We were hoping PODS would make our move easier. It has been nothing but. We scheduled the delivery and move 2 months in advance. After 3 separate phone calls to fix the spelling of the final address, our PODS were supposed to be delivered this morning. We received a phone call this afternoon from the national call center saying that the Local Storage facility had an unforeseen driver situation and was unable to deliver it. They already had charged us the $700 the day before of course.The customer service rep told us we had been rescheduled for next available which would be TWO WEEKS from Today. This date was also ONE WEEK AFTER the POD was supposed to be picked up and moved to the new location. I tried to explain this was unacceptable and would obviously not work for us as we had to move out of our house by the pick up date. The customer service representative told me she could reach out to the local storage facility to explain our circumstance and would let us know. Two hours later we had not heard anything. I have now called back 5 total times. 3 of those times my call was disconnected at some point while on hold. The average wait time to speak to a customer service representative was 20 minutes. We are closing on our house so its looking like we will need to just cancel and go with traditional storage.What should make moving easier was actually more difficult. This has been very disappointing.
For my move across states I looked at several options, with PODS coming in as the most cost effective and flexible option I was able to find. My experience with PODS was. nothing but great. From the quote to initial empty delivery, to pickup and deliver at my new house, the whole process was seamless, simple, and efficient.My experience when delivering of my POD at my destination house was as I expected and when I had an issue opening the door (due to a few items shifting that were not properly tied down) the delivery guys assisted me with clearing the items blocking the door. If you are in the Columbia area I would highly recommend asking for Robert Catoe to support your redelivery as he went above and beyond in helping me clear my door issue. His trainee (didnt get name) was also extremely helpful.I will definitely be using and recommending PODS again. The service is excellent!
The first time I used PODS I had a great experience even though they had dropped a POD that was damaged. They came out and replaced it immediately and gave me credit for the inconvenience. This time in Florida when it happened the driver gave me major attitude and left the POD! I had to spend my next morning trying to get through to Customer Service and a Manager to get a new POD brought out, which delayed my packing! I never got a call from a manager or any compensation for this poor customer service and the delay of my packing! When my I went to empty my POD at the warehouse because they dont service the area I moved to I couldnt get the door open and I had to sit on the phone with customer service because no one was there supposedly to tilt the POD back to get the items away from the door so I could open it. She told me I might have to reschedule and I lost it because I had rented a Uhaul and drove 2 1/2 hours that morning to get there! So we pushed and pushed till we got the stuff away from the door and got it open. When I opened it so much of my belongings were damaged. The POD was damaged in several areas and when it was dropped in FL it was pretty much brand new. What a huge disappoint this experience was.
Completely upended my move.When the filled POD was delivered to our new home, there was an issue with the current occupant.We paid extra to PODS, to have the unit moved to another location temporarily.After getting the 2nd move scheduled (that was a headache in itself), The co. driver came to my new home emptyhanded, expecting to pick up a unit.After a long, and I mean LONG conversation with Customer Service, all I am left with is maybesI may have to potentially wait up to 2 weeks for my belongings to be delivered to my new home.Mind you, the POD is only a few miles away, and I may resort to dozens of back and forth trips to get the essentials.I cannot see why the co. cannot simply have a driver move it asap.To be in a new home, unable to start your future, is a very helpless feeling.We paid for, and deserved better than this.
I paid for my items to be insured. A bunch of my belongings were damaged. I contacted them twice and yet they still will not be professional and allow me the chance to make a claim. I lost belongings that I will never get back. The POD itself was even damaged. It looked like they flipped it upside down. I paid good money for this POD and Im extremely disappointed in the service. Just U-Haul your stuff.
DO NOT USE PODS IF YOU LIVE IN THIS AREA!I scheduled a same day drop off/ pick up 3 months in advance! The day finally came and my pod was supposed to be delivered between 10:15am and 1:15pm we hired movers and had them come at 2pm! Long story short the pod never came! I called the 1-800 number 20 plus times from 2pm-8pm and told a million different things. First it was they were “backed up” because they were short drivers. Then it was we aren’t sure if you will get your pod today. Never was able to speak to a supervisor. I had to be out of my apartment that evening. Around 4pm I was told from the “head driver” he guaranteed me my pod would come today and that I would hear from him shortly with a ETA.. never happened I called again after not hearing anything now till 6pm now they can’t get ahold of the driver! Then I get a call finally at 6:30 pm from another driver telling me he was 10 minutes from picking up my pod i then had to explain I never got my pod! I call back and was told that they weren’t coming tonight and they could come Friday unacceptable! I lost money oh my movers, I lost money on a city permit that they told me I had to have for that day and I wasted an entire day! Worst experience I’ve ever had with a service!!
My POD was stored in the Albany location and they could not delivered it on time due to shortage of drivers. I had to wait 10 days for my POD and take on all the inconveniences. I was also charged an extra month of storage. I have tried several times to have a refund but it seems like I am being ignored. I was not a happy customer.
I ordered PODS for the first time and was reassured due to a contingency sale it would take about a week to pick up the packed POD and move it to my new home. I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN NOR WILL I RECOMMEND THEM. IN FACT I RECOMMEND YOU FIND ANOTHER SOLUTION TO YOUR MOVING NEEDS. We are now being told by PODS it will take over three weeks to move our packed POD to our new location. In the meantime we have advised PODS it is no longer our property that it is sitting on and needs to be moved immediately so we are not sued or our possessions are not auctioned off by the new home owner. SURPRISE, PODS DOES NOT CARE. There are no managers to speak with ever IF you even get through to the customer service, they refuse to provide phone numbers to the local PODS facility actually providing the services, and to top it off they keep asking to schedule the final pick up of the POD that I as of right now cannot even get in my possession. BEWARE!!!!!
Every single person I spoke to (and theyre were many) was very nice.The niceness unfortunately didnt translate to an easy moving experience.The pod drop off was rescheduled from Friday to the following Tuesday because the driver ran out of DOT hours. I spent hours on hold Friday & Saturday trying to get the pod delivered while my movers were availableIt was supposed to be picked up Tuesday, THAT was rescheduled for the end of the week, again, without consulting me and, again, took hours of calls to get it out of my driveway so the landscaper & realtor could get to work.The pod was supposed to be delivered to my new location 5/1/21 somehow yet AGAIN this was changed without consulting me to this time to April 16th (2 weeks before my move-in date)This fix required the least hold time and I found out there was a flag on my account so I should be bumped to a supervisor if/when I called again. The supervisor that was supposed to be handling my multitude of issues was non responsive and I STILL havent heard from her.The last rep I worked with was able to get around the flag and fix the problem.I did request my many phone calls be reviewed and to find out why this kept happening. I still havent heard anything.This was, hands down, the most difficult move I have every had.
PODS has made moving the worst experience for us. I was sad to leave our last place and worried about settling in somewhere new and they have made it just that much more difficult. When we signed up and paid for them we were told it would take just a few days to get our POD once we were ready for it. When we called to have it delivered they gave us a date over a week later. We were frustrated but understood and agreed to wait patiently. Today we were given a delivery window, the POD never showed up and no one ever called so we contacted them and were told they were still in the previous state and can not be delivered for another week and a half. But they made sure to charge us that $1500 right away! Thanks for making a difficult time even worse PODS.
PODS is a great way to move if you don’t particularly need any of the stuff you pack into the pods. Unfortunately, if you fill your Pod with things that you might actually need upon moving into your new home, you may want to look into other options. Out of nowhere, Pods decided to cancel the scheduled transportation of our Pod to our new area, and by the time we realized that it was still sitting in New Jersey, they couldn’t deliver it to our new home until a week after we had moved in. We had to run out and buy some cheap pots and pans and kitchen stuff to get through the week. After we had to spend probably $200 to buy the stuff we really immediately needed (like, you know, spoons... a towel...) they offered us a $40 refund. Thanks guys. Did I mention we finally got our Pod on Christmas Eve? Good times. *The only reason I’m giving two stars instead of one is because all of the drivers were awesome. Seriously, I think the drivers are the only good part of the whole company.
I will admit that I am very late to review our most recent experience with PODs, but late is better than never! We used PODs approximately 5 years ago to store our household items while we were deployed and had 0 issues. We decided to use them again for our move last fall and unfortunately we ran into numerous issues. When they came to pick up our POD to move it from our old house to our new house, they gave us an afternoon time window. That morning, we ran to the store (literally 2 minutes from our house) and apparently during that time they attempted to pick up the POD but our other vehicle was in the way. Instead of calling us, they just left (I know this because of our security cameras). I figured they would come back during the original time window and try again. However, I was wrong....later that afternoon I received a call that they were unable to pick-up our POD and we would have to wait another 3 days because it was the weekend. This GREATLY affected our moving plans. When they finally moved it, they dug up our yard pretty bad. When we e-mailed them to complain, they stated WE wanted the POD placed in that position therefore they wouldnt reimburse us for the damage. However, that makes no sense because they didnt cause that damage when they dropped it off.Fast forward to the final pickup....At some point they deleted our pick-up day/time (I have the paperwork to prove that we had it scheduled). Once it hit nightfall, I realized they had never come (just to note, we strategically set the date so we wouldnt have to pay another month). Due to them not picking it up, we got charged an extra month (which was eventually reimbursed) and we had to call to get a new date.Everything was an absolute nightmare. I used to recommend PODs to friends but we no longer do....When I made a complaint they offered a $50 refund for the yard damage (laughable). We were going to accept it but then realized we had to sign a release stating we would not leave a poor review. I rather let people know about our horrible experience than take their $50....
My experience with PODS was terrific. They delivered the POD on time as scheduled. It was clean, held all the furniture we needed to put into it while we were having hardwood floors installed throughout a 5 bedroom house. It was watertight, we had several strong storms while we had it and there was no leakage. It was easy, they came placed where I asked and came back a month later and hauled it away. No damage to my driveway or lawns. I would use it again in a heartbeat! Hope everyone else is as lucky with their experience.
Please do not get duped into using PODs for a military DITY (PPM) move like I did! No where did it say, nor did they ever tell me when setting everything up that they only service my delivery area once a week. One day before delivery, I called for pickup within a few days of the empty container, and they told me it would be the following week. The apartment complex doesnt allow a POD to sit for a week and PODs didnt care and wouldnt do anything about it. I would have been much better off getting a uHaul! PODs appears very enticing, but once they have your stuff, your held hostage!
This was the worst moving experience I have ever had. The first pod I had was damaged and had water leaks. I had it replaced. They charged me and it took 4 weeks to remove the charges for their error. Then everything I owned was ruined because the new pod apparently had a space in which a mouse could get in. Although I had the insurance the pod company did not cover anything. So I paid over $1000 to rent and store my belongings which are now all destroyed. Thanks for nothing!
Have a cross country move to TX coming up. Filled out an online quote, said I needed to call their CS # so I did. After waiting 15 mins I was able to speak to a SCR then she starts gathering all my info. The moment I told her I was looking to get a quote not place my order at this moment. she hung up on me without saying a word. I suppose my $ is no good here, Ill take my business to uhaul!
PODS made a huge impact on the success of my moving experience. We used it to store extra furniture and stuff when we put our house on the market to sell and then deliver it to our new home. I didnt think about having a moving company load and secure the POD but that would have been a great idea - especially if we had a long move. We did a good job ourselves and everything came back in good shape.All of the staff was friendly and helpful. Yes, the delivery and pickup need to be scheduled and sometime they are booked. I was able to find times that fit very well with our schedule. I would highly recommend this service to anyone who is moving. Its a great way to get some items put to the side while you are dealing with others.
This was by far the WORST experience Ive ever had with ANYTHING in my entire life.My husband separated from the military and got a job offer in New York. This meant we had to pack up all of our stuff and move it from Raleigh to Albany NY. The initial quote experience was fine, nothing terrible and the delivery of the POD went smoothly too. The nightmare started to unfold when it came time to have it delivered to my new address.I was charged for a month of storage that I wouldnt be utilizing which made me a bit agitated. When I called to inquire about the charge I was reassured that I would be able to get the full amount refunded (roughly $300) as long as my container was emptied by that Saturday. Well now that Ive got $300 out of my account and I just spent an upwards of 2500 to get the keys to my new place, I didnt have enough money to have the POD delivered to the house anymore because that was a separate charge. No big deal, we had planned to just empty it out ourselves with our truck and a Uhual.I had called a few times during this work week to confirm everything that I had been told and to get my access to the POD the next day (you have to call 24 hours in advance to be able to access your POD). I was told every time that yes, I will be refunded as long as it is emptied by the end of the day Saturday. Well come Friday when I call to get my access and I just want it confirmed once again, all of a sudden thats not correct.Knowing that I was told by the end of the business day Saturday at least twice, I let them open up a call review so that I could get my full amount refunded like I was promised. In the mean time, I got my access because Saturday morning right as PODS opened, I was going to pack everything into a Uhal and be done with it.Saturday morning at 10 am ( an hour after they opened, we had a slow morning) I show up at PODS and my container is no where in sight. My husband goes up to the man loading one onto a truck and tells us hes just a driver, he cant help and the two other men at the location are nowhere to be found. Nobody could tell us where our POD was or what was going on because there was nobody there. I had to call customer service (15 minute hold, fun) and they couldnt help me either. They tried to call the manager at least 5 times but he didnt pick up. I had to sit in a uhual with my husband, 5 year old, and dog for 4 hours until they could bring our POD down after they finally located it.Now remember, I had to have this POD emptied by the end of the day Saturday to get my money back and let me tell you my husband and I loaded up that uhaul sooo quick.A few days later I get an e-mail saying that they reviewed my one phone call and that they started the process of refunding my money. I was told it would take 7-10 business days at the most. Well color me shocked when its going on 12 business days and NOTHING. I tried calling PODS yesterday and when I was connected to the person that was handling my issue, I was disconnected.Do NOT use this service EVER. Also dont both with the insurance thats an extra 100$ it covers next to NOTHING. The representative that I spoke to when I first made my quote made it seem that it covered anything major being broken no matter what. My husband and I packed the POD the way it was recommended in the videos and still my dinning room table was broken along with a couple other pieces of my furniture. This however, is not covered by the insurance because they claim its user error.In the end unless 100% necessary, DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. Its expensive and you will be left with broken belongings and a massive migraine whenever you have to deal with them.
Did a remodel in the house. Kitchen, dining room and den. New hardwood floors etc. There was no way to move everything into different rooms in the house. Researched our options and decided on going with a POD. Best decision. Ended up taking around 6 months to finish. Kept all our furnishings safe and sound through the winter. Was an easy delivery and im expecting the pickup to be just as painless. If i was planning on moving to another state or something i would consider letting them do it. Im very pleased with how the house came out and it was so nice bringing stuff back in at our own pace. Fantastic experience with PODS and i would certainly recommend them.
PODS took so much stress out of our move!! The drivers were excellent to work with. They were knowledgeable and considerate of property and moving challenges/needs. Contacting PODS about changes in dates and delivery needs was easy and they were very accommodating.My only frustration was that the drivers were not always made clear of circumstances that may have been discussed with the call center.
I have been singing pods praises to EVERYONE throughout our experience until today. I will NEVER use them again after they were not available to do the final pick up of my pod before the 11th day of a service period and now are refusing to refund us ANY of the $182 monthly rental fee due to their inability to pick this thing up earlier. Its been a nuisance in my driveway for 3 extra days and now they are keeping all of my money! Bad business practice. Really disappointed.
Nightmare Experience with PODSMy son and his family moved on Thursday and had made arrangements to have their pod delivered that day. Pods told them the truck broke down and they could not deliver until Friday. Now if you have a business dependent on a truck..dont you have a back-up plan? After all people take off from work to be there when the pod arrives. It gets worse, the pod was not delivered Friday. It was promised that it would be delivered by 5:00pm on Saturday but Saturday came and went and the pod was still not delivered. My son was then told that it would not be until the following Thursday because he had to go to the end of the list of deliveries!! WHAT??? What kind of service is that? It should have been moved to the top of the list. I called and talked with management, who unfortunately are in Florida, so I got told more than once that their hands were tied. Really and you are management and can do nothing???? I was told the manager at Schenectady had reached out to my son. What exactly does that mean? Leave the Kum-bye-Yah for the campfire and deliver the pod. Do what you said you would do. Be honest! Stop lying. By the way, the number of lies we were told were copious!. Finally, the manager in Florida said he had contacted the territorial manager and that the pod would be delivered on Monday morning. MORE LIES...MONDAY CAME AND WENT WITHOUT ANY POD. Are these the kind of people you want to do business with and yes, this delay has caused the use of the pod to go into a new month for a new fee. Pretty sneaky and despicable way of making money. Think before you use this company.
Horrible experience. The drivers dont read instructions. First time the Pod was delivered, it was dropped blocking my entire driveway prohibiting me from using it and having to park on the grass until I was done with it. When it got redelivered to the new complex that was built that we are moving to, the driver does not read the instructions again to place it and calls and has an attitude about not being there (confirmation email clearly says you dont have to be as part of using Pods is the convenience factor of that). After explaining five times to place the Pod in front of the second garage going from left to right, and getting more impolite comments such as how its ridiculous I dont know the number of the garage for the place that Im moving to (they must have been put up that day as part of the build), it culminates in the individual hanging up on me. Calling customer service to try to get a hold of someone provides no solution, as they wont connect you with anyone thats involved with actually making sure your stuff will show up, their policy is to only take the information about the issue and say that theyll send it over. This left me wondering if my Pod even made it to where it was supposed to go.Luckily upon getting to the apartment, the Pod did end up in the right spot. However, they must have been driving like maniacs because everything that had been well packed in and secured was all over the place inside the Pod.
Redelivered POD within 48 hours of ordering it. Guy said 24-48 hours notice is all thats needed to pick it up. Call up to find out there is a 3 week waiting period and they refused to pickup POD for final delivery. Meanwhile the billing cycle is in the middle of the time period, i cant opt out of insurance and its blocking the driveway. The Landlord is very angry now as are we since we cannot park.
DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! They cancelled my order without my authorization or notifying me and I ended up across the country in an empty apartment for two weeks. Horrible customer service, horrible company overall. Read their BBB reviews 82% negative. Dont make the mistake we made.

2022-05-06PODS made moving so much better. We used them a few years ago when we were moving out of state and the storage units location closed early and we had ALL of our belongings in a 26ft truck. We had nowhere to put our stuff and I started a job the next business day. PODS put out 3 containers in their parking lot for us when there closed to help us out. The customer service was top-notch!! We moved back to Ohio from NY and knew we would use them again. It made moving so much easier!!

2022-06-18The PODS arrived on time. They were clean and weather-proof. Unfortunately, when I tried to return them, they missed several pick-up dates without informing me. I had to call and reschedule three times. I was billed for an additional month after the missed pick-up dates, even though I had called ahead of time and asked them not to auto-bill me. When someone finally did come, they left a POD behind. Customer service told me it would remain on my property until the next months billing cycle, causing the same problem again. The POD container blocked construction on my property, so I told them it needed urgent removal, but each time I called in, I went to the back of the line for scheduling another pick-up date. When I begged for faster service, they told me on each call that the facility handling the pick-up didnt answer their phone. This has been a truly miserable experience.

2022-01-26PODS was so easy to use. I scheduled the deliveries online, the POD showed up and was picked up as scheduled. Customer service reps were friendly and helpful on the phone. Delivery drivers were efficient and pleasant. So easy to load/unload - great way to move!

2022-03-15Getting a POD from pods moving and storage was a pleasure! This company is so reliable and informative and quick responses! I wish I would have known about this a long time ago! I highly suggest getting a POD especially for long distance moves. Everything went very smoothly and there is an online access for everything! Definitely five stars from our family! 2021-12-02We had a great experience with PODS. It provided us time to pack and load the POD as we were able to. And the POD provided us with a way to secure our belongings, keeping them safe until we were ready to unload them.The times offered for pickup and relocation were very convenient and we did not have to wait long to have the POD moved or picked up. We didnt even to be there when the driver picked up the POD to relocate it to our new house.Also, our items in the POD did not shift at all during transit thanks to the advice on packing provided by the PODS Website. Would highly recommend this service.

2022-01-17The only issue I had was that I ordered a lock for the container from them which they did not deliver. Other than that, this was a very good experience. Drivers are professional and courteous, and kept me appraised of when they were arriving. When I called to get a time estimate on the pickup of my loaded container, the representative was helpful and got the issue resolved quickly. Would highly recommend PODS.

2022-03-06Their website is absolute trash and so is the so-called customer service chat. Not only did the person make my situation worse, they also accused ME of being on the phone with customer service at the same time, thus causing the problems. This was not true at all. The person on chat did not understand what a pull off from the road was, nor could they understand that I did NOT want to send my POD to a storage facility. When she scheduled the move to the new location the city was wrong. So, I gave up on that and at that point called customer service.After a 22 minute wait, with the terrible hold music that they seem to have stolen from a prescription commercial that was interrupted every 30 seconds to remind me of how great their terrible website is. The person removed the storage option BUT the city for delivery is still wrong and every time I tried to fix it, the website says something went wrong.Should have just rented a damn UHaul and been done with this. Moving is stressful enough - didnt need the incompetence of PODS making it worse. WILL NEVER USE AGAIN.

2022-06-24I would love to praise them, however with 24 hours until its arrival, we were told we weren’t getting one. We ordered this months ago because we are moving out of our house. No explanation- just a sorry and an offer for a delivery in 2 weeks. No, not cool I’m sorry I ever even thought of you. Very unprofessional.

2022-05-07Driver was on time and leveled it nicely for us. Ordering took a bit of time but that was due to going from military discount to a business one and back to military because it was cheaper. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

2021-11-21They lost one of my pods and were unable to locate for ten days. It often took over an hour to reach customer service - online or phone. I was promised supervisor calls many times, which never happened. They also insisted that in my destination pods could not be placed on the street, which was confirmed to be not true by local personnel. I begged them to make one call to confirm that the pods could be placed on the street. They refused and were rude. Staff repeatedly lied and contradicted each other. I would never consider using PODS again under any circumstances.
