Wish I had known about this place sooner. Finally walked around and found this place. What a slice of heaven in new york where super markets are typically uneven and scattered.The meat selection is awesome and fresh. They have a bakery, its always well stocked, clean, bright. Lots of produce and dairy choices. We found the quality to be generally really high. Ground beef selection could be better. Organic meats are more expensive than other places.Some items could be cheaper though.
Little on the expensive side.2 twenty oz cokes and a bag of chips and a roll was $7.I could have bought a hot meal for the same price...With the Coke!
This is the best food store in Queens. The prices are great. Meat & produce top quality. I love this store. I might recommend it, they have just about anything you need from a supermarket! Extremely polite work force also!
Some items are really expensive and incorrectly labelled. You have to double check to make sure they punch in the things on sale. They are bad at updating their labels and some things will be permanently on sale.I have seen some of their staff intentionally keeping products on shelf that is out of date. These includes produce and dairy. Its not uncommon to see things like milk and yoghurt past its expiration date, with the workers intentionally putting them in the front.Pointing out the incorrect pricing to some of the staff has been met with dismissal. If you have a item on sale and havent fixed the price listing on the shelf, you should honour the discount price even if it has expired.In this area of Fresh Pond you also got Valentinos and Ridgewood Farm - Two stories with fantastic quality produce. Both of them have better quality greens, fruits and veggies. But neither of them sell meat, and their coolers are so bad they make me not want to buy dairy products or other cooled things.5 min walkaway on fresh pond road you got Food Universe which has some decent meats (chicken, beef and pork) but less variety, and generally speaking I think Price Choice is better.Overall I like Price Choice but I think the quality control could be better. I also see staff that does nothing but take the empty carts. And these guys are usually angry looking and sideeye you in an uncomfortable way. The ladies who work the cash registers are mostly nice and polite, but some of them come off as unprofessional when they shout to the others employees about random stuff while processing your items.I find that annoying when I have to be so careful about items on sale not being registered correctly because of incorrect labeling on the shelves.

I agree with all the bad reviews, smells like theres a sewer problem, and the meat is always old and it stinks, even the eggs i bought were old and rotten and they supposedly had a good expiration date, money wasted again. im surprised that ppl are still buying from this place, stay away.

Its a nice small supermarket , I come here to get hero rolls for my boyfriends lunch , he loves the rolls from here always fresh and soft and have a nice variety , also get coldcuts which are always fresh and they have boars Head which he likes , like I said its a small supermarket so they dont carry everything I want, but its clean , the workers here are nice and theres never a line so your in and out pretty quick , its the closest supermarket to me , Im here a couple of times a week , its not good for big shopping maybe for some but not for me, but its good just to go in and pick up a few things that you need
Clean nice place for groceries. However, check the prices when cashiers are ringing up items - the sale prices dont always register at check out & you have bring it to their attention to get the sale prices advertised! It happens Very often.

A great neighborhood supermarket with a good selection of meat, reasonably priced. Often open on holidays (during the day) including Thanksgiving and Christmas, which has helped when I forget an ingredient and need it last minute. Warm and friendly staff.

I went there to do some grocery for the first time. The smell in the store was horrible as if there was an old sewing issue. When I got home I saw that the meat was bad, jelly like and it smelled bad. Will never shop here again
I see mixed reactions in the reviews. Great. My only complaint is regarding the tellers, not all of them though... The young European girls used to be nicer, that was when they just started working there, but you know, rudeness seems to be contagious. That takes me to the Dominican ones! Someone has to remind those women that they are somehow being paid a salary that comes out of the customers pockets, if the wage is not what theyd like it to be, they can go somewhere else or ask for a raise to see what happens, if that is the problem... The food is... ok.
I shouldnt have to check the labels for sale by date. Have bought food that I later at home saw were past the expiration date. Thats not only bad practice but also illegal. Wont shop there ever again.
They don’t close at 9 like the page says ! Who knows what time they close but not 9 walked by at 8:50 there doors are already shut ( closing 10 mins before what they say) Staff is ehh okay they need much more variety .. Always look at what you buy and the price & make sure they’re charging it for that price they tend NOt to do this & when you confront them they ask this guy ( i’ll assume he’s the “manager”) & he comes up w some lame excuse .. If i had another supermarket near by i would never set foot in this one ...p.S a lot of fruits and veggies are cheaper & fresher by valentinos or the other small stores around
Over priced and non responsive staff. Its fine they dont say hello, but they dont say the total of your purchase. I have to look at their screen just to figure it out. No thank you, either. The selection is okay. The produce section isnt that great.
Actually the supermarket has now been renamed C-town . Food selection is good and service is generally friendly and expedient .

Cashiers don’t wear masks or gloves. They don’t care about COVID. If you get sick after visiting this establishment blame management. No masks when handling your food!
Price are great their food is fresh. Everything is easy to find and the people are nice and helpful. I love shopping there because their sales are very good.
This is the only supermarket in this section of Ridgewood. While small, it is stocked with a good selection. The produce dept is excellent. The store is very clean and well maintained. Checkout clerks are generally rude.
The guys did not doing their job. All I saw the guys talking. When costumer ask for help. He or her talking on cellphone all day not help them. Lousy jobs at food shop on break co-worker and chat on phone not doing their work they think free job. Still pay the check thats not right!!! FIRED them!!!!
This is only one food market bigger than regular deli on freshpond. They always have good deals and also you can buy polish products.
Everything was fine, not crowded, but staff just couldnt show how to get my Apple Pay working. Smh

Went with WIC cashier told me I had too much sufficient from WIC and ask me how many kids are on the program cause I had a lot of stuff that was none of her business and had no right to ask me how many kids

2022-07-15I used to like this supermarket but yesterday I had an incident that my groceries bag was being watched for less than a minute by the nice young lady at the cashier but in less than a minute a Dominican lady and daughter or niece stole my bad in front of their noses while the manager was talking to two other guys . They were by the exit . It was seen in the camera ! It happened inside and they said they are not responsible and it happened inside . I am so disappointed with the way I was treated . I was told once that I couldn’t bring the bag inside after shopping already and that is why i trusted the young lady. They didn’t want to refund me the money back or to get the same groceries back .

2021-07-08I would give 5 stars if they pay more attention what they have on shelves. Not a lot of sugar free drinks, mostly chocolate ice cream of many different brands but not variety of flavors. Besides that, stuff is very nice, no lines to the cashier, clean. And now it changed name to CTown.

2020-11-12Any frozen item you buy here will be freezer burned. Not surprising as every time Im there they have the whole middle of the cold isle filled with frozen items waiting to be put away and one person working on that. Some of that stuff must be sitting out at least an hour. Ive also seen someone dragging a container of the plastic holders fresh meat is placed in on the floor. The package had a hole in it, so some of the bottom ones were literally dragging on the floor. A roommate once bought meat there that had gone bad by the very next day. Finding fresh produce there is very unlikely. Broccoli is often wilting and brown. I was pointed to the fresh asparagus by a nice employee who was stocking the vegetable section. The fresh stuff was already going bad. This is the closest grocery store to the apartment Ive lived in for 5 years, so this is not just based on a few visits.

2021-02-04Just learned that this no longer owned by Key Foods, but CTown. Meat prices have become expensive, only small container sizes available at increased prices. And selection doesn’t reflect the neighborhood especially at these prices. Pandemic may have contributed to increases but not to the availability. Ordering online with other services becomes the better option. Staff is the same friendly and store is clean but prices are more inline with a convenient store.

2019-09-12Price choice is a nice little supermarket on Fresh Pond Road. They have nice sales here and a discount card if you sign up. They offer delivery service of your groceries if you order $25.00 or more on the order. They accept orders by phone too. They have bottle machines so you can return your bottles and cans. I just wish the owner would get a second plastic machine there because the machine fills up fast and it takes time for the guy to come and clear it because he has other work to do also. Otherwise, this is an excellent supermarket. Recommend.

2018-12-15This supermarket has a great food selection. They had what I came there for, what some supermarkets dont carry, (Smart Balance Butter). They also had other items that I needed. It was clean. The aisles were free from boxes and carts. The staff was friendly and I enjoyed the Christmas music that was playing ☺.

2018-03-09I happened to pop into this supermarket four days ago and actually picked up a few items. Everything looked well organized, and I thought perhaps I should do my bulk shopping there going forward until yesterday when I changed my mind. The (gluten-free cookies) I bought earlier (March 5) did not taste right; in fact, I felt sick after eating one so I didnt go any further with it. I decided to return it as I was running a few errands. I got to the cashier and explained to her what happened, and I told her to check the expiry date because I know something aint right with the cookies. She was shocked! It expired since January. She called the Manager and told him about it and mentioned that it made me sick; these are his words and action I hope they didnt eat it, and walked away. He made no contact with me, no apologies and he obviously was not listening well to the cashier. Anyway, after the cashier returned my money, I went to him and told him that his attitude stinks and it is no way to treat customers. I told him he has a title that does not suit him, and just kept shoving some cake in his mouth and shake his head and told me that I was the one with the attitude. So I plan on making a complaint at the Consumers Affairs, and also let people know to always check expiry dates on your foods, especially at Price Choice Food Market.Rude and disrespectful Management. Some folks are better off living and working in communist environment rather than an environment that is for the people.
