Posting this only because I have received several requests from Prime to rate them. S here it goes. The unit was perfect, clean, well maintained, etc. I was generally happy with everything up and until the company raised the monthly rental by about 75% in ONE MONTH! Yes, the price crept up frequently over the couple years I used the space, but such a significant increase in one month was simply shocking and caused me to find an alternative solution.

My name is Jill Nevens I rent a unit from prime storage I was happy paying the 87.00 $ a month for a 10 by 10 to 143.00$ even though the unit was filthy the last renters didn’t clean it and neither did prime storage but what really mad me upset was going to pay my bill and it being 75% mark up on my bill no notice no letter no email no phone call no voicemail . I called and she promised the manager would call me back never did . My unit is due on the 27th it says it in my contract and now they want the money in the 26th I called today Friday the 24th of June at 4:20 something to see if they were open on Sunday not one phone call back not for up my unit price and not about my issue with Sunday ! I’m sick and need someone to drive me in my own car , my bank card has been locked and it would be nice to actually feel like the people I’m paying could call me . From the sounds of it not a lot of your customers are happy either . We pay your checks , . Corporate gets are money too so I want a phone call it’s in the voicemail and it’s in the notes from last month too . I would say thank you but I don’t mean it I wouldn’t give one star if it was a option . It’s common curtesy to mail a letter at least 2 months in advance but nothing , again no phone call , no email , no voicemail . I edited this because I spoke with the new manager Jana she’s a wonderful person . If you have a issue like mine and they raised your rent with no kind of notice call and ask for Jana if you rent from the colonie prime storage she will try to help you she’s very nice . Jana deserves a 5 star rating because now she has to answer for this mess with angry customers . She already deserves a raise .

Sign stated limited access to units due to remodeling but there was tape over locks for over 2 weeks and no work was being done. I contacted them to say I needed access so I could move my stuff out and said would contact me and never did. I ended up pulling the tape off and moved out since they couldnt contact me and I wasnt paying for another momth due to their lack of communication.

After a 2-3 months of using their service, they more than doubled the price of the storage unit we were using. On top of that, when I called to ask about the price rising, they told me to wait before paying as their supervisor was on vacation, but they ended up charging me a late fee of $20.

I Dont think ive ever written a review on google, but this place needs one. I rented from them from December 2020 to august 2021.I went to pick up my stuff and it was mice droppings EVERYWHERE! HUGE rodent problem. Instead of suggesting to refund me the money ive spent there ($60 per month) the lady at the desk suggested I clean it up. I looked at her like she lost her mind, then she grabs a broom to try to clean the unit. Fast forward I did not return my keys because I wanted to keep it open for legal purposes and they closed my account within the month without authorization, even though i still had some belongings in the unit. Their customer service sucks. I had to throw out several items because who wants clothes that mice have been playing in, no reimbursement. I would not recommend this place to anyone, they took no accountability for the destruction of my items. I lost about $1000 worth of property here, was only asking for the money I paid for the storage unit.

I hate giving anyone a bad review, but, in this case I think it’s necessary. First I’ll start off by saying the Staff (Crystal) was always very friendly, so my issue doesn’t lie there.The couple of problems…. First, they had a mouse problem…. Where as they remedied the issue, it took a while for that to happen. (Putting more traps down)Second, which really is my main complaint, is the fact shortly after I started storing stuff there, they increased my storage cost. (I believe it was November 2020) It was only like $20, so not a huge deal. This past August (2021) they stated they were increasing it again, this time to $182. They said it was due to the demand in units or the market… either way, increasing it 35%+ is just crazy.

Prime storage is very professional customer service is outstanding and the manager was very helpful with finding the best storage unit size for my property.Colonie NYUPDATE: I have to say while the staff is nice there are mice droppings all over my stuff and my things have been damaged due to this. Not a satisfied customer anymore. From four stars to one.

I dont understand why this place is consistently inconveniencing the customers by so called updating that is never really that notable but somehow takes access away so that if you wished to empty your facility or retrieve you cannot but not prorate your customers for the inconvenience. * Im sure there will be a payment increase on the cost with the update as well.

Crystal, the supervisor, was so nice and helpful. She took care of everything I needed help with. The units were clean. I got an indoor unit. Definitely recommend! Prices are fair! Looking forward to doing business with them again! 10/10!!

This has got to be the worst storage. After 2 yrs continuously my rate went from $152 - 282. In a matter of 10 months time.. I’m on disability so they’re not being realistic, claiming that they are competitive but they truely aren’t. So I need to choose having a roof over my head vs paying for this extreme overpriced room.. I found other facilities with my sz room for 130.- 176. A month
