We went to Plowshares Coffee Roasters for brunch and had a wonderful meal. All four of us had the Bird Basket which is a bowl of git’s with salsa and poached egg on top. Very yummy! As a note, you need to order and pay before being seated. The line moves quickly. The staff ids also very nice and courteous.
Wonderful coffee shop! I did a double-take when I saw that this place existed - I live in the area and didn’t know a Plowshares location would be opening up near me. I went in, got a cappuccino, and had a great experience. The coffee is exceptional (rivaling the quality of other large third wave coffee companies) and the space is surprisingly large. Nice staff too :) Will definitely be coming again!
Came for breakfast, got a bagel with egg and sausage (no cheese). Service was good and food came out quickly once we made it to the front of the long line. But the food was only ok. The eggs were pretty tasteless, and the everything bagel and sausage werent much better. Credit for being relatively inexpensive.
We were on our own walking tour of Savannah and when we got hungry for lunch we turned to trip advisor to see what was nearby. Goose feathers was the perfect choice- freshly made sandwiches and a nice seat outside. We had some excellent food in Savannah and this quick lunch stands out as a win for sure! Would most definitely return and want to try breakfast too.
Coffee and space are good, customer service is terrible. I wanted to purchase a bag of coffee beans and have them grind it. They were quick to refuse to grind it the way I wanted to have it done which makes them useless as a place to purchase beans. Im not impressed when a place goes out of their way to say no. Double Dutch espresso down the street has coffee that is just as good and they go out of their way to say yes to the customer.
Coffee here is amazing, haven’t tried the pastries since giving up sweets for Lent, but that’s on my to-do list. A large and spacious place to take a laptop and do some work while people watching, which will be taken advantage of by the nearby City College student. Centrally (and strangely) located next to the live kill poultry spot and a small Mexican bodega, it sticks out from the neighborhood surroundings. However, along with Presto Cafe (that just recently opened between Amsterdam and Morningside), this is a welcoming addition to the usual unhealthy and repetitive fast food spots in the neighborhood. Sadly I’m moving, but whenever I’m near I’ll make sure to stop by.

2022-01-04Best Cappuccino in NYC! 5/5 Stars hands-down; the cafe was beautiful inside, had lots of room and even had a chest board to pass the time! Unfortunately we could not sit indoors, but excited to return!

2021-09-08Did you know you can order 5lb. bags of their beans on their website? If youre local youll get them in a day or two by mail (and for a great price.) Weve been ordering their beans for two years now. We keep them in an Airscape tin and the our coffee still tastes great by the end of the month. Best way to buy beans in the city! Also, love this location, not many coffee shops with this much space here in Manhattan.

2022-03-04Surprised to find this cafe in a such sh*t area. The space itself is bigger than what it looks like from the outside. Plenty of seating. It was relatively at a low volume the entire time I sat here which was nice. Really surprised. The prices were average for a coffee shop. You can tap to pay or pay with cash. If you wind up in this area on a cold day and need a quiet place to sit and do work or just sit, it’s worth the visit.

2019-06-15Beautiful space with great coffee, wifi, and lots of outlets. the best coffeeshop to work in i’ve found in this area. i almost don’t want people to know about it so it can be all mine! the other location of plowshares has equally great coffee and service, but smaller space. i recommend the ham and cheese croissants, and the mocha is the best i’ve ever had!
