My favorite pizza in the city! The best is their famous pepperoni squares. Just moved back to the city a few weeks ago and Prince St pizza was one of my first stops. I recommend going during lunch on a weekday so you don’t have to wait as long since usually on the weekends you will have to wait in a line.
Who doesn’t love pizza in NY?Highlights of the menu:1. Cheese pizza2. Veggie pizzaThere are so many pizza places in New York to try but Prince Pizza is a must! They have been here longgg time and have taken photos with a lot of celebrities. The photos are hang all over the wall. Amazing!!
The pizza was indeed delicious but it was cold. My wife took hers back to get it warmed up and when she got it back, it has another slice with it with a bit out of it. Apparently somebody else had asked to reheat theirs and they combined it with ours. Reason for 3 stars… overhyped, mediocre customer service, overpriced but a good tasting slice
My husband and I finally took our bucket list trip to New York and ate at so many different places. Prince St Pizza was one that just stood out to me. Not sure if it was just the whole experience of us going from one side of Manhattan to the other just for a pizza? But this isn’t just any pizza! These pepperonis are the best I’ve ever had. They have a little spice to them that’s just so good! We ordered a whole pizza just for the two of us but honestly just with a slice or two, we would have been fine. Our eyes were much bigger than our stomachs that night so we took the rest of the pizza with us back to the hotel and had it for a midnight snack lol. This place was definitely worth the hype & we can’t wait to back again one day
Pretty decent pizza. Nothing exceptional in NYC. This is more a touristy place or for very young people for their Instagram feed. There is no bathroom or real seating area. There are a few chairs right outside. The lines moves pretty quickly, you should plan to be in the line for about 20 min on a weekend. The closest park is about 12 min walk in Chinatown if you prefer to sit in a green area and eat.Get the pepperoni or margarita which are the best ones. The vegetable slice is pretty average, would not recommend it. Make sure you ask for the slice to be heated.
The hype is worth it but i dont know if i would want to wait in line for thirty minutes. thankfully its winter so there wasnt a line and it helped me thoroughly enjoy the slice more. fluffy. crunchy. wel baked. the vodka slice has a well balanced flavor profile and would def get that one again. also the pepperoni is top notch def the best pepperoni slice in the city. i spent 16 bucks though in two slices water and a tip. feel like they could make the slices a little bigger considering inflation might make it a 7 dollar slice in two years
I live in the neighborhood but didn’t get a chance to try Prince until recently because I walked by and there was no line.Prince St. Pizza is a great slice shop, especially for their signature pepperoni square. However, the 3 stars comes from the value for your money and the amount of time you’ll inevitably spend waiting in line (even though it moves pretty quick). My single square slice costed a little over $7 and while it was delicious, I didn’t quite understand the hype around prince st. I think you can get just as good of a slice at Upside on the next block, for cheaper and no wait. All this to say, if you haven’t been, you might as well go so that you can say you’ve been, but it’s truly not the end of the world if you decide to skip the line and go somewhere else.
I really wanted to try this place because of its popularity and ratings, and I have to say that they are completely unjustified in my opinion. Definitely not worthy the long wait in line and the price ($6 for a slice). Maybe because I am Italian I am very strict when judging pizza and I have high standards, but the slice itself (the squared pepperoni pizza) was nothing special. Better (and italian) pizza can be found elsewhere.
My first attempt to visit this pizza place was in Sept 2021, but it was so packed that I walked past it. Fast forward to Jan 2022, I finally visited this place with no queue and with such high expectation. IMHO, the pizza wasnt too bad, but it deffo wasnt the best Ive had. Also, we found the people who served us on the counter (especially this one female staff) were so rude, unfriendly and seemed disinterested. The female staff got my order wrong (I wanted a cheese pizza, but got a spicy vodka instead), but we couldnt be bothered anymore since we didnt want to deal with such service. On the side note, after talking to a friend yesterday, he also mentioned the same thing as what I wrote here. You probably wont even care about this, but would I come back again? Certainly not.
I have been on a pizza tour around NYC and Im trying to come up with a ranking for all the famous ones. Although I loved Prince st. pepperoni slice, I did think the crust was a little thick. The spicy sauce was okay but the margarita was really good. The Brooklyn pizzerias are winning this war imo.
We ordered prince street pizza during a trip to the city today and got a peperoni pizza and a vodka pizza. Both were good but the vodka pizza was much spicier than I expected it to be! I found it to be more spicy than the peperoni pizza loaded with spicy peperoni!I would recommend this to anyone who prefers Sicilian style pizzas and really likes peperoni! The vodka pizza is worth a try as well, and I think I personally preferred it to the peperoni.
Another popular place that stopped caring about their product because they’ll make their sales regardless. They served a completely burnt pizza I couldn’t eat. I wasn’t about to wait in the 20 minute line for another. This has been happening to a few places that have gotten this popular. You’d think they’d have the resources to be able to throw out a burnt pizza, but I guess not.
I came here expecting the pizza to be absolutely amazing since it’s what everyone raves about—I wasn’t disappointed. Be prepared to wait in line for anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes (or more). But, the pizza is fantastic and definitely lives up to the hype. I’m glad I chose to stop here.
Instant classic. Best late night food. Get the pepperoni square slices and ask for extra crispy. You will not be disappointed. Although their sister restaurant Village Square Pizza is still better in my book, they are hard to beat as the late night spot. Dont get scared away by the lines, it moves quick!
My NY friends all couldn’t stop talking about Prince Pizza pepperoni. I was skeptical since I’ve been disappointed with other pizza recommendations and I’m personally more a sausage pizza guy. But man, this was probably one of the best pizza’s I’ve had. The pepperoni had a burst of flavour and a nice spice to it. The fresh mozzarella on the pizza added a nice subtle taste. It’s been 10 hours since I took my first bite and I still can’t stop thinking about it.
The pizza is average! TBH I havent had any pizza in NYC but definitely in comparison to pizzas around the world this is mediocre. Not worth the wait, the attitude and smirks from staff.I ordered pepperoni and margarita then asked the guy to just pick the 3rd one for me and he said margarita lol wake up dude!2 stars because theres a wait -0.2, service is sht -2 Im Im a believer of you pay for what you get and here Im paying to get attitude so Id recommend you stay away from it if you any bad attitude would ruin your or your partners mood. Then pizza is mediocre -1, pepperoni crust is too thick taste like eating pepperoni on Turkish bread.
Doing the NYC pizza tour, so had to stop in to this iconic shop. Was nice to be able to get slices instead of an entire pie. Known for the pepperoni, so I got the square slice and a traditional slice. The traditional slice was awesome, great crisp and the pepperoni was as advertised. The sauce is a bit sweeter than I usually get. The square looked amazing, had great char on sides and loaded with pepperoni, but they didn’t warm it up and it tasted like it had sat around a while. Was more doughy than crunchy. Was still an overall good slice, but didn’t have the crisp and crunch on the crust that I had expected. Was busy and there’s a lot going on there, but still highly recommend. Forget chains, and get out and support your local businesses!
While they sell both round and square pizza by the slice (I tried both), I recommend the square pepperoni. Both are good, but the square pepperoni is just so unique and flavorful. Super deep, rich porky flavor, the pepperoni and thick and crispy. If youre in the area try it out!
Excellent, excellent pizza. Great slice of cupped pepperoni Sicilian slice. This place has to be tried to be believed. Everytime Im in the city I must have a slice. 10/10 pizza. If you want an New York experience worth your money, this is one of many places in New York and Long Island to try. But if youre in the lower Manhattan area, start here.
The Spicy Spring slice is absolutely incredible. The edges are crispy, there is a good bit of sauce, and there is a ton of pepperoni. This is definitely one of the best slices in the area if you don’t mind the surly woman behind the cash register—don’t expect to make a friend!
The pepperoni pizza gets 5 stars. The staff behind the counter can improve on customer service but I don’t expect much for a pizza joint. Ate late one evening and there wasn’t a line. It was such a delicious first bite. I think it has ruined all pizza for me. We ate our slice right outside. There are just 3 tables outside.
Nice pizza place and it has wall full of celebs trying out their pizzas and recommending it but i found okay since you need to wait for it in long line and the serving people are rude not friendly.. it was weird but pizza was nice juicy… we tried spicy sauce and it was okay..,
Went this past Saturday for the first time. The line was out the door, even on one of the worst days weather wise. We ate standing up outside of the restaurant because all the tables for the outdoor seating were taken. The wait wasnt too long, definitely well worth it. The pepperoni was absolutely the best pizza I have ever had in my entire life.
First pizza place I went to in NYC this trip. Ive been wanting to go here for a couple of years now. I had high expectations and was not disappointed in the slightest. I had to drag my gluten free girlfriend here to watch me scarf down a couple slices. I got the pepperoni and the spicy vodka sauce. Both were amazing! Not a whole lot of seating available, but if you get lucky like I did you can snag a seat as others leave. You should definitely stop by here if you like pizza and get the chance to.
My order of pepperoni slices had pepperoni only of half of the slices, vodka slice dough was raw in some sections. See photosTasted good in the spots were everything was done right.Long wait in line for such quality, just disappointing, will never order again.Go to artichoke basille’s instead, much better. If not - recommend ordering through the app for pickup, as line can be 30-50 minutes.
It’s no bad but a little overrated, don’t get me wrong it’s still good pizza ! But I’m just saying I have better pizza else where with less of a buzz, but I get it people come here because it’s famous and celebs come here, but still try their pepperoni pizza, very tasty.
The famous Spicy SpringThe crust is pillowy soft and airy, the sauce is light with just a little spicy kick, the cheese is flavorful and fresh, the pepperoni is perfectly cupped and greasy. I have a high standard for 5 stars, and so I just have to dock a point because I think its undercooked. There are a couple caveats: I tend to prefer pizza well-done, and we ordered delivery. But I think some extra oven time is especially warranted here. Its a thick, light, soft crust that begs to be crispier. The pepperoni arent as crunchy as Id like either, and theyre almost not tender enough, as far as pepperoni goes, for how numerous and thick they are. But thats being highly critical. This is excellent pizza that I would give an extra 10 minutes at 500° if I was at home with access to my oven, and might tell you it is one of the best pizzas Ive ever had.
Incredible tasty pizza. We did so many pizza nights during our trip in NYC and this one was probably one of the best. The tiny crust was incredible, but the pepperoni focaccia style was heaven. Took just 1 star out because of the queue and the limited seats. Great experience and overall a master place to go !
Ehmmmm, definitely not worth the hype. A lot of people recommend this place online but there are a few problems. 1. The pizza is so fat, the oil drips off the pizza and is soft. 2. You only taste the cheese and the pepperoni. 3. All the napkins were empty. And like i said by 1, your hands are dirty as ..... 4. They are only there to make money because you cant even ask how it works....fast fast fast. No time to waste. In Europe it tastes a lot better. Definitely not worth the money.
I am born and raised Brooklyn amd Queens pizza fanatic. This place is great. Small. Need to eat outside. They wont let you eat inside, at least when there was a line this was after the mask mandate was lifted . I might like this pizza better than Joes. Liked the sauce
This was probably the best pizza I have had in a while. Ive tried multiple pizza places around NYC, but nothing beats the square slices at Prince St. We got the pepperoni square slice and the vodka slice. My personal favorite was the square slice, which had a perfectly crispy crust, but extremely soft bread with a really tangy sauce. The vodka slice is a little milder, but was a great way to finish off the meal. The shop is small, but the line moved decently fast even though there was a line out the door. They have some outdoor seating or you can stand. Definitely give this place a try!
Overall they have good pizza. I tried a pepperoni square and a regular cheese. The pepperoni square was very good with good tasting sauce and lots of pepperoni. There was not much cheese. The regular cheese was disappointing. The sauce was bland compare to the square. It was OK but I would not travel for a cheese slice. I have had much better in NYC.
Prince Street Pizza should be in everyone’s top 5 pizza. It might not be everyone’s #1 pizza, but it will be in the top 5.Their square slice Spicy Spring slice is a fan favorite, with spicy pepperoni slices, greasy but satisfying cheese, and crispy crust. Also worth noting that this is one of my favorite left over pizzas. Can’t quite finish that second/third slice? No problem! Just leave it for the morning and you’ll be sitting pretty!
Was the pizza good? YesWas it worth taking a train to cause it has high ratings? may be NOT.If you are around, give it a go, but dont come here just for this. Also, remember to ask for reheating the slices if you plan to eat it right away. If you dont, the store assumes you are taking it home.
They are famous for a reason. The spicy spring is their claim to fame, with curled crispy pepperoni in each bite and a surprisingly light dough (considering the thickness of the square slice). Their regular slice is actually quite good as well. The place can be super busy, especially at night time. You might want to avoid it if you don’t like annoying drunk gentrifiers and college kids. The service isn’t the friendliest but they are busy and keep the line moving. I’ll always recommend this shop to people who want the best square slice in Manhattan!
This place has possibly my favorite slice in the city! I absolutely love every aspect of their square pepperoni slice! The crush is crispy on the exterior but cloud-like on the inside! The sauce is bright and tangy with a hint of heat! The cheese is fresh and delicious and the pepperonis.. the pepperonis! They definitely aren’t shy with the pepperoni! They use the type that cup up as it bakes leaving a delicious hot tub of pepperoni grease inside! This is my definition of a perfect slice! The wait can be quite long at times but it’s definitely worth the wait! There isn’t anywhere to eat inside but the last time I was there they had some temporary seats set up outside. Not sure if those will stay after things return to normal so be prepared to eat while standing outside. Absolutely love this place!
Rude server. Came here from Austin on 8/8 around 11am because my friend was excited to try this place. We said that each member of our party is ordering 1 slice (2 total) and he hands us one. Im standing there and he asks what I want. I said 1 more slice and he shakes his head laughing as if Im causing more work for him. As Im standing there waiting to pay, he starts talking to the next customer behind me. I dont know if hes factored in the price for two charged to my friend, and hes not waiting for me at the register as I literally have both cash and card out.I assume were all set if hes not bothering to take my payment so I start to heading to the outdoor seating after standing there at the register for a minute with my slice in hand. He yells at me saying that I need to pay. I literally told him I was waiting for him and he treats me like some kind of thief.Pizza was decent but service is rude and not worth it.
I will always support this place. Aside from the pizza still being the BEST around, the owner Frank is a genuine, thoughtful and all around awesome guy!! During the pandemic my partner and I needed some help 😌 Frank offered the help and never asked for anything in return. So PSP and the family will always have a place in my heart and stomach!!!
I don’t know what people go for at this place. I have had much better pizzas elsewhere. We tried vegetarian options only, so reviews are based on that. First of all there was really long queue. Secondly, the taste was also too blend. I would definitely NOT recommend for vegetarians!
Its a miracle the oven door hasnt come off its hinges at this classic slice joint, its brick walls hungs with shots of B-list celebrity fans. Ditch the average cheese slice for the exceptional square varieties. The sauce, mozzarella and ricotta are made in-house and while the queues can get long, they usually move fast.
[Food wise] The bottom of my margarita slice was pretty burned. The top of my pepperoni pizza was slightly burned and the slice is way too thick for me.[Service] First time here and ordering was an awful experience. Bad customer service! I couldn’t hear the guy when he said something after I ordered. He laughed at me and left after I asked him to repeat. In confusion, I waited while people behind me kept on getting handed pizzas instantly, so probs he said one of my pizzas were not ready. Who knows 🤷🏻♀️[Seating] No dine in, which is understandable since they are very small. They do provide outdoor tables, but they were left unattended in many ways. Most importantly, it’s not a safe place, so beware if you want to eat on the spot. I’d suggest find a public seating close by.—I did hear about it from a friend and he had a good experience. Either I hit the jackpot, today was a bad day for them, or their quality has declined. I personally would avoid and go to other pizza place…Just want to share my experience and hope you’ll have a good one if you do come here!
As a first-time NYC visitor, I took it on myself to visit as many recommended pizza joints that my stomach (and belt) could handle.Out of 9 places, this was tied for my favorite. I came here a few times in fact, because it was so good. While the employee behind the counter was a bit unhelpful when I had a question about the slices, the food was more than worth the mediocre treatment of customers. To be fair, they have long enough lines that I suppose they dont really need to be that polite to keep the lights on.
A friend of mine recommended me this pizza place because it gave him a phenomenal experience with great authentic pizza, however I went here last week for my first time and I can say that the pizza is phenomenal, actually better than all the other places I went to, but I have to say that my experience was bad. When I received my nice looking flavor catching pizza I was eating it and letting it melt in my mouth however a worker there kicked me out for eating inside while there were other people inside ordering and eating as well. I was dissatisfied so I naturally left the store. I came back today when there was barely anyone inside and room to stand near the counter and eat, once again this worker kicked me out. I will not come back to this place or recommend friends until I receive a apology
Utterly horrible experience. This place was praised by friends and colleagues for best in NYC. So excited to try, and was served cold pizza without any warming up. Bad service from start to end, by a guy wearing brown cap. Told him bout the cold pizza and he said impossible with an attitude. Looking on, he served others normally; but whoever who went to ask more about the flavours or names of different pizza, his face changed entirely. Go for the place if u can make do with the bad service.
Pizza is Good and All, but it’s a bit too pricey. But by far the worst customer service this pizza shop has. The lady with the blonde hair is very rude and disrespectful. As I was ready to place my order, because the guy called next, she came out disrespectful and said “Ma’am you need to stay in the line.” And I told her but the guy said next. But she continued to be rude. After I got my slice I decided to eat in since the outdoor area was occupied and the same lady came out rude and kicked me and everyone else who were eating in out. She said it was a not a space for eating in that it had to be to go only. Now I don’t know what’s her issue, but she has bad customer service, I definitely will not be returning until she gets fired. But if y’all want better customer service and cheaper pizza go somewhere else honestly.
Have had this place on my list for awhile so I was excited to go when I was finally in the area and well…..it wasn’t all that. Yes the slices (grandma) are big and chock full of pepperoni so you can fill up on 1 slice ($5.50 incl tax if paying cash). But unfortunately the pie is too spicy so that it overpowers the flavors of the pie. Crust is nice and crispy on the bottom but if you’re not used to the more breast style, it can be more doughy than you’re used to. No line when I went around 6pm on a weeknight so at least I didn’t have to endure that.
This place just isn’t what it used to be. After the owners got cancelled for being racist, management changed and the quality of the prince street slice has gone down significantly.I used to eat here once a week in 2019 and stopped because I moved out of NYC. I came here multiple times in 2021 and the pizza is just not the same. The pepperoni slices are burnt, the bottom of the slice is slightly soggy and the sauce doesn’t provide the same heat it used to. I ate here multiple times in 2021 across multiple trips to NYC because I thought it was a one off instance. That’s not the case unfortunately and the pizza has gone downhill and it’s really disappointing because this used to be my fav pizza joint.
Super disappointed I’ve always heard raving reviews about this so I decided to check it out. margherita and Sicilian were too chewy and flavorless. It’s best described as eating pizza that tastes like nothing. I’d like to give them another chance because they might have been really busy but I could’ve spent my money at a dollar pizzeria and gotten better quality
On a cold February day in soho, this place slaps. When your frigid hands open the box to a steamy couple of pepperoni slices, you have hope in the world once again. The pizza itself is nothing that you can’t find elsewhere. The experience is something special, but the pizza is comparable to a Brooklyn slice
Loveeee prince st; probably my fav pizza spot to go when Im by the area! Their square pepperoni pizza is just so good, youll want to order more. It is pretty oily and it can look overwhelming so maybe not for you if you hate oily food. Havent really tried their other pizza because I kept getting their pepperoni. Cant help it though!
Touristy and overrated. $5 for that slice is a bit too much Id say. Its certainly a good NYC slice, but not worth the long line and price. One could say its a clout religion of some sort.In the weekends it gets overly crowded with the young ones trying the pizza as they Instagram their slices just to say theyve been there. You can definitely avoid that in the morning or mid afternoon.
No line at 10am Sunday morning 🤪 super nice owner/staff. Made with fresh ingredients. I walked this back to the apt to eat so it was hot, but I definitely appreciation the hype. Would I wait 1-2 hours for it, prob not but at least I can say I’ve had it. 🤤 must order their signature pepperoni slice and spicy vodka sauce slice!
Overrated and staff are rude. When you get to the counter the pizza is on display.... i am not sure why because if you spend any time and I mean even a split second trying to make a decision you get yelled at. The pizza is just ok, Honestly very over hyped. Do your research and dont just read the good reviews. Ps. What we found is if you read the 1 and 2 star reviews of most places they are a more accurate reflection of the quality and experience at most places. Try for yourself and come back and give a thumbs up if you find this to be true.
At the recommendation of Noah Syndergaard, Thor, for the NYC Mets, my girlfriend nicely suggested that we give it a try. Me being a huge fan of pizza and this being one I dont remember having, several late nights in the area, I played food delivery man and picked up a pie, yes, its called a pie regardless of the shape, and we devoured this delicious creation. Noah knows his sh**!!!
Both the regular pies and square pies were too thick and too doughy. Vodka sauce and fra diavola sauce were decent. Plain tomato sauce and mozzarella used were both kind of bland. Would not recommend Prince Street if youre looking for New York style pizza that rivals the best Apizza from New Haven.
I was doing a job next door to this pizza spot, and im seeing a big line and a crowd of people enjoying pizza from here, so you know me, im like lets see what all the hype is about, I ordered a regular slice and a spicy vodka sauce Sicilian slice, the regular slice was just that…REGULAR… i was like whaat, people are going crazy over this? Please! The spicy vodka was ok I actually enjoyed that one but not like omg its soooo good enjoyable, but the staff is friendly and cool
Was watching a YouTube video recently with a ton of people waiting on line to order and decided to try their spicy pepperoni along with a vodka sicilian slice. That slice was overflowing with pepperoni and had a really nice crunch after biting down on a couple of pepperonis. The vodka sicilian wasnt bad, but the spicy pepperoni was the best. Next time, going to grab an entire pie!
Mediocre pizza. I ordered two slices of plain cheese, one of them was all burnt and way too crunchy (because too burnt), and the other one was half good so I got to actually taste the goodness of their cheese for like 25 seconds, until the rest of it was also burnt. Tbh I’m pretty sure I deserve my money back but whatever.
Im always looking for the best pizza in NYC and this was our attempt on our most recent trip.Based on the line, its obviously very popular. We probably waited for 45 minutes outside. We definitely had to get their most popular slice: the spicy spring (Sicilian square pepperoni) and we decided to get a slice of the fancy spring (NY style margherita) as well.I really enjoyed the pepperoni Sicilian slice. The crust was fantastic. The sauce was a little spicy. The pepperoni was perfect. I did wish it were a little cheesier. On the other hand, I did not like the margherita slice. The crust was very crunchy and tasted like cardboard. It was hard to enjoy the pizza with bad crust.Overall, the Sicilian slice was good, but Im not sure I would wait in line again for it.
It is definitely one of the great pizza in town.We waited about 20 mins to get 2 slices pizza. I believe they can be a bit more efficient with order and cashiers.Pizza was fresh and crust was good.Pepperoni was spicy and I liked it. It’s oily but it’s good oily. The staff can be more friendly and helpful.
I had high expectations for this pizza since there are people always waiting in line. Unfortunately, it didnt live to up the hype. They really sacrifice quality over quantity. Since it is a small place and a ton of people go, they rush everything to get the pizzas out quick but the end result is bad. Poor customer service, burnt pizzas on display and when they heat up your pizza for you to eat, it is not even warm. There is also zero social distancing. Bad experience overall.
I work in the neighborhood but never got a chance to try it. I even heard all the great reviews from my friends and colleagues but I am not a fan of pizza. My friend brought us a box of their signature Spicy Spring Pie (square cups peperoni pie) and we were so impressed. The pizza was amazingly delicious, the crust was soft & well-baked and the pepperoni was flavorful.
Pizza is good but some of the time - a hit or miss and not consistent. Def not the best in NY, but the pepperoni is a favorite for sure for those that like the topping. Unfortunately, the staff is rude, cant communicate well and is completely useless. I guess not that it matters since its really a take out joint.
This pizza joint is the real deal! All the hype I read in the reviews are all concrete, howeverrrr dont take my word for it. Youll have to experience the great taste for yourself. My only recommendation is get there early. When I arrived around 2pm there was a line. Extremely great square slice with pepperoni however as far as overall taste goes, Di Faras Pizzeria located in Brooklyn is still my top notch place for pizza.
Good but nothing spectacular. The spicy spring is a square slice with somewhat fluffy crust with a good sauce and an ample amount of pepps. I couldnt taste the cheese AT ALL. Overall, worth trying but ehhh Ill be ok if I never have it again. Btw princes was the 1st stop after 2.5hr trip to NYC.
Overhyped. Overpriced. Line out the door. Still really good pizza. Nothing groundbreaking though - plenty of places have similar quality. Worth trying but I won’t be going back anytime soon. $5 a slice is robbery. Line didn’t move that quick either. Drinks were expensive as well. Lots of other options that stand up just as well
Very good stop for a pepperoni square slice. Be prepared to wait in line for about 30 minutes no matter what time of day. If you can, skip the line and order a full pie. Very good but not always worth the wait in line. Try Village square pizza in East Village. Similar slice, no line.
Easily one of the best pizza places in the city. In my opinion, the best thing to get here is the pepperoni Sicilian. They don’t skimp on the pepperoni so it’s a really flavorful slice. The thing that makes this slice so good/unique is the sauce that they use. It’s somewhat spicy which I’d say is pretty unusual for a piece of pizza. The only drawbacks to this place are its size and its popularity when it’s cold out. There’s usually a line that leads outside, and there usually isn’t space to eat indoors, so during the cold months you might lose feeling in your fingers when you eat here. Regardless, at some point you have to try Prince Street Pizza to get the full NYC experience.
Pizza is legendary, without a question. Been coming here for the past few years. If I want to be critical I’d say the crust is a bit too soggy/wet for my liking (prefer the crispier crusts of Detroit Style pizza) and it can sometimes be a little to sweet, especially when it’s not hot out the oven. Otherwise the pizza is phenomenal.
The pepperoni square slice wasn’t bad, but not as mind blowing as the hype would lead you to believe. Pepperoni cups were nice though, crisp edges and thick enough to have a bite to it. I actually liked the margherita slice more. Prefer thin crust, and the mozza and bright tomato sauce made it taste really fresh. We finished that slice faster than the square cut Sicilian pepperoni.Line was out the door but it moves quick. Standing room only to eat and it’s crowded. Ppl are sitting on the tree railings, store fronts, apartment steps just to eat.
There are so many sites that want to tell you where the best pizza in New York is. Good luck sorting through it. Fact is, there’s a lot of good pizza here. At Prince Street, there’s usually a line- that should tell you something. We stopped in for a slice, and boy is it terrific. Even a long line here will move fast. No seats, so stand at an inside counter or find somewhere else to eat.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 🌟
It was good. I waited all morning standing outside for them to open, and even though they opened 45 minutes late, I still waited. The pizza was very good. There isnt really a place to sit down and eat. But there are shelves on the side to stand and eat. The pepperoni cups were great and a new experience for me. The guy working there looked like he didnt really enjoy being there though.
Ordered a pepperoni slice to go. Staff seemed disinterested and couldn’t care less. Pizza was “ok”, not amazing.Don’t understand the hype. If the pizza was great I’d tolerate the attitude but it’s NYC and you have better options with less rude staff. Can definitely tell there are some fake 5 star reviews on here and Yelp. These guys definitely paid PR firm to clean up their mess of customer service.
Maybe I’m not a pizza connoisseur (but I do eat out a lot in general and I’ve been told by cooking professionals that I have a good palate because i could usually guess what herbs, spices, usual ingredients etc are in dishes even when they’re not common), I thought the pepperoni square was fine. It was fine. Not bad at all, but nothing super amazing. The line was long but went fast so the line wasn’t an issue. The issue was the attitude of the staff. Kudos to the tourists that already got their pizza and were eating on the sidewalk that told us (we live in ny) that there are two lines: one for ordering and the longer one for waiting to pick up your order. The signage isn’t obvious. And when we went to the ordering line, there was no one else in line. We were right in front of the counter (the people to our right are people picking up their orders) and we waited for a while - kept trying to make eye contact with the staff but they just ignored us. In the end I decided to be “rude” and said “excuse me, are you still taking orders or are you closed?” Because I genuinely thought they maybe ran out of pizza and weren’t taking more orders. And the guy handed us a number 🤦🏻♀️ so yeah, when you go there, go stand in the left line to order, and if you’re not served, yell at them
Walked in and ordered spicy square plain. First of all, they forget my order. Then when o get it, the pizza is still cold in some places, while everyone else’s is steaming hot. I ask the guy to reheat it and still, lukewarm. The pizza could have been amazing, cause even lukewarm it was good. The place is designed well ascetically though you have to stand to eat. 6.5 out of 10. Gave it a 3 for missed potential, could have been one of my few fives. Pizza even looked amazing and the sauce was very nice. Have to try again sometime.
Thick crust with tons of pepperoni, this pizza was everything delicious and worth the wait in line. The crispy crust into the soft center made every bite phenomenal. Although the pizza was super oily (probably because of all the pepperoni), it truly hit the spot. While one slice was plenty, I would have totally gone for a second. Napkins are not optional. You will need them.
I rarely order pepperoni pizza, but I ordered it this time because it was recommended. Wow... I loved it! Pepperoni was not salty, the sauce was right on, the amount of cheese was just enough, and the dough was thick, but not too heavy. I would definitely come back here again. Its one of the best pizza places Ive been to in NYC!
Legendary. Been really getting into square slices and this might be the best one. Nice and crunchy on the outside but the right amount of airiness and sponginess for the dough. The sauce is balanced well and those pepperoni slices are amazing. Dont be alarmed by the grease, its high quality olive oil that the pepperoni cups pick up. Some prefer the cheese slice because it has more of that diavolo sauce but I have to go with pepperoni. Think their regular NY slices are good too but you have to try their squares. Lines not bad before 1 PM on the weekends.
Look for the line and youll have found them. NY knows how to do pizza so what makes Prince any different from the rest of them?So much pepperoni, like take all the pepperoni youd get on a whole pizza somewhere else and then shove it all onto one slice here. Also super fresh ingredients. Oh, also all for a $5 slice.Whether you get a slice or a whole pie, its a fun spot to swing into. Eat at their very small counter or take it to go, and make sure to look at all the pics on the walls of all celebrities who have also stopped by.
This place is by far the best pizza in NYC! Theres always a line but the pizza is worth the wait. I recommend getting the square pepperoni slice which coincidentally is their best dish! Add this as a stop on your places to eat list and youll be back! A+ staff and service even when their dishing out slices and calling out NEXT!
Most likely you’ll encounter a long cue to get a slice. We waited around 20min but it was absolutely worth it! The the service is quick and the pizza extremely tasty. It’s a must try if you’re in the area. There are limited standing tables inside, but most take it in a box and eat it outside. Go try it!
Good pizza when you can get it and if youre ordering delivery, be prepared for their delivery people to beg and lie to get more tip(the pie i order is $36.50 but with delivery fee and tip it comes out to about $50). best way to get it is to get on line with the mooks because if you order delivery you might experience what i am talking about on line 1... thursday i tried to order for pickup and was told it would take 20mins, i get there 25mins after and i tell them i have an order for pickup, they ask my name and what i ordered so i tell them... after waiting five mins i ask them whats up? again they ask my name and order so i tell them again only to be told theres nothing. good pizza but not so much better than the plethora of pizza joints i normally go to without putting up with trash workers.
Once you go prince street you cant go back! This place has by far the best New York pizza imaginable. Tons of options- the one that really stood out to was the Neapolitan cheese slice with vodka sauce. The flavor profile was out of this world. My biggest regret was not getting more. Its a little bit more expensive than Joes and other 99 cent places but its totally worth it. Id 100% recommend prince st to anyone.
Excellent spicy sicilian slice (must try). The plain Sicilian is also good but I was underwelmed by the overly sweet and unbalanced margarita slice.Small and very cramped but workable and somehow add rather the subtracts to the ambiance. Service is quick and friendly but be prepared to wait in a line for a good 5-15 mins before you get to the cashier. The only issue I have is that the cost is on the right side at approx $5.00 a slice. Value is still okay.
Great pizza joint where you can get your fix. Quick service, friendly faces, where a popular joint has had its walls decorated with celebrities who went to get their pizza fix. The pepperoni slice is the one to go for: its more of a grandma-style, Sicilian, loaded with top-notch pepperoni slices. You can ask them to make it extra crispy if youd like--it isnt bad as is, but if youd like a little crisp, go for it!
As an avid pizza lover, I cannot recommend Prince St pizza enough. Their dough and sauce and everything about the pizza is delicious. At all hours of the day, theres a line out the door and for good reason! I promise its worth the wait!! Their pepperoni pizza is my favorite. Its like a cupped shaped and so delicious.
I love love LOVE prince pizza!! I am so happy that they also sell these bad boys by the slice! The pepperoni has a nice kick to it, meaning they’re a little spicy. I also like that they’re doughy!! The pizza shop itself is really small. If you’re lucky, you’ll find room inside to eat your slice of pizza. If not, you can do what I did - take it to go and wolf it down while waiting at the metro. They are a bit on the oily side, but hell, they’re good. Best part - they take credit cards!!!
Definitely a solid pizza slice but $4.50? Definitely other options that are better in NYC. If you’re in the area and don’t want to travel far, this is your place. But if you’re in the scenario where you want to find some truly amazing pizza, definitely other options out there. I’ll be back if I need a slice that’s good but definitely on the pricey side. I’d still recommend if you haven’t had a slice from here yet.

2022-06-12I havent been back here in a few years and have heard from friends that their quality was not as good as before. But I still wanted to try it again for myself and I have to disagree. It is still one of the best pepperoni pizza around! The dough itself was not exactly like before but the pepperoni cups were still on point. Which is why I still like it here. The type of pepperoni they use and the way they crisp just the top still makes this one of my favorite spots.Just in case youre thinking we like the pizza because we were hungry - We had dinner at 9pm and got Prince St Pizza at 1130pm (had a line but not a long line) and ate this as midnight snack. We still loved it.

2022-07-10Great slice of pizza! We arrived around 2pm and waited in line for about 30 minutes. It was worth it. I got a veggie slice but there are a couple other options. Really great staff running this place. It was fun to chat with the fellas that were handling the rush.

2022-02-01We were craving some pizzas and stumbled upon this place. We ordered a veggie and pepperoni slice. They were both so delicious! Absolutely loved the thick cut pepperoni. There is no indoor sitting and can’t stand there either but we didn’t mind. Will definitely be coming back!

2022-05-18Really enjoyed the square pepperoni pizza. The pepperoni were nicely crisp (which I LOVE), sauce was tasty, crust was sweet, soft and edible, and actually ate it! The base is a tad more thicker than I’d like and is a little greasy overall, but I would actually come again. There was a line out the door (could be because it was lunchtime), but it went quickly. Right now it’s more of a to-go order and street “dining” in their built standing counters related to the COVID pandemic.

2022-06-03Don’t even think about ordering any slice other than the pepperoni square here! It’s a hefty slice, covered with mini pepperoni cups and spicy marinara sauce. One slice is good enough for me but you might as well get more if you’ve been waiting for a while. There’s almost always a line out the door, but you usually don’t have to wait too long. Be sure to grab a handful of napkins on your way out because you’ll definitely need!

2022-07-04Pepperoni square crust was crunchy and perfectly delicious but I missed the chewy cheese of a thin slice and the pepperoni was so so greasy. Thin vodka slice was delicious in flavor but I like the crust a little crunchier/chewier like some places do it. Overall completely acceptable pizza just not my personal fave.

2022-03-22My favorite pizza that I ate on my trip! My boyfriend prefers bleekers street but I enjoyed prince street more. The sauce was amazing: so flavorful and a touch spicy. The pizza was piled generously with pepperoni. The pizza dough itself was crispy at the bottom and fluffy on the inside. We went on a Thursday at 5:30pm and it took about 20 minutes to stand in line and get our food. There are standing tables outside of the restaurant with hand sanitizer and paper towels. But indoor dining was closed.

2022-02-16Awesome Late Night Pizza spot. Their specialty is their pepperoni Grandma style Square slices and they are addicting. Yummy to the last bite.I also tried their Margherita grandma pizza and it was great too. Yummy pizza all around. My friend got the penne vodka slice and he loved his too.Check it out, especially if its late night and your running out of food options.
