or reimbursement at all .
I went for lunch and I was seated quickly. It wasn’t busy, maybe 4 other tables were there when we arrived (party of 4). A group of 4 was seated 10 minutes after us and we still were not spoken to. Multiple waitresses walked by and smiled at my sister, but none asked if we were taken care of. After more than 30 minutes of waiting to even be asked what we wanted to drink, we were about to leave. My sisters blood sugar dropped, (she has hypoglycemia) so I quickly found the hostess to ask for a soda for a quick fix. She was wonderful about it, and got us a soda. Only when I stood up to get the hostess did a waitress take notice that we weren’t taken care of. I don’t care what excuse they had, but the other table seated after us got their drinks and food before we were spoken to, and the waitresses noticed us yet chose to not figure out what was going on. To “fix” the problem, they offered a “complimentary” photo. We declined, as my sister was feeling like she was going to pass out and throw up with tears streaming down her face. There was no discount given, not even the soda was given for free. Other than the hostess, we were very disappointed with our experience and there is no reason we should have been ignored for that long.
Worth the trip to see their decor and movie memorabilia. Usually a wait for a table but not a long wait. The staffs are friendly and helpful. Also usually see tourist go in most. Overall great concept and experience to see this place and eat here too. Food was good and yummy.
Our server was great but the food came out really cold. We had to be moved twice because there wasnt enough room with the table they put us at, and then they moved us to a place right at the back of the restaurant where it was freezing. It was meant to be a nice Christmas dinner but it was very chaotic and rushed. My sister also thinks it would be nice if there was more options for the children.
The menu is so limited here. Only thing worth coming here for was the birthday ice cream that came in a huge martini glass and fully loaded with brownies, hot fudge and toppings. But the limited menu is pricey for the quality of food. Its more of a tourist trap type restaurant. You come for the atmosphere, rather than the food. We had a party of 8 and we were super cramped, because the stuck us all in a booth, and the tables were all so close together, that every movement the person behind me, at another table, i would get my chair shoved pressing me against my table. It was super uncomfortable.
I was skeptical of eating here based on the reviews, but my wife who has never been here wanted to try it out, so we did. I ordered a burger as did my wife. I ordered mine rare like I always do and my wife ordered hers medium. Mine came out as rare as rare could be. My wifes was her perfect medium she requested. All food including appetizers were spot on. With price, its NY......prices are going to be a bit higher. Let me put this out there for everyone......if your food isnt what you wanted or expected, speak with management. You are paying for a service and it should be what you want. Im from here originally and I have an attitude when needed. Just remember that. Many of these places are customer service oriented and will do what is needed to make it right. Give the place a shot and enjoy the food. Good job Planet Hollywood
My daughters and I spent Mothers Day, 2018 here and it was the most interesting restaurant so far that weve been to. All of the oohs & aahs took up 3 quarters of the evening. So much memorabilia, pictures, and statues from classic movies and shows. We loved it all. The food was pretty good but the desert was even better.
Limited vegan option. Ordered the veggie burger only to receive a mushy, cold veggie patty on a bun with lettuce and tomato on the side. The fries were dry and not tasty at all and considering I asked for a side of broccoli but got the dry fries really made the dining experience worse.. The prices compared to the food quality was ridiculous. If there was a negative rating it would be a -10.
It’s an interesting spot to say the least. You can walk around and see all of these cool costumes and props from famous Hollywood movies. There’s even a little spot to take pictures. The service here is great as everyone is super kind. There’s even a photographer that runs around to each table (except he never came to mine!) and takes pictures. The food is good, just very overpriced. I ordered chicken tenders for an appetizer and it was literally four pieces for like 8 or 9 bucks. And for anyone with allergies, DOUBLE CHECK WITH THE WAITERS BEFORE YOU ORDER. I nearly ordered a desert with peanuts, so I was slightly annoyed when the menu did not specify any nuts in the desert.Anywho, great place to see some interesting stuff, but you’ve gotta pile on the cash if you want to eat.
Located in Times Square, of course it is a touristy spot, very overpriced (for 3 people with food and 4 specialty drinks we paid $160 before tip) and pretty noisy. Dont expect to have an intimate conversation here. The food is pretty good, but standard fare for most chains. Also, definitely take the elevator up. Once you start the stairs, youre committed... And its 2 floors worth!
Food is extremely overpriced for the quality and portion. I had the chef special burger, waitress asked me how I want it cooked and said medium rare... burger came in hard as a rock and the fries were ice cold. Didn’t get our drinks refilled even once... NOT ONCE! We couldn’t even ask our waitress because she never even made eye contact for us to signal her down. I did like the layout but honestly could have got a better burger down the block from McDonald’s. This place had so much potential but I never plan on coming back here, I don’t even care about the price tag I just wanted a normally cooked burger for goodness sake.
You probably know what to expect, but I had to try. Food is nothing special, but ok. I had one of the burgers with fries. It was a bit strange to enter, but when you get inside after having climbed some stairs (they have an elevator, but the line was too long), you see that it is a really big place with lots of interesting decorations. If you have not been, you should probably try.
Love this place! Good food and service, very friendly and fun. Last time I went here to celebrate my birthday and it seemed like just about every other table had someone celebrating to, so I guess its a good place for that. If I am going to be in Times Square area this is always my top choice for dinner.
I gave it 3 stars, only because of the nostalgia. Visited with a very large school group and it was pretty clear to see that with these kind of groups, everything is cut & dry... copy and paste... totally fine with the limited menu, but we didnt have a set server who could assist us with condiments and such. I had to ask for utensils 3 times! Just Disappointing.
Great service and nice food. We has a school trip pre-booked for around 50 of us Oct 2018 and the food and service was great. Had been to Hard Rock Cafe the night before which was shockingly poor in food and service so I was pleasantly surprised at Planet Hollywood. Also had fun movie memorabilia dotted around the restaurant; would recommend a visit!
So, my daughter and I, we live in Cape Coral Fl, we love to go Planet Hollywood Restaurant in Orlando because we always have an amazing experience. We enjoy it so much, the staff is always very nice and they make our visit wonderful. For the first time I prepared a trip to NYC to celebrate New Years, my daughter’s birthday, and my daughter’s high school graduation. It was like the perfect time to take her and give her a surprise because she always tells me “Mom I would love to go to see balldrop for NYE”, so then I see we can be more confortable if you just reserve a table in a restaurant. It was perfect when I saw that our favorite restaurant was an option, but unfortunately IT WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE THAT WE’VE HAD😢. I payed almost $700 to get a table, but nobody ever showed up to our table. The family that was in the next table felt sorry for us, and asked to get a server around 11:20 pm when it was definitely too late, to try and help us, because I tried to call the server but everyone just completely ignored me. What a horrible experience. They tried to help us when it was too late, I don’t think this is fair to happen in a day that everyone wants to celebrate and be with your love-ones. It’s not fair at all because we are not rich people, this was a big effort for me, and I am very very disappointed. Never going to comeback and I hope this never happens to someone else!
Came here on a school trip, most of us Had chicken tenders and we all had the same reaction; all tasted bland and it was cold like it had just been unfrozen. Waiter was supposed to give us unlimited drink but only came once to refill, orders got mixed up so people had to wait an extra 20 minutes for food when we were still eating. Maybe if they spent as much money on the food as they did decorations then they’d actually get good reviews.Overall very disappointing!
Service was very slow, waiter hardly ever came back to the table, burger buns had some weird black stuff growing on it, burger was undercooked and dry (not sure how). They did end up covering the meal for all the trouble but not what I expect from a PH. The one in Orlando was amazing, this one was not and didnt even have the same food.
Not much items on the menu. Friendly staff. One time place. Expected more regarding ambience. The biggest issue is billing. They charged me double on card. I had to walk back the next day to get the amount changed. And the manager goes like this is the common issue we face. And amount will go back to same. Though it did after couple of days but i had a mini heart attack for paying the double bill.
The overall restaurant okay. The food wasnt bad, just dont think it was worth nearly what it cost. Theres some cool stuff to look at, but judging it just as a restaurant, Id say there plenty of other places nearby that will give you higher quality food for the same price.
NEVER AGAIN - be warned!Firstly, be prepared to wait: in our case 25 minutes for a table while the restaurant was half-empty, then another 10 minutes for the waiter.Meals and beverages arrived at the same time (did I mention after some waiting time?), meals were cold. However, the waiter came with the dessert menu very quickly (we had just started with the entree ...).And the check was presented practically together with the dessert. Prices out of range (even for New York).Food quality and taste below average.Noisy with music videos on screens but muted and different songs played.Staff reasonably friendly at least ...The worst came when I checked my card statement: I was charged sligthly more than what I had signed on the check :-O What to say ... NEVER AGAIN - be warned!
So we had an okay experience. At first there was a wait that wasnt too bad, expected... then my food came out wrong. I am allergic to gluten, I ordered a bacon burger on a GF bun. I was given a mushroom swiss on a regular bun. The waitress and the manager were very nice about it, I was a little upset my husband and I had to eat at different times, he ordered hot food too. But they did give us 10% off our meal. So thank you Carlton. I only give 4 stars because the bread on BOTH my GF bub, and husbands wheat bun, literally crumbled to pieces. But service was great. Thank you again Carlton.
Rude staff at collection desk told us all bookings were cancelled due to an event over running- staff upstairs advised they were running on schedule (just). Once in several waiters checked we were a group of 2 and waiting for a table before someone finally seated us.Chair was dirty, plate stand when it arrived had old food stuck to it, inside generally tired and dusty, no recent film exhibits either. One of our mains was a pizza that arrived cold after a 40+ minute wait. Then another 15-20 mins for the next which was bland. Communication with staff was largely one way where they said they would find out what was going but never came back to us.The server then gave a speech about tips before we paid which was unnecessary and somewhat insulting after the service we received. As we left I used the restroom and a member of staff looked at the overflowing bin before piling more tissues on top and kicking old tissues back into the bathroom. We then left ...Avoid!!!!
It’s an old but has a good atmosphere. Staff is very nice. Food is pricey. I ordered the lasagna and a chicken pasta... very well served but eas not hot and did not like it. Salad was great, on point. If you have never been to a Planet Hollywood, go visit. Otherwise, not worth it.
Our only experience of this chain was in Florida and was good. This restaurant needs a makeover. Looking tired, dusty with contrasting cobwebs on some exhibits. The carpet must be decades old, and overall it does not shout hygienic. The food was OK, my son had ribs which he said were tough, everything else was tasty. Finally we tipped the waitress who didnt acknowledge what we had given her and was miserable the whole time.If you visit NY I would give it a miss, there are so many other places you can chose from.
The gentleman that showed us to our table was as good as it got. The Stella Artois that I ordered was ‘flat’ and tasteless, so much so I had to order a bottle of beer from the bar! The ‘steak’ was probably the worst in my experience and the service reflected this in lack of interest. Avoid.
This was the worst place I have ate at in my entire life. Not even exaggerating I don’t ever leave reviews but this place had to get one! The staff was so confused on who was going to be our waiter or waitress in the beginning . We later got five different waiters who didn’t know where our table was, they literally went to other tables with our food. Lastly when we finally received our food one person didn’t receive his meal until 10mins after the rest got their food. Ohh besides all that the REASON I WROTEE THIS REVIEW is because not only did we go through that unpleasant experience my food was disgusting and I got the three cheese chicken pasta I had two slices of chicken on my plate the rest Mac and cheese ! I had a horrible experience coming to Planet Hollywood in NYC for the first time and it will sure be my last !
Decore is nice inside the restaurant but since I have food allergies thankfully my server asked first, so thats why I put 3 stars. The food is ok but I was limited to choices due to prep and cross contamination soo ended up getting something didnt really want and it wasnt that great either.
We reserved a table and was seated fairly quickly we did however have time to look at the movie props on display, before I booked I was not aware that they had horror movie props (nightmare on elm street) and with clips playing from the movie we had to distract our 6 yr old son as he was getting quite distressed. Our waitress was new to the job but pleasent, we ordered Pizza, LA Lasagna and kids chicken fingers, when the food arrived the Pizza was inedible. The LA Lasagna was ok but only lukewarm and the kids chicken fingers were also dried out and lukewarm. We made a complaint about the food and the manager took the Pizza off the bill but he was really quite rude and almost aggressive in his manner.Avoid!
They were not busy and we were seated straight away. My husband ordered a steak and fries and the steak was charred burned and the fries were over salted. I ordered their half chicken (very over salted) with mash potatoes (that were instant!) and gravy ( from granules! I confirmed this with the kitchen) with green beans. The best part was the green beans... we left with an $80 check and went to eat somewhere else that had decent food. We were very disappointed after having eaten at planet Hollywood in Vegas this was not the experience we were expecting. We asked to talkto the manager and he/she never came to our table to even apologize. I would never recommend anyone to go to their nyc location!
Had dinner here tonightExtremely poor service from Michael !Didn’t ask us if we wanted any more drinks! ( empty glasses )Didn’t ask us if we wanted deserts !Another staff member brought our food over ( commented to him “ you owe me a drink for this “!)Didn’t bother talking to us but was all over another couple and couldn’t do enough for themI had to get up and pass him our payment , no thankyou , didn’t even look my way as chatting and laughing with the other coupleA real shame as our nyc experience has been fantastic regarding service up until now
I have never came across such a rude host.My wife asked for a bottle of beer with a glass and the host brought out a pint of beer. When questioned there attitude turned and was really rude. All you could do was laugh because they started on that theyd have to pay for it themselves. Finally the bottle and glass arrived and guess what, the glass was filthy. Some fruit from a cocktail was still in the glass. On getting the bill the host started pointing out the gratuities that we could give them. Its amazing the way 1 bad employee can change your view of a place.
Service is really poor. Our initial server informed us that he would be handing off to an alternate. After about 20 minutes of just sitting there, I had to go ask for a waiter to help us. This, after staring at drinks with no straws, and no kids menu. We ordered burgers, and could not get extra napkins for the kids because the server was MIA. Pretty bad, but kids dont care, so they liked it and the vibe of the place. I was less than thrilled.
Had fast track from sightseeing passes and was seated quickly. Thats were it went downhill fast. At least 6 servers walked past our table and another seated next to us. Never even looked at us or acknowledged us. I waved to the manager who apparently can see through people because he looked right oast me and walked by without saying a word. Finally got one waitresses attention and she told me she wasnt our waitress and didnt know who was. I asked her if she could find who was waiting on us and she said I dont know but Im not. Finally a waiter that the other table flagged down waited on us. He was great but was off so once again we didnt really have avserver. The food was great but service is terrible. Probably wouldnt go again unless I have a lot of time to kill.
At Planet Hollywood the service is very good. I went there with a group from my school and they took care of everything we wanted. With all the demands we threw at them the were polite and helpful. The atmosphere is completely friendly. Plus their cheeseburgers and fries are simply delicious!
Such a massive disappointment. I cant even review the regular food, because I never got my food(only dessert). There were 7 in my party, and the waitress brought out everyones orders, but mine (nothing fancy, that would take awhile. Just a chicken sandwich). I waited and waited, finally waved her down to ask, politely, when I might be getting mine (I used to waitress, so I always make sure to be polite). She said shed go check on it. Waited, waited...about 20 minutes later, when everyone at the table was basically done, I got up and went to find our waitress and asked her to just cancel my order. She just said fine, in a tone, as if I was bothering her. Not a single apology. We then ordered dessert. I ordered the Planet Meltdown, to share with the group. It was supposed to be a chocolate sphere over a slice of double chocolate fudge cake. There was no cake! The sphere melted to reveal a single scoop of vanilla ice cream. I was just baffled.I never really leave negative reviews, but this was just an over the top, bad experience...and being that this was my 40th Birthday dinner, made it sting that much more.In addition, my daughter, who ordered their BBQ chicken sandwich, said it was awful. She only ate half of it, and was in bed with stomach pains, most of the following day.
This place had the worst hostess I have ever dealt with, we waited for over an hour after being told 10-15 minute wait, after only one other party being seated ahead of us that entire time I approached the hostess to find out if I could get an accurate seating time as we had to be somewhere else and instead of answering me she just walked away. I got better food and faster service from the street vendor outside.
Worst experience we ordered and waited over an hour for food, server never came back until the food showed up, we ordered 3 burgers and asked for medium rare the burgers came well done. Also everything is super over priced for what it is . Only good thing was the water and sound track 😂 Also dont ask for garlic bread with your pasta theyll just give you a untoasted burger bun definitely not worth the money also waiting another 20 mins for the bill was fun
We were sat on a table near the entrance after waiting 45 mins for a table and the draft from outside was almost as cold as the French fries not to mention the complete mess up of our order and food was bad, was our only visit to a planet Hollywood but not a great first impression. The theming was cool but the over priced food was disappointing.
Sat at the bar ordered pizza and had a cockroach show up on one of the side plates while we were eating. Staff was horrified. They comped our meal and drinks. Hope the shut down the bar to debug the place. I should note however that the staff handled the situation very professionaly and the food was good.
Such a fantastic service! They are very welcoming and perhaps are one of the most trusting Resturants towards everyone despite whether you are single, couple or family. Whilst this is one of the few Resturants that stick to the old fashion Hollywood film industry environment. You will surely feel right at home with the film vehicles hanging from the ceiling and all the posters.
Very impressed with the service and expertise of Anthony Hartley. He managed to work everything out prior to doing a credit check so I was well aware what the expectations were before. Nevertheless all worked out as planned. Anthony was extremely patient and honest and I truly appreciate working with him. I will definitely be back!
This place is overrated and over priced. The props weren’t that interesting. Most are from old movies that I never even saw. The food was so bland and the menu is small. It certainly doesn’t match the theme of Hollywood. I rather of ate McDonald’s. I gave it an extra star because I like the celebrity hand print wall outside.
We waited over an hour and a half for our food. The food was overcooked and over sauced. Music was insanely loud. When we asked a manager about when our food would arrive, he checked on it and it came out shortly after, but he never apologized, visited the table, or offered to make it right. This was an absolutely miserable experience for my family.
The food is so yum and the atmosphere is brilliant... The thing about Planet Hollywood is that it really does have its own unique feel, and with the awesome blend of visuals paired with a great choice of music, it really gives you a great experience on every element. Their staff are very friendly and there is a lot of motivation in them to make sure you are feeling welcome, so there are pretty much non stop positives when making this part of your adventure in Las Vegas!
So last night our waiter came back to our table because of the tip we gave her. I was confused since I was giving her $25 from $150 we spent thats about 18%. I would have corrected her mistake but because how she came across with attitude and about her bills and personal stuff I decided not to. So we decided to split the bill so I gave her $80 cash and and told her $20 is tip $60 cash rest on the card. When she brought back the card bill i was confused since it was for $70 not $90 so i figured maybe i missed counted and gave her more in cash since she didnt not bring the cash carge recite so I gave her $5 tip on the card to make up the $25 tip. But it turned out she didnt hear what I said and put $80 cash and $70 on the card. So when i asked her if she wanted more money she kept saying I just wanted to see if you were not happy with my service and to be honest no i was not especially after doing what she did in front of the kids. First one of the kids asked her for a spoon so she could eat her chocolate dessert it took her so long that we asked another server for a spoon and we got that spoon way before our normal waitress then my kid gives me the spoon and asked me to hide it because she didnt want for the waitress to get mad. Plus now I had to explain to my kid what was going on with the waitress at the end. This was so unprofessional for her part i would not eat here ever.
Service was a bit confusing. Had at least 3 servers bring something to the table. The main server forgot a drink until they were reminded that it was ordered. The food was good though over priced. The music they were playing was loud, so its not a good place to eat if you want to talk to the people you go with and actually hear and understand what theyre saying.
The food was good. The service was diabolical and i certainly wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. Our server was virtually useless, i had to ask 3 times for the table to have water and eventually had to go to the bar to get it myself. I ordered a drink before my meal arrived and it didnt come until long after id finished my meal. The server then had the cheek to write down a suggested tip of 25% - not a chance. VERY POOR SERVICE.
Cool place. I do have a problem though. We brought our daughter for her 16th birthday. We made reservations and told them it was her16th birthday. And could they do something for us. In the end no recognition of her birthday. Shame because it is a cool place for sure. Food was good.
Food is good, service is very good, Justin did a good job of making us feel welcome although he didnt tell us how big the sharing dessert was!! You have costumes in glass cases worn by film stars in movie blockbusters that you can see, nice vibe to the place & we enjoyed it

2019-12-30Our waiter was very nice and prompt. As other reviews state, the music was definitely loud but tasteful and suitable for the decor. Our food was just ok with inflated prices but that’s common for most restaurants around Times Square. Overall, interesting experience in a convenient location.

2019-09-28Cool atmosphere. Food was ok, I would not recommend the fried stuffed pasta, the outside was not edible. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive which made up for the ok food. Drinks were good too. If you want a quick casual bite its a food place.

2019-07-10Honestly, what made our visit so amazing was the wait staff. TJ waited on us. He was authentic and was no BS. It made for a great experience. Ironically, they also have some of the best New York style pizza in New York. My youngest daughter is a pizza bigot, and she loved this pizza. Despite catering to the tourist crowd, if youre in Times Square do yourself a favor and stop by here just to take a break and enjoy the fun environment.

2019-06-04We were in New York in December, and of course well have a visit to Planet Hollywood on Broadway. It was a great experience and recommended to anyone who likes the good old Hollywood movies. The food is delicious and the staff was very friendly. It was all very fast. You should but if msn dinner there would like to order a table otherwise you might have to wait. If we are in New York again we will definitely be back.

2019-11-02Very nice people working there. The food was really good. The atmosphere was fun and there was a lot of movie memorabilia to look at. We ordered two kids meals and the portions were very large. The fajitas were great! This is the first place that I ever ate grilled green beans on a fajita, but it was really good!!

2019-12-30Weve visited twice so far, and each time was fantastic! Great wait staff on both occasions. The first time was for lunch, and Jordan waited our table. He was on top of everything!! We never had to ask for a thing... he was great! The second time we walked in 10 minutes from closing (we just wanted a milkshake). We were assured that we could take our time and enjoy ourselves, which doesnt happen everywhere. Our waiter this time was just as good as the last. Were visiting for the week from out of town, so I doubt well be back, but I highly recommend this place!

2020-01-01The staff were great, and the food was nice. Obviously its not a quiet place! But some really interesting movie props on display, we enjoyed our evening.

2019-01-18Very friendly staff. Great service. We appreciated that the tables weren’t too close together. That area of NYC is expensive so most places try to maximize the use of floor space. You are able to move around and enjoy the memorabilia without overly disturbing the other customers. Overall, a great dining experience you can only experience in a few tourist destinations.

2018-07-21Huge movie themed place. Weve had a table booked so weve just waited a few minutes really until they fetched someone to escourt us to our table. They make the best veggie bean Burger Ive ever eaten in my life. Gluten free bun available. Milk shakes were excellent. Fast and efficient service.

2019-07-25Very nice themed restaurant in Times Square! This Planet Hollywood has very cool movie memorabilia including a ghostbuster costume worn by Dr. Spengler, Terminator 2 cyborg and lots more. The food is really good as well as the service. One HUGE PLUS is the wait time during lunchtime is not long! What makes this restaurant good too is they really go all out with decorations and specialty drinks for holidays! Would recommend visiting this restaurant. 😉Tip: Make sure to look on the internet for coupons.
