Its a shame. After new management took over its been awful. Meatballs are different and pretty lame. Sauce is bland. Garlic knots are now very doughy and greasy, and I could go on and on. Its hard to believe that every phone or online order (every one-no exaggeration) is wrong in some way OR I show up and they never even put in the order. After six years of living up the road and having it be our favorite restaurant we are never going back. Also, I think its great that they employ so many young kids, but some responsibilities are just too important for them to handle. We gave them about ten chances but we are done. What a shame. Just go to Portofino in the village and youll be taken care of.
I had stopped by for a meeting but let me tell you the owner and his family are amazing people and when I was ready to eat I was blown away how good the food was. I live in the city and I expect my Italian food to be good but this restaurant really surpasses my expectations and for my birthday I want to have my dinner there. Their menu, wines and service spoiled me rotten. There prices are affordable and the restaurant has such a beautiful interior and exteriors. It’s like they brought Little Italy to Long Island!!!
Unfortunately the rating is due to the service alone. Our server, Erika, was unfriendly the moment we walked in the door. Im not sure if she was having a bad day, but it made our experience uncomfortable. There were 2 other servers as well and they were constantly checking on their tables and seeing if the customers wanted or needed anything. We didnt see her until we were done with the meal. Also on the website, there was an offer for 10% discount for 1st responders. I was told that it is not valid during happy hour. It would be nice put this on the website. This was not the way I wanted to celebrate an anniversary.
We had a fundraiser here last night. The owner John and his staff were amazing and incredibly attentive, and only outdone by the food!! The pizza, the pasta, the chicken parm sliders…..all excellent. And last week we ordered a few pies from here for Poker Night, and the Buffalo Chicken pie was amazing!!!Whether looking for an Italian night out, or just a few slices, you need to try Primo Piatto!!!
What has happened here? This is the second and last time I will order a Margarita Pizza to go. It was cold, crust was burnt, no basil. This was the pizza, the staff is rude, unfriendly, and most seem like they dont want to be there. Much better places in Huntington for Pizza- I wont even post about having Dinner inside anymore, that is very inconsistent.
This restaurant sits on a hill in a spacious corner and decorated nicely. Outside sits potted vegetables and herbs that smell delish. The service is impeccable with efficiency and warm smiles from every employee. The food is magnificent. Good fresh quality food. This place brings back good memories for me and my husband as we are both homegrown Italians. If you love to eat, it’s a must to come here. Four stars!!!!!! Pam and Rich Signorelli
I celebrated my 21st birthday at Primo and it was such a great experience! The owner Joseph was so attentive and truly cared about my guests and I having a great experience. The food was amazing and the service was great! One of my favorite places!! My guests were raving about the special cavatelli short ribs and pork chops!!! Will be back!!
Stay away from this place! This is the first time in our lifes myself and my wife had such horrible Italian food. Considering we do love Italian food and did try it around the world including Rome, Venice and Milan.Meatballs in this place are mostly consist of bread and Veal Parm Dinner was cooked on rancid MSG oil, leaving disgusting aftertaste in the mouth you could never forget! If you want good Italian food look somewhere else.
I am so upset to be writing this but I am hoping that it fosters improvement in some way because we love the location and were SO bummed after our first visit. We got there on a Saturday evening around 6 and it was still quiet so we were seated nicely outside. We waited about 10 minutes to be acknowledged and finally got some water....menus after that. There were a bunch of young waitstaff helping other tables, including people who were seated after us. Maybe there was training going on because sometimes there were two at one table, but none for us. After about 20 minutes, a waitress took our drink order and then after another ten minutes, a guy took our food order. Pizza bread was good so we held out.My boyfriend got spaghetti with meatballs which were very spongy and not hot. The sauce saved the day but he really only ate the pasta. I ordered the shaved brussels sprout salad with almonds and pecorino cheese. I was served a huge bowl of raw shredded brussels, a glob of goat cheese, and a handful of whole almond tossed onto the top. There were some pickled onions...or something, but there was no sense to this massive bowl of belly pain, and no finesse...No one came by during the whole meal to see if we wanted more wine...or anything. We asked the fourth person who waited on our table (dont know what happened to our original waitress...or the others that brought stuff) to bring the check and was asked if we wanted to take the bitten meatballs home. Not a good experience...food was NOT well prepared or thought out. Bummer - really wanted to like this place.
I cannot understand the generally positive reviews for this place after giving it multiple tries (convenient location). The food is decent, hence the star, but unremarkable and overpriced. I have yet to encounter a minimally courteous employee, most of whom have been dismissive at best. Ordering takeout is a hassle, as apparently none of the posted menus are accurate. It is intolerably loud during popular mealtimes. Would strongly suggest avoiding, as there are many similar spots nearby that far surpass the food, service, and ambiance. Very disappointed.
An Italian restaurant at its finest in Huntington, NY!Beautifully decorated, relaxed atmosphere, and when the weathers nice the tables extend outside in front. The menu is simple authentic Italian with a modern touch. Everything tastes like it was just made for you; each serving is more than you can eat at once. In particular try the fried zucchini appetizer! The waitress was always there when you needed her, and the manager, Zach, went around checking with every table to make sure all was on point.Advise reservations, especially on weekends. It gets busy.
Ordered lunch a few minutes after they opened, orders were ready in a very reasonable amount of time. Fried zucchini and mozz were great. Penne alla Vodka w grilled chicken was 2/5. Chicken was good, pasta was cooked well, sauce was the downfall. Maybe because it was still early.
My dinner experience would describe your restaurant as casa de incompetence. My wife and I came with two of our grandchildren, five and four years old. They were very well behaved but you would be smarter to move tables with young children that age. After 45 minutes, we asked that we could have the children’s meals as they were quite hungry and it seems silly to have them wait while my wife ate salad. Their meals came out, thank goodness. An hour later, I gave up and asked, in fact begged, our waitress to bring our two pastas to go. I’ve made orrechietti with broccoli Robe and sausage at home, if it can’t take me an hour and a half at home how can you possibly take a restaurant that long! You made a lovely night out with grandchildren frustrating and disappointing. Many things are Covid related and understandable to a civilized public, but a partially full restaurant With a complement of staff has no excuse. You just performed poorly
Delicious home-made old style Italian comfort foods with a marinara sauce reminiscent of nanas Sunday best!Very friendly and quick service with indoor and outdoor seating overlooking E. Main St.Plenty of off-street parking, great menu and a nice tasty slice of pretty much anything you like.
Went there for dinner. Baked Clams were terrible. Clams whole but flat as a dime (and the size of a dime). Breading burnt on top, soggy underneath. Not a good flavor. Orecchiette Baresi - pasta was overcooked, sausage was undercooked (pink tint) and minimal broccoli rabe (3 pieces). Roughy Annerito was not good. Garlic knots were excellent. Pizza looked great, should have tried that.

2022-05-31I’ve read great reviews hence was curious to come. I liked the vibe, pretty relaxed. Great drinks and wine menu. We ordered Burrata, Beets Salad and Filet Mignon. Salads were ok and filet mignon was not very tasty. Service was great. We had to come back to taste the pastas and pizza that perhaps is a better option here.

2022-06-20We just had our daughter’s wedding shower at Primo Piatto and could not be happier. All of our guests raved about the wonderful staff and fantastic food. The staff was polite and very attentive to everyone there. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone having an event or if you just want to go out for a meal. Great atmosphere also.

2022-07-02These people own intermezzo and this restaurant. We have been to intermezzo and had the worst service ever and bad food and been so disappointed, we vowed to never go there again. We went to Primo piatto not realizing that they also owned this restaurant. We sat and asked for a bottle of Pellegrino 10 minutes later a waiter came to our table and I asked again and he said yeah it’s coming and we ordered another drink another 10 minutes later still no drinks at all we walked out. This place doesn’t seem to be run by anybody there’s no manager headwaiter, nobody seems to care and the food is mediocre at best. So spend your money somewhere better.

2021-04-26This past weekend we had Primo Piatto cater for our sons first birthday party. Spoke to John who took the order and assured us that the food will arrive on time. The day of the event the food arrived on time and HOT! Everyone was raving about the food. One issue, wish we order a bigger tray of the eggplant rolitini, IT WAS DELICIOUS!!!!!

2021-12-19Im giving 3 stars. The pasta was great, but I asked I asked for a Pepperoni slice and they gave me this in a box without even heating it up. Good food, but poor service effort.

2022-05-15I have noticed a serious decline in the quality of the food that is being served. They have all these young people in the kitchen that don’t know what they’re doing. I called to share my feedback and the manager ended the call because he didn’t like what I was telling him. What a shame!
