Primary Care of Western New York in other cities:
I’ve been a patient of Dr. Felstead for 25 years and absolutely loved him. He’s an incredible doctor and has always been amazing to me…..unfortunately this practice has gotten so big and impersonal and I received a letter stating that I will no longer have him as a doctor because of a $50 copay for a video call when I had COVID that I didn’t even know I owed!! Call to straighten it out and met with horrible rude staff.25 YEARS!!!! And no way to even contact him about this outrageous situation! Very very sad what has happened to this practice. Still love Felstead, known him my whole life basically but I look forward to not dealing with the people at this practice anymore.
WILL BE GETTING NEW DOCTOR TOMORROW. Good dr if you are not chronically ill. HOLD TIMES ARE ALWAYS OVER 30-60 MINS. Unfortunately, I have quite a few problems, and recently required a CT scan and a er visit. Was told they were calling immediately with further instructions at 5:30 pm. I waited as I was having difficulty breathing, and the office was aware. By 6:30, no call. I ened up calling the office 3 times with no call back. I spent almost 12 hrs in an emergency room no thanks to them. I now have pneumonia. It is almost 36 hrs later and the only thing I got was a portal message saying you have pneumonia I will not tolerate negligence from any medical professionals. I worked the field for almost 12 yrs. No excuse to let people suffer. Disgusting.
I was just told that I was dropped as a patient because I missed an appointment. I had an appointment that was confirmed and then they changed it and called the house phone which is now my husbands cell phone. My husband never told me and because of that I was dropped. I used to be a patient of Derek Gullici I never miss an appointment ever. Not to mention when I called to discuss the situation the receptionist was very rude!!! If I could give zero stars I would!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ive been patient there since 2016 and my insurance company has paid them 1000s of dollars.over the years. I was misdiagnosed with COPD ,and for 2 years thought I had it! My pulmonary doctor called me one day and informed me that I dont have COPD !Recently I was released as a patient because of accumulated co pays of 96.00 $ ! Even though I made a payment! And worked out payment arrangements ,and was reassured I will not be released by someone in Billing !very cruel in my opinion. Also there were a few times when the receptionist were very cold and rude to me. I would not recommend them.
I was a patient at this practice for several years. I am a young healthy adult so didnt really need care very often so it was fine. However over the past 2 years, beginning with them encouraging me and referencing the safety profile multiple time for a medication they prescribed that I then had a severe reaction to, its all gone downhill. They didnt even know about the reaction that happened despite warnings being discussed and placed on the medication by the FDA starting in 2007. Their staff is so patronizing it has permanently altered how I see the medical field. Not to mention on any given day you have to wait on hold for 20 minutes for someone to even answer the phone. Well when the office called to schedule my physical, I informed them I was switching providers and gave the feedback that it is unacceptable to wait on hold for 30 minutes for someone to even pick up the phone. Yesterday, I received this letter that they are terminatimg our relationship.... Its hilarious and a total representation of how this practice views itself and its patients. If you are looking for a provider...might I suggest anywhere but here.
Ive always been treated well and with respect. Sometimes the phone wait can take a while but if you use the patient portal its quick and efficient. Ive been able to get in on the same day I call and have even had the office call me to check in after reading my portal messages. I love this group and feel well cared for.
They earned a poor rating for a reason; one of the absolute worst offices in the area. Sure, there are a few good staff sprinkled here and there but at the core, they are mismanaged and a business after your money. They will have you waiting for hours and hours between phone calls on hold and in the patient rooms. Then, they will get the newest, least trained staff to mert with you and incorrectly diagnose you. I highly recommend if you plan on going here, only go for basic things like a flu shot. Everything else leave to professionals that you can trust. They almost convinced me I needed emergency surgery when all I had was gas. Definitely get a second opinion for anything they say.... So just save time and dont go here. PS: only call if you can comfortably sit on hold for at least an hour.
This primary care provider is by far the worst, I have ever experienced. Huge money grab. You are not treated like a patient. There phone answering service is ridiculous. I was misdiagnosed more than once. Seen my dr one time after being a patient for 2 years. Called to cancel my appointment that was 8 am. Talked to no one. Waited for them to call me back. Never called. I called back 2 times that day . They never returned my call. Got a paper in the mail stating I was dropped as a patient. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else! Wish I would have. They dont even deserve the 1 star I had to give them.
I agree with others who comment about long wait times when you call. I just waited in the queue for 44 minutes. That is insane! We already pay so much for medical care, now we have to pay with our precious time too? I understand that everywhere is short-staffed right now, but there has to be a better solution. My suggestion: improve communication! Your patients need you! I will also just add that other than horrible phone system, they are nice people with a lot of locations and even extended hours which is convenient for people who work full time.
I have been a patient for years and unfortunately I have made a decision to look for a different primary that can better assist me with my health concerns. Not only do I have to wait on hold over an hour every time I call, but they are also not replying to my messages via the portal. 3 days ago I sent an email detailing my health concerns and they cant even call me. When they did call about my first message they left a vm telling me to write my concerns out on an email. I was sick a few weeks back and they refused to give be antibiotics even though I needed them desperately. I had to call several times and speak to the on call doctors to ask for help and only one of them actually understood that I needed help and couldnt wait ten days before being prescribed antibiotics. They have definitely lost a patient. Quick with billing though!
I almost don’t know what to say, because I’m taken back by how horribly some of the staff and doctors behave at this practice. The wait time when calling is totally unacceptable. This practice is Dr. Felstead’s baby. This place could have been great. You guys need to get yourselves together. You’ve treated your patients horribly, and fail to recognize that the patient is supposed to be the one in control of their medical care. We don’t have time to argue with you.
5 different locations with the same phone number is preposterous. Almost impossible to get a hold of someone in a timely fashion. My wife has been a patient of one of the Doctors at the 30 North Union Rd. Williamsville location and has not had problems with the quality of care. However, the phone system is in dire need of improvement. They expect everyone to sign for the portal for every non urgent inquiries which is not practical us with limited electronic wisdom. Reason why I can only give 1 star.
They are getting too big for the good of their patients and themselves. Established patients are put off on the p.a. or incoming residents, while the doctors focus on new patients. Trying to contact they by phone is nearly impossible, and emails to the doctor are intercepted by other staff members and often mishandled. When my wife and I complained about the office canceling our appointments that were made almost a year ago, they dropped us as patients when we demanded to see our own doctor over a medical resident or p.a. My wife and I have very serious health issues, and have been misdiagnosed by the p.a., so we thought that it was in our own best interests to see the MD, but the practice didnt think so. Very unprofessional, cold and uncaring attitudes towards us, without reason.
I have been getting told that my primary nor anyone else at this practice can help at all. I have been bounced back and fourth between GI and urology with no patient advocacy from this office. It has been 5 months ongoing on repeat infections and daily chronic pain to the pain I can’t sleep. After being on hold for 45 minutes and being hung up on, this is ridiculous. I call weekly if not 3 times a week to get help and answers and I never get a call back, frequently have delayed prescriptions and feel like I have to do all of the work advocating for myself when I don’t even understand the issue. I have been misprescribed antibiotics in the past and continue to be ignored by the practice despite my continuous attempts to resolve my health issues. Please get more help or whatever you need to in order to support your patient base. This is an extremely frustrating system and needs more resolution for the patients.
I just became a new patient at this office and I am not impressed! I just moved back to the area and have been looking for a primary doctor that accepts my insurance since December but havent had much luck. Because of this issue I have been seen at either the Emergency room or Urgent cares for multiple issues I have and finally got an appointment saw Dr. Niland whom was awesome but needed to make a same day appointment to see her urgently for a kidney stone and spent all day trying to get a hold of someone and didnt get a call back until 4 pm even with using the patient portal I didnt get a response. I finally got an appointment with a different provider and was treated like a drug seeker because they saw my history on healthy link and basically was told that I wasnt honest with them and that I shouldnt be going to the E.R. as much as I was, but I tried explaining that I didnt have a primary until a week ago and even said I have been trying to call to get seen but it was difficult to do so, the doctor said thats not true! Needless to say I left still in pain and didnt get any help for my issue. And then got a letter from them for a no show which I told the receptionist to cancel that appointment since I got in that day!
I have been pleased with the care I have received by Dr. Usen and his staff. The reason for my lower rating is that it is incredibly difficult to reach this practice by phone. I was recently ill and reached out by phone to set up an appointment. I was on hold for 52 minutes which is grossly unacceptable.
Phone message says their phones are on 8am-8 pm. I called at 7pm after waiting for a call back from 130 pm and they were off. Spoke to a doctor who told me nurses turn them off at 7pm so they have two hours to call back. Well then change your answering message. At one point the on call doctor said to me she is done with me...seems professional of a doctor to tell a patient that? While I am already frustrated with the patient experience to begin with. I will be switching doctors tomorrow. Same experience with the phone service last month, the doctor was a little nicer then.
I was a patient for over 20 years. I literally have not seen my primary there Catherine Tota-Thurn in probably 5 years as she is only interested in taking on new patients so she pawns her other patients off on her PAs. The front desk staff changes very frequently. I was in The office on 1/16/21 as I need my ear drained and had no insurance as I lost my job during the pandemic so had to pay out of pocket. When I was leaving I told the receptionist to cancel any upcoming appointments and I would call once my insurance kicks in at my new job. Needless to say she never cancelled my appointment and I received a letter last week that I was being discharged as a patient for missed appointments. I called to ask them what was up with the letter and explained the situation and they didn’t even care. I would never go back there anyway and I work in the medical field and people ask me for referrals all the time for PMDs and they would be the last place i refer patients to. Their loss.
Don’t bother calling you won’t get through. If your sick, their earliest appointment is two or three days from now, so what’s the point? In the days of telemedicine, they still have to see you in the office to help, and then they don’t listen to what you have to say. They only recommend over the counter treatments and won’t prescribe anything that will actually help you. They just want you to come in so they can bill you and run tests. The average adult can tell when they have the flu or strep throat- I shouldn’t have to wait multiple days and jump through hoops to get some help when I’m sick- they really kick ya when your already down. The worst doctors and staff in the area- so disappointing. I’m looking for a new one asap.
If I could leave zero stars, I would.Huge lack of professionalism with the doctors. There was a misunderstanding about blood work that had been ordered, and a fill in Dr called since my was out of the office. I ended up getting told by him it would be better if I found a new doctor.Tried to speak to my Dr when she returned and she just said the same thing.PATIENTS ARE ALLOWED TO DISAGREE AND SEEK SECOND OPINIONS. If your fragile egos are that threatened by second opinions, youre in the wrong profession. If you want to have a say in your care, do NOT go here. They will ultimately just terminate your care anyway.
I had my first appointment with Dr.Snyder today at the Lancaster office. The office was clean, the receptionists were friendly and attentive... they were also all wearing matching scrubs, this looked very professional! I was called back prior my appt time by the MA- she was very nice and accurate while taking my vitals and medical history. I think I waited maybe another 4 minutes before Dr.Snyder came in. She has to be one of the nicest doctors I have ever met. She was sweet, listened when I talked, knowledge and wasnt trying to send me for testing I did not need. Dr.Snyder did recommend an injection. The nurse who did the procedure was very nice and had a great sense of humor! I can finally say I have found a PCP I will not dread going too!As far as complaining about the hold time on the phone- it is a high volume PCP office, you should expect to be on hold. Once you are an established patient you are able to communicate through the portal. I highly recommend Dr.Snyder and the Lancaster office!
So happy with being a PCWNY patient. It’s great to be a part of a large physician network, I have a great DO but go see my NP regularly for appts as well as the PA as backup. Having multiple locations makes it easier to see someone for an urgent issue and they almost always have someone available same day for virtual visits as well. I’ve never had a bad experience with medical staff from assistants to doctors, and everyone makes me feel valued and welcomes like a person and not just a patient. They are very thorough with knowing my medical history as well as my personal thoughts and feelings about everything no matter who I am speaking with and really listen to my needs to understand rather than just to respond. Whenever I have an issue I can call and expect a call back within a few hours or I can portal message and receive a call shortly if I don’t feel like waiting on the line. Their ability to provide a constant line of communication through online services is above any other provider I have ever had experience with, and they even send out regular messages updating us on new covid developments. Thank you all at PCWNY!
This review is for the Depew office. Dr. Jaime Streicher is my primary and I have had her for a few years now. She takes really good care of you and has a very calm, caring and attentive nature to her. She listens to you and what you feel may be bothering you. I’ve heard horror stories of doctors who will try to tell you what’s wrong with you before looking into it any further. I highly, highly recommend her. Due to the negative reviews, it seems the front desk had a lot of issues in the past but they have a new staff and they are really sweet. I agree that the front desk does reflect the doctors because that makes the first impression in the office as a whole. A++++
Been coming here for a few years and everyone is always so friendly and nice. Dr. Lane is amazing. She is so calm and comforting when lets face it no one wants to go to the Dr. Parking is easy. Office staff pleasant, Dr. and PAs wonderful and never had any issues with scheduling. Very glad we found this practice and Dr. Lane.As for most of the bad reviews you can see they are due to lack of patient responsibility. Dont let the bad reviews fool you. I used to work in a Specialty Dr. office as a receptionist. Patients will get mad when they cant have what they want and as office staff you are following the practice guidelines. Every office has them with no show appointments as well as missed appointment fees. This is nothing new to any practice. As well as no longer being a patient after 3 years. That is standard around the bored as well as a lengthy time to become a new patient.
This Dr is awesome the staff is too. ,i have got nothing but best of care from Dr white and her staff.they always make sure ,Im ok ,I dont know about nobody else experience but me and my family recommend this Dr white to anyone, her spirit is so lovely and she has not never show me ,no concern ,always on point ,dont believe the negative go for yourself, this Doctor care for her patient and I recommend her anyone.love always,I like her because some people are addicted to prescription and a lot of doctor just give people painkillers. Dr white make sure her patience are taken care of and dont be addicted two drugs in the long run
I am shocked at the low rating some people are leaving for this establishment. I love this doctors office! Me and my children all go here. The doctors, nurses, and staff have never been anything but super friendly and helpful to us. Its true you may have to wait a little longer on the phone to make an appointment but that is one the reasons they also have a Patient Portal Program. You can make appointments there right away without delay. My doctor always gets back to me right away if I have any issues. I have never received anything less than stellar care there. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
If I could leave ZERO stars I would! you need to re-hire your front staff! They are the most immature, Incompetent, rudest set of secretarys I have ever encountered. Its a shame because they directly reflect the DOCTOR! When you try to make a new patient appointment they say they send you new patient forms well I guess they need to be re-taught how to mail things, because I never received anything and according to all these reviews it looks like this happens a-lot. When I went to my appointment ON TIME I was told I was late d/t needing an additional 20 min to fill out new patient paper work that I failed to bring with me. How can I BRING you in paperwork I was never mailed? Well when you try explaining this to the front staff they accuse you of being argumentative and lying. ( then they refuse to let you re-schedule ) Now TRY getting in touch with a clinic manager through this practice. IMPOSSIBLE! they refuse to have someone call you, and wont give you a name of the manager either. My insurance company will be notified, and im glad other patients are leaving TERRIBLE REVIEWS. Please DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT try to become a patient here. Maybe the doctors or the REAL office manager will start reading these reviews and do something about this AWFUL PRACTICE! If this office really does have an office manager I would like to be contacted.
After a not so friendly experience with the office staff, I realized the care is even worse. My first appointment with a new Dr. for my yearly physical lasted about 10 minutes. At that time Dr. White told me, you seem pretty healthy, I’m not going to send you for blood work. Have a great day! Yikes. Almost 1 year later I have a sick visit, at this time after asking multiple times to be swabbed for flu because my young son has asthma they refuse and tell me to call the pediatrician and just tell them I’m positive for flu, not to worry because they won’t actually check up on it. To say the least, this is not the type of care I am used to. I will not return.
Hardly leave reviews but they discharged me after a couple missed appointments I could not make. I called asking saying I wouldn’t miss again, expecting at least a warning, and simply told no because of a ruined “doctor-patient” relationship. I never even met the doctor the whole time I was there, and was passed along to a resident (who was actually very good). They also made me feel like a damn drug addict the whole time when they OFFERED to prescribe a medication my former dr prescribed to me - it was extremely uncomfortable. Also the wait times were always ridiculously long. I do not recommend them
I have been seeing a doctor here for two years now and she is very helpful. My husband sees her as well and she is very professional. I have no complaints about the medical staff. On the other hand their phone system and reception staff is terrible. They actually say on their answering service to call back on any day that isnt Monday, Tuesday or Friday. I think they have forgotten that they are in a service position and need to treat patients as customers and not burdens. I went into their office today to pick up a prescription that wasnt ready. It took me 5 minutes to be helped and there was NO ONE in line. No one even said hello or someone will help you in a moment.Doctors offices seem to forget that patients are customers!
Ive been going to this practice for years and was pretty happy with my care, however in the last 2-3 years it has steadily gotten worse. I rarely see the same doctor. The rotating receptionists are unfriendly and act as if they are being bothered. If they dont like their jobs they should find a new ones. Also, I had an MRI done over 2 weeks ago and no one has called me with the results. I have called 4 times this week and gotten a busy signal. 3 days ago I was able to leave a message and still no response. I am going to look for a new practice and would not recommend this one.
Ive been very patient with them for several years but I think Ive finally had enough. There have been several occasions where Ive been put on hold for 20-30 minutes when Im sick only to find out they have no appointments available and then I have to go pay a higher copay at urgent care. Receptionists are rude and so are the nurses. I was assigned a doctor I dont usually see one day and she kept trying to force a steroid on me which I knew wouldnt serve me well and she became rude and condescending for me refusing it - I ended up being just fine without it as I thought (you know your own body best and they shouldnt question that!). The limited amount of appointments is the biggest issue they have. I was a few minutes late for my medical clearance appointment and they turned me away and set something up just days before my surgery. I know most other doctors offices would be much more forgiving - Ive taken my patients at the hospital I work for over to the Buffalo Medical Group among other places and theyre much more forgiving if we are late. You must really love bad ratings guys!
I truly wish I could leave 0 stars. My provider. Dr.Sarah White has shown absolutely no concern for my health at all. I have been sick for the past 10 days and she refused to re-evaluate me because according to google the flu symptoms can last for up to two weeks. I kept telling the office that my symptoms have been getting worse rather than better and Dr.White could not even return my calls. I took matters into my own hands, went to urgent care, got a chest x-ray and was given the medication I needed because the virus turned into bronchitis. I am changing providers completely and will not be back. I did not think that I would experience any of these negative reviews everyone has left, but after less than a year of being at the office I have.
I dont understand why this medical practice has only received 1.8 stars overall. I am so happy to have found Primary Care of WNY!!! I love the doctors Ive met there, they are thorough, they email me back within a business day through the patient portal, theyve called me back in the middle of night within minutes when very ill, and my waiting room time is an average of 9.5 minutes over the past couple of years. Yes...I do time it. I have no complaints whatsoever...and the office I go to is within walking distance! P.S. To any of the reviewers who said that the practice wouldnt send for things like thyroid screenings...not true in my experience! They have recommended specialists without any problem and if I have asked for a particular blood test done...theyve approved it. I never, ever have had a problem with my scripts being properly called over to the pharmacy either.I have had many primary care doctors over the years...some have retired, and others I left because the care was terrible (BMG), or I waited and waited for over 30 minutes both times I went (UB).
My family (children to adult) has been patients at Primary Care of WNY for the last 12 years and cannot say enough wonderful things about ALL of the doctors and staff. The health care providers are kind and extremely knowledgeable. Many times, doctors have called at home just to check in. I can always get a sick appointment that day and all 3 offices are just fantastic. The patient portal is a great way to get in touch with someone if you have a question. I always highly recommend Primary Care to family, neighbors and friends!
As a now former patient, I am shocked at home this office is ran. I was a patient since 2012, but to no fault of my own wasnt seen in the office for wellness visits since 2015. Called back in July 2019 for a return patient/new patient appointment since I wasn’t in for over 3+ years, waited 45 mins on the phone to set up the appointment for this week with Tota-Thurn’s resident or her PA, (wasnt told who when I scheduled the appointment). If I wanted to see Tota-Thurn I would have to wait past January or February of 2020. I was told i would get a letter in the mail before my appointment with what I believed was the forms needed to fill out beforehand (even my gynecologist had mailed me her forms before seeing her), NEVER GOT ANYTHING WITHIN A MONTH AND HALF.I should have never made the appointment to return. I changed my mind and called another practice and switching primary providers. Called just this morning 4 days before my appointment was on hold for 15 mins to cancel the appointment which was spoken and taken care of within 45 secs. Shocker. Not. Not even and hour and a half after canceling said appointment I got a reminder call for an appointment I all ready canceled, SERIOUSLY! 🤦🏻♀️Best of luck to anyone trying to become a new patient within this practice.
I was rudely dismissed from their practice after missing two appointments, even after insisting I pay the fee they assess for appointments not cancelled within 24hours. I was dealt with like I was a piece of trash and undeserving of care by their facility despite being apart of the practice for years. What they didn’t care to know is I’d missed several of my own appointments during a stretch of three months, due to dealing with two terminally ill relatives, one of which I was overseeing their care (dad and grandma, who subsequently died 4 days apart), who’s needs came before my own. This office forgets that they are dealing with real people, and real life circumstances and should be more accommodating and considerate.
I have been going to Primary Care for about 15 years now, with one serious illness 10 years ago. I have seen most of the doctors (not any new ones) during that time I was probably at the doctor every 2 weeks for almost a year. I have never had a problem with anyone, have waited long in the office or for an appointment. I love Dr. Tota-Thurn and the PA Emily Mcgowan I wouldnt give them up for anything. I actually just came back from my annual physical today and am very happy with the service I received.
I have been going there for several years. When I make an appointment if my regular Dr isnt available I will see someone else, but for the most part I see my regular Dr. There isnt any one Dr there that I havent liked. The only reason I rated 4 instead of 5 is due to their phone system. There is always a long wait and their system doesnt tell you what number you are to give you the choice if you want to wait. So, I use the patient portal all the time and love it. I am always answered within a short time.
After reading other reviews, I wasn’t expecting a great experience with the receptionist when making my appointment as a new patient. However, the receptionist was actually so rude that I ended up hanging up on her. I cannot comment on my experience of actually going to this office as a patient, but the experience of trying to make an appointment was bad enough that I will absolutely not become a patient here.
I called as a new patient. I was on hold for nearly a half hour. When I did speak to someone they were incredibly rude and unhelpful. I had no clue how this practice worked, she kept asking me which Doctor I wanted to see, and to check the website. I have no clue which doctors are at which location, or what their specialty is, should I just pick one at random? Her tone was not helping either. Bad first impression and the only impression. The website did not give any details either except for a nice profile picture. Im thankful that the receptionist was so rude or else I would of missed the horrible Doctor ratings off many credible sites. Do your research first. I will not be a patient here.
The overall experience with the front-line staff was okay. I was greeted and asked to fill out forms. Then after that waited around 25 minutes to see the nurse who took vitals and asked questions. I then went to see Sara White DO and the whole experience felt very rushed and dismissive. Her overall tone seemed like she did not want to be there and that I was not knowledgeable about my own health or medical concern. She was condescending throughout the visit and just because my BMI and weight is a bit higher than average she treated me like I was less than. As she asked more questions I felt like she was trying to uncover that I was a fat slob. She did not have interest in getting to a solution for my medical problem. I know for a fact that DO/MDs (unless they have a PhD too) dont know much about my problem because they dont learn much in school, its a fact. But Ive had great experiences with other doctors who listen to my concerns and my own research and work WITH me to find the best possible care/next actions. Ive gone to graduate school and know how to read evidence based research. I have been improving and my move to WNY is why I went with Sara White... she was the only available doctor that could see me asap at the practice because she does not have many patients. I also heard that she is a newer physician which could explain her bedside manner and overall service. This was a horrible experience and I am switching PCP.
Looking for a new doctor. I call. I am told i have to go to website to pick one. i go to website, i pick one, i am told i have to call for an appt. I call. I am told i cannot have appt until March 16. they will not help me find one that can take me sooner. I am told You must pick your own doctor.. So, am i supposed to go round and round like this? I need a doctor RIGHT NOW. My previous GP left for a new practice, and I need prescriptions refilled in less than two weeks.
Ive been going to the Union Rd office for about 6 years now. I mainly see Dr. Fininzio, but on occasions when she is not available, I have seen Dr. Lane and Dr. Tota-Thurn. Everyone I have come in to contact with has been very friendly and caring. I have never had to wait long to be called back into the room and have also not had to wait long to be seen by the doctor once I am in the room. My favorite part is being able to contact them by using the patient portal. (It is a much easier and faster form of communication.) Dr. Fininzio has been very good about replying to any concerns I have via patient portal. In the instances when an email reply wont do, I am contacted by a nurse with in the same day. I feel like I am listened to and that my questions and concerns matter.
The WORST place ever!! the staff is clueless, argumentative, and could care less.I simply wanted a script filled. I brought in my script during my appointment to show them what I needed but some how they messed it up it took days, multiple phone calls, pharmacy request and incorrect medications sent to the pharmacy just to get this medication. Like what the heck!? It was exhausting and crazy I’m so done with this doctors office. The doctor also sent in a medication a breastfeeding mother should not use after I let them know I did not want anything that I couldn’t use because of breastfeeding the doctor insisted it was ok even after the pharmacist informed me that it was not ok to use.when they FINALLY sent the right mediation, the nurse let me know that the medication would be expensive and not covered by my insurance when I called to see how much it was it was only 15$. That doesn’t seem bank breaking to me this place is a mess.
I’ve only been to the Lancaster office once to see Dr. Streicher but I had a good experience . Front end staff was nice although maybe a bit immature. The waiting room was clean as well as my examination room. Dr. Streicher was pleasant and thorough. Additionally I like their patient portal and the follow up communications they sent me. I wish each location was reviewed separately. because I definitely recommend the Transit Road location.
I am completely shocked at the negative reviews. True, I have only been to the Union Road office, but I have always been treated with respect and efficiency by the schedulers and nurses on the phone and in the office. Yes, sometimes you have to wait once in the exam room, but at what doctors office isnt this the case? I would rather a physician or P.A. take their time with each patient rather than rush.
Please take heed and read the reviews before you even think of going here. They dropped me because of an unpaid bill of a family member which would have been paid had I known about it, now mind you we have been going there for 20 years. I even had appointments while this bill was due,and so did my wife and nothing was said, the way they inform you of being dropped is a letter. And then you have to deal with the very rude and unprofessional staff, but out of the kindness of their hearts they will give you 9 days of emergency care, try getting a appointment with them in 9 days and they will give you a refill on medication if needed which we did I usually get a 90 supply on medication but on the refill you only get a 30 day supply, now we have to find a Primary and get a appointment in 30 days NICE
This should be your absolute last resort for a primary care physician in the western NY area. 6-8 month wait to see a doctor for a physical. If a work or family engagement/emergency comes up you either see a PA who has little to no idea how to practice medicine, or you wait another 4-6 mos to get an appointment. A patient portal system excruciatingly frustrating to access, and phone wait times are ridiculous. The only way this works is as such a large group that Drs can get away without accountability. Aside from waiting 6mos to see one in person, they can operate in complete anonymity. All in all an utter joke of a service provider. You should absolutely look elsewhere for medical care
WORST DOCTORS OFFICE TO EVER GO TOO! I got discharged because of lack of respect because I cancelled some appotiments that I could not make. And my so called doctor Dr Darla Lane who NEVER actually seen me told me to go find another doctor that will prescribe my medication and she wasnt doing it anymore. Been there 5 years and only ever seen nurse practitioners. She she never been allowed to become a doctor. Lack of respect? How about NEVER SEEING YOUR PATIENTS. DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE not only are the doctors complete p.o.s but as is reception.HORRIBLE!
Dr. Briana Niland is the worst doctor I have ever been to. The last straw was when my PHARMACY informed me that I had to schedule an appointment in order to receive my medication. After hearing this I called Dr. Nilands office to schedule the appointment but was told that there were no openings until the following week and that I would not recieve my medication until then. I was denied a medication that I had been taking for years without any warning or explanation (no call/reminder that this was going to happen). And when I called them for advice on what I should do without my medication for a week they pretty much said I was s*** out of luck. I suffered a great deal under her medical care. I would only recommend her to my worst enemy. If I could have given her 0 stars I would have.
Ive been sitting in the waiting room since 12:30, it is now after two. My 82 year old mother sat in the exam room in that stupid gown and underwear for over an hour waiting to see her doctor. Sad, but this is not unusual here. She likes her doctor but these appts are poorly scheduled a d the office staff is of no help in remedying the situation. Anyone know how to make a report to the AMA?
Wow, I wish I would of read these before I signed my children up with Dr.s at this Primary Care of WNY. They dont care at all about the patient. I called to make an apt for my daughter I started at 8:00 a.m. and didnt speak with a live person for 1/2 hr. They gave her an apt at 1:30 at the Delaware office, she arrives and they tell her the apt is for tomorrow. She has really bad asthma and couldnt breathe. She asked if they could just help her and they said no. They said there is an apt at 2:20 at the Union office. She did not take it because she watches a little handicapped boy at 3:15. So I called and they were very rude. I finally asked for an office Manager and talked to a nurse whose name is Amy. Would not her looking after me in the hospital, no compassion. We argued then finally took the apt. My daughter is 23 and she asked why she isnt calling, because shes SICK. Also said maybe I should take her to the EMERGENCY ROOM. My daughter is sitting in the room and here comes Amy, sorry about the mix up but maybe next time you should use your big girl voice. How unprofessional. My daughter was taught not to argue with her elders. When ever she is there for a physical and has her inhalers sent to the Pharmacy they never receive it. My daughter and the Pharmacy has to call and ask for them to be sent. Its very sad.
Not even 8am and Ive already experienced ignorance.Scheduled an appt to check out a new doctor about a month ago for 11:20.(a DO office that came highly recommended-so i was excited) .Get the recorded reminder call for 7:20(which i wouldve never made because I would never be able to do because of bus pick up) Not wanting to wait longer for another appt, I made special arrangements so that i could make the early appt. Got up early to be there the requested 30 min early. Drove in darkness trying to find the place since, as a new patient, Ive never been there before. Get to the address listed and at 7:08 and it was dark. No lights on anywhere, so i call....and since the office doesnt open until 8 i got only the answering service. A few min later i see the lights go on, so I get out of the car and go in, just to be directed to another office down the business park. I walk in there at 7:25(so 5 min late for my 7:20 appt, which was supposed to really have been 11:20) and the receptionist, in a demeaning tone and a nasty face to match tells me that since I am late, the doctor has asked me to reschedule. I explain that i wasnt late and have been sitting in my car and tried to call, but she again rudely dismisses me. A patient in the waiting room even shook her head in agreement over the nonsense. So if anyone is thinking of going to PRIMARY CARE of WNY, you may want to re-evaluate.If that wasnt enough, a week later they had the nerve to send ME a letter stating that I missed my appointment and would not be allowed as a patient. Im pretty sure I made it ABUNDANTLY CLEAR that I would NEVER willingly visit the practice again. No need for the childish letter disguised as a professional way to get the last word. I wont be returning and I will do my absolute best to make sure anyone thinking of becoming a patient, knows how your office operates.
For my first visit to this office, I was told to come in 30 minutes early to check in; so I did, but then they made me wait for over an hour and a half to see the doctor. They let every single person who came in after me to go and complete their visits, and kept me waiting and waiting. When I asked why they wouldnt let me see the doctor, they said it was because I had come in early. What a double standard. They expect you to come in early just to wait, yet if you go in late they would cancel your appointment (according to all their messages and paperwork they mail to your house) What a terrible waste of my time!
Sitting in immediate care right now, after calling this office for an hour and a half of busy signal. I suppose this Dr is okay if you never get sick, but a primary care Dr that doesnt answer the phone is pretty useless. Its 2017, theres no reason to not have call waiting.
First off I love Dr. Szymanski and always will. This has nothing to do with him.Two different experiences. Took my daughter there because her eyes were red and swollen shut. She couldnt see. She also had ear pain. She saw a PA in training. She was told she had ear infections. A doctor had to be called in to verify the diagnosis. He said she did have ear infections and was given an antibiotic. The doctor never said a word about her eyes.I ended up taking her to an urgent care. The doctor took one look at her and said she had pink eye. They did tests to confirm. She was prescribed eye drops and was better by the next day.Second. She was hired at a daycare on a Tuesday and needed a tb test. She called primary care and was able to get in the next day at 3:15. She was told to go in Friday for the results but not until 3:50 because the test took 48 hours. They kept the paperwork she needed for the job.We went there on Friday at 3:50. The door was locked. A sign on the door said they were closed. Their website said they were open until 4. She called. Was put on hold only to be told to go to one of their other locations. The paperwork she needed was at that location so we couldnt do that. She was told there was nothing they could do. But they were sorry. She did receive a phone call shortly after that asking if she was near a quest. They told her they would call quest and fax all the paperwork to them. Now she has to go to quest tomorrow and hope they get everything right. If it wasnt for Dr Szymanski I would not go back and I do not recommend anyone else does.Update: quest does not do TV tests on Saturdays. Now she has to have it redone
Trying to get my husbands blood pressure meds when he is out is a nightmare. The pharmacy started faxing requests over a week ago, my husband called and left a request on their message line and I stopped in and spoke to the receptionist who said she sent the request as URGENT to the nurses for a refill. Still to no avail. We were on hold for an hour today just to be disconnected when the 12 oclock lunch hour hit. Not sure what else we can do for his life saving medication. ??????
If I could leave NO stars I would feel better. I was instructed to come in 30 mins early for a new patient appointment. ONLY to wait almost 90 mins before actually being seen. IF i am not seeing the Dr. I chose, and Im seeing a resident, WHY make me wait. AND this DR.. was rude, condescending and more worried about lecturing me than helping me. I will be reporting this to the practices management and If they wont help, the state medical board. This Drs actions are the reason patients are not honest and fear their Dr. I expected as a new patient to be welcomed NOT berated and made to feel like a common junkie.
Darla Lane was my GP here from 2005 to 2008. I was discharged in 08, right before I moved away from Buffalo. Little information was given as to why, and I was at a loss-- I had only visited three or four times. At my last visit, Dr. Lane had casually mentioned me getting a physical. Well, here we are in 2012 and I am trying to re-establish myself at Primary Care, only to find that Dr. Lane actually put me down for noncompliance. Of what, the physical? She should have been more up front about the fact it was mandatory I get the physical, and she should have asked me or told me more than once before listing me as noncompliant. The fact that this is following me four years later is unacceptable. When I spoke with the staff at Primary Care, they were rude and repeatedly interrupted me. At one point I actually had to state that I was not done talking. If you want up front and transparent medical care, this is clearly not the place to go.
I was interested in booking an appointment as a new patient, but was told that I have to select a specific physician and once I have selected one I can never change it. It was explained that the reason for this is because it is a partner practice and therefore, I might have to see a different physician other than the one that I selected and therefore, I cannot dislike one of them. When I asked how I was supposed to select a physician that I would essentially be stuck with regardless of his/her level of care, I was told I could Google them. Obviously this person never tried Googling a medical provider. I was also told that I could not select a physician based off of availability. I just moved to this area but was essentially told to arbitrarily select a physician that I would then be stuck with. This procedures makes no sense at all and is absolutely not the way to guide a patient into selecting a physician. I am appalled and will be seeking primary care elsewhere.
THIS IS FOR THE DELAWARE HEALTH CARETHIS DOESNT EVEN DESERVE 1 STAR BUT IT MADE ME CHOOSE IT IN ORDER TO POST A REVIEW.Such a disappointment from the start. I called to make a new patient appt. The initial phone call, the girl was rude. I needed to get in as soon as they could but according to their policy they couldnt recommend a doctor who could see me 1st. I has to pick one. Having a computer in front of me and asking the secretary to please walk me thru how to pick a dr. She seemed annoyed. She said I can only give you 3 choices to tell you who can see you 1st. WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So 1st dr was like 5 months out. 2nd was like 4 months out and 3rd which is like 3 1/2 months out. So I went the 3rd doctor because I was at my limit. Right there I shouldve known something. I waited this WHOLE time to see the dr. Dropped off all my papers early so they would be prepared. The day of my appointment I called to verify. They said I missed my appt by an hour. I cant believe I screwed it up, so that is my fault. I did somehow confuse another appt I had that day. She told me because of that I am no longer allowed to use them. I explained I obviously didnt mean to screw that up I dropped my papers and have a surgery in place 3 days after can they please see me. I am not that person to miss appts and especially this is a very important visit. She talked with what was my doctor WILLIAM SCHUELER and he said no. WOW SO GLAD THIS HAPPENED BECAUSE APPARENTLY THEY COULD GIVE A DAMN ABOUT PEOPLES HEALTH AND ONLY CARE ABOUT THE MONEY. I WILL FIND ANOTHE DR WHO ACTUALLY HAS COMPASSION FOR THEIR PATIENTS AND WILL SHARE THIS WITH EVERYONE.IM IN CUSTOMER SERVICE AND I KNOW HOW TO TREAT PEOPLE UNLIKE THIS PLACE.
Was here to see Dr. Rani, who is fantastic. However, if they could have made me wait longer I probably would have. Showed up on time for my appointment and still waited over an hour to be seen. The women at the front desk were slow. If seeing Dr. Rani go to her west Seneca location.
After 20 plus years at this practice, I called today and was told I was released from care by the rudest receptionist ever. Britany is name. She actually said bye bye and hung up. Apparently I missed appointments back is 2013 and then this year. Going back for years is ridiculous. I wouldn’t recommend this practice any long. Which is sad as they used to be awesome
Pleased with the entire experience at my new doctors office today and thrilled with her thoroughness of care, the time spent with me during my visit was more than I ever expected- I was very pleased to have finally found a kind and considerate doctor who took the time to help me with my healthcare expectations.
If i could give this doctors office negative stars i would. the absolute worst professionalism ive ever seen in my entire life and i wouldnt send my worst enemy here if they were ill. good riddance to this office and i hope that whoever is reading this has the brain cells to choose another office.
Nurses/doctors dont act like they care much about having you as a patient, and dont keep up on things like they should. Got my blood drawn about a month ago and still havent been called about my results. Called to ask and was told i would get a call back and still havent. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Going to switch as soon as I can.
I received a letter in the mail that my Doctor could no longer be my Doctor after 23, years. I get to my new Doctors appointment and they claim I am late-- after I took the day off of work and had to reschedule. The worst experience I ever had at the Doctors -- feeling like no one cares about your health after all these years!!! Not a happy patient!!
I have all the syptoms of thyroid issues and they refused to give me the script to get the bloodwork done for the full range of thyroid tests. I guess they want to wait until Im on my deathbed to find out whats wrong with me. 3 phone calls later and lets just say Im switching doctors immediately.
I have a been a patient of this practice for over a year now and they are great ! Dont let the bad reviews fool you, I dont understand why there are so many. You can usually get in the day you are sick, they have a portal if you cant get through the phone and the front desk girls are always very sweet.
First off I arrived 15 minutes early signed there was no body in the waiting area. Several people came in after me and 38 minutes later everyone people matriculate in everyone is seen in. Im literally 30 after my appointment time and still waiting. Then a new patient walks in Im still waiting. This is crazy!!!
When you call you are on hold FOREVER--then you cant even speak directly to your physician because you have to go through staff first who do not know you at all! Then when you need to make an appointment for yourself or your child then you have to see a doctor who doesnt know you and has never seen you or your child because you cant get an appointment with your primary! Its so frustrating!!!!
I would never recommend this place to anyone. The PA always talks to me like Im an idiot and the people who answer the phone are incredibly rude. I just got hung up on when I was in the middle of trying to ask a medical question. Now if I want to get the answer, I have to call back and be on hold for another 20 minutes while other callers are ahead of me. Insane. Im hunting for a new doctor.
I hate calling. I call from my cell phone number (which is the number they have on file) and its always busy unless I call right at 8:01am. But I can call from my office, phone which is an out of town number, and they dont have the number on file, but it rings and I can reach the receptionist.
They only care about a check! After five years with being with them, just because I missed a few appointments, they just drop me without a word and don’t care about the medical issues I have. Now I’m going to be months without medication since most doctors here are always booked. Oh and don’t call them, you will be waiting over an hour just to speak with someone who has a horrible attitude. Honestly it’s getting pretty ghetto there. Just go to Buffalo medical group for your primary care doctor. This place is not worth it at all!!
After being a patient for 23 years, .My father for 15 years prior to me, now passed at age 64. i have been dropped by Dr. Harbison for lack of co payment. I dont even know how much i owed, seeing ive always had insurance.. Anyways, id rather try my luck at a DRs that could possibly get me to live past 64. They dont listen to you, and think the body will adjust and fix it self..

2022-07-19Warning this a patient care mass factory1) there is no regular attending physician. Do not expect the same physician to treat you twice.2) Check your bill. I received a bill and my insurance said I should not.3) there is minimal way to contact them. You are asked to go to a web portal. If you call . Expect long wait times. If you reach someone, do no depend on messages being related to doctors.4) competency ,lack of in the office. Repeat directions and instructions with staff. Be clear they understand.5) if youre expecting warmth, or a personable experienceThis doctor office is a patient factory. Its mass produced patient care.

2022-02-05I, and my wife see a Doctor at this practice and have never been treated with anything but respect. Our Doctor is excellent and caring and has been able to help us with a number of problems. I would highly recommend this practice. Perhaps, the disgruntled patients should look at their own behavior before blaming others for theirs. A medical staff can be under a lot of pressure, and kindness an understanding toward them can be a big plus.

2022-05-02Phone linesWho doesnt want to hold for an hour when theyre not feeling well? Im currently at 1 hour 6 minutes on hold. The phones are only on for another 30 minutes. Do you think that there are this many people trying to call at 6:30 pm?? This isnt the first time either. Last week, I called and after a 48 minute hold, someone picked up and promptly hung up on my.I have been with this practice for about 5 years. The doctor I see is great, but the phone service leaves MUCH to be desired. They offer a prompt to press 1 to have someone call you back. I have tried this several times over the duration of my tenure as a patient and no one EVER calls back. I cant understand how this is tolerated. If the office is really this busy, hire more staff. If I can ever get through, this will be my last visit. I am changing practices.

2022-05-09The staff is nice at the office as is my doctor. But the reason why I am rating this place so low is because of their ridiculously long hold times. I have tried to call multiple times because I need the office to call a number to request treatment for me as my insurance told me to do. Over the last week, after calling multiple times, I have waited a combined 3-4 hours on hold. No one answered. When I do eventually give up I request a callback but receive no call. How am I supposed to get through to my doctor’s office if they can’t pick up the phone? After hours of waiting? Friendly people in person, but do not expect any customer service help whatsoever from their phone number.

2022-07-05Great doctors office, but the wait times are a joke. I ended up going to urgent care because I couldnt get through. If I could give this medical group zero I would. They wont return my pharmacies calls so I cant get my covid medication. I shouldnt have to play phone tag!! Start treating your patients with respect. I will be changing to a smaller practice to avoid this BS.

2022-06-17The worst primary practice Ive ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Youre just a number and a paycheck. Always have to go over basic things every appointment bc they cant take 5 minutes to skim the chart before coming in.Cant ever get a hold of anyone and if they do call back its 2-3 days later. They never follow up with you. If you need to cancel an appointment, youll get marked as a no call-no show, because you cant get through. Office staff is snotty and act like they have better things to do.

2022-02-22I love my doctor I go too here. But I had called to request to get something prescribed over the phone and requested a call back. I missed the call because I was at work and I had to call back and Have bee on hold for 40Min. I get everyone is short staffed and what not but there should be a different line people can call if they miss their call back and have to call and wait all over again. I hung up because I had to get back to work and cannot be on hold much longer.

2022-07-11While I have had great experiences with the physicians themselves, I find the staff, mid-levels, and especially the residents to be quite AWFUL.Avoid calling the office at all costs. You will not get through, get put on hold, or not get a clear information.Since all the physicians are DOs (and not MDs), I had expected a more holistic approach to care, but the mid-levels seem not to follow that method.I had a horrendous experience with a 3rd year resident recently. I complained of back pain identical to the back pain I experienced when I had pneumonia. She was dismissive, made me feel like I was crazy, and only prescribed a chest x-ray because I dont prescribe chest x-rays, but it really sounds like you want me to write a script for a chest x-ray. I am sure it will come back normal. Results disclosure only exacerbated her incompetence. I was charged $95 for a visit with a physician I NEVER SAW.I would not recommend this place, certainly not if you have limited to no medical knowledge.

2022-05-16I would give zero stars if possible - I had made an appt with Tota-Thurne for a general physical that I waited 5 months to make. When I arrived, no one at the front desk mentioned any amount due past or otherwise. They informed me since I had symptoms of a sinus infection they would not do the Physical, but would see me for my symptoms. Tota-Thurne did a basic respiratory check and rapid covid test - after telling me I was negative for Covid, and before I could ask any questions, she told me I would be discharged from the practice today for an overdue balance of $139, which I would have paid if the front desk would have informed me. Tota-Thurne THEN told me theyve sent out numerous mailings and my address hasnt changed so today I would be discharged from the practice. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL, after waiting 5 months to be seen by her for my Physical, all I had was a Covid test, quick check and dismissal. If Tota-Thurne doesnt understand how to hire competent staff so SHE can practice medicine and not Accounts Receivable, I dont want her very below par, incompetent care. Stay away from this practice. Your doctor should be more concerned about your health and well being, not your balance due.

2022-07-18My daughter goes there and it’s ridiculous that she waits hours for someone to answer. Why have a call in center? Unacceptable! Unbelievable! Very poor patient service. She teaches so to hold on for this length is terrible. I just told her to call my primary and stop going to Primary care! Disgraceful!
