Prime in other cities:
Beautiful view many amazing food and overall a really great time but is raining day .Convenient price and very clean !This place really did a solid job keeping us safe but also allowing feel and while at your outdoor table theres no need for a mask . While you walk around the establishment they do ask you to put your mask back on or are vaccinated but thats a totally fair and justified request to keep their staff and other customers safe.
I find difficulty writing any review that’s less than 5 stars. But my meal here was lackluster at best. Staff was attentive, accommodations superb. The food? Not so much. Appetizers were crab cake and wontons. Neither bad nor dazzling would be the best description. NY Strip was ordered medium, it was barely medium-rare. Petite Filet was dry and leathery. Neither steak was finished. And no valet parking at this price point is questionable..
My buddies and I had a terrific experience at Prime. I had never been here and it didnt disappoint. The space is beautiful and well appointed - bright and open - along with a great bar. Plus its on the water. We decided to eat at the bar and were very happy that we did. Our bartenders Kristin and Patrice were fantastic, fun and excellent professionals. They really enhanced our dining experience and we truly appreciated their customer service. The food was very good. The Blue Point Oysters and Buratta were fresh and delicious, the Crab Cake and Brussel Sprouts were full of flavor. My Petite Filet Mignon was cooked perfectly. The wine and spirits menu was great. This was not a cheap evening. As a matter of fact it was very expensive. With that said, I knew it going in and have no regrets. Once in a while it is nice to treat yourself to this kind of night out if you can. So I did.I would like to return during the warm weather so I can take advantage of the beautiful outside deck on the water.Overall a wonderful experience. I would give it 4.5 Stars 🌟
This is a great place to eat! My wife and I came here to celebrate my birthday. The ambience of being right on the water is pretty extraordinary. The food is excellent and the service is superb. The little clams are great. The shrimp and lobster wontons were fried just right. Watermelon salad is very delicious. Interesting mix of succulent large watermelon chunks, super thinly sliced sweet red onions, arugula and ricotta. The USDA prime NY Strip was a hit. I prefer medium well. It did not disappoint. Creme Brulee for desert was very good but could have been warmer. We can be a bit picky about dining preferences. We wanted to change tables. Staff was very accommodating. The kicker was toward the end of our dining, Jeremy, the maitre d comes over and thanks us for choosing to dine with PRIME and hands me a gift card dor the next time we come to PRIME. Drop the mike! Who does that??? Talk about high quality of service and attention to detail. PRIME gets it. PRIME - You get 6 stars! Give one to Jeremy.
Prime is definitely a special occasion spot. They have fresh seafood, quality meats, attentive service all in a warm and beautiful environment. The harbor views and fireplace add to the ambiance. You’ll pay for all of it, as it’s expensive at Prime. We started with the Sesame Potato Bread with Black Truffle Butter. It is delicious and decadent. My husband and I split the Baby Wedge Salad while my dad had the Caesar Salad. Both were fresh and delicious.I had the Shrimp & Lobster Wontons which were fantastic, the miso mustard brought the dish to another level. For my main, I had the Everything Crusted Montauk Tuna with Wasabi Mashed Potatoes and Creamed Spinach. All components were fresh and perfectly prepared. They also make a perfect martini and have blue cheese olives. It all made for a wonderful lunch. We will definitely return next time we’re in New York.
Fabulous fantastic experience! The food and drinks were phenomenal. Annie our bartender was on point with all her recommendations and we had amazing drinks. She made an incredible Seelbach and Manhattan. The decor was upscale and chic. Loved the experience and now Prime is my favorite restaurant.
The wagyu steak, gnocchi, and asparagus. I was speechless. Outstanding. The Wellington and Filet Mignon were excellent, too. My friends ordered them and we all took a bite of each persons plate but the wagyu was simply exceptional. Seriously, again, if youre a meat eater, and I mean a carnivore, do yourself a favor and let the chef cook it his way (medium rare to rare). This meat isnt your backyard BBQ. Go big or go home kinda flavor. One of the best meals Ive had, second only to Per Se.
Fantastic! Great service from the moment you walk in. And everything we tried on the menu from the drinks to the crab cakes all the way to the cheesecake dessert was amazing. We even got complimentary celebratory champagne because it was our anniversary. Definitely a little on the pricier side but so worth it especially if its a special occasion. The lodge area was very intimate and nice for a private conversation as well as the outdoor firepit area. Highly recommended!
Made reservations for a Saturday night before Christmas and the restaurant was decorated so nice. Staff greeted us and we were seated right away. Tables were spread out, food was delicious, drinks were strong and desserts were hard to choose as they all sounded delicious. Our waiter was excellent and was the service. The ambitious was very festive
Prime was a fantastic experience and we didnt deserve it. We made reservations for 8:45pm and didnt arrive until 9:30pm and yet we still felt like royalty. The food was literally made to utter perfection and the drinks were too. I am definitely going back. Beautiful interior exterior as well
Still a nearly impossible reservation to get during the warm parts of the year due to it being on the water, this place is not worth the fight. The food is good, but its nothing spectacular. The ambience is dated, save the natural surroundings. And its just annoying when at about $130 plus per person, having to pay for your table bread and for every soda, rather than free refills like you get all over the country. Yes, its true. Thats a bit shameful.
Beautiful location on the water loads of outdoor & indoor space as we dined inside. The starters main & desserts were absolutely gorgeous. Steak is absolutely mouth watering OMG. Prime is so worth a visit & now the weathers beautiful nice dinner & drinks outside a perfect end to a day. Enjoy
I am giving 5 stars for the food we had. Other than food I didn’t like anything about the restaurant. We made a reservation for our anniversary. They mentioned we can only be there for 90mins. We thought they’re following covid rules thoroughly and it will be a nice place with less people for a nice romantic dinner out. It was the total opposite! It was SO crowded!!! Nobody was there to take temperature and it was a VERY busy place. We wished we reserved a table outside with the view. I expected a good ambiance inside the restaurant but it was nothing special. We were seated next to a large group and I was very unhappy about that. I requested to be moved to a different table which they did. We were very concerned about covid plus it was our anniversary. I didn’t want to sit close to a bunch of strangers. Specially with delta variants around I felt extremely uncomfortable! It was very close actually. Definitely not the place for a romantic dinner out. We received complementary Champaign and that was it. I think we made the wrong decision to go there. The waiter assigned to us was very busy so we didn’t feel like he was that attentive. We were looking to order dessert but he was nowhere to be found so we left without having dessert. Food was great but it wasn’t the best experience for us.
I want to share my last two experiences here. One was last summer. Quite a few things went wrong with the meal that the manager comped our dinner and gave us $100 gift card. Extremely generous of him. We ate her this past Monday. View is very pretty, other than that lackluster. The food was mediocre at best. Prices for drinks and food very high. Again, the manager comped us for some of the food and drinks. Sorry to say, we will not be returning.
Easter Sunday Brunch was phenomenal! The food and the service was incredible. We ordered almost everything on the menu and did a family share with 8 people. I cannot say enough about the incredible service we received. We were seated in the bar section so our waiter also made our drinks. Doesnt get any better!Only possible negative was they did not have any high chairs for babies or toddlers.
Definitely in the running for the best steakhouse on Long Island! The Brussels sprouts were so surprisingly good. The Mac and cheese was amazing. I would definitely recommend skipping the prime fries. There was nothing prime about them. They were some of the worst fries I’ve had but I’m not going to judge this place on its fries, I just won’t get them again. We shared the porterhouse for my friends birthday and it was spectacular!
The food was delicious. However, the French fries and fried onion strings came to the table cold. The filet wellington pastry was burnt. The incorrect desserts was served to us. All this not our waiters fault. He was distracted by an unruly table. The floor manager(running around. Worried about something other than stepping in to help smooth out the problem) did little to help our waiter. At one point a patron walked in with his shirt not buttoned and his undershirt showing. Not worth the money!
This was my first time at this steak house and I had a porter house for 2 and the steak came in a cast iron plate but the steak was warm not hot. No sizzling or anything. The flavor was delicious nothing bad to say about it. The sides were whipped potatoes and creamy spinach was delicious very well made and they were also warm not hot and served in a cast iron as well. The best part was the creme brulee and that was on point. The server was great and very friendly. Next time I go back to this steak house i would definitely check that the food is hot.
This place is quite beautiful and ambient settings and modern decor. The settings are post covid and not fully packed but separated with enough distance. The steaks are very delicious especially the dry aged teller steak which was actually a tomahawk steak. Crab cakes are very good as well as appetizers were worth its charms. The beef wellington was interesting but I think probably not to everyones taste. Overall excellent service and great location just off the harbor.
We had a large party here 50+ for a wedding rehearsal dinner.Excellent service food and atmosphere nothing short of amazing.Entire staff was excellent and very attentive.Kayla was our contact person for the event and was a fantastic asset and helped us coordinate our event from Start to finish. Kayla was the bst.
I always have a great experience every time I come here. Friendly service, excellent food, great view. The crispy brussel sprouts were our favorite! Everything we ordered (burger, burrata, sushi, chicken, steak) was delicious. We were celebrating a birthday and the chocolate cake they brought out was phenomenal
Food and service was really good! They originally sat as one table but it started to leak a little water from the enclosing and they were able to move us in a timely manner. The steak and sides were delicious! The juniors chocolate cake was an excellent way to finish a delicious meal!
We would like to say that this was a very nice dining experience. We are from out of town and were not dressed for the occasion but we were not treated any differently.Out waiter Ionel M was great and the rest of the staff was very attentive.Wonderful view to along with a great meal.Thank youMr. Burton
Josue really knew how to treat my party of 6 like royalty! Such a great experience on Fathers Day. Beautiful view, amazing food and overall a really great time. As our first meal outside in months, this place really did a solid job keeping us safe but also (mostly) allowing us to forget the pandemic. Upscale feel for not-bad pricing, and while at your outdoor table theres no need for a mask but your server wears one. While you walk around the establishment they do ask you to put your mask back on but thats a totally fair and justified request to keep their staff and other customers safe.
Just came her on Sunday! I do admit I will have to do a second take at the restaurant and update my review pending my second visit, only due to the fact that we came during restaurant week and food may have been subpar, we have seen this happen at other steak houses, before ( which is counter intuitive, seeing as people who would be apprehensive to go to a restaurant and spend 400 dollars plus and have okay food, use restaurant week to try it out before paying full price, so it should be better than normal)However, first glance, the place is absolutely stunning! The hostess was super sweet from phone conversation to arrival. They do take a credit card to make a reservation, I believe its 25 dollars no show fee.We were seated immediately, right next to the fire place, ambiance was by far stunning. The waiter Jack, was really nice, efficient, sweet and knowledgeable on the menu and drinks. We ordered some of the signature drinks of the restaurant, a jalapeno margarita, a cucumber drink and a passion fruit drink. They were good, not amazing but good.We went with the Restaurant week menu: with the added wine pairingsOur party started with the coconut lobster bisque and the burrata, the table said the soup was perfection and the burrata was good, very very small but it was good. The bar back or not sure if they had a sommelier curate the pairings for the specials menu, because they did an amazing job with that. the bisques came with sauvignon blanc, which paired really well and the burrata came with pinot grigio from Italy. For main course , we had two of the New York Strip with the lobster butter and Skillet potatoes. May I add the potatoes were the star of the show. The strip was good and the lobster butter topping was a great value, but it was just okay, lacking the bare minimum of Salt and pepper. I had the Beef wellington, and was told it could only be done medium rare (Odd because I have it everywhere , Jimmy Hays, Quality Meats, Palmers, Harrys, Franks) and it doesnt have to be medium rare, but none the less, I like my steak that way, but others may not, when it arrived it was more rare then medium, but the puff pastry was good, but duxelles was very thinly layered and lacking in flavor, and the star of the show the filet was tender but had not one once of salt of pepper, and I dont even like that much salt and pepper a dash wouldve sufficed, but think they skip that step in the kitchen. The sauce around the Beef wellington was good, just needed a little more on the plate. The other entrée was the Salmon that was perfect. The wine pairings really stole the show, because they complemented the dishes very well. If the meat was just slightly seasoned it would have changed the experience. For dessert we had the Chocolate cake and the Cheesecake, Now let me tell you, I dreamed about the cheesecake all week long, it was so darn delectable. I think Im even considering coming back just to hang with Jack and eat the cheesecake.Jack did step out for a moment during out dinner, and our meal, and some bald gentlemen came to retrieve the check with such a bad demeanor, it was to say the least a put off. I get we werent his table but we paid the bill and signed the check, if he was going to be an arrogant arse, he couldve just let us be till we left to collect the signed tip receipt.I also found it peculiar that the maitred was not even interacting with the patrons, he simply ordered the staff, during our and a few other patrons meals, to do things with no regard to us. I found that to leave a bad taste, Im very accustomed to being pleasantly addressed and greeted at every steak house I go to.I do see the reviews are amazing, so I will give it one more try before completely writing this place off! Thanks again Jack, you were great, my party of four, enjoyed your service!
The Mojito was the worst ever… incorrectly made. The Ginger Ale was flavorless. The Sparkling Water was hardly sparkling. The lobster roll and the california king roll were not fresh and the sauces were pasty. A bit scary!Over the years, this was a great food location. What happened?
Great food and drinks in a vibrant environment on Huntington Bay. Lovely views and a hip crowd, including those arriving by boat. Nice sushi options as well as regular fare. Pairing menu is terrific. On a subsequent lunch visit, we made reservations for their advertised lunch special only to find it was unavailable that day. Nothing online nor on their website noted this. Lunch entrees ordered were served without any sides or bread- $38 for Bronzino and $44 for Petite Filet Mignon. Food and service were good but a bit pricey for lunch. We enjoyed their Anniversary 3- course special with generously sized portions and a nice selection of dishes. Tortellini is always enjoyable but our preference is to have it less toasted (it was almost burnt). Red roof roll and risotto were enjoyable, and their Striped Bass a terrific choice, but somewhat ruined by the completely charred broccolini. Chocolate sundaes were a lovely treat, with decadent ice cream, chocolate covered coffee balls-and no whipped cream-- which was a welcome change. Avoid their Americano coffee (similar to diner percolator coffee) and opt for espresso instead. JULIEN, OUR WAITOR WAS EXCELLENT!!
I was with my family in Prime restaurant at huntington March, 19th to celebrate fathers day, bad experience unfortunately... we asked to be seat on the terrace (where there was already 2 families having lunch) but they said it was not available, they didnt have high chair for my baby (2 years old), the waitress did not take note of our order so all different levels for cooking meat were wrong, they forgot some sides and were delayed on serving. The food was high quality but the service very very bad, specially if they want to be known as a restaurant to celebrate eventss like weddings...where do they seat childs? are the guest eating all late? I do not repeat, sorry.
The food here really is great, which is probably why they think they can get away with what is not great:1. Bad attitude from staff including management2. I ordered Yamazaki 12. They served me something else entirely. Im not sure if that was deliberate or what. I didnt make a stink because after prior negative interaction with mgmt. I was pretty sure theyd simply deny it and then itd be a whole argument that I wasnt looking to have.Again, the food is actually great, I cant lie. But when youre spending $200 to $250 a head and tipping large youd expect better service, attitudes, and pride in / knowlegde of spirits. You can great food at many places who actually take pride in everything.
Horrible service. The place seems like they are overwhelmed. They keep blaming every issue on how busy they are. Food doesn’t come out when it should. My wife’s app came out with dinner. People are seated before others that have earlier reservations. Service is a disaster. The hostesses up front have no clue what’s going on. The waitress was rude and pushy. Never coming back.
Great place!1st class from the water views and the boats are big. Very wealthy are here.Steaks are on point. Sides fantastic. And of course all else is great but its a world class steakhouse and thats why you goService also on point! Very professional. And knowable.Bar is world class, know how to make a drink. Plus its a rich place to playBeer a little less than okWine huge menu!So yes ill be back.

2022-05-31Took my wife here for her birthday today. What a lovely place and the food was outstanding. Every single dish was amazingly delicious. My wife was very pleased with this restaurant. They also gave her a free dessert and a gift card for her birthday. Highly recommend this lovely place and I want to thank the staff for making her birthday lunch spectacular!

2021-12-27Delicious food. I had the A5 Wagyu steak, lobster mac and cheese, and a wild mushroom risotto. The meal was an enlightening experience. I didnt realize steak could be so tender and delicious. They reccomend having it served cooked medium. Trust their judgment.

2022-01-01Honestly I’ve been to Prime a few times for events/cocktails but hadn’t ever ate here. The food was impeccable; the best part about the experience however, was the service & staff. Truly a great birthday experience and I’ll be back soon 🎁

2022-01-11Came here with my love for drinks Sunday evening. Hung out in the bar lounge area. Terrell was our bartender and he was extremely personable & pleasant! He made the best French 75 I’ve ever had with his recommendation of gin (Monkey 47). The interactions were short and sweet but it truly makes all the difference in the experience. We appreciated him. Definitely go sit by the fireplace. It’s the coziest spot.

2022-05-10I went for lunch and got the filet mignon with lobster side. The steak was underwhelming. The steak was a little burnt on the outside but the lobster was good. The spinach was a bit overcooked. Also the brussel sprouts were very burnt so could only eat a few bites. The service itself was friendly but not attentive. I had to ask for water and things a few times. Server only asked if the food was good right before I asked for the check. Bathrooms are clean.

2021-10-11Six stars review. My family came to Prime to celebrate my daughter & mom’s birthday. The service is top north and very accommodating. Food and drinks are superb as well. It’s nice to dine out at the beautiful waterfront porch. We will come back!

2022-06-25It was April in June at the Prime in Huntington. Let’s start from the end and work backwards. The Fig Primer was off the hook with the Chicken entree. Get the Figs as a side!Drinks: Jalapeño Margaritas - AWESOMELobster Roll done right with half dozen little necks. All Good. There was an enhancer: WHAT! I didn’t understand what the Brie Cheese fondue enhancer was so “stupid me” ordered it with the clams and Lobster Roll. It was good to dip for the French fries: Tasty. Ha Ha HaLastly I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the superior service by April. She was sweet and sassy. I enjoy a server that interacts just the way that April did. She was amazing and found the time to stop by early and often to put up with my nonsense. She probably said, “who is this guy with this the Orange short and matching Crocs?” However, she treated me with style and respect. There was nothing that could shake this fine young server. Thank you April for an awesome afternoon. You made our day!

2022-05-27Went here for our anniversary and everything was lovely! Our server Julian was very helpful and recommended some fabulous dishes! The orient point oysters were AMAZING and so were the caramelized figs! Definetly recommend the figs!!! I had the delmonico and my husband had the wellington, we both shared mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. Everything was great! With dinner I had the sangria which was pretty boozy and when we told them it was our anniversary they brought out prosecco which was lovely! For desert we shared a creme brulee
