Polanco in other cities:
Polancos is an excellent, succulent, tastefully delicious, courteous, kind and awesome restaurant. My first time was today and I will definitely go back at least twice a week. I really enjoyed their absolutely delicious food. Hats off to you Polancos. Please keep up the excellent cooking.
I love this family owned business! Their food is delicious, with their main offering rotisserie chicken, white or yellow rice with black or kidney beans. There are other food choices such as pork chops, stewed chicken, pasta, ox tails depending on the menu of the day. In addition, they have many salads and dishes made to order. The portions are always generous. The staff take the time to get to know their customers even though it is usually quite busy. Last week when I was ordering lunch for my daughter, I forgot exactly what she wanted. I didn’t have to call her because the owner knew her order right down to the salad dressing. In these times, where everything seems so impersonal, it is good to know a place like this still exists. Yes, the lines can be long, the place is small and could use a facelift but I don’t know anyplace else where I can get a satisfying meal for around $10 that feeds two people. I definitely recommend it.
I always call here for my lunch break since they make the best papaya shakes, but every time I call I have to call more then 10 times for me to reach someone. Then when they decide to pick up the phone the lady places you on hold for more then 2 minutes when she picks up the phone again she comes out with an attitude and rushing you. Stating that she doing more then 2 things at the same time. I do understand that it gets busy but you can’t come out like that if you was the one that is coming out with an attitude.
This place is amazing. I come here often. Compared to other Spanish restaurants I have visited, this place beats them all. Its really good for quick but delicious and cheap food. The portions are great. The prices are good and the quality of the meal is amazing. The owner & the staff seem very nice.
Food not so great.... the taste isn’t the best when it comes to the platters. The garlic sauce is horrible. The garlic sauce should taste authentic like other Latin Resturant’s but it’s not. The sandwiches are probably the best to buy for only $5.00. Always long lines and the employees are super slow. At times food isn’t ready and you have to wait with the long lines. Too much rice and not enough meat(pause)
Ive been a customer of Polancos for years, I absolutely love, love, love their salad with grilled chicken cutlet. The prices are reasonable, its always packed with locals and police officers frequent the restaurant quite often as well. I live in the Bronx and I make my way to Poloncos at least twice a week!
Good food, Latin menu. Rotisserie chicken, fried chicken, beef stew, fish, spaghetti in tomato sauce, yellow rice, red and black beans, sweet plantains, salada, cuban sandwiches, soups, real fruit shakes, coffee, expresso, tea, soda and juices. Theres usually always a line to wait to get served, but thats because of the good food.
Theyve got a plethora of food offerings that delight the palette. Their dishes are well seasoned and thankfully not over salted. Theres chicken, pork, turkey, beef, fish, oxtails, sausage and salami as well as soup, salad and dessert. Polancos avena (oatmeal) is an epicureal delight for the tummy.
Good morning, the chef of the restaurant is the same owner and he is a person who has to go to school so that he can get a better education... 3 days ago I went to buy a meal and I asked him in how many minutes I could pick it up and what His answer was that when the food is ready he gives it to me...and I said how many minutes it would be ready and he could never tell me...every restaurant gives an estimated time when any person...and then you tell me how many minutes I think they can be; and I told him that I dont work in a restaurant and Im not the one whos going to do it. At one point I thought it was a mess,,, but it wasnt like that... thats why its empty there... that man he has a very bad ugly attitude... you dont know how to speak a clean dialogue... thats why when polanco was there he was a person who knew how to deal with people... owner of polanco keep chatting with your cell phone thats it was what annoyed him about having to stop e. Go to work bum foulmouthed good luck friend with your way of treating the costumer bye bye !!! friend !!!!

2020-03-04Very small (just three tables), very local (puerto-rican) and very affordable place. At least, the best cubano sandwich for $6 in the city. Huge, loaded with meat and one sandwich just enough to feed 2 people. Also, chicken noodles soup is very good - thick, delicious and extremely flavorful.Lines are expected and you might have wait a little from the time to give order to pay and receive the food. Also, little knowledge of Spanish is helpful. Cards is $10 min and the place is closed for business at Sundays.

2021-08-27Delicious food but I cant give a 5 star when your customer service is that bad. They seem inconvenienced when you come in and dont answer the phone. Or put the phone off the hook, Ive watched them do it while ordering in store. Great food. If you get a chance to order.

2021-09-16Food is always good but they cater to Spanish speaking customers. I was on line 20 mins for rice becuase the only had 1 server tonight. This guy comes in and speaks Spanish and they serve him soup. Unacceptable
