Avoid this place. This is going to be a long post, so please bear with me. My insurance companys roadside assistance contracted Prestige to tow my Cadillac home after it melted an ignition coil. After waiting over two hours and having to call my insurance company repeatedly to find out where they were I was finally contacted by Prestige. They told me that they were just leaving their shop after already giving my roadside assistance a two hour window. They didnt even leave during that timeframe. The person that called me asked if I was going to ride in the tow truck. I responded Yes. He then told me that the tow truck was not going straight to my house and that the driver would be making other stops. After that call I immediately called my roadside assistance and spoke to a manager who was shocked to learn what the Prestige representative said on the phone. He told me that the tow was for just my car and that they shouldnt be stopping for anything else. My manager took pity on me and drove me home from work three and a half hours after my shift ended. Just before I left the tow truck arrived and the driver took my keys and started my car! I told him it has a melted ignition coil and he said he was only driving it a short distance. Unacceptable. Thats why I called a tow truck, so I didnt have to drive it. Im sure the owner will respond to this post saying Ive never been a customer, blah blah blah. I have the call logs and they took a picture of my registration. Avoid this place. They clearly dont care about their customers.
Beware!! Stay away!!! They will mislead you and overcharge you for unnecessary work. Find an honest shop elsewhere!!Larry in response to your response. Id like to remind you why you bought the truck. It was because I offered you to either lower you ridiculously marked up price (double what we had agreed on), buy the truck, or go to court. It was not out of the goodness of your heart. I wish I had taken you to court!!Since then while speaking to my friends and neighbors about what you did to me, (and trust me I talk to anyone who will listen) I have already come across two other people who you scammed. One of whom in the same exact manner as you did to me.I hope my post here can help others to avoid businesses like yours.
Larry has serviced my cars for years and I appreciate the service to ensure the car is always running. He always provides early indications of things to watch at the next service to help budget.My wife had a flat tire on the other side of the river one night. She called a tow and when the guy came to change the tire he asked who services your car. He liked the the lug nuts were greased so the tire came off east and the spare had air in the tire.Larry focuses on customer service and I need to ensure my cars are running since I have a long communte. Thus I trust larrys service Nd appreciate all his technicians.
I stopped in to get fuel with my daughter, we were on my custom chopper. I saw a pretty sweet Harley Street Glide cvo that the owner was selling. After realizing it was a special edition and way out of my league, Larry and his son continued to talk with us. Didnt rush us off his property, was very friendly and even laughed a little when I was busting his sons chops. I have had a back surgery and learned that so did he. And hes crazy enough to jump from planes!
If I can rate this place a zero, I definitely would.....One day I came in for a simple oil change for my 2001 Toyota Corolla. First off the wait is awfully way too long... and second, what really drove me crazy is these staff members were saying The N word right in front of me as if I wasn’t there listening. Being very prejudice and Racist towards me as a fellow African American man. I felt very uncomfortable and angry...
I work for a service company up near Albany, but our technicians are spread throughout the state. One of our guys locked themselves out of their van and we didnt have spare keys. Prestige got there immediately and had the van open within a matter of minutes. I really appreciate the hustle!
Just wanted to say Thanks to Larry.Explorer radiator turned in to a fountain last Friday evening. My biggest concern was getting my explorer back before Monday. Since it was weekend i knew it will be very difficult, getting parts and other things takes time. However I had my keys in my hand on Sunday morning. So i am very thankful for the time and effort Larry put in, to get me my explorer back by Sunday morning.
Run hard run fast and dont look back. Prestige automotive is a crooked shop that engages in unethical business practices and will rip you off. They tell you your vehicle needs work that it actually doesnt need. The owner larry is a rotten lowlife, he will steal your hard earned money. I want to see Prestige automotive go out of business. On a side note I wouldnt buy gas at the attached sunoco if my car stalled out right in front of it. Larry probably spikes the gas at his station so cars run poorly and break down.Anyone who brings their vehicle here is delusional, there are far superior repair shops to this one. Avoid like the plague.
Got into an accident. Without asking they hooked me up (I wanted to use triple A) and said theyd tow me to their shop and insurance would pay for everything. I didnt have collision on my truck so yeah, that didnt pan out. Asked if they could just tow me home (5 miles) and how much. I was quoted 375. They came down to 250 (cash), but still overcharged and not happy about it. Could have gotten a free tow from triple A. Scanning the police radio to take advantage of drivers who have just gotten into an accident is not cool.
Prestige automotive is a bunch of liars and unethical crooks. If you enjoy being robbed of your hard earned money go here if not avoid this place like the plague. They will lie to you about what your vehicle needs in order to get you to fork over your money and make them rich. The owner Larry is theantichrist. Dont buy gas from the sunoco gas station either. Spread the word to stay away from prestige automotive and the Vassar Rd sunoco.
Just basing this on an experience I had while driving down Rt 9 North on 6/28/15,It was raining and I was stuck behind some slow traffic when this tow truck came flying up on my rear end he was bobbing and weaving like it was my fault we were going slow he rode my bumper and almost rear ended me I will never do business with this company and will tell my friends and colleagues not to call this company,If this is the way you drive YOUR the guys who cause accidents maybe your just trying to drum up some business... 10450-are the first numbers of the licence plate of this truck just so you know its one of yours .Shame on you and that driver he made your company look like crap!!
Would rate this place with zero stars if I could, Im stuck fixing all of these peoples mess ups from wrong bolts in places to welded on bolts that shouldnt be welded, and stripped bolts, I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy, all of the prestige shops should be shut down because they obviously dont know what they are doing when it comes to mechanics

2022-07-10Brought my truck in for a leaking brake line on Thursday, Larry said he would call me on Friday to tell me the cost of repairs. Called him three times on Friday, he only gave me excuses on why I couldnt get my truck back until Saturday. The call finally came at noon on Saturday. I asked what would be the cost, he replied $385. I said How Much? He called back quickly to say he made a mistake $ 285. Claimed it took two hours to replace the brake line! Dont believe Larry. Find any other garage to get your vehicle repaired. Also claimed my Truck needed to be inspected, the inspection sticker was up to date!

2022-07-10Just want to say thank you to Larry and his staff. You guys rock! Being new to area I didnt know of a good repair shop in the area and after calling 2 other places one who never called me back and the other said they could not do anything for 2 weeks I called Prestige. I spoke with Larry and explained my situation and within 1 hour he was at my house with the rollback. They fixed everything I needed did an oil change and state inspection and in 3 days ihad my car back. I could not be happier with the service and quality of work i received and will definitely be using you guys as my go to repairshop. Thank you Larry for making this such a wonderful experience.

2021-02-02Would really like to know where the RARE BLACK LAMBORGHINI LM-002 went. Larry offered me the car and when I returned was told the car No longer exists Then proceeded to curse me and my friends off and then after walking away he got in his car and left... WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON???

2021-12-15I had heard many bad things about this place. But after three visits I have nothing but praise For this garage. High quality does not come cheap but honest and high-quality work is more than worth it. I am extremely satisfied.

2019-09-28Before coming here, I read the reviews and I was abit scared. But when I first arrived there, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I left my car for them to diagnose and fix. It was done faster than I expected and the bill was around what I expected. Larry and his team are honest people. Glad I gave them a chance instead of believing those 1 star reviews. Definitely coming here from on now whenever I have a issue I can’t fix myself.

2015-08-16Its important that I take the time to sincerely thanks Larry Sheehan for the service he provided to me this past Thursday. My car needed a jump to get out of the parking lot after work on Thursday (just after 5PM). I knew I needed a new battery right away. I had never been to Prestige Automotive on Vassar Rd but I had passed it every day to and from work since moving over to our new location back in April. I said what the heck and pulled in to Prestige and saw Larry outside. Knowing it was 5:15 I asked Larry if he was still open and told him I needed a new battery. He told me to pull around while he looked for a battery. As it turned out he had a great battery at a great price and he installed it and had me back on the road by six. I really have to give kudos to an owner who stays at the shop after hours to help someone on the spot. Having worked in retail for many years when I was younger I know this is the way I took care of things and its great to see someone who thinks the same way!

2019-02-27My sons Xterra overheated near the shop. 1st time there , they took care of his cracked radiator , told me about rusted frame and no supports brackets for Radiatior ,I told them,I would handle that to avoid the extra cost. . they took care of it anyway fabricating a support .No charge ., car is back and running. No issues .Good customer service .Joe the manager, polite , introduced me to the mechanic worked on it , he spoke to me alsoI would recommend them

2018-01-27First meeting with Larry he inspected my vehicle after it had been failed by Mavis on RT. 9. Larry explain the law how Mavis had no right to fail my inspection, he charged $20 plus tax and sent me on my way. Needless to say returned for set of 4 tires. Price little steeper than expected but tires of superior quality compared with ones from you guessed it Mavis with same priced but crappier tires. See you soon Larry. Need yearly inspect.

2018-06-11I spent over 700$ to get my car inspection ready. Little did I know they were giving me well overcharged work for next to nothing. They changed my fluids and gave me new brakes new windshield wipers (which after a month of having them they already fell apart but idk if you can blame them for that) and best of all I payed for the inspection and it wasn’t inspection ready?! So your telling me I spend over 700$ to get this done and all I have to show for it are brakes?! And also I payed for the inspection from them and after it didn’t pass they told me I can get it done somewhere else. Also got a lovely check point ticket from the police I gotta take care of^.^ so my words to this company is care about your customers more good money is spent on good service
