I actually bought a 2005 Toyota Highlander from here, in great shape. When an exhaust leak happened they responded very quickly and fixed my vehicle fast and the right way. Not many shops as honest and hardworking as these left around. Alex (owner) is a great honest man, who will not scam you. I will always bring my vehicle here, even though it’s an hour from me.Highly recommend!
Editing my original review to clarify that Proficient Auto has always treated me and my cars very well. Prices are always fair, reasonable, and never overcharges for anything. I will always recommend Alex and company at Proficient Auto for top notch service and peace of mind.
Anytime Ive ever been in a pinch with something I cant handle myself they have been there to get it done and the work gets done in a reasonable time frame and with excellent quality considering most times they are already busy with other customers. They are 1 of only 2 people other than myself I will even let work on my vehicles. Would absolutely reccomend them time and time again!!
Great service and better people. I dont know much about cars but they could have told me just about anything needed to be replaced and yet they offered me a cheap alternative that has worked out spectacularly. I will definitely be going there again for automotive repairs.
Had Alex and bill from proficient do a clutch upgrade on my WRX. They did a great job in a timely fashion and also provided the best price for installation in town. If you are looking for a reliable straight forward shop that isnt going to rake you over the coals give them a call.

2022-03-29Very nice, easy to schedule with, honest and reasonable. They never try to push me into fixing thing or having things done that dont need to be , and are always honest. I can always get my vehicles in for on oil change or inspection quickly and with what works for my schedule. They have a nice office area to sit in if your waiting for your vehicle and the women that works the front desk is super nice.

2021-12-09Private auto family that will not jip you in any way! Make sure you talk with Alex to make sure his grand mechanics are giving you detailed valuable informative info. On your car needs. And they do a great thorough job at its finest! For example my lower gasket is leaking a little and can wait to be fixed with a 1000 price tag as long as I keep 50/50 coolant at its fill line. Some mechanics may rush it and say needs fixing NOW or you will be in trouble, right? Talk with Alex he will take care of your car care with NO rush or bush. Or fuss.....

2020-10-05The staff at Proficient Automotive are great. All of their cost information is clearly posted inside their office where you pay for their services. I have bought a car from Alex and it was perfect. Always got my work done in a timely manner and informed me of any changes that occurred during a servicing. They make time for their customers and care about things done right the first time around. Pricing is normal/better than any other shop I’ve gone to. Love the environment and how friendly staff are. 10/10 recommend.

2020-10-06Alex is an excellent mechanic and is more than reasonably priced. He is the best shop around town bar none. Keeps in communication regarding status and expected pricing. 12/10 would recommend to anyone who asks and I’ve been using his shop for years now.

2021-09-01Well he flushed my transmission fluid. He did not ask me before he did this. Then when it still wouldn’t go into reverse. He said, he does not know much about transmissions. When I took the car in the transmission was working fine. He was just to fix the problems causing my engine light to stay on and do an inspection. So $2000 later. I had to find a transmission specialist to fix my transmission correctly. I shall not say more.What he basically neglected to do was let me know there was a transmission problem, before he flushed my system. My manual was in my glove compartment which would have told him to refer to a specialist for a sealed system. The transmission does not have a access to check the fluid level because it is considered a sealed system. Which I would think a qualified mechanic would know this.

2020-10-05Scheduled an appointment and had my car serviced as soon as I got there. Great staff, professionalism all around and reasonable rates. There are local mechanics who all have different prices in terms of parts and labor, but the folks here had fair prices. Thanks Alex for helping me with my car!
