This place is horrible!!!!! If I could give it zero stars I would. I have been to this location on 3 times and each time was worst than the last. The first time I went through the drive thur and waited 20 minutes for my food and my order was wrong. The second time the manager with the black hair was extremely rude because I asked for hot sauce and was supposed holding up the line for checking my order. Which I wouldnt of had to do but the first experience was horrible. The last time I went through the drive thur again and it was the same manager. She told me the amount and I gave her my card. After running my card a few times she tells me the drive thur POS isnt working. She asked me to come in and try it on the front counter POS. I thought she was joking. Why would I come in if you are 5 steps from the front counter. I asked her if she could run it and she gave me an attitude. She ran my card a total of 5 times. Because of this my card locked. This Poppeys needs better management and training. I wouldnt recommend a dog eating at that place.

They said they cant serve us 10 mins before changing to drive thru. yet were standing g around. no one in the store. so we went to drive thru and we heard them say it would be 20 mins. before they can get a order out. we left. so sad,they really need management there to over see what the problem was. never again. we stopped as a last resort, as we had a late flight and had the new chicken sandwich. which was decent. it doesnt take 20 mins for anything they serve there. so very unhappy
Very disappointed, love their chicken, but showed up for lunch today and was told that the only side they had was French fries. I immediately cancelled my order and went to the competition just down the road. I can understand running out of one or two sides....but almost everything. So sad.
Terrible customer service, took me 15 minutes to finally receive some help and while i was being help, the “manager” was laughing and talking to the girl helping me. So on-top of the 15 minutes, it took nearly an extra 10 minutes to place my order with them talking and laughing with each other. And when my son received his tender meal, i paid for 6 he only got 5, and my wife’s chicken sanwich was cold as if they gave us someone elses. We come as a group after our meetings and this was just disappointing. The other group members will be sending their reviews as well because this was just terrible. Overall would not recommend and if you’re truly craving popeyes chicken, at this point i would travel to Shirley or even Centereach rather than coming back here again.
The girl working the drive-thru can use some training in customer service. Asked for sauces and were dismissed with an attitude and told to come to the window to ask for them (okay, no problem)...got to the window and gave my credit card had to ASK for it back...as im driving off i realized part of my order wasnt even in the bag. This location should really get their act together.
Riverhead ny Popeyes were out of biscuits, gravy, coleslaw and premium frozen lemonade. The chicken had a heavy grease odor and was the least appetizing of all the Popeyes. Two others and myself who ate this chicken all became ill with G.I. upset. This was reported. One star for this store because its mandatory you leave at least one star. Steer clear folks.
What a difference between locations. Ive visited the Patchogue location a couple of times, and always been quite disappointed. Ill-prepared food, sold out menu items, unkempt dining room conditions, ugh.The Riverhead location however was a pleasure. A spotless dining room, much better prepared food, and the staff could not have been more friendly and professional. Ill definitely be making this a future stop when Im traveling to the East End.

Popeyes makes the best fried chicken and the best chicken sandwich, hands down. Sometimes they run out of things but overall a good place to grab food.

Good good, but drive through is the worst. Took the money, and had me pull to the side to wait for the order. It took 23 minutes to get my order. Too many other places to get good food.
It was my first time trying Popeyes and my experience was very good. Their chicken was nice and juicy and their fries are the best I just couldn’t stop having them. I also loved their famous chicken sandwich and loved the overall experience. The price is reasonable and I would definitely choose Popeyes over other fast food option. I will be back to try more things on the menu.
Food was so good!! I got a three piece chicken tender. The breading was super crunchy and the chicken wasnt over cooked. Well worth the money, the prices are really cheap and they give big portions. Will be back again, I highly recommend!
Food was fresh service was excellent my one and only complaint is they didnt give me the proper amount of tenders 6 piece only gave me 4 so I payed for six and got less I think the workers need to be watched It was my second time here and both they made mistakes. Last time the famous sandwhich was soggy old tasting not crunchy at all the fries were soggy and they forgot some things from my order I said ok strike 1 today was 2 hopefully management sees this so we can discuss the issue at hand

Wish I could give a half a star, I asked for our meal be bagged separately and the lady told me one bag per car I also asked for multiple orders the manager on shift rudely slammed the window open and said only one order per car couldnt separately order our food. Staff seems to be very rude. Never will return!
The food has gone downhill since they opened. Its tasteless, tiny portions, and the spicy chicken was barely spicy. Whoever is running this location, is not doing a good job.
Im only giving this a two because the chicken was not bad.Now to the story. The service was bad and the managers were to busy talking to customers they appeared to know.They had no chicken tenders ready mild or spice.I waited a half hour for them and they gave me regular chicken pieces .They forgot my coleslaw..The other customers waiting were starting to rebel due to length of time and wrong orders. Also the cashiers were pretty indifferent to what was going on .This place needs a big overhaul.
Very salty, not to mention expensive. Biscuits were salty, chicken was salty, Mac and cheese was salty, green beans were good, mashed potatoes were a weird texture, fries were good. $30 for a 12 piece family combo. My order was not ready at the window, I was told 5 minutes, and it took 10 minutes. The staff is very friendly. I know this is fast food and wasn’t expecting miracles, but there’s no reason for the biscuits to taste like you are licking the salt shaker. My kids refused to eat it. Nastiest people I’ve ever met. I went through the drive-thru and I was trying to order when the girl was cutting me off, talking over me, “is that all, is that all, is that all” not even a second after I told her what I wanted. Then when I asked what she said she gave me an attitude and yelled at me! And then huffed and puffed like I was inconveniencing her in some way. I drove off the line as fast as I could. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I never post bad reviews but I’ve never been treated like this at a fast food establishment in my life.
Does not even deserve one star....... EVERY TIME WE GO THERE IS NO CHICKEN...... your a chicken place how can you not have chicken?!?!?! Every time we go, no wings no breasts or just two spicy breast left it’s 6:30 pm how do you not have food! And your a new restaurant in the area been open for a few months now makes no sense!
Every single visit within the last 5 months resulted in an incorrect order. Go inside to correct and there is constant confrontation about the order....
When I pulled up to the window they told me they were only accepting cash… maybe put a sign or have someone outside letting customers know before they wait to be told cash only. Or maybe fix your machines.

Terribly ran establishment!!! There’s no screen at the drive through, therefore you don’t know they screwed your order up till you get to the window. Took forever and after the manager took my order she insisted I didn’t order a medium drink even though she repeated it back correctly when I first ordered. Then to top it off my total was $21.76 I handed the young inexperienced cashier $25 and didn’t realize I was only given back .24 cents instead of the correct change because I was already upset because I had no drink. Chicken was dry, mac n cheese was bland and the biscuits were rock hard. Highly recommend not going to Popeyes in riverhead.

Customer Service is terrible, I wasnt greeted, the cooks dont wear hair nets and hair was in my food. The food was just thrown in the bag. I ordered a chicken sandwich instead I recieved 2 chicken tenders on a bun. The staff was touching their phones between handling food.
Love popeyes fast service and delicious food
It’s hit or miss, the other day we went through the drive thru and we wanted 3 separate boxes of tenders for 3 different people but they kept insisting that we do these meal combos with less food and basically we all got confused. Then we wanted 2 sides for 2 of the people and they again insisted we do something else that we didn’t want to do and they didn’t like that we denied these combos and other deals. We had to ask them to repeat the order because they kept making the tender boxes into combos with fries (no?) and they got fed up and told us to come directly to the window.If there was a screen outside it’d be way easier for us to figure it out, and not even have to ask them. They did get the order correct.I get they’re new so it’ll probably take some time before things smooth out. It’s not terrible, I liked the chicken and we’ve also ordered a large family takeout order that was delicious.
The food was great, hot and fresh not microwaved like most places do today. In and out very quickly. Very very tasty!!
First time ar Popeys. Got #9 the chicken was not spicy and was bland, almost tasteless. The French fries had no salt or seasoning. Had no flavor. For a si called Loisianna style food it was flavorless. Wont go back

Get the chicken sandwich. The window is a little far from the car try to drive as close as possible. The drive-thru is a very strange angle. The inside is generally like any standard Popeyes but this area has more of a eclectic crowd.
Weve waited so long for this restaurant to open and I have faith they will get it together soon. Had to wait a few more weeks for them to offer meal deals that were advertised. When the lunch rush comes in its a little crazy.
They Cheap out on their large sides.Come Slaw was only 3/4 full.With a 10 PC meal, thats not adequate for 2 people.Very disappointed

Not the speediest service for sure but i have only been to popeyes in riverhead on 2 occasions so they may have been shorthanded on those days .but of those 2 times i was here the food i ordered was nothing special,there was nothing wrong with it in any way. i just dont think there will be a next time

They dont have any promos you see on TV then when you order an expensive family meal that you really didnt want they forget items. Hopefully it will change.

2021-12-27I really did not enjoy the chicken here and dont know why its hyped up so much. The chicken fingers were flavorless. Their cole slaw is absolutely awful. Not the worst meal Ive ever had but I cant say i enjoyed a single bite. And for the price... yikes. KFC wins this round hands down, and their food hasnt been better than just good in 20 years.I might go back but only for a cup of the sweet tea because I love sweet tea and I hear its good, but I was misled to think their chicken would be good so who knows...

2021-11-03Cant go wrong with Popeyes. This location is cleaner than most other Popeyes Ive been to. The blackened chicken was tasty and healthy looking. Got the 30 piece nuggets but they werent as crispy as the last time I got them. Overall worth going to if you are looking for fried chicken in the area.

2022-01-09Wish I could give negative stars with this review. Not friendly service from the employees and they treat you like a problem to them especially if you are not Spanish speaking. Dont tell you that the items you ordered are not available at the moment and send you on the way with half of the order in the bag . Call the store to complain and get the phone put down and get ignored from the employees.

2021-11-10Popeyes is lovely and has some great fast food if thats where your taste buds are taking you.However this location is a bit bothersome, drive thru was difficult to work with, food didnt seem that fresh, and items were missing and/or were replaced with different items. I get the feeling they didnt want to waste their time making fries and tossed a different side in and sent us off.

2021-11-12Nearly every Popeyes I have been to gets orders wrong and are rude, but at least they serve me. This one didnt take my order for 4 minutes, so I asked the guy coming out the back door if theyre open. He said yes. After a few minutes longer, I just pulled around - there was nobody else there anyway. Nobody was at the window and nobody could be seen. Decided to just go to taco bell lol apparently nobody works here.

2021-12-31Was a bit of a wait in the drive through line. Didnt have most of items on menu I was looking for. They forgot my rice which I had to travel back & get. Cashier inside was annoyed @ unapologetic.
