To he honest this is a nice place to eat but the fact that we made a reservation and them canceling on us is disappointing. Was never even informed. We drove 45 minutes away for them to tell us the the grills broke while we are looking at them setting up wjat looks like a buffet.
This is such a beautiful venue. The grounds are spectacular. The customer service is excellent. I do want to dine here next visit. We attended The Feast of the Fields yesterday evening, and it was a great turnout. The event was a fun-filled, delicious evening featuring top chefs preparing small plates from fresh ingredients harvested by local farms, along with enticing products and drinks from local producers. A silent auction filled with items and experiences from local businesses and artisans.
Classically beautiful exterior with a conservative and classy interior. Excellent staff service upon arrival. Amazing bartending assistance. Great selection of cocktails. Gorgeous views from terrace outside dining. Good table service, excellent time on the food delivery. Outstanding quality of the food. Our steak was a little overcooked, table service did forget a couple side items. Overall the entire experience was very good from start to finish. Prices are moderately high. Access to all areas of dining are handicap accessible.
We celebrated my husbands birthday in this fantastic restaurant and we had a blast. This great restaurant offers a fine dining experience in very exquisite unassuming surroundings. All three courses were cooked to perfection with splendid tastes. The guest service was superior. I would give them 10 ☆ My favorite place from now on!
Food was decent. My steak had to be sent back as it was quite rare when I wanted medium. I was pretty surprised they didnt fire me a new steak but merely took the two halves and broiled it? If you temp my steak so incorrectly it needs to be sent back then at this caliber of dining Id expect another steak to be fired. Otherwise service was flawless (if a tad slow) + dinner was delicious. The smoked chowder + Surf & turf roll were delicious apps.
Take out: Charging credit card twice, which took several phone calls to correct.Tried take out again. 35 minute drive to pick dinner each time.. This time order was incomplete.Staff members are quick to respond to guest recovery. However when you arrive home and your family is hungry it his highly disappointing. Not what you would expect from Prime.
This is a 3.5 star review. We had a large family gathering at prime for dinner. In total there were 8 of us. Service started a bit slow but was good overall. We started off with a seafood tower, oysters, steamed clams and mussels, and a wedge salad. All of the seafood was very good. The oysters in particular were delicious, though I was getting shell fragments in 2 out of 3 oysters. The wedge salad was delicious. When we went to order our main courses we were informed they has no ribeye (cowboy) steaks. The waitress let us know they only had one to even start the evening and it was sold. This was really dissapointing for a steak house that has four steak options to choose from. We all picked our cuts from what was remaining. I got the dry aged bone-in strip. All the steaks were quality and cooked to the proper temperature but were underseasoned and badly needed salt. For sides we got mashed potatoes, truffle fries, mushrooms, cauliflower gratin, and jalepeno creamed corn. The mashed potatoes and troufle fries were good. The creamed corn came out cold to the touch, and I mean actually cold, but was replaced with a luke warm one. The mushrooms really lacked any flavor. They werent well seared (floppy and somewhat grey) and needed salt. The cauliflower gratin is a whole head of cauliflower covered with cheese sauce and baked. It was good but came out after everyone was already done eating their steaks. It was also cold in the center. For desert the table shared a few maple cheese cakes and creme brulees. They were ok. Bacon on the cheese cake wasnt great and the matcha pound cake with the creme brulee was dry.Overall we had a decent meal but at the price point I expect more. Also, I worked at prime years ago and the quality seems to have gone downhill since Mazzone left. I will likely stick to the lounge if I return.
Definitely will go back. We was seated out on the terrace. Beautiful views, great atmosphere. Tables was far apart you didnt have to feel uncomfortable. The customer service was excellent and very attentive. I had the sushi, salmon entrée It was good. I think the atmosphere was better than the food.
Had my husbands 75th birthday dinner last week. Service and ambiance was fantastic. Waitress was attentive to our needs. The seafood appetizer exceeded our expectations. Portions of dinner were good. In spite of all we had to eat and drink we managed to save room for the titanic for dessert.
My wife and I travelled to Saratoga Springs for our anniversary, and I wanted to pick a special place to celebrate. The earliest reservation I could get at Prime was 8 PM, which is a bit late for steak, but after reading the reviews, I booked it anyway. I expected this place to be vibrant and busy. It wasn’t. I expected the food to be delicious. It wasn’t. My Caesar salad was overdressed, but tasteless. Our strip steak was just as tasteless, something unusual for a prime strip. The baked potato undercooked, and the onion rings came from out of a bag. The only pleasurable aspects of our evening was the blue cheese wedge salad and our server. I should have stuck with Morton’s.
We had the porterhouse with lobster. Side dishes were mashed potatoes, asparagus and cream spinach. We rated each dish, except the spinach which was just ok, as a 10, even the bread was perfect. Creme brulee was excellent but peach cobbler was just acceptable. Outdoor dining experience could not have been better from service to the view. All in all 5 stars. We would like to add the comment that this is not a cheap meal. The above dinner was $360.
My boyfriend took me to the Prime for My birthday, has a romantic setting. Excellent customer service, our waitress was very nice she checked on us Often, made sure everything was to our liking. Food came quick, the food is Pricey but is well Worth it. I recommend trying the Shrimp sargos appetizer, so flavorful. We had steak was delicious as well. We tried the strub riesling spatlese, loved it will be buying it. Our dessert was so good we got the titanic. We loved it, especially the romantic setting. I highly recommend this place for any type of date. You will not be disappointed. Lets just say my boyfriend is now my fiancée ❤️
Unfortunately, my party of 10 had a rather upsetting and frustrating experience here today. We had a reservation for a wedding venue tour at 1pm. We had arrived a couple of hours early, spoke with reception and were seated in the restaurant to await our appointment. Come 1 oclock, the receptionist comes to our table to let the bride and groom-to-be know that because there was no official appointment we would have to come back for a tour since the guide is busy with another event. The bride and grooms family and wedding party have come from 3+ hours out of town for this appointment. We are shocked to hear this kind of statement and not an apology or explanation for their mistake. While they knew we had bene waiting for the appointment, no one came to check on how were doing or to ask if we needed anything. I feel that our group was completely disrespected. After the bride had to explain that there was indeed a booked reservation, the receptionist replied with oh really, thats unlike for him to miss a scheduled visit. She didnt say she would check the books or find a way to now accommodate us after we had been waiting for our tour. While waiting some of group had ordered beverages, they were not made correctly and one friend had waited 20 minutes for hot water to go with the tea bag she was brought. Given the circumstances, you would think that being offered beverages and a bread basket is the least that could have been done to appease us. I dont believe the customer service here is worth any amount of money or time. For the price point here, you would have the highest expectations but in this case it they went way below let alone meeting them. Sad and disappointing.
Incredibly disappointing experience. I reserved a table for 10 for a company lunch, we sat outside at 1:30pm and the sun was out but it was windy. Another tables umbrella similar to ours broke off, so they closed ours due to the wind. They brought two other umbrellas that covered three people. We had to rearrange them ourselves with no help from the staff, except for Nick. One umbrella was falling over, which we had to hold up ourselves so we weren’t hit in the head with it, in which the supervisor sarcastically called a member of the group Mary Poppins. We sat for an hour with one round of drinks and no food thanks to this fiasco. I asked for a manager and we were brought Bonnie, I believe was her name, and she could not have been more rude or provided worse customer service. Food was mediocre at best.one of the members of our group had never been and was very excited to try Prime for the first time and will not be back. The only good part of the meal was Nick who continuously filled our water and helped as much as he could with the umbrellas, I’d give him 5*. Very hard to believe this restaurant is at all associated with 677.
The place was just..... underwhelming. High end prices but mediocre at best food. For a $51 steak I was expecting something amazing but it was no even as good as an outback filet. Salty and unevenly charred. Tasteless. No sides or salad come with such an expensive steak either. The hostesses were short tempered and confused. Even though we had reservation we had to wait half hour and tables were empty. No apology or explanation. Not recommended.
Went to Saratoga Prime for a family dinner. I ordered the special of Wagu beef…… it was not Wagu!!!! I’ve cooked different grades and have had it at restaurants, it was tough as shoe leather. Our appetizer took 45 minutes to get and our entrees another hour and 45 minutes. All of the food was unremarkable and service terrible!! I’ll buy my own meat at Fred the Butcher and have a 5 star meal!!!!! Never again at Prime!
Ate lunch here today. Ordered a NY steak panini. What came out was a steak not a panini. Sent it back and received the worse sandwich I have ever had. Not steak but a cold anemic looking excuse for beef. Sent this back. Was told by the hostes she had looked at the panini and was embarrassed that it had been sent out. Asked if I wanted something else but said No as the other 3 people I was with had finished their lunch. Again asked if she could offer me a dessert which I accepted as I was hungry. When the bill arrived I was charged for the panini. Asked why as I had sent it back. Was told I had been given a dessert in place of the panini. The dessert was $12, the panini $21. Said I would pay for the dessert but not the panini. Really felt I should have been given the dessert and not charged for either. Will not go back! Would give it NO stars if I was able.
Our party had a delightful evening. I cannot say enough about our server Chris. He was spectacular. His knowledge of the food and wine were so impressive. His suggestions of wine with our food was right on and top notch! He was professional, friendly and very attentive to our group. We will absolutely be returning for another amazing dinner, lovely ambience and a wonderful server! Thank you Chris for an outstanding evening! Prime is lucky to have you!!!!
Saratoga National really has a wonderful view for dinning and their chocolate cake is great. However, if I had to rate just on the filet mignon I would give it a 1 star. It was tasteless. Outback Steakhouse has better filet mignon. I smoothered it in the bearnaise sauce to get any flavor. Not $50+ quality meat. I will say I have been to Saratoga National in the past and loved their steak so maybe something changed. I will return but will definitely not get their steak.
Went for happy hour and stayed for dinner. Place is gorgeous. Staff is attentive. Shrimp tempura rolls and filet were awesome. Salad tasted great too.Wedding was in progress and our food came out perfectly and Gould never know they were feeding a huge crowd.Management checked on us frequently and we will be back!
This place came recommended by a friend for brunch. There were 8 of us in the party, the service was good, the place was very loud and you had to yell across the table to talk. 7 of 8 of us were very displeased with the food. It was not pleasing to the pallet, the kettle chips tasted like barbecue potato chips, the bluberry lemon pancakes were not edible and the breakfast burger came out cooked wrong and without the hashbrowns. I will not be going back and do not recommend this place to eat with familt.
This place was a total upset. Came here with family, and the beautiful ambiance outdoors did not match the dine in area. 1st the host was too busy on her personal phone to acknowledge me and walk us to the rest of our party that was already seated. The waitress did a poor job with confirming our orders (smile, eye contact, simple waiter gestures that reassure the guests they are being listened to) and made it uncomfortable to return something that was wrong with our order. Then there was no altering of the menu whatsoever, not even for the kids. The lemon and blueberry pancakes was just a huge question mark.. who makes lemon pancakes?!? They came out BURNT . The food was upsetting all around, and you expect with a pricey menu that you’re getting tasty food but sadly that was not the case.
The food, service and ambience at this establishment was incredible. The knowledge of our server Chris was absolutely spectacular. He truly made our evening very special. The bottles of wine he suggested were lovely. We definitely will be returning and will request Chris as our server. He was the BEST! Thank you Chris! You were amazing!!!! Prime should be lucky to have you and value your service. We were recommended to have you as our server and Our party won’t have anyone else!!
Enjoy both dinner and jazz brunch. Dinner service is always upscale and everyone is very friendly and helpful. Food is fantastic. The jazz brunch shouldnt be missed, sit in the lounge if possible as thats where the band plays. Great selection of delicious pastries, fresh made omlettes, pasta dishes, french toast, and pancakes. The mimosas are expertly made and a great addition to the meal.
The family had a luncheon gathering for My daughter’s graduation , on May 24, 2019, we had a good time. The place was clean and the view breathtaking, the team was very nice. The place was packed, no parking space available, a waiter came out in the lot to show a couple of our guests where to park their car. The food was great and the service was exceptional. They exceeded my expectation. I highly recommend Prime Restaurant in Saratoga SpringFrida
Worst service I have ever had at a restaurant and it was not overly busy, and was a Wednesday night. Our table of 3 sat down at 8pm, appetizers finally arrived at 8:50pm (oysters, soup and prosciutto melon, not anything difficult to throw together). Entree did not arrive until 9:40p. Had to ask for bread and that showed up eventually. Whilst the food was good, for the price you pay for it, I would expect a lot better service. Will not return.
Service was awful , our server was too interested in engaging with diners that she obviously knew than ensuring all her tables were having a good experience, seated at 6.31 place was half empty order for drinks taken at 6.45 wine arrived at the table at 7pm, it was so bad we contemplated walking out. We ordered and server got the starters wrong! Onto main course and my partners steak was cooked rare not medium as requested, returned to kitchen.... another wait, a small bowl of raw halibut with peppers served to ease the pain!. Had to ask server to remove the side ordered by my partner from the table until the steak arrived back.... basic stuff. Ambiance non existent.... decor dull and dreary ..... acoustics poor, tables are wide and difficult to hear conversation.... maybe that’s why there were so many available tables and late booking was easy. Not what we expected and definitely won’t be back. We dined at Black and Blue the previous evening-a totally opposite experience and well worth checking outI sent my contact details to the management 2 days ago but have heard nothing, a response for the audience I suspect!
This steak house was great. We arrived early and luckily they were able to seat us. The were courteous and friendly. The food was great. The appetizer Caesar salad I ordered was a tad small but very good. The Filet mignon melted in your mouth like butter. The dessert was great too to celebrate my wife’s birthday. They had valet parking and the place was very nice.
The chef’s imagination is all about SALT! Presentation was very poor. He/she stuffed a lot of salty salad in a little narrow bawl. Place is really nice, mismatch with the food and service quality. I noticed some tension among employees. Leadership must pay attention to customers feedback and make their employees happier.
We had a drink at the bar- we had plans to be elsewhere for lunch. The view of the eighteenth hole from restaurant seating on the terrace is superb... But we were having a drink only on this visit. Bar staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and created a Old Fashioned for me using a locally-sourced Rye, which combined for a delightful drink. The entrance to this place reminds you of a church, and, in a way it is, a church to golf.
My wife and I decided to try Prime for the first time. Needless to say we were very impressed. We had reservations for 5:30. Our Server Emily greeted us promptly returned with drinks and a wonderful bread basket. My porterhouse came out perfect, the stuffed baked potatoe was great and the sauteed spinach was fabulous. The Filet with garlic mashed my wife ordered was outstanding. I would highly recommend this steakhouse!
Generally, I am a big fan of both Prime at National and 677, but I went to Prime at Saratoga National last night (first night of restaurant week) and the experience was so absurdly awful that I feel compelled to write about it.We made a reservation for 8 PM on OpenTable, and arrived at 7:45. When we walked in, there was literally nobody standing at hosts table. I am not sure where the host was, or what they were doing, but eventually some guy pops up in his powder blue sport jacket letting us know that they were just preparing our table. He disappears again for an eternity, and we are left standing there waiting again for at least another 5 minutes. It took more than 10 minutes from when we approached the desolate hosts table to when we were seated, and we werent greeted for more than 5 minutes after we arrived. So after waiting more than 10 minutes, he leads us into the restaurant area. There are two, maybe three other tables that are occupied in Nationals expansive dining area. Im not sure what table they had to prepare as every table that wasnt occupied was meticulously set up and ready for guests. We ordered the surf and turf roll, the hot rock, a $47 bottle of wine and then the restaurant week offerings for $30 each. The surf and turf roll is a staple of any Mazzone/Ortiz restaurant, and it was delicious and satisfying as always. I had never seen the hot rock before, as I dont think that its on the menu at 677, so we tried it. The experience of cooking your own American Waygu at your table reminded me of the Melting Pot restaurant. I would never order this appetizer again. The quality of the meat and the dipping sauces (??) that they brought out were mediocre. Rather than wasting $24 on that garbage you would be better served getting 2 ounces of Kobe for $50.The appetizers that came with the restaurant week were mediocre to average. I had the beef stew, which tasted like it came out of a giant plastic bag and was microwaved for about 30 seconds too short. The first bite I took was a spoonful from the very top of the bowl and it was cold. Its not that it wasnt hot, it was cold. It served more as an indicator of the upcoming weather than as a respectable course of food at a Mazzone restaurant. My girlfriend had the brussel sprout salad with feta, which was not bad.The main courses were the only bright spot of this awful dining experience. They were sized properly and tasted excellent. I had the salmon and my girlfriend had the short rib. I really enjoyed the salmon, and my girlfriend liked her short rib, which I thought was marginally better than just okay. The absolute worst part of this dining experience? The proverbial cherry on the nowhere to be found sundae? Undoubtedly the dessert. What an unbelievable disappointment. This dessert was pathetic and whoever thought to serve up two spoonfuls of mousse in a mason jar should be fired. The dessert served as a microcosm of the entire meal in general. Normally you expect Prime to deliver top notch service, with excellent food and a wonderful ambience...and instead you receive nothing of the sort.I am not sure if its because it was Monday night, or Restaurant Week, or Monday night during Restaurant week, but its tough to understand how a restaurant that normally does such a good job could deliver such a terrible meal. I am spoiled because I am used to being waited on by either Mark or Susan down at 677 (its not possible to find two better servers at any restaurant in the capital region) and I was not expecting to be served by the B team at Applebees, yet here we are.In short, dont go to Saratoga National during Restaurant Week. They clearly do not care about the dining experience of their guests during this time. There were 3 tables occupied while we were there and that it is even too many for them to handle, as is evidenced by the 10 minute wait to sit down.National, if this is what youre going to offer up during restaurant week do your restaurant and your guests a favor and dont participate next year.
Steaks are great. Like all upscale steakhouses, the prices are high and side dishes arent included. If you just order a steak, youll get just a steak. Service and atmoshere were good. Wine list is extensive but expensive, with most bottles starting at about $60, but there are a few more reasonably-priced selections.
Great steakhouse menu, good drinks and great staff. Best place for a drink after races (outdoor bars and fire pits) and best for charity party or business event. PRIME is one of the original places that started Saratoga as a “foodie” town and it’s still going strong —in spite of all the new competition. Happy hour food specials here are the best kept secret in town. Greg, Mike, and Mike at the bar will provide great drinks, VIP service, golf tips, sports updates, and more. Tell them Woodie sent you!
After sitting for 30 minuets to get a drink order in we decided not even to order food. They came back with 2 glasses of champagne... 1 full glass and 1 half glass. Lol. Service was awful. Very nice and expensive place... you would think they would treat paying guests a little better. We went to Longfellows. Food was amazing! Sorry Prime. Get it together.
Ive been going to Saratoga National since it opened and its the most beautiful place to visit in the Capital area.Things have changed over the last few years. Theyve lost a great deal of some great employees that have moved on to other quality restaurants in the area. The entertainment quality is not as it was at one time and the area really needs a place like Saratoga National to have great entertainment.Prices are high at the bar for what they pour you for cocktails. Big disappointment compared to other restaurants in the area. With hands on management, they can make it happen again.
The service was amazing, but the food was not. The kitchen must’ve been a hot mess that night because there was something wrong with almost every entree. My friends and I made a reservation for restaurant week to celebrate our friendship. Even though we each ordered from the special menu, we also had three apps and two drinks each. It was not a small tab by any means. The apps were good, but once we started our three course meal it went downhill quickly. The sweet potato soup was really good. Probably the best item. The salad, however, was plain, boring, and lack luster. The vinaigrette had no acidity whatsoever which made for a sad salad.Three of us had the steak entree served with asparagus and polenta (I think?). One had the chicken dish. The chicken dish was decent, and the steak was cooked well but there were several mistakes on our plates. For one - the tough part of the asparagus was not cut off properly on all three plates. While talking to my friends I had the disgusting experience of having to spit part of my food out because it was inedible. I would expect this mistake from a chain restaurant but not from Prime. Whoever was in charge of the asparagus should be fired. On top of that, the polenta dish had so much seasoning on it that it was disgusting. I could hardly stomach it. I tried to mute it with the steak but nope. And FINALLY the last straw. The dish came with a corn muffin. I bit into it expecting a corn muffin. What I tasted was the overpowering flavor of fish, like someone dunked it into a vat of seaweed. When we asked the waitress about the corn muffin she said it was garlic and herbs. Someone grabbed the wrong seasoning bottle because no way in hell was that garlic and herbs. I’m not crazy - three people tasted it and gagged. Then dessert. I finished off with the cheesecake which did NOT have salted caramel listed on the menu. If I had known, I would’ve ordered the red velvet cake. It was as disappointing as the rest of the meal.We paid a lot of money for some of the worst food in the region. Never again.
We visited Prime tonight for our anniversary. Our check was almost $200; our staff was attentive up until we received our check. We advised Nancy our server we had a gift card in which she responded Let me see it, its a process to do the gift card (in a rude tone) and walked away to the front, she proceeded to attend to other tables and clean them as we sat there and waited for a revised bill. Other servers were walking back and forth checking to see if we left yet, assuming they wanted to clean the table. Our second server Rebecca was very kind and attentive. Nancy finally returned with a revised bill and tried to quickly walk away, my boyfriend said to her do I pay with my card up front or where?, she hustled back and grabbed his card the check quickly not saying two words and walked away, she came back and said we were all set and walked away. When we were walking out our server Rebecca wished us a great evening while Nancy, walked by us and wouldnt even make eye contact or say two words!Your servers shouldnt care how a bill is paid as long as its PAID. Our gift card was for $150, which we received a year ago but regardless your staff shouldnt only be nice to their guest if they think their rich. We are appalled and dont understand how it makes us less of an important guest just because we had a gift card.Ive been to your restaurant and had annual work functions. This was not my first time within your facility.
I have eaten here for several years but last night was not good. I ordered monk fish because I was very limited in what I could eat due to dental surgery. Asked if I could have baked potato with sour cream instead of the regular veggies. No problem. So for a piece if rubbery monk fish and one baked potato it was 39 dollars! They charged 11 dollars for the potato!

2022-03-28Their chowder is good. Really developed broth flavor. Thats the only thing I can tell you about their food, because the only time I can afford to eat here is during Chowderfest. Still, I enjoy my yearly visit for chowder 🙂

2021-10-18Lunch outside viewing a beautiful autumn day. Service was impeccable. Saratoga chips were outstanding. Best turkey wrap I have ever seen. Beautifully toasted. Burgers so, so. Decent pour of scotch.

2021-08-12Beautiful place. Had lunch there. Was a lil upset to see an item was an upcharge and I was not told that when ordering. Same with my friend. The choices were mentioned as if they went with the meal. Other than that food was good and service pleasant.

2022-05-25Had a reservation for a large group (10 + 2 kids), was seated quickly and made sure the outdoor seating was shaded for us as it was a very hot day. The menu was limited but had a decent selection, the steam pots are apparently the signature. I ordered fish and chips with extra tartar, which I really didnt need at the fish was actually small chunks of cod in a bowl, was well prepared, but my extra tartar turned out to be blue cheese (not a pleasant surprise). Girlfriend ordered the wagyu smashburger, which wasnt really a smashburger as there was no crust on the outside and it was very greasy (somewhat expected from wagyu), but it can be prepared to not be that way, good flavor from the meat, but the rest of it was underwhelming, I have had much better for much less money. Often was some time between servers checking in to take additional drink orders (not sure if this was short staffing, but it appeared that there were several staff there). The location is without a doubt spectacular and beautiful, I will undoubtedly play golf here, but will likely find another establishment for lunch.

2022-06-29Very nice dining experience, excellent presentation of the food. Staff was friendly.I was disappointed in the bar, which either lacked the experience or resources to prepare two common cocktails.Overall I was happy with the venue and would recommend Prime to most of my acquaintances.

2022-05-16The worst spoiled fish platter. So disappointed with the food and service. We waited 40 minutes to just get our drinks. They were very understaffed. We ordered the seafood tower. The crab was smelled disgusting- completely rotten! The shrimp were rubbery. Used to be one of our favorite restaurants… not any more!

2022-03-24Absolutely the Best meal we have ever had. Most expensive but for a special event like an anniversary We highly recommend it. I would give it 10 stars if I could. The wait staff were top knotch class and professional!! 🏆⭐️⭐️⭐️
