Popei’s is my go to spot for seafood now. Everything is so fresh! We got the blue point oysters and thai calamari for appetizers. Both amazing. The cocktail sauce that came with the oysters had a kick to it, which i loved. For dinner, we had Linguine with the works in white wine sauce, also delicious. Its was the perfect dish to try alittle of everything. The service was great!
For over 30 years Ive been coming to this spot the food is spot on the service is A1 once again thank you Joey especially thank you Billy for making my night perfect!
Rena the waitress was phenomenal, there was 20 of us and she got every order RIGHT,… Joe the owner came out to sing Happy Birthday!!!!! ALL The staff were friendly and accommodating, even the Valet guy!!! Awesome Time!!!!!!
My first dining experience surpassed my expectations. The moment that Ive walked into Popeis the two hostesses gave me a warm greeting. Our friend was celebrating a birthday and one of hostesses took the cake and placed it in the refrigerator. Janice was out server.. warm engaging and made recommendations for us. When our entrees arrived, not only was I impressed with the portions, all of our entrees arrived at once with the help of other staff members. Janice was kind enough to give us time to enjoy our entrees but did check in to make sure we had fresh beverages. Janice brought out our friends birthday cake and had the staff and other diners join in wishing our friend a happy birthday..he was completely surprised. The owner/chef came by our table and gave us a warm welcome. I will definitely come back to Popeis. I recommend the broiled seafood platter..delicious 😋 👌
Our waitress was extremely friendly, pleasant, attentive. She showed us great hospitality. Always made sure were satisfied or if we needed anything to let her know. The food was delicious😋I told my friends and family. Everyone was awesome! I will be returning
My girlfriend and I passing through from the beach and decided to sit at the bar. A-1 customer service , food quality , and atmosphere. The food portions are generous and the whole layout of the restaurant was intimate and cozy. Sue our waitress was extremely hospitable and would love to go back just for her service. Thank you to the staff for an amazing experience!

Delicious! I came here with a party of 8 and each one of them enjoyed the food! Service was great too! I deducted one star for drinks. I wish they were a bit better about drinks overall. The mixed drinks werent that good and the biggest issue everyone had was the sodas were flat. Overall great place to eat seafood.
Valet parking is free.. , I ordered the expecting lobster dish it was $55.00 since the price was not on the menu I asked for the price. Great food, great service, ask for Diane to help serve you shes so helpful and patient..the workers even come around to ask if your enjoying your food. Also good drinks.. I would come back.🙂
I prefer this one over deer park location. Ive gone back several times and each time I try something different and its delicious. Always great customer service. Update: This time Joe came out who is also the chef to ask us personally how the food was. Nice personal touch!
I flew in from Phoenix az I missed having the best seafood ever .Garlic bread just melts in the sauce .The muscles in garlic and white wine is the best just look at that dog food bowl of mussels delicious!!!!Thank you HOTRODED
LOVE THIS PLACE. it was packed on a Friday night. The cocktails are beyond amazing. Friendly staff great portions. If youre going with a 3 or more people you should get a reservation. I cant wait to go again
We have been coming here for years now. The drinks are not bad but I and Rose do not big drinkers. The food is always good. Had a problem once once and Joe the Boss fixed it without any issue, just fixed the problem and made it rite. Who can ask for anything more.The food is good but cost has real gone up over the years. I understand that seafood is not cheap so we do not get there as often as we would like but for the special occasion it is always in the mix for consideration.
No doubt, Best Seafood Restaurant in Long Island. If you read this review believe me, call and make a reservation , you will be their vip. Best service , food, drinks. Staff goes way beyond to make you happy. Owner and manager check on you if everything is going well. I don’t know about your experiences but I was greeted by the manager, Javier. the manager took our drink order, We saw him making them and then brings them our drinks to our table. The drinks were amazing, we requested our drinks made by him all night. I felt like a vip in a papa’s momma restaurant.

Where had this place been all my life. The staff, fantastic, welcoming and friendly, even the owner is that kinds cool guy you should have in your life.Decor is inviting without being too much. What your really here for us the food which doesnt disappoint, the claims, fresh and flavorful with no overcook chewiness. The Thai calamari is a hit, with a light batter and flavorful sauce with a touch of heat.Clam chowder can be enjoyed all by itself. My shrimp fettuccine is light and flavorful with tasty perfectly cooked shrimp. Again no idea where this place has been but Im already planning my second and third trip and may bring the family.
The amount of amazing hospitality and friendly service is incomparable. From the moment you walk in you feel like family, even if its your first time. All the staff have incredible positive attitudes, just sound like theyre genuinely having a good time along with you. The food is excellent and the portions can be really huge. Some plates are easily large enough to feed 2-3 people, if not more. They set up an outdoor tent for outdoor dining that accommodates social distancing measures, yet still accomplish a lively and fun atmosphere. The owner even stopped by our table to welcome us and gave us free mason jars on the way out. Impeccable customer service all around, well definitely be back!
Popeis was the first restaurant my wife Selene and I went to 26 years ago after moving to Long Island. We have been back there over and over with friends and family through the years and have never been disappointed. Food, staff and owner are the best.
Very nice place to go eat. The staff there are very welcoming. You feel like and old friend. The food was fantastic and the waitress was spectacular. Will definitely go there again.
Was there for dinner last nite group of seven, no reservations. Was told only tables available were in back under tent. Best time and meal weve had. It was only us under tent. Our waitress Geegee was great. Owner came out several times to check on us , very attentive. Great restaurant to have close to home. Thank you.

Updated:The service from the owner and manager are phenomenal. They went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. The food here is delicious and is the only place on long island I will go when I want seafood. They definitely satisfy.
Incredible food. The Grecian stuffed lobster was simply to die for. Celebrated a work accomplishment here and the waitress offered a celebratory dessert of ice cream and chocolate cake. Lovely service and an all around wonderful experience. I cannot wait to return and try more of the many fantastic menu items.
My family and I enjoyed this place . The appetizers-garlic bread and the Thai calamari was delicious. Good service. Didn’t love my main meal but everyone else enjoyed there’s.
The staff here is very pleasant and professional.I was very much disappointed with the food, I can’t seem to understand all those great reviews, there’s nothing special at all about what they serve. They’re menu needs to be simplified, it’s all over the place and they are severely overpriced for basic food. Depending on when you go, there’s a bar next door that makes you feel like you’re in the hood.

Called to make a reservation which they had a table available for 7pm. We arrived around 6:45 and we were seated immediately. Our waitresses name was Mary and she was amazing. She took the time to suggest items and explain what each dish we asked about was. We ordered the baked octopus and the Thai calamari. My husband loved the Octopus and the the Thai calamari was very good, it is a little spicy so if you do not like spice I wouldnt suggest it. My husband and 15 yr both got the Linguine with the works and added a lobster tail. They were able to take away anything they didnt like and add more of another thing so it was perfect. They both enjoyed their meal very much. I ordered the Popeis Power which was amazing. It was a lot of food with lots of seafood in it, I wasnt able to finish the whole dish. We did not have dessert as we were to full but I did order a the drink special which was very good as well. It was Bourbon with lemonade and it had a nice kick to it. I wasnt sure which drink I wanted that or the Sangria so Mary brought me a sample of the White Sangria. I went with the drink of the day as the sangria was a little sweeter then I like. Overall we had a great dinner and would definitely go back.

Dined with my family of six over the Memorial Day Weekend the place was packed. I noticed the popularity of the clam bake as soon I got in the dining area. Hostess seemed a bit flustered but the waitstaff made up for that not so warm first encounter. The food was amazing! Food portions are generous. I ordered the king crab leg dinner and a side of corn. Very satisfying, and the crab meat was perfectly cooked. My hubby ordered the surf and turf (steak and lobster tail) he was smiles the whole time. Mother-in-law, ordered the clambake, (it was love at first sight) the portion was huge! She took half of it home. The kids were treated like royalty. Our server was fantastic! The restrooms were clean. Valet parking available. A great experience will definitely go back and recommend to other seafood lovers!
I absolutely love this place. Whenever I’m home visiting, I have a standing date to come for dinner. My go to is the crab legs (this visit was scampi style), and a side of linguine with white clam sauce. The menu is huge and so are the portions. Seafood is always fresh and the staff is great. Personally, I think it would be a great add to the DDD family.
Spotted this place off the main road always wanted to try it, we definitely wasnt disappointed. Service was great no wait to be seated, staff was super friendly. Food was great well prepared and enjoyed every moment of it. Atmosphere was welcoming and everyone was having a great time. Would definitely go back.

When my dad died in 1982, the recipe for his spicy Manhattan Clam Chowder died with him -- until we found this restaurant by chance. I couldnt believe it. Popeis just may be a smidge better, featuring big chunks of flavorful potatoes, carrots & real clams, with flavor that comes from hours simmering on the stove. You KNOW I dived into my hearty bowl, along with the gargantuan serving of linguine smothered in red clam sauce, real succulent clams that tasted of the nearby sea! Loved the warm garlic bread they serve before you order & the servers who warmed my heart & cracked me up. The selection here is huge. This feels like a real mom n pop heritage restaurant run by a gifted chef -- he took over for his parents, grandmother -- who came out regularly to make sure each & every diner was happy. And we were! Id take a trip to NY JUST to eat here. Minor quibble: iced tea was lukewarm to room temp. Id stick w/soda.
Dinner time here is always busy but, thankfully, there is valet parking. Lunchtime was a great way to enjoy the excellent food and company as although there were plenty of mid-day diners we got a table and our food speedily. We enjoyed the creamy Seafood Bisque, flavorful, zesty Mussels, and Shrimp Spectacular. Since we both doubled up on the tasty garlic bread, we skipped dessert. You can enjoy both lunch and dinner menus during the day. There are also nightly specials to tempt you even further. The atmosphere is casual and the food plentiful. The Mussels had an abundance of garlic, wine and butter so much, so the bread was a bonus in mopping up the delicious broth! The Shrimp Spectacular, aptly named, was just that. Large size prawns topped with both bacon and cheese making this dish especially rewarding. Day or night, youll be glad you went to Popeis.
We ate dinner outside. It was really nice. The music was great!! The waiter was really good. Our food was fast, hot and good. The drinks were cold. Dessert was insanely delicious. This was my first time there. We went to celebrate my birthday. I cant wait to go back again! This is my new go to for seafood place!! They rocked!!
5 stars and 1 OMG! Were visiting from Arizona and wed come back just to eat at Popeis!Even with a filled-to-the-brim dining room we got the friendliest service and amazingly fresh, delicious seafood. Our waitress Janice was wonderful, the chef even came out to check on our satisfaction with the food, and when we left they were just as nice with smiles and well wishes.The valet service was quick and easy, which was essential considering the limited parking availability. The decor was very nice and there was room enough for our party of 8. The portion sizes were large enough to share and the food was fantastic, nothing like Arizona seafood.My favorite part (besides everything) was the crabcake appetizer, gloriously flaky crab meat with a sauce to die for! Highly recommend Popeis to anyone in this area!
Amazing place to come have dinner. The food the service the food the atmosphere just perfect. We all ordered different thing except the kids. They had shrimp and crab legs my self and the him had baby back ribs on the special and I had the clam bake on the special. Everything came out perfect I would definitely revisit this location again. We had a server named donna Marie. She was okay. Very attentive always checked back. Filled our drinks up when asked and was just an all around great waitress. The service wasnon point.. the tables were kept clean and the staff were friendly and always checked up on the tables. I would def return to this location. And if your wondering our bill came to be about 250 for all the food apps drinks. Not a bad deal if you ask me. Perfect place for any occasion.
The owner its very friendly and super accommodating. The entire staff was very polite and helpful. This restaurant its very good for a family style dining because the portion was large. We ordered two pasta dishes for two people. However, we couldnt finish even one of them. Both dishes were very delicious. The oyster were very fresh, and its highly recommend. Each table came with a bread basket automatically. Its great for dipping in our clam chowder. This is one of the places that offer a mix of the Manhattan and the New England clam chowder. It turned out to be very delicious. We really appreciated their restroom because our son had been potty training and needed to use the restroom a bit more frequently. The restrooms were also very clean. Thank you for you hospitality
This place was surprisingly amazing, the food was great and the service too. The ribs are finger licking good, the seafood delicious and we couldnt get enough of the side bread amazing taste. We are coming back really soon too try all other items in menu.

This place doesn’t need my 5 star review because they have plenty but boy do they deserve it! Upon entering the pregnant hostess was so sweet and inviting. I felt so comfortable. My waitress was perfect too. I started with the Long Island which is half clam chowder and half red chowder. It was so freaking good. But the Crème de la crème was the clam bake. I mean the seafood was fresh and the garlic butter sauce was phenomenal. It even comes with a side of pasta which is perfect to dip the sauce in. The waitress even packed my leftovers in an aluminum platter. Valet service was fast and great. Management deserves their props because they clearly know how to run a professional and successful restaurant. I will always come back.Word of caution though... at night the area looks a bit seedy. So if dining alone I recommend coming during daylight.
The food and service was amazing. When youre here, it feels like home. I ate every bit of my food & drank every drop of my drinks. I definitely would eat here again.

The only thing wrong here was the waiting period, but they still deserve the full 5 stars. The service of the staff was very warm and welcoming, they brought us in even when we were waiting in the freezing weather and have us seated at the bar. We got our bread and drinks on time. Also we received our entrees so quick after we put them in. I’d definitely come back here! I ordered the expecting lobster.

The crabs legs along with all the other seafood is great here. All you can eat crab legs on certain days is so worth it but it gets very crowded expect a wait of call a head.
Always fresh. The owner Joe is such a sweetie and I’ve been coming here since I was itty bitty. Always fresh oysters and the best n.e.c.c (New England clam chowder) Definitely always a great meal and their garlic bread is addicting as always!
Lots of people rave about this place. Tried this place a few times now, and felt the food missed the mark. Amazing atmosphere and fantastic service, but food didn’t deliver. Lobster was overcooked, very tough and stringy. The shrimp was either too fishy or maybe gone semi-bad. The one great thing they seem to nail every time is the crab legs.If you’re going for just crab legs, I can recommend. As for the rest of the menu, it was disappointing.
Mussels are fantastic. Thai chili calamari is delicious. Clams with white sauce wonderful. Service is great. We ate everything so fast I didnt get pictures, except desert! Briana was out server, excellent. Spumoni

I dont know why I dont come here more often. Especially that I only live less than 10 min away. I used to come here more often when I lived in queens. The food is always magnificent. The service superb!! I love how personal the wait staff gets with you. Im going to make it my business to come more often now. Portions are good sized and good flavor. I need to come for the all you can eat snow crab legs one day!
Food is amazing been going there for 20yrs. They have a variety of food so if you dont like seafood they have steak, Italian food and other food as well. You know the good old saying you always pay for what you get.
I took the kids shopping and after they were hungry. We were heading to Texas roadhouse when we spotted this gem of an eating place. We were seated immediately for a party of seven. The food was the best my kids love seafood and we have eaten at a lot of places before but Popeis is the best. The staff was amazing and made us feel comfortable. Our server came over often to check if everything was great. We will definitely be coming back. I enjoyed my Lobster lover meal from the dinner menu.
My best friend took me here for my birthday. She basically ordered everything off the menu! Everything was great and I got a goody bag to take home! Great food, nice ambiance and the staff are very friendly and courteous.
I definitely like deer park better this experience was bad they didn’t have a whole lobster service was rushed my order wasn’t correct I didn’t complain tho they definitely need bar rescue to save them
The food was great but I messed up and didnt get or servers name she was excellent. Different people I assume were the manager and cook came over to make sure that we were OK. We only had A party of eight but everyone enjoyed their food

Loved the mussels! We had the bucket of mussels and they were fantastic. The portion was huge too. Plenty for 2 people to share. It was prepared relatively quickly. The staff was very friendly, very accommodating.The atmosphere is super chill, very casual. You gotta come have a few drinks and enjoy some super fresh seafood. Definitely recommend.

Best seafood I ever had! Awesome staff, super clean, delicious food! Me and my family had calamari for appetizer it was so fresh the best calamari I ever had!! For dinner I had there snow crab legs also so delicious and fresh and perfectly prepared. Definitely the best sea food restaurant out there! We will be coming back soon!

Went here with my son who was in the mood for seafood. Krysten the waitress was great. She seemed very happy and friendly and very attentive. My son had muscles clams and shrimp over penne with oil and garlic. I have the broiled seafood platter. We both loved our dinners. Very fresh and flavorful. Will definitely be going back.
The staff were very friendly and receptive. The restaurant was well maintained and clean. I had the fish and chips and was pleasantly surprised that they use flounder instead of Haddock or cod fish. The seasoned curly fries were a great substitute for regular fries.
What a wonderful place. I absolutely love it here .we had the skirt steak special that came with shrimp and lobster a salad and side. We also got the snow crab dinner with side and salad the oysters and the seafood bisque. Wow everything was just so good. We got the tiramisu and brownie Sundae and some coffee with Baileys for dessert. It was just so delicious. I use to come here years ago and finally got chance to come back. It didnt disappoint. It was just as I remembered..the staff and the owner were all so sweet. We will be back next week.
Wont go back:. Very Disappointed with the quality of the food, some portions were very small and I felt our meals were Overpriced. The shrimp scampi tasted like it was soaked in oil, not a pleasant buttery sauce. The soft crab shell was very skinny and the cost was very high! This restaurant has changed over the years from Good to Bad. This wasnt just my experience, but those who dined with me, too.

One of the best time outs I had in a while. The service was impeccable before you even walk in the door the staff were welcoming and helpful. We parked in the wrong parking lot and when we asked if it was OK they said it was a tow zone. The valet over heard and said oh just give me the keys and I got you. Then we lucked out and got a table right away the hostess was really nice and funny. Then when we sat down we got bread right away and the waitress came over right away. She was very sweet we told her we had a time constraints and she helped us make it out in time for our movie. The food was amazing . The seafood was fresh and the rib eye was great as well. The seafood there is better than anyplace on the water. We are definitely goingback!

My uncle brought me here a few years ago and it has been my favorite seafood spot in all of NY. No matter what I get, its absolutely delicious. The bread is phenomenal also. The people are pretty great too. Ive introduced this to my boyfriend and insisted on other friends going. They are also now hooked.

Great food hot and fresh not to mention tasty. Generous portions of everything. We had the fried calamari and it served for the four of us as an appetizer, the garlic bread is phenomenal. The food was so much everyone took their food home. Yup I loved it and Im going back soon. The only thing I didnt like was the coca cola. It didnt taste like Coke, it tasted different it didnt have that ahhh refreshing Coke taste it was a little flat and exceptionally sweet. Other than that great family restaurant, very warm an welcoming. My son loved the Shrimp fettacine❣️

On 7/28,I visited this restaurant in bethpage for the very1st time.I have been to many restaurants(Ive even traveled the world just to visit famous restaurants across the globe).I am a black NYer in my40s who is a foodie born& raised in the S Bronx.grew up culturally on WestIndian style cuisine, eating@restaurants such as MarkSpot in Queens& Footprints in BK. My family&friends would also go to Sammys fish box, lobster House& many other restaurants in CityIsland. Ive been to restaurants in the city w/elaborate expensively exquisite architecture&interior designs such as Blue water grill,Sea fire grill, Benjamins,empire,Wolfgangs,Keens Steakhouse etc. All these places had great food&for the most part good service(except for a few disrespectful blunders on behalf of some staff members... looking at you see fire grill in Manhattan). However, Ive been eating at multiple restaurants in a somewhat40-year time span, visiting upscale top notch restaurants, Brazilian steakhouses seafood restaurants chop shops etc even celebrating exciting moments of my life at restaurants such as Grand lux Cafe in garden City NY, GaloTavern18& 02KoreanBBQ in Bell BLVD Queens. But on this Sunday in july, I was going to visit a restaurant in woodhaven BLVD QueensNY called London Lennys however they were not open. So I gave Popeis a shot.Once I entered I was immediately greeted by2women w/smiles on their faces. Visiting multiple restaurants throughout my life, I often speculate if the employees are genuine or if they are just being cordial for the sake of the job(which is not necessarily a bad thing).The women here at popeis greeted me, made jokes w/me&I can tell that the staff gets along w/each other by the way that they interacted w/eachother.I even noticed that a few addressed eachother w/nicknames, showing that there was great camaraderie among the coworkers that probably extended&existed even outside of the work atmosphere. a 3rd woman, I dont remember this older ladys name(maybe Marie?)she told me shes Italian.I was appreciative how she was so friendly&professional towards me; she actually spoke w/me, making me feel as if I was a neighbor who lives close by her or another person she knew growing up in the same school she attended (thats the feeling I got & I think the best way to try to describe and compare it).I felt very comfortable being there, because the rest of the staff co-signed their gratitude for seeing me&having me as a guest&customer. It was a very warm feeling. Honestly, this was different, this felt like it may have been real. Even those who didnt speak but as they walked by doing their jobs&made eye contact w/me, walk by w/smiles on their faces acknowledging my existence&that I was a guest at the restaurant, showing their appreciation for me being there. On 8/22, during the hurricane, many places were not open for business. Popeis was. So I placed an order to get takeout. Once I arrived, again just like the month before I was greeted very warmly, professionally treated&felt as if I was among close friends. This is what causes me to believe that perhaps the affable decorum of the staff is genuine, since I do not believe they recognized me from the month before, yet still treated me w/the same type of warm open arms. Although I was ordering takeout again, 1 of the waitresses even offered to help me carry the food to my car&joked about going outside in the rain w/hurricane winds w/me. I told her she did not have to yet she helped me to the front door with the food. let me bring up that the food is amazing! Everything I have ordered so far Ive loved! The lobster, the crab, even the sides! The clams (baked& fried), the shrimp& other seafood are outstanding! Great food on top of great service is just a great restaurant. The atmosphere is similar to other seafood restaurants.Nothing too ostentatious however it is neat clean&comfortable.I also noticed that the pricing for the food is reasonable compared to other restaurants in the same elk.
Awesome service. My daughter took me for my birthday. We got in right before the Sunday crowd...it gets pretty busy by 1:30-2pm. Very few can make my Hurricane right!!!
I went on Friday night November 6 for my birthday party with a group of friends in the tent. They treated us like gold from the time we got there till we left. The owner Joe came out a few times to make sure everything was going well. The food was prepared to perfection and dessert was real good too
Today was my 3rd visit. I drove 55 mins from Brooklyn. I swear this restaurant NEVER fails. Excellent price, fresh good food, and most of all A+ customer service. I feel like im on a hidden camera show or something because its just that good. Our server Janice is EXTREMELY attentive. Its sorta creepy(in a good way 😄) that as you just about sip the last of your beverage, Janice is back with refills. AMAZING service. Worth the drive and I will highly recommend. Oh and the fact that the head cook or owner always comes around to great and make sure everything is OK says alot. Good job. 👏 👏 👏 👏
This place was a recommendation from a friend, and a very good one. Called while en route and was able to get a table Joe who took my reservation was very pleasant and cheerful. Choose to sit outside because of our new norm, the converted the parking lot in the back but it was quaint. The food was amazing and that went well with the service. Everyone was all smiles and thanked us at every point for coming out and supporting. Then I met Joe who turned out to be the boss. He was very pleasant and the coolest thing he did, went to every table and thanked them for coming out. And with that I would definitely return.
What can I say? I love and have loved this place for many years. We used to come here when my grandmother was alive and gorge ourselves on the Old Late night menu. Some people may say they are pricey but you absolutely get what you pay for here and that is Excellence.

Went to celebrate my mother in law birthday. Service was outstanding and the food was absolutely delicious. Every was cooked to perfection. Drinks were delicious as well.
Great place. Fresh food. Excellent dailys specials. And of course the drinks arent too shabby. Valet parking every night too.
Highly recommended it was phenomenal food good service however the place is really tiny and very packed getting to and from the bathroom was difficult but due to the service and the delicious food I still recommend it it seems to be one of the locals hidden gems
I came to the restaurant expecting to be wowed and I am so upset to say that I wasnt. Our seating arrangement was accomodated quite nicely but thats about it. Sangrias ordered were watered down grape juice. We had 5 guests, each time they came to the table they brought dinnerware/silverware and water for 4. Then forgot to bring the extra place setting when requested multiple times. The appetizers were enough for one person (4 shrimp with 5 people?? Calamari for one)? Then the worst part was the bus boy-now Ive worked in catering before, you dont swarm the table constantly asking to pick up plates. You dont ask for a persons plate when they havent even put fork to mouth. We felt rushed to eat and get out. Two of our guests ordered the same dinner from the specials menu and they both returned it, it was schlacked with sauce and overcooked. Everything, outside of the company we were keeping and the waitress was just so disappointing all around. As Im writing this the bus boy is probably stalking someone else for their plates.

Delicious food and hands down the best service in town. My server Andrea was super attentive to the needs of my husband and I. She recommended the Thai calamari which tasted A-M-A-Z-I-N-G and a Cajun boil special which was yummy. I highly recommend this restaurant you will not regret it.

The valet parking attendent was friendly. The hostess actually was nice enough to squeeze us in without a reservation. The waitress and the entire serving staff was polite and moved food and drinks real well. Everyone was great. The fish was amazing and the steak was awesome. Portions were huge... Everything was wonderful. The hostess waitress and the chef. The service was great and the food was very good. I love this restaurant because everyone makes you feel welcome. The chef comes out to say hello and make sure that everything is okay. We had a group of 23 and everything was perfect. Everything was seasoned and well-done, from the surf and turf to the snow crab legs the sea bisque soup and the shrimp fettuccine.

What a fabulous time, great food, sangria and atmosphere. A definite visit spot after a rough couple of months. Staff is welcoming, accommodating and genuinely pleasant, which is nice. Safety precautions were in effect and the restaurant was spotless. Yes, I looked. I had ribs which were delicious, flounder was perfectly prepared for my sister n law, clams prepared with the right flavor. No complaints and we were a party of 10. Thats pretty incredible. Oh! refills on the soda. Definitely will be back. Kudos!!!

Popeis is the best Seafood /Steak Restaurant. The staff is always friendly and hard working making sure that the customers are satisfied. During the pandemic that are super cautious with spacing out the guest and they have partitions between the tables. Had a wonderful time celebrating my daughters birthday.
Besides by far best fresh tasting in all their seafood (baked, steamed, boiled) delicious and very Generous portion in todays food cost, most friendly staffs, will definitely be back.

I was there for my wife Bday! We sat at the high top top they called, service sucked we waited 20 mins to get our drink order another 30 mins to appetizers I finally left paid for drinks but I couldn’t take it anymore! Totally sucked I’ve been gone there since I was 10 with my parents very disappointed

This place was AMAZING! Excellent food, terrific service and a very casual and comfortable atmosphere. I went with 2 friends, made last minute reservations (without a problem) and we ate like queens! I started with an appetizer of delicious crab cakes, and for dinner I chose the ribs....everything was cooked to perfection. As for my friends, they both had the All you can eat crab legs AND BOY DID THEY EAT! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, I cant wait to go back again!

We have been coming to Popeis for a few years now. Every time we go its always great food and a warm welcoming service from the staff makes this place one of my favorite places to eat. The owner Joe is hands on, and a very nice Gentleman.
The service was great, the food is absolutely delicious, and the ambience was cozy romantic. Had a great time with family and friends. Theyre appetizers are huge servings of deliciousness. Theyre garlic bread melts in your mouth. And the entrees are out of this world. Definitely plan on going back.
Heard about this seafood restaurant from friends and family over the years but for some reason I never came. Friday night I finally decided to come see what the hype is about. Parking lot is tiny but they do have valet service which is cool. I arrived around 6PM and Im glad I did. This place gets super crowded fast! Ordered the clam bake, popei sampler, clam chowder, chicken fingers. The seafood was extremely fresh. Clam chowder was tasty and the baked clams was also very good. The staff here are extremely friendly and competent and the owner makes his rounds greeting diners. Prices here are very reasonable. Highly recommended and I shall return!
Portions were huge and delicious! Looking forward to visiting again...it was worth the trip from Yonkers.

I went there for dinner tonight with my family we actually sat at the bar to have Dinner. Steve The bartender was absolutely awesome he was super super friendly he knew everything about the entire menu and made some great recommendations, The owner Joe stopped by every once in a while to check on us and to see if we needed anything which I thought was very very nice and gave our stay that personalized touch. Our Dinners were Fantastic, If you are in the mood for seafood or just some great great food I definitely recommend Popei’s Clam Bar⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This restaurant is my preferable place. Of all restaurants I know I like it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to visit this restaurant. when I want to go to a good supper, this place comes immediately to my mind. outstanding and diverse food and a large list of dishes.helpful staff members, and pleasant spirit. Also, the cost is honest. I suggest this spot with great pleasure.

The food did not have a lot of taste. The service was excellent thus 4 stars though food was 3 stars. They were also quite busy and it felt like we were being rushed. The dinner came out before we were done with our appetizers and the staff was hovering over our table to grab our plates.

My sister-in-law and I went here for her birthday last week and a really nice night. The food was delicious! The atmosphere was very comfortable and upbeat. Everybody was exceptionally friendly and helpful. From the valet person to everybody in the restaurant. It was a pleasure. I will DEFINITELY be coming back. We had a party of 6 on a Saturday night. Even though restaurant was crowded we were seated quickly. The seafood was delicious (except for the basic salad that came with dinner). Coffee and dessert were fabulous! Everything was run in an organized manner. Our waitress was lovely, friendly and helpful. Valet parking was run very efficiently also, considering it is a small parking lot. Best of all was the hostess (?), ToniAnn! She was amazingly helpful, especially in making sure my elderly mom was comfortable. She was funny, kind and went above and beyond for us. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
First time here. Food is fresh and comes out fast. Servers are super friendly and very helpful. Prices are not bad either. I like the separations in place for covid indoors. Im a seafood lover will be back soon!
Delicious food! Seafood tastes like they went out back and caught it immediately before serving. Freshly baked bread is delivered to the table, and its something that must be tasted! The staff is very friendly and attentive! They really need to expand, because this place is MUCH too small for the amount of people who WANT to be served!! Very lively atmosphere. Lots of laughing and loud conversations around, so its not a quiet, romantic type place if thats what you want. Price is as expected for fresh meat and seafood.Highly recommended!!
I have a lot of food allergies, for example cheese. All the staff as well as Joe the owner did everything possible given last minute noticed to accomandate my needs. I am greatful we where able to work something out making my experience there wonderful. All of you are in my prayers, be blessed in the name of the lord Jesus Christ.

Love this welcoming seafood/ Italian restaurant. It was right on time after attending a graduation.It wasnt crowded we were seated immediately. The hot bread was next, and it was damn delicious!!.I almost forgot i had food coming.The food was quite good a variety was offered. My brother ordered a seafood sampler plate for 9.99 that didnt have alot of food. It was a sampler so what did he expect. Everyone else had full plates. The atmosphere was pleasant. Nothing fancy, but nice, cool and definitely clean. Service was perfect and on point. Kudos!!.

Ordered take out and the food was nasty, $200 down the drain. Steak burnt wanted it medium rare, seafood was not fresh tasted frozen and old. Never again! Must have changed chef.

Amazing place first visit. Had the Thai calamari a must have great sauce and the mussels with pasta and marinara. But even better than the food is the staff. Very friendly and I wish all restaurants were this awesome. I will so be back.
Great experience. We had mussels, sampler platter, wings and stuffed artichocke. We also had drinks. All the food and drinks were great.Our waitress Nicole was nice and informative. What I also appreciated was they are not rushing customers to flip a table. They let you enjoy your dining experience.I would highly recommend.
I really enjoyed coming here for the seafood, it definitely tasted fresh. The proportions were definitely bigger than I expected as well, which is a plus considering the plates for the most part are upwards of $20. The decor is a little stale, but its got a reputation for good seafood and it held its own in that regard. I would definitely visit again someday. 👍

Not my first time here, but it was my first time for the all you can eat crab legs. Food is great, the crab legs are delicious and they come out steaming hot! Service is relaxed but good. With regards to regular entrees and food, its a great seafood spot. Portions are sizeable and it isnt overly expensive. Highly recommend this spot, especially for the all you can eat crab legs.
This place is fantastic! One of the best seafood restaurants around. The food is always excellent and the portions are huge. Very friendly and personable staff all around. Wait time without reservations is typical at peak hours, but reservations for a party of eleven were honored within a ten minute window each time.
I know this place and the owner very well. Ive been going there since the early 80s. food is fantastic, Service is great, portions are very large and I feel its very fairly priced for what you get. They also have a nice bar with TV, and a fish tank for the kids to look at. Ive been there for parties aswell as with dates. whenever I can get there Im there. thumbs up!! five stars!! PS. you might think to park across the street, they have a very small parking lot with valet

As always the food and service are impeccable. We celebrated my wifes birthday today with our children and were treated like royalty. Nancy, our server was on point and so were the the other servers as well. Cant wait until my birthday in April. Although, Im sure that I will be returning much sooner. Very good service and all you can eat crab legs are reasonably priced. We have been going here for years and Popeis Clam Bar will be a Long Island Institution if it already has not attained this status. Joe does a very good job and his staff from the hostesses to the servers and bus staff are excellent.CONS: The wait as this is a very popular place and the seating can be a little sardine -like.

2022-06-06The oysters and clams were excellent. Service was decent but not great. The cooked food also was decent but not great. Overall I would recommend this restaurant. Dont go in with ultra high expectations. The owner or chef did come to our table to ask if everything was okay. I do appreciate when they do that.

2022-06-06Me and my boyfriend had a wonderful time. Lets start with the appetizer. The shrimp is plump and delicious topped with mozzarella cheese and bacon cuts. Second the buffalo wings are honestly one of the most delicious buffalo wings weve had! Crispy, crunchy, and tender with a lot of creamy bleu cheese on the side. Classic buffalo and so packed with flavor. Now for the main event! I ordered a ribeye. The steak was incredibly juicy and bursting with flavor. My boyfriend ordered had a creamy pan seared flounder and buttery shrimp and really enjoyed it, was gone in minutes. Neither of us had room for dessert. We both agree this place is definitely worth visiting again.

2022-04-25My family of 14 came here for the first time today to break our fast for Ramadan, it was AMAZING, from the food to the staff to the accommodations they made for us, they went above and beyond!! Seating was perfect and comfortable, food was out of this world, so fresh so delicious, the presentation of the food its self was on point, i cant even explain how amazing the staff was, they had our food out on time, frequently checking on us to see if we needed anything, i have never experienced amazing food and staff, we really appreciate everything you all did to accommodate us and will defiantly be back SOON! Definitely try their lobster ravioli and Thai calamari , coconut shrimp.Lobster ravioli was nice and creamy.Thai calamari had a nice Thai sauce drizzle. I could not stop at one.Coconut shrimp was good.Also they have this addictive buttery garlic bread. It’s like “crack”.

Awesome Food and Drinks and an Amazing Staff!I absolutely loved the Salmon with Shrimps and Mango Salsa and a Baked potato on the side.The Restaurant was busy on a Saturday night but we were seated and served pretty fast. Our food was served fast, hot and Delicious. The Bartender was on point with the mixed drinks.Highly recommend Popeis Clam Bar!
