I have been eating at Precious for over 30 years and it has remained a steadfast and delicious option for Chinese food. The ambience when eating inside is classic and nostalgic. If you order take out everything is well packed and always includes extra sauces and utensils. I highly recommend Precious if you are craving Chinese food!
Make sure they do NOT over-charge you.Online prices are old & inaccurate. And even when I went to pick the food up after they told me the online prices were old-the price they charged me STILL did not match the in-house menu.**** I had to go back & show them this in order to get my money back. The male cashier/manager laughed but I dont view any type of fraudulent practices or price-gouging as humorous. NOT when I have to make 2 trips inside.****
Definitely one of the better Chinese cuisine around this area. Portions are large and flavourful. I have never had delivery but take out is reliable and efficient. The interior is very nice and is a good sit down restaurant( for when such dining resumes). Friendly staff/owners.
Precious has good food however I often find bugs in everything I eat. I ordered egg drop soup for take out and found a bug floating in the container. I also bit into one of their crispy noodles and inside an air bubble was a fly. The food is overpriced and the person at the front desk is not frendly at all. Orders take a long time to receive as well. Overall I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Went there today and ordered the lunch special. Their shrimp smelled real fishing tasted rubbery and wasn’t fully clean. The rice tasted like it was sitting in a rice cooker for hours! I remember this place being great growing up but now the food is a respresentation of the lazy staff that works there. My friend also try to substitute his pork fried rice that comes in the lunch special to chicken fried rice but our water said no to his request even after my friend was willing to pay extra! Very unpleasant atmosphere and the outside looks dated and have a broken window cover up by aprons and newspapers. Well do yourself a favor and skip this place , you only disappoint yourself and your stomach.
Precious has a very diverse menu, with some unusual offerings along with the standard chicken and broccoli and the like. Excellent soups, good sized portions, reasonably priced. I love their twice cooked pork- with dried bean curd and black mushrooms. They have good lunch specials and deliver too.
Foods to die for with endless choices and styles with drinks and apps to die for btw the place is formerly a pizza hut resturaunt built in the 70s then converted to a chinese resturaunt sometime in the near future probably in the 90s according to a Newsday article in the store. When you first walk in expect a vestibule then afterwards a tank full of giant adorable fishies that swims and looks at you when you visit some do it not all. There are no more booths or buffett as they were all demolished when the place was being remodeled. Be aware theres only ONE entrance exit as the takeout and 2nd enterance from pizza hut has been closed off for privacy reasons. The Waitress we had was nice and was like family. Very family oreinted place too even though theres the typical spoiled nasty kids in the area but never had a problem with this anyways. Food is awesome the rice was to die for all the chicken was great the eggrolls was too greasy but i loved nibbling them anyway. Also the BEST ice cream in the universe just be careful when ordering pistachio it has nuts and the vanilla has little icicles from the freezer in the kitchen. Kitchen was old and was kept the same when pizza hut was there the orginal fire alarm bell was still there too and the unknown mouldings the only change was the celings with repainting and new lighting furniture and possibly the carpets and the absolutely stunning white walls while keeping the pizza hut vibes even though the resturaunts showing its age. Chinese music is relaxing and soothing. the soups sucked but what u gonna do bout it! Place needs a full remodel but i love the pizza hut styled interior AVOID the breathmints unless you want a bad taste and a sour stomach. Restrooms were ok but needs a big facelift tiles on the floors and walls are falling apart and breaking. I really loved how they kept the pizza pete signs on the restroom door as i was shocked to see pizza hut has had a mascot in its heyday. Wished i saw it in its heyday but it dosent matter as long as foods good ill be going back. Place can get stuffy in the winter so keep the coats behind the seats and they have air conditioning in the summer. Real big eatery too with delivery takeout and more. They keep their christmas decorations up until chinese new yrs for some reason the owner told us bout it and other cool things. They also have a good luck cat and good ol siddie!!!!! The Owner and their employers are such sweethearts and lovable the guy was a gentlemen as well to my mom i couldnt have asked for such quality and professionalism in a global resturaunt! Basically all the pizza hut stuff dissappeared yrs ago if your wondering the only thing is pizza pete signs! The place dont offer soda anymore😢 guess it was too expensive! Bet it ran great as pizza hut and this. Hope this place stays for yrs to come and god bless this little eatery being here! As stated ill be coming back but till i die lol. In closing best eatery in the commack east northport area if you want an old school dine in service go to precious the best in town. A neighbor recommended it to us and loved this joint ever since. I LOVE PRECIOUS CHINESE!!!!!! AND SO SHOULD YOU! and most importantly tell friends and family to visit here the more people will not dissapoint them i recommend the chicken dishes its so good. A favorite for many yrs since the joints so good ya gotta go to precious! Trust me youll love this place for generations!
Very decent chinese restaurant. Great for take out or eat-in. Very family-friendly and great for meeting up with a large or small group. Some of the options are spicy so double check what you ordered is spicy or not. Great seafood options and regular chinese food classics.
First time I went here it was really quite good. Beef and broccoli and fried rice were delicious. The second time everyone at our table wasnt happy with their meals. General Tsos tasted like it was fried in old oil. The dumplings were not good. Went there hungry, left with a bit of a stomach ache. Maybe it was an off night..?
Food is average American Chinese, all the usuall dishes you find in take out places, prepared about the same. But one of the few Chinese restaurants that offer table service in the area, nice change to have the food served to you hot and on real plates. Go when family wants to get out of the house, sit and be served an affordable meal.
This place was so Bad...From beginning to end. The table fried noodles that you dip into ducksauce was dripping with oil. The eggdrop soup was salty. My wonton soup had a random piece of chicken floating in it. The waiter was this older man who was incredible Rude and moody. We ordered 2 appetizers, pork dumplings and spareribs. The dumplings were crispy on one side and cold and uncooked on the other side. The ribs were greasy and had no flavor. My sesame chicken was disgusting. Covered in this goop of gross orange glaze. It was so bad i wouldnt feed it to my dog. My husbands entre was spicy vegetables and chicken and that was also not good. Every possible thing we ate was disappointing. From the food to the impersonable waiter with the attitude. We are never going back. Both my husband and i had stomach aches when we went home too !! I dont know how people gave it good reviews !!!! Im assuming the ones who gave this place good reviews arent used to good food because this place was horrible. Save yourself the trip and order chinese delivery instead.
Easy to see right off of Larkfield Road servicing East Northport and the adjoining areas of Suffolk County. Looks like an old Pizza Hut. Clean facilities with a wheelchair accessible entrance. Plenty of parking. Reasonably priced. Credit cards accepted. We will most likely be going back.
Make sure you ask for a soy sauce and any kind of sauce you want because they’ll give you nothing even if you spend a $60-$100 order this service is bad even when I complained about the soy sauce they gave me attitude and he laughed at me if I was anybody I would not go to this place

2021-12-29Food was great. Reasonably priced. Good portions typical for this type of food. Order was made over the counter when I got there. I waited and took it home. It took about 10 minutes. Restaurant appeared clean. The order was perfect and they even threw in a freebie to try. Who doesnt love extra food?

2022-04-25I was asked do you want a large or small. Told them large. They forgot and asked again. Large or small. I said large. Somehow I ended up with a small and was offered no compensation for the wait for re-delivery. I was supposed to feed 2 people with this who didnt feel like waiting another half hour.Go somewhere else.

2022-05-23Consistently good sit down and take out Chinese restaurant. Not many places you can actually sit down and get served anymore. The people are nice service is good and the food is good and reasonable. Can expect more

2022-06-08The food is not good. Third time trying it, General Tso chicken was awful and not cooked right-broccoli was crunchy and to boot, we got delivery and it never came. Had to pick it up ourselves after an hour of waiting. Never will be back!

2022-01-31Great dining experience. Ive gone here for many years and always order the Happy Family. Ive never had a problem here. Food is delicious and I recommend taking out or dining in, theres enough seating inside. There is plenty of parking in the back and a couple of spaces along the side of the building, plus handicapped parking spots. Bathrooms are very clean.

2021-04-27This was my go to Chinese place for 2 years. Not really sure what happened. I loved the General Tso chicken and the last two orders were disgusting. Hard and rubbery at the same time. Gave them one more shot and got the Generals Shrimp. That was a mistake. The shrimp had almost no taste, and were very tough. They were not fully cleaned either. Probably a reheat from a earlier order that was never served. I’m officially done with this place. It’s a shame, they were so good.Tried them again last week, around 4/18. Shrimp was old and bland, chicken wasn’t much better. Only thing good about this place are the crispy noodles and fried rice.
