Chris at Posterfix has now repaired/restored/linen-backed 6 rare vintage Cuban posters for us - 4 silkscreens and 2 offsets. 4 of the 6 posters were literally torn in half and the restorations are excellent. The prices are very reasonable. Chris also takes genuine interest in the posters and the story they tell. This appreciation comes through in his work.
I send in 3 vintage circus posters to Chris at Posterfix to restore and linen back. Chris did a fantastic job and Im thrilled with the quality of the restoration and the end results! His attention to detail and quality of the restoration was incredible. Thank you Chris for the hard work.
Chris and the team at Posterfix have successfully brought a number of my damaged vintage posters back to life. Communication is clear and prices are affordable. The results are phenomenal and hard to believe. If you are considering getting your old posters archivally linen-backed, touched up, and preserved for future generations, there is simply no other place to go!
I sent them a vintage The Big Caper poster on November 30, 2018, for linen backing and restoration. I was told it would take 3-4 weeks, which was ok with me because it was supposed to be a Christmas gift for a friend. Fast forward to January 22, 2019, I still hadnt received my poster and Chris hadnt updated me. When I inquired as to why I hadnt received it or an update, he replied telling me it would be shipped out the next week. Fast forward to February 23, 2019, I had to email him AGAIN because I still hadnt received my poster. I had to file a claim with PayPal to get my $184 back and I told him I wanted my poster back as it was my property. This man is a liar! He finally returned my poster after I filed BOTH a PayPal and a Better Business Bureau complaint. He also stated in an email back on Feb. 23, 2019, that the poster was 95% there. HE NEVER EVEN STARTED ON IT! Sure, youll probably find some good reviews, but you really need to pay attention to the bad ones because they are accurate. This was my first time using him and will be the last time. He has a Better Business Bureau rating of an F. Below are photos of my poster taken 3/8/2019 after he sent my poster back to me claiming that they were 95% done.
I sent Posterfix my severely damaged Hondo poster for restore. The team took the utmost care and restored it to its original glory, including painstakingly recreating John’s eyes. I would highly recommend them for any poster restoration, from a simple linen backing to a full blown restore like mine!
Posterfix restored our disintegrated, shredded, mangled posters beautifully, with meticulous archival artistic precision, and at a very affordable price. Chris Cloutier explained the archival restoration process to us and then delivered our fantastic historical posters on time and on budget. The skills and craftsmanship he offers—and clearly has a passion for—are on display in his YouTube digital shows. His enthusiasm and passion for his work are infectious. You appreciate the history of these posters and the great knowledge, experience and care he puts into restoring every poster. I strongly recommend and highly endorse Chris and Posterfix for providing your poster restoration needs.
A poster I value highly was damaged and, after researching, I chose Posterfix and could not have made a better choice. It did take a bit longer but was so worth the wait. The work is amazing. And the company was very responsive to my questions. I would used them again. No question.
Its one thing to provide a linen backing service, and its another to be able to perform the nuanced and often painstaking work of poster restoration. Ive had one-sheet movie posters backed by Chris in the past, and theyve been perfectly fine. The process takes awhile, but he got the job done, and to my expectation. Where he truly shines is in restoration. Chris and his wife are truly masters at their craft. I sent him a couple real doozies last year- I mean crumbling, incomplete, water stained and bug eaten (the water/bug poster was 5 feet tall, to boot)- and he knocked them out of the park, plain and simple. Words dont do it just justice...which is probably why Chris maintains an excellent YouTube channel documenting his standout projects. Im proud to say one of mine made the cut (check out the Steamer President video on the Posterfix channel. Amazing.) The artistry they employ is remarkable. Chris also does a laudable job as a historian and researcher. Art and history are clearly held to the highest regard by the Cloutiers, masterfully interwoven and reflected in their work. Just watch the videos. Seriously. You have to be passionate about this stuff to make a life and a business out of it. Some reviewers give Chris a bad rap for his turn around time. Yes, its slow, but I mean think about it: Its an incredibly small family business doing incredibly specialized work. If you want a Star Wars one sheet linen backed in time for your sons birthday next month, this may not be the place to go; for my restoration needs, however, I cant imagine going elsewhere. And for the record, Ive never had an issue contacting Chris and getting an update on my posters, either by phone or email. Just make an effort and call. Youd be surprised how well that works in a wide array of applications in customer service. Hes a friendly, affable guy, and he works hard. If I need other restoration services for myself or anyone I know, Chris will be my only choice, the go to guy and my sole recommendation, no contest. It is a business I am happy to throw my support behind.
Chris restored a 1930 poster that had multiple creases, missing pieces, tape and restored almost like new. Chris is a real professional and an “artist” in restoration. Not only was the restoration perfect he returned the poster completely protected tube. If I had another poster he would be the go to person to restor
VERY pleased with Posterfix. The job was fast, exactly as quoted, and very fair priced. The workmanship quality and communication back and forth was first rate. HIGHLY recommend anyone thinking of using them to try it out. I know that I have more work that I am sending them.
I am a first time customer of Posterfix. I found two Keith Haring posters from my wifes past in our storage facility. She had purchased them while attending a concert in NY in 1986. One had been torn apart by mice and the edges ripped, the other had the paint stained and a few rips in it also. Both had to be completely restored. I sent them to Chris and 3 weeks later received an email with a full video link of Chris repairing the two posters. I know very little about the poster world, so my wife and I were very excited being able to watch him completely restore these two poster. Thanks to Chris my wife is a happy wife since she can now display the poster in our pool room. Great Job and will definitely be using Posterfix in the future.
Posterfix is my first and only choice for the restoration and linen backing of my vintage concert posters. Chris most recently did an amazing job on a large Grateful Dead poster I had with extensive rolling creases and a missing corner which he artfully replaced.Posterfix is the best in the biz!
As a first time Posterfix customer, I am impressed and very pleased with the results of their work. Chris and his team transformed my vintage poster from a scrap to a work of art. Their You Tube videos about their work process are informative and well worth watching. I highly recommend Posterfix!
Ive been taking my posters here for years and Chris has always done an amazing job. Ive given them several challenging pieces including posters with tears, missing pieces, and insect damage. The work has always exceeded my expectations. Ive brought them everything from half sheet posters to Italian 4 sheets. If you have a chance, its fun to visit the shop and see what Chris is working on; hes extremely knowledgable about graphic history and the poster market. Hes also a great resource if youre looking for a specific poster. I will continue to take my posters here!
Posterfix is the only place I will send my posters. Chris and his staff are like magicians in the restoration of my cherished keepsakes. He has done many rock and roll posters that were ripped to shreds for me, linen backed movie posters and even restored and 7’ tall bull fighter poster from the 1940’s that had literally turned to dust on every fold line. He transformed it into a masterpiece that I have framed and hung in my foyer. Chris is a master craftsman in every sense of the word and has always been extremely fair with me. Can’t wait to do business with again!
I had a great experience with Chris. It took a bit longer than promised, but for the craftsmanship it was worth it. I had two vintage posters that originally hung in an airline office. Chris matched the colors perfectly. I couldn’t even tell they had been restored. Chris communicated with me just fine. I’d use him again.
I was not able to find anyone local to linen back my poster. I found Poster Fix online and it seemed that the process they use is what all of the poster backing outfits use - send the poster to them, pay them the fee once they assess the work, get the poster back after the work is completed. Chris did a great job backing my Blazing Saddles poster. The process took a little longer than he had indicated and there were small gaps in communication but overall I am very satisfied with the job he did with my poster.

2022-01-14Brought Chris at Poster Fix two movie posters. Halloween 1978 first printing (My most cherished poster) and Halloween II 1981. I had both posters linen backed, touched up along the fold lines, and minor thumbtack holes fixed. The posters came out great! They look as if they were printed yesterday! If you have a valuable or cherished poster, Chris does an excellent job for a reasonable price. Thanks again!

2022-01-13The Artists at Posterfix are just that...artists. I was very impressed by the experience and abilty of Chris and his team. When I first began using them I was impressed with how they painstakingly restored my vintage poster so that it looked like it just rolled off the printing presses. From then on I was hooked. I have used other poster restoration houses in the past, but when it comes to quality workmanship and ablity this is the only place I will use going forward. I only wish I could give them SIX stars! Thank you Posterfix

2022-01-22Chris restored and linen-backed four German propaganda posters and one Bob Hope USO poster for me. The restoration was more than I ever could have expected and the quality of the final product was awesome. Not only was he super responsive to any emails or contacts, but he made videos of each restoration which were really impressive. I would recommend Chris and his team to anyone. What an amazing talent!

2022-05-19I have used Posterfix three times and I am always pleased with the results. Two posters, including the latest one, were linen backed and looked great -- smooth, edges clean and sharp. Color was restored to another poster, bringing to life a poster that was crinkled and faded in so many places, and then linen backed. It looks like new now. Deal with confidence!

2021-12-16We brought Chris an early twentieth century French advertising poster that was torn from the top to half way down. His restoration was fantastic. It was completed in a reasonable amount of time and communication was good. Chris is a true craftsman and artist. Put your faith in him and you will not be disappointed!

2022-03-07I am grateful to have found Chris at PosterFix and incredibly pleased by the work theyve done on my Wizard of Oz 1955 re-release 3 sheet. Im currently curating and producing an exhibit for Judy Garlands centennial and have a lot of posters in need of restoration before everything goes on display. I found Chris to be incredibly professional and at the top of his field and his prices are very fair. Im incredibly pleased at how beautifully the 3 sheet turned out. Im looking forward to bringing more of my posters in for restoration in the near future. Thanks, Chris!P.S. I also wanted to send some love for a second poster that Chris restored for me. A very rare 3 sheet from Meet Me In St. Louis. I was considerably nervous about restoring this one, as there are only two copies known to exist. Chris blew it out of the park with this one and Im incredibly excited to include it into the Judy Garland exhibit Im working on this June.

2022-02-04I gave my poster to Chris 7 months ago to remove a stain from my vintage Pootie Tang poster. He said it would be no problem and he would have it done soon. I have been eagerly awaiting looking at my poster, as it really tied the room together but he has not ben answering his calls. I think he is keeping it for himself since it is quite valuable. I honestly wish I would have just removed the stain off of Chris Rock myself, but its too late now. Hopefully I can get it back soon. Really sad. Be careful who you give your business to.

2021-07-27Chris is a magician. I had an old set of house plans from 1934. They were torn and tattered. Chris mounted them on linen and repaired them. They look amazing, far better than I expected. I cannot imagine there are many people who can do such excellent work. Highly recommend.

2021-06-10I recently found Chris and his talented staff at Posterfix. I have been having restoration of my posters and other items for over 35 years and the quality of the work done by Posterfix has exceeded anything that I have ever had done! Not only is the work that Chris and his talented wife do Top Notch, but his communication all along the process is fabulous! He keeps me informed throughout the process, sending me pictures and video of the work. His prices are extremely fair, the work is great, the communication is fabulous! What more could I possibly ask for? Posterfix is my Go To place for restoration. I highly recommend it!!
