Shhhhhh... this place is a GEM! Great staff, especially Kelly, love her!! Bryah, the owner is always around making sure youre happy!! The food is fantastic and delicious! The beer ...you wont be disappointed, great selection on tap as well in 16oz cans... and they dont hold back on the liquor in their mixed drinks... Word of advice.....Get there early if you want a spot on the deck cause its sunny and the atmosphere is relaxing!!
Friendly staff, amazing food & entertaining musicians. You can’t beat this place. ❤️ it! Family run, hardworking staff & home cooked meals. This place should be on everyone’s short list to stop into on a regular basis! Not to mention their new catering facility. The Barn at Powers is breathtaking! It’s the perfect place to celebrate an event. We had an open house to celebrate a promotion and it was beautiful! Gorgeous building, amazing food, plenty of drinks , we just added our family and friends!! Powers made it a perfect celebration!
Giffys is simply wonderful to work with! We had our wedding at their Barn in Clifton Park and they catered for us. Their food was delicious and we received endless compliments on how amazing their service was. Kelly was our go-to and she made us feel so special and cared for!! I would recommend them 10/10! Good people all around.
Was really expecting a better experience overall. Upon entry greeted by a waitress who rudely told us shed get a host when we asked basic questions about the establishment. We get seated in a basement area and proceed to order our drinks and food, which the drinks were pricey and the food.. well.. I was severely disappointed in the meatloaf. Bland and overcooked with no added spices. Gravy was not a secret recipe of any kind. Charged extra for tiny cup of dressing I ordered to add some.level of flavor to the dish. The flies that joined us at the table were much more attentive than the waitstaff. For the price it was not worth the drive out of the way or the investment of time. Will not be returning.
My husband and I decided to take a drive over to Powers Irish Pub in Clifton Park, NY for a late lunch. We hadnt been there in quite some time and were glad to see that the food was still as good as we remembered. We were seated in a small dining room upstairs and had the room to ourselves. Our server was friendly and attentive. We ordered pretzels with pub mustard for an appetizer and they arrived promptly and steaming hot. I ordered Sauvignon Blanc and was pleasantly surprised by the high quality and taste. My husband ordered the meatloaf entree and declared it delicious. I ordered the Shepherds Pie and loved the scent of rosemary along with the delicious mix of hamburger, vegetables and potatoes. We will definitely go back and try some more dishes. Enjoy!
Great service dining in a charming and rustic historic tavern or takeout located at the bar - fast and friendly. Something for everyone on the menu which has basics with flair. Another reviewer mentioned the Shepherds Pie is a bit salty and I would agree. Generous portions.
I wanted to love this place. I would much rather go to a locally owned restaurant than a chain. Read great reviews about the food. Was disappointed. Service was great. Appetizers were good. Dinners not so much. I could have moved on from it, but an Irish pub that serves instant mashed potatoes, shame on you.
This place is always a win. They have a great selection of taps, cans and bottles and the food is better than you might expect in a pub. Moreover, the staff here go out of their way to make you feel at home and a lot of effort goes into accommodating kids and bigger groups. In particular I have to compliment the bar staff; they go above and beyond every time.I recently went to an event at their new Barn, which is absolutely beautiful and a very cool space. Definitely a prime spot to have a party/event.
Powers Irish Pub does not disappoint, we stopped by after the restaurant dining restriction was lifted. Service was Quick and responsive to our needs and the food was AMAZING! Highly recommended! Powers offers a large menu with great lunch and dinner options as well as a always updating alcohol and on-tap beer list. We will definitely be going back soon.
We went in on one of the busiest days of the year day after Thanksgiving with no reservations and a group of 7. Had to wait about 45 minutes. Sat at the bar and hung out listening to music. Sat down got our appetizers quick and had great food. Staff was so nice and warm. Great time will definitely be back
Oh this place is great! I went for the first time last friday and i loved it so much that i went the saturday after as well. The place is like an old house that they turned into a restaurant. Very cozy. Both times i ordered something different. The NY strip steak and the next night i got the buffalo chicken salad. YUM! I also ordered the chicken wings with the whiskey BBQ sauce and they were also very delicious. i should mention the fries are amazing! No ketchup is necessary lol. I was eating so many fries that i almost didnt have room for the main course! Anyway, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Great service. My new favorite place. Next time i go i will take a couple pictures
Went for lunch. Nice atmosphere. My salad was really good but I did not care.for the french onion soup. Our party of 6 was sat at three small square tables pushed together which was fine except not one was leve and wobbled terribly. Made for fun with two small children.
A surprisingly cool place! Its kind of out in the middle of nowhere, so I didnt have high hopes. Turns out it just means they have a ton of parking and they need it! The open patio is gorgeous and very comfortable to chill in and sip a beer. They have a very impressive beer list to boot! Lots of local craft stuff. The food is pretty expensive. I went for one of the cheaper options this time, which was a full serving of their Irish Nachos appetizer. Ill admit that I was already a couple beers in, but the nachos were pretty great. A huge portion that seemed... fair for the price, relatively.I would give the beer and atmosphere a solid 5/5, while the food was more in the 4/5 region. Definitely plan on checking out more of the menu, both food and beer, when I have some extra cash to blow.
Great service. FAST service. Where else can you get a Lobster Pie in a unique barn/pub setting. We didnt have reservations NYs Eve and they said they could probably fit us in. Bacon wrapped filet was delish. Chocolate layer cake my wife loves and even though it was moist, I thought the flavor left more to be desired. Looks like a great place to go with kids. Going back for sure!
Great selection of beer, food, and liquor. Irish fare, plenty of salads, burgers, great appetizers. Good draft beer selection with some local selections. Surprisingly good selection of bourbon, scotch, gin. We sat in the pub which was a great casual atmosphere. Theres also a dining room for families or more quiet dinners.
Great food. Its an Irish/American mix. Its an awesome structure filled with history. The service was impeccable. The food took a little while to come out but it was well with the wait. The beer selection isnt your run of the mill beers but it is a great selection. I highly recommend it. Every time Im in Albany I make it a point to stop in.
Amazing staff and customer service. The beer selection is perfect. Mike is always on point and the wings at Powers are killer! Love this bar so much. Has a at home feel and always a good crowd. My type of place. Also in the summer they do live music on the patio and the parking lot is easy to get a spot. Its close to other local places so its right in the main stretch of Clifton Park. They even have certain nights where Brewers come and promote new ales and brews!
Great food and a great staff at this historic site/restaurant. My waitress took time to make recommendations and even changed the TV channel for me so I could watch a football game.Got the Shepards pie and a few mixed drinks (which were fantastic in concept and execution) as well as cheesecake for dessert. The entree was great and the cheesecake was alright but a little warm when served.
This is a fantastic hometown pub! The atmosphere is friendly, cozy, and welcoming. The food is only surpassed by the service of the staff. A number of stand out folks behind the bar, Jen, Mike , and Aileen will make you feel like your at Cheers! The owner Bryah is a top notch person and will make sure your expectations are met or exceeded! If your in the area, go there and drive right past all the chains on the way!
My wife and I wanted to try Powers Pub so we stopped by. Once we got there, the outdoor patio was WAY too full so we figured we would just order takeout and bring it home, no worries. When I call, I was told that they werent accommodating any more to go orders. Definitely rethinking whether we want to try going again.
Food was great, large portions at lunch and reasonably priced. While our server was friendly, giving four stars because she missed a few things - seated our group without any silverware, napkins, or drink menu. Lots of back and forth and having to request things that should have been a given, waiting for check. Our apps (onion rings a fried pickles) arrived and we waited for her to come back to the table to request napkins and utensils before diving in.***Update*** we ate lunch on a Saturday in January.
I want to preface this with the server was very pleasant, attentive and an overall pleasure. That said, I was hoping for better. The food was sub-par. I would like to see the food take a step in the right direction with more fresh, locally sourced products.I would rate my meal a 5/10, but see the possibility for greatness there.
What a great surprise! Matt, our waiter, was a gentleman and extremely pleasant and efficient. The pub food was exceptional..and the ambiance is so charming. Feels like I could walk out and be in the Irish mist. The drinks were also delish! Cant wait to come back with family and friends!
Met a neighbor and friend of mine for lunch. The beer was excellent but the food was mediocre at best had a maple bacon cheeseburger the bacon was barely cooked. Couldnt even try to eat it it was just 2 slices of pure fat. The burger itself was good but it came on a soggy bun and the waffle french fries was good but that about it...I would go there again for a beer but I dont think I would eat there again...
Have always loved this place, and the staff is amazing. Mike does an awesome job behind the bar, and even when he is busy will turn around with a smile and a friendly greeting! We were here on Tuesday for the beer and burger special, and was not diasappointed. While we came in for a regular burger, when we heard the German themed burgers, we couldnt resist. Although its usually happy hour on the weekends for us, we will be adding Tuesdays to our schedule as well!
Food is inconsistent and customer service is poor. One time I ordered crab cakes and they had a lot of crab, and another time they were 95% bread crumbs. I was told a different chef was on that night. The owner came to the phone when my take out order was missing items and was defensive. He said he would send me a gift card in the mail, took my address, and never sent it. Clifton Park has many great places to eat and Powers won’t be seeing us again.
Ive been to Powers pub several times. Ive found the shepherds pie to be the best around Saratoga county. Well, we called to make reservations for three. We were told that its not that busy tonight on a Saturday night?? and reservations werent needed. We arrived at 7pm as well as another couple, who also called to make a reservation. We had a 20 min wait and were seated in 15 min. Our waitress did ok accept she forgot to put in one of three dinner orders. The shepherds pie. My wife and daughter were served thair dinner and there I sit, waiting for mine. I started to share my wifes food with her and the shepherds pie came out about 18 min later. I noticed that it wasnt completely prepared properly so I returned it. The manager lady came out of the kitchen with the shepherds pie and started to argue with me about what was wrong with the food. I found this to be unprofessional. We then ordered desserts. The cheese cake looked great. After digging in,my daughter noticed a hair on it. We returned it also. No visit from the manager in regard to the cheese cake. The manager never offered anything make up for the unfortunate experience at such a well known establishment. Although Im not sure that I would consider returning due to the arguing manager and her inabilities to overcome from our unsatisfiing experience. And I didnt get to have what I came to Powers for in the first place. Shepherds pie.
Great food, great atmosphere and great service. My BF had the curry chicken which he loved and I had a pork tip special which was amazing. The pork was so tender and the summer ale sauce on it was delicious! The large deck outside was nice, but it was too hot outside to sit and eat, so we sat inside which is very charming and full of interesting history. I was able to walk around to see all the interesting photos on the wall, and the beautiful character of this old building. To think this place used to be a house! I also have to mention the bri in a puff pastry we had for an app. All I have to say about that is OMG! Amazing!! I cant wait to go back. Hopefully we can sit on the deck next time when it cools down. I hope you have as good of an experience as we did! Enjoy!! 😉
Bear and I decided to have a late Friday (10/18/2019) evening dinner at Powers Inn & Pub in Clifton Park. I was planning on a salad and clear beverage, when their specials popped up on my Facebook feed, as we were pulling in. They looked so appealing, I mentally bid adieu to my salad for another week. The bar was filled, so we went to the hostess stand where the familiar faces of Kelly and (owner) Bryah met us, who suggested we grab a drink at the bar while we wait just a moment or 2 for a table to be cleared. We were promptly served our Spaaten Oktoberfest (for Bear) and dirty martini (me) by the very capable hands of longtime bartenders Mike and Jen. Literally only a moment or 2 passed, so Bryah ended up waiting patiently for us to secure our libations.Up the stairs we went to the 4th floor dining room, where Ive never been for dinner before. It is homey and historically decorated. This floor is one of the 2 most haunted areas of the former stage coach inn (note: this was the former Olde Dater Inn until about 7 or 8 years ago). Aline and her apprentice provided friendly, personable and appropriately attentive service. We ordered all three specials of the night (which Ive copied and pasted from their FB post, below):1. Fall Harvest Egg Rolls (app)Roasted chicken, butternut squash, caramelized onions and ricotta cheese with a maple adobo sauce2. Surf and Turf (Bear)8oz. sirloin topped with sautéed shrimp in a sun dried tomato scampi sauce. Served with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts.3. Chicken En-croute (me)Oven roasted chicken, red wine, poached apples, and Brie baked in a puff pastry. With a mulled wine glaze. Served with brussel sprouts and wild rice. The (4 small) eggrolls were flavorful and very light, and we hardly felt like we had anything at all, despite the hearty ingredients. The apple probably should have been a different variety, since we didnt notice the flavor or texture addition at all. The maple sauce was the perfect accompaniment. Bears sirloin came pre-sliced, and cooked exactly as he requested (med rare). The potatoes were scratch mashed and whipped, with perhaps just a tad more salt than I prefer, but potatoes are life, so I dont judge. We liked that the sprouts were mixed with blistered cherry tomatoes for color and sweetness. My en-croute was heaven, and reminded me of a tart cherry pie with melted cheese on top. The chicken was tender but should have been seasoned (more? Differently?) And again, the apple wasnt noticeable in flavor or texture. We mentioned this to Aline, who appreciated the feedback, and would make note of it to Chef. Really, a small nuance for a delightful, fall dinner. We heach brought half of our meals home for Saturday. After chatting about the kids, Alike recommended a triple layer cake of gingerbread, maple and molasses from local bakery Dolce and Biscotti. SOLD (maple is ALWAYS guaranteed to sell me)! There were 5 dessert options, 4 of which were from local bakeries, and hand picked by Bryah and his wife. The Creme Brulee is made in-house. This cake was reminiscent of sitting in my grandmothers old farmhouse, eating freshly baked gingersnaps by the woodstove. Each flavor was perfect, and well-balanced.Somewhere along the way, I ordered their spiced cider sangria (spiced rum, pino Grigio, local cider and apples), and our bill for 1 app , 2 dinner specials, 1 dessert, and 3 adult beverages was $82 before tip. We tipped Miss Aline at about 30%, and went downstairs to enjoy the live music by Erin Harkes, as well as a couple of Irish coffees. We LOVE Powers, and look forward to each visit. Its local, its homey, theres NEVER any trouble, and theyve nailed the Trifecta of great food, even better service, and long term employees who treat you like family.
Last night was the first time trying Powers Irish Pub, and it certainly wont be the last! We sat on the deck which was very pleasant, Ann and I started with the Guinness Battered Onion Rings the portion was huge, served blazing hot and crispy. I had the Guinness Beef Stew, tender beef, in a delicious brow gravy with carrots , celery , and potatoes, I highly recommend trying this. Ann tried the Bourbon Street Beef Tips which I sampled.... the sauce was awesome, the beef was fork tender, this was served with perfectly seasoned mashed potatoes and green beans. All in all a great dining experience, great food reasonable prices served promptly , whats not to like!!
Great servers and bartenders. Decent 20 handle beer selection but the owner is partial to IPAs. Excellent food includes fancy pub fare and unique dinners. Wings are out of this world and their maple burger is phenomenal! Say hi to Mike at the bar and be sure to tip your bartender well. This is Clifton parks next kept secret. No college shenanigans but the locals are jovial. No cop activity here bc there is no teenage trouble!
Powers could survive on its historic chops alone, but instead theyve stepped up their food game too and made themselves a hunger destination. The nightly specials (beer n burger night is my favorite) are a great compliment to a unique dining experience in this creaky yet warm old place. And the pub youll have to see for yourself. Cheers!
I always feel right at home here. Such a great building, and Bryah and his staff are very welcoming. Always a fresh selection of craft beer, rivaling anyone in CP; the food is also delicious at lunch or dinner time. Sit in the quaint bar area, or wander through the extensive ins and outs of the dining areas. Great place, great people, always great times. Slainté.
Went in to have a drink and lunch First drink for my husband and I gave the bartender a $20. Got $10.50 back, asked for menus to eat. My husband finished his drink and asked for another and menus again. She brought back his drink, menus, and took the $10.50 Well well order when she come back with the change, she never came back! We finished our drinks and left. We wont be back after having the bartender clip our money and didnt come back to ask us if we were ready to order. ITS WAS THE BARTENDER, WE WERE SITTING AT THE BAR !! I wanted to say something but my husband said to let it go had a nice lunch at My Way Cafe and the BARTENDER DIDNT STEAL OUR MONEY.
Place was awful they cooked my food with one little piece of chicken that was not breaded and over sauced my dish I ate 5 bites out of seeing as it was a 16 dollar dish but couldnt finish as the dosed my meal with hot sauce and it gave me heartburn we told our waitress and she said oh thats to bad and didnt take the meal off the check which again I didnt hardly touch and my boyfriends meal was dosed in soya sauce and they gave him 5 pieces of little beef tips dry mashed potatoes... Just awful he managed to eat the waffle fries and I managed to eat the rice... We paid 51 dollars for waffles fries that came from a bag and rice from a box.... Just stay at home and cook dinner or shred your money... Waitress was rude and non existent all together... If I could rate this place 0 stars I would! Horrible...
I would never order a pilsner. I had asked for a down under bomb, and was handed something totally different (if a sloop pilsner was on draft as the owner states, I would hope Id be asked or told otherwise, I was not.) A waste of 8 dollars because I was served the wrong beer, plain and simple.

2022-06-14Great place for a nice dinner during summer. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside on a beautiful day. They had a special burger and drink combo which is what I got. The burger was Mexican burger. There burger tasted good. The beer selection is good. The draft beer menu was has a good selection. I got the frog alley beer. It was a dark beer but was good. Not too hoppy. I recommend this place for the beer selection and outdoor seating. The service was good and quick.

2022-01-30A warm, inviting place to eat. Staff (Ashley) are super friendly! There are micro brew ales available, as well as some bigger name labels. The food is very good- fresh green beans and home made mashed potatoes accompanied a moist meatloaf accented with pleasantly smokey bacon and gravy. The Buffalo mac and cheese has orecchiette pasta covered in a very rich, creamy cheese sauce with strips of chicken, and topped with toasted bread crumbs and- you guessed it- hot sauce! It comes with bleu cheese crumbles, but I dont like bleu cheese (call me a pagan) so I ordered without. No room for dessert, so we must go back!

2022-06-18Nice selection of craft beers and tasty pub fare! Had to try the frickles which we enjoyed. The outside patio space was very pleasant and relaxing. Our server Bobby was super friendly and attentive. Going in the pub itself was like stepping back in time! So much history here.

2021-11-13Had a baby shower here and I have to say the place was beautiful, the food was amazing but the staff...well the staff made our entire experience..they went above and beyond their job, helped in every way they could(putting up decorations, coming up with ideas to help) were so pleasent, and truly seemed to enjoy what they were doing. Kudos to you! Thank you for all you do as I am sure we have not been the only guest to receive this kind of service.

2022-02-08I had family in from out of town and saw the great reviews online for Powers Pub and decided to try it. The place was very crowded and we were told the wait would be about 30 minutes. Look, I was happy to see people out again but the hostess truly underestimated our wait time. We waited over an hour and forty minutes. We really should have went home but we kept being told just another 20 minutes. We waited it out. When we finally got to sit we received our appetizers and dinner pretty quickly. One of my guests had the shepherds pie and he said it was really good. My sister ordered a hamburger medium well and it came back rare, almost raw. She didnt eat any of it. When you go to a pub a hamburger is one of those dinners that should be prepared as ordered. But thats not what makes me give one star. The worst part was my brother in laws corned beef sandwich dinner had several prices of hair in it. Not one hair, several. He did not say anything because we waited so long to eat that he didnt want to spoil anyone elses meal.It was truly a disappointing experience. I can only guess that it was just not our night but we wont try again.

2021-06-08We went out for a ride and was looking for a outdoor place to get something to eat and have a drink. Have heard about Powers pub from some friends who recommend it. We were greeted by the hostess outside, was about a 20 minute wait to be seated. We were able to go inside to the pub sere there was only one other couple in there. Seats were placed plenty far apart. Nice selection of beers on tap, along with bottle beers and plenty of Irish favorites. Ordered 2 draft beers, $14.00. Soon as we got the beers, the table was ready. They send a text message to you. We were seated out doors on a very nice big deck. Waitress came over after about 1 minute, greeted us very kindly. She was very knowledgable of the menu and advised us of the 2 specials that they had for the day. Menu has a nice selection to choose from.We order a Southwest Chicken Wrap with Fries and also a Maple Cheddar burger. From the time the order was taken until the food arrived to the table was less then 20 minutes. Food arrived hot and fries were crisp and not soggy. Chicken was not dry and the hamburger was cooked exactly the way it was ordered. Did not order any Desert. Portions are of plenty. The chicken pot pue is a favorite for many and will try it next time. Tax and tip was less the $70.00. Very friendly staff all around. Will go back and bring some friends.

2022-06-09Not the best start to our evening but our server made up for it. My wife waited 20 minutes for a drink only to find out someone didnt change the tank for the lemonade. I had my beer well before that while we waited for her. Food wasnt too bad. My sandwich was on the dryer side. As I said the server was great and made it worthwhile.

2022-06-23Great Irish food! Definitely try the French onion soup and sweet potato fries. Generous portions will always leave you with a lunch the next day. Very interesting/fun drink menu. Best Irish food in Clifton Park.

2022-04-15Great menu!... got the turkey corned beef sandwich... a little greasy.. coleslaw weak....needs Hermans. Was the meat warmed in microwave? ...dont. ill try again another time
