The food here is terrible worst pizza ive ever had, its like a loaf of stale bread with ragu pasta sauce drenched on it(about a gallon per slice) and cheap cheese thats like plastic. The staff is rude and the prices are threw the roof save your money and go to any other pizza shop in chemung county
Wings were bussin respectfully! Sauce was on point, sweet, and not so hot as to produce rim fire. Will definitely be back!

Not as good as it use to be. Last couple of times that we have ordered have been disappointing. The pepperoni pizza meal deal was kind of expensive for 2 slices and a small drink for $10.75 with tax. Is that a deal? Pizza was dried up and crunchy, maybe it was in the warmer to long?
First off, I want to say I have eager to try this place for years now, I had the opportunity today and wasnt disappointed. I ordered food for both dine in and take out. The pizza was amazing and the stromboli warmed up later was fantastic. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be returning to this place, hopefully sooner than later.
Told chicken wing pizza in oven, wait would be about 8 minutes. Waited 10 minutes, went up to counter, they didnt even have the pizza in the oven. Got my money back and walked out.
As always, Pudgies delivered. Thank you for another great meal!
I ordered a hot ham and chese sub and I told the cashier no onions or tomatoes and what do u now I had onions on my sub I was mad

What a joke. Ordered a large pizza at 534 pm at 645 called to find out where the delivery was, we were told driver forgot it but it was on its way. 30 minutes later called they stated we dont have an order for this address, never going again, spent between $70-100 a month at this store
I grew up here in the 60s and 70s. No one could beat Rohans Pizza in Horseheads. Then came Pudgies. While they did ok and a lot of people enjoy it. They have gone downhill since the opened in 1963. First generation always prevail, kids ruined it. To this day, no one made a better Pizza than Joe Rohan.
Pizza is as good as you can expect from a conveyor belt. But $38 bucks for a large 3 topping is insane. A conveyor belt pizza is garbage and made in the cheapest possible way. So why the insane price!
30$ for a small fish fry seems a little out of hand these days

Its been a hit or miss lately @ Pudgies! This Medium Pizza was so greasy that it couldnt be eaten at all!! & at $$$27. PLUS tip ... I called them & he told me to call back tomorrow I was annoyed .. So So today Ill be calling , especially @ that $$$. Hope they make it right .. because I have liked them for years !!?
The pizza was great but the wings were made so far in advance of the pizza that the wings were cold. Their operation should be better than that with all the years of experience they have. Im not happy with hot pizza and cold wings.
Do Not call them. First they refuse to deliver 7 minutes away. Then they get 2 out 4 subs wrong. The portions were small and pricey. And the food was not even goodStaff was at least freindly

If you grew up in upstate New York, theres a good chance youve heard of Pudgies Pizza and this is a place that is always on your list of places I need to visit when I go home.Its fast food, (hence only 4 out of 5 stars), but is uniquely New York.Caveat emptor: Not all Pudgies are the same as theyre now independently owned with no franchise to maintain consistency. The Horseheads Pudgies is as close to the original as I have found so far.
Being a vegetarian, pizza is one thing you can safely eat. And when there is a vegetarian gourmet pizza then you feel delighted. But it was such a disappointment. The pizza base and good and fresh,no doubt. But the veggies toppings were a disaster . I am sure other options would be good. The place seemed nice
Wow. I havent had a good experience here in years and this one tops the cake. Called in and was inquiring about what comes with a fish fry and was told so I asked for one for my wife, some wings for me and a small pizza for the kids. Food takes about a hour and a half to get here, pizza looks like they poured a fryer on top of it. The wings have so much sauce on them that you cant even seen the actual wings, and they forgot the fish fry all together. I called back and was told that the fish fry wasnt even written down, and that because of their mistake I would have to pay for another fish fry (keep in mind I had already paid for the first one) at this point I was so disappointed in the service I received I just told the lady on the phone to have a nice day and hung up. Really unfortunate that such a staple business in the community has such poor customer service.
Busy, friendly staff. Pricey, but food is excellent. Price seems to be online with inflation.
As always this pizza is the best out of all the different owned franchises... And hits the spot Everytime especially now that I live out of town

Its an ok pizza joint. A little pricey for the little portions or a whole lot of pricey for a large family. The service depends on whos working. Sad to say, a lot of part time help.Over all, its just ok 👌

They charged almost 6 dollars per topping and dont put very much on it, if you order extra cheese you dont get it. Elmira is definitely better in all ways

I gave pudgies 0 stars because I spend a lot of money there and all I ever get sloppy not done pizza. My soda was flat. This will not happen anymore because they lost my business for good. Need to teach your employees on nights to give a damn and how to cook pizza. Its sad that I cant post my review without giving a star
Okay food and awful service. Ordered wings for pickup, when I picked them up they had filled the Styrofoam container with about a quart of buffalo sauce. Not expecting it, this container is NOT water tight and so it got EVERYWHERE in my car. Would have been nice to have a heads up that they drenched my wings in sauce... Which I didnt ask for.
I have been faithfully been going to Pudgies almost weekly in the winter months (get togethers with friends) since I can remember and after todays very poor customer service treatment, this may be our last trip unless things change there. Im in their e-club which is supposed to give you a small discount and today they had a $5. coupon good on ALL party packs. Just a couple weeks ago we paid $37.99 Today my e-club coupon is now $41.99 and they would not honor their $5. discount ( no coupon necessary) that is for today only. Im guessing to lure more people for the Superbowl. Anyways, we already ordered (2) party packs totally almost $100. with one topping each. Not only would they not honor their $5. coupon, but when I went onto their Facebook page, similar to what you see here, they deleted my comments TWICE! It seems as they do not respect their customers opinions and have no interest in understanding where they are coming from. Instead, they only want the high praise to filter through. Just remember, an upset customer is more likely to tell even more people than the pleased customers do so the key is to keep your customers satisfied if you depend on repeat business. Sad, weve defended Pudgies while others have said its either too expensive or doesnt taste good. Weve been loyal up until now...
I would say that pizza is good, but customer service needs improvement. The waiting staff took the condiments from our table and gave it to other table without permission and were fairly non cooperative when I asked for them again. The locals at the other table were rude. My advice for tourists is to stay away.
This is great party pizza. Delivery is fast, reliable and easy. Wings are saucey. Mild wing sauce is really good. Try the meat sauce pizza. Dont order if you are on a diet. This is not that kind of place.

They were very busy but did get my order wrong. High price for order of 10 wings cause they dropped the dozen wings they used to sell. So higher price for less. Quality of food tonight was just not up to their usual speed. But will go back to see if it was just a bad night for their staff.
My daughter told us about pudgies in the valley serving fish, I called this pudgies and yes they serve fish so we went last night. Awsome amount of fish & fries, coleslaw & rolls.also very reasonable price for the amount of food you get. Very good food & service. The owner who is the 1 who does the fish still makes time to come out & speak to every customer there. Fantastic food & service. We will definitely go again. I think this place is our new go to for fish fry. Thank you so much to the owner & staff for asking this a great experience for my family.

Been loving Pudgies since I was 2. 42 years of wonderful. I live near Buffalo NY where wings originally got their start. Pizza in western NY is ok but can never compare to Pudgies delicious crust. Every time my family and I come home, which is not to often, we have to get Pudgies. Its iconic! I have had pizza from many different states and Canada, but Pudgies is the the best!!! There are many other good pizzeria s here in the Horseheads/Elmira area. But Pudgies is the best!

I was sadly disappointed at having to dish out $9.99 for a puddgie burger that was made up of a roll and one patty burger cut in half. The puddgie thats was made famous is no longer the traditional puddgie burger consisted of a special size burger the length of the roll. If I had known I would of gone to Burger King for less than six dollars I would of been meat satisfied. Will not be going to puddgies Burger again their pizza is not the greatest either Giuseppe is way better. I brought my concerns to the staff they stated they just worked their enough said.
Love the Stromboli. Pizza has good flavor. Very crusty or bready crust. But not under cooked I like thicker crust so this pizza is perfect for me

Horseheads Pudgies seems to be a polarizing pizzeria for the locals; you either love it or you hate it. This place has always been my favorite pizza since I was a young tike. The haters like to call it Sludgies. I will admit that the prices are high, but you simply cannot beat the taste/flavor in my opinion. They use a lot more sauce and cheese than the average pizzeria and that can create a lot of grease (hence Sludgies). The crust is more of a fluffy chewy variety as opposed to most of the New York style thin crisp crusts in the area. The crust is also the same consistency and texture for their small - large sizes, and for their sheet pizza. For instance, if you go to Picnic Pizza and order a sheet pizza, it is a completely different crust than their large pizza. I also love the wings at Horseheads Pudgies, but make sure you get the traditional and not the boneless, the boneless are very similar to Buffalo Wild Wings and I am not a fan of that style. I dont order from Pudgies as much as I would like to due to the high prices, but when I do I always get one of their combo packs. Their Square Deal is a large pizza, 20 wings and a quart of soda. The Party pack is a sheet pizza with 20 wings and a quart of soda. Or if you want to go all out, the Max Pack is a sheet pizza, 40 wings and 2 quarts of soda. I recommend pepperoni and meat sauce for the pizza and mild traditional wings.They also offer pizza by the slice, breadsticks, hot and cold subs, other fried foods, pastas, salads, stromboli and calzones.Again, the prices are high, but you get what you pay for. Quality always costs a bit more, and your taste buds will thank you for it!
Dont bother with this place.Typical chain--all about throughput. To say that you cant control what you get in is one thing. But you can control what you put out the door.Half of the wings we got looked like someone took a bite and half of the meat was gone.I know that I wont be going here again and I suggest others do the same.

Horseheads and South Side Pudgies are head and shoulders above all the rest. I occasionally crave their char grilled Pudgie Burger sub, worth the trip for me!

I grew up in horseheads and was raised on pudgies 1978-1996. Ive lived up in buffalo for the second half of my life and every time I come home to visit, I stop at pudgies before I even go to my old house. Then 4 more times over the weekend. I swear if you opened a shop in Buffalo, me and all my transplant friends would keep you in business before you take over the while city. Think about it. My royalty check for the idea will only be like $100 a week.

2022-05-31I hadn’t visited a Pudgies Pizza in many, many years but being new to the area I have been looking forward to the hot roast beef sub that I remembered so fondly. My order was taken by a very nice young lady. I asked for a hot roast beef sub with BBQ sauce. There were several people working on orders. Mine was being made by a young man (blue and white T-shirt) who moved with the speed of an 80 year old! He spent more time addressing other employees issues and not my sub! It took, I kid you not, 15-20 minutes to get my sub. When I got home and opened the wrapper it was not a hot roast beef sub but a cold sub with lettuce, Mayo, and tomato….and no BBQ sauce! The roll was soggy on the bottom and a TOTAL disappointment! Needless to say I will not be ordering there again in the future. 🙁

2020-09-08Very busy pizza shop. But I can see why. Its the first time I have ever been to Pudgies. The Stromboli was packed full and delicious. Bread sticks were good. Wings were perfectly spicy and sauced. Blue cheese dressing was awesome. The canolis were honestly the best Ive had. It was not overly sweet. Im not a big canoli fan usually, but Pudgies did a phenomenal job. Staff was friendly and personable. We ate outside at the tables they setup. With social distancing applied.. Which was excellent because you got to see the cute town of Horseheads, NY. Historical Hanover square is well kept very quaint very cute. Thank you Pudgies.

2022-07-03While visiting some family in Horseheads from out of state, my Uncle Crow picked up pizza and wings from Pudgies Horseheads and it was all so delicious! The sauce on the wings is unlike anything we’ve been able to find anywhere else…mouthwatering with the best balance of flavors, and they were cooked perfectly. The sauce on the pizza was wonderful and the crust was soft with a hint of crisp on the edges which my kids loved and ate every last bite of. Such a great option for a family meal!!

2019-05-12Still as good as when I was a kid. Good pizza, lots of toppings. Great sauce. Friendly service. Got delivery- was supposed to take 45 mins- only took 20. Its pretty much everything the Watkins Pudgies isnt! And I got GF crust, really good. Pricey though.

2022-05-23I dont know whats going on with pudgies nowadays the wings didnt have very much sauce on them they were not cooked all the way weve always had good luck with pudgies and I called there tonight and the kid goes what do you want me to do well what would be the first thing that you would say to a customer what we could replace them so I guess Im going to have to call management tomorrow to get somebody to fix this mistake when youre spending over $50 for pizza and wings that are not cooked all the way

2022-02-15The pizza was good the wings were horrible and burnt couldn’t even eat them and to make matters worse everyone got food poisoning when my mom made the store aware they deleted comments then attacked her shady business practices. It’s also funny when my mom posted about it other families that ordered were also sick with food poisoning that ordered the same night. Care about your customers and don’t delete comments or deny the truth. To make that many people sick you are probably very dirty

2021-08-25Best Pizza in the upstate! We get this every time we travel up north, its fantastic! We usually get the Party Pack: Sheet Pizza + 2 dozen wings, will feed the whole family + leftovers. Prices have increased over the years, but the quality has not declined at all, tastes the same as when I was a kid. Highly Recommend!
