I rarely give bad reviews, but when its necessary its necessary. We ordered a couple of beers which were unappetizingly flat (not carbonated) and mozzarella sticks that were cold, pale and not crispy at all.Im giving two stars and not one only because of the atmosphere of the place. Not Recommended.
The food was damn good. Was a little bit surprised from the 18% gratuity but I was going to tip like 20% anyway so it was very fair. The best food I had eating out in a while. If youre craving a good burger or some tender chicken I would definitely recommend this place.
My wife and I stopped here for dinner before a show. A nice place with decent food but we didnt have the Amazing experience that other reviewers had. When getting the check they also automatically added a 18% gratuity on to the balance. There was no opportunity to modify it either up or down which miffed me.
One of my favorite local bars you can find in times square. The theater crowd takes it over for a few hours around dinner but after they clear out, all the regulars have the place to themselves - and theres a lot of regulars! The food is okay but the star of the show is always the bartenders and staff. Its why I keep going back for the last 2 decades and bringing new friends to take in one of my favorite watering holes.
If you love Frank Sinatra, do yourself a favor and GO to the Playwright Tavern for Saturday or Sunday brunch to catch Kurt singing all the great tunes. The weather was nice enough to sit at a sidewalk table. Kurt plays out on the sidewalk and makes it a great personal experience.
What a shame. Was very excited for good eats. My lovely wife, son and I sit down and waited for service. 30 minutes go by, wife famished, we have to get up to ask for service, finally we place order and honestly, food was garbanzo beans. Very bad. Save your earned green and go to a respected establishment such as TGIF
The restaurant is conveniently located in Times Square and the food was actually good. There was great live music and we had the best waitress taking care of us!Unfortunately, it was her last day working there and good for her because it seems like a shady place to work. The wench of a manager/hostess scooped up the extra $10 tip from the table that we left on top of the 18% tip they automatically add to your credit card payment. As she picked it up, she asked if it was for our server and we said yes.We felt suspicious and waited until we saw our server to make sure she got it. Our server said she doesnt receive tips while in training and that it was her last day working because she didnt like it there.I stopped the old wench manager/hostess with the glasses and asked about the tip and she said it was going to be split up amongst everyone, which wasnt what we wanted. We wanted it to go directly to our amazing server.Seems silly to treat amazing workers poorly, especially in a staffing shortage.
Very cold to sit on the high chairs on the sidewalk. Might have been better with the tables under the roof with the heat lamps. The burgers where alright, nothing really special unfortunately but good size portions. You dont really need to buy an extra side, but the irish fries where delicious! Not to salty or bacony, just right! Fast service.
Food was good and decent prices. However, 18% gratuity added on, so make sure you check the bill before adding any other tips.Didnt get any particular celtic vibe at all.Was cold inside/upstairs, diners re-donning jackets to prevent chills.Service was OK, nothing particularly special.
Visited tonight with friends and enjoyed every minute of it. The Irish Nachos were delicious as was the Baileys Coffee and Chocolate Cake. Our server, Jackie, was attentive, friendly, and efficient. The live music provided by Andy Mac was the perfect addition to dinner. Folks sang along and everyone seemed to have a great time. Ill definitely be back!
Was okay but unfortunately the waiters were not so friendly maybe just today one spilt a drink on my friend accidentally and said he will bring some towels never came back nor did he bother to bring an extra straw. But French fries were okay I liked my frozen margarita just better customer service would be better
The atmosphere was nice and the food was good.Only minor issue was the amount of time it took for the food to arrive. After we ordered, our soups came out pretty quickly, however, after finishing our soups, we waited about 30 mins before the entrees arrived. But other than that, the food was good and we really didnt have any other issues.
For the Gluten-free and Dairy-free the vegetables have to be cooked without butter and you must notify your server. The steak was cooked to our request and was quite nice. The fish and chips had a thick Irish batter but tasted well. This was a nice dinner. The atmosphere was fantastic with the old wood to the stained glass. It was a fun little Irish pub.
Drinks Menus had no prices on. Overpriced food and drink. After 15 minutes after taking our order the wrong dishes came. Drinks orders were mixed also as we were given the wrong drinks. Waitress came over multiple times questioning what we had actually ordered. She suggested a dish off the specials menu but asked on 2 different occasions after that what we had ordered. Food was not great. A 20% tip charge was compulsory added, and waitress forgot to give us our change after paying the bill. Had to ask the waitress 10 minutes after taking our money if we could have our change, whilst she was stood eating the shepherds pie that wrongly came out of the kitchen
Popped in here after seeing Book of Mormon. At the upstairs bar a guy was singing Sinatra songs and interacting with the patrons, which was fun. The food was a bit on the pricey side for what it was - upwards of $20 for a sandwich and fries - and felt a little basic. But the atmosphere was fun and it was so close to the venue, and that felt like a plus.
The $15 burger and beer is a great deal. Burger was done perfectly and cheese was melted all over the burger. Fries were crispy and perfectly seasoned. Manager asked me what I wanted to watch and checked on me frequently. Great price, very good food and wonderful service, right at Times Square. A great option when you need a break and have worked up a substantial appetite (portions were NOT small). Enjoy!
This was very disappointing. Mozzarella sticks were from the frozen section and the ingredients for nachos came out of a can. Nothing special about it. We were just stopping for a quick drink so we weren’t too bothered by the food. It was the very poor service that irritated us. It took over 30 minutes to get the check. My wife hates that I always tip 20% or more, but this time I was ready to go less. We finally got the check and 18% tip was already applied. This was for a party of two. There wasn’t even an option to add an additional tip if we had wanted to. It all just seems off to me. I would go elsewhere.
We went here for lunch one day. It was pretty cool because the waiter guy had an thick Irish accent. Which really gave it a more authentic feel. The prices were moderate. It is a nice place and the food was good but I dont suggest it for drinks. Its a little pricey on drinks.
Very expensive and the food wasnt even close to worth it! Also a 20% gratuity added for a party of two which wasnt discussed or mentioned prior to seating. I normally tip 20% or more anyhow but the service was sub par at best and the food didnt warrant the amount either. We were seated outside and it was freezing. Overall not a good experience and I wont be returning.
How can a bar in this part of town have two bourbons and ONLY ONE SCOTCH (and a lower end one at that)!?!?!?The food was great but let’s face simple facts, great food is not hard to find in Manhattan! Ownership/management should do a far better job listening to their employees and CUSTOMERS!!!!We came here two years ago and had a great experience but this time the menu is limited and the drinks are EXTREMELY limited!!!!Stay away and maybe the owners will listen to the lack of cash flow!AMAZING service but the staff is cutoff at the knee with nothing to sell their patrons!!!To the owner…. Feel free to reach out to me for SOME ADVICE on how to treat your employees and customers.
Will charge you 18% mandatory service charge, even if you are just drinking. Went in this evening for beers and was told very rudely we must pay the 18% or drink elsewhere bc it’s times sq! I’m a local and 18% is not the standard on drinks AT ALL. Tourist trap; enjoy this rude entitled establishment at your peril…
Came here for an hour lunch break during work. Coworker and i ordered two burgers as soon as we sat down. 40 minutes later we asked where our food was. The bar was empty. It turns out our waitress forgot to put our order in. She apologetic but also gave a bunch of excuses and seemed like she was on drugs. There are plenty of irish pubs in midtown, stay away from this one!
Im surprised to see the bad reviews about the service!!My husband and I enjoyed everything about our experience here. From the gentleman who took our temps and seated us, to our bartender who took our food and drink orders, they were so friendly. The bartender and I were laughing together- I really liked her!Our drinks were perfectly made(Cosmopolitan and Captain and Coke), and our food was just as perfect! They have a great selection of alcohol and Irish fare. Great location, with additional seating outside. Of course, we will be back!!
Great Irish pub! Excellent food choices (try the corned beef!) and loads of drinks. Theyve got a little bit of everything from everywhere. I had Veltins Pils, which Id not seen since living in ye old Deutschland.Debbie was our server, and was the exact opposite of the stereotypical rude New Yorker. Very pleasant, attentive, and on top of everything. Shes been working 14 hour shifts, 4 days per week, so it was amazing that she was so cheerful and agreeable despite 60+ hour weeks... Treat them right, yall! Theyre making things happen!
One of the worst calls Ive ever had. please if you are not comfortable receiving tourists do not open on New Years Day. the bartender was extremely rude throughout. I believe he was one of the owners of the establishment which makes the act even worse. stay away from this place.
Great place for dining and enjoying live music if you are outside. Bartenders have a nasty attitude, Ive see one of them taking cash off the bar last night and straight into his pocket. Really cant trust employees like that, thatsstealing and itsunfair to the establishment. When you try to speak to the bartenders or get their attention, it seems as though they dont want to serve you or even be inside their establishment. If you dont want to work just stay home. The service last night was horrible, we left after just two drinks.
The worst customer service ever!!!I went to this place to have a good time with my girl and a friend... since the beginning the lady who received us and took our order had a unpleasant attitude. I was patient with her because I thought she was having a really bad day, and maybe she had difficult customers, so i always keep a nice attitude with her... but after expending more than $300 at the end of the night when i asked her for the check... we asked her in a very nice way to give us 5 min (so we can split the check because one of us didn’t order food). And the answer that she gave to us it was “dont make me waste my time, i can not come to your table any time you want”. We only asked her to come to our table only twice in all the time that we expend there, because there was also other servers who took some of our drinks orders (and they were so much nicer than her). I was so upset with her answer and her attitude, because she wasn’t even busy, the restaurant was almost empty, only a couple tables occupied. And also i saw her being very emphatic with some other customers just for being “regular customers”. At the end of the night I tried to express my nonconformity with one of the other server guys. And the jewel that he dropped me was “That lady is the owner of the place”. If this is the class of service that the owner give to their customers... what kind of experience can you expect?THE WORST PLACE EVER
Food was delicious we got a burger and mozzarella sticks. The drinks were a little pricy for a small cup(3 Jameson and ginger ale)Service was not too bad due to high volume holiday (st patty Day)Yet serves and bussers very attentive)Total bill was about 100.00 w/ gratuity added.Definitely will be coming again next time I will visit NYC.
Service was average. Nothing memorable or special in terms of food or drinks. So Just had a couple of beers and soup. The soup was bad enough that I couldnt think about ordering more food.Customers were not called out on walking around without masks. And the tables were definitely not 6 feet apart.
Today 01/20 at 3:30pm I arrived with my family 9 people in total, we suggested to the hostess that divided us into two tables she told us with attitude that we must only use a specific one that had heating but we went to the table no had not enough space for everyone, SheSCREAMED at us she and pointed (as if we didnt understand) on 2 more occasions that only had tables interspersed with heating.A friend recommended the place and the hostess with her attitude ran usThe tourists looked for pleasant places with good attention qualities that this person does not have and that by suggestion to the owner of local should throw it away and more economic situation.!
Were in Covid, but the bartender and the waitstaff should be more friendly and more attentive. I think I am understanding and Id like to give everyone (espically now) the benefit of the doubt, but friendliness and attentiveness is required in the service business! The employees on this night were nowhere close to an A game... I do not expect nor do I demand outstanding service, but I would like service.
Nice looking bar.Needs friendlier staff . Wish i could it minus one starHope the owner sees this review so he can get more customers would recommend him replacing the current staff. Im a friendly going easy going guy who wouldnt usually say that but these staff members have terrible hospitality.hire someone better if you want more tips
We arrived close to 5pm on a Thursday night. We sat upstairs and were the only table, but the place filled up quick. I had the fish and chips. They were good, but Ive had much better. These had that gummy goop under the breading and the fries were just average. Good beer selection. After dinner we went to the bar downstairs to take advantage of a few Happy Hour Cocktails for $6. A Margarita and an Appletini. Way to sweet. Yuck. Switched back to beer. This is the perfect location if catching a show. I would recommend going and Ill give it another shot when back in the area.
We were happy to find any restaurant, especially a non-chain, actually OPEN near Times Square! Unfortunately, it was an awful experience. The “service” was minimal (had to ask for a server!), the $20 burger was bland & unseasoned, and mixed drinks (regular size) were $15 each! WAY overpriced, blah food & service was slow and rude- when they bother to visit the table!
Not inedible food, but was definitely disappointed by the quality. Its one of those restaurants that pulls you in because of the flashiness of the outside. The service was attentive and you wont have a horrible meal here, but I feel that theres definitely better choices in the area.
Been to the other location several times; love this place. Delicious homemade pot pie w puff pastry crust & Shepherds pie; this time I had the special port wine pork loin and it was lovely. What a treat to get there at 4:30 on a Sunday with plenty of time to have a relaxing meal before a 7:00 show - was nearly empty when we got there, though by the time we left it was crowded as usual and extremely noisy. The 11 and 14 year old who were with us also enjoyed it. Home run.
Food was ok, service was horrible. The busboy was the only part of the service that was attentive. Our server all but ignored us. One of the entrees was missing part of it, she never checked on us after we were served. The salad my significant other ordered came with creamy dressing, he ordered Italian. She never checked on that either, so he had to eat his salad dry. After the meal, we sat for an extended time while hoping to order dessert. When she finally made her way over, we feared running late for our show so we passed. On the plus side, my onion soup was excellent. The pot roast my significant other had was plentiful and tasty he reported, even though it was missing the advertised vegetable. My corned beef was passable. The table was promptly cleared after the soup and salad and after the entrees by other, too bad they could not take our coffee and dessert order!
Id avoid this place. Prices are through the roof. $16 for a kids meal. $5 charge if youre trying to share a plate. 18% Gratuity charged on parties of 6 or more. Thatd be fine if our server actually deserved 18%.Portions were small, especially the $16 kids meals. To be fair, everyone did enjoy their food, but when asked everyone also agreed it was not worth the price.Water was served took temperature, cups were dirty, there was debris floating in the water, and the pop was served room temperature over a little bit of ice making it seem flat.Very bad, avoid this place.
Today 01/20 at 3:30pm I arrived with my family 9 people in total. The hostess who received us was so rude, if she doesn’t have the capacity of receiving large groups or tourists she should not be working in a restaurant located in Times SquareThe tourists looked for pleasant places with good attention qualities that this person does not have and that by suggestion to the owner of local must throw it away and more with this economic situation.!
* Dont go there. Theyre prejudice. They made us feel very uncomfortable and indifferent claiming that they had to hold onto customers credit card for security reasons but as we observed for the hour and a half we spent there, we were the only table that were ask to do so and the only reason we could come up with was because we were a black couple because none of the othere customers was subjected to that behavior. I assume its because they were all white. . It was a Racial act. Wouldnt go back there and i suggest that black folks avoid there.
Terrible draft beer selection if you enjoy craft brew. Plus $19 for 2 meh beers...no prices on menu. Waiter copped an attitude when we didnt order 2nd round. But cute place with friendly bartender & guy out front who ushered us in..just glad we didnt get sucked in for dinner..
Its a classic Irish Pub. Definitely more modern than classic and the food is Bland but I tend to find most Irish food Bland. That being said we had the calamari and it was cooked well but not much seasoning. Theyre marinara was good but not great. We had an open-faced Reuben as well and it was good but it was not as good as Katz Delicatessen. Their Guinness was fine but if youre an Irish pub and screw up again us then you really have no business being in business
Fantastic place, everything so fresh and in order, despite that day before it was UFC live show and it was overcrowded until 5am next morning by 10am everything was in order.Great food and huge selection, perfect beer, staff so polite and so cool!! It is obviously that these guys know what they are doing... manager was on top of her duty and each and every guest was feeling that they are special guests..Frankly speaking I was surprised,Good job guys keep doing great job.I loved Irish pubs but you guys became my favorite one...Thanks management for doing great job and making guests happy...All the best....
Play right is a great place to get food and drink. I work nearby and have gone there for years. Its usually pretty busy after work gets out on the weekdays, but not overcrowded or too loud. Great bartenders and staff. Food is awesome and there is a sit-down restaurant on the 2nd floor which is great. Love that place.
Horrible. We were four people. We ordered burgers. How simple can this be. The burgers were tasteless and we all ordered rare to medium. All four burgers were cooked very, very well done. The fries were frozen packaged fries. We explained to the waiter that all of the burgers were cooked way too much and he looked at us and walked away. The wait staff was very unfriendly, the food was tasteless and cooked incorrectly. We will never return.
What a lovely place! Idk if its something about US that we have such great experiences or we frequent a lot of really good places. We were treated like family here by EVERYONE. We sat in a dining area upstairs & there was a bar & live band in the room next to us & it was just alive (not too loud) happy people, happy staff. We sat by a large window & had an amazing view of all the action downtown. We went for dinner with family had some amazing pastas, good drinks, watched the MMA fight, ordered wings (omg those wings were fire!) Manager/owner sent us a free round because she said she liked us after chit chatting with us & its just definitely the kind of atmosphere, service & food that makes you recommend & want to come back!Thank you for showing us a wonderful time!
My wife and I were vacationing in New York City when we decided to go to a nicer dinner. While the atmosphere is casual, the food was great! My wife had the penne pasta with chorizo sausage and kale, and I had the shepherds pie. Both were delicious and we had a great time! This place is right on Times Square so it makes for a great place to eat before or after a show! The service was very good and speedy!
Enjoyed Playwright quite a bit. Above the Celtic Pub and right off Times Square, the location is great to get a bite and relax. Menu is decent with a number of American/Pub options. Fish and Chips is done in a light tempura and quite good. The Famous meatloaf was a good choice as well. Fairly broad beer selection and overall attentive staff. Casual, dark wood environment upstairs.
Ricardo was an AMAZING server on St Pattys day 2021. With social distancing being so stressful, this was a spot we could get amazing views, fresh air, great music, and wonderful service. The vibe is ON POINT !!! Everywhere else has been so boring. THANK YOU FOR MAKING OUR TIME IN NYC A MEMORABLE ONE!!! XOXO!! Thanks again Ricardo!!!!!!!! - Brittany from Charlotte, NC.
My husband introduced me to this pub and I love it, the food is always great! Very nice people. The severs are amazing, very fiendly, AND, I’d never met a bar tender so good as Ronnie, usually bartenders do good drinks but Ronnie always asks me if is ok how I like the drink & he’s able to do it as I like, also if I want a share food, he separates in 2 plates the exact amounts, usually bartenders give u 2 plates for u to take care that but, Ronnie makes everting easy and he cares that for your happiness, I live in NY for several decades & I never met someone like him. Anyways this place is awesome. I highly recommend.
It ticks all the Irish pub experience for me. Friendly atmosphere and staff, easy going, good food, sports, live music, cold Guinness. If thats what you are looking for then you are in the right place. They also have a seated quieter second floor area which looked nice but I didnt try it.
Food was good. Although we had a very terrifying night, the bus-ers were quite literally stalking I and my friends. We just wanted to leave the minute we ordered our food. Very assaulting with stares, pointing, and they kept trying to talk to us. The one with the pony-tail was probably the worst. Sad to say I wont be going here again. I dont suggest it.
We had a great lunch here after seeing the Rockettes Christmas Spectacular. The Reuben was good (could use a little more sauerkraut and dressing, but the corned beef was really good), the fries were spectacular, and my wife said the fish and chips was the best shed ever had outside of her grandmothers kitchen. The staff was extremely friendly.
The upstairs bar serves nicely mixed drinks, and the appetizer platter - normally a mess in a midtown bar - was surprisingly solid and offered a decent variety (of fried things). Bartenders quick and thorough, but the place is tight, busy, and maintains a mixed crowd of tourists and locals making the atmosphere unpredictable.
The location is great. The service is friendly. The drinks are just okay. More touristy because of the neighborhood. Not a place I would plan a night out at, but an okay place to grab a drink after fighting the tourist crowds in nearby Times Square. It could be way better. Sticky countertops each time I have patroned this bar which adds to the grimey feel of the area so I guess in a way that could be charming depending on your perspective, lol.
We went on a busy Friday night, so it did take longer than it should have to order and get our check, but the food was tasty. I got the bangers and mash and a Guinness, which is on tap. They have other common Irish dishes available like Shepherds pie and lamb stew. I would definitely go back for more!
Got French onion soup and fish and chips. My girlfriend also got French onion soup and cornbeef and cabbage. My French onion soup looked really nice but my girlfriends soup looked like they just through it together. Then the fish and chips werent good. I asked for my fries well done and they didnt come out underdone. The fish was soggy and separated from the batter easily. Wasnt good. AND we had to ask for three different cocktails before they had something we wanted.
Not sure what some of these reviewers expect. This is right in the theater district and tourist central. BUT, its still a favorite go-to for us (locals). Varied menu is enough to please a picky fam. Service solid. Prices very reasonable for midtown. Food quality is very good. You really cant go wrong here, and the atmosphere is fun NYC
If you are at 7th and 49th street pub called playwright celtic pub ask for Eamon and he is honestly the best!!!He doesnt lie when he gives you the best food and hospitality!!!chef sledge said so!! And just to let you know the calamari was just as he said it would be!!!!
I can handle the obnoxious prices for food in Times Square, but the food should live up to the price. There was no getting around the bones in my fish and chips and my friend ordered the driest chicken weve ever tasted. Maybe it was a bad night, but I will not be returning to give it another chance
I went for a drink on Tuesday night, it was slow not busy aat that time, had to seat myself at the bar wait 10 mins just for someone to acknowledge that Im there, after waving my hands to get her attention she came to get the order, no menus were given or any info on what beers they have on tap. I guess she was busy listening to live music and socializing with other staff and didnt care much about service, after that I lost interest in the place and said to myself that it will be my first and last drink at that place and asked for the bill,She didnt wanna give a recipet and asked to pay in cash, Im ok paying cash for 1 beer, but with much experience in the industry I can tell that she was going to pocket that money. But it bothered me that after ignoring me during all the 30 mins I was there she had the nerve to ask me for a tip, I understand that tip is part of your job but you dont demand money from customers when you give 1 star service.Very dissapointed.NEVER GOING TO RETURN
We went to this place last summer when we were staying in Times Square. It was nearby and we wanted dinner before a play, so we dropped in. Our food was nothing special and overpriced. My friend couldnt even finish her bland salad because a fruit fly landed in it. I noticed there were TONS of fruit flies everywhere, definitely not just one random one. Two of us had our back to the wall, but our friend sitting opposite of us pointed out that there were a WHOLE BUNCH of fruit flies on the wall. We turn to find at least 15 fruit flies infesting the wall behind us. That killed our appetite. I told the manager and this lady actually argued that there was no infestation and they just sprayed. Uh-huh. I told her Theres like a dozen flies just behind me. The manager took one drink off our bill - thanks for NOTHING lady. Also, it took FOREVER to get our bill and we were almost late for the show. While waiting for at least 15 minutes after our terrible discovery, I could see that other people werent pleased with their food. This place was terrible. Much like many Times Squares restaurants, this one is to be avoided.
Friendly service and pleasantly surprised with quality and flavours of the dishes we had. Choose the set menu option and the chicken tortilla soup was just the ticket for a cold night in NYC. Our main were blackened catfish and curly kale caeser salad with with sliced steak. Both were delicious, fish was moist and melt in the mouth, veg sides were al dente and the caesar using kale was a revealingly tasty take on an old favourite. The dessert of apple crumble was a good balance of tangy and sweet. All round, definately recommended.
I hate doing a bad review. I never do them. Its like writing an essay about an ex girlfriend that broke up with you after seeing you naked for the first time. The food wasnt good at all. Our chicken fingers looked like the were beaten up. The buffalo chicken sauce looked like ketchup. The service was poor. We had to ask for water three times before the waiter brought it to us. He kept disappearing. The place wasnt busy really. The best part of the place is the incredibly hot chick hostess. She was short, with long blonde hair. She smiled like she meant it. Id go back only to take her out for dinner.
One of the worst restaurants I’ve ever been to. Food was horrible and the service was even worse. The extremely rude Russian server actually argued with me and told me I had more than one beer and kept insisting that I had an extra drink so she could put it on my tab.

2022-05-14Came in for a quick drink and bite before catching a show. Service was top notch and the drinks and food both came very quickly! My martini was cold and salty like I like, and the potato skins were creamy and super flavorful. The place has a great vibe as well.

2022-07-29This is a really nice place A good place to meet up with friends family associates acquaintances. You can see quite a bit of the city as people go by to relax good drink the staff very friendly very helpful. We were out of towners and you can tell we were out of towners. The staff helpful on the menu we sat down for drinks we didnt eat but even so very nice hostess and a nice waitress as well funny she should start a comedian circuit for herself. The drinks were interesting from the crew I myself as you can see from the pictures have water with lemon. From the silent traveler to all of you have a great day and enjoy New York

2021-07-29It is a nice place, that has a great location! It is located almost on the Times Square. They serve good pub food. I ordered Grilled Turkey Burger and it was good. The drinks were amazing. I had White Chocolate Martini. It was s tasty. The place by itself is pretty crowded, they have tables outside as well.

2021-10-18Very good food and good service! I had their Oktoberfest special platter and my wife had the pasta paisano and both were very tasty. Our waitress only came by once after taking our order and that was to clear plates and get us the check, but to be fair, we were sitting outside. I would recommend stopping by and grabbing dinner at Playwright!

2021-09-26A nice hole in the wall to pop in and have a drink after navigating the cacophony of times Square. Service was fast and helpful. Atmosphere was relaxed, sports playing on the screens and people just slowing down to enjoy the moment.

2022-02-25The BEST place to grab a quick drink down by the theatre district, I always go upstairs thats where the restaurant is and theres a bar where they have usually one person with a guitar playing music after a certain time...I dont know what time though because Im usually tipsy by then!

2022-08-06The place is very convent, just next to the subway station. The area is relatively spacious, if there are only 2 groups of people in the bar area. The bartender is nice, and the finger food is delicious. I like the singer singing at the entrance, which makes the atmosphere more elegant. However there are some dirty drain water in the dining area, because Manhattan is quite dirty to be honest.
