My mom was feeling really bad about to faint and the receptionist guy told me looking at my mom how she was and said that she has to go somewhere else because they were not taking people at 9pm when they close at 11pm it very disrespectful and disappointing to have to be driving around with your mother sick because a heath care place refuses to take her in when they clearly post that they take walk in. Then my mom ended up bleeding because something was happening to her and I had to take her to the ER when they could have avoided this if they took her in time to see what was going on with her. I’m never coming to this place ever again and same on them for what they did to my mother this place is the worst!!
Pro Health got me in for a covid test at the last minute. They were professional and nice. Even called me in my car when it was my turn. The patient waiting rooms are nice as well. Clean. Well kept.I don’t like when the doctor/nurses/other personnel who work in the back area carry on, make a lot of noise, and make me think they’re not very professional. I’m there for a medical reason. I don’t want to hear carrying on.
This is a wonderful urgent care facility. Everyone was so friendly and warm. In particular, Jess and Jaime at the front desk were so kind and very accommodating. Gracia my nurse and the provider I had (I don’t remember her name) were also great. I am from out of town and was made to feel very welcome. I would recommend this facility to anyone in the future!
I have gone to a few Urgent Cares and I really think Pro Health was very professional caring and helpful. The girl at the front desk was super nice and very pleasant. With all this Covid and as busy they are it was a great experience. They actually took our information and told us to wait in our car so we can stay warm and they would call our cell phone. Definitely a good place I will be returning.
I had some concerns of going to a clinic for the first time but I was pleasantly surprised! The receptionists were very helpful and courteous and the preliminary check in was simple. I didnt have to wait very long to be seen and the Medical Assistant and Dr. were friendly and professional. I would highly recommend Pro Health in West Islip to my friends and family.
Very clean facility with an oversized waiting room so you arent sitting on top of the patient next to you. Quick & easy check-in procedure. Paperwork is sent to your phone by text to fill-in while you are waiting. You can check your wait in line by the app on your phone. The PAs & Medical Assistants are very professional & thorough. The PA took a patient history before examining me. They ran basic tests while I was there, sent a specimen to the lab & then explained their findings in detail. Have used them several times when I couldnt get an appointment with my primary care doctor & I would use them again.
My girlfriend was suffering from pain in her throat that she had never experienced before, so we ran her over to the Urgent Care arriving at 9:30pm. The UC’s closing time was 10pm. As we pulled up the lights turned out. As I walked up I saw an employee walking towards what looked like the backroom. I knocked on the glass to get their attention, nothing. I walked further down the glass and knocked a little louder, and noticed the employee was hiding just out of view, waiting for me to leave. I waved and knocked until they answered the door. The employee seemed annoyed that I was there, well before their closing time, and told me they closed early. I explained my girlfriend was in pain, and she did not care one bit.I’m appalled that a place where sick and injured go for help has a staff who decides they’d rather go home early than fulfill their duties. This is absolutely disgusting.
I went here for a Covid rapid test, on thanksgiving morning.. after looking at a couple other places that had insane lines wrapped around the building, they were on my way home and I thought I’d give it one last try - I’m so glad I did. They were super professional, courteous, and given how busy they were they got in me very quickly. Everyone was very kind, and in comparison to other methods, they have their patients wait in their cars and call them when they’re ready for them, which seems much safer for all parties involved. I appreciate the kindness and caring of the staff, and for being there on a day that I’m sure they would have rather spent with their families or at home. I have been there in the past for other issues, but I would definitely go again as I had a really good experience.
It was a pleasant experience. When I went the second day all of the staff members were helpful and polite. I was in and out. I appreciated the ease of checking in and waiting in my car to avoid waiting outside in the cold. When I went the evening before, the receptionist was short and sharp but this was probably due to a long work day. Overall, I would definitely go again.
I wish I was able to give them no star, Worst experience ever, avoid this place if you can, Staff is not trained properly; I am at awe with the level of unprofessionalism I experienced, I was yelled at by two fo their staff in front of my 3 years old, the staff refused to give me their full name when I told them I wanted to put in a formal complaint. At some point my horrible visit I was told to go to PM pediatrics if I am unhappy which was the only right thing about my visit.
Never good having to go to Urgent Care but my experience here was better then expected. The facility was very clean, staff was very personable and doctor very informative. My wait was less then 5 minutes and doctor had my script to my pharmacy within 15 minutes. I hope to never have to come back because I’m sick but if I do this is definitely the go to facility for my family and I.
I will only visit PRO-HEALTH. Urgent care of West Islip for my Urgent care needs from now on. As soon as I walked in the door it was clean & peaceful. The front desk staff were polite. I received a sincere warm welcome from Ms Dianne who took my vitals. The Doctors took time. listened and asked questions. We had an unrushed conversation about my concerns. Clearly explained solutions.Alternate as well as holistic solutions were discussed. I feel very confident about my privacy and wellbeing here. My wait time was less than 15 minutes each time. This is the best Urgent Care experience Ive ever had.
My wife burned her hand while preparing dinner. They were the only urgent care open this late on a Sunday night. The staff was very pleasant and professional in my waiting time was minimal. The doctor was very nice and the place is very clean. I would recommend this urgent care to anybody where is looking for local care
I went to the nearest ProHealth clinic to avoid going to the ED. I was able to make an appointment easily on line. I didn’t have to wait long to see the doctor. The staff was very friendly and I was diagnosed quickly and prescribed the medication I needed. My symptoms began to resolve the next night. I would recommend highly
My experience at Pro Health in West Islip was excellent. Everyone from the receptionist to the tech who did my Covid-19 test to the doctor was caring and professional. The doctor took time to talk to me about my symptoms and to reassure me that I would be fine. I definitely would recommend my friends and family to take advantage of the Pro health group for their urgent care needs.
I went to Pro Health for a rapid COVID test, based on a recommendation of my friend. Upon arrival, the ladies at the desk were very friendly, it was an easy check in, a short wait to be seen. The test was administered by a very nice and professional young man. Dr Diane came in a short time later with my results (which were not what I wanted to hear) and she was very compassionate and helpful. I would recommend ProHealth to my friends and family
Dr. Peterman was so thorough and amazing throughout the whole visit, everyone since I walked in was very pleasant and I cannot remember my medical assistants name but she was just as amazing and so nice throughout my whole visit. I appreciate everyone for all the help! Already feeling a lot better.
I was extremely pleased by the excellent care I received! The receptionist was polite and thorough upon my entering the office. Within minutes Robert, the attending nurse brought me to the examination room and explained what I was going to experience. He was ver He was clear, thorough and very patient with my questions. Dr. Diana Peterman entered within a minute or two and explained what would be next. She was very thorough and made me feel very comfortable. She allowed time for questions and discussed my concerns. She was pleasant and caring regarding my examination. This made me very comfortable and glad I chose your facility. The staff is very professional as well as good at what they do. Everything was very clean and organized. I had been to ProHEALTH before and was satisfied...that is why I chose to return. I am highly satisfied with the office visit and the care i received! I definitely reccomend Prohealth urgent care to my friends and to the community.P S- urgent care was recommended to me a few years ago my an EMT who recognized their high quality if care compared to other walk-in offices. Thank you to the excellent Doctor, nurse and staff!
I’ve been here a few times since they opened and had pleasant experience each time. The doctors are very nice and the staff are very professional. They have separate rooms for children and it is very clean. They are always friendly and i have never waited more then a few minutes. I would definitely recommend this urgent care.
Ive been here before, but today was the worst experience ever! I walked in knowing exactly what I needed (UTI test) the receptionist greeted me with WE ARE VERY BUSY (1person in waiting room) and the wait is very long! Do u wanna still wait?! I said yes, I couldnt find my insurance card but had a Medicaid card with my insurance ID # and explained they can check my eligibility with that # I was asked to sit. I began to log into my insurance page to get the ins. Card when another receptionist came over & told they can not see me bc I dont have the ins card & to go somewhere else mind u she did this infront of the other 3 ppl there that had just walked in. I asked if the ID card on my ins web would be good & again I was told NO I have to scan ur card! Ive been there b4 they have my ins card scanned & everything. So unprofessional & disrespectful! But I did find the best urgent care Northwell urgent care in Union blvd. Go there instead! See there they said as long as u have ins & the ID # you are perfectly fine! Now thats how it should be!
Facility was very clean. People working the front area were very nice. One in particular went above and beyond her name was Amanda. Once I was inside the treatment room , I believe her name was Tricia had been very nice and made me comfortable. Will definitely be returning if need be.
We have come here several times, on most visits we have seen Dr Peterman and her staff. They have always been pleasant, helpful and understanding. Dr Peterman is a wonderful doctor who listens, cares and has good bedside manner. She is truly the one doctor we hope we see when we have to come there. The office is extremely clean and the desk staff is also very nice. We will continue to come here for our Urgent Care needs. Thank you!!
The staff was lovely! Both doctors I saw were friendly and helpful. The administration end needs to do better. The 2 hour wait was expected because of covid. What really bothered me was their call system. I was told I would either get a call with my results or to call them, and the phone line was sketchy so I asked for a business card. Of the 4 different phone lines I called, all phone lines ended in recorded messages that hang up on you except 1, and the person couldn’t help me. You need to set up the patient portal in person (which nobody told me), so if they don’t call you then you can’t get your results unless you go back there. While I didn’t hate my experience, I can’t say I would recommend. I did get a phone call with results, so I fortunately did not have to back in.
Was clean and well lit. very polite staff at the desk and the medical staff gave you a sense of being very competent without being cold. The physician had that rare combination of projecting professionalism and compassion at the same time. She was excellent. I would make her my primary doctor if I lived in the area. If I had a child, Id definitely take them here (play area in the waiting room and perfect doc for kids) and the staff seemed like they werent uptight.
I visited ProHealth Urgent Care when I was having horrible lower back pain, I knew it had to be a kidney infection or maybe something worse like kidney stones! The staff was great, the nurse and Doctor that treated me were very helpful and professional. I would definitely recommend ProHealth Urgent care for any Non-emergency visits.
When I first got there they asked for my name all my information then they said to wait in the car maybe I waited in the car 10-15 minutes not even, I went in the back took my vitals & covid test Dr Diane Peterman came in shes wonderful & did everything she was supposed to do, talked to me like a person and not just a number waiting in a waiting room. I was in and out maybe a half hour tops, everything was clean and sterile everybody was friendly and polite and caring and Dr Diane Peterman I think shes wonderful. Thank You & stay well!!
The nurses and doctors that work here are the very best!!!!! They are caring and have excellent bedside manner and are very knowledgeable! My daughter will not go anywhere else and prefers any of them over her regular doctor. The staff that works by front desk are wonderful too!!
Had a shoulder injury and needed to get it looked at late on Saturday. They took me in right away without an appointment. The staff was really great. The place was very clean. They were taking all the necessary precautions for COVID but was still a great atmosphere. I will be back... hopefully not too often, but when the need arises.
I appreciate the efficiency and caring staff at ProHealth. I would recommend anyone there, knowing they will be cared for in a timely manner! Thank you very much to all the staff in making family and myself feel safe during this health crisis our communities are facing.
From the minute my daughter & I walked in, we were helped & treated with such amazing care & consideration of our needs. I will never go anywhere else. I actually told my friend to bring his Mom here all the way from Hicksville. We love them!! And thank them for all their services!!!
The care I received was more than favorable. The facility obtained my information effectively, it was not a long application process for medical care. Because a major portion of it was arranged online and the appointment was set quickly. The facility was clean and orderly. A nurse and doctor sought to carefully ascertain my health dilemma and provided options of resolution with instructional information. The center was opened late, I was one of the last clients. Thank you, ProHEALTH team.
Everything went well . Waited in my car until called inside, went right into a room . The testing was quick and efficient. The tech explained everything. The doc introduced himself , the physical exam appropriate.Would’ve given a 5 star except the tech didn’t introduce himself and more disturbing the temp was taken with oral thermometer.- yes with probe cover but still...Otherwise the appointment went well. I will return in the future.
Just went for rib pains. Was looked at for 30 seconds poked in rib 1 time and stomach 2 times told go to Er. Wasted money going there for nothing. They didnt check blood pressure didnt do temperature and woman didnt have a mask on during a pandemic. Will not be ever going back
Rapid testing. Came back positive. Waited in car for results. Doctor came out and informed me and suggested a steroid and inhaler regiment. I am reacting well with the medication and are no longer exhibiting symptoms. I am aware of the need to isolate. I have recommended this place to others. Thank you!
Had a wonderful experience from the moment I walked in with my family to the moment I left. Kudos to the staff and Dorothy for having such a warm and caring demeanor. Happy to know they are also affiliated with my pediatrician. ❤. Check them out especially if you have kids.
All of the staff is friendly, and I was taken in (for my non-covid issue) as soon as possible despite how busy they were from the amount of covid testing being done. The wait time was accurate and I really appreciate that they are appointment only right now, so there are no groups of people in/wrapped around the building, all patients must wait in their cars. The front staff was strict about being at least six feet apart when there was more than one person, which I appreciate greatly.ALL of the staff was incredibly kind and compassionate. My doctor, Chris A., and the woman who assisted him (unfortunately didn’t get her name) were beyond patient with me. They explained the entire process and answered every question of mine with total honesty. Chris A. and the wonderful woman who assisted him made me feel very comfortable despite my very huge fear of having the procedure done. I am so glad that they convinced me to go through with the procedure - he promised I would feel better afterwards, despite how painful the procedure is, and he was VERY RIGHT! Chris A. told me what he was doing every step of the way, no surprises. I truly cannot thank Chris and the woman who assisted him, enough! Such amazing and patient people! Thank you so, so much!Edit: My only complaint is being unable to call the location and speak directly with a receptionist. They have an automated message up right now, probably because of the high amount of people calling regarding Covid tests.
I presented with 102 fever and a cough. The med tech knew how sick I was. Still, she did not wear goggles or a face shield. She blew me off when I told her I didnt want her to get sick. She had me lower my mask. Wow! When I mentioned it to doc who also did not wear anything to protect his eyes, he said Image how many hours people would have to wait if we started with face shields? REALLY? You put it on and keep it on! Shame on them! They are probably passing this horrible virus to others. What happened to do no harm?
ProHealth Urgent Carr of West Islip was a BLESSING to me; they were open at least 2 hours before all the other Urgent Care facilities, I was able to book an appointment IMMEDIATELY online, I went in, checked in and was seen right away by a doctor ( Dr. Philip DeGaetano) that was friendly, knowledgeable, took time with me, spoke with me, explained everything and took care of my medical needs efficiently; he made me feel extremely safe and comfortable; all of the staff was friendly, professional and highly efficient; this Urgent Care Facility is HIGHLY RECOMMEND BY ME.
I have been here many times and have loved ever dr there but tonight i saw the pa bc i have a sore throat and been sneezing (Covid negative). I went in the nurse only checked my o2 didn’t check my bp. When the dr came in he didn’t ask me about any of my 10+ medications I’m on or allergies. Then he goes to write me for an antibiotic that I’m allergic to without asking me if i have allergies. Normally i have zero problems here dr, peterman is the best! But sadly this visit made me not want to come here anymore. I could have ended up in the hospital if i didn’t realize that theMedication he was going to write me for had penicillin in it.
My experience during my visit to the office was great. The receptionist was pleasant, the wait time was not long, and the medical staff was responsive and took their time. The issue came with getting the paperwork from them that was needed for me to return to work. I called multiple times and the woman who answered the phone did not seem willing to go out of her way to assist me. I called later that same evening and a man answered the phone and promised he would take care of everything and call me back. Within one hour he had not only called me back but had also emailed the paperwork I needed. I wish I had gotten his name but didnt. Im just happy he was the one working that evening.
This is the only urgent care I actually trust! I take not only myself and husband but my two toddlers. After being misdiagnosed MULTIPLE times at a pediatric urgent care we will never take them anywhere else besides this specific pro health! The Drs and nurses and front desk staff are all super friendly and sweet.
The doctor was super nice and my visit was quick. Only a 5 minute wait! I took a star off because they sent my medication to the wrong pharmacy. After calling them, they said they would fix it. After an hour of waiting in the pharmacy, I called back and they had never even called it into the right pharmacy. The pharmacist had to call them and get the prescription verbally over the phone.
Awesome place! I highly recommend this walk-in care facility.. The doctors are beyond awesome! There were 2 doctors from Riverhead and unfurtunfortu they had relocate do to the fact a lot people didnt know they were their. I rate this place a number 10! The doctor that seen my child in Islip was awesome as well. Very caring knowledgeable, attentive. Ive been to many places and I rate this place the best. Oh the inside is beautiful! Thank to all the fabulous doctors that cared for me and my child...
I changed my mind after two other visits. Place is run by teenagers and they determine who gets seen. This is supposed to be an accountable care organization, instead its mismanaged and they turn patients away 90 minutes before they close. The idea behind an organization such as prohealth is that they receive enhanced fees from insurance companies to keep people out of er’s. When I walk into an urgent care at 8:30 and they tell me they’re full to capacity with two people in the waiting room and turn a sick child away they have some answering to do.
I was taken to ProHealth Urgent Care by my Best Friend Robin who was a bit concerned about my well-being due to my underlying conditions. With the Coronavirus still in the atmosphere and Trump not taking the American people’s lives serious as he should as president. My friend wanted to make sure I was not in any danger so she took me there because it was the only facility open until 10:00pm on a Saturday night. All the others were closed at 6:00pm. I was extremely happy because I didn’t want to go to a hospital and wait in the ER for 3 hours before I could be seen by a doctor.Dr Diane Peterman and her staff were very thorough and friendly. She made sure I understood exactly what was wrong and administered the Flu and Coronavirus tests, the results of both tests came back negative. I was pleased with my results and thanked Dr. Peterman for her assistance.I would definitely recommend ProHealth Urgent Care to my friends and family members who needed a place to go if they weren’t feeling well.Regards,Yvianne
Came here at 630pm on a Sunday for a rapid test. They said their computers were doing some sort of …something, idk…and to come back in an hour. Come back in an hour and we get a “sorry we’re not taking walk ins anymore” *had 2 people in the waiting room*Truly, our heroes amid this pandemic. Keep up the good work StOpPinG tHe SprEaD
I have been to prohealth the west Islip location on three separate occasions. All related to COVID-19. They were very efficient and even though the lines with very long in other locations and other facilities ProHealth was very organized. When I went in the lobby was completely empty and they took very little information from me and texted me a website to fill in all the information and they told me exactly how long it would be and how many people were in front of me. We were able to wait in the car rather than in the freezing cold in the lines outside. They were right on the money with the waiting time and once you name was called, you were seen immediately. The technician was efficient and then the doctor came in to answer any questions you may have. I would highly recommend their service
The Dr. recommended a hospital for a CAT scan and a quicker turn around in the ER than going to a neighboring hospital. This was the best advice and honestly, the best kept secret. Within 1 hour of my arrival to the hospital, I had a CAT scan performed, a diagnoses and within 3 hrs, arrived home comfortable with my medication in hand. Kudos to the West Islip Team for their professional help, guidance and best customer service.Thank you, again!
Clean, new facility, plenty of space. May take you a few minutes to sign in and fill out paperwork on first visit but otherwise there was no wait at all, in and out very quickly. Staff are helpful and friendly. If your PCP is closed, definitely a good backup to head here.
Felt really sick so I decided to head to urgent care. The check in process was seamless, the receptionist was very understanding, and concerned. The medical assistant listened and took my vitals, and the doctor made me feel like he was hanging on to ever word. He reassured me that I did the right thing by coming in and eased my mind. I definitely will be coming back.
I am very happy with the emergency service that my 4 year old son was given. I took him to another emergency site before and they did not do anything. They told me it was only a virus but when I came here the doctor noticed that my son diagnostic was wrong and she gave him the medicines he needed and my son was recovering fast .I highly recommend them they are very professional and their staff is very efficient.
Very impressed with my first appt here.Everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating! Examination was thorough and prescriptions for my situation were exactly what I needed! I highly recommend this facility and am so greatly appreciative for the wonderful care I was afforded by P.A Chris Alleva Asst Michelle, And entire staff headed by Dr Diane Peterman. They are the Best .Better than my PrimaryDoctor!Sincerely John W. Hoffman
I cannot say enough about how excellent my experience was. We came on a Sunday after my 2-year-old fell and injured her foot. From the moment we stepped in the office went out of its way to be kind and accommodating. It made such a differences as my daughter was pretty scared of this experience going in. Dr. Stillman was immediately able to establish report with her which was amazing as even her own doctor can set her on edge. When x-rays were deemed necessary we had a real struggle on our hands getting her to comply. Jayson the x-ray tech was unbelievable. He stuck it out patiently and we were able to get the images we needed to conform no fracture. As much as I hope not to return for a while, in a situation like this there is nowhere else I’ll consider going. Thank you Jayson, thank you Dr. Stillman and thank you to the entire team there!!
Staff was friendly. Medical assistant was though. I had the most interaction with nurse practicornor. I was truly hoping it my diagnose would be something simple but it wasnt. I explain my past medical history to her and she was very know of it.. most people dont know aboit it. She was compassionate andbunderstanding to my needs. I will be going back here
I have never visited an urgent care before and I was nervous about the service and care I would receive. I looked up the options I had near me and found ProHEALTH had the highest ratings so I decided to try them. I am happy I did. The office was spotless. They have plenty of hand sanitizer available as well as face masks and other giveaways such as chap stick, bandaids, etc.The receptionist was friendly and explained how to complete the required forms. After I paid my co-pay she explained that they would be with me shortly. I was seen right away. An assistant took my vitals and performed a strep test. She told me the doctor would be in shortly. The doctor, yes doctor came in right away. She introduced herself and asked about my symptoms. She took the time to examine me and suggested a flu test. She explained my treatment options and asked if I understood or had any questions. She was patient, kind and seemed like she cared and concerned about my well being.I left the office with a print out of everything and my prescriptions sent to my pharmacy.I highly recommend ProHEALTH and would return in the future should I need to.
Was able to get in and be seen immediately when I was doubled over with abdominal pain. Dr. Peterman was able to give me a correct preliminary diagnosis of an issue that has been bothering me FOR YEARS that none of the other doctors I’ve seen have been able to pinpoint, a condition that could have potentially become fatal if not addressed. I am extremely happy with my treatment here and the professionalism of Dr. Peterman and other staff. Going here may have saved my life.
The West Islip Urgent care location is always clean and it’s spacious and most of the time it’s quick in and out. But mostly the staff from reception to nurses, PAs and doctors there are professional and very friendly. They make you feel better just the way they interact with each patient. I would recommend.2020- We’ve been using Prohealth in West Islip primarily for a couple years, but have used them solely during the pandemic. With the rising cases this holiday season, testing numbers have been incredibly high. This creates an issue with getting in contact with the office by phone as they have recorded messages when you call. The only way to make an appt at this time is through the Solv app or walk in. The app usually doesn’t have available appts even at any hour when checking for future dates. The app also doesn’t link to other family members or provide test results.Dr. Pedermen is great and the main reason we continue to go here. She really makes you feel like you are her only patient, never rushed. She listens, and provides medical advice and support to her patients. Her staff follow that lead and are all very caring and professional. My family appreciates the service they provide. Thank you.
I have to say hands down best staff of secretaries, nurses, and doctors around! They are so welcoming and I have always had quick friendly service, especially for my little guy!! He never minds going there, they let him help with everything they do to him!! Thanks to a great staff!!
My husband and I went for covid-19 rapid tests and PCR test. My husband received the results of his test within 30 minutes by email. I never received the results of my test. I tried to call the urgent Care Center and got a message that looped around and then just disconnected with no person to speak to. Finally I had to go back to the center and request my results in person. I hope I receive the results of the longer PCR test successfully.
What can I say, they saved my life. I was very ill and the doctors were right on point with the diagnoses. This is truly the best Urgent Care in the area. Dr. Stillman and Dr. Peterman are amazing as well as the entire staff. Its is always clean, and Rachel at the front desk is courteous and kind. The MAs and Xray tech Michelle were very kind and professional as well. Would highly recommend this site to all!!!!!
Rachel is always outstanding at the front desk, friendly and professional. Michelle is a great asset to that office always asking good questions to make my care better. Accuracy in doing vitals and by performing the test she saves time in the visit too. Dr Perterman is one of the best doctors in all prohealth, her beside manner is wonderful, as a patient Im comfortable and in good hands. She explains everything carefully and the outcome is always great. This is one of the best urgent care in suffolk county.
I had my first visit to ProHealth yesterday. I had been feeling sick for a week and was almost positive it was a sinus infection (I work with kids so I’ve had quite a few).. Everyone there was warm and friendly, and the dr listened to my concerns. I was seen and out of there in less than 30 minutes. This will be my go to urgent care from now on.
Received excellent emergency care when I went in 20 minutes before closing on a Saturday evening.Dr Diane Peterman went above normal efforts and stayed with me until well past closing time until my condition improved. I was not going to get this level of care on a Saturday night in the emergency room.
I went here based on the raving reviews. This was a huge mistake. ProHealth Urgent Care is one of the worst places that I have ever been to. I hope that my review will prevent others from wasting their time and money. Most importantly, I want to prevent the public from receiving poor medical care. After waiting for over two hours to be seen, I saw a doctor for approximately two minutes. She barely examined me. I was given a prescription for 5 day azithromycin and a high dose of prednisone. I felt horrible on the medications. After a week, I was coughing even worse than before. At that point, I decided to see a real primary care physician. They spent the time properly diagnosing me and prescribed the correct antibiotic. I would have recovered much sooner had I never gone to ProHealth Urgent Care in the first place. Also, I would never have taken the inappropriate medications that negatively impacted my health. Now the bill for $285 has arrived. It just angers me to pay for something that was actually harmful. I have to look at it as a lesson, which is to stay away from urgent care and go to a real doctor’s office for all future medical issues.
An incredible and refeshing experience. Exceptional diagnostic abilities, which is key to the best outcome. Never disappointed. I have been following Dr. Diane Peterman since 2015. She is one of a kind, and the staff is equally amazing. NP Diane is awesome. The ambiance reflects a desire to help and heal. And on top of all that .. a very structed emphasis on wait time. There is always someone checking in if there is more than a 5 minute wait. Which of course can never be predicted. A great help in making the patient feel comfortable and important. Patient service at its best.
Service is extremely slow. I’ve waited more than 2 hours to be called into a room. (Still waiting as I write this) once in the room, I continue to wait. It has been more than 30 minutes. I asked an employee whether the doctor will me in soon or not, and she replies “do you see how busy it is” long story short, do not come here. You’re better off waiting in an Emergency room. It’ll probably be quicker.
My wife went in for an earache, they mistreated her and she didn’t get better. When she called back, they told her to come back in to be seen. Needless to say, they charged us $100 per visit for a total of $200, while hitting my insurance for $185 for both visits. This place is a true money grab, and should’ve honored their mistreatment. When I called up to dispute, no one cared to resolve the issue, just claimed “that we don’t do follow ups”. We are very disappointed that they couldn’t even honor their initial treatment of a patient . Well We will never go back here! There are too many urgent cares around to be treated that way. Had great experiences at AFC urgent care, and also at gohealth.
Made me wait outside for 40 minutes, they said they were going to come out and never did .I was there on a Thursday , they said I would have the results in 3 days. I had a procedure on Monday and told them that. When I called over the weekend to get the results they said it could take up to 10 days. The results have to be within 5 days so what’s the point ? Here it is 1023 on Monday and my procedure is postponed because I still have no results .They are not a very professional office at all.
This place was pretty amazing, this was the second time I was here and it was during the evening hours. The doctors were great I seen two different ones, they were very caring, concerned, and did a complete work up. Blood work, exray, nebulizer, so for me I give them a 10. Also forgot to mention the staff was great as well. Thank you ProHealth Urgent care.
My name is Dulcinete Cornwell, I loved the ProHealth Urgent Care, all the staffs were great and efficient. The doctors and assistant also were very on top. X-rays techenition also was very kind. The most important was that they New what they were doing and I felt safe. After seen them, I have not deseired to go back to my primary care.
I go maybe 3-4 times a year to Pro Health for my medical needs sometimes hard to get my regular doctor appointment . Never had o wait more then 15 minutes the doctors are Great the doctor I think name Don he works also in emergency when not there, Great takes time to explain don t talk over your head I told him if he went private practice I be his patient, So to finish I am very pleased with Pro Health Emergency walk in
I went in on Sunday, around 2pm I think, with a terrible sunburn from the 4th. Very knowlegable, helpful, friendly staff. Practically no waiting and they accepted my insurance. In and out in about an hour. Relief from pain. Altogether I have to say its a great place for urgent care.
I decided to try Prohealth for first time on Sept 6 as it is closer to my home..although place was clean, neat and staff was very friendly, I was somewhat disappointed I wasn’t given any discharge papers..I didn’t see an MD saw a PA and he mentioned he was sending out urine to outside for lab culture. When I exited I ask the front desk if that was it the girl said yes you are good. Therefore I left.I usually go to another urgent care when exiting one pays and are given discharge papers with some informational printout of diagnoses and medication to take etc and to follow up with primary doctor or the urgent care.there staff also calls the next day not two days later like Prohealth did.The staff left a message on my voicemail just saying they were following up how I was doing but never mentioned about the lab results or for me to call back for my lab resultsI decided to call as I signed in to some portal they have clients sign in to once you go there but they don’t put any information is all for clients to put their personal info and insurance and make appointments online & just list the reason one went thereCan’t print out lab resultsOn 9/17 I call and receptionist was polite and helpful however she said they don’t fax the discharge/lab paperwork I will have to now make a trip to get it I mentioned to her the PA who saw me said he sent my urine test for lab culture and will take 2-3 days to get back She checked with I believe was nurse or doctor and said my lab results were ok I was given the correct medication to clear up my diagnosisNot sure if I will feel comfortable being seen again at the place due to their oversight to make sure to give me discharge papers as it is their job not mine to remind them..As they signed me in to a portal asking all my contact information I thought they were emailing me the discharge and/or having access to it on the portal. When it comes to someone’s health it is important information to give to patients before they leave office and to follow up within the next day especially given medications or give lab results etc.
Pro Health of West Islip is full of the kindest and most compassionate staff. Every time I take my little ones there, the doctors, nurses and supporting medical staff go above and beyond to make sure we leave happier than we walked in. Michelle always goes out of her way to put a smile on our faces. Thanks Pro Health!
This location (West Islip) is clean, organized and well staffed.Dr. Diane Peterman at the West Islip location is an outstaing physician. She is experienced, extremely knowledgeable, thorough, with outstanding and commendable interpersonal skills very rarely seen today from many physicians. She is highly recommended and trusted.
I visited the urgent care center in Islip on 27A this past Sunday 12/3018. Out of the blue my right knee became incapaitated and swollen, could not walk. I met with Dr Diane Peterman. Dr. Peterman had x rays taken, quickly analyzed the situation, provided immediate care to reduce swelling and then provided the next Dr. in the chain for further consultation. The service was professional and accurate from beginning to end. I will say that the experience was far superior to a hospital emergency room.Martin Frederick
What a mess!!!!! They put people going for anti-body testing in the same waiting room with people that have covid-19 symptoms. Why would any place with that large of a waiting room not have a section for people with possible covid-19. They shows that they dont care about you. Do yourself a favor and go to northwell urgent care on union blvd. They do temp checks and keep people away from each other.
The staff is horrible here. I had a severe burn on my face and was very upset. So what does the receptionist do, she goes in the back and takes everyones lunch order delaying my process of over 45 minutes being seen. Then I go into see the Dr. he does not even give me a script and says to wait to see the dermatologist in the morning. He should have prescribed me a patroleum based ointment! Retarded ! Very rude all together, not professional very trashy! Then another time about 6 months ago I suffered a horrible neck injury and was treated like a drug addict by the female Physician. It turned out I had 2 herniated discs in my neck and severe nerve damage. Her suggestion was if you are in so much pain go to the E R bc you are not getting any meds here! Trashy arrogant staff!
This is the worst urgent care in town.disrespectful and unprofessional doctor. I came in because I got impetigo something Ive been getting for years. Dont know who he was but the fat a~~ with glasses was a complete jerk and literally laughed in my face telling me my (actual doctor) was wrong. And saying like oh you know some people just arent qualified im sorry what like you? i highly doubt youre qualified youre probably just working at urgent care because you couldnt get a real doctor job. Especially with that attitude. That is NOT how you treat patients. Not to mention getting something to help my impetigo was like pulling teeth. Touched my face without gloves and barely even looked at it. He couldnt stop laughing, ive never seen someone so unprofessional in my life you obviously dont know what youre doing.Im not paying a ridiculous copay for you to laugh in my face while i sit here in pain knowing the exact cause for my pain because i get the same thing every year! Came in here because this was the only place in town open till 6 and i was having issues and needed help, not to be dlcked around by some arrogant prlck who should not even be a doctor there.
Ive come here 6 times. I dont know what happened to the old doctors, but the new ones that are here are very incompetent and have ZERO bed side manner. You are better off going to a REAL doctor. They must be handing out medical degrees to these people. Dont believe me then go to them and wonder why your still sick after weeks because they dont give you the right meds. My PCP has even questioned why they put me on certain meds!!

2022-04-10Overall fast service. They allow you to book an appointment online before arriving to minimize your wait. Doctors are very friendly and at least make you feel like they actually care about your concerns. Highly recommend! A+

2022-06-20I came in with a severe sore throat (NOT Covid I tested negative twice), and thought it might be strep. I was barely able to swallow, talk, or breathe and the pain was excruciating. I decided to go to this “urgent” care, as I needed pretty urgent care. After 2 HOURS they finally called me. They were repeatedly declining walk-ins as I was waiting because there was only 1 practitioner on hand. After I was called, I still waited an additional HOUR to see the doctor and was left sitting in the exam room (still in unbearable pain). I might as well have gone to the ER I might have received faster service there.

2022-05-16I have been here multiple times between myself and two young children. Each and every time I go the wait time is great. (I usually make an appt and I am in and out within 30 mins.)The doctors, PAs, NPs and medical techs are all SO nice and also so so amazing with the kids. They have so much patience with them. And for an urgent care facility I have to say this location is one of the cleanest I’ve ever stepped foot into. (And I work in a hospital so I know what to look for when it comes to cleanliness of a patient care area.)I am always very pleased with the care I receive here. I recommend them to everyone I know who is in need of an urgent care facility.Keep up the good work, it’s not going unnoticed!!

2022-06-13Worst care by a medical professional I have ever received. The triage person was great, caring and did all the correct things. The P.A. on the other hand was useless. She listened to her heart and NOTHING ELSE. All she cared about was a covid test and covid protocols. Her bedside manner was a joke and non existent. She missed a mono diagnosis because she was too afraid of covid. Had she taken 5 seconds to look in my daughters throat she would have clearly seen it was NOT covid and was something serious. I had to take her to the ER less than 24 hours later for medical treatment. Do not go here unless all you need is a covid test. No medical care at all.

2021-11-11Big sign out front stating that they take walk-ins. My elderly mother was just in a rear impact car accident yesterday and today is complaining about back/spinal pain. We googled the nearest urgent care and came here last minute because of the good reviews. As we walk in, theres a huge sign in the window stating EVERYONE WELCOME, JUST WALK IN. We go to the front desk and they ask if we have an appointment, obviously we say no. They proceed to tell us that appointments are required and turn us away. If thats the case you should take down the sign and state such! What gives?!?

2022-02-08Always a wonderful experience. My doctor sent over pain meds to my pharmacy CVS, but when I went there they lost power and was closed. I requested pro health send over to another CVS close by, which they did immediately. I called that pharmacy who stated Rx was already filled and they could not fill it. There was no way I could have went one more day in that pain. I called over to prohealth and my doc Peterman or Peterson took care of it promptly and I was able to get some sleep after none for 2 days.

2022-01-04I used to like this place until I came across a nurse named Diane . That Nurse Diane is very rude and nasty. All I said was this was a waste of my time and she flipped. She became very argumentative with me. I’ve even apologized to her and she still was very argumentative. I am sorry but I felt that she did not want to attend to me. She was very quick and just checked me for COVID and the flu. It’s like nothing else existed to her but Covid-19 or the flu. She did not check my ears or anything. I had to ask her if she could. Then I said to her “you know what? just give me your name because I was going to call and speak to someone regarding this issue and then she became very pompous started showing me her name tag and saying did you get the name right? It’s Diane . Here goes the thing though. I went there because I was very sick I said something she didn’t like. If she did not want to be there, she should not be working there. She did not like what I said and she let me know it. She continued to argue with me. A nurse should not be arguing with the patient bottom line. It was even appointed I was staying quiet and she was still rambling on, and the fact that she’s so pompous to give you her name and continue to ask you did you spell it right and make sure you call the right department makes me think that that’s why she is that way because she knows she’s indispensable. It’s kind of sad that they let their nurses be so rude to their patients.

2021-10-14Its so easy to get in there and its always a pleasant experience. Bedside manner of staff is great, front desk is friendly and professional. Last time I was there Dr Degaetano referred me to a ProHealth specialist (so I already knew they were in-network) and Katie at the front desk called to schedule the appointment for me, which was a quick two days later. I really like this place, I always feel like Im in good hands.
