A phenomenal atmosphere to enjoy tasty delights! The staff went out of their way to make sure we got what we wanted. I wish I lived closer because Id be coming more often. The cheesecake and tiramisu are definitely worth trying. I sadly forgot the name but I also drank an extremely refreshing fizzy/juicy drink that was without a doubt one of the best non-alcoholic beverages Ive ever had.
This was my first time at this location although I have visited the forest hills location several times. This one is slightly bigger but there were some things the other location had on their menu that this one didn’t. I tried the salted chicken and the mille feuille for the first time and both were delicious. Our female waiter was nice however, it was the men who were basically rushing us out of there since we got in that kind of ruined it. They were rushing taking our plates and making comments that they were closing soon around 10:20 when the restaurant is timed to be closed at 11. That kind of killed the vibe and experience. Despite that service, food and atmosphere was good.
The ambiance is very nice, and the stuffs are super friendly. I have been there a couple of times, and every time I had a good experience. You have to try a different kinds of teas because every other one is different. The lavender one is my personal favorite. It is highly recommended!
Prince Tea House has one of the best desserts in the city, hands down. I love their pastries so much that I had them cater the dessert at my wedding. Guests raved about the lava cake and tiramisu. Everything was just delicious. The staff was very accommodating as well. I highly recommend their services for your next event!
Came Saturday morning to see a long line , Lady in the front was on her phone and yelling at the other employees also answering phone calls while talking to customers. Took a while to be accommodated. After being seated the waitresses were very accommodating although there was a big party in the back. The food was good , I would recommend the fruit toast and rose lover milk tea .
Very nice atmosphere, very beautiful restaurant. It is a REALLY nice space, very clean too. Staff is super sweet and the desserts and food are good. Tea was quite amazing really love the diverse selection and the milk teas we tried were delicious. Give it a try if you’re in flushing
Cute little place! Prices are very reasonable. The pastry selection is fair - I tried the millie cakes but personally was not a fan. The tea however made up for it. I do NOT drink tea ever and this place I drank an entire pot. It was flavorful and hot the entire time!
I went here today with my sisters and it was beautiful. The service was fast, and the employees were incredibly nice. :) I had accidentally dropped a glass and they were so understanding and kept asking us if we were okay. They even let us go to a different table just for pictures. I highly recommend going here, they have some really nice desserts too. Loved this place so much, will definitely come back if I get the chance.
In need of more staff, Saw ONE PERSON working yesterday. Some lady was yelling at her angrily to do stuff. Completely inconsiderate. Food is decent , not worth the price. Bathroom is clean but considering it was only one person I’m surprised. Saw other reviews about the lady disappointed she still works there. Adding on to my review , The employee was crying , probably from all the stress. Disappointed in this establishment. Do better
I went to dine in with my friends and we were quickly seated by the staff after showing proof of vaccination. The tea and desserts from here were just kinda okay to us, we’ve had better from other places. The best thing about this place is the decor but looks can be deceiving lol.Saw the blonde hair lady who was a bit on the bigger side (sorry not trying to be rude just descriptive) yelling at other employees which just kind of disturbed me and my friends… We just called for our check, paid, then quickly left.
I came yesterday morning and it was so packed but the hostess told me to put down our name and we waited until there was a seat for us. I saw that there was a party going on for a group of people and the staffs assured us that the food might come out a bit slow because of the party. I was totally fine with waiting as I can catch up my friend that I haven’t seen in so long. Everything here was so cute and gorgeous and the desserts were really nicely plated. It seems a bit short staffed as I saw each server was doing many tasks at the same time and they were all rushed. I overheard another group of customers getting angry for no reason when they clearly was trying their best to make us satisfied. The servers did not deserve any of the stuff that group was trying to throw on them. Overall, my experience was really good but I really wished I came to visit on a day without so many people trying to dine in.
This is an updated review for when indoor was allowed for very brief time.Due to a previous experience I had stayed away from this location for a very long time even though I eat around Flushing area quite often. The most recent experiences were during the pandemic. The seating capacity at time of my visit was 25% indoor for restaurants in NYC. Previously the options for most places was outdoor only with take out and / or delivery.I arrived on a somewhat busy weeknight and was told the wait would be at least 20 mins to a half hour. Since the seating capacity for the establishment was 25% and the table spacing requirements for at least 6 feet only certain tables were available. They were following protocol and the wait was not too bad. I submitted my contact info on the wait list and was told I would get a call at when a table opened up.In a little over 20 mins I was called and told a table would be opening up very soon. When I returned to the tea house my temperature was taken and I had to fill out contact tracing information (the protocol set in place when indoor dining was allowed again). For my first visit back, I went with a California Club Sandwich with extra Turkey (main ingredient is lobster), potted plant milk tea and the boba Crêpe cake. The sandwich was all right. The drink was made very well and has quite a unique presentation. Since it is in a glass you can see the layers and it looks like a potted plant since they use Oreo crumbs. The Crêpe cake was quite good and was the main reason for the visit. The actual crêpe cake is more like a créme brûlée and you get a side of tapioca balls (same that is used for the Taiwanese milk tea drinks) and condensed milk topping. You pour the milk over the cake and the pour the boba (tapioca over everything. On another visit I got the fruit waffle, toast and green tea crêpe cake. The menu items seem at a higher price point but are very good quality in both taste and presentation.Alex, who was also the host, was very on point whenever he is working. He always greets and checks in on all the customers to make sure everything’s all right. If the wait is excessive he is very good about letting people know and calling back if your name is on the list. Whenever I have to go orders, they are always brought out in a timely manner. Some other employees gave a different experience....I had gone back a couple of times after the initial visit and it was busier. One occasion there was a young lady who was prepping orders and told me that there was no eta on an open table and did not even offer to have me submit any contact information. Mind you, it was a little after 8p and last call was 930p. I asked if I could put my name on the waiting list and that is when she brought it out. I stayed nearby and saw a few people leave a short time after but received no call. I had to go back in and ask if there was a table. Another employee made a table ready for me. I felt as if they just wanted to not have anyone eat in during that visit.Indoor dining was banned again after my visits and this location still offers take out options.
Went to dine in and the whole experience was flat out horrible. Got the green tea mille crepe cake and saw a finger print on it. Got a katsu chicken sandwich which was really dry and definitely was not worth 11 bucks lol. Eating something from there made my stomach hurt and I’m definitely not the only one. The bathroom smelled horrible as if 5 people have had diarrhea back to back. My friend also got FOOD POISONING from eating here before. Saw that this place has a B rating for their health inspection which was too generous.
The green tea Mille crepes cake is delicious.. the taste is very similar to lady M’s version.. next time around I’ll order something different.. the host was really cute and nice, she accommodated me when I asked to have my cakes packed separately.. I would recommend checking out..
Such a good time here :) cakes and tea are so cute and delicious. They aren’t too sweet which I love, and the teas aren’t weak.I feel like every time I try to come here, though, there’s a fairly long wait (about 30-40 minutes) (also, this is during quarantine and tables space is reduced)
Worst experience ever !!! Highly disappointed and discourage everyone not go to this spot ! We were visiting all the way from Texas and were really excited to try them out. We got there at 11:15 when the hours stated they close at 12 on friday night. The refused to serve us and said the kitchen was closed. But the kitchen was open and everyone was being served. Not the way to treat your potential customers. Dont recommend them to anyone. Such a bad experience !!!
This place is a gem in Flushing for all the tea lovers :) The restaurant is very beautiful and decorations are creative and unique. Very clean place. The staff is very friendly. There are many choices of green tea, black tea, oolong tea, coffee, desserts, other food. The food is delicious and fresh. They desserts are amazing definitely should try their signature dessert! I would highly recommend this place!!!
When I first entered the tea place, I couldn’t help notice that it was only females customers. This uplifted my experience. I mean, Tea House by default is feminine. I enjoyed the atmosphere and aesthetics of the restaurant. I went into the bathroom and realized it was gendered neutral which automatically ups it another star, so we’re at 2 stars so far and I haven’t even sipped on any tea yet. There was a tea cup soap holder in the bathroom. I loved it! Ok, so I ordered the ice coffee and it came in a mason jar. THREE stars at this point because I mean, who doesn’t love mason jars? As my Ice Coffee came, it was perfection. Perfect ice: coffee grounds: milk ratio. Actually it was one of the best coffee I’ve ever had and for $4.50 which brings us to star rating 4 and 5. Good taste and the price was perfect for three amazing drinks. Overall a 5 star BANG!
I do not recommend this establishment. I was here spending time with my sisters whom I do not get to see altogether very often and we decided to get a bite before departing. We were eating and a waitress that was not even ours came to our table to yell at us because my sister took out a donut and small cake we had brought earlier from a dessert event. We understood when she told us to put it away because outside food is not allowed and sister did so immediately but the waitress rudely stood there and glared at her and refused to leave until it was out of sight. We even told her ok were putting away now but she was still rude. Our actual waitress was nice and professional and we had no problem with her. We ordered a lot of food too for just 4 people along with separate teapots for each of us so the rudeness was truly uncalled for from a waitress that wasnt even our own. My baby sister was here earlier in the year and said on her first experience here with her friends, the waitress loudly berated them because she was not happy with their tip. She had actually tipped 18% even though the service was slow and they messed up her order. They refused to let her leave until she tipped more. This is not legal, you can not hold a minor because the tip wasnt to your liking. The actual food though was too sweet. Teas are ok. Beware they berate you if you dont tip them what they want, even if you receive bad service or tip 18%. Place is pretty but listen to the other reviews and decide for yourself if its worth the aggravation.
Small cute tea house that serves variety of tea, desserts, and coffee. I had potted milk foam lavender green milk tea. It was cold tea but not ice cold and not overly sweet..The space is small so there could be a wait during weekends. You will also likely be seating very close to the other group.
Ive visited this place along with three other friends . The place is really nice, with a great environment. People work their are super nice. & the deserts we had were really delicious. Yummy! !! They have a huge collections of teas. Youll get confused which one to pass, and which one to choose from this many. Try the Jesmine tea. It has a great taste. Youll love it.
Take-out review!I LOVE Prince Tea’s rose milk tea and was thrilled to learn that there is a delivery option. Their tea is always perfect. What I wanted to share here, though, is how perfectly they deliver desserts. So well prepared and presented! They are at least 20 minutes from me but the ice cream arrived in perfect form and the chocolate was warm. This place is a great ordering-in option.
This is a cute date spot or somewhere to have some quiet time, do some work, or hang with a girlfriend. Its a little outside the main parts of Chinatown in Flushing, and wasnt crowded when we went. The decor is grand and nice, good ambiance. Clean. Great for the gram. Service is friendly. We ordered a pot of jasmine tea and a black coffee. Unfortunately they didnt have any non dairy milk so my friend settled for black coffee. They do bring you brown sugar. The jasmine tea was tasty, though my palate isnt developed enough to taste all the flavors to justify an $8 teapot. They bring a candle and a teapot holder to keep the tea warm. Nice touch!Desserts were really pretty and decently portioned. We shared the mango mille crepes cake and mille feuille. We werent super impressed. It was plated well, and flavor was good. The mango had lots of cream, and I was expecting the mille feuille to have fruit inside, but it was just cream. It was crispy and had many layers.Overall, Im happy for the experience but would probably spend $30 elsewhere for dessert. Definitely worth a visit though.
Beautiful decor and ambiance.Had the cold teas: rose tea (pink) and mango tea (tan). Perfect amount of sweetness. Rose has a light, lychee-like flavor. The mango was also light and delicious. Not overwhelming or gross at all. Very pleasant experience.Cheesecake was delicious, soft and rich, the fruit tasted fresh perfect.Overall will be going again and would recommend!
Worth the hype! The service was great and all our desserts were delicious! We tried the tarp and boba crepe cakes and both were great. The boba one is sweeter but I loved the brûlée on top! They took extra measures to make sure everything was COVID safe 👍🏻 Can’t wait to go again and try more of their stuff!
It nice place to just relax over a cup of tea and some good desserts. You dont find too many places like this. We had the rose tea with milk and green tea with mint. I love the rose tea a bit more. They have a good variety of tea to select from. Definitely a different experience from South Korea and Japan.
The dessert is amazing!! I prefer this over lady m, plus its cheaper. The only thing is that there is a long wait and i feel like they need more workers. The reason why the wait is so long is because the staff takes so long. However if youre not in a rush, come here for some cake!!
Love the atmosphere! Hot milk tea is one of my personal favorites, so this place is great. The desserts are very good as well. Second time Ive been while in NYC and Ive only been to NYC 3x.Update: It has become ritual to stop at Prince Tea House every time I visit NYC
Keeping it real out here in Downtown Flushing. My first time getting take out at Prince Tea House, felt strange since dining inside of Prince Tea House is always part of the experience, but we did it because a friend of ours really wanted to try some crepe cake. The service was great as usual and I do appreciate the selections of creative desserts offered. Overall another great experience, looking forward to trying it again in the future, Dine - In.
After reading some of the reviews I was hesitant to come here, but it was a lovely place. The desserts were nice as was the hot tea. I liked the plateware and tea cups. Service was good, atmosphere lovely, a bit close to the next table, but otherwise nice tea spot for a date or with friends.
The staff hassled me for 15% tip and acted like it was a law or mandatory -- when in reality it wasnt.I was a dollar or two off from what they expected because I didnt think their service was that great and we werent visited often by the waiters. So what is tip really paying for? Is it an entrance fee just to dine in?Its a shame theyre so petty over a dollar. Patrons are here to dine in, not pay their wages. Thats the owners problem. Raise your prices instead to account for that.
Beautiful experience!!! The aesthetics is everything!!! From the tea set to the inner decor you feel absolutely taken in. The space is small but doesn’t feel small (hope that makes sense lol) it has an intimate appeal due to the close proximity of the tables. A friend and I went today (Monday) for afternoon tea. We had the passion tea with 2 plates of hot wings and sweet potato fries ( don’t judge us). The tea pot is kept hot by sitting on a little stand that has a hole with one of those little candles(absolutely cute). This is a great place to catch up with an old friend( singular because there are not that many group tables and the seating in the middle are tables for two) or take a love interest on a date.
One of my favorite cafes. I’ve been to most of their locations and all had a consistent atmosphere and employees were always helpful. They are known for their hot teas which they serve in dainty tea cups and the tea pot to match, they also provide a warmer to ensure that the tea stays warm all the time. One of my FAVORITE desserts that they offer is the brown sugar boba mille crepe cake 🤤🤤🤤🤤 definitely must try! It is a perfect dessert because it is not too sweet, the flavors are not too overwhelming.
Excellent place for a cup of tea but also an excellent place for desserts and snacks. We got the hot Rose Milk Tea pot with a waffle with condensed milk and strawberries which was enough to serve two. The green tea mille crepe cake was also good too. Overall everything is good and I would definitely come back for more.
Very nice prices and ambiance with nice tea and drink selections. The food is nice and they have an amazing salmon salad that is really nicely sliced instead of big slices, amazing chicken dishes and desert dishes as well. It is a nice place and I highly recommend it.
Good hangout spot in flushing, sometimes its hard to get seats. The desserts and teas are not that good. Id usually come here just to catch up with friends and we dont come for the food. Some of their teas are overly sweet and we had to ask them for additional water to make it drinkable.
If I could give negative stars I would. Tried to check in but couldn’t cuz on of the people working there was sleeping. I understand it cuz life is hard but honestly I should have left then but still stayed. Later I ordered a earl grey and while drinking it I felt something hard and sharp in my mouth. I spit it out and it’s a piece of plastic/glass???? I let the waiter know and there were like okay. Never coming back again.
Great cozy spot to hang out with friends. I would also recommend this for a date or meetup.I came with a group of 6 and we were able to enjoy tea that was beautifully displayed and very tasty. Little pricey, but won’t break the bank. This is a chain so if this spot is not convenient, definitely check out the others.
Love the atmosphere here, the scent infusers are hella cute and id totally get one for my home in a heartbeat. Very chill space for a brunch, dates with friends or an afternoon social. That aside, the purple yam souffle (a featured special) took a little bit to come out but i was informed by the attentive staff beforehand and good conversation made the time go by. It was about 10-15mins total. Worth the wait.Standouts include the Smoked Salmon sandwich, Lava Cake (hope you like sweets) and Passion Fruit slush.
Romantic little tea house with cute Victorian-style decor, velvet sofa chairs and elegant chandeliers. The mille crepe cake couldve used more matcha flavour but the potted rose green tea was heavenly. Had it reduced to 30% sugar and it was perfectly topped with Oreo crumbs.Overall enjoyable experience here!
Very nice ambiance, with small groups of friends and couples chatting and enjoying a desert and tea. The tea and desert selection is great. I really liked my jasmine tea, but the server didnt know very well how to serve it. In the end of a really nice stay I was upset to be charged an extra $1 because I wanted to pay with a credit card. :-/ Not sure this is even legal.
Atmosphere was cozy and relaxing. Feels like a swanky spot to go for dessert. Many tea options to choose from as well as desserts. We wanted something refreshing and fruity and the Montagne bleue tea was perfect. It was frui-tea but not sugary. The du hamman has a lovely vanilla aroma to it and is really nice. My least favorite is the fleur de geisha. Smells like baby wipes. The margeleen has hope tea has no hope. I wouldnt recommend it, boring. In addition, the Jasmine chunfeng tastes similar to the smell of an old Chinese restaurant bathroom. However, couple the chunfeng with the mango tea and youll be fine. The mango tea is similar to the montagne Bleu. Not bad
First off, once you find parking (or give up and end up in the parking garage across the street) in this busy little section of flushing and make it inside you are transported away instantly. The decor seems a bit more sophisticated compared to neighboring restaurants. Minus the hustle and bustle from outside, the vibe inside is sip and chill🙌🏿. This is a great place to talk over a pot of tea anytime of the day. The menu is barely satisfying for lunch but NOT where you want to go if your looking for a full dinner service. With an array of tea flavors (hot and cold), snacks and desserts; the only thing required is a few friends or maybe just one that you really need to catch up with tea. The desserts are nicely plated but basic.
Prince tea house is nice if you are lucky to find a parking spot nearby. Flushing is a busy place but their tea is worth the time. The price is little bit on the higher side. Tea is very flavorful and the seasonal interior makes it a great place for little chitchat or hangout after a busy work day or even in the weekend evenings.
Went here in December 2020. Great experience. Waitress was very nice and patient and I liked the ambience of the place. My best friend and I got rise tea which was so cute and had little rose petals in it. We also got crepe cake (highly recommend) which was not too sweet I really liked it. We also got an appetizer, I forgot what it’s called but it’s like these little rolls w chicken and cheese which were slightly spicy and DELICIOUS. All that was less then $30 and filled us up. I recommend!
Went to this location for the first time and that will be the last. The girl at the counter is extremely rude. The customer service sucked as we sat and waited for someone to come take order for more then 30 mins. We asked to sit at the booth as we were party of four, the girl straight up said, “No because if a party of 5 will come, you would have to get up”, 10 mins later she gave the same booth to a party of 4 people. No one came to ask if we needed anything more during the whole time we sat and ate.Food and drinks are good as it is standard at Prince Tea house, but this branch failed us in their customer service.
Oh my god wow! This is one of the best cafes Ive ever been to. Food was quick and employees were very kind. Food menu was so formated and organized and of course delicious. Every bite was better than the last! Scenery of train station also gave off 1800 vibes in a way. Deserves a big 5 star!
Wonderful food and tea!! We had the English toffee Milk tea, the Lemongrass Ginger Sunflower tea and crab salad, crab sandwich, and sweet potato fries. All of it was wonderful.Less one star because the wait staff was rushing us a bit too soon. They were very nice but approached the table at the wrong time and/or cleared things out in a rush.
I had to give a star, it deserves 0 star. Very poor service. The girl Lima. That’s what she mentioned her name took our order but forgot to serve the food after reminding couples of time, only think she served that she is sorry but still didn’t serve the food. Later we figured that she instead of green tea cake she was saying that we ordered lava cake just to prove herself right then come back again after the whole table finish the tea, AS PER HER IT TAKES TIME TO PREPARE A PEACE OF CAKE TO SERVE. This is not the first time I came to prince tea. This my worse experience. My personal opinion to other please DO NOT COME TO THIS LOCATION. Also they ask for tips in the front before you get your table.
I continue to love Prince Tea House for the sophisticated yet cozy ambiance, service and menu. I always feel like Ive been transported from busy city life. Its THE picture to paint with high tea. And I love the variety of tea and the unique desserts, all rarely found in other shops.
Wow, I expected a lot from this place. But after my experience, my family and I will never be going back. We experienced:- Incorrect items sent to table (desserts), MULTIPLE times- Incorrect tea (1 out of 2) and took 20 minutes for a new pot…- Found sharp piece of glass/plastic in mini parfait cup included in afternoon tea set that my sister nearly swallowed. No apologies issued out for any of the above issues when first took place, except when replacement parfait was given, waitress said a very quick “sorry” with no eye contact and no interaction. It was said with a deadpan expression and a flat voice.Overall, my family and I were extremely upset with our experience here.
The ambiance and decor was nice. The Crab meat salad was great and refreshing. The teas and green tea crepe cake was okay. Not something I would order again. Had the new mango smoothie and it was practically white had no taste of mango and had a strong flavor of condensed milk.
This place is elegant and cozy. A little slow service but worth the wait. Their fresh teas are known to be imported directly from France and they just taste really good. Rose tea and oolong tea is my favorite from their tea menu and the tea sets are really pretty. Their menu includes a variety of other foods ranging from eggs Benedict to salads, I’d highly recommend their salmon salad if you’re a salmon person.
The wait at Prince Tea House tends to be a bit long but I guess thats an indication of how good it is! We came in pretty late on a Saturday night (around 11:00 pm) and the wait for a table for 4 was still over 20-30 minutes. Definitely worth the wait!Their crepe layer cakes are incredible, we got the mango one which is so so good. Its not overly sweet and the consistency is just perfect overall. Just pair that with some Rose Milk Tea and you have yourself a great combination. We were able to share a pot of the tea between 4 people, with everyone getting about two small cups (that pot of bigger than it looks!).
Came in at 10 pm tonight for dessert was told there was a full house and ordered to go then two tables left 10 minutes later and asked to be seated to order some tea as well as we asked the hostess/ waitress closed the door while asking her to grab some tea when it was 10:13 and I was told earlier that the last call for the kitchen was 10:30 pm. Very unprofessional. As well for reference we were a two top and there was one table behind the hostess stand that would be socially distant and was clean. Also provided no cutlery for our to go order. Staff needs better training on how to handle to go orders and needs help on customer service. You dont close the door on customers as theyre talking to you.
Rude employee, terrible customer service. Store hours are from 12pm-10pm, but I entered the store at 9pm with a group of three people and was rejected dine-in service when the store was clearly open and there were customers sitting inside eating (not yet at full capacity). My friends and I returned at 9:30pm and decided to pick up take-out instead, and yet again we were turned down by the same female employee with a simple “we are closed today and not taking any more orders.” Would give a 0 star rating if possible.
The tea is excellent and they have a good selection. The food, however, is kind of mediocre for what they charge. And yeah, you cant demand that people pay a minimum tip...Edit: I tried this place again more recently. Im wondering if theyre under different management now... Either way, this was originally a 2-star review, but this place really improved. (Be aware that they WILL request proof of vaccination.)
Very inviting location for a semi-romantic setting. The place is also welcoming for a group of friends to hangout. The tea is very good and the desserts are even better. Only complaint is that sometimes the wait time is a bit much and they give you a time limit during busy hours but it is very understandable so I didnt let it affect my rating. Great place overall. If it is your first time, you can always ask the servers for recommendations. I did the same and they gave great choices.
Amazing time for mother, daughter bonding. If you ladies want to feel like royalty and get good food at a good price.you cant beat this tea house. Its amazing. The atmosphere is peaceful yet buzzing with life and a hint of sophistication. The service is top notch they are polite and warm. The wait was a little long but totally worth it. If you love a good tea this is the place to be. ❤☕
Fancy looking place to take your date to. Large selection of teas in pots for two or more, and variety of desserts. Had the waffle with mango fruit. The mango was too good. Be prepared to wait nearby the register as more and more people flood in for a seat too. If you use Yelp, reserve a spot ahead of time online.
I love all the desserts here. Favorite everytime is hot tea and mille crepe. The dessert is perfect at the amount of sweet. As I cannot tolerate too much sugary dessert, their menu is just too perfect to be true. The setting is also very nice and relaxing. This is def my hangout place with friends.
If youre looking for a quiet and amicable place to study or take a date, this Prince Tea House is what youre looking for. Tea, snacks, ambiance - its got it all. To satisfy my weekly sweet tooth cravings, I got the molten lava cake and the Earl Grey Milk Tea and it hit the spot.
Many new cafes in NYC, but prince tea House still reigns supreme! Comfortable seating, good teas, creative desserts. You can usually find seats here but impossible to find seats at spot dessert. And spot rushes you out! This is definitely the better place to chill and have some tea
Called to make sure they have space before going in, they told me ill have to wait 30-40 minutes and we agreed on it. When we walked in, they refused to take us in. We are muslims, and she seem a bit uncomfortable around us because when i talked to her in the phone, she was nice but when she saw us in person, she was a bit hesitant and kept giving us excuses and telling us that theyre going to close the place soon. i am traumatized by this experience
This is a horrible place, as soon as you come in there is paper in the front says how much you have to pay tips before even order. Also our food was $65, we handed them $100 lady was keep on asking do you need change. I DONT KNOW WHAT MAKE HER THINK IT WILL BE $35 tips for $65 food.
A very cute place to get tea and desserts. The food is also pretty good. Been here a few times can’t really complain. Only thing I dislike would be the space is not so big I normally go with big groups so is hard to keep a lot of plates on the same table. Overall nice place.
Super cute place! They have a great selection of teas for around $7 a pot or $4 if you want iced. Ive had the Rose black milk tea and Earl Grey milk tea and both were really good. We tried the coffee, caramel and matcha crepe cakes and all were good and not too sweet. The sandwiches were $7 and comes with a side salad. We ordered the turkey club. Maybe Im used to BLTs because I felt it would have tasted a lot better with bacon. The nuggets chicken tasted like the usual Taiwanese nuggets.
I usually love going to this place. I love their food and pastries but I had the nastiest service today! First my server was brand new and he messed up my order twice so the second time I was like alright its fine. After that another lady brought the check and had the nerves to come back and say 5 dollar is not enough for tip, I dont understand when are these people gonna understand a tip is not even mandatory. How do you even ask for a tip after messing up my order and making me pay extra anyways??????!
The place is a bit small and it was pack when we came in so there was a bit wait, however it was worth it. We ordered hot tea and a mango green tea with foam. We also had fried squid tails for starters and finished off with some awesome dessert... the purple yam cake was my fave.
Prince tea house has a quaint theme reminiscent of a cozy home. The experience was quite enjoyable, however the when it came to ordering, consuming, and paying for the food was quite unenjoyable. My group was composed of 8 people, and the waitresses were quite accommodating. Allowing us to separate into 2 tables to be comfortably seated. When it came to ordering our food the waitress seemed to have an annoyed tone , as one of our party members were having trouble deciding. In an attempt to get us to order, the waitress suggested for us to order first in a harsh tone with a disrespectful sigh. When we finished ordering, the food arrived at a moderate time. During this time the waitress left us alone for quite awhile, until she abruptly arrived and asked do you need any help? and completely interrupted our conversation. When we finished, and first attempted to leave the waitress promptly pointed at the bottom of the receipt. Which showed their preferred tip pricing ranging from 18-20%. On our second attempt, she asked how much is on there?. Reffering to the tip we paid, which was around 19% and allowed us to go. However, the other 4 people of our party were not as fortunate. When they first attempted to leave they left around $9 tip which was about 18%. However, the waitress took one glance at the tip pile and said thats not enough and did not allow them to leave. This was incredibly rude as the tip provided was a suggested amount, yet they restricted them from exiting the store. Overall, Prince Tea House is pleasingly opulent but this opulence is not a reason to have rude staff.
Wanted to come here and relax with a friend. The desserts were pretty, but not something too special. The waitress was overwhelmingly rude and impatient. My friend and I left a tip of about $3 for our $15 bill just to be polite, not feeling like they deserved more, especially after the horrible service. It was enough that we left a tip at all considering how rude the staff were. But then the lady actually stopped us at the door and demanded more tip. The lady was so aggressive that we were actually really scared and handed over a few more dollars before the lady let go of us without so much of a thank you and shooed us out. Absolutely horrible. Will never come back.
This was a nice spot to have a rest and hang out with friends. We went on a Sunday afternoon around 1pm. They dont have any tea sets with the tiered platters, so if thats what youre looking for, you will be disappointed. Other than that, everything was nicely presented. We ordered 4 teas including the Lavender Milk Tea, but our favorite was the Citrus Blend. There are no refills, and you wont find any tea leaves in your teapot. They also ran out of several items on the menu, including Smoked Salmon Sandwiches, Purple Yam Souffle, and Raspberry Mousse Chocolate Cup which we wanted to try. Service was spotty, but I may still give this place another try in the future.
My 1st visit to Prince Tea House has been nothing short of Exquisite! Great selection on Teas and sweets to pair it with such as waffles, cakes, crepes, puddings, etc. The environment is so welcoming, cozy and warm... great to catch up with friends, casual 1st date or just a night out with the girls or guys to spill the Tea! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. If you have a sweet tooth like me be sure to try the waffle with condense milk, strawberries and a scoop of the green tea ice cream as pictured below... literally heaven!Be sure to follow me on Instagram @bibinoir for snapshots on food, travel, makeup and much more.Thank you and see you there. ❤
This place is beautiful! Very Pinterest-esque in the decor. Hot tea is served in ornamental, royal looking tea pots over a warmer with matching cups and saucers with a few rose petals, iced drinks are served in mason jars with straws. Extensive tea selection and everything is delicious. I love the iced rose milk tea because its very refreshing and is a gorgeous pink color with floating rose petals. They also serve finger food appetizers and desserts like crepes and cheesecake. The place is great for a date, to catch up with girlfriends or to hang out in the AC during the afternoon. It is a bit cramped as the tables are extremely close together, and it tends to get very crowded during the evenings. If there is no one waiting though, you can sit there for as long as you like and just keep chatting, but its not the kind of place to work on a laptop, to go alone or to bring children. There is a minimum for a credit card which I forget, but you can still use one below the minimum if you dont mind a $1 fee. The girls that serve here are on the curt side as with most places in Flushing, so dont expect flattering service, or even a smile.
Great place to hang out and talk, very conducive for conversation with groups of 4-8 people.Great selection of tea and dessert - highly recommend the green tea cake!Very classy and nice looking interior. They have some as well. Will definitely return! Only problem is parking in the area.
Started coming here when they first opened. It is a cute tea shop with some delicious cakes. Its a very cute and girly experience. Would highly recommend it as a date spot or just hanging out with the girls. The only problem is that it is now really popular and there is a wait time. I suppose its a good problem to have for businesses.
I usually go to the one in Bensonhurst, thats my favorite location but I have also been to one in Astoria. This one probably had the worst customer service. The waitress was extremely rude. I tried ordering one item on the menu and she brought out the wrong one then tried arguing that this was the item I had asked for. The entire table vouched for me because they had heard me but she was not having it. She brought out the correct item and charged us for both.
I trekked all the way from the city to try this place, and it was a bit disappointing in all honesty. I heard great things about this place, and that they are always packed. But my experience didnt match up.My party of two arrived around 2:30pm on a Monday, and there was not wait as there were only a couple tables taken. For the teas, we ordered rose milk tea and a lavender milk tea. For the sweets, we ordered the green tea creme brulee and the mille feuille. The teas were brought in pretty pots and kept heated with a mini fire contraption on the table. The teas were sweet to my liking and had the nice flavor of the rose and lavender flowers. As for the desserts, they were just okay. The green tea creme brulee tasted pretty standard, but lacked too much of the matcha powder taste. The mille feuille dessert is kind of a misnomer because it is not the typical mille feuille crepes you expect. Instead, it is two puff pastries with creme and sparse pieces of fruit sprinkled around. Ehh, the pastry was okay and the fruit added nothing to the taste. Maybe I ordered the wrong sweets, but they were just underwhelming.Afternoon tea for two came to a total of $34 with tax and tip, which is really reasonable. This is a cheap price for your modern Asian take on afternoon tea, and probably one of the few places you can get it. I wouldnt come out of your way to try this place, but give it a try if youre in the area.
You come in and feel like youve left flushing and enter ended the queens castle to have some tea. When you order the tea it comes in a nice tea pot with the matching tea sets. We ordered (I dont remember the name) a G8. The tea smelt amazing. Everything was great. The service and the tea. The only down fall was the green tea crepes cake. But I think it was just not for me.
Not the cheapest desserts in town but if your significant other wants tea house desserts you do what they say. There are quite a few of teas to chose from hot and cold. My favorites are the potted milk foam teas, I could drink those all day.My lady-friend ordered the rose milk green tea and creme puffs while I just had the jasmine milk green tea, both potted and milk foam, no other way to have it.Occasionally there could be a line and parking is a pain, so come ready.
Food was decent but what killed it was that one of the pot of teas we ordered was Luke warm. They had already poured it to four people on our table. After letting them know they poured it back from each of our cup and took it to warm the same thing. Mind you we all took a sip from that tea. I mean be cost effective but not grossly cheap. I am not gonna drink tea someone else put there mouth in. This was my experience here the first time. Would not be going back there. Thanks.
This place gave me the best impression! I walked in and I was already in love with this place because it is so beautiful! The desert tasted great and I am glad I came. Its worth it. I recommend to peoe who like sweet deserts and couple to come, rest, and have a nice cup of tea.
Two other table that came after receive their meal. Asked twice about our meal (sandwich/tea) and got told its coming, okay... After an hour wait, we had enough! As we were leaving, they told us they messed up and forgot our order (offer dessert as an apology)...seriously? It would have been a lot better if they own up to it and gave us the dessert at the table, not when were already at the door. Mistake happens...but theres the right way of handling it. Overall - Poor Service!
I had a wonderful time enjoying my new family member celebrate their surprise bridal shower. It was a splendid time our gathering and a memory I will always remember, with the help of the fast and friendly service, beautiful ambiance and warm setting I was in awe the whole time
I would rate this place ZERO if I can!! The waitress are offended my daughter and her friends by asking for more tip, let me be more clear to you by writing. The waitress stopped the girls at the door and wont let them go because the lady mention the suggested is 18% tip is and the girls were short of $2.00 and they gave all the change for tips. The lady told the girls that they are not leaving the restaurant until they pay the $2.00, the girls looked thought their bookbags and pockets gave all the quarters to chip in $2.00 so the lady will let them go home. Tip should be what I, the customer feel like giving. My daughter and her friends got scared from being locked in the restaurant because of the waitress asking for $2.00 more tips. They are only teenager and this is how you treats them because you want $2.00 more tips!!!!! I think you HAVE a problem with your service by asking for more tips and locked the students in the restaurant!! I would have called the police if my daughter calls me during the time you locked them in the restaurant!!! Nevertheless, good luck on your job asking for ENOUGH tips lmao.
The place looks amazing. Foods was delicious. However, I am not happy with the rudeness of the waiters. They told us to leave after sitting long. Plus stoped us outside stating we didnt pay the tip. First you kick us out and then want a tip... Make sure to read the tiny font for tip in the receipt. I dont know if I would come again.
Dont get me wrong everything about this place is amazing. However, theres just 2 problems. The only thing good for desserts is the Fruit toast dessert and its sad that none of the other ones are even upto expectation. Presentation is all there, but taste isnt. The other problem I encountered several times is that there is no gratuity on the bill yet even though I still drop tip money, I was .14 cents short they said on what the proper amount should be...and the waitresses ran after me outside saying I cant leave unless I give them .14 cents. That was really weird. Maybe the owner should be interrogated because I dont feel like theyre paying the waitresses properly or maybe gratuity should be added on the bill so this wouldnt be a problem.
Just left the place. If I wasn’t clear when you offended me by asking for more tip, let me be more clear to you by writing. Two of us went in for 2 drinks, 1 app., and 2 dessert. Total came to be $33 and some change. We left $3 and some change which I’m sure added up to be at least $4. Regardless if it was $3 or $4 tip I left, the last lady that saw us out checked the container and asked “Was there a problem with the service?” Girl, you really think I’m intellectually imcompetent to understand what you’re trying to say?! Then she goes on to mention the suggested 18% tip is $5 and some change. A tip should be what I, the customer feel like giving. From me being seated, ordering food, you bringing out food, take 3 of my empty plates, giving me the check, take my money, I only consider your action of taking my plates as service. Me being seated, taking my order, bring me the items, giving me the check, take my money, it’s all part of my dining experience! These actions are a MUST in order for a transaction and therefore I see that as part of my dining service and not as your “extra” service that you did. The only “extra” service you ever performed was taking my 3 empty plates because in reality you didn’t have to but you did. So, a $33 cafe dining experience and me tipping you what I tipped, I feel it is just and I do not feel bad at all. However, you asking me your foolish question and thinking I do not know what kind of stunt you’re trying to pull is rather mine blowing. Lastly, to answer your very first question, do I have a problem with your service, no I do not. But when you started to question the amount of tip I had left you, I started to HAVE a problem with your service. Nevertheless, good luck on your job asking for ENOUGH tips lmao.
BEWARE! Do not try to book a party at this establishment!I tried to set up a baby shower for 15 people and called the manager Elaine to set up a date and get party information. We set up a time to meet and also confirmed a time and date for the baby shower. I showed up to our meeting at the Astoria location to put down the deposit for the party, but she no-called and no-showed. The staff said she left 5 minutes prior to our set time. I called her and no answer, but her staff called and she picked up. When I got her on the phone she said she had an “emergency” and wasn’t able to meet me any time soon or at any other location she was working at. After trying to sort out details on the waitresses phone for 25 minutes, she then told me the date was suddenly booked by another party and no longer available after previously agreeing to book my party on that date.It was a very unprofessional experience and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

2022-05-07It’s the most beautiful and delicious tea room in my life!! The interior is amazing, every detail in the restaurant is perfect, stylish and hight class! About the tea…. all teas are very good, fresh and tasty, from cold teas to hot and with milk. Their pastries were great as well. I highly recommend this tea house as such places are hard to find in the US.

2022-03-19I enjoy the fruit teas they have here. This is a cute place to go and have tea, and eat desserts. The servers were really nice and polite.I ordered the passion fruit tea and the green tea Mille crepes cake. I really like the taste of the fruit tea (but it did make my throat dry so if they offered water with it I think it would be more enjoyable).I’m not a big fan of green tea but my friend likes it so we got the cake. In my opinion, it tasted more bitter, than sweet. But that’s the green tea taste in general.I forgot to take the picture but they have a sign that says if you post on social media and tag them they give you 20% off your order. So make sure to let the server know if you wanna take advantage of that.

2022-06-04My daughter held her 10th birthday party here. Minimum of 10 guests and min order to $35 per person. 2 hours limit. Serve mostly finger food, salad, sandwiches and pastries. They have good tea and drink options. Decent environment with high ceiling.

2022-04-21We were really excited to try the tea here but went away disappointed. We ordered the green tea crepe cake, prince passion hot fruit tea, and white blossom mock tail. The crepe cake layers were too thick with too much creme in between. You can’t taste the crepe at all with each bite. The matcha taste was not distinct at all. We were surprised because it’s one of the most popular items on the menu. The passion fruit tea was way too sweet. We were disappointed to find out only after the fact that you can adjust the sugar level but we were not informed of this when ordering. It tasted like fruity syrup and not like real fruit tea at all. This feels like a shortcut for what’s supposed to be a tea place. Also the server who poured our tea spilled a puddle of tea on our table for both our cups. A small detail but expected more from a tea place, and made the experience lacking. The white blossom mock tail was decent, but again couldn’t taste the tea. It was more sparkling water than tea.We definitely won’t be returning again. In our opinion, this is not a place that prides itself in quality ingredients and instead uses way too much sugar in its drinks and desserts.

2022-06-05Ordered the afternoon tea for two. What an awesome experience! Its not a large yes house, but the decor and ambience, as well as the food, was well above the standard. And the tea was so, so good! Make sure to try the green tea Palais de The Fleurs de Geisha, it has a subtle bergamot flavor you the green tea that is truly memorable.

2022-02-04Nice spot for a tea and a dessert. I would recommend the green tea mille crepe. This was pretty good. Also the tea comes in pretty tea cups. If you are lucky you can get a booth but this place is pretty popular on the weekends but you can out your name down for a table. Overall nice place.
