Dont come here expecting Wegmans. What you get instead is a market with all the basics, a little of this, and none of that. The latin food selection is great, and like a lot of other things in the store its affordable.I really enjoy the finches and music too. This store definitely has a unique vibe.
Beats a food desert. This store has a good staff of people and good managers who make an effort to assist customers. They have a good selection of vegetables and fruits. This is one of the few places in the city where you can buy aloe by the leaf. Lots of family shop here for food. it is very difficult to serve minority communities because they expect to find what they need, but hardly ever make any requests for specific foods. And, a closed-mouth cannot be fed. I do hope the store is able to eliminate the rodent problem they have. Could you call me in early when the store first opens you might be surprised by mines scurrying across the floors.
Price rite, a cross between the bigger chain markets, a wise choice for extended neighbor hoods, and busy ish, thru town roads, right size, conforms to demographic conditions, dont have to compete with large scale stores, just the opposite, gets good steady customer flow, and if your listening, Shop Right, West valley, West Genesee st, old Tops setting, primo for middle size demographic store, closing about 10 to 11 pm, should draw in good mobile customer base.
Not as good as it could, when it first open it offered great deals at great prices, product line good as well one stop shopping just what we need in this area. Now I would rather get in car and drive the extra 3 to 5mi to get the one stop shopping experience. Ok I guess they got a new look or should I say lay out. Nice setup open area concept works well for shopping purposes. Still needs to improve meat department.
Although they have the best prices, and wide selection of items that cannot really be found elsewhere, during the pandemic each time Ive gone to this store there are both employees and patrons with NO MASK! Although I like their products and prices I go to a different store where I know people will wear masks during the pandemic.
Im cant be more excited about finally have a grocery store in my community. Its so convenient and the prices helps a lot, when you are on a budget. We are happy to have it here , so many people were unable to have asset because of not having transportation. This has really been a godsend to our neighborhood. Thanks so much.
Called ahead two times for a product..said they had it...get here and not a single one in stock (and one employee says they never got it in). Then experience at self checkout was ridiculous. Cashier had to fix a price, needed a supervisor code-after waiting minutes for one to look our way because the male cashier couldnt say HELLO i need help..then she fixes price walks away I go to pay and need a supervisor again to override ! They should know their registers. Why walk away if you know you are going to be needed 20 seconds later??
Price Rite Aid on South Ave is a very nice store its clean and theres no Riff Raff going on in the store. My only negative point is I was looking for oxtails and they said its a high-theft item and they no longer sell it so now I have to drive to the Erie Boulevard Price Rite and get what I need which is oxtails.
Amazing prices, relatively clean store for a budget market. And it is certainly a budget market, dont expect filet, brie and truffles...but they will have an amazing deal on chuck, cheddar and portabella. You wont walk out empty handed (thats because they charge for bags)
This place has good prices but the reason for 2 stars is the rudeness and disrespect of the staff that closed tonight (6/11/19). I stopped to just get bread and buns and this older lady was trying to find sugar in a container rather than the paper packaged sugar. She went up to both the ladies and one just straight up looked at her and ignored her and then the other lady just kept saying I need to be clocked out by 6 after. So I had my husband cash out as I walked back to help this woman look for her sugar. Then one of the cashiers yelled back at us that we need to cash out now. She claims they told the woman that they dont have any more; but, I had watched and listened to both cashiers and neither one of them had answered this poor woman. If you had told this woman that you dont have any, then she wouldnt have went back trying to find it. I honestly do not think I will ever be back at this location. Id rather go to Erie Blvd. Down right disrespectful and rude tonight. The woman even said the cashiers never responded to her when she went up to them asking.
I dont shop at Price Rite very often, but when I do it goes somewhat smoothly. This is a popular location, so some items may not be available. They usually restock pretty quickly and the workers will check in back if you ask. The prices for vegetables, some fruits and frozen goods vary grom .10 to .30 less than the surrounding stores. They do accept manufacturers coupons, but it is a work in progress. The policy has changed twice within the year and the most recent update has made it more difficult to shop there. You are limited to four like coupons a day. If youre not a couponer, its no biggie, but if you are you know where Im coming from!
Lol I work here! But we getting the store up to par. Anyway I know its either aldis or price rite but we got a large select so large that almost every day they have to take a whole product off the store floor put it in the back just to use the space for a different product. Hey our entrance is even packed with products. And your not finding a bigger produce select in syracuse we talking about ginger roots batatana things you just didnt see not even when we had no jams around!
Went there for the first time & encountered 2 of the NICEST store staff Ive EVER encountered (especially on the Southside of Syracuse) I neglected to get their names but best believe WHEN I do, THEY WILL BE HONORED FOR THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE ( YES! just doing their job but at least not being the usual Southside diss- tasteful... SMH)... Im spending MY money so...AS THE TERMINATOR WOULD SAY: ILL BE BACK!!

2022-01-17Price Rite is growing! They serve community well! The fresh veggies definitely meets the needs of our African American, Latino and Caribbean cultures... and we love it! The store should have more cashiers open as an options for the elders!

2017-07-20This place would have gotten a 5 star from me but when I was there last I went to use the bottle return and the bottle plastic bottle bin was full. So I went inside to get some assistance and everyone points me to the manager Dennis I believe that was his name. He was at the front end of the store I told him the bottle return was full and he said he would be right with me. I waited outside for assistance for about 15mins before he came to help me. He bring a worker with him and it was more so like a training course then it was them trying to help me. witch I ended up waiting for them to take all the crushed bottle out (15 more mins) because the bin wasnt changed appropriately the last time by being lined with a plastic bag so they dumped all the bottles into two shopping cart. Only to find out in mid wait that the machine only take bottles thats been brought from Price Rite. Was not to happy with waiting all that long time and it was a very hot day. But other then this one incident my experiences at PriceRite has been good.

2019-04-10They dont have everything a supermarket would have but they do have a great selection with great prices and actually a lot of healthy choices not a lot of junk food.... You buy bags and bag your own groceries.... I spent $179 I probably would have spent 230 anywhere else.... And the staff is friendly and not loud and obnoxious... And Im Colombian so they had a lot of Spanish food ❤️😍... I also been looking for this big pot everywhere

2022-04-262022 Update: I returned to this store in order to compare the prices with another discount grocer. Price Rite wins the prize. Prices aside, I was unable to find the non-dairy milk, or tofu in this store--very few Asian foods here. Overall, the prices are great, and the customer service is significantly better than it was 4 years ago. As a strict vegetarian, some of the items I used to buying are not carried by Price Rite (they raise the price of all foods), but I can eat many of the foods offered by Price Rite. Ill shop here again.
