The parking lot is on the smaller side but never appears to be overly full. I always manage to find an open parking space. The store itself is large with huge savings on not only their items but brand name items also. The store itself appears to be clean despite being a very busy store. There is knowledgeable staff available to assist you and there is also a security guard presence. I love the area.
A decent store to purchase all the groceries you need. There is a LOT of variety in the produce section, and I come here often because of that reason. The prices here are great, but you do have to bag up your own items. There is parking in the front AND the back of the store, and if you walk to the store or catch the bus, there is usually a jitney (pretty cheap ride to take you and your groceries home) in the parking lot... or a few. The hours are decent and the items are quality
Prices are great. But sometimes the quality of the produce is subpar. You need to really pay attention to it because sometimes it bad before you even buy it. They change their orders and sometimes dont carry items for a whole month before you seem them again. Clean and friendly
The store seemed a bit aged and dingy but overall the Prices were Rite. Excellent quality on the produce and it stayed fresh for a long time, unlike other cut-rate grocers whose produce seems to go bad as soon as it gets home. Excellent prices for meats. Comparable prices for all else.
I have frequented this store since it opened, and its just gone more and more downhill. I want to like it... Good selection, great prices. However, the customer service (what little there is) is atrocious. Lines are always super long, they never have enough cashiers working. Most employees who cash you out barely say hello, let alone your total or say hey thanks, have a good day. The store is not the cleanest either.
It was hard to rate this a four, after what I experienced at your store at the beginning of January. That trip was the first time I had shopped at this Price Rite in over 10 years! But boy I didnt even recognize this place! It was dirty, produce was rotten no plastic bags to put the produce in that did look half decent! The employees were trying their best to keep up with the demanding customers, and do their jobs effectively at the same time. There were hardly any lines open, the self checkout was congested and some of the machines didnt even work etc. But just 2-3 days ago I tried you guys again, and when I walked in my eyes almost popped out of my head! The produce section was full of fresh and beautiful vegetables and fruits. Everything was clean and the workers were not as stressed. I have to admit that that particular store has amazing, hardworking and caring employees; very respectful! So now I know not to shop at the beginning of the month there. But even with the beginning of month, there should be no shortage of workers, food and produce especially, not being on the floor, no bags to place your produce in. I have to admit that some of your prices on certain items are higher than the big grocery chains in my area. So, yes, my last experience garnered 4 stars, much better experience this time around.
Great small market that is kept clean, but due to recent events with the virus their placement and proper stacking efforts have diminished. They have plastic shielding for checkout, and the staff are patient. Ive been going here for months, and I still find interest to walk here to get my food, just because I feel great knowing ill find everything I need quickly, and check out safely every single time.
The look of this store has been greatly improved with an abundance of coolers to ensure freshness. The layout is much better too, allowing for a larger variety of produce. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It seems to have a family atmosphere here. Come on in and check it out for yourselves.
This is not a friendly place this place could be a little more, a lot more clean. I am not individually judging the workers but the workers could be a lot more friendly smile a little bit everybody walk around looking mean. The food shelves could be a lot more organized and the lights could be a lot more brighter it look like a dungeon when you go in there. Whenever you go to a place where if you have to buy food you should feel like the food is clean not that you got to watch the food over and over and over so I dont purchase anything. She said I just pray for those who purchase food from there. And I dont see no covid laws being practiced management step up your game for the hard-working individuals that have no choice but to shop Your way price rite make that place right for everybody. Have a beautiful day and a Happy New years think about it 2021. ☺️💪💯
Decent prices for decent-quality food. Fairly wide selection of food and home goods. Even carry some organic products at good prices. And now they sell beer! Overall nothing fancy or exceptional about this place. That being said its my go-to spot for regular grocery shopping.
Its an o.k. store. Staff not very friendly and or helpful. Seems like they avoid you. On cell phones and or conversing amongst themselves in an sarcastic, joking manner. Ive seen this numerous times, different occasions. But if you are just there for food & prices its worth it.
Always good prices. Staff does not keep sale items filled. Have found stock sitting on floor still in boxes that should be put on shelves or out back in stock room. Cashiers need training for people skills. Most cashiers are friendly. Store is clean since update ibternally. Staff needs to understand that if there is a spill its just as much their responsibility to see that it gets cleaned up. Overall a very good place to shop. I have found their organic selection to constantly be improving. I have also come across unique items. I like that.
My experience at PriceRite on Elmwood was disgusting because I was accused of shoplifting when I asked to work you to show proof of what he was talking about he ran into the room and never came out show me no videos or anyting of the shoplifting which I didnt do it was very disrespectful and embarrassing I was later given a gift card by one of the other workers but was told that this particular worker that accused me of shoplifting has a true several people before the same incident well thats just was like racial profiling
This is the main Price Rite that I come to because of convenience. They just changed the lay-out so they went up a few points in my book. Can be fairly depending on when you go so I would say to make sure its early or after midday like 7 p.m. or so. They always have quality items and the staff are usually friendly as well. Highly recommend this location to any new comers!!
This is a good place for staples at a great price. The produce is varied and fresh at a good price. This store shows the positive influence of the immigrant population in this part of the city because many cook from scratch using ingredients that many stores dont stock.
Aside from the sometimes chaotic atmosphere at checkout, I havent really had any negative experiences. Options are tighter than at a Tops or Wegmans, but I can also do the same grocery list for about half the price. Ive found the produce is better than at other stores as well. Same thing with meats, havent had a problem and prices have been good.
Prices, good selection of fresh produce...go before noon, refrain from going Mon/Tues as usually out of many items especially sale items, wed is delivery day..best go after then...decent selections but not huge- likely have 2 brands of paper towels, not 8/ maybe 4/5 brands of yogurt, not 10 etc..
They do have a really nice produce selection. But there meats look frozen already, so I try not to buy meats from them. But there other items are okay. The managers will not open a line if they see longs with just two cashiers. They stand around laughing and speaking spanish. They may help there friends but that will be about it.
Good. Kind staff. Helpful. I found everything I went to get. Only complaint they dont have the cart with the seat and wheels for the handicap so even thou this is the one closest to me I sometimes have to choose to go to the competitors which have available the needs of the handicap.
The prices are good.. in fact, prices are better than the Family -Dollar store up the road on Elmwood; Ive compared prices, so take my word for it. Never had a bad experience here -can get a little congested at the checkout near closing time, but the girls are helpful and they keep a smile on their faces...
UPDATE, SEPTEMBER 2020: They just cant seem to get it right...Some departments, that is. I mean, how can you be out of sucralose (Splenda) packets for 7 WEEKS???Produce is generally a hit-or-miss affair, but meats and dairy seem to gotten their act together. Frozen and bakery sections should be approached with some trepidation, but also a willingness to be pleasantly surprised.Ya just never know what youre in for with this store.I think the redesigned layout of the store is horrible, but the selection and prices are quite good. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The store would benefit from stocking overnight, instead of during the day, which produces cluttered aisles and empty spots on shelves during shopping hours.
This price rite is one of my favorite grocery stores in Buffalo. They actually have a great selection of fresh produce, which was kind of unexpected when I went in my first time. The prices overall are really cheap. This is a great place to shop cheap, without sacrificing too much quality.
Dont bother going in the beginning of the month because you wont be able to find anything. Shelves become bare fast once ppl get their checks on the first - third of the month. Otherwise, you can find items at great prices. Make sure you check the dates on certain items. Ive never had any problems, but Ive been told ppl got things that were already out of date. Their meats are cheap. Their produce are not always consistent. Some days they will have really good products, and other days everything will look horrible.I wish they had baskets. You either have to carry your items in your hand or get a whole cart. Lines can be extremely long at times. Its like late nights at Walmart where theres a bunch of customers and only 2 registers open. Also, bring your own bag if you dont want to pay 10 cents for one. Unlike Aldis, they dont have boxes to carry your items out in.
I realize that I should have known what I was getting into by going here but yeah... Its on the very low end of quality for a grocery. Youre better off going to Aldi if you can. When I went in to this Price Right I was just sad because there were so many people who were clearly living in poverty or near poverty shopping here. Again, I realize this is a societal/systemic issue but still, I dont want to be depressed when I go into a grocery to grab a couple quick things.
The prices are awesome and the meat selection is much better than tops. The problem that i have with this place is the service. I take two stars off because the employees dont seem to care. There apathy makes for really slow checkouts. It takes 20 minutes to get through the express line which is the only line I use. I couldnt imagine using the other lines. I wpuld imagine you have to really plan your day before you go there. Be sure you go on your day off.
The prices are usually very good here, Ive shopped at Aldi for years but Price Rite has quite a bit more to choose from, especially when it comes to fresh produce and international foods. Now I shop at both places. This Price Rite location is the only one Ive been to, but they could learn a thing or two from Aldi in regards to organization and efficiency. They are a bit disorganized and the checkout lines can be very long, regardless, my experiences have been pretty good. I dont mind waiting in line for a little while. Its strange that theyre so understaffed because evreytime I go there, they seem to be pretty busy. Im a pretty regular customer and Id recommend it
I prefer Price Rite bc it is a Convenient grocery store if I just need to pick up a few things. It is cheaper than Save A lot and Aldis and has more variety. The unfortunate part is that they usually dont have many cashiers working so the lines are ridiculous...especially at the beginning of the month
Almost 100% pleasant experience, good quality of meats, price rite brand goods as good as brand named items for the most part and at a more reasonable price and customer service when looking for items I couldnt find has been excellent, kudos price rite and assistants and thank you price rite for moving in...! Also, they have a fairly good amount of name brand foods at nearly half the price as Tops...
I go to Price Rite for two reasons.I suppose these reasons are some of the same reasons other people choose to go there also.1.Price Rite as the name states have good deals and one pays less for most items sold there. Though not all their prices are lower; some are higher. But I suppose in fairness this is how the extra profits are made.2.The other reason why I go there is that I cannot drive, and it is a short distance from where I live. However, I decided soon after arriving here in Buffalo City that Price Rite would not be the place at least for me and family to buy fruits and vegetables. Simply because having had tried organic foods for many years, most especially certified organics, there is no comparison, in fact, a world of difference in the taste. Natural versus conventional. I know there is a small section of the produce sold at Price Rite that is organic, whether certified or not I cannot say.Fruits and vegetables, for example, apples, grapes, tomatoes, or whatever is sold in the organic section go off very quickly. Two days and deterioration begins. We all know that all it takes is one ‘bad grape in that bunch to start’ the clock ticking so to speak..’.Now that bothers me simply because Price Rite ‘as ‘the name does not suggest in this situation’ have higher prices for natural products and are higher by at least one dollar than lets say Aldis or Trader Joes. This is just one opinion, of course, but once you have tried organic fruits, and vegetables in these other places, including the Lexington Market, the difference in the taste is vast. So if I have to get Uber to different locations or a bus if possible, I doIn all fairness to Price Rite, it is impossible to please all of us, and you guys do an excellent job at pleasing many of us.Yet, I do believe there is no reason besides price and time to produce; why- at this day and age when we know the harmful effects of pesticides and hormones to our bodies why Price Rite continues to sell the conventional fruits and vegetables to the extent that they do. Knowing what we know today about planet Earth and how much damage we have created thus far.? Finally, I have to ask the question of all questions here, and I am addressing the Corporates and owners here. Do you guys or ladies eat what you put on your produce stands? If you can answer that question with an absolute yes then fair play. If not, then it is essential here to be reminded of the Golden rule “Treat others the way you would like them to treat you.”
I must say that I absolutely love Pricerite!!!! The produce section is on point... If you dont eat fruits and vegetables I bet that you will start once you see this section. 😀 I have not ran into an unfriendly worker yet, at any of their stores. 💜💜💜. Keep up the good work Pricerite.
This location is convenient for most City dwellers, but at what cost? It is a typical Price Rite with their standard offerings but the place is staffed inside with rude and indifferent employees, and is staffed outside with equally rude unlicensed car service drivers and beggars. They do have a single off-duty Buffalo police officer in there providing security, but I would feel much safer at either the Cheektowaga or Kenmore Price-Rite locations.
Groceries are scattered throughout, not much organization. E.g. I was looking for a specific size shrimp tray, it wasnt available with all the other shrimp... But, I found it by a barely frozen freezer next to check out; why didnt they place a sign that it was in a different location? Its a regular item, not specialty. Also, there were 24 carts waiting for checkout with only 2 lanes open!!!... But, employees on the floor! It was wretched and all of the customers were disgruntled.
Not good ..... some light skinned Hispanic male wearing a light gray plaid fleece coat and sunglasses dark hair pulled back in a ponytale about 54 thinly build approximately 130 lbs. He tried to get in my car and was not aware that my teenage daughter was in the back seat she called me to let me know of a strange man hanging around the car Im on my way to the door as she ran out of the car screaming into the store. I ran out and thats when I saw him walking fast looking back! Police were called and description of guy was given. Security also aware. Camera in plain view located directly above my car should have seen everything. Word of caution lock all doors make your children come in store with you! Be careful and be aware of your surroundings! Store security was helpful and so was a young male employee who ran after him. But no luck in catching him!
I was in this morning and tried to go through the self checkout. Yes, I had 26 items, but what exactly is “about” 15 items? So, I was loudly and publicly chastised by one of the TWO cashiers standing near the self checkout, and herded to the ONE register that was actually open, just before someone with two carts was just as loudly and publicly welcomed to the self checkout. I can afford to go to Tops, so I will. I don’t need the disrespect and aggravation. You could further cut costs by cutting staff who do nothing but look for ways to tell the customer they’re wrong.
Nice prices , poor service, I tried to get help finding a item today the cashier told me I would have to go look again because she was to busy! Mind you there was no line behind me. I asked to speak to a Manger she shunned me away as if my money wasnt paying their wages or parts of it. Its sad how you get treated by a place where your going to spend your hard earned money!!!!!!!!!!!! I will never go there again thank you , but NO THANKS
Ive been to a couple of price rites, thinking that each store would be different. They arent. The store, staff and customers are all trash!!! At the Walden store a female manager was yelling what she thought was funny to another male manager in the parking lot. It was distasteful and completely inappropriate. She should not have a job working with the public. There isnt much good to say about the place. The produce department is probably the most disgusting produce department (especially the walden store) I have ever seen. They have alot of nerve putting rotten food out to be bought. Go to tops or wegmans and spend the extra money for quality food and employees.
Prices have risen lately at Price Rite. They still compatible with other supermarkets and they have a lot of varieties for different races and ethnicities, would recommend price rite on elmwood ave in buffalo to anyway, has public bathrooms, bottle return machines, self serice registers among other services.
The prices are great but they need to open more cashiers, too many people at the store and mostly 3 cashier open lines goes into the lanes wich it makes it harder to walk around to get the items you need. More starts when I start seen more lines open, I go to this prize rite a lot.
This place needs to help. Customer service is great but selling old sh*** thats a no no. Everytime i end up with molded bread, deserts have mold as well and some of the cans or other stuff is on the shelf that has expiration date. Thats horrible. I dont trust shopoing there anymore. 👎
Chaos.... pure chaos at times... cannot find a manager when you need them. Never ever shop there at the beginning of the month or during peak times because you will lose a year of your life at the checkout line. I recommend Wegmans where they care about the customers
I didnt even want to give this store one star...its not clean at all, smells, the workers and management are rude, the store is un-organized, found lots of out dated products, isles are crowded from products just laying in them, and if you have a question or help finding something good luck cause the staff has no idea. Also the prices were not good at all.
I have no ideal what Christopher is talking about. Ive shopped at all there locations. By far the one on Elmwood is by far the best one. If anyone have a problem with the one on Elmwood. All I can say is dont think about going to the on in Cheektowaga. I thank God we have a grocery store like Price Rite.
Standing in line at price rite, I only came in for cat food and decided to pick up ramen noodles as I havent gone shopping in months and figured if I was coming all the way out I should get the next few months supply. Rock the casbah is playing, a jubilant party hit, a song I mightve said I liked before this moment...What happened here? How could a place exist with the sole purpose of providing necessities and sustenance be so devoid of life? So absent of even a gleeful thought.Shareef dont like it The Clash continues. I dont either. This song seems to go on forever, almost taunting me. This seemingly insignificant errand became so much more, an opportunity for introspection, a moment to appreciate what true sadness looks like. Who could have thought the edge of the abyss was in a grocery line, surrounded by carts full of rice-a-roni and depression?Price Rite - A realm that which joy hath forsaken
NOT APPEALING AT FIRST TO THE EYE BUT THE ABSOLUTE BEST PRICES BY FARRR! ALL BRAND NAME. MUCH BETTER THAN WALMART ALDIS AND 1/2 THE PRICE OF WEGMANS. EXAMPLE: EVERDAY STARKIST SOLID WHITE $1.19 CAN, ETENMANS 1/2 PRICE. HAGENDAZ $2.89. DAWN BIG BOTTLE $1.99 NOT AESTETICALLY PLEASING BUT ALL TOP SHELF PRODUCTS.
I was there today october 9th today and I was physically threatened outside after I had finished my shopping about 5:55 pm will no longer shop here the clientele leaves a lot to be desired my life shouldnt be threatened due to shoppers ignorance be careful if ur gay these people are not ur friends

2021-04-11Love this place. Usually in the morning you can find many varieties of fresh vegetables, maybe toward the night the shelves are half empty sometimes. You can self check-out in this store and prices are reasonable here compared to other stores.

2022-02-22Good little Price Rite has a little bit of everything, but more often than not low stock and you have to be careful with the freezer foods. Sometimes you get them home and theyre already freezer burnt.
