I don’t doubt that this is a fabulous wine shop based on their selection. Prices are reasonable. However, I’ve shopped at this shop on several occasions, and needed assistance my first with selecting a wine that was in close comparison to a wine I previously had. Everyone seemed distracted, and delayed...keep in mind I was the only consumer at that time. Maybe I took too long in making a selection, but the person I asked for help helped another customer that came in after me, which caused him to forget about me. I purchased three bottles, and shrugged it off. The next two times, I experienced the same experience as the first. The location that this wine shop is located in the neighborhood I grew up in, born and raised. I’m 43. So, I was surprised at the nonchalant service. I still reside in the neighborhood, and I always support my community, but I’m not sure if I will patronize this wine shop.
I came here to buy wines and give them to my grandpas birthday celebration. Thank God, this shop was the best place to visit. The crews were very entertaining, kind, and helpful. They had helped me choose what was the best wine that was accurate for my grandpa. Also, I liked their place a lot. It was cool, stylish, and captivating. I will visit you again. Thanks!
Perfect little shop that curates a refined selection of wines, spirits and ciders. Unlike many independent wine shops, they feature a table of really great wines under $15 in the center of their store and put just as much thought into those lower priced varieties as their more expensive bottles. Everyone who works there is super helpful and knowledgeable too without any condescension!

This is the nicest wine shop in the area. The selection is really nice. Compared to when it opened a little more than a year ago, prices are now well-distributed. They have a nice selection of bottles of $15 or less. Also, some very nice higher priced options for those special occasions. The liquor choices are eclectic, not broad but also special. Unusual Scotch and Bourbon choices and some Cognacs too. No bullet-proof glass in the store. Nothing for the brown-paper-bag buyer here.
Cute shop with a great selection. Not a lot of budget options here but there was a Scotch rep giving out free samples of some tasty stuff, so thats a plus. They do tastings every once in a while so I would keep an eye out for those. Support local business, and especially wine shops!
This is one of the best wine shops in town. If you do not have the time to travel to a wine region, find the time to visit this shop and you maybe even lucky to taste their wines. Come and visit!

Amazing place to just grab a bottle of wine and chat it up with the owners. They offer free tasting on the weekends and they deliver if you cant pick up your order yourself. Prices are affordable and they have a huge variety of wines and other spirits to choose from.
Excellent wine selection and they have a very efficient buy online and pick up service. As an added bonus I get to support a minority owned small business😊😊😊

Not only the Store does not have a great selection, the staff or owner was very rude. I asked to get gift bags as a complimentary since I am spending $90+ ; she said, condescendingly it’s not free it’s $3, I said ok, i will just spend $20 then...then, she reluctantly agreed to give me the gift bags if I bought all my original choices! Gentrification happens in Harlem and these store owners have the nerve to be rude to their patrons. Did I mention that everything is overpriced ?!?! Yes, it is....NOT WORTH IT! I will go 5 blocks out of the way before I go to this establishment again !

Youll never bother going to another wine store in the neighborhood once youve shopped at Pompette. Selection is A+ and the staff are great, knowledgeable people. They even have a $15 and under display that is filled with great buys.
First time wine drinker. Wanted less alcohol, semisweet. She recommended the dolcemente Cabernet Sauvignon & Cesanese. Let’s hope its good. Customer service was great.
Its so nice in this shop, they always have interesting wine and alcohol choices, and the people are all cute and knowledgable. Always the coolest of vibes and fresh atmosphere. And I always like the wine they recommend.

2022-08-07I visited 3 weeks ago because I was having an event for my birthday and the man who was in the shop that day was friendly, knowledgeable, and provided great customer service. I was looking for a specific bottle of wine which they didnt have, but he found something similar. Will return.

2019-09-10There are alot of pictures of the location already so I decided to mention my experience instead. Nice setup and decor. The wines are laid out nicely without being on top of each other. There was a nice variety from around the world. The customer was excellent. I was looking for a non sweet and not too dry wine and a worker suggested a fruity Portuguese wine. Excellent choice. The girl that helped me was one point with her suggestion. (so sorry I forgot your name, update when I get back). Fiuza Alvarinho white wine 2017 (Description- Lemon color with green tinges. Aroma of tropical fruits and citrus flowers). I know sounds good especially after breaking my 3 week internment fasting. I also, picked up a locally founded Harlem and made in Brooklyn liquor Absinthe the green. Havent tried it but yet lets see how that goes.

2020-10-12I stopped over with this shop last week and ordered beers and champagne. I like the way on how the waiters and waitresses looked like. They were decent, kind, and wears a smile. Besides, the beers and the champagne that they served to me was great. Their shop was big and comfortable to relax. Honestly, it was truly nice to be here at your shop. Thanks!

2021-06-16Small shop that’s full of choice. Cashier gave me some good suggestions and I was able to find a particular wine that I’d been searching for.They have a surprisingly decent liquor selection as well. I was able to get some suntory whisky at a fair price.Will stop in again.

2021-03-30If you are looking for a quiet place to grab a glass of wine or a bottle of wine. This is your place, and you will surely love this place. The atmosphere was indeed calm and relax as well. The decorations were very fancy and elegant. The staves were very friendly and accommodating as well. This wine shop is my go-to shop. I highly recommend them to all of my friends!

Their knowledge of wine was incredible and the variety of wine they have was great. Great place to find whatever brand youre looking for. The staff was also very helpful!
