Not sure why this place is rated so high?!Wasnt impressed cold and out of almost everything. Macaroni and potatoes salads were awful.Dont get me started with the fries. Generic sodas only
1st time there, very pleasant atmosphere.. My husband ordered chicken wings, they were not crispy as I asked for real crispy wings.. Plenty of food.We will be back and try it again.. Staff very nice. Clean restrooms..We wish our best

The sides were excellent. Their sauce is very tasty. The meat; ribs and pulled pork, tender but a little bland. Very friendly and fast service.
This was our second visit to the Pond Pit. The atmosphere is pleasant, but was a bit disappointed with the food both times. The mac salad was undercooked, the fries overcooked, as were the ribs. ( They were charred and very dry). My rubber sandwich was made with a slab of beef, which was more than 50 % grizzled. The wait time for all of this was over 45 minutes. Thinking this may have been our last trip to the pit!

Listen up, not from around here and I have had lots of BBQ in my day. This place is great! The prices are more than fair and the food wont leave you wanting for anything more. Quick service unlike most places in the area.Ill say that again, this is the only place in the area that its okay to go to hungry and expect to get fed before you eat your first born.Disregard how things look on the outside, its obvious that it is under construction at the time that Im writing this review. Check out the takeout window on the right side of the building as youre facing it from the road.
Amazing meat and friendly staff. My only criticism was the mac n cheese was a little underwhelming for my wife and I. Especially since there is an upcharge to have it as a side. I would recommend they add some bread or cracker crumbs to the recipe.
I had a great time and a couple of beers and watched and listened to the band Bad Habit, it dont get any better than that!!
We were driving by and saw the BBQ sign so we made a u turn and checked it out. We got the pulled pork sandwich with mac n cheese and the Ruben sandwich with mac salad & coleslaw. Oh. My. God. The food is INCREDIBLE!!! This is a must stop if youre in the area!!
No table service for food, after waiting at the window listening to the cook staff, no ribs, no pulled pork, no pulled chicken. This was a Saturday afternoon! Prices higher than Syr. Nope.

2022-05-01Its dry rub BBQ in a loud atmosphere. When we went you practically had to pistol whip someone to get seat. The Mac and cheese It was okay, the fries where rely good and the brisket was good. The bun for the sandwich however was pretty dry. I would not go out of my way for it but I would not turn down a dinner date to go.

2022-04-05Friendly staff and the food is great. They do a really good job with the barbecue here. The inside is cozy and they have a wood fireplace. My wife is vegetarian and there are plenty of good things on the menu for her as well.

2022-05-28Drove here all the way from Syracuse to see a friend play music, and I was completely blown away, the place was awesome. I truly believe that I had some of the best BBQ that I have ever eaten, and I am picky about meat. Can’t wait to go back! Everything was perfect, the only word of advice I have..either expand or open a 2nd location!!

2022-06-15Stopped on a Friday afternoon after hearing so many great things about the place. Music was very loud for such a small place and a few tables went outside because you couldnt even talk.We had 2 orders.... One order was ribs (ordered baby back, they were out so got St Louis)with fries and beans. Other was brisket sandwich with fries and cole slaw.Fries were awful. Cold, greasy, tasted like they had been sitting....just bad. Beans were overwhelmed by garlic. Table next to us said the same thing because its the kind of friendly place where everyone asks what did you get so we were comparing notes! Lol.The meats were both very, very good! Ribs were fall off the bone tender and the sauce paired with them was great. Brisket was also very good.Not sure if they just need to tweak some recipes or what but well give them another try.....

2022-06-17Stumbled by when working in the area. I was there when it just opened for the day so it wasnt busy at all staff was friendly. I got the brisket sandwich and 2 sides beans and Mac salad. I wasnt mad at any of it and there was none left. Not the absolute best bbq in the world but Im happy I stopped in. I will be back

2022-06-07I come here often and honestly the meats are good- and sometimes fantastic. Ive had the brisket one time and it was very dry, i passed on it since i wasnt that hungry and my friend ate it. The chicken wing dip, the burnt ends, smoked chicken wings and the baby back ribs have been good. But the sides are less to be desired. The Mac N Cheese is real soupy and the cheese doesnt stick to the pasta even- no taste at all. I just had the salt potates this pass weekend- and me and my friend have no idea how they messed them up- but the consistency was very werid- maybe micro-waved back to hot- or not cooked enough. I literally had to spit it out in a napkin. The fries are fresh cut- you either love them or hate them- I hate them. So soggy! We ordered the half chicken with the salt potates and fries this past weekend- we only ate the chicken. Really hope the sides improve- the location is great and also fun for watching SU games.
