The Manager was very unprofessional. The website says there plain large pizza 11.00 and argued with my husband at Restaurant when picking up 3 pizzas and when I called. The Manager was not aware my husband was in the restaurant and was making fun of my husband with a customer. It does state 11.00 but it wasnt about the 4.00 difference it was about the rudeness. I called and she would not give me her name and hung up on me. I have plenty of choices to get a pizza and it will never be at Popes again. I will he calling the BBB on them.
The pizza was huge and delicious..... The sausage was amazing and the mushrooms were canned, exactly how I like mine on my pizza.... The price was nice and low for the amount and quality of food.... I dont know if this is the case here, but to me, a restaurant that only takes cash, would possibly help the pricing of their pizza and meals. That to me is awesome and worth the sacrifice of not allowing credit cards. Great job Popes and I look forward to coming back!!!

This place used to be the best. 10 bucks for the best cheese pizza, you couldnt go wrong... until they did. They never pick up, the people on the phone are always rude, they decide to be closed whenever they want or when they will deliver. Its national pizza day and they only are accepting carry out and cash. On national pizza day for Christ sakes. Popes, you are dead to me

Gave over a weeks notice for a large order of 13 pizzas for a graduation party. Pick up time was 12:30 Saturday. Was assured that it would be no problem. Even told someone would be in early to make sure order was completed on time. Arrived to pick up the order with 50 people already at the party to find a hand written closed sign on the door! No call that they wouldnt be filling the order! Sorry to say that after over 20 years of going there, no longer giving them my business. Thank-you to the pizza place down the street that was able to fill the order in 40 minutes with no notice!
Best Pizza around. Takes me 20 min to get there. Worth the trip. We actually purchased a pizza carrier that keeps the pizza warm during the ride home. Keep up the good work Pope!
Stopped on a whim because the family was hangrey. Clean. Nice staff. Food was great. Had antipasto, pizza slices, subs hot and cold. Ate all we could and managed to bring some home for later. Left full and happy. Five stars

This place is super local, you really feel like this is for local, forget the fancy look, the super service, the nice ambiance. This is pure hard core nothing exciting good food. Ozzy Osbourne playing on the radio, the wife ballistic about screwing the romantic dinner. Drinking her brisk directly from the bottle. Best place to really feel the real life of locals.The service was super nice, the local lady with no other option but to work here. Shutting down the fan because were cold and saying: I like to climb every once in a while. Dont come here for good pizza...
Popes is our Favorite Pizza!! We have been getting Popes Pizza for over 20 years!! We dont live in Saratoga, but go out of our way to get it there. Perfection...every time!! Perfect balance of sauce and cheese!! YUMMMMMM!!!!

Went on a Saturday night, there is no air conditioning so the 1 waitress working will be sweating her ass off when she serves you and everyone else in the restaurant. Absolutely no ambience. Pizza is mediocre bordering on bad...no flavor in the sauce or crust. Pasta tasted like a TV dinner.Look elsewhere, youve been warned.
I was referred by a fellow Amtrak passenger and Saratoga resident years ago but never got there. And recently by a professional contact. I recently stopped by and really enjoyed the pizza.
First time here. Im a deep dish, thick crust lover, but their pizza was really tasty. Great portion, sausage was very good.

Havent been here in years, but this was my favorite pizza place when I was at Skidmore in the late 80s/early 90s. The pizza was excellent then and I hope it still is today.
Low prices for good food. Close to the playground so its perfect for a summer lunch treat and afternoon to play. It is cash only and I wish they had delivery though.

2022-07-04Ordered from Popes twice now both times has been pizzas and mottarella sticks. The pizza is amazing!! From one day to the next the pizza quality does not differ. Thin crust, cheesy, one of the best in Saratoga for a pizza joint. Will order again from Popes. Be prepared the man who answers the phone is rude- one word responses and whispers. However, because the quality of pizzas I can look away at his rudeness. Prices are inline with other shops 2 pizzas and sticks under $45-

2021-11-10Pizza is ok, could be very good however with more cheese and if my toppings were not burned as they were. It is indeed NYC style and probably somewhat better than most of the garbage sold as pizza around here except for Venezia and Primavera (both exit 9) which are indeed very good. Most other local places have no idea how to make traditional pizza (such as Nove in Gansevoort which is absolutely terrible). The guy working there was unpleasant. disinterested and looks like he needs a vacation (and quickly). Bathroom was dirty.

2020-10-21If youre interested in real pizza(not the organic or speacialty kind) this is the place for you. I go during my lunch break. The Pizza is fresh, hot, and thin-crusted. Its got the perfect ratio of sauce to cheese to bread. There is a little crunch in the crust. Its absolutely amazing. If youre in the mood for pizza, and you need a fix, Popes is the place.

2020-01-01I am from New York City and live now in Saratoga Springs. This pizza shop is the only restaurant in the area that serves true NYC pizza. All the others are phonies. The atmosphere is very casual. They only accept cash. Once in a while I get a pie that is a little over done, but I still will go no place else. Nobody is perfect! The price of a pie is very good. I do not order anything but pizza, so I cannot comment on the rest of the menu. Try a pie!
